I’ve seen some arguments on Twitter lately so i was just wondering what the take on it was here.. personally I feel like there the characters shouldn’t have set in stone sexualities (lore clearly stating this is who they are and how they identify) I feel like it should be left up to the player to decide.. that way there’s room for new ships and what not..
although here’s how I personally would identify the characters.. I would love to hear feed back so feel free to lemme know if you agree or disagree with anything - !!!!!! EDIT: THIS IS MY OPINION AND IM NOT SAYING THIS SHOULD BE CANNON !!!! SORRY IF IT DOESNT MATCH YOURS !!!!!!
dwight - gay
meg - bi
claudette - straight or asexual
jake - straight/possibly pan?
nea - lesbian
Ace - straight (although he’s a bit flamboyant he strikes me as they type to be a bit of a homophobe)
Feng - Straight
David - Bi
Kate - straight/bi-curious
Adam - Straight
Jeff - Bi/Pan
Jane - Pan
Yui - Lesbian
Zarina - Bi
Felix - straight/possibly bi?
why do you go out of your way to give one of the few straight guys on your list an extra little bigoted view to go along with his sexuality?

Something that is heavily RNG isn't a crutch. The killer got screwed by RNG. As you said, RNG can be a #########.
And no, my scenario is exactly the same scenario that you described, only for killers; the elusive survivor that completely earned his escape yet can't because the exit gates spawned within eyesight of each other.
This just in: Killers aren't entitled to a 4k and survivors aren't entitled to an escape.
OK! you laughed at noed being compared to hatch, then brought up a completely different scenario. Hatch is a gift for survivors that requires no perk to utilize. And you agreed that a perk that is RNG isnt a crutch so thank you for agreeing that noed is not a crutch.

It's no different than the survivor who unhooks everyone, completes a majority of generators, and never gets downed losing because the doors spawned within sight of each other.

So just a whole different scenario? You questioned how noed, a perk that can be countered, could be compared to a hatch that spawns irregardless of a perk. Yes rng can be a #########. However it doesn't negate the fact that the hatch is a built in "noed" for survivors that they didn't use a perk slot to take advantage of. By noed I mean a crutch that gives a "win" to someone who didn't earn it.

I have never seen Hatch compared to NOED before. Thanks for the laugh!
How is it different? Besides the hatch happens for any survivor at the cost of no perk slot. If running a perk can be considered a crutch surely escaping through hatch when you brought nothing and did nothing besides finding it first is a crutch

Frankly killers should ALWAYS get one kill. But not guaranteed. Hatch is NOT guaranteed. Frankly you are too ignorant to see my correct rebuttals. Hatch doesnt guarantee anything meaning it isnt unfair nor sided to one side and if you try and say that then hatch is actually killer sided. And if a team sucks they dont deserve escape but the killer shouldnt get a free kill. They need to earn it. Earning 3 doesnt mean you earned 4. If you get screwed over by hatch thats different but usually you don't see many dc to hatch. You see a person escape because they found it first. If the survivors LET you kill them you don't deserve any of those kills and you DON'T deserve the last one. And this is what I mean by circumstances. You REFUSE to think like me so you can't look past a one sided argument you dont know how to do anything but use 1 scenario that makes it worse than reality. As I said you are BIASED.
Lol OK. Small minds. Hatch is a gift for survivors, at best for killers its more blood points and a lame stop gap from survivors holding the game hostage. You do you i understand entitlement is a prevailing characteristic in society these days.

As well as changing perks for both sides.
Whenever I play as survivor, whether soloQ or with friends (not a full group) I always feel growing aversion whenever a random survivor switches last second from an survivor they obviously haven't leveled much yet (if at all) to an obvious p3 50 nea or laurie (it's always nea or laurie, lbr), usually with a flashlight.
Especially when you want to bring back MMR proper and working, this does need to stop:
No more character changes (aside from offerings and outfits, maybe add-ons) of the characters and their perks once you enter a lobby for either side.
As a killer main I disagree, survivors need to switch in lobby to match thier team. I'll agree the last second switch is unfortunate but I can't see a way to avoid it

So if onr survivor is left for any reason they don't deserve to escape or have points? But killers do. That is bias and bias has no place in a logical argument of 2 mature people. So if you refuse to actually take circumstances in and then argue around it I want to ask you to stop replying. I am tired of arguing with people who just arent good at it.
Just because you cant refute an argument doesn't make it not good. Why should 1 survivor be "rewarded" with a free escape they didn't earn? If a killer has sacrificed 3 survivors with multiple gens why should 1 survivor be gifted a win. Would you be OK with a button that the killer can find if the exit gates are powered that instantly killed one survivor? Should not the killer get at least one kill since they came to the game?

