Lose and play the next game. There isn't much else you can do in this situation.
Although I must say, that the matchmaking here seems to work flawlessly again. How does he manage to get 2 hooks at 5 gens?
Well, its a Blight. Cracked addons, CI, Leathal and Pain Res are very likely. Probably one survivor was close, unhooked very soon after and there we are.

I like it. Could also be a boon instead of having the time limit. Survivors within 24m of the boon have their auras duplicated.
This would go well with a stage magician character.

I like the effect, I don't like the activation requirement/duration. Like mentioned above, this would work very well as a boon.
I like the idea of this is a boom. I change that. I am not sure what is more ballanced / more fun to use. If the killer is inside the boon radius or the survivors are? Or both?

I agree that they took it to far. Every new gym they introduce is weaker then the previous one.
What JG do you mean? The four lane wall gyms?
If that is the case, the best way to play it is to drop the pallet and run around it at the outside. You should make 2 laps if the killer is not already bloodlusted. Aside from that, connect it with another tile. That is often not the case, but keep an eye on it. Here is a good example:

Yes, it's solo queue. We're at 5, soon to be 6 stages with 4 gens remaining against a Nemesis, a killer who needs 3 hits to down with his power. I've been chased twice, but not downed. I've also done the only gen between 4 players.
Where is my agency as a player in all of this? What am I supposed to do? Do I just lose the second I queue up? What is the selling point here gameplay-wise? There is no "escape enough and you escape these lobbies". When players have my experience level, we generally have 2+ escape. But I generally don't get matched with players near my experience level. I wouldn't be posting this if this game was irregular. I've put 4500+ hours and easily hundreds of dollars into this game while trying to be good at it, and these are my lobbies. Surely one can understand why that would be very frustrating for a player.
I'm not asking for free escapes. I'm asking for the game to respect the time I put into it. I don't think that's an unfair ask.
Edit:

And lest someone accuse me of being a whiny survivor main, I present my most recent killer game from tonight. At this point, I need proof that matchmaking is even turned on, because I straight up don't believe it.
I have good news for you my friend. All you have to do is run the killer for 5 gens. In lobbies like these, thats only 10-15 minutes. That should be an easy task since most maps come with 9-15 pallets. You might be unlucky sometimes that you get a bad seed with almost all palets beeing very unsafe, but dont worry. Most people play killers that you can counter. Nurse, Chucky, Blight, Spirit, Slinge, Wesker, Xenomorph, just to name a few.
GL HF with your solo 5 gen runs.

It was nerfed because it made stealth play impossible for killers. Ghost face and Myers could not build their powers
If you want a better version, just throw on stakeout
I am totally down for that. Old Spine Chill, but not working against undectable killers / effects. This would make the perk good egain, but not op.

In my opinion each killer should have their own pool of maps. This would help with balance SO much and would avoid things like Billy on Lerys or Dredge on Haddonfield.
You could also make it lore accurate by saying something along the lines of: "The Huntress has stepped outside of her domain and can be seen roaming around parts of the Autohaven Wreckers and the Garden of Joy."
No thanks. It would become repetetive very quick for players who main a certain character.

I've always believed the true advantage of SWF is much better quality control over your teammates.
Sure near-instant comms can be strong, but overall knowing your mates builds, tendencies, strengths & weaknesses all matter more. You also have the benefit of knowing they won't leave you behind, and if they're doing challenges or dailies too. Solo Q gets none of that, and cannot realistically get it either outside of showing builds somewhere, prolly in-game.

The entire problem when it comes to soloq is the fact you never get 4 equally skilled survivors a game. You also have challenges that want you to throw the game. This MM has terrible agency for a solo player.
They could make challenges not require survivors to throw the match and have MM based of the players performance instead of the team. Old emblem based matchmaking was miles better on reset compared to what we currently have.
True but not only that. You as a solo player dont know what every other survivor is capable off. Or what their playstyle is. Even tho in a friendly non tryhard SWF group, everybody knows whats going on, so they can adapt. If someone is a good looper, this person can take the heat while those who are good in finding and repairing gens do that job. Just an example.

survivor mains always cry when killers get good perks and they can form very very smart original combos since all other killer perks are bad. won't you stop until you get all killer perks gutted? just wait it out not that hard.
The most OP Perk killers are complaining is WoO, a perk which shows you the aura of pallets and windows 🤣
Or Deja Vu, minus 5 seconds on a generator. Gamebreaking!
Lithe now beeing often considered S tier. I remember it in the past when content creators called it a weak A or B+ tier perk. Note that it has not been touched.
On the other hand, look at the killer perks. BBQ for example is still the same and it was even without the Bloodpoints considered one of the very best killer perks in the past. Now it is B tier. Not because its weaker but rather because it got overshadowed by so many other even stronger perks.
If you really think killer perks are the ones who are suffering, i dont know what else we can tell you. It is factually wrong.

