  • I'm the kind of person who spends a lot of money on cosmetics in almost all of the games I play, so maybe I'm biased, but in my opinion the prices are fine. They're on-par with most other games (fortnite, Apex, identity v, etc), and they allow you to buy exactly what you want. No needless bundles that make you spend 20 dollars to get the one item you want out of the 5 items in the bundle, no loot box/gacha system that fuel gambling addictions and make you rely on luck and rng, and absolute customizability among the options you have. In fortnite, you pay 8-20 dollars for a skin that you can't mix and match. Dbd has entirely reasonable prices.

  • Its supposed to be coming December 14th, alongside the Feng Min Demon Hunter skin. At least, last time I checked.

  • I've been playing all night, and I've gotten

•2 camping/tunnelling ghostfaces, one of which moried everyone he could off of first hook.

•2 tunnelling huntresses, one of which tunnelled and moried off first hook (it backfired on her horribly since the one she tunneled actually knew how to loop, and 3 of us escaped)

•1 tunnelling Freddy, who I unfortunately got paired against twice in a row.

•3 killers who played "fair", a Deathslinger, a Spirit, and a Demo.

I put fair in quotation marks as of course it's all subjective. I just quantify it as no noticeable "toxic" behavior, no ######### talking in chat afterwards, overall making the game enjoyable. I still died against all 3 of them, which is worth note. You really don't need bloodlust to win, but it seems like in it's absence killers have caved and started playing scummy. The first day BL was taken away, I noticed it was slightly easier on the survivor side, and I escaped a majority of my games. I think killers noticed that too and this is the result.

  • Same. And it's ALWAYS a "Rite" challenge, not a chase challenge or sacrifice challenge. I hateeee hate hate playing killer most of the time, and watching my rerolls come up as killer too makes me wanna pull my hair out. In the last week and a half, I've only gotten 3 survivor challenges. Feelsbadman.

  • Kate technically fought off the entity once before getting pulled into the realm, if it's a struggle against the entity I'm putting my money on her. She's definitely got the mental fortitude needed as well, considering she's said to remain hopeful and optimistic even in the fog.

Besides her, Jake probably has a good shot too. He's an outdoorsman, and a survivalist. If it's a case of simply finding your way out through the endless fog/woods, he's the most likely to be able to not lose his way.

  • I am a huge hater of NOED. Its a perk basically saying, "Here, you couldn't do your job good enough while you were supposed to, so let's strap on the training wheels and give you your participation trophy!" Very rarely do I see it used by a killer who was any good, and that's because, well, it's not a very good perk. It only activates in the end-game, and you could run any number of better perks that would help you more throughout the whole game. So, no, it doesn't need to be nerfed. I'd really like it to be removed from the game entirely, but that'll never happen.

  • Twins are scheduled to be released on console December 1st afaik.

  • I'm reeeeeally surprised nobody has said Jake yet. Jake is hands down the BEST stealth survivor. Iron Will makes it so that you make no noise when injured, so you can still hide without being given away by your groans of pain. Calm Spirit is pretty decent too when it comes to stealth, you don't alert crows and you don't scream, so it counters Doctor who is the biggest counter killer to a stealth survivor. His other perk, Saboteur, isn't as good as it used to be... But it's still fun to meme around with in certain situations.

I went from being a feng main when I first started to being a Jake main, actually, because I loved his perks so much!

  • I really suggest reading the emblem wiki so you get a really clear idea of how emblems work, and how to max them.

That being said, the build I find it easiest to pip with is: Borrowed Time, We'll Make It, Dead Hard, Spine Chill. Spine chill can be swapped out with something else, Decisive or Iron Will would be a good replacement, I just need spine chill because I'm not very observant and stealth killers always get me.

Borrowed and We'll Make It work really well in maxing out your altruism fast, and it comes in handy when killers are using sloppy since you heal people at double the speed for a minute and a half after unhooking. Faster heals means you're back on a gen or in a chase sooner.

Dead Hard, when it doesn't leave you exhausted on the ground, is the best chase perk hands down. If you ######### up a loop, you've got a second chance. Or, if you didn't ######### up, you can still use it to gain distance and keep the killer occupied even longer.

