My main issue with how you decided to tackle the "dead zones", is to just bring more fillers, some of which are not that great for survivors with some very strong ones and some are too close to each other or to jungle gyms so they chain too easily.
Instead I feel like you should work on how the pallets are distributed on the map. The amounts of pallets on most maps were fine (with some obvious exceptions like borgo), but some were placed too close to tiles/jungle gyms with huge dead zones in other spots.
I think you could revert these recent pallet changes and instead:
- place some guaranteed fillers in places where regular tiles don't spawn, keeping a reasonable distance from the closest one and consider how they can be chained with other tiles (i.e. they shouldn't chain that easily)
- the fillers far away from stronger tiles/jungle gyms should be stronger, while those closer to other structure should be much weaker
- review how the map styles impact tiles strength, not all tile layouts or fillers work for all maps
- add some window-based fillers like on Toba, too many maps lack any windows in so many spots
- do something about the hills, I think they create a lot of dead zones, maybe place a tunnel under them with a possible window or a pallet inside or on top, or slim them out to place a window/pallet next to it, kinda like the tiles next to shack on new ormond
+ my totally personal and super biased ask, please remove the terrible window-window tile that I don't know the name of, but it's everywhere now and on some maps they are not as "strong" as they are on macmillan, my absolute least favorite tile in the entire game
On the other hand, if you continue to create all those dashslops like Krasue or reworked Myers, we might need all them pallets ;)

I have a similar issue with the same quest, on PS5. However it's not only that I can't progress or pin it, but I actually had it complete before the new chapter release. It was on 200/200 and on the chapter release day it reverted to 60/200, making my completed quests lower.

oh, I've just seen the tweet lol https://x.com/DeadbyDaylight/status/1909334610204397957

Every match the bots just crouch around, ignore hooks and injured players. In all my matches the bots got the lowest number of points, even if they lived much longer than the real players.
-
If bhvr wants the conditions to improve, they should make the survivor gameplay more enticing, adding bots definitely doesn't do that, in fact, I'm probably gonna take a dbd break for the whole duration of this mode.

There are Built To Last and Exultation that can help with your item charges.

so you cry when it’s killer sided but then don’t complain when it’s survivor sided? Lol
- Who said I didn't? I probably didn't create a post about it, but I defo did complain when playing killer then
- We already had a killer sided anniversary event, both of them actually, it's a bit too much at this point for me, that's why the post
- Also the huge difference between last year's and this one contributed to my frustration enough to speak out about it
-
I played 5 event matches as survivor and just closed the game with no plans to come back anytime soon. Unless I manage to get a full swf, I will probably play only killer for the rest of the event.
It's simply sad, I was really looking forward to this event and it's just a huge disappointment.

Last year the void was basically a free health state for survivors
Yes, last year event was survivors sided. However I don't understand why we had to go from one extreme to another.
-
PS5, happened only once for me since the update, today.
I don't think there was anything special about that match. I played some matches right before and after and it didn't happen other times.
He's the video - it starts in the post game screen, but then stops (I don't remember exactly, but I don't think I clicked anything, it stopped on its own when it switched to the second page of the match summary):
-
Yeah I don't think losing collision should make the killer unable to hit survivors, with any type of attack, it's just about moving past them that I propose.

Roll all of the iterations into one.
Reveals Survivors within 12m of a Scourge Hook, 6m of Regular Hooks and make broken hooks come back in 10 seconds regardless of how they were broken. All at once.
Not sure about all of those stacking, but I really like the broken hooks idea, not hard fixed on 10s though. I think it would be a far too great counter to Breakdown. Though something like making them come back like 33% faster would still be nice.

Another terribly designed map with a bottle neck in the middle that makes it impossible for survivors to win if the killer knows what they're doing. Monitoring the middle part by the killer is too strong.
Otherwise the size and tiles favor survivors.
-
All maps with a bottle neck in the middle ("I" shaped maps, hourglass or whatever you wanna call it) can be very strong for killers - by monitoring the middle they can more easily stop people from passing over to the other side for a save, find survivors, monitor gens, create 3 gens... Same problems appear on azarov's resting place and suffo pit. Maybe somewhere else I can't remember.
Obviously the killer can easily screw it up and let survivors pass, do gens on different sides and so on, but generally if the killer is aware of this advantage, they can easily use it to win.
On this map as well, the high building with open sides gives some killers additional advantage being able to stalk from afar. And obviously it's a great place to look for survivors as well.
I would prefer if the map was shaped like a rectangle with some LoS blockers on the sides of the building, cutting the map in other places so it's not too big.
-
It's mostly fine, just a tiny bit too big maybe? That's why I voted favoring survivors but it's not a strong feeling. I would probably shrink it by like 8m or 16m from the longer side, just a tiny bit.