If you look at the player base carefully.
Everytime a killer buff news is released, the player count will go higher and everytime a killer nerf news is released, the number will go down.
If they really care about the player count, they should keep buffing killer.
But we can see the road map went to a totally different path.
The game was objectivly speaking the most ballanced between mid 2020 and mid 2021. They removed until then the most op stuff like moris or insta heals... you get the deal.
Since then, killers got their most impactful buffs (big map changes and reworks, deleting of the last remaining direct connected tiles, new very strong perks, longer gen repair times, less distance for survivor after hit, faster break ect ect yadayadayada).
Since then, numbers went down on steam from 60K to 28K. I firmly think your argument is questionable.
-
The question is, how to fix solo queue? We already got more or less all the meaningful buffs. The HUD shows exactly what everybody is doing and therefore it shows what everybody is supposed to do in the current situation.
Sure, basekit kindred for solo survivors might be an option, but this wont still be the ultimate solution since the main advantages of SWF come with the voice coordination, especially for specific situations.
Unless they add an ingame voicechat (i would HATE that) i dont see a good solution to Solo queue. Solo feels sometimes so bad because you never know what teammates you get. Some are just in for the BPs, some want to win and some have a daily quest and only care for that.
-
When the DBD forum community has no objection to a survivor perk buff, it is apparent that this perk should get its revert.
BHVR please make us happy again :)

Ultimate Weapon, Dead Mans Switch and Pain Res is more or less standard in my games since quite some time now, especially on Nurse Blight and often Wesker. It is op as hell, but with the Grim Embrace buff, this will become even more ridicolous.
I guess if this is going live i play Nurse exclusivly with this combo just to make people run on social media complaining until its nerfed into the ground.

I'd be curious to have you record a match you have and post it on youtube. Would be interesting to see what kinds of survivors you are going against and comparing it to the kinds of survivors i go against.
Certainly i get the "normal" solo queue survivors often, but, especially depending on the day, i get game after game of top tier teams.
Sure thing, sometimes you get the super tryhard 4 BNP 10K hours comp (wannabe) players and you often loose those. But that sometimes is super rare compared to the usual lobbies.
I basically get all the survivors you probably also get. I had matches against Hens, True and Otz from time to time as survivor tho. For some reason i never find any "famous" persons as killer but probably because i never really check names and they usually dont come with their original names due to stream sniping?

Have you not played games at high MMR? It's pretty much expected that the killer will lose 2-3 gens in the first chase against a decently competent team.
I'm guessing you play mostly solo queue as survivor so you don't see it that often. But its pretty common against killers who aren't nurse/blight/spirit and to an extent wesker/chucky.
I dont know what my MMR is. But since i win 90% of my killer games, its probably at least not low MMR. And there i never have this issue.
EDIT: Right now in my lobby the players i am versing and i can see have over 5000 (one is at 6500 and the other one is at 5000) hours, so at least i am not playing against complete beginners.
3K, 11 hooks with the Dedge on Badham Pre. That is my usal outcome.

