Tbh I've been on a losing streak for a few days, I assumed because of sleep deprivation (baldur's gate induced) but there have been a lot of changes that make it hard for me to actually start matches off strong. Like the spawn logic does stop survivors instantly spreading out but that also makes it harder to spot them so I can spend a full minute of my match trying to find them and only find one after a gen pops. Then there's the buffs to healing and stuff and I just can't keep up sometimes. I only played one match of the event and just kinda decided I'm not playing for a few days because it was awful. I play for chase, but I so often get forced to play macro that I just don't enjoy it. The annoying thing is, I can see myself having won many of the matches I lost, if I tunnelled, but because I played nice I get BM'd at the exit gate.

This mirrors my experience especially the always getting BMed part even when playing fair

  • What do you think about straight up banning killers that get reported for tunneling? Like the first time you tunnel you get a 24 hour ban from queueing so you can learn your lesson. I bet that would fix the problem

I got about halfway through the video so far, I'll watch the rest later. This guy makes a couple good points, but overall... not really. His section on healing compared modern day healing under the hook with resurgence to old COH.

Getting healed with resurgence is fast, no doubt...but it only comes into play after the person who has it equipped is unhooked. It's not going to really affect the hit and run killers like Wraith like he said. Old COH was strong because 1 person's perk could continuously provide massive benefit to the whole team essentially at all times. Even if all 4 ppl equip resurgence... its not helping them heal faster if a Wraith smacks them and leaves.

As far as faster games with Springtrap goes, I feel like thats legitimately player skill. I've been playing him myself and on the games where I lose... I honestly feel its because I didn't play very well. Theres plenty of room for improvemen. I feel once people start actually start being honest with themselves in that there's room to improve and they arnt gods at the game, they'll start having a more positive attitude.

I just played hit and run Wraith the other day and people kept healing so fast that it wasn't doing anything to pressure them. It also didn't help that the map had 5000 pallets (movie theater one)

  • Well every killer player is basically expected to be Otz or Hens while every survivor is considered to be a Meghead when balance is taken into consideration

  • Attacking them personally like that is wrong but remember people paid money for this character. I'm sure it's pretty annoying having the dev team laugh about how they butchered the character to deliberately make them basically unplayable

  • Well it's never getting changed for us PlayStation players. Sony will not allow changing trophies unless it's actually impossible to achieve

  • I'm on PS5 for context. When I didn't have to play against PC/Epic. My biggest desire for this game is console only crossplay

  • Great change. Tired of Comp Key/Bone and Eyrie every single game

  • The compies can just spam the survivors start separated offering now instead so I think they'll be just fine

  • image.png

Are you guys forgetting about games with DCs not counting? That could explain some of the time discrepancies. My killers that are below 60% are Singularity and Xenomorph which isn't surprising at all. My top kill rates over 80%

    Skull Merchant 83.52%

    Spirit 83.36%

    Wraith 82.82%

    Freddy 82.20%

    Pig 80.43%

  • Eh if it's too much nerfs hey'll make him do stuff 0.2 seconds faster a year from now

The fact that you guys keep pretending like teabagging at gate and slugging and bleeding out are the same thing is hilarious. The Devs on here have already said that it’s not the same as the killer has agency to force survivors out or force an endgame mistake that gets you an extra kill or two. You don’t have to stand there and watch them teabag. Go break pallets and farm points or force them out with hits which also gets you points. Survivors being bled out have no agency to do anything. Thats from the devs.

The devs also wanted to ensure teabagging was still satisfying when they changed survivor animations so they aren't interested in changing this for the sake of the killer. I already knew that

  • I haven't seen a Hillbilly since 2v8

Had someone in a match refuse to down me until the last person died on hook so that I couldn’t abandon. Told me they wanted to force me to stay to see the mori because “it’s not fun to mori bots I want the player to be there for it.”

