I've always been very iffy on this perk as a killer main, and I've said on countless threads I'd rather it reworked to keep the same late game boost purpose with a bit more balance.
My current problem isn't the do bones arguement...sort of. The problem is in swf they're at fault if it doesnt get cleansed while if its four solos, the four solos can't do much, not near as efficiently anyways, which is my problem with this perk.
I'd like if it was made not to be a hex perk anymore, make it so every survivor on death hook becomes exposed, or something similar anyways, and give a speed boost for each survivor on death hook to separate the tiers.
But then again maybe I'm in a minority, glad you were civil in this post as most posts like this are usually much more aggresive.
I'll honestly disagree with this mostly. I only play Solo and I've never found NoED to be an issue. If I see a totem, I cleanse it. If my team cleanses them I do gens, it's about being able to understand what kind of people you're playing with by watching what they do.

Honestly that would be fine as a normal perk. That‘s not strong enough for a hex.
I agree, this would be at least a small way to counter SWF.

Tunneling ruins this game for survivors. This is a problem and I don't know why after all this time it is not a reportable offense. When a killer blatantly comes right back to you straight off the hook and tunnels you down until your death hook the game is no longer fun at that point. Its just not worth playing. There is little to nothing survivors can do to counter this unless you have some kinda insanely coordinated SWF group to deal with toxic killers that do this. Tunneling playstyles have to be discouraged and the perks we have for it aren't enough. The action altogether needs to be discouraged and until there is some kind of punishment for doing it then it will never stop. Tunneling survivors down makes for a miserable experience and there is absolutely nothing at all fun about it. If you play killer and you do this please know you're ruining this game for survivors. You may think its fun but for me it really makes me not want to press that ready button again.
In a sense I do understand what you're talking about. Because I've been on both sides of this "issue". But I think you've missed a key part of the game by making this argument. The killer is a killer; you know this when you hit the "ready button" but you expect them to say "I've hooked you once, and your less than helpful team mate unhooked you injured in front of me so I'll let you go."
Unfortunately while being tunneled does suck, it's a risk you take when you play the game (especially in Solo which is all I play). The killers job is to reduce survivor numbers as fast as possible by any means necessary. If that means capitalizing on a survivor who went for a bad save by going for the injured one first than so be it. That's what a smart killer does. A smart survivor doesn't unhook their teammate in a bad situation in the first place.
-
Here is the rundown on objective facts.
- Yes, SWF is overpowered.
- Yes, solo queue is easy as well (to get a good amount of BP and not derank)
- Yes, killers are in no way challenging to play against aside from certain builds (which still isn't that hard)
- No, there is NO EASY FIX to ANY of these points.
The problem is trying to balance SWF. And the fact of the matter is you can't without affecting Solo and Killers. No one will play the game if they can't play with their friends, but no one will play the game if killers steamroll everything too. The core concept of the game did NOT take into account communication with SWF. And let's say the player base is equally distributed between survivors and killers, that means 80% of the playerbase is survivor.
Regardless of how good a game is, making a multiplayer asymmetrical VS. game will only ever lead to an imbalance of power.

I don't think there'd be a Scooby-Doo chapter because there just... Isn't a viable killer. The closest we'd get is the Evil Entity from Mystery Inc. but I don't think that'd fit the game.
However, we are meant to be getting a skin set from Crypt-TV (people have told me I cannot verify this myself) so it's possible we could get licensed skins- Fred for David, Shaggy for Dwight, Daphne for Meg, Velma for Elodie, etc.
Maybe even Miner '49er for Trapper- though I'm not sure how much that'd work since his real name isn't Hank.

Am I the only one who believes that killers should be punished for camping survivors on hook? Especially if it's a bubba or hillbilly. Yes, you could not go for the unhook if you see that a killer (such as bubba) is camping, however not all survivors choose to ignore it and do gens and they decide to go for the very stupid unhook, leading two people now being hooked and they both DC...
Honestly, it's not fun at all. Yes, there are perks which help, such as BT, but honestly those perks don't even matter against killers who are able to one-shot survivors. Thoughts?
So you want to punish killers for bad survivor decisions?

