It’s nothing new, I fear.
Way back when, I remember NotQueen saying she wishes both sides had more empathy for each other.
🤷♀️
NotQueen didn't really help though she was the one that said BHVR wanted to make sure teabagging was still satisfying for survivors when they remade the animations lol
-
Tribalism is a part of human nature. "Us vs. Them" is one of the biggest appeals of this game
-
Killer has never been easier, you can close your eyes and move around randomly and 4k
-
Conviction is fine. It's basically only really powerful in good SWF, and as you know, killer players only go against good SWF like 0.1% of the time. The vast majority of games are against hapless, discombobulated solos

Chances are slim it'll happen. They've left plenty of bugged perks running in the past, including Call of Brine when it would literally revert a gen from 90% down to 0% in a second lol think that one stuck around for like 2 months.
Wasn't that Merciless Storm? For some reason there were a lot of skill check Doctors at that time!
-
They don't work on the weekend, so it won't be killswitched til tomorrow if at all
-
It's a little more than that though. You lose less MMR or lose none or gain less/gain none depending on how you match up against your opponents.
Like if I get matched against 30k hour comp survivors and I get dunked on and they 4 escape easy, I won't lose any MMR because the system "expects" me to lose. This is part of the reason why it takes forever for your MMR to drop

As Survivor, you just have so much more room to play differently — to mess around, try dumb stuff, go for funny plays or do random nonsense just for fun.
As Killer, you don’t really get that luxury. Not at all.Honestly, I think Survivors are in a much better position to “take responsibility” and make the match feel fair — if they want to. Just my opinion.
I've never once ever felt like survivors cared about my fun in this game at all, but I'm supposed to care about everyone else's. I've had a whopping 1 survivor give me a free kill when I had a bad game and that was back when Oni came out and it was my very first game playing him. 1 time lol over 6k hours
-
The matchmaking in this game is just abysmal. How is it possible in a functioning MMR system that my team of clueless bad full solo players is going against One Pump Willie's Pyramid Head on stream? 4k at 5 gens 2 minutes into the match with the 2nd person going down and rage quitting immediately.
While when I play killer, I consistently get 7k+ hour survivors that are either in SWFs or just skilled solos and I'm lucky if I scrape a 2k. I'll get a match where the survivors are average and I get a 4k maybe once every 6 games
-
What mindgames are you doing against people who predrop the map and hold checkspots?

100 percent. But sad to hear that u are playing less.. :/ Maybe the way you're doing it is better. There's a lot of ######### coming our way — but I don't care. It's been like that before, and people always found a way to adapt. Even if it won’t be fun (probably not for survivors either). There’s always been a way to adjust. So I’ll stick around until the very end.
Trust me, it's been hard. the sunk cost fallacy has been getting me for a long time with this game
-
I haven't played in like two weeks which is a record for me. I still follow the content creation circle to see what's going on, but unless something changes with MMR I don't enjoy this game enough to keep playing it. I perceive most changes and new content are turbo boosting SWFs and we haven't even gotten to the anti tunneling/slugging changes yet
-
Do you have any VODs or YouTube videos of you stomping teams with perkless killers? Would love to learn how to be a better killer player!
-
So you were mad that someone was playing the game casually?
-
Hey at least you weren't using Blood Favor, right? Wait until Hens makes a video about how it's unfun for survivors, and it will get nuked
-
My least favorites as a console player
Xeno - not fun getting stunned out of power constantly
Nurse - don't find her fun, don't want to play her enough to get muscle memory. Auto aim is worse on her than any other killer
Springtrap - Dealing with the pre running from good survivors is getting to be abysmal
Unknown - can't use his power well and the window to do damage is too small for console. I play him as m1 with teleport
Houndmaster - I like using the search function for chase and checking gens but the aiming is way too jank
Spirit - even though I have a really high kill rate on her. She's my highest after skull merchant. When I play her I find i have trouble precisely pinpointing where survivors are via audio and I end up getting frustrated and missing easy m1s
-
If you're getting whooped by Ghouls, just take the Ls and let your MMR settle until you're facing killers that are easy to play against like Pig

Exactly. If these killers are not balanced, why should anybody be forced to play against things that are unhealthy? Even though Cenobite and Knight will still get matches, I can predict the winner the moment the game starts if it will be Nurse, Blight, or Ghoul. I wonder if the developers even play their own game, as these three shouldn't exist in their current states if you want to classify Dead by Daylight as a PvP game.
They exist the way they do because they refuse to nerf 4 man SWF ::shrug::
-
I'd gladly trade a killer ban feature for the option not to have to queue against 3/4 man SWF
-
I tried to do this to someone who was teabagging the killer the other day but he hit a dead hard and got out anyways
-
I'm incredibly happy that I switched to being a survivor main. This is gonna be a great 2nd half of 2025!