And there you go. I'm not a bad survivor but I've escaped through hatch. It rewards whoever finds it first and if the killer knows where it is, GAME OVER. How long does it take to wiggle out of grasp? In that time the killer can bring the body closer to hatch. People dont use their brain properly when talking about hatch. I cant blame them because not everyone has a brain that can think of multiple outcomes so im not gonna insult them. But you have to think how easy it is to counter. Gens are harder to deal with and yet that is not a get out of jail free card? Survs can make multiple mistakes and gens stay there.
Again its completely free.... you don't have to bring anything to benefit from the hatch. Killer has a great game hooking everybody and loses a kill because the survivor found the hatch they did nothing to earn? Again if noed is a crutch that bad killers use at the cost of a perk slot, the hatch escape is equivalent or worse. Its also not game over if the killer finds it because the survivor can still escape from the exit gate.

It absolutely is free.... did you run a perk to have the hatch spawn? No its just something that, originally was intended to stop survivors from holding the game hostage, but now has devolved to the second to last survivor sitting on waiting for his teammate to die. People love saying that noed is a crutch but at least it costs a perk slot.

@SurvivorNotPlayable said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/91382/change-the-hatch
No because you have to think how often does that last survivor actually get the hatch? Killers typically pay attention to their environment (they have to) throughout the game and will know where it’s at by the time you’re last alive. Besides there is also a time period after 3rd guy dies where it stays closed giving the killer time to get to the hatch and take you out before it opens for you. Also, yes the survivors have to work together that’s the point of 4v1. But the survivors are weak as hell 😂 overly nerfed in my opinion. How hard is it for you to do your objective as killer? Once you get one it kind of snowballs in your favor all of the time. It’s too easy. Moris and hook camping have some Damn sympathy for survivors they are real players too. Quite frankly survivor is absolutely an atrocious experience because the killer wins way more than i do. It’s not balanced at all. People complain and they buff killers every time a new patch rolls in
Hatch is a free noed for survivors, a way to "win" a match when they have clearly lost. Yet costs no perk slots and is always there

I agree that SWF is not inherently broken, but it can easily become problematic. The problem here is you cant really reach a solution that does not directly or indirectly nerf SWFs.
Swf is not broken in the confines of the game, its the added communcstion that cones with 3rd party voip that becomes the unfair part. Its absurd that a in-game chat hasn't been introduced. Adding this and balancing around it is the only way to address this problem.

@HellCatJane said:
Killer's do not need to 4k every game... Devs have said they wanted balance (most games/ average 2k and 2 escape). The killer mindset of must 4k is sort of meh to me...
From killer aspect I enjoy hatch. Hatch is also a way that a killer can use to not be held hostage themselves... forcing end game and the timer. Patrol the doors, either see the survivor kill them, or timer goes out and kills them. (Without hatch a door has to be open in order for the endgame.. That seems worse to me than having hatch, because end game I just want to get on with the next one. personally.)
As it was mentioned above the "horror"/"scary" aspect of it, is nice from the survivor aspect.
It seems pretty balanced to me.
While accurate that the hatch is good because it intiates the end game, it could have easily been implemented that if a survivor hasn't done anything to progress the game for x amount of time the end game happens. This way no hostage taking and no robbing a killer of a kill when they have 1 survivor left with many objectives left undone.

