  • Also, I am a killer main but I've been trying to be more balanced Recently

DS going away when someone else gets hooked isn't a little thing...it literally removes one of its most important uses: saving yourself from bad teammates and camping killers. I don't think you play enough survivor to understand the impact your suggested changes would have :/

The second one is a change to that, if you unhook with ds then it goes away.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1273398#Comment_1273398

Ah that's a reasonable complaint I suppose. It doesn't need a huge nerf in order to fix that problem though. What do you think of my suggestion?

Just disable it when someone else gets hooked, or if you unhook then your ds goes away. Just a few little things or make it infinite, its turns off if you work on a gen, take a protection hit or someone else gets hooked. Just my idea

How is DS not balanced? It makes tunneling harder for you?

I think for the most part it's fair, alot of people just farm hooks in my face and it gets abused. I think that should be fixed

It's just that, it'll be nice to hear about NEW perks.

Like...I want to hear your Anti-Tunneling perk, something that would get survivors to say "Okay, I can use this instead."

Instead of asking for DS changes, or nerfs.

    Get me?

Yeah, I just want the game to be balanced on what it has now

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

    Jesus Christ......

I've seen your posts before, I'm not trying to whine about ds or say its overpowed. I just wanted some ideas about what could be done and wanted to hear some other voices.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

When I hook survivor A, leave, find+chase+down+hook survivor B. Survivor A is saved during all this. Survivor A BT+DS saves Survivor B. I go after Survivor A thinking enough time has passed. I down Survivor A and they still have DS.

That's my issue with the perk. If I hook someone else Survivor A's DS should deactivate because I wasn't tunneling. They came to me. The people who say "The devs never said it was an anti tunnel perk so your arugment is invalid!" That makes it a 2nd chance perk which is even more broken.

    Agreed

The things bothering me about DS are

eating DS after the guy was healed up

survs forcing DS by locker jumping, body blocking or staying on an objective etc

Idk how to fix that but tbh I would completely change DS

I hate hooking like 2 others and still getting dsd

    @terumisan said:

Option 1 anything a survivor does besides healing or chase related things vaulting putting down pallets ect disables decisive strike.

Option 2 you can't recover while you have ds

What I'm saying is a vast majority of survivors won't do what you guys do. They will go for saves.

Plus I honestly don't consider kills or escapes a win. I consider a pip a win since that's how you rank up. Anyone can hide all game and just rush gens or play for hatch just like anyone can put on a mori and 1 hook tunnel every survivor they find. You're not going to pip from that. Getting a pip actually reflects your skill better than escapes/kills.

But thay also depends on how the other side plays, if a killer does nothing then you probably wont pip same for survivors.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265694#Comment_1265694

Yea but that's something you have to force as killer. Very few survivors, especially even fewer SWFs, will just rush gens and leave unless you are an Insid Bubba in the basement staring right at the guy camping. What your group does is the exception not the rule. If they did that, that's punishing me for doing what I'm doing. What is the problem in that?

Furthermore, while you might be escaping and punishing the killer you also punish yourselves. You won't pip for leaving someone to die and running out the gate, you won't get a lot of BP. You escape and deny the killer more kills that's really it.

Almost like your job is to escape or something

No these guys were good I just played like a massive jerk is all. The Claud led me on a chase, as Spirit, for a solid 3 gens (mainly because she was Blendette on Coldwind with purple fog so she was hard as ######### to track). They had 1 gen left when I won the game (I forced them into a sort of 3 gen by camping Claud at the basement because there was a gen in shack and 2 more close enough for me to phase). They had the entire meta perk set. They played really well. I just got 2 of them in a bad position and took full advantage of it. If they had done one of those gens instead I don't think I could have won, but I forced them to mess up over and over and won.

