Trapper – gains non-collision and speed boost when survivors get trapped… able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets for the duration a survivor is caught in a trap.
Wraith – gains non-collision and speed boost when cloaked… while cloaked is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Billy – gains non-collision when chainsaw sprinting… while sprinting is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Huntress – gains non-collision when out of hatchets… while having “0” hatchets, is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Myers – gains non-collision when in tier III… while in tier III, is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Hag – gains non-collision when a trap is triggered and maintains this state 30 secs after a trap is triggered. While under this effect the Hag is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Doctor – gains non-collision when at least one survivor is full madness… while in this state the Doctor is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Cannibal – gains non-collision while in chainsaw sweep and for the full duration of the sweep; while chainsaw sweeping the cannibal is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Freddy - while in dream world, has non-collision...allowing bypass walls, vaults and pallets.
Pig – gains non-collision while crouched; while in crouch and prior to ambush dashing, is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Clown – gains non-collision while under the effect of ‘yellow’ tonic… while under this effect, is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Spirit – gains non-collision while spirit walking… while spirit walking the spirit is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Legion – gains non-collision while in frenzy… while in frenzy, the Legion is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Plague – gains non-collision while holding corrupt purge… while holding corrupt purge the Plague is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Ghostface – gains non-collision while stalking and undetected… while stalking and undetected the Ghostface is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Demogorgon – gains non-collision and maintains it for 30secs after exiting from a portal… while under this effect the Demogorgon is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
Onyii – gains non-collision during demon dash; while under this effect is able to bypass walls, vaults and pallets
…there’s the fix…

killers can't see the totem, you need to be VERY near the totem to hear it... if it was a hex totem that was turned into a boon totem, and you as a killer destroys the boon totem, (basically you revert it to a dull totem), it can be re-lit by a survivor into a boon totem again...
waste of time... boon totems are very very strong... and multiple boons can be up at the same time... re-lighting a boon totem after a killer disables it... something is seriously wrong with this picture.

thats what happens i guess when most killers are underpowered and nerfed too the ground. gutted you know? lol.
I would love to disagree but my goodness you are so right... kinda sad really. This game strives for diversity but the balance just doesn't exist. /cry

yep, or why his chains are broken when he walks through them
The Devs have already acknowledged this. So I personally don't see it as an issue if they don't...since it apparently is a "thing".

playable but then not... constant crashing as cenobite... great use of my money... <_>"' how frustrating

was planning on buying this... but if he's released as is... this will be the first killer I pass on. So hopefully he'll be significantly tweaked before release.

This killer is basically deathslinger but weaker, he can easily down survivors at open loops with short walls by just spamming but a good deathslinger does the same and is faster at it.
btw he needs 8 knifes to hit to injure you, with his piercing + ricochet addons he can do it with 2-4 knifes with luck he is very addon dependent.
This. "add on dependent"... should probably be looked at a little closer in this PTS by the devs. I concur that his base kit is very very weak and the number of required hits are very high. I suggest perhaps the ricochet add-on being part of the base (or at the least a modified version) this will add a level of threat that just doesn't exist as he currently is. Add on top of that the slow-down when the "Main Event" is activated, which goes away or diminishes so fast. Considering the "main event" is the main killer power that is suppose to be uber strong... it really depends on where it's activated. In open areas verses a closed in loop heavy area... Devs pleas review before live release. LOVE THE CONCEPT though.

I love the new UI. Keep it as is. GREAT JOB guys!

Aura reading perks for survivor are not meta and you only need to see hooked survivor, what is easy, because it is the only red stain in the whole map. Killers ain't see the gens, bbq does not work, exit gates are dark as hell.
Uninstall game is the best solution if this stays this bad.
probably the best solution to date for the current state... when a video game gives me headaches due to eye strain... uninstall.
-
Please address the auras; i am not color blind but my vision isn't the best and the auras cause eyestrain. Make them brighter (had ZERO issues with the auras prior to this change) now, I find myself getting headaches. PLEASE make this change; I cannot continue to play the game under the current conditions.