So, to keep it short; the killer isn't straight face camping but they're terror radius camping. Its like they won't face camp you, but they won't let you out of their terror radius.
For the record, this isn't a strat; it's a crutch, muchlike NOED. This usually leads to tunneling, Slugging, and or straight face camping when the killer fails. I don't know why people call it a strat to win if you have to resort to camping yo get a kill; it's lowkey pathetic if you have to resort to that. It's not every day that I see people tunneling, face camping, or just going so low just to get a kill but its the ones who do that get really get me.
Usually, I see that in lower ranks and that's very often. I haven't been running into NOED often but I HAVE been running into campers and tunnelers. For the record, it doesn't make you any less of a bad killer if you have to resort to camping and tunneling to get your precious 4k; and no, again, it's not a strategy to win, it's a crutch.
A strategy is a plan something THAT you think up and roll out. To getting a better definition; this is what the dictionary says.
Strategy - Noun - a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.
Camping does NOT fall under this pretext because you didn't plan it out, you just said "Okay, so I suck or I want my 4k so I'll resort to just making the game unfun for everyone and get what I want." That's right, I'm calling ya out on it. So, don't try to call it a strat.
Back to my main focus, Terror Camping. Yeah, so this lowkey ain't really fun for many because if you don't have deliverance; you're screwed. It basically says "That's right, I'm camping and i'll slug you if you Come any closer." This apparently works out with killers like myers, ghost face and stealth killers in general. This leads to the survivor being put in the second phase, The team rushing the killer, the survivor gets tunneled and it's an easy kill for the killer; again, not a strat, it's a crutch. I've seen people DC from this either because that killer is tunneling them and has a Mori, or because they were basically tunneled the whole game. *Not fun.* Can we work to avoid doing this?
Think of it like this.
"I'll guard this hooked person so survivors are forced to make a choice of a trade or one less team mate".
"I'll slug this guy so I can take others off generators, so I can put pressure on them".
"I'll eliminate this person as quickly as possible because they're the best on the team, and they'll be the biggest threat".
From top to bottom, you have "camping", "slugging" and "tunneling". All of those are strategies.
For survivors:
"I'm sure the killer will "camp", "slug" or "tunnel". So I'll bring perks to counter that".
"I usually don't get healed by my team since I'm solo, so I'll bring Self Care to help that".
-
I think the most you can do is link to an external site for videos.
As far as I know you can't upload videos directly to the forums.
-
@thesuicidefox I think the reason people are being a bit "direct" with you is that you're imposing your own opinion on them about crossplay. And you did say you didn't like it because people from other platforms were bad (which you did mention something about a Lery's hook looper). It seems like you want BHVR to bow to your wants/opinions, I'm not saying you are but that's what most people are taking this as.
It was said before, crossplay allows much better queue times. And aside from differences in machine performance, there is no real reason to have it off. But at least you have a choice. If you don't want crossplay that's fine, but you can't expect others to turn theirs off for you. BHVR isn't responsible for your choices, you need to compromise on stuff like this. The benefit of crossplay outweighs the problems with it. And that is directly from what the playerbase wanted (which was shorter queue times).
-
Honestly, the most fun I've had in this game is playing a STEALTH survivor. Where minimizing noise and making sure to hide behind things was how I evaded the killer. And it feels like how the game should be played in my own opinion.
I believe looping has taken over the game, and it's not fun for killers or survivors. Pallets and windows were originally a way to block chase paths. The problem is what to replace them with if they were removed.
I'd rather have EVERY survivor have clothes that blend with the environment on any given map. Then add perks to help with tracking, and perks to counter it. In this way perks will augment stealth but it will be up to player skill to hide/track.
-
Doctor for me but I enjoy playing against him the most.

ditto. Sure it sucks for the first guy that got downed, but I have rarely ever seen NOED get more than 1. And when it has it's either greedy survivors thirsting for saves or survivors that don't respect the "exposed" status and group up anyway leading to a quick snowball.
sometimes there does seem to a few people that want secondary objectives because gens are boring, but they also want those secondaries to be completely optional and inconsequential.
Exactly... Survivor is really boring these days.
Survivors have a very small amount of stuff to worry about.
1 - Gens
2 - Chases/saves
3 - Totems if there are any at all.
I'd make a list for killers but I think I'd make the post too long.

