Easy way to test: are you able to access the Custom Game mode without obtaining an online subscription?
For instance on Switch you can't boot the game without one, however this may be different on PS or Xbox
As far as I know you can't even access the main menu on xbox without a subscription. That's what I'm wondering if they would change that.....I doubt it but I really hope so, cause there's zero reason to block off basically offline bot content by having an online subscription
-
My only question is with the bots will this mode still require online to access for condole? Like will it be like f13 and evil dead where you can play full bot matches offline or will it be like predator hunting grounds where you still need need an online subscription to access the bot content?
-
My only question a out the custom matches with bots is will it be offline? Like will it be like how evil dead and f13 have theue content where if your on console it doesn't required xbox live or a PS subscription or be like predator hunting grounds where even playing the "offline" bot content requires you to have the online subscription

I've been saying fir years that the blood web needs a complete rework. It's ridiculous how if you prestige you "may" get perks faster...may!!!! You should get perks faster. Even if you don't you should get every single perk easily. It took me months to get self care and I still am missing a bunch of perks and I keep getting the sane ones I already have over and over. I don't know if you have to purchase every other character to get their teachables if that's true that garbage that I would have to pay for characters I have zero interest in just to get one of their 3 perks.

The fact it hasn't been made yet with how much production value Behavior has, it's appalling.
We pay up front for the game, pay for each DLC - every chapter and 'paragraph' - then we pay for cosmetics - then we pay for passes.
Behavior is charging dedicated players in 4 different ways - and yet they cant afford a single player mode.
You know, things that games with 0 budget make given a few months. The kinds of things that GameJams can crank out in a matter of hours.
What's even worse isnt that that cant afford it its cause they are too damn lazy. Making excuses like "we don't want to divide the player base" like making an online-only game already divides players, plus if your soooo certain your game is good with its online player base adding an offline with bots shouldn’t affect that

Oh boy, here comes the fanboy(?) ig. Aka me!
Because, that just doesn't make sense. New game modes would divide the playerbase or... do nothing at all and that new or old mode would be forgotten. Training-esque wouldn't.
Personally, I don't care about an offline training grounds. But people do so I wouldn't mind if it got added. +It would be easier to test some stuff out without needing friends to play customs.
it 100% makes sense cause the devs theme selves have said that adding an offline would divide the community, which again is stupid if you have faith in your game then adding an offline wouldn't affect that player base at all, but sense they said that they must think the game wont survive with an offline mode. And yea the mode could possibly be forgotten but guess what the game it self can die and then what you dont play, but offline allows you to not have to worry about relying on others to play the game you like.

If there was an offline mode, we'd all be complaining that the AI was trash and then the devs would have to waste a lot of time making the AI work better when there are serious problems that need to be prioritised. Remember, they only have 850 employees.
number of employees doesn't mean anything these days when you got teams of less making better games
-
@AngyKiller said:
The devs can't be bothered to spend 30 minutes fixing stretched res cheating, so do you really think they're going to make an entire offline mode?
facts
-
It's so damn sad how there are so many posts about players wanting an offline mode and players who would play it or even new players who said they would get this game if it had offline just like with the Evil Dead game and so many people wanted some form of offline or they wouldn't buy the game and now it's getting it. cause they know how to get all players. instead of relying solely on the online player base. And the devs are like "we don't care" but here's a new UI no one asked for that got so much backlash for example or nerfing or buffing things no one asked for, but refuse to really add something to get new players to actually have fun and not have to deal with this toxic players
-
Oh, many people have questioned why this hasn't happened, me included for years, but the devs are too lazy to add it. The fanboys will say that they don't want to divide the community or some nonsense like that but making an online-only game already divides players especially since the game isn't newcomer-friendly, and if the game "is so strong and popular" as people make it out to be making an offline mode for training or just to have fun without the stress or annoyance of other players wouldn’t affect the games online player base. But it ultimately boils down to the devs being lazy and prioritizing making a new UI that the majority of people hated over making this that will help the game grow from people saying it's getting boring or the grind of its repetitive gameplay

The unlocks are random, you can get all of the cosmetics mentioned in the list Mandy posted.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2687726#Comment_2687726
As Survivor you get a random cosmetic of the mentioned list if you get hit while hiding in a snowman or if you escape while in a snowman, as Killer you simply need to hit a Survivor who is hiding in a snowman.
It doesn't matter the role or the character you are playing, you will get a random cosmetic from that pool.
(Sorry for repeating snowman so many times!)
My question is do we have to do the snowman tasks more then once to get the other charms or cosmetics?