So, those perks take care of altruism and boldness, but then of course Gens need to get done. The only gen speed perk is Prove Thyself, and while it's one of my favorite perks, I wouldn't recommend it if you're trying to pip. It shortens the game, and when you fill up your objective points you're less likely to want to keep working on gens. However, full objective points with prove thyself will only leave you with a silver emblem most of the time. So, just do gens normally.

Finally, the 2-2-2 rule that others have mentioned is literally invaluable. I used to think I was doing enough when I was in purple ranks, and I didn't understand why I wasn't pipping, but then I started actually keeping track of the 2-2-2 rule and it got a lot easier.

  • @Blueberry said:

Why wouldn't it be better to just make DS better at preventing tunneling and less frustrating for killer by fixing the abusable parts of it that aren't tunneling?

I don't think that would be any better or any worse than adding another perk that prevents tunneling in a different way. More perk diversity is always good.

  • I totally agree about the bloodpoint thing, we need more bp per match. Its super tedious to level characters up once you've unlocked all the perks, since you ha e to go through a million random perks on your web before you get the one you actually want.

I used to agree that ranking up was too hard too, but now I'm less on board with that ideology. The 2-2-2 rule was really useful for me when I started trying for rank 1. 2 full gens, 2 safe unhooks (it's ideal that you heal them afterwards too for max gain), and 2 chases. When I started using that as a guideline, I pipped up almost every game. In literally two nights took me from being hardstuck rank 3-4, to now staying being between 1-2. Idek what I was doing before I started doing that system, I thought I was doing enough, but apparently I wasn't. If you wanna look more in detail about how to guarantee yourself a pip each match, read through the emblem wiki! It helped me a ton.

Honestly legionndoesn't even need a complete overhaul of their power like doc or freddy. I'd say they need an addon pass, MANY quality of life changes, and they could also make deep wounds an actual threat instead of a minor annoyance.

The good news is that deep wounds is supposedly already being looked at, so he may be getting some buffs through that aspect. I definitely agree on the add-ons, his iridescents are so meh and the rest... Rarely worth it. I just use the cool down reductions and frenzy duration increasers, and the rest.... They're just piling up. Hopefully in a future update they get to doing that.

  • Normally I wait until the lobby to see what others are bringing. Already 2 flashlights? I'll switch to a med kit. Do we look like a promising team? I'll equip an escape cake. Sometimes I'll swap characters if someone else is playing the one I was on, and then I've gotta fix my loadout to what I want on them.

I've been a blight main for a while now, and after just starting on legion it feels so horrible. I could count so many instances where I would've downed survivors if I was playing blight.

But instead I have to wait an agonizing 4 seconds as I watch a survivor make it to a safe loop that would cost me a gen to run.

Yeah, it's frustrating af. I play other killers for the dailies/tomes when I need to, and most of them feel like you get much more worth out of their power than you do Legion's. I won't lie, I only play legion because I like the character(s) as a whole and I can't bring myself to level up other killers when I very rarely play as killer anyway. Almost any other killer is better than Legion, and anyone who disagrees with that just hates Legion because he's "unfun" to play against. The reward/cost ratio of his power isn't worth it half the time.

When a killer is LESS scary/threatening while using their power, it's a bad thing. If you're injured (which you usually are against legion) and you see Legion frenzy towards you, you're probably gonna be inclined to take the hit since he'll run off to hit someone else. You shouldnt WANT to be hit by someone's power, but injured survivors do, so he leaves them alone for a while. He needs some big changes, because as he is now, he may be unfun, but every game I play against another legion is usually an easy escape.

  • Yep, I'm right there with you. I main legion on the few occasions I play killer, and his power is needlessly punished. No scratch marks, long stun at the end, power ends if you miss or if you hit a person a second time, no way to kill people with your power.

The reason for this? Legion is not allowed to have nice things, because survivors hate him and devs don't know what to do to make him less hateable.

  • People have already covered tbagging, so I won't mention it much, but a little "manners" thing to do is to crouch twice quickly after someone heals you, it's a little thank you.

Also, if you're the last survivor and the killer picks you up, don't wiggle unless you're sure you can get out. If you wiggle, you're definitely not getting mercy. If you don't wiggle... You might have a generous killer who gives you hatch. All depends though.

If you're on hook and there's only one other person left, and they're not coming to get you/standing somewhere gesturing, then that probably means they found hatch and want you to die on your hook asap. You don't have to, of course, but sometimes it's the best thing to do if they were a good teammate.