It's people like you that blame others for their own problems.
I play solo queue exclusively and NoED is rarely a problem. There are perks that let you see totems, run with them. Just because your team doesn't do totems, doesn't mean you get to blame the perk for the problem. Survivors can blame themselves if NoED goes off. Most are just too lazy to do totems because they "shouldn't have to do anything besides gens."
To quote you, "use your brains hun" and choose perks to cover your weaknesses instead of blaming everything/everyone else.

Really what needs to happen is survivors need to be locked in on build/items before they queue. That prevents the exploit and realistically you shouldn't be swapping around much in the lobby anyway. Keeps them from using any of the exploits surrounding lobbies.

No I did. But that's not where I'm requesting the fix to be. So reread the post and try again.
You asked to be able to change your killer in the lobby, to counter players looking in the files for what killer you're playing. I quoted the problem with that for you. As far as I know, from what I've read on other forum threads, those files are encrypted now (but I don't know for sure).
So, exactly what kind of fix are you requesting? You haven't been very specific.

You seemed to have completely missed the point of my entire post.
And you obviously didn't read the quote, or you simply don't care about the abuse that would follow by allowing killers to change in lobbies. You're literally asking for something that will be abused.
-
For any killer if you're new:
NoED (swap to another perk after you've learned the killer so you don't become reliant)/BBQ/Sloppy Butcher/Enduring (swap to another perk once you're good at baiting pallets)
-
I don't get it.... This is a game where the goal is either to survive or kill people....
Kill by any means necessary or survive by any means necessary... Why do people say "killers play scummy" when the goal is to kill...
Is it possible to kill people "nicely" on a meat hook?
As a survivor I rarely get tunneled or camped. Because I don't try to annoy the killer, I avoid them.
-
Quoted from @MandyTalk in another thread:
"Nothing to do with being survivor sided at all!
It's locked in because when you search for a match that's when the matchmaking happens, so if you queue with your strongest killer for example and then decide to change to another killer whilst in the lobby you are going to struggle...that would also be abused the other way around - you'd queue on your weaker killer and be matched with survivors of that skill level, then switch up to one of your stronger killers in the lobby.
The difference for survivors that there's no difference between characters in the same way there is for killers."

Yeah I can't play with them the way they are. I have trouble see in the dark as it is, but this just made it worse. And the devs claiming it wasn't intentional to change them this much is pretty ballsy.

Now I am not one to say that Freddy is overpowered by any means, but I do now see why so many people in the community find him annoying. It's the fact that every Freddy runs the exact same build. Freddy gets immese value from BBQ & Pop, & I don't think I have versed a single Freddy that isn't running that perk combo in months. 75% of the Freddy's I face are hardcore anti-gen build Freddys, often using the slower action speed addons on top of his anti-gen perks.
Another thing that contributes to Freddy having such a high kill rate based on the data is the fact that his kit has so much to it. He can anti-loop/track efficiently with his snares (or opt to exchange that for mindgaming potential with his pallets), get from one side of the map to another in seconds (also a potential mindgame), he hard counters BT (I actually like this on him), he can slow down survivors (with addons, & most oftenly with perks too), & his lunge is crazy. Now I know the devs said his lunge is normal & that the animation just doesn't match up, but if that's actually the case that needs to be fixed ASAP. Legion is like the same size as Freddy & doesn't seem to have that problem. Basically you have to assume that Freddy has an extra foot or so ahead of him that can count as a hit on you. This seems to be why Freddy can hit through pallets so well. Either way, it's annoying to have to guess at what range you can be hit by Freddy.
My solution would be to somehow limit how effective anti-gen Freddy can be & fix his lunge. You could make aura reading not work on awake survivors, increase his teleport cooldown, or something. His anti-gen meta is way too common & honestly makes playing against him super unfun. As a solo survivor, it's a pain trying to beat a good Freddy because generally my team ends up all over the place & no one can ever seem to finish a gen. He is also the reason why I feel Chreyl's new gen blocker teachable will become meta. Preventing him from using Pop would be his downfall because most Freddys rely so heavily on it.
I don't play him like that....
I run Remember Me/BBQ/Devour Hope/Discordance