So I love how people complain about hatch. Its a mechanic with a good use. "It rewards bad survivors." Ok so what if there is a 3 man swf who dc and one solo? Oh so you dont care about that person? And they gotta care about you. Hypocrisy. If it comes down to a hatch game, chances are you have enough points, deal with it. I love how just because a game goes in your favor you NEED that 4k.
You move faster so you have a higher chance of finding it. And you have hatch priority so that's a added bonus. And lets not forget if two survs are left and the hatch spawns just find it chances are they arent gonna rush that gen with 2 people. You complain for not getting the max points you can when hatch games usually result in 10k less points for surv than you and if you think survs are entitled because they don't want tunnelers And campers imagine wanting a 4k no matter what happens.
You have a choice to find it and when they get it you complain. Ik this isnt everyone but seriously everyone who does complain wants 4k that's selfish all they care about is their game and not the others. So keep in mind its a mechanic for a reason and has been balanced to soothe killers feelings. And most of the time you don't escape through the hatch, not everyone is monto and they say oh the doors spawn soooo far away. Then why do the doors always spawn 40 meters from each other when im the last one left?! If the doors are so survivor sided why is it so easy to kill the last person when the hatch is closed?!
the hatch is exactly as rewarding for the one survivor who finds it, assuming no key, as noed. yet noed takes a whole perk slot and has the chance of being completely negated. The hatch is in the game for one reason and one reason only, because the game was going to die if it kept letting that one try hard survivor extending games out forever. so those survivors were rewarded with a coin flip get out of jail free card, that costs no perk slot.

I got into a match with a rank 8 Leatherface running Insidious. I was the unlucky first to be found and downed. They went out of their way to hook me in the basement, then proceeded to stand still behind the wall and lockers that face the stairs and wait there until someone came to get me, and then instadown them with his chainsaw. Rinse and repeat until all survivors are dead. Camping is one thing, but this I just felt was beyond toxic, so I used the in game report system. Was I wrong to do so?
yes, absolutely. what did you actually report?

Red ranks are usually always running the same OP meta tier perks over and over, while I see more variety in builds in purple and green ranks.
Yesterday I got into red ranks, and game are alllways the same thing.
Seriously, you guys that run the exact same build over and over, are just boring. There are more perks in the game you know?
I've noticed that obviously, to reach red ranks you need a certain amount of skill, but another reason to reach red ranks, is because you are using meta perks, that's all.
I rather derank at keep playing in purple ranks, before being forced to play meta perks in all of my games.
It's a vicious cicle. Killers or survivors, use meta perks. Then the ones that didn't use them, may feel bad about their performance. Then, they realize they "have to use" meta perks. Then they use meta perks and they make the other side think the same ######### again.
You see what I mean?
Please, try different new builds, don't be afraid of changing one perk slot for something you might have wanted to try before. Same with add-ons.
I know, It was so hard for me at first to get rid of my BBQ+pop, but it gets better, believe me. You feel better when you are experimenting and trying new stuff.
Finally, I'm not saying "NEVER EVER RUN META PERKS". Just that you know, there is a wide roster of perks and add-ons in the game, you can always try something new.
I mean in every game as you go up in skill level the meta becomes increasingly more important. as the gap in skill shrinks the strength of the build you are running become more important. I feel like this plays out in every aspect of life.

This is true, DS never was an anti tunnel perk, it's a perk that let's the survivor have a guarantee wiggle, the original was too strong, because if all 4 survivors had it, all 4 survivors could stun the killer on their first down.
The new DS is in a good place, the condition for it to activate is after you've been unhooked for 60 seconds, if the killer tunnels you they get stunned, if the killer finds you within those 60 seconds they also get stunned. It's in a good place right now, anyone who had to deal with the original DS would know that.
so you are contending that a killer should be able to keep 2-3 mental clocks going on how long its been since they saw and downed a survivor they were not intending to tunnel? a clock that doesn't start when they hook, but starts after they get unhooked? all too often i see survivors search out the killer after being unhooked with DS to get "value" out of the perk. why are you advocating for such a baby hand holding perk. tunneling killers should be punished to an extent however survivors who jump into a locker, those that jump right on a gen, or heal brazenly at the base of the hook knowing they are better served as a sacrificial lamb to get the 5 second stun off this is not very sportsmanlike.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Examples of tunneling: downing and hooking the unhooked survivor before they have to recuperate
Examples of camping: staring at the hook waiting to zoom in after someone going for the save
No exceptions...some forms of camping and tunneling are more toxic/unreasonable but that doesn't change that it's all the same. Camping and tunneling aren't dirty words, they are determined by definition and not emotion. I do agree DS needs to deactivate when repairing or unhooking while BT needs to based on range and require that the killer have been purposefully sitting around the hook.
there is no definition of camping or tunneling. as its not referenced anywhere in the game. they do not exist. they are colloquialisms that some players have used to describe behavior.