OMG the crying... the absolute utter crying over the billy changes...
Geesh, this was long over due. Billy was probably one of the most played killers for obvious reasons---this was needed to bring him more in-line with streamlining all killers so that one isn't "over powered" compared to the others. If the game was "only Billy" or "only Nurse" etc., then so be it.. but this game has a variety of killers. Releasing a new killer with powers/add-ons and abilities that is just a cookie-cutter version of what is considered the "best" killer is a waste of time, energy and resources.
Now with this change, you "billy mains" have something else to think about while using the chainsaw instead of just how fast you can mow down a survivor with literally no negative downsides. I embrace and rejoice with these minor tweaks... Billy is still a very strong killer, just with a negative side-effect to his chainsaw, which is over due.
Great Job BHVR, keep up the good work.

Update: Looks like the devs fixed it. Hopefully.
-
@DrDeepwound I see, well this isn't one of those situations.
-
@DrDeepwound I have personally never seen this happen before. I play and have never had it happen to me... so I'm unsure what you are referring to.
-
@Claudette_Baguette everyone's entitled to their opinion; however hacking someone's stream isn't in any way behavior that should be justified regardless of the streamers opinion. Behavior needs to take steps to secure their servers to prevent this type of activity from occurring in the first place.
-
@Clevite no, someone in his party d/c'd and at the end of the match he was penalized like this... he did nothing wrong.
-
To have an open mind and be considerate of the fact that anyone playing this game will do a little "rp" (role-playing); perhaps that can't be helped. However, the devs looking to expand the character rosters relationships to a new level (unexplored) is both welcomed and a great reflection of what has been missing in main stream games. Not many game companies take the time to recognize (truly recognize) the diversity of gamers out there... and to at least place some representation in their product that gamers can relate to.. is truly magnificent.
To each his/her own; this isn't for everyone--because if your straight, you've generally had it "your way" in almost all media--can't really say the same thing for anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+... I welcome any of these diversity changes.

The DC penalty, most people have experienced whether it be from exiting a match, losing connection, or the game crashing, but that's just it. The penalty doesn't affect dcing as much as it affects poor connection or the game dying, meaning innocent players will receive bans for unfair reasons. Not just that, but the game is in such a 50/50 state that it could almost be considered early access by some. A game that has been out for 4 years, has over two thousand dollars worth of dlc, and is riddled with glitches is...not good?
I mean, the game is stable, but it's foundation is weak, and the path it is taking can closely resemble the path of DayZ, a game that has been in early access for years upon years. The only difference between the two is one isn't glitch infested and doesn't have a month's pay worth of dlc.
With all that being said, this game does need a dc penalty, but the state the game is in, and how the penalty was implemented is bad. The penalty should at the very least reset over a period of a week. Or even just go back by one penalty period.
These posts are repetitive, but they pinpoint a huge issue that is plaguing the game, and if it doesn't get fixed, then much of the playerbase (that's even left) will always be left with a "sour taste" in their mouths.
Please be civil in the comments. Danke.
/sigh... so many issues with the OP I'm not even sure where to begin:
"The DC penalty, most people have experienced whether it be from exiting a match, losing connection, or the game crashing, but that's just it." - proof that most people have experienced...? Easy to say, now please provide facts to back up this comment.
"The penalty doesn't affect dcing as much as it affects poor connection or the game dying, meaning innocent players will receive bans for unfair reasons." - proof please that dcing affects poor connection or game dying... where innocent (how do you know they are innocent?) players receiving bans....??? facts please.
"Not just that, but the game is in such a 50/50 state that it could almost be considered early access by some."... who? please post your source.
"I mean, the game is stable, but it's foundation is weak"... ah, so you have access to the games code? if not, how can you know that the "foundation is weak"...and what exactly do you mean by weak?
"he penalty should at the very least reset over a period of a week. Or even just go back by one penalty period."... Finally a statement appears to be based on your opinion... I can go with that... why then, should it be a period of a week or back one penalty period...specifically?
"These posts are repetitive, but they pinpoint a huge issue that is plaguing the game, and if it doesn't get fixed, then much of the playerbase (that's even left) will always be left with a "sour taste" in their mouths." OK. So you now speak for "much of the player base"... did you take a poll of much of the player base to know that they'll have a sour taste left in their mouths? Can we all get a chance to see the results of this poll? How else can you know this?

