The issue here is that DS is a band-aid solution for an issue in the mechanics of the game. DS by itself doesn't stop or prevent tunnelling, it merely gives you 60 additional seconds of gameplay (aka taking your time to admire the floor tiles) which is why I never use it if the Killer wants to tunnel me, they are objectively bad and only want to make the game as quick and insufferable for me as a Survivor.
A fellow commentor mentioned it that they've gotten to red ranks without tunnelling, I have only gotten to green ranks, but I know a fair amount of players that have managed to reach red ranks without taking advantage of issues with mechanics. The paradox itself here is that we shouldn't need to waste a perk slot to resolve an issue with game design, but until we get an actual solution for this... we will have to deal with tunnelling and some Killers thinking they are good because they tunnelled off of hook.
tunneling isn't an issue with game mechanics, it's very much intended

It should automatically use the attempts when you are the last survivor, right now it instantly kills you so you can't stall the game on the hook but it also completely negates Deliverance which is very annoying.
what is the point of stalling if the game is already over other than some weird fantasy of punishing the killer for beating you?

First of all, who said they were nerfing Huntress? They're only changing her add ons as far as we know.
Second of all, although Hillbilly didn't need it, he's still a good killer, and unless you overuse your chainsaw you never really overheat.
Finally, Spirit will hopefully be nerfed soon, as for Nurse, I'm not sure if she needs one but that is up for debate. Freddy and Demo are next in line so we will see what happens after those two.
"addon passes" always come with basekit nerfs lol

people aren't playing him because it's boring and tedious

It's insane how hard some people are to please. They're roughly cutting his overheat mechanic in half, while nearly doubling his cooldown. PTB Billy was a Low B Tier Killer, with these changes he probably goes back up to A. Especially in the right hands. He'll be much more fun to play as a result. And they may tweak the numbers more later. Most people probably know the overheat mechanic wasn't going anywhere. To reduce the overheat, and increase the cooldown, is excellent progress.
it is an objective nerf, they are still slapping an overheat on him, he will be straight up less fun to play

As far as mobility goes, it's negligible. Sprinting heats up the chainsaw at a significantly reduced rate, so you can do entire laps around the map no problem. More importantly, even if it overheats a few laps in, it doesn't cancel your chainsaw.
As far as curving and all that goes, your ability to do so is functionally unchanged. You'll only notice a difference if you miss a bunch of them or pull out your chainsaw way too early (something you don't want to do anyway because it means the survivors are going to widen the gap).
you clearly have no clue how good billy players actually play a loop with curving

That’s aggressive and not very nice. I’ve played both sides and I do know that some killers need a nerf :) ebony Mori’s need a nerf. It’s not about getting good. It’s about fixing lag so I don’t rubberband into one hit downs, fixing vault hitboxes so the killer doesn’t down me after I’m through it already. Why should killers be able to run around with iridescent/infantry with ebony Mori at the same time? Why is infinite exposed even a thing? It’s not that serious 😂 I’ve played both sides. I know there’s loops that make it impossible to get the guy, but the devs literally hand you an excessive amount of ways to get one hit downs and let you insta kill too? I’m just in terms of balance it’s not about getting better if I didn’t have a chance.
you are so ignorant it hurts

Yeah but you don’t understand how it’s just not realistically possible without team communication and even then I think some of the killers are just too much. I play with randoms in red ranks as survivor against red rank killers and I see it all the time. killers running on people. Yes, the first few gens fly, but honestly I agree with this guy it’s not fun to have to loop the killer for 10 minutes as the only viable option of escaping and they’re taking away what little spots survivors can get really good at running. Most Killers are already built to end chases fast. They take and take and take from survivors and tbh it’s just not fun to come in and stare at a progress bar waiting to die for you. Especially when they keep tampering with gen speed. Making maps smaller is not the right move. I get they want to encourage more people to play killer. But it’s gonna be an swf only game at that point . No point in playing solo, so I think I’ll uninstall. It’s that serious. Killers mow people down and camp hooks and Mori them? Nah. Balance isn’t giving killers more than they already have. And I’m a purple rank killer. I main plague and I get 3-4K every game. Entitled are the killer mains. Certain maps that are bigger I think it’s easier for survivors. But with them going for smaller map designs, longer gen time. Nahhhh. Survivors dead imo. I don’t wanna play.
in every thread you make these inane posts full of biased garbage, please get better at the game

Nah it’s not bait, it’s the truth. I’ve seen it too 😂 killers can lunge spin on you when you try to juke them. I think if they lunge it should be in a straight line as well. Shouldn’t have much of an AOE too. It really is quite unfair in my opinion. Idk why people keep evading the fact that killers are actually really OP at the moment. You guys must be really bad at the game and think this 1v4 is just totally lopsided against you as a killer. It’s not. Bait bait bait that’s all I hear. It’s not bait. These are real issues. I don’t know how people can just sit here and bash on someone for experiencing something that isn’t right about the game clearly. Yet people like you try to act like it’s not a thing 😂 okay
the thing that isn't right are your skills, get better at the game please