I had another game as GF against a 3man (possible 4man, 3 had the same clan tag) on Ironworks. The Ash was REALLY good at looping and super hard to catch. I played like a jerk and tunneled/camped his 2 friends who were gen jockeys and not as good in a chase. I eventually killed them, then caught Ash right after the gate was opened. Steve got out, but I got the 3k on the 3 man clan. Again I won against a solid team by playing like a jerk. Steve almost got caught too. I got a 3k, a solid pip, and like 25k BP. That's a win, is it not?

Again, even though they were good in chases doesn't mean they didn't play over altruistic. In my 4man if the killers camping we slam gens and punish that.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265628#Comment_1265628

There are other options. I have a very evil build for Spirit that is basically all the anti-heal perks stacked with MDR/Amulet. No amount of "overpowered" survivor perks can be that, I'm very confident in saying this.

Additionally, you can just play like a massive jerk. Slug, camp, tunnel. When its valid of course, doing it outside of tactical reasons will have you lose.

Case and point I had one game as Spirit where they were trying to bully me. I caught the Claud and put her in shack basement. I camped her, forced an unsafe rescue, slugged her, got the guy that saved, hooked them, camped her and the slug. One tried to save so I slugged him. The last guy was already injured and when I found them, the third guy use Unbreakable. I left the 4th guy, went back and slugged the UB guy again, then caught the last guy trying to make the rescue. GG

I've won a bunch of games I should have lost by just playing super scummy. That's all you gotta do to beat these perks and to a lesser extent SWF.

Or mabye the swf wasn't very good, not insulting you or anything but it's a fair assumption. They were over altruistic and lost.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265600#Comment_1265600

Nothing even to do with that. True and Otz both frequently make massive mistakes. They don't need to play perfectly as much as they need to not royally mess up.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1265602#Comment_1265602

LOL "I'm a rank 1 killer with 6k hours" calls them entitled survivor.

I agree that you should lose for massive mistakes, my issue is that multiple survivor perks can get you out of losing for those mistakes and the closest killer perk that does that is noed. One perk to a multitude of survivors perks that can turn a game around, some even more so than noed

  • I mean you used to hide your rank every stream, congratulations though, you got to rank one and we all know how difficult it is😊

So how are survivors gonna escape?? - 360 gets nerfed, windows and loops taken away. STOP nerfing survivors give us some reason to try at this game because the only way we win is if matchmaking fails and gives noob killers because otherwise every killer below rank 10 knows how to bait and has all the broken add ons. Killers can camp us and we can't do anything about it what possible upper hand do we have?

Is this bait or are you being serious? When did nurse ever have 9 blinks? I've heard of 5,4 and 3.

basically its to easy most of the maps are so small now that as ghost face i can stalk from across the map and just down everyone. The big ass dead zones are super easy to kill in as well there is no thrill in the chase its oh hey i have you in a deadzone let me just kill you really fast they dont have a chance to lose me anymore and as doctor i can just use my shock wave to see where they are through the whole map its not fun and the changes that were made either need reverted or the killer needs to go through a huge nerf too

Mabye, just mabye your going against low ranks or, and really follow me on this one. Survivors tend to be unskilled which gives killer the appearance of balanced or even overpowed/easy.

    This makes absolutely no sense.

A mori cuts 2/3rds of a survivors gameplay. A key has its use when at least gens are done.

And even if the last survivor uses a key to escape when you've 3'ked, why are killers so high and mighty and feel entitled to get their 4k?

Take the 3k and stop complaining. And no, the 3 escape through hatch doesn't happen every match, it's quite rare.

Just let one escape due to a mechanic every game idiot.

The mechanic itself isn't my biggest issue. My issue is with the trash that abuses it then acts as if they did anything difficult. Moris, keys and hatch in general.

  • @Babyyy_Boyy said:

Idk I think it’s unfair... The devs should just remove keys and moris. Both are unfair but I’m leaning more towards the 1 hook mori. I feel like the devs should only allow Ivory moris or cypress moris or just make the survivor have 4 hook stages instead of 3 only when the killer brings an Ebony Mori. I get that some killers like the animation or whatever but let’s be real while the mori’s may look cool, I feel like killers bring it just to be an A**hole to be honest. Sometimes killer will even say “Gg Ez” to a survivor after tunneling them off hook. I’m not one of those toxic survivor mains btw before anyone calls me that, I play both sides at rank 1 and I think that this topic should he discussed. What do you think of Keys and Moris?