If you get unhooked and the killer isn't nearby, let your teammate heal you under hook, or at least nearby. Don't run off half way across the map, it's annoying.

If youre opening a chest and someone (especially an Ace) comes up to you and gestures for you to get off of it, it might be good to listen. The person might be running chest perks, and if they're an Ace that's very likely. They can get you a better item. Be wary though, they might just take the item for themselves, so it's a risk/reward type deal.

IMPORTANT TIP: DO N O T unhook teammates while the killer is right up on them, wait a few seconds after they walk away to unhook if you can. Use borrowed time if you're going to make risky saves. Also, if the killer is coming back while you're unhooking, take a protection hit if you can afford to. Don't just run away and leave the person you unhooked in the dust to get hooked again.

A VERY IMPORTANT TIP: 99% the exit gates instead of opening them!!!! Don't fully open the exit gates until everyone is at the gates, another gate is opened, or the killer is coming up on you. It gives your teammates less time to escape safely, make saves, and may bite you if the killer is using blood warden.

That's about all! I know a lot of people will say that following these guidelines is stupid, you should just play how you like to play, but this is how I like to play and playing conscientiously like this has never hindered my enjoyment of the game, in fact, it's only enhanced it because it makes you come across as a good teammate.

They're never going to give that mask away again unfortunately.

They only way you were able to get the Mask in the first place was to support Deathgarden, another asymmetrical game Behavior made that already died.

The people who have it pretty much paid money for it, so it's highly unlikely that it'll come back to buy or distribute for free again.

You can still get it for free on pc. I play ps4, but got dbd on my PC when it was on sale just to try it out, and downloaded deathgarden from steamdb for absolutely free just to get the mask.

  • This is my Altruism-Steve build if you're into playing babysitter: Borrowed Time, Babysitter, We'll Make It, We're Gonna Live forever. Bring a flashlight for saves or a medkit to really drive home the "I'm gonna get you out of this alive no matter how much you suck!".

My genrush build (works best with a duo/SWF ofc, all bring toolboxes and double up on gens when possible): Prove Thyself, Streetwise, Built To Last, and the third perk is left open to whatever.

My friend's memey Ace build: Pharmacy, Ace In The Hole, Plunderer's/Up the Ante, Slippery Meat.

My "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" build, Borrowed Time, Prove Thyself, Detective's Hunch, Exhaustion perk of your choice. Youve got safe unhooks covered, you've got fast gens, you can easily find totems, and you've got a chase extender.

  • I literally give songs to characters in my head 24/7,,,, I love this question. Sorry of you disagree with any of them, a lot of them are influenced by fanon personalities/my own interpretations of the characters, not just what the canon lore gave us, but I think they fit that too :)

Oh No! By Marina And the Diamonds for Jane.

Burn The House Down by AJR, and Who's Laughing Now by Jessie J for Zarina.

The Man by Taylor Swift for Yui.

One of the Drunks by P!ATD, and Raise Your Glass by Pink for Ace.

Leave Me Alone by IDKHow for Jake (this one is more for my personal version of Jake but it still fits regular Jake,,, resentful of the wealthy and wanting to distance himself from his family.

The Anthem by Good Charlotte, Revolution Radio by Green Day for Nea.

Karma by AJR, and Semi-Automatic by TØP for Quentin 💗

Power Over Me by Dermot Kennedy for David.

And then, for comedy's sake, I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor for Dwight.

It seems like it'd work decently well, though what happens if BT is double stacked?

And then theres the obvious "But DS" that would make this a complete ######### but this clearly wasn't designed like that.

Bodyguard would trump BT, the deep wound effect would take place and the unhooker would be injured when the unhooked survivor is hit. Basically, running BT with it would be pointless.

I personally hate DS as killer and survivor so yeah, I didn't think much about it when making this perk. Im not sure how the combo would fare, but I'd love ideas on it if you have any.

  • @MadLordJack said:

So, BT but longer and with a downside? Yeah, I'd run it if it had a 60 second duration and maybe a neato secondary effect, like temp aura reading for the bodyguard.

Yep! That was the exact intention :) Stronger BT but with a downside to make sure it's not TOO strong, and to make it actually act as an anti-tunneling Perk by giving killers incentive to chase someone else if they hit the unhooked survivor, because then someone else will be injured. A secondary effect like you said would give it the edge it needs to find its way into people's builds, so I'm all for that!