I wonder what the queue time would be like for people who are simply good at the game. Theres a streamer who hasn't bothered using perks in 5 years. Should his queue times tank simply because he knows how to loop? Im sure the killers players he goes against would find competent survivors frustrating.
I played against that guy before. Recognized the name. I just straight up didn't chase him and went for his significantly worse teammates and won
-
So tired of subtle cheaters. Playing as wraith tonight. I kick 90%+ progress gen at 2 gens left. I smack the guy away and he runs off. I cloak and stand right by the gen. I hadn't done this once all match. I watch him as he slowly walks back and amazingly enough he just stares at me from a safe distance. Doesn't try to stop the gen regressing. He just knows!!!
-
Saying the game is balanced around 4 man SWF comp squads might be the funniest thing i've heard all year
-
I would love this. I can block all the compies that treat pubs like it's DbD League
-
I wonder what the data analysis process was while MFT went untouched for 7 months. Everything that's not Nurse or Blight on killer side gets turbo nerfed though. And even those killers are allowed to stay intact only cause BHVR refuses to nerf sweaty SWF
-
I'm not surprised. You were playing in a SWF. Killer players are advised to find a weak link and target them to deal with SWF
-
Timber is cooking in this thread. Yes, survivors BMing no matter how the killer played is common in 90%+ of matches. Even when the survivors have objectively lost, that last remaining survivor will bag you out the gate or wait until you walk over to him so he can hop out the hatch.
Bottom line is survivors can play as toxic (bully squads deliberately only playing to frustrate the killer and get him to DC), BMing in general or as boring as possible (split and slam gens, comp drop the map, make non stop call outs on comms, stack all meta) and it's totally acceptable. There's no outward community pressure for them to stop that. It's like how survivors can BM the killer non stop and killers get told to get thick skin even though people experience real negative emotions caused by bullying. But if a killer does it, BHVR introduces in game mechanics to make sure the survivors can't get a taste of their own medicine.
-
You can't punish people for playing with their friends!
-
Stan was the best part of the game
-
I've been seeing this since the update. I honestly thought it was a shadow buff. You can only listen for the distinct sound cue when it's used, you can't see the yellow indicator until they're hooked themselves
-
Those pallets are actually obnoxious when really good survivors that know how to play for the stun can place multiple ones at a tile. You're basically just screwed as an M1 but luckily most survivors are bad windows of noobertunity autobots
-
@Scarlett1111 said:
Yeah, just another change in their arsenal to baby killers so they never have to actually think.
Lol like the majority of the survivor playerbase isn't crutching on windows of noobertunity to play the game for them

…What does that have to do with anything here? I'm a little lost.
Just giving my opinion on the best way to deal with these perks to casual readers as an average killer player. You can argue about each one individually being more or less responsible all you want
-
The best thing to do is just tunnel the first guy out as long as they're not a juicer so you can ignore this crap. Hit and run hasn't been this weak since peak CoH. Splitting pressure is pointless in this meta

I would go that far. I see two Botany's a match these days. That reduces a Mangled heal from 20 seconds to just under 13 seconds. You're only gaining 2.5 seconds per heal using something like Sloppy Butcher from just Botany alone. Broken is a really rare status ailment, and Coulrophobia is really only viable on a handful of killers with extra large TR's. Most survivors aren't healing within TR unless they absolutely have to.
I once saw someone trying to heal through a Wesker running Sloppy, Coulrophobia, Unnerving Presence, and Distressing with naked Self Care lol

I thought you didn't play anymore?

Rough.
Was the Ace a TTV?
A very small viewership one. The map could have been another one with hard to hear footsteps like Borgo. It was the first game I played before I switched over to Springtrap to play him instead, so I don't really remember that well. I was annoyed that hit and run basically doesn't work anymore. I'd have done better just camping and hard tunneling the first person

Hemorrage + Leverage is a counter for Resurgence. Due to the unhook delay that happens (basically when you can't heal someone off hook), hemmorage will take their bar usually down to 50% before they start the heal, then leverage adds a 50% heal penalty onto the unhooker + the mangled debuff if it's something like gift of pain.
It's a bit overkill but it can have good results if you interrupt them since then resurgence will be completely wasted.
So proxy camp the hook so they can't heal? Don't even need two anti healing perks for that. I can just use No Way Out/Deadlock to help with camping/tunneling instead