No one likes keys, no one likes moris.

Cypress moris should be base for dailies.

Broken keys should last 30 seconds for aura reading.

The difference is that finishing gens are the objective of survivors. Killers choose to camp or tunnel because they are either weak or not good at all.

Killing is the objective of the killer. I'm tired of survivors trying to cry it's not. You want to know why killer camp and tunnel? Mabye even at 5 gens? Because when they play nice, maybe try something different, all they get is teabagging and toxicity. Put up with that for hundreds or even thousands of hours and continue to whine about a killer ######### killing you.

    Not been solo queuing

  • @KingFrost said:

Because keys, while very powerful, do not change the game dynamic in the way Mori's do. A Mori basically turns the game from 5 gens vs 12 hooks into 5 gens vs 4 hooks.

5v12 = Survivors have 41% of the objective that killers do

3v12 = Survivors have 25% of the objective that killers do. BUT only if the killer has completed 50% of his objective already.

4v12 = Survivors have 33% of the objective that killers do. BUT only if the killer has completed 25% of his objective already

5v4 = Survivors have 125% of the objective that killers do. Even if the survivors haven't completed any of their objectives.

A moris power depends on the survivors skill, 2 chases can be 5 gens in some cases. Its all about context.

First of I'm going to start this off with a little statement..

I don't have a problem with NOED at all, all these people complaining about it there is only three words.

    DO THE BONES.

Ok, now onto the topic. The past couple of days or so when I've been playing on the survivor side, I've come across killers like the chainsaw butt bois (billy & leatherface) and well everyone knows they have the 1 hit down moves and I only mention these two as it just seems to be them doing this but along with their insta-down the last gen pops and wouldn't you know it they also have NOED or if we got all the totems then I see noed in the scoreboard.

As I said I don't have a problem with noed, I use it myself, my question is why?

Why use up a perk slot with noed when you are playing as a killer with one shot abilities? It just makes no sense to me to be honest.

    The flex.

You ever seen someone get downed by a noed, rancor and tier 3 Michael? That is asserting massive dominance.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1231515#Comment_1231515

It be like that sometimes. Had that happen too before, but it's just another day, another game.

I don't run into many players running keys anyway or using them, so for the biggest part, i don't actually mind if they escape through hatch, but thats just me.

Free moris should definitely not be a thing. I've experienced and saw my friends get tunneled from the beginning until they become 'kill-able' and get moried within the first few minutes.

Keep in mind, I made that post after I kid you not, 7 games In a row of either brought in keys or chest keys.

I honestly think killers should have cypress built in for dailies, delete dull and skeleton keys. Mabye make broken keys have 30 seconds of use so you could still use aura reading.

Edit:ivorys and ebonys would go to.

    Just my opinion

  • @SmarulKusia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1231507#Comment_1231507

Unfortunately that is the case. I play SWF, and two of my friends love running the killer, which leaves me and the other friend to do gens for the biggest part unless we end up in a chase with the killer. We're not the best chasers and prefer to not have to do, but we can run killer for a gen or two, sometimes even three.

This is why SWF is crucial. It's meant to be a team game but unless you have communication, this game can hardly be played as a team because there is a lack of communication and cooperation going on lol.

I think swfs break the mechanics a little much sometimes, I think if solos were brought up to swfs then killers up to swfs it would be the best option. Most people agree but some have other ideas.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1231500#Comment_1231500

Okay and? As killer, you're gonna be running around the map and should probably scout out where hatch is if it's coming close to a hatch game. Hatch only becomes usable after 80% of the match is done, whereas Moris can be available very early in game.

Depends on what you see as early game, I just had somone pull a key out of a chest and then key out of 5 gens technically. I closed hatch and then he "outskilled" me.