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Isn't there already another anti tunnel perk called babysitter?

Yep, that's Steve's perk! Its not very similar to this perk though, it's an okay perk paired with BT- I actually run that on my Altruism-Steve build. Still, all that does on its own is hide the unhooked survivor's scratch marks and blood for 8 seconds. This would be more aligned with BT than that, but still unique.

If theres one thing I've learn from this "game" it's to never assume your teammates are good. Always assume they're potatoes in need of constant saving. Then when they do good thats when you apply praise to the potatoes

Lmao, you've got me there. For every God tier Steve, there's an Urban Evasion blendette... Or two or three blendettes. Still, I'm big on altruism and never opposed to dying for my teammates, even if they don't always deserve it.

  • @TheMythicalCat said:

DS just needs to have a deactivation method. Either another survivor gets hooked, you get fully healed, or you start working on a gen. With that, it will still be a very effective anti-tunneling tool, but wont punish Killers for leaving the person alone and finding them again before the timer runs out. While another anti-tunneling perk wouldn't be the worst thing, we already have two, one of which is just a better version of this one, and the other being one of the strongest perks in the game.

That's fair, but like you said, another anti-tunneling Perk wouldn't be bad, and they seem to be running out of completely unique perk ideas (ffs, Felix got Deja Vu 2.0 with a cool down, the solo version of Streetwise, and survivor version of Thana). I'd personally use this perk over BT since it has a longer guarantee time, and it has the higher risk for the higher amount of Killer time you can waste. DS is one of my least favorite perks even as survivor because even when I do get to use it, all it seems to do is just piss the killer off and make them tunnel harder.

  • @KA149108 said:

So.... Borrowed time but abit stronger for killer as it inflicts damge on another survivor? I see what you are saying and it might be better but would be good to keep the killer stun for 5 seconds.

Stronger for killer but also strong for survivors because it lasts much longer, assuming your teammate is decent at looping. If the killer tunnels the survivor off hook for 45 seconds, only to hit them and find they have Bodyguard, then they have to decide whether or not to waste more time tunneling to try and down them, or they can stop tunneling and try to find the unhooker, since now they have incentive to because they're injured. Its a time waster for killers, and a big benefit for those getting tunnelled, but much less frustrating than a DS stun for killers.

I personally don't like DS that much, because it just makes killers that much more inclined to tunnel you once you use it in my experience.

  • @JUSTDOITForTheLULZ said:

Its basically just a stronger version of Borrowed Time. One question why would the unhooking survivor take the damage? The survivors that get unhooked could just stand there and get hit to just give damage to other people. It's a good idea but I feel like it could be trolled

A lot of perks in the game are just stronger/weaker/conditional versions of other perks in the game, that's the once argument I don't like against perks.

I made it so the unhooking survivor takes damage so that it doesn't feel OP when it acts like a 60 second borrowed time. It could definitely be trolled, you're right about that. For an SWF or when you get teammates who don't try to grief (which is honestly more common than getting those who DO try to grief), that's not much of an issue though. Its a risk/reward type perk, with a good reward. Plus, it gives the killer incentive to stop tunneling the unhooked survivor since now another person is injured/down. If the killer tunnels the unhooked survivor for 45 seconds off hook, and then hits them only to find that they had Bodyguard, they can either continue to waste time chasing them, or give up and stop tunneling, and go look for the damaged unhooker.

  • I know it was a bug fix", but I soooo agree. Facial hair on Jake is soooo ugly :( I always wear his p3 head bc default Jake head is his best head, which is why I liked the new rift one so much! It would have looked great with the neon outfit but now I'm neeeeever wearing it :(

  • How about the tree that looks big enough to squeeze through the gap between it and the wall, but is actually too small for anyone?

My peanut brain just barely knows how to loop, I once cucked myself 3 times in the same chase by running into that tree.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

I don't know anyone who likes playing against Legion, Slinger or Clown so...Idk lmao. The survivors you're playing against are probably sick of these killers and just don't wanna play against them, they're played a lot. So this is what they do instead of DCing because that would give them a penalty.

I second this. I rarely kill myself on hook, but the times I have is when it's a Bubba or a Clown. They're just so annoying I s2g, I hate them so much I could rant for hours but this isn't a discussion about that lol. People will kill themselves if they're not having fun, and those killers- while not the strongest- are antifun.