I would like to take a moment on this thread to say that the devs did say no matter what side you're on the connection will change the outcome. Meaning if you as a survivor have poor connection or the killer has better connection than you, theres a good chance some weird hits will happen, because validation goes both ways. That hit, on video, from the stretched resolution (not saying thats bad or done on purpose in just saying the resolution makes distances harder to tell) and the fact that you medium vaulted, tells me that hit 100% registered on the killers side before you even vaulted that window. Meaning your connection was weaker. Killers are getting more "questionable" hits because survivors aren't being helped by poor connection either, like they used to. If you lag switch as survivor, youre gonna get screwed, judt like if you lag switch as a killer. Thats the goal of the system, fairness.
Exactly this. With ping stuff like this is always going to happen. Just now with a neutral observer you can be more sure its your potato connection that is the culprit
-
Could this not be a case of the survivor with a bad connection and in reality the killer was much closer. That's the thing with server-side both sides are going to have cases where what they see doesn't jive with how the server sees it. Like an umpire in a baseball game sometimes they see things differently.

Yes status effects that increase bleeding don't increase blood orbs. The inconvenience that is seen from no mither, pales to what a terrible time it would be if oni could use those perks. He would never not have his power.

Hex perks supposed to be thoes strong perks that can be dostoy easy and lose it for the rest of the game ( even tho only 2 hex are worth using right now). So by adding a cooldown you make the perk proc less time becauses most hex perks will last about 2 min max and with cooldown of 60 sec that's mean you can use it at best 2 times in the wole game in oeder to have a mediocre effect.
Perhaps they feel 2 uses in a match is the desired effect. I would rather get instant use from a perk instead of a perk that i have to get 5 tokens on based on conditions a little out of my control, that gets cleansed 99 percent of the time before reaching even 3 tokens

Just to mention: there is totally no need that the killer forces the survivor into the bug, to call it an exploit. The bug can happen without killer action, the exploit comes afterwards
Where the offending player is deliberately causing the bug to get an unfair advantage. By your logic survivors can be reported for continuing to play against an oni who hugs out and can’t use his power

Why it is the killers responsibility to not abuse bugs? because it is bug abuse!!
If it happens during a chase it is another thing, we can discuss. It should not be a problem if the survivor was already injured. If the survivor already looped the killer for 30+ seconds without even being it, then the survivor loses more value than the killer.
Then the only fair option here is to ignore them until they are the last survivor. Down them at the end pick them up and drop them and hope they can stand up on their own. Unless the killer is forcing them into the bug it’s not bug abuse because the above scenario is the only “fair” way to handle this. If the killer playing like normal when the survivor is stuck is bug abuse then the other survivors playing like normal is to. Go ahead and report away I am sure no killer is going to get banned for this, also take solace that do to your entitled rants I will never help out a survivor in this situation again.

They are taking advantage...of a glitch. What do you not understand about this? And why are you typing so furiously about it? What's wrong with YOU? Have some empathy to the situation. People getting stuck in the hill is not their fault. It IS the fault of the killer when they take advantage of the situation and hook the person, especially if they're the last one. It's an easy kill, it takes no effort, and it's not the fault of the survivor for getting stuck. What makes you think people have the time to consider that ONE point on the map while being chased or trying to avoid being chased? You are being such an ironic person. :/
why is the killer expected to fix a bug? if the killer has been chasing someone for 30+ seconds and then they get stuck should they just eat that time? are the other survivors not exploiting the game when they continue to do objectives while the killer is playing bug fixer forgoing a down to be altruistic? you are wrong about it not being the fault of the survivor, when it first came out sure, but everybody knows now about the hill glitch running right there is absolutely their fault, its not the killers fault. the fact is IF the killer decides to down and drop out of the glitch you should be singing their praises eternally grateful for their benevolence.

is it fair for a killer to sacrifice a long chase just because the survivor gets stuck at the end? its not fair for anybody but its not an exploit or bug abuse.

and why is this the killers responsibility. the other survivors all benefit from the killer wasting time giving up a down. if you were chasing the survivor for 30+ seconds and then they get stuck you think its fair to expect killers to just junk all that time?