I think they need to completely revamp the bloodweb, the grinding is stupid like if people enjoy the game then then it wouldn't be considered a grand bit for years people have been voicing their dislike for the bloodweb and the annoying grind the game offers, like I have played for 4 years and I still haven't gotten self care or borrowed time but I'm getting spirit burst like every other web. They need to fix this like I know they can implement a system where the game will know what perks you have already gotten and not give it to you again instead of having this mobile game feel for a PC/Console game that isn't free. There should be a perk bloodwen and an item one, like I personally don't care about the items I don't use them I only want perks but yet most of my bloodpoints have to go into things I'm not using

I went back and read that July Developer Update again. Now, I'm starting to feel like it was a misunderstanding. They redid the two tutorials, and then added the vs Bots where you are either Dwight or Trapper. I have the sinking feeling the Dwight/Trapper modes were their version of "offline bots mode."
i hope not, cause thats very very disappointing and in my opinion a waste of time then, like if your gonna promise an offline mode you know damn well people are going to want and expect something good, not a trial game with one of each killer and survivor. Hopefully thats not all they will be giving us
-
Me personally I've stopped playing the game cause I've gotten tired of people crying about how you play or that you didnt do this or do that, and when I heard about the offline content I was excited and when and only when that modes comes into the game is when I will play again

I think they’re testing it out to eventually put bots in when a player dcs in actual games.
thats fine but im talking about an actual offline bots mode
-
I agree, its dumb in my opinion to have levels to perks especially if you already have level 3 then you see level 1 in the web
-
I personally was excited for the bots.....I was unaware that it is just training and even to access that it requires online like really?

Would live to see an offline bot mode. Though I see it as unlikely since the devs have mentioned not wanting to split the player base in regards to alternative modes. Still we can dream.
See I remember them saying that too and honestly to me that's them just being lazy. Cause hundreds of games have both offline and online and it doesn't spilt it at all cause there are people who absolutely hate playing online only games so they are already doing what they fear would happen by adding offline "splitting the player base". Like me I greatly prefer to play offline games and when F13 added offline I bought the game, never had it before that so adding modes will increase sales cause I know people who would play this if it had offline added. Plus offline gives you a chance to play the game risk free from people who play this game as if their lives depend on it and take if far to serious
-
@TragicSolitude said:
I'm curious, for those of you who've played on the PTB, how much do the bots' actions change from one match to the next? Do they practically act like they're on rails and just respond to the killer's actions, or do they really play differently each time?
I personally haven't played it but from what I've seen and heard from people the AI will react differently each time, like this one video the player was being chased by the killer and ended the loop chase and even put traps in spots on the map you wouldn't expect
-
@GeneralV said:
As I've said on another thread, I would love to have an offline mode with bots, but only if they allowed us to customise the living ######### out of it. I am talking about playing with old killers, on old maps, with old perks.
I don't know how they would do it, but I would love it! Since we will be playing with bots anyway, there is no reason not to give us freedom.
Right. I dont see it really being difficult to add this as an offline feature, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this cause honestly they cant msk the bots still require online and you only play as trapper for killer and think that's a good idea

If you got to say tier 23 on the free pass and bought the pass you would get 23 paid tiers
So you pay but still have to unlock the rest of the tiers?? Thats like buying one of the DLC's and then saying you have to complete the characters tome to actually use them....and people are ok with this??
-
having some kind of offline bot content would help to avoid this for people who dont like to interact with players that take this game wayyy to serious treating it like its life or death
-
some kind of offline single player content would be an amazing addition one ive been asking the devs for years but it wont happen. the devs have no interest in ti and majority of the community has no problem just playing an online only game, they think the game will stay alive forever

It would encourage people to play in private games with their friends to farm bloodpoints, which would get stale quickly and take people away from actually playing the game (likely having an impact on queue times as well). Sooner or later- probably sooner- that gets boring and then people just want to stop playing in general.
It's not really any single reason, but a whole bunch of little ones.
well you see that playing and farming KYF will get boring, the same thing could be said for playing open matches. I find it extremely more fun to play private because no one is acting like their life is going to end if they lose we play for fun.
-
right its annoying, but unfortunately the devs are aware of this and everything but its not up on the priority list to fix
-
it doesn't really matter if its ok to camp, if the killer wants to camp they will camp, the devs are aware of it and there really nothing they can do to stop them from doing it
-
making the character gay wouldn't do anything, yes they can but does it really matter? it will probably be in the characters lore/backstory but no ones gonna remember or really care since his sexuality wont effect gameplay, so he could be but does it really matter if he is?
-
i think the battle pass is unnecessary its just another way for them to over charge for cosmetics regardless that you get your money back in the end. Like really $10 for one full skin???? MK charges less for multiple skins, and pay $10 for a skin for killer that you don't see, yea the survivors see it but that's not fun, it s like getting a cool tattoo on your back yea others will see it but why would you not want to see what your paying for.