  • I'd love if they did something like this, but make twitch shirts for every character, and rotate monthly whose shirt can be warned through streams, like OW is doing with their current Contenders skins.

  • I was talking about reworks for Quentin's perks with someone a while back, I agree. I think that Pharmacy should guarantee you a medkit in EVERY chest you search. There's really no reason that would be unbalanced imo, and it fits the name better. After all, you don't go to a pharmacy to get a brown toolbox.

Vigil, I'd like to see completely reworked, and I had some ideas for that, but I won't mention them here since we're just talking about buffs.

I'd also like to see Wake Up reworked, and had ideas for that too, but I think that a good buff would just be to make it faster opening, as you said, and make it so that you can see the aura of other people opening the exit gates, instead of just them being able to see you. It would come in handy in solo to make sure both gates are 99d.

  • I main legion when I play killer, although I main survivor. I think he needs a rework of his power. When being hit by a killer's power is a good thing, that's a bad thing. Frenzy is the least threatening power in the game, tied in uselessness with wraith's pseudo invis and pig's bear traps. I'm only in green ranks as killer, but red rank as survivor, and in neither rank do people really treat frenzy as something to rub away from since most Legions play hit and run even with injured survivors.

I really don't know what they could do with him that wouldn't make people mad, but I think he needs reworked again. The only reason people are against a buff/rework of legion is because of the bad taste that OG legion left in people's mouths.

  • I haven't met a single farmer yet :( Ive been trying to meme around with my friend as baby dweets with no mither and all we've gotten is brutally murdered and called idiots for running NM in endgame chat lol

For Pete's sake. BHVR has far more important things to waste man hours on. Not everyone gets every thing.

I'm afraid you're wrong, sir. I get everything, because I said so. Did you not see where I told bhvr to do it?? That means they will do it. Because I have commanded it.

This is tooootally not a lighthearted thread about wanting a harmless change, it's a serious demand thread with threats of boycotting bhvr for not letting me wear a unicorn on the insomniac.

  • @buttercake made a beautiful post about the unicorn charm that goes along with this topic

I agree, all charms should be universal, I want that unicorn on my Quentin so bad :') for items that are so minor and inconsequential, there's really no reason for them to be locked to a role. Also, if I spend 12 hours trying to unlock dwight crow on console, I should be able to put it on my dwight 😤 make it happen bhvr

Sucks to just let someone die in basement because your playing no skill basement bubba.

Might as well go down and try and make a play and die and on to the next game rather than just hold m1 on gens to escape with maybe a safety pip at best.

This. I feel way too guilty half the time when it comes to letting someone die on hook. I'll almost always at least try for the save if I have BT, in the hopes that they'll make it out. I don't usually mind taking their place on the hook, and I'll usually suicide if I see someone coming to try and save me so nobody else ends up dying. The altruism part of the game is my favorite part.

  • @Blazelski said:

Friendly advice: Don't prestige any characters, it's so not worth it.

Eh, disagree. Your definition of "worth it" isn't the same as many peoples, which is fine, but I do think it's worth it if you're like me and enjoy the bloody cosmetics. I prefer Jake & Dwight's default looks over any other outfits, so I p3'd them, and Quentin doesn't have any cosmetics so I p3'd my baby too.

If, like many others, you like to play DBD as a game of horror-themed dress-up, then prestige is totally worth it.

Also, it's good to do if you're at level 50 and don't have many perks you like on the character.

  • I like to bring a toolbox & only use it if the killer starts getting closer while my gen is over 80% done. Usually, this'll let me finish it before they get to me if I commit hard to the gen.

A lot of people worry about "wasting" their toolbox if they don't use it before the gens are done, but they seem to forget that toolboxes can sabo hooks too. Sometimes sabotaging the hook closest to the exit door is clutch, or saboing in general after gens are done to help your teammates who get knocked.

  • I hate playing killer, I always feel like I'm ruining people's fun since as a survivor getting killed is obviously no fun at all. I really really love the teamwork aspect of playing Survivor. When I play solo, I really try to make sure I'm doing as much as I can for the team so that they can have fun.

I'm a people pleaser, and there's no people that I can please as killer. However, as survivor, there's three of them! And if they even once per match think to themselves, "Hey, this Quentin is really helpful!" Then it makes my whole day :)