It’s very clear to me that many people are mad about this because being able to abandon takes away their power trip fantasies of forcing people to stay in and watch them get off on being a sore winner.

Wow your second paragraph sounds exactly like survivors sitting in the exit gates for the entire EGC so the killer can watch them teabag and run out. Almost like the devs should do something about that!

I've seen streamers do this. They refuse to down the last person so that the other players that are slugged still get bled out

  • I only like to play against killers I can loop for 5 gens like Pig

  • @ratcoffee said:

Never understood the mentality of having people do something you see as toxic, experiencing how bad that feels, and saying "I want to inflict that bad feeling on other people by doing something similar"

How is an endgame mori toxic exactly? Basically everyone finally agrees teabagging and sitting in the exit gates is toxic. People don't even bother to flimsily say "I just want to give a hit so the killer gets extra points, guyz!!!" like they used to

I see where he's coming from though. You sit there playing against some trash can SWF trying to be as frustrating as possible. Constantly trying to Sabo, flashlight save, contest every down, shove every second chance perk in your face, but as soon as you fight through that and get the upper hand they can just bounce. It's very unsatisfying

  • Friendly reminder it took them 7 months to nerf Made for This. Nerf Batteries Included tho

  • @SweetbutaPsycho said:

I mean at least as a killer you can still do stuff even if gens are being "tunneled", whatever that means. You can go around and defend the other gens, chase survivors etc. Also as a killer you always have a chance for a comeback. As surv pre anti tunnel, if you didn't have the right perks, your gameplay loop would consist of one chase then hook, unhook, down, unhook, down, dead ⇒ congrats you earned 4k points and zero emblems and zero fun, back to queue you go. It forced many survs to run the same strong anti tunnel perks and this forum was flooded with players complaining that they only play against meta build survs all day.

Also the devs tried first to fix it by rewarding killers for hooking different people. Multiple perks have their strongest effect when you hooked most of the team/everyone. Yet many killer players decided it's still more valuable in the long run to simply make it a 1vs3 and therefore an almost guaranteed win rather than using strong perks and risking a potential loss.

ImO it's good that antitunnel exists. Still remember the times where my queue times for surv were sometimes longer than my matches.

None of those perks that reward you for hooking survivors are stronger than making the game a 3v1 as soon as possible

Of course they don't. They don't play killer and don't know what it's like to have three gens pop in the first 90 seconds of the match.

What are you talking about? They know how to apply pressure properly!

  • Wow sounds like fun for survivors who needed old Dead Hard to last more than 20 seconds in chase. Doesn't sound fun for killer players unless we can go back to the gen kick meta version

  • I don't play Nurse anymore because she's too difficult on console. It's hard to establish muscle memory IMO. Don't want to invest too much time.

I gave up on trying to play Singularity. I just don't find him fun. I actually prefer playing Hag.

I stopped trying with Xeno because it's not fun constantly being stunned out of your power. It's way more fun playing Nemesis and Pyramid Head.

My go tos these days are mostly M1s (Clown, Pig, Ghostface, Dredge, Skull Merchant), Nemesis, Blight, and Huntress.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/447592/how-many-years-will-it-take-before-nurse-gets-nerfed

I'm going to ask the same question i always ask in these threads.

Do you believe the game should be balanced around players who are average skilled, or the highest skilled players? Based on your answer, the following must be true:

    • If you believe the game should be balanced around the highest skill players, then sure, i agree, lets rework and/or nerf the nurse. However, if you do that, you MUST by definition also contend with the fact that nurse blight, and maybe spirit and ghoul (their nerfs hurt a bit) are actually viable at that level, and the vast vast majority of killers simply can't compete at that level. So survivors as a whole need massive massive nerfs, or killers need massive massive buffs.
    • If you believe the game should be balanced around the average skill players, then you must contend with the fact that nurse is often one of the lowest, if not THE lowest kill rate killers in the game everytime BHVR releases stats. And therefore by definition, probably needs to be massively buffed and/or made significantly easier to play.