You don't need to cleanse the trap. You can just crouch and hold crouch while unhooking.
I mean, I know that, but as I mentioned above, most Hags just walk back to the hook so you're forced to trigger it anyways running away... or you keep crouching and still get hit, it's a lose lose situation.
@GroßusSchmiedus said:

I agree with this as i mentioned it on my Hag feedback thread.
However keep in mind the most efficient counter to Hag is to run through traps while she is carrying survivors.
Again, situation that worries me most are not traps around the map I can easily wipe out even in 4s, it's the traps around the hook that are tough to counter with most Hags who just run back to the hook when they suspect someone is going for the unhook. That makes the strategy of running through traps unviable.

I got the shards, so I guess I'm just blind then 🙈 Though I will be monitoring the BPs in case there's a problem with those 😏
Thanks!

@Rizzo said:
The first shards reward will be in around 6 hours, are you sure you did not receive the bloodpoints?
Oh yeah, no shards in fact, I'm looking at the calendar now.
However, I still didn't get the BPs. If I received them, then they got "shadow" added 😔 After logging in I was very observant of everything on the screen to see what I received and didn't see anything appear.
Yesterday I opened the game before the time new things are usually awarded (5/6PM CET), obviously I wouldn't receive the fragments. But then I restarted 2 times after 6PM on purpose to get something and still nothing happened...
Maybe just the "notification" is bugged? I will be checking today for the shards of course.
-
same problem for me, EUE and NAE, today I even got a DC penalty even though everyone got disconnected and the message read it was the server's problem
-
Any word on this? It's still a thing.
-
I had a similar problem described here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/391714/black-ward-bug#latest
-
I've had two people abuse it so far, both reported. I hope they get banned.
-
https://youtu.be/JSPAC-bliDc
RPD typically loads longer, but it shouldn't load that long - even with a DC. So not only is it not faster than a regular DC (before the patch), it's not faster than regular loading (which is what I would expect after having read the patch notes).
Video is 3 minutes, but the actual loading time here circa 2,5 minutes.
-
So I guess my idea actually got implemented for the event 😅
Without different tiers, safety pip and a BP bonus, everything else pretty much checks out 😏
-
I'm assuming some of you already seen the patch notes for the latest release (7.0.2), but for those who didn't - apparently there was a bug causing the adept achievement not to trigger when inside the biopod view as the match was ending. Which I was when I reported it (as you can see on the video), but apparently I wasn't when I finally got it - I just thought the restart helped.
-
Apparently restarting the console makes it work... even though I got other trophies no problem without it...
-
Because it's not meant to, they said it's getting reverted compared to the PTB
-
It should regress after the kick. However note that the standard regression rate (which is applied in this instance as well) is 0.25 charge per minute, so for an "almost full" gen, let's say 89 charges (out of 90) it would take 356 seconds (almost 6 minutes) to fully regress. 1/4 of that time would have to pass for the 4th piston to stop moving (as it starts moving at 75%).
Don't know if that's the case here, but I'm just saying, the dry kicks are not that powerful.
-
Outplaying DH is easy 90% of the time, go watch some good streamers who do it on daily basis. If DH, especially now, is a problem, that's a skill issue, nothing else. Also there are much more killer perks that put survivors in exposed than survivor perks that give them another health state, not to mention powers and addons of some killers.
I can't believe what I'm reading here, honestly. Killer mains thinking loops are unplayable, windows can be vaulted a million times, pallets are unbreakable and can't be bloodlusted easily...
I play survivor/killer 50/50, sometimes I get outplayed, sometimes I outplay others. The goal is never to give one side a considerable advantage, even though the killers have a 60%+ winrate.
Also "its been 2 years of straight up killer nerf" ahahahahahahahah - the first "meta shake up" was literally aimed towards buffing killers, reducing stun times, cooldown on hits, lowering bloodlust. That's what moved the statistics from 50% winrate to 60% on killer.

counterpoint: this should be base. If your 4-man SWF's pro runner is kiting me while the rest of you pop 3 gens, then I should at least get the satisfaction of downing him in one hit once I finally catch him.
And before anyone says "JuST stop ChAsING HIm aNd gO PaRTrol gENs", I'll point out that breaking off the chase to hoof it over to the gens on the other side of the map from where he's kited me to (with a big chance of randomly choosing a gen without any survivors on it) is a terrible move, AND he'll follow me to know exactly where I'm going, and tell his teammates on comms so they can all move to a different gen.
bro... who hurt you like this?