Yeah moris can be used early if the team or individual survivor is dumb and let's you end 2 chases with them very fast.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1231387#Comment_1231387

I politely disagree with your opinion, I've gone up against tough survivors or survivors that think they're cute when they try to flashlight save their friend and I still manage 4ks frequently. If a survivor team manages to outplay me and escape, then good on them - killers have several advantages over survivors and it's very obvious.

Tbh, it's not even good survivors that can loop amazingly that win the most, it's the ones the ######### immerse and stay on gens 24/7 and want little to no interaction with the killer.

Most swfs or good survivors want to have fun and mess with the killer in some way. This can lead to you winning most of the time if you play it right.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/146182/why-dont-killers-have-a-random-chance-to-get-a-free-mori

Because you have a higher chance of getting ebony moris in your bloodweb than survivors have a good chance of getting purple items. The Items take up space in their bloodweb which otherwise could be allocated to getting more perks for them and etc.

Not only this, but items are on a limited meter, moris aren't. you don't just run out of a mori half way through and suddenly the survivor survives. lol

You understand 1, you can see a mori before the game starts and at least know it's there. Unlike chest keys.

2, you can have your item at even a sliver of percentage left and it's still usable so unless your unable to see the bar and know to save it, your fine.

  • @Science_Guy said:

As much as this community loves simplification, keys and moris aren't "the same thing", and this kind of suggestion only makes any sense if you keep pretending that they are.

They aren't the same, their just the closest thing to eachother for killers and survivors.

  • @Duskyy said:

Killers obviously cannot get a free Mori. I get that it would be really nice to get something for killer that compares to chests but for example, flashlights need skill to learn how to use. If you get a Mori for free. You only have to hook the survivor once and once they get unhooked you down them again, and hold M1 for a second. Then boom. They are dead. That is depending on what Mori it is though.

Keys are the same idea, get 2-3 gens done? Immediately escape for rng.

This os exactly the kind of selfish attitude that ruins this game. It doesn’t matter though, people just want the win no matter what, even if it’s a low effort no skill way.

Also once again killers saying bring DS/BT pretending its a genuine counter but the next thread they’ll be begging and pleading with the devs to nerf both perks.

    Disgusting.

Imagine calling the person saying everyone can play how they want selfish, LEL.

But on a serious note, please explain how it is selfish to say that killers can play as they please and just because someone plays a certain way doesn't mean everyone has to.

For the same reason he can choose to not tunnel, other killers are allowed to and its because players can play the game how they like (obviously excluding outside clients or cheats and such)

But if you... have ... deadzones... then you need... something... to... work with.

Lets not forget that not every survivor is ressourceful with Pallets and can screw over the other 3, who actually are.

Why should the killer be punished for your bad teammates by putting enough pallets to waste mindlessly.

Rank 1 who black pips a 3k game is mad? Dude probably dcd since the new meta is you downed him and went for a 4k. This would be a whole different post if you just hooked him. PS you're mad when you almost had a perfect game over a pip that means literally nothing especially at rank 1.

I wasn't even slugging for 4, I have zero issues with someone escaping via hatch or a door after someone dies.

My issue is that he escaped with virtually no counter play and I was penalized for it.

  • @whackamole said:

Are you sure you're being honest?

You say they got 4½ gens done before you downed a single player

But the scores tell a different story. For a player to die with less than 10,000 BP means they were killed fast and never really played. I guess it's possible the person you killed just didn't contribute. If he'd helped on the gens alone he'd have made that much, plus being alive that long, skill checks, and of course evading you. As for getting your power, that's about you eating blood so it's on you.

We all have bad games sometimes, but it seems like you're blaming the game.

What I'm hearing is that you managed to get 3k with only half a gen for them to do.

That doesn't tell me they favor survivors. That tells me it's so easy that you got 3 players with only ½ a gen as their job.

It does suck the guy DCd. You lost a little bit of BP. But you still know you got 3 kills. How are you complaining if you got 3 kills?