It is a bug abuse. You could at least hit him twice, down him, pick him up and put him down outside of the bug area. You get a free down, you get someone else off a gen to heal him up for free and you don't know how much time this survior already wasted being stuck there. That's what I do and whay I get from most killers when someone on my team got stuck. It is simply fair play.
Although I wouldnt do that for people that tbagged me before. Feels good to see these guys stuck and slowly bleed out...
Anyway, as much as I love a-holes being stuck, maybe try this. Hope it helps anyone. Let me know pls when anyone saw this video and it helped him get out:
A free down doesn't do much. I typically do this myself, unhook and put down outside the stuck. however the killer taking valuable time out of his game to help someone stuck, with absolutely no benefit kinda sucks. if the killer is expected to "fix this bug" then all of the survivors should stand in place until he moves the player. because it can easily be seen as the other survivors taking advantage and abusing the bug. Also don't tea bag at the gates and be toxic in endgame chat when the killer does help like this, which has happened to me twice.

the Bloodweb stops counting your progress as soon as you hit level 50, however that doesnt mean you wouldnt be able to continue leveling the characters.
completing a lvl 50 bloodweb will grant you another lvl 50 bloodweb, therefore you can get unlimited amounts of Add Ons, Offerings and all Perks.
additionally, once your bloodweb hits level 50 you actually get two perks each level, which makes it even easier to get all the perks on a character (you have 4 perks to pick from, two of which will be eaten by the entity)
prestige is just there to grant you the bloody cosmetics, a slightly higher chance for more rare stuff and a feeling of satisfaction. its not necessary at all, however should you want to prestige i would suggest you dont max out a character without it then, otherwise you are going to waste a lot of time and ressources, as prestige deletes all your characters progress.
you should also not instantly prestige a character you hit lvl 50 with, instead you will want to level a second character to level 50, so you can reset one of them without losing everything at once and being able to keep playing normally with others to get the points to further level the freshly prestiged character.
thank you! this is exactly what i was looking for!

Well the way it is now is not acceptable so taking steps to bridge the wide gap between swf and solos is the only option, they aren't taking swf out cause there are people that just want to casually play with there friends and not all swf are tryhards.
If bridging it to be atleast close enough helps the solo experience be more enjoyable I'm all for it cause i only play solo, if killers suffer because of that then they should help them out as well cause i just want the game to be fun for everyone.
The only way to bridge that gap is to make native voice comms. But then all the solos gnash their teeth at that. Giving multiple avenue of hud/aura reading will ruin the game as the gleaning of information mid game via exploration and perks is nearly the whole game at its core

not fast enough to make up for every little hit box collision or the "slight" recuperation period.

Was playing killer tonight and was doing fairly well as Leatherface and got a good 4K on a swf team that brought a key.
Post game chat they accused BBQ of being OP and carrying me the whole game. Honestly i just put on for points i forget that it shows aura for like 2 seconds.
Do survivors feel that way actually? Im just curious, because i think Infectious is worse honestly.
here is a tip to enjoy the game. never, ever, not once, even a little bit, take the sad tears of a salty loser as gospel. you could put anything in their favor and they will say your 'w' key is op. some people just cant handle things.

That still remains in line with the devs philosophy with totems & Hexes.
They cant be removed without survivors spending time finding and cleansing them. It’s one of the key fundamental ways the game can be stalled for killers. Something which they often overlook by getting too focused on the loss of a hex instead.
Undying + any other Hex isn’t simply about keeping a hex in the game longer, it’s about creating further stall in the game.
exactly this. its a semi elegant way to extend the game and kinda extends the reward vs risk of hex at the expense of 50% of your perks. I think they are strong but OP is just more hyperbole