You aren't accounting for map size, travel time, ease of locker access, the resurgance of Calm Spirit or player learning.
Why is it important? 12 seconds is more then enough to run for the edge of one side to the middle of basically any map.
Lockers are everywhere, basically always within 5 seconds. Its not like the killer has any stress to find a locker when everything is blocked for 12 seconds anyway.
Calm Spirit is a great perk against this build, basically it is mandatory to even have a chance against a good killer running this build. But i can hardly force my team of random people to run Calm Spirit?
-
@Reinami said:
Rushing gens. You have no early game gen defense and no chase perks. Meaning that your first chase should take a really long time because all the survivor has to do is predrop a god pallet. People often forget that every broken pallet buys the survivor a full 15+ seconds of distance. Now factor in that shift+w to a corner of the map buys you 58 seconds before the killer can hook you. All you need to do is slam the gens, the predrop a couple of god pallets, and the killer will lose 3 gens before they can even hook the first survivor chased.
Now the game is slowed down a bit, but that first pain res should be useless, so now they have a choice. Do they camp/tunnel? If so, they get 0 value from the rest of their perks. So now they have to spread pressure if they want to get value from them. But, spreading pressure now means that survivors have more time to work on the gens, so again shift+w, predrop a god pallet or 2, and you'll finish another gen or 2 before the 2nd survivor gets hooked. Now the game is effectively over.
The BETTER build yall need to worry about is Corrupt + DMS + Grim + Deadlock. Because Deadlock provides passive gen defense, and corrupt gives you early gen defense.
My personal build will likely go from what i use now:
Corrupt + Pain Res + Pop + Flex perk
To
Corrupt + Grim Embrace + DMS (until they nerf, then i'll replace with deadlock) + nowhere to hide/flex.
This will give me the best of both worlds, now that you get 8 regression events, my concern aroudn pain res + pop (and usually surge when i play m1 killers) is that i'll hit those 8 events. But with gen blocking, it doesn't matter. Nowhere to hide means now i can kick gens, get a 5% pop, and basically guarantee that i'll get some regression there, either by seeing that no survivor is there, or by finding the survivor and starting a chase quickly.
Rushing gens. You have no early game gen defense and no chase perks. Meaning that your first chase should take a really long time because all the survivor has to do is predrop a god pallet. You are loosing 3 gens before the first hook? TrueTalent, is this you? I am sorry, but that is a skill issue, and then of course no perk will carry you to victory. And it should not. But to be fair, this build will probably still net you the win.
Now the game is slowed down a bit, but that first pain res should be useless, so now they have a choice. Do they camp/tunnel? If so, they get 0 value from the rest of their perks. You dont need PR, rather you should safe your pain res for late game. Why would you pain res if you can lock the game? After the first hook, the gens are locked for 2 minutes (if not way way longer, depending on how DMS and Grim are working together).
Corrupt + Grim Embrace + DMS (until they nerf, then i'll replace with deadlock) + nowhere to hide/flex.
Also strong, but not broken as the one i posted.

but ultimate weapon literally does nothing, the gens already block without the survivor even stop touching it, it´s indeed overtuned, any low tier killer (B or less) can lose with any type of build, the question is, can you lose as nurse with this build? (impossible challenge)
I mean we have to test this out if it actually does, but at the absolute minimum, all gens are 4 time locked for 30 seconds plus the 40 seconds on top of that. That is already broken.
In worst case scenario it works as i think it does. 12 seconds for Grim embrace and another 30 seconds for Dead Mans Switch since it is still running. For sure on all of those who were not on a gen during Grim Embrace.
No matter what, the game is bascially locked for an absolute minimum of over 2 minutes. No progress at all. And after that, the usual insanity with UW, Painres and DMS begins.

Unlikely, as DMS and Grim overlap, making those perks redundant
They dont. You just UW after the 12 seconds when they hop back on gens.

@crogers271 said:
It's going to be powerful, probably too powerful, there are a few things that can be done.
Toolboxes + built to last. Plan to spend time in lockers.
Boons have more value as now spending the time to put one in play is not wasted because the gens are blocked (or inner strength).
Run resilience and don't ever worry about heals until gens are blocked.
Prove thyself might have a little more value. Group up on gens to finish them before the gen block / pain res happens, also limits the amount of gens that are blocked by DMS.
Basically: gen rush even more. It becomes critical that the first chase is at least decent and the survivors break the center gens.
Really good points in theory (by far the best post) but i believe there is no time to do gens. I mean it litteraly. Gens will be blocked 50% of the entire trial, if not longer. As soon as the first survivor falls, gens are blocked.
Just go through that in your mind after the first down:
Everything blocked with Grim embrace. Killer waits a bit, enters next chase, opens a locker, blocks every other gen when survivors are on them. Repeat this cycle 4 times. 40 seconds block. Now Pain Res kicks in with the standard build. The issue is, that Pain Res does not even need to be used in the early game, it is simply crushing the survivors in late when they are the most vulnerable.
That is a stong build, probably also to powerful, but no where near as powerful as the build i posted. You will share this oppinion very quickly when this is live, trust me 😉

@LordGlint said:
Like someone else said...it's slowdown but not really OP. If slowdown alone was enough to guarantee a win, Pig would be S tier.
How is this not op when the entire time of the game gens are blocked? I am assuming not all 4 players are running Calm spirit. And even then, it is unbareable.
Once you have your first down, when is there ever a time window where gens are not blocked? It is already completly op as it is now with UW, Pain Res and Dead mans Switch but with Grim Embrace this makes the game straight up locked. And like i said, once you might have any time to repair, pain res is helping out and also locking gens.
Not calling this op "Because you can wait it out" makes me question what killers you guys run into.
I mean i get it, Otz or other big contant creators will make a video an showcase how insanly op this build is and then EVERYBODY will cry because people will start playing it, but how about we nerf this before whole survivor base is uninstalling the game?
This is worse, much much worse then gen kick meta.