Nope. The very first thing we NEED to adress, is insta-down addons like the god-awful iri hatchets. Then Moris and THEN we can talk about punishing those who still want to escape the game early.
As long as all those mechanics remain in the game (and yes, keys are BS as well and need to be either removed or reworked), I completely understand everyone, who doesn't want to be part of minutes of stupidity.
Than we need to fix all the stupid second chance perks that survivors have and remove the hatch from the game.
-
Holy #########...... I go to play a game for the first time in weeks and I can't see #########.....
How does something this bad make it into a live update without someone going "Oh #########, this looks really bad and we should fix it"
-
Instead of being upset with the killer, you should be mad you had an incompetent team mate that unhooked you so close to the killer...
But by all means, lets complain about how killers play because of stupid survivors.
-
Here's the real problem in my own opinion.
Mori's allow you to skip 1 hook phase, but also don't really get you a pip if you end the match too fast. So they're not really useful for anything if you want BP and pips.
I consider keys and the hatch to be equally bad for the game. So I'll talk about them together.
The hatch is one of the most harmful things in the game along with mori's and keys. The hatch and keys promote "bad play" (and I say that in quotations because bad play is entirely subjective). Keys and Mori's reward little effort, but the hatch makes a killers effort worthless. It's not about "deserving" a 4k or an escape, it's about the fact that the hatch rewards survivors who didn't play well as a team. And punishes killers who did play well by accomplishing their objective. Regardless of who reaches the hatch first, it's unfair to both killers and survivors.
That being said, I believe removing the hatch, keys and mori's all at the same time would promote better teamwork among survivors. Because you won't be walking around looking for the hatch with 2 people left anymore waiting for your team mate to get killed, and it will prevent "new killers" from being reliant on mori's.

I said Scooby-Doo (cmon it'd be cool), or Supernatural

I fully understand what you're saying - but what you're saying makes no sense. You're insinuating that somehow, pipping is hard.
We've known the emblem system is garbo since it came out. They've never been able to get it right; that doesn't mean it's difficult.
When did I insinuate it was hard? I merely pointed out it's not reliable.. Since you can depip and play well, but also pip and play like #########.

Someone's getting hostile. Did I make too much of a point for you?
In any case - the same applies for killer. Just because you got a ton of bloodpoints doesn't mean you played well; and pipping isn't hard. It's only hard if you don't understand how the emblems work. Are they out of whack and lacking sense? Of course - but they are also easy to figure out. This is why the majority of the community knows ranks are meaningless.
How is pointing out your lack of understanding hostile? If you're not understanding what I'm saying intentionally or not, shouldn't I point that out? But you got defensive, so I have to assume that I made too much of a point for you... As far as your "points" go, you basically just agreed with me in that post...
-
While I don't like SWF, the devs showed a long time ago that 3 and 4 man groups were no where near as common as 2 man groups.
And if you're going to take out the "play with friends" aspect of a game, it may as well be single player.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1421679#Comment_1421679
Again - 20k bloodpoints doesn't mean you had a good game. You can get that by destroying totems and dive bombing hooks, while not doing a single generator. You can do it by camping pallets and dropping them on the killer. You can do it by just repairing one generator and making it take longer by intentionally failing skillchecks.
Bloodpoints earned and how well you played have ZERO correlation. Someone with 10-15 BP could have, in theory and in practice, been a better team mate than someone with 20k BP.
It feels like you're missing my point.... I never said BP had any correlation between how well you played. I said it represents what you actually did in the game. Putting aside players who hook bomb and farm and "gifted" people who intentionally miss skillchecks, BP directly correlates with what you've done in a match.
What I'm saying is I've done well in matches and depipped, and I've done bad in matches and pipped for it. I said in my first post that the emblem system doesn't always work, if you would read it. The emblem system determines your BP gain at the end as well as whether you pip or not. We're talking about pips and depips, not how well people play....