So which poison will you take?

Got em! We need to balance for the average clueless player if you start talking about how imbalanced tryhard SWF is but when it comes to killers we need to balance the game like every killer player is KnightLight or Hens

  • I'm man in chair parked in front of my TV. I don't have a setup currently for mouse and keyboard so I'll stick with controller

  • Even better idea - console only crossplay! Devs, consider this. Think of how great it would be for the game

  • The land 75 basic attacks quest gained progress for me in the regular mode. I didn't even realize the new chaos shuffle quests had come out until it popped

  • Getting a setup where there's very little pallets are extremely rare. The opposite is just as bad of a problem if not worse. The Autohaven maps are still bugged to spawn a ton of juiced tiles and pallets

  • I like to do that too with TTVers. If I win the match, especially if the person got tunneled/proxy camped/slugged, I always go to drop a GG WP to see if they get mad and go on a rant. I only ever get a GG WP from survivors when I get 3 and 4 outed, so I like to return the favor when I stomp someone

  • @RavenBirb said:

Someone out there that's a dev or something explain why every killer match i play i get swf p 100

then when i solo q or duo on swf myself i get people who rage quit or kill themselves on hook and just stand there mostly the whole match.

Is this a bug? or after 9 years can they still not configure Matchmaking fairly?

I don't want to have to sweat on every surv match cuz others do squat nothing

and i dont wanna sweat on killer every match because it perma pairs me with swf that dont get off this game

Because if you're even remotely competent at killer, you get to play against all the sweaty 4 man SWFs because solo queue players can't push high MMR like SWFs can. When you play solo queue, you're getting paired with other solo queue players.

My advice? Make your own matchmaking. If you see a Tuxedo/dark suit Ace, people with "<3" in their name, multiple TTVers, people with weird symbols or clan tags in their name, just run for the hills

  • You came to the right place as this forum is filled with some of the greatest killer players in the world that have no problem 12 hooking comp SWFs without camping and tunneling. This is the best place to learn!

  • Killers should be able to abandon if 3 gens are done and # of hooks is less than or equal to 1

  • You just need to keep one person up and they can't abandon

  • How are we supposed to make OP perks, killers, or maps better? We're not the devs. Basically all you can do is handicap yourself if you think something is unfair which the vast majority of people absolutely will not do. For example, when I play survivor, I never burn a map offering to a busted map because I know how ass it is to play against but that doesn't stop MY killer games from being 90% sent to badham, eyrie, comp key, comp bone

    Thanks friend!

I gotta say that doesn't seem even close to being an actual good perk. The way the discussion was going, I was expecting something stronger.

It's really a coordinated SWF perk to try to force you to 12 hook like shoulder the burden. It basically dunks on all the crappiest killers in the game but does nothing against the best ones. Probably why it really isn't used by the sweats too much. They don't need it vs Trapper Pig Freddy etc

I would be genuinely interested in the "orela perk that allows me to heal in 2 seconds". I looked through her perks and just couldn't find one that gives me anything close to that much healing speed.

I mean survivors in general and healing other teammates. Do No Harm facilitates that. The devs nerfed medkits and healing speed so hits would be more impactful to help killers spread pressure but then giga buffed resurgence and botany and introduced more healing perks so survivors can just snap their fingers and they're healed once they get off hook. I ran a build with Leverage and Sloppy and it did ######### all against healing speeds

  • I mean it is really strong but you can only have 4 perk slots. Need to have

    1. Windows of Opportunity to play the game for you and turn off your brain

    2. Decisive Strike anti tunnel but if the killer doesn't tunnel congrats you can body block with it or enjoy the killer playing less efficiently

    3. Unbreakable so you can get up if the killer counters your DS body block. You can also negate all pressure from a killer trying to slug and snowball

4: Some sort of giga buffed healing perk like Resurgence or Botany or an Orela perk that lets you heal in 2 seconds

See no room for Duty to Care

No thanks. I'd rather keep seeing the match end immediately. Go play the tutorial custom match against Trapper if you want to play against bots. Also, don't bother playing PvP games at all if "compies" frighten you this much.