@Batusalen said:
Many things that you said, if not all of them, are result of how you and the people you are matched with play the game. Increased healing times would not have any effect on any of that because it wasn't related to the healing time in the first place. I'm also not good at looping, that's why I have a gen repair build and play in a most stealthy way the games I do as survivor. So, to answer your question: Adapt to the game. Don't pretend for the game to adapt to you.
BTW, funny that you play 50:50 but has nothing to say about the regression perks nerf they also announced. Should they not apply those changes either, or the only we don't like are the healing ones?
I don't really care about CoB or Overcharge, I never use them (unless for a challenge or something).
However, apart from occasional Jolt, I usually run Pain Res, so that's gonna be a big hit, but I know I'll manage somewhat with Deadlock or whatever.
So yeah, I'm mostly unhappy about the healing changes. I can also be happy for regression to be nerfed as survivor and could say I don't like them as killer. I don't have to have one edgy opinion about the whole update that covers all aspects. All changes are catered to different roles in different ways so I'm gonna have separated opinions about each of them for both roles.

I play mostly soloq and yes, the biggest killer is your other teammates. I am usually last man standing but I bring perks that help me get there and survive (sometimes). Spine chill, distortion, low profile, Kindred, etc. If you find yourself in this situation a LOT bring perks/items that help you find hatch or open the gate faster. If you often die before that, embrace playing stealthy. You can usually find time to heal with the right info and good game sense.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
I used to play more stealthy, but now I'm more going for "if the killer gets to me, we shall have a chase". I'm still mostly the last one standing (and I do count for that also when I die after I 1 for 1 when there's no one else left :P).
Distortion and perks like that are great for stealthing, but can often make the killer tunnel out your teammates - since they are the ones being spotted on aura and you never do.
That's basically it, I wanna be able to have a well-rounded match - get some chases, get hooked, do some gens, help some teammates. But in order to do so, I do need some help in the healing department.
-
What's hard to understand here? I exclusively play solo as survivor, but I also play killer. I spend the same time on both roles.
Although even without this explanation, it's impossible to not play solo as killer ;)
I will add "as survivor" I guess...
-
I have the same issue on PS5, Europe

This is the most painful part of this update. It’s disorienting. I’m sure there’s an Engine.ini configuration setting to fix this, but lord knows what that might be. Maybe something related to light/reflections.
maybe though PS players can't change them so wouldn't help me :D

Not that my comment will help in any way, but I also noticed that in my games.

Some killers have weird interactions with the chase mechanic and what is considered a chase, for example when wraith cloaks it breaks chase.
I do realize that, it was a vast variety of killers, Nurses, Deathslingers, Pigs, Bubbas etc.
Also the challenge says nothing about the vaults having to be in one chase so Wraith breaking chase by cloaking shouldn't affect it as long as I get the 4 vaults during any chase with him in one match.
So it seems a bit bugged, but I managed to complete it after having done another challenge and reequipping this one.
-
Okay, I changed the challenge to another, completed it and went back to this one - it still didn't count my vaults from one match, but in the next one it finally clicked.
I still think it's buggy, but switching the challenges helped.
-
"Are you seeing the score event stating that you escaped?" - hmm I didn't think I had to escape for this challenge...? Just regular vaults in a chase, no matter if I escape the chase or the match.
Nah, I chose the challenge after doing another one, I didn't restart the game.
-
I actually like this "bug", gives me more time between the clicks lol
-
PS5 as well, as survivor...
@BHVR give me my pips and items back
-
😭😭😭
-
Same happened to me, I just had to remove it 😔
-
A challenge is supposed to be challenging and this one is just easy.
You know all the challenges that require you to bring specific perks? The ones you don't cry about? Why don't you bring specific perks for this one as well, as mentioned above, enduring, brutal strength.
6 hooks? Really, that is a problem?
-
This achievement is just bad.
The chance of survival is what, 50%*? And you have a max 50% chance of opening a gate (2 gates, 4 survivors), you get like 25% chance in total to open a gate in one match. And that's generous, not counting in many many many other factors.
Now, since you gotta do it 20 times, this means you gotta play on the map at least 80 times. 80 RPD OFFERINGS?! Considering you wouldn't use that many, the amount of trials becomes ridiculous (around 40 maps, 2 RPD ones -> making your chances 20 times smaller = 1600 games without any RPD offerings?!?!).
The math is probably extremely wrong, but kinda makes sense.
I get grindy achievements, I have the plat and 100% from all other DLCs (200/203 trophies on PS, with all new 3 adepts), but this one is by far the worst.
* I think BHVR was going for the 2 escapes per match on average?
-
Since the escape rates in theory should be less than 50% and there are 4 survivors, the chances of getting a single achievement action are pretty slim. Solo Q. Let's pretend it's like 25% at max. That means, to get the full achievement you have to play at least 80 matches on the RPD map.
I get grindy challenges, but this one is a joke.
-
"People say it had no counterplay, but it did. As long as I messed up the shot and sucked at Deathslinger in general it was balanced and counterable."
Lol, a counterplay to a killer should be that they have to mess up. Great logic 🙂
-
The "play as survivor" isn't a requirement since playing as killer you can hear the screams as well. You don't get the notification but if you know rough whereabouts of some survivors, you can guess which gen regressed.
-
I also just realized that survivors without the random perks should get a tiny bonus as well for each teammate running a random build.