I think it is a waste of time for devs. Who will watch all those movies, huh? I mean, people here are raporting each other for tuneling, camping, and other unknown reasons. On top of that often i just dont know why killer found me, and i need to wait to the very end of the match to even find out.
Reports on tunneling, camping and other reasons like that aren't even looked at. Or at the least they're quickly filtering them out.
And simply put, a feature like this should be implemented already. BHVR should have a dedicated support team like any other company. They do want visual proof, (ideally recordings) of the misuse. And this would allow more players to easily provide it.
Honestly, I think a lot of players will report ingame stuff, but not bother with the support ticket. So it's just a way to make it easier and more reliable to do. Since now you can show proof of whatever misconduct you see; and the devs can decide what to do from there.

If it was anime, I'd have to say Tokyo Ghoul without question, with Rize Kamishiro (The Glutton) as the killer, and Kaneki Ken as the survivor while he's human.

Ignore the "just do totems" experts.
In many games you don't have the time as a team to search ands cleanse all dulls. Doing so would result in a lose for the whole team. So you don't do them safe the time, do gens, don't heal and maybe 2 or 3 are able to escape.
But then the killer gets for free more movement speed and exposed on his basic attack. It becomes even more worse with other combination perks and on certain killers. And it feels a little bit frustrating that the developers and the killer expect from you to do dulls bc you can't with every team.
But now I am gonna switch the sides.
When you as a killer baiting right, lead survivors into misspositions and missplays, survivors got perks like Dead Hard. You chased right but well they still have E. Or you start slugging bc you see an opportunity to gain tons of map pressure or maybe a win. Because as a kilelr you should take any chase to your advantage to kill all survivors or at least make a certain amount of map pressure so that from a time efficiency perspective the survivor team wouldn't be able to switch it around anymore. But then they have Unbreakable. And all the pressure is gone and if their teammates were patient and stayed on gens, what you wanted to use to ur advantage, it's now their advantage and your mistake because of Unbreakable.
Conclusion? That's dead by daylight. I don't think that I am wrong when I mean to say: The devs want this games where perks, addons, plays, switch around the whole outcome of the game. They want these perks where it seems like the killer or the survivors are losing but then THIS perk comes in and everything changes. So games become unique and different, exiciting, emotional.
But you know, people wanna win in dbd. And if, always. So they hatetalk perks like noed or unbreakable because those perks crossed their masterplans, at least maybe or for this moment.
Do I have noed or unbreakable? Oh I hate them both and I am always raging when Dead Hard, or Unbreakable or Noed or Enfury triggers. But at the same time I know why these perks are there and it's absolutely fine for me.
My only issue with NoED is a lot of the haters refuse to do anything but gens. Because they've gotten it in their head "why should I do anything but gens scrub?"
The problem is right now a lot of survivors don't want to do anything but gens and escape... They complain about NoED, but are perfectly capable of dealing with EVERY other hex perk? What people are REALLY upset about is they have to look for the totems and cleanse them because ANY of them could be NoED. And that's too much work for even 1 person on the team. If any survivor sees a lit totem you can bet your ass they'll at least try to cleanse it even if it's Haunted Ground.
So the reality is that survivors don't hate NoED, they hate the fact it's not obvious where it's going to show up... I guarantee if NoED had a glow on the totem it would activate on if it did, people would cleanse it EVERY SINGLE TIME. And they wouldn't come on the forum to ######### about something because "they worked for it".

Do you ever contribute anything constructive to things you post on? I agree the term "genrush" needs to go, but he's not wrong about survivors wanting constant hand holding.
A lot of survivors ######### and ######### and ######### about slugging, tunneling and camping even after the devs have repeatedly said they're "viable" strategies. They accuse killers of using "scummy" tactics because they work, and most can be countered. @CaulDrohn literally said killers SHOULD GIVE people crowns, so what else should killers "give" survivors?