I wouldn't care if this game was actually balanced such that playing against tryhards stacking meta on comms wasn't unwinnable for 95% of the killer roster, but alas the game is balanced towards both the survivor that has no idea what they're doing and assuming every killer player is Otz

  • Lol yeah I chuckle whenever I see a survivor main on these forums go "just take the losses bro! Let your mmr settle!" when anyone that's played killer for a while know that's flagrantly false. Getting ass pounded by some sweats on comms does little to nothing to lower your mmr

  • PLEASE allow killers to abandon whenever and replace them with bots. That would be awesome. I'd bounce every time I get matched vs cringe compies treating the pubs like it's major league gaming

  • @Garboface said:

Yeah, I just came to make a thread and ask what the purpose of this mode is? Nothing new but I played one game and lo and behold, a face camping clown that survivors simply couldn't resist feeding. Again, hardly a news flash.

You can't face camp anymore without the survivor unhooking in the killer's face

  • Just cause you got 4 outed doesn't mean you played bad!!! GG WP killer!!

  • If you're hoping the devs implement anything to prevent survivors from BMing the killer, you're going to be waiting a long time lol. If you all remember when the devs changed the animations they specifically noted when they were making them that they wanted teabagging to still feel satisfying

  • It can take at least 30 days. I had a couple that took that long. I haven't reported anyone in a long time because it takes way too long and the chance a subtle cheater gets banned is probably zero

I am truly sorry you can't find any other way to enjoy this game.

Do you say this to survivors that complain about getting tunneled? Because getting under 20k points means the gens flew (i didn't get to play the game much) or i couldn't catch anyone (terrible matchmaking). Either one is not a good experience

  • @LockerLurk said:

Friend, you tied. That's neither a win nor a loss - and within the 60% killrate. You're fine, you did fine. You don't need to 4k to have a good round.

Please, I beg of you, get off 2020-2024's "I must win at all costs" teat. The game becomes more fun when you aren't focused on wins at all costs and accept that sometimes, you simply will tie or lose and this is by design.

Not really. A game where I get under 25 - 30k points as killer was not a good experience

  • Ya'll are talking about the spawn changes like BHVR didn't also add an offering for survivors to start separated lolololol. Most mind boggling thing ever

despite them bringing a map offering and 2 strong toolboxes you ended up drawing by killing half of them, despite “2.8 gens done at first hook”. What exactly do you want, 10 minute gens? You didn’t even bring any slowdowns other than gift of pain.

I got my fifth hook just as gens finish and found someone with friends and the other 2 bounced. Not a well paced or satisfying game at all

  • We need anti gen rushing basekit mechanics

  • "Aw man, who cares! You barely ever run into teams like that! Most matches are just discombobulated solos that are doing their totem challenges! We don't need to balance for those teams!"

Wow literally first game tonight. 2.8 gens done at first hook and 1. I didn't take a long time to find someone, 2. the first person literally just held forward, pathed terribly, and didn't throw one pallet on Garden of Joy. 2.8 gens done.

We need anti-gen rushing quality of life changes!

Not to mention that the extra 1% they added to deja Vu is literally less than a second difference off of the entire gen's progress from 0-100%. (About 0.808 seconds out of 90 base, incredible value...)

For comparison, the call of brine buff amounts to about 8.5 seconds extra removed for the duration. So, despite cob being "weak" and "not worth running", the deja Vu bonus is literally about 10% as impactful as that.

The auras are the more powerful effect. It makes it easy to break gen clusters when the killer already has to give up like 3 gens at the beginning of the trial because they're always so spread apart. Also being able to quickly find gens saves a lot of time especially on indoor maps

1 2 3 4 … 13