It's like that post that said killers complain if they don't get 4k.

You won the game if you get brutal killer.

As long as you hook everyone, you've done well. I played a game where I hooked everyone twice but only one person got the third hook. I KICKED ASS. They were a really well coordinated SWF and I had them losing their minds. It took ten minutes to do the last gen. To tell the truth, I'd prolly have gotten three of em but when the last gen popped, the unhooked survivor and savior went to one gate and the other went to the other. I went after the lone guy because I think it's rude to chase someone right off the hook.

But the point is... I kicked ass! We all had a great match. I only killed one but I got like 70,000bp and I really gave em a run for their money.

What is the obsession with 4k?

And while it's possible the guy you killed at 8000bp just didn't participate in the game, part of me wonders if you just did him dirty. From my observation, any time someone dies with less than 10,000bp it's cuz the killer camped, tunneled, or mori'd them fast. So if you DID do him dirty maybe the guy DCd because you did him dirty, too.

While DCing sucks, I find it mindboggling that you are complaining that it's too easy on survivors on a game where you killed 3 people. The DC only means you lost a little bp. You still know you got him. And in my experience, players don't dc when you play fairly. Is it possible you got shady because you felt desperate?

Killers, you don't need 4kills to win.

    Brutal killer means you won.

Horror movies USUALLY have a final girl.

Someone getting away isn't a failure.

The issue wasn't that I didn't 4k, my issue is that someone escaped without any form of counter or skill.

If he'd opended a door or even used a key I wouldn't have minded as much.

They had found hatch, the dc noise played and magically he wa right next to hatch with his buddy.

You did not play well at the start. It's expected that Oni will perform poorly before he gets his first hit, but normally that means 2 or 3 gens pop. So your start was below par, but as Oni is, you still got a 3k. You played very well at the end as what may as well be the "comeback killer" and won. I don't understand why you are complaining.

The issue isn't that I didn't 4k, if one would've escaped through hatch normally I wouldn't mind, this however guaranteed it and imo that unfair asf.

They didn't even have any toolboxes or perks to help them with gen speed.

Basekit Billy is good. A little on the stronger side, but not blatantly OP.

When you add Carb Tuning and Primer Bulb, yes. When you add Exposure perks, yes. When you only get downs with your saw, yes.

The devs can fix ONE of these problems.

@PodgeNotRodge I can snowball very well and easily as Pig. Does that make her OP?

@xRem that's a different issue. Matchmaking a low purple with a lower performing killer (Demogorgon) against reds with possibly an OoO SWF squad doesn't relate to Hillbilly's power level.

The point is that even with all that, it's not even close to what survivors

Before I continue, let me preface this with "I'm a killer main" but I also play Survivor and I have been a fair amount recently.

Anyway. Recently, I have gotten into 3 games, back to back with The Oni. Now the way to beat the Oni is to gen rush him, don't both healing. However, personally, I feel that the Oni should be nerfed in many a capacity

For a start, he can whip around corners with his demon dash, who came up with that and why? With the Billy, it's a tad different, you have a chance to miss but with the Oni, it's near impossible to miss. Especially around trucks etc.

and lastly but certainly not least. He gains blood fury ridiculously quick, I get the idea of the power but my god, he can go from Blood Fury to Demon Dash to Downed Survivor to Hooked Survivor and back to Blood Fury again within easily 1-2 minutes if he's efficient. Why?

    Please, nerf him.

Also, off topic. Why did BHVR feel the need to remove the thing where you can't leave the trial with a bear trap on your head from the Pig, that's literally her entire kit and is precisely the point of the bear trap and yet they removed it. Now Pig mains get to be bullied at the gates and still escape, nice one.

Drop pallets early, go to short loops or double vault as he cant hit the angle around the corner. I main oni and know these things that I use constantly and it's nice that a killer requires something even a little different then running circles and because I have eyes, can click a button and hold forward I can loop a killer for 5 gens. Oni requires something a little different and frankly it's nice having something even slightly different.