You didn't read my post at all.
I NEVER CALLED FOR A NERF. The only nerf I want is total removal of insta-saw.
All I have ever said is that Hillbilly is too easy to pick up for the reward you get, he shouldn't be the focus of balance and if he MUST BE then every other killer besides Freddy, Doctor, Nurse and Spirit all need to be looked at majorly then, since he has everything except stealth and both Spirit and Nurse are the only contenders to his power, but take many more hours to compete at the same level.
I have highlighted how this is as well compared to other killers.
"if he MUST BE then every other killer besides Freddy, Doctor, Nurse and Spirit all need to be looked at majorly then"
they absolutely do all need buffs, way to miss the forest for the trees

What games are we talking about tho? I come from a community built on a fighting game where whenever you make a decision your opponent has to guess while having the tool do it. I'll explain it further:
Am I going to do a low? If you crouch, you block the low and punish me accordingly. If you don't, you get hit.
Now, the animations are there and are difficult to react to but they're still very clear. Imagine now that the low attack can instantly be canceled into a mid attack without any clear sign of it... that'd be incredibly frustrating, no?
the thing is, you don't have to guess against a billy, since you are on the other side of the pallet you can drop it on him every time instead of getting greedy for another loop
stop being greedy and the problem solves itself
-
@NurseMainBTW said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968183#Comment_968183
I see your point. I do still think however that the animation cancel is a flaw that must be dealt with, most games take an immediate stance on this type of stuff.
@yeet @Tisfine Maybe you can learn from this guy on how to explain yourself. We could have been discussing like this from the very beginning.
it isn't a flaw, it's an integral part of what makes the killer have an in depth skill cap
most games keep animation cancels, they're considered skillful imputs by the user to outplay their opponent
-
@NurseMainBTW said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968177#Comment_968177
Wasn't Spirit the very same thing? She didn't have a vault animation and that needed to be done for consistency because of, guess what, lack of counterplay. Immediatly canceling an animation IS not good game design.
I'm just gonna make an example: Imagine that you're playing Huntress, I'm vaulting a window while you're charging an hatchet and WHOOPS. I immediatly cancel the animation because it was just starting and you miss your hatchet, now I get to vault easily because of that and there's nothing you can do about it. Answer me this: Is this wrong or "fun mechanic"?
huntress and hillbilly are absolutely not comparable in these circumstances, nor was the spirit change to vaulting, the vault change was not made to make her consistent, it was made to nerf her, so i'm glad you're admitting you just want hillbilly nerfed
in the case of hillbilly being able to feather the saw, it is a fun mechanic, it allows for skillful counterplay from both sides and makes one dimensional loops more dangerous and thus more fun to play, survivors being able to cancel window vaults would make zero sense and it isn't comparable in the slightest
stop. begging. for. nerfs. just. because. you. died. to. it. once.
learn the counterplay, because it absolutely is there, you're just too stubborn to learn it.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968153#Comment_968153
You're attitude is honestly so outrageous it's insane. What I'm asking for ARE NOT Billy nerfs but just some consistency with the mechanics that were intended for killers. If I do any mistake with the ability of killers I play that are Nurse, Plague, Pig and Hag I get punished for it with survivors gaining distance or lose LoS.
This isn't the case with billy where at loops you can press m2 for a microsecond to bait you're going for the chainsaw and get a hit out of it because of lack of animation on the ability cancel.
you are asking for billy nerfs
that's what "consistency with the mechanics" always is, NERFS, killers are supposed to be unique, their mechanics aren't consistent, that's what makes playing different killers fun
this would be a huge nerf to billy's ability to deal with loops and mindgame survivors in a chase, you being outplayed once does't warrant any sort of change, missing this ability is part of what makes leatherface so pathetic and honestly he should be able to cancel it just like billy
it's absolutely not a confirmed hit, a good survivor knows that billy can do it and will read it properly, such as waiting for him to cancel it and start walking forward and drop the pallet on him, perhaps you can learn how to cancel it instead of jumping on the forums and crying NERF NERF NERF NERF NERF NERF
it's sad the way some people think