Yeah, I remember them nerfing Mangled and Hemorrhage as a result of destroying the old CoH meta. Now they revert the healing meta, but not the other stuff. They do that a lot. They'll nerf one side as a consolation for a nerf to the other side, then undo the original nerf and leave the consolation nerf.
I remember them explicitly saying they wanted injuries to be more meaningful and allow the killer to slow the game down with injures rather than camping tunneling. Then they proceeded to giga buff Resurgence first then a bunch of other healing perks. I think the devs just throw darts at the wall at ideas and have no coherent vision for the game
-
I don't miss having to walk backwards to a gen when playing a stealth killer to "counter" this perk. That was one of the dumbest things you ever had to do to counter something. It was right up there with "just wait it out, bro!"
-
All they're looking at is trying to make this killer fun to play against so that means she's going to completely suck
-
Killers just need to learn how to apply pressure better. If they weren't just staring at the person on hook all game, they'd do better
-
These threads are always the same when the resolution is that killer players need to just learn how to apply pressure better

Okay. Apparently you're not understanding, so I'll try to explain it differently.
Let's say, hypothetically, that right now, there's 1000 High MMR survivors and 250 High MMR killers. Don't focus too hard on the numbers, they're just for illustrative purposes. However, according to you, and even Mandy, a lot of those 250 High MMR killers don't deserve to be there, right? They used "cheap exploits" to boost their MMR.
So you get rid of tunneling, and now the killers that used to rely on tunneling as a strategy against good players can no longer do that. Let's say 50% of those killer players. And they lose their way into a lower MMR bracket over the course of hundreds of games (assuming they stick around that long and don't just drop the game.)
Now, you still have 1000 High MMR survivors, but you only have 125 High MMR killers. That means that at any given time, 500 of those survivors don't have a High MMR killer to match with. So, after a few minutes, matchmaking gets the next best thing: A Mid-MMR killer who's about to absolutely get his teeth kicked in. So the survivors do their thing and stunt on a killer who never really stood a chance. Maybe if he'd have been able to tunnel, he'd have caught the survivors overextending and gotten a kill or three. But without it, he just gets two hooks and bagged at the gates.
You can call it a "skill issue" all you want, but the fact of the matter is that there's not enough Lilith Omens to go around. The killer players who are good enough to go against a good survivor squad without tunneling or slugging are extremely rare. So what's actually going to happen is that matchmaking is going to continually pull mediocre killers to go against survivors far outside their MMR range for the sake of expediency, and the mediocre killer is going to get his teeth kicked in.
I have no problem with taking away tunneling, or camping, or whatever. As long as you tighten matchmaking. If that means that some cracked TTV swf squad, or even just really good solo queue, has to wait thirty minutes to get a match with yet another comp Nurse, then so be it. But don't match them with a killer who's just going to get their butt handed to them after taking away any strategy that killer would have had to actually compete with those survivors.
And you can walk around telling these killer players to "git gud" all you want… but they won't. They'll either stop playing altogether or just give up when it becomes clear that the survivors are too good for them to compete with. I know I'm not going to be anyone's dancing monkey. If three gens pop in the first chase or two, I'll just tab out and surf Reddit or something. That happens often enough, I'll just play something else. Killer players are way more likely to drop the game than survivors. It's a solitary role, so there's no social pressure to log in to slog through it.
And if enough killer players decide it's not worth it, the game will die before BHVR has a chance to course correct. They'll be too busy "watching carefully," and we all know how long it takes for them to get any changes out of the door. So this idea that we'll just "buff killers later as needed" won't really work, because those killers will have moved on to another game. Then the queue times start adding up, and survivors start leaving because they can't get matches. It's literally what has happened to pretty much every other asymmetrical pvp game so far. One side (usually the "survivor side") whines and complains about things until the devs cave, and then the "killer side" just quits the game because it's no longer fun.
BHVR needs to tread very carefully with Phase 2, or it will join everyone else in the junk pile.
Really good post! I wish more people would understand this when they casually throw out "Just take the L until your MMR settles, bro!!" because there aren't going to be enough sweaty Blights/Nurses to play against the efficient squads.
I say let them sit in queue for 30 minutes at a time to find equally matched opponents but they already tried this before and content creators complained heavily. I don't know if you remember that time when basically every content creator killer main was getting absolutely destroyed every game when matchmaking was super tight. It was during CoH era
-
Yay!!!! Back to playing Comp Key / Comp Bone / Eyrie of Crows every single match!! Outstanding!! Another neuron melting idea
-
BHVR wouldn't admit it anyways if kill rates dropped. They never started showing any kill rates until after 6.1
-
Bet the guy that says this add on plays the game for you unironically uses Windows of Noobertunity