So my idea for noed is:
1. It is no longer a hex perk.
2. Once the exit gates are powered, survivors are exposed for 3 minutes (maybe that's too long idk).
3. For every remaining dull totem on the map, once the gates are powered, the killer gains an extra 30 seconds of the exposed effect.
Edit: 4. Keep the speed boost.
This change would give survivors a reason to do totems, because if you are a solo survivor it's very hard to do all of the totems when you don't know how many your teammates have done. Also it would still benefit the killer even if all totems are done.
Idk if this a good change or not you tell me. Also, please no dumb replies.
1. As it stands, I like the idea of being able to counter this powerful perk... survivors "CHOOSE" not to cleanse dull totems... Survivors have the ability throughout the entire trial to PREVENT this perk from activating. I don't think its appropriate to reward bad choices with overhauling the perk.
2. I would recommend no changes to how the perk activates--it's an endgame perk. Once all gens are powered, it either activates or it doesn't.
3. I wouldn't recommend changing this either--as it stands the perk is strong if allowed to activate... something the survivors have control over. As a matter of fact, even AFTER the perk activates, it can still be deactivated--its not like its in permanent effect or something.
Now let's mention "Adrenaline"... (scenario) endgame about to happen, as the last gen is being repaired by an injured survivor #4... survivor #1 and #2 are in dying state... (slugged)... survivor #3 is injured and running the killer on the opposite side of the map. Killer has NOED in the wind. Dull totems were not broken. Final gen is powered. NOED activates. Survivor #4 is fully healed with Adrenaline. Survivor #1 is healed to injured state and heading to the exit door. Survivor #2 is healed to injured state and heading to the exit door. Survivor #3 is healed by way of Adrenaline and with Hope, leaves the killer in the dust.
We can have debates like this all day... but until the game is balanced.... please leave NOED alone.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1184392#Comment_1184392
And not at Rank 15! Rank reset did a number to my killer, and I've been grinding Surv Archives.
Then don't... "click, click, click" the flash light at the killer.. don't run aggressively around the map leaving tracks to lead "DIRECTLY TO YOU"... don't fast vault... play immersively.
Then the killer will be less likely to notice you and you won't get "deleted in a 10th of the game time".

Survivor main who has been abandoned by teammates more times than I can count, who has had a very good amount of killers dc too and lost who knows how many bloodpoints because of it.
This sucks. Two games in already and it's every toxic behavior that makes survivors dc. First game, a teammate dc'ed as soon as he was downed, about 30 seconds into the game. Meh, it happens. It's still possible to play the game and have fun, even if we survivors are at a huge disadvantage and ultimately don't escape. What's not fun? That killer decided to camp the next person they down, and then slug all three of us. I spent about 3:30 bleeding out on the ground, and was the last to die on my first hook. FUN AND INTERACTIVE.
Second game, a facecamping Bubba. Shocking. I saw what he was doing, knew I couldn't do anything about it, and tried to get as many gens done as possible. One teammate finally went for the save, got downed and then slugged, and then the put the first person right back on the hook. Then he facecamped the person who had the save. Two of us made it out that time.
I'd rather be in a game with a person who might dc or even in a game after a person does in fact dc than have killers gleefully play the most toxic way they can now. As for all the killers who dc, it made me laugh even though I lost out on BP. If this is how killers are playing now, I will be done after this tome. It's not about being salty, it's about being bored. I want to play the game. Facecamping and slugging is not playing the game, especially as a solo survivor.
I hope the penalty is going better for everyone else.
Third game: I was the first one downed, the killer came straight back and ignored the teammate who unhooked me to tunnel me. Decided to see what the penalty was for one DC. Five minutes, for anyone wondering. I'm done playing DBD now. I should have known the tunnel was coming. It's the toxic killer trifecta, after all.
stopped reading when you mentioned two games in and every toxic behavior that makes survivors dc....
...so the killer makes survivors dc.... actually "makes" survivors dc....
You lost me there. How exactly is another player making you dc? Really? I'd like to know how the killer "makes" you dc. Sweat much?