"stop trying to make every killer identical for arbitrary reasons, it's sad and pathetic" How ridiculous of you to imply I would ever do such thing when I actively play Nurse.
Lower the skillcap? If anything that would make him harder to play and would require more skill to be used. Didn't Nurse receive the very same treatment to her ability? The change was harsh but it made better at playing her by trying my best to not do any mistake.
making him harder to play isn't black and white
just because he has less tools to deal with loops would make him harder yes, but in a bad way, (learn what a skillcap is) killers should have tools they can use to interact with survivors beyond just m1 looping, which is part of the reason so many killers are so crappy because they lack these tools, arbitrarily robbing billy of his tools just because hurr other killers don't have this is stupid, stop begging for nerfs over skillful aspects that can be used to mindgame and outplay survivors because you lost to them
billy does not need any nerfs, other killers like leatherface, who is one of the most pathetic killers in the game need significant buffs, so stop using pathetic trash killers to argue that other killers should be as pathetic and trash as they are, it's frankly embarrassing
-
@NurseMainBTW said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968114#Comment_968114
You don't say? But aren't Huntress and Plague lower in the multiple tier lists while Billy is always on top? Apparently having a range attack doesn't help them enough... not that I'm implying they NEED buffs of any kind.
every other killer should be brought up to billy's level
it's also stupid to try and nerf killers in ways that lower their skillcap, you're making the game more boring to everyone
stop trying to make every killer identical for arbitrary reasons, it's sad and pathetic

Ummm?
He said grass.
G.R.A.S.S
He didn't say corn, she will only move grass.
Why does spirit get so much information and survivor doesn't?
WHAT DOES SPIRIT GET:
- Survivors Move grass
- Survivors move corn
- Spirit can hear injured survivor
- Spirit can hear survivor's breath
- Spirit can hear survivors footsteps (they are way more loud than the killer one in my experience)
_________________________________________________________________________________
What does survivors get:
- Spirit doesn't move grass
- Spirit doesn't move corn
- Spirit footsteps are barely audible in some maps like the game, lery's and hawkins.
_________________________________________________________________________________
Basically nothing, so I still dont see how people think spirit has "counterplay", and analyzing you're post you only rely on arguments like "janky plays" - "read"
Janky Plays will stop working eventually, any spirit that has a brain will analyze how you move, etc.
So they will stop working eventually, so how in the earth can someone use "janky plays" as a argument?
And saying a read isn't a guess is just ignorant.
READ:
Basically you're analyzing you're enviorement and READING the spirit's movements, since you dont know where spirit move you're GUESSING where she is (aka. reading the spirit movements)
Yet you still say a "read" isn't a guess.
IN CONCLUSION:
Spirit has little counterplay/information for the survivor to react, yet some people still claim that spirit has counterplay, yes she do has, INCONSISTENT ONE:
- Shards glow can be hide by some outfits and they are inconsistent.
- Spirit idle animation rarely reset
- Spirit hairs rarely bug
Proof:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOHy-NA2qaY&t=436s
Janky Plays will eventually stop working on a spirit that has experience.
Maybe the 360's can work on console spirit because of how the controller, but that's all.
- Spirit can hear injured survivor
- Spirit can hear survivor's breath
- Spirit can hear survivors footsteps
have you played since oni came out? killer sounds are broken and she can't hear #########

Having not played as Oni since the PTB (since I don't own him) I can't confirm or deny that personally. According to further comments Janick made in that thread, your problem might be that you're trying to use the keys to help you turn instead of just using the mouse.
If you think it's still a problem, I would advise you to politely say so to Janick and ask him to comment further instead of jumping to the conclusion that he's trying to deceive you.
i strictly use the mouse for the flick, i never used the keys for assistance and i can tell you it's worse
what happens is you're locked to about 30 degrees for most of the attack, meaning you run past where you need to be to hit the survivor, then at the last milisecond you get a bunch of sensitivity but by that time the survivor is already too far, scottjund has made a video that explains this better with examples

Those using the mouse would not see a difference, actually you should gain about 5 to 10 degrees more. Those affected by the change are players who where remapping their keys and using Left-Right instead of the normal A-D during the Oni attack.
it should even be slightly better not significantly worse

They were never happy with him in that regard, it was always considered a bug, and they have said so since the beginning. There was no deception there.
they also said that those using just mouse control should feel no difference after the patch

Doesn't matter, killer should be paying attention to how long it's been since they hooked you. And jumping in a locker is a dead give-away you have DS. If the killer grabs you that is 100% their fault. You baited them, they took it. OUTPLAYED.
And there is a counter play. Slug them. Go for another survivor. Slugging is super effective at slowing the game, especially if you have Sloppy. I had a game as Spirit on Ward the other day, I returned to a hook and saw the Feng jump into a locker. Even though it was her death hook and I already tunneled her once kinda, I just said okay screw you and went for the Ace instead. There were no gens near her and she was so scared to leave the locker I'm pretty sure she stayed in there until the Ace went down. I still won that game easily.
failing several times in a row but only escaping because you had a perk equipped that rewards failure is hardly outplaying anyone