There is a grind in the game. Doing this would ruin the grind. The devs don't want that.

sadly yes... i get they gotta make money but i feel thats a bit much for a cosmetic. i mean getting two characters doesnt even cost as much as some skins
thats very very messed up, Mortal Kombat 11 sells a pack of 3 character skins for less lol

Im new with the whole cells thing...but do they really want us to pay $10.00 for 1 full cosmetic piece?

Logically it makes sense. They get downed quickly, and decide "do i want to stay to get camped/tunneled to death or do i want to try to find a new game quickly that might be fun?"
thats the chance you take with a game like this. Thats why the game needs more then just the one true game mode it has, even if kill your friends allowed you to get bloodpoints would be a welcome change, it just suck show the game requires you to trust people you dont know
-
@GrootDude said:
I don’t see dcs as much as people say and of course you’ll see more survivors dc than killers since we have four survivors and one killer.
I've seen a good amount playing on console like 3 games in a row the first person I down left cause he or she was the first to be hit
-
i also think the whole C thing happens more and more because some players are just for lack of a better word babies about getting downed at anytime during the game when something happens to them that they dont like. I know people want to do good in a game but thats all it is a game, people take this game so seriously as if its life and death. And you cant argue they want to rank up, because their rank will be reset anyway so you work to rank up to level 1 just to be brought back to level 20 every month.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
They've made no indication that they are interested in an offline mode. Why would they suddenly make one?
this is true, but it doesn't hurt to hope. And you never know they may just do wanna tell us right now just like with certain chapters they want a surprise. And in my opinion the game needs a offline mode that actually rewards you for playing
-
@PrincessPoop said:
I am super excited too, but keep in mind they said the release date for the archives is tentative, so there is a chance it might not be coming out this mid-chapter patch.
I hope that’s not the case though as I’m personally more excited for the archives than even this new chapter, and that’s saying a lot because I am HYPED for this new chapter lol.
i feel the same
-
its also basically just daily challenges with some story attached to it
-
I think the archive is a very welcomed addition to the game...i do wish it wasnt still online only but its better then nothing. Gives players something else to do which is something ive wanted for a long time and have been saying they should do

The indicator would only show up when your the last person alive. And i know the killer can camp, that's the issue if you have 3+ gens remaining they will just camp the hatch, but if theirs and indicator at least it gives you a chance and not slowly looking around the map until you happen to hear it
-
@starpilotsix said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/63955/hatch-icon
... What if the killer has been waiting for you because they know you're not going to do the gens?
Then do the gens.
Or wait by a gate until the killer gets bored and closes it.
Honestly, I haven't seen a single killer wait by the hatch since the EGC became a thing, they always close it. You do your best to find it, then if you fail to before the killer does, when it closes, you do your best to escape through one of the gates.
Sometimes, you will just be screwed.
That is in the nature of being hunted by a killer in an extradimensional hellscape.
I do the gens, my problem is getting crap teammates who all know the hatch will spawn regardless of how many gens are done so they just wait it out until the last person.
And lucky you that you haven't come across a killer waiting because that's all i get because my "teammates" don't do anything so i would be left doing 3+ gens alone. And i know they always close the hatch, i mean they see that hey there's 3+ gens remaining the last person isn't going to do them so i wait by hatch then close it when they get close and then kill them.
But regardless there should be an icon for the times when the killer isn't waiting by it or knows where it is so it will still end the game quicker
-
this game could really benefit from a few modes. Story/ single player offline content, some kind of sandbox training area like what @ABannedCat and what @tafner suggested. Yes the game is fun as hell and of course they can still focus on the multiplayer but why are other players in the world not thought about. Like i know its not the same but Street Fighter 5 only catered to the online only players at first and the game failed, making the game online only and not even giving different online game modes at that is dividing players, there are people with bad internet or like i stated before people who don't like to do online every single time or get crap teammates or bad games or camping killers. Who knows a free or small priced single player offline content and some new modes can increase sales.
-
@Peanits you say "Not to say it's impossible, but it would be a lot of time and work to make that but way better and dynamic. That's time that could be spent working on the multiplayer, which would offer much more replayability." The word replayability is subject to change depending on the person, to you multiplayer is replay-able but to me single player is replay-able as well. And yes when people play online they may get different matches and out comes of course but if it was all so different you wouldn't hear so many people complaining about the same things happening to them over and over. And of course it would take time and work thats part of the job, and yea they could put the work into multiplayer, but they can also put time and work into not limiting the player base.
Not all players like having to rely on strangers to help them in a game or you never know someone might be one of those unfortunate players who gets camped every game....now wheres the fun in that? At least with offline you can help and not worry about having to help people and getting hateful messages or risk getting banned because you didn't save them or anything like that. Offline gives the players more options on what to play