Well, blame the cryhards who abused no penalties to the point where it's a lesser evil to have a less than perfect system in place to punish them.
These penalties are a very long time coming and I'm thrilled they are finally here!
Very well put. So many posts on here with folks trying to justify the d/c. However, I do lay this apparent survivor entitlement attitude squarely on the developers of this game. While I can understand the "hesitancy" with which they have approached this implementation... the delay only fed into the meta that if a survivor or killer doesn't like the way the match is going due to their perceived way of how things should go...d/c... or a SWF angry that a killer tunnels... d/c...1st person, then 2nd and 3rd and finally 4th... immediately. I could go on and on... it appears the devs have realized their lackadaisical approach was hurting the game and they really needed to address this and I for one and glad they have.
Perhaps now we can have full games without a d/c to either screw over the other survivors or the survivors being screwed over by a killer who gets angry because of a gen rush.
Thanks BHVR.
-
Gens go way too fast; early game... to have so many killers in the game but also have such an unbalance... especially with the perspective that "killers should expect to lose at least 2 gens within the 1st 4 minutes".. that's just discouraging.
Killers with traversal power can keep pressure on gens, killers with no traversal ability struggle. It's all about getting around the map and quickly. I think this needs to be addressed at least from that perspective when thinking about reworks.
Also, many killers that appear to be high rank either (a) have high traversal ability and the ability to one-shot or (b) ability to one shot without high traversal ability.
Killers that lack both...a are considered low-tier and suffer horribly in their attempt to apply gen pressure.

I'm a 3 monthish in player meaning I'm the noob youre trying to cater to. Im a Red rank survivor and purple killer as I dont play it much but I'm not bad when I do. This game was awesome!! Killers were fun to play with and against. Then you nerfed ruin... every single game since is either a 3 minute slug fest against billy or a 3 minute gen rush (I do both). Completely non enjoyable at this point and obviously the uproar since the announcement of this nerf, there have been tons of complaints. Are there plans to fix this? If not as im a paying customer you should feel obligated to tell me not to waste any more money on this product.
These are excellent points. While I understand the Devs rationale that at least 2 gens will get completed within the first 4 minutes of a match (or something to that effect); and also that they (meaning the Devs) never intended that 5 gens would still be up 4 minutes into a match--nerfing ruin (when you've acknowledged that 80% of red rank loadouts included the hex as part of their build) should have given you pause... i say this only because the immediate approach taken to nerf it into it's current iteration was a little off of the cuff... sorta like a knee jerk reaction.
Now the fall out has begun--while survivor mains may see this as a god-send... it's the killer mains that have to suffer in a game that is so heavily survivor sided, regardless of the reason.
Perhaps the safer more balanced approach, would have been to nerf tool boxes at the time that the new ruin as implemented (even in test server) to determine the impact, as all killers traversal abilities are not the same. The argument that one should utilize the technique of 3-gen or 4-gen strategy to force survivors within a tight cluster goes against the idea that the killers hould be able to play the game from a balanced perspective--Nurse, Billy... Freddy... Spirit... to name a few that have significant map pressure due to map traversal.
Killers that suffer... The Clown and Plague... have to "walk" to have map pressure. Map pressure with the current ruin is necessary as to "make the survivors" get off the gens... however this false narrative approach isn't consistent in practice especially for a 4v1 game.
This was poorly executed, however you do have time to fix it... but you better be quick.

@Peanits why did you guys never make the secret addons invisible to avoid people dcing and making the killer waste a mori? At least if they were actually secret and invisible youd get 1 kill instead of everyone dcing.
I don't believe this is asking to much for this adjustment; while I understand about keys and flashlights etc... I personally haven't run across anything other than the seemingly continuous d/c's based primarily on the fact that a mori was burned as an offering. Not only does this waste time but it literally cancels the entire match for other players and this is just "un-fun".
Simple fix = hide all offerings or just replace that load screen with something else entirely.... perhaps something to do with the Archive? There's plenty of opportunity there to make a HUGE QoL adjustment to avoid unnecessary match cancellations.
-
new map has plenty.and i mean plenty of grass... be aware of your scratches and walk... in a chase to hide... it works pretty well on that map. Over reliance on pallets is a weakness in my opinion.