Hello there.
Can anybody pretty please update my lack of knowledge?
What did i miss? Aren't those perks already Meta?
Or do they get buffed even more very soon? If so: LMFAO....actually not funny at all 😡!
A very annoying (and almost unwinnable for survivors) build is
- Corrupt
- Dead Mans
- Grim Embrace
- Pain Res
OR
- Dead Mans
- Ultimate
- Grim
- Pain Res
And no, please dont argue and just trust me - this is insanly powerful with every killer, not only the high mobility ones. Try it out and win every game. I am ashamed but i admit it, i used those builds a couple of games and you simply win, super easy 3 gens up.
EDIT:
Wait a second... WHAT?
Are you kidding me?
This is not going live without nerfing UW + Dead Mans Switch + Pain Res, right?
This has to be an out of season april fools joke. If this goes live, its time for another 2 years break.

If your feelings are getting hurt over a video game you play online, I don't know what to tell you. I'm going to play how I want and if anyone's feelings get hurt, I couldn't care less. I play both sides and when I get tunneled out, yeah, I get annoyed but I move on. I don't demand someone play a certain way so my feelings don't get hurt. It's just a video game and that person is a stranger. They don't know you. It's not personal, it's Dead by Daylight.
"If your feelings are getting hurt over a video game you play online, I don't know what to tell you."
"I could not care less"
11 words later
"I get annoyed"
So it do bothers you?
On topic to that: What it the issue that you invest emotions into a video game? Are we in 1975 again or what? "Oh its just a game, you dont have to care, its not real life". Just because its a random person on the internet does not mean this wont leave marks on some people. Yea that guy in the traffic who yelled at my wife the other day was also only a "stranger" but it is still fair to say that she has every right to be upset.
YOU ARE taking responsiblity, also in a video game. These are your actions and since you are well aware that some (or many) people do get upset by that, it is your choice if you CARE or you DONT. In other words, the internet makes you annoymous, but your actions still count. Also in a video game.

Not tunneling, or not tunneling earlier.
If a killer 2K without tunneling, they could 3-4K if decide to tunneling. If a killer 2K after start tunneling at 1-2 Gen, they could 3-4K if decide to tunneling earlier. Its pretty much only killers decide not to tunnel, or tunnel earlier.
That is why I find its really stupid that some survivors tbag killers when killers being mercy.
Survivors Tbaging a killer who played fair and friendly is arguably worse then a tunneling killer itself.

You can't moonwalk to guarantee a down, survivors can actually do something.
Survivors have so much they can do but no one does it because they don't fully understand how her power works
- Standing still/crouch walking for literally ~0.3s waiting for the scan lines to pass
- Avoiding drones outside of chase to make your chases longer and less 2 tappable
- Standing still/crouchwalking to force an M1 for more distance while healthy
- Standing under a drone for 0.3s to make it raise and remove its scan lines
- Pathing back into the drone so she's forced to walk under it and raise it
- Using vaults (which are her best counter similar to bubba, the main reason I run bam almost every game)
- Camping pallets
- Forcing pallet 50/50s similar to other predrop killers like clown and bubba
- Chaining loops with walls
- Keeping track of where she's been to run to non-droned locations
- Predicting her movement speed bonuses looking at the UI and seeing whos claw trapped
- Disabling drones to frequently ran locations
- NOT disabling certain drones so they become more predictable with visable scan lines
- Taking hits
- W keying
- Predicting laser tags/scan techs
- Running up to badly placed drones where the scan lines move slower
- Using main buildings
- Using map specific tiles/structures that have an absurd amount of LOS blockers that I would not be able to list all of (yamaoka gyms as example)
- Exhaustion perks extend chases massively (overcome my beloved)
Don't get me wrong, she isn't perfect, but I wouldn't say badly designed either.
Also if you saw and knew what SM is capable of then you would probably agree she has a borderline infinite skill ceiling. You can scan through almost every hole that slinger can shoot through so there's always a way to improve your scanning efficiency. You probably just think her ceiling is low because of how low her skill floor is, and that there is VERY few actual good SM players.
Standing still 0,3 SECONDS mid chase (its rather 0,5 seconds), in a game where 100ms ping is close to unplayable? That is not counterplay, that is giving a free hit.

"The power role" has become synonymous with "i'm entitled and supposed to win most of the time because i want to". No, i don't think that 80% of the participants of a match should just expect to lose because "well this is Dbd you're supposed to lose it's a dying-simulator" - no it's not, never has been and never will. Killer is expected to be the harder role, for the tough people who can handle the pressure, anything else doesn't make sense if you want this game to live. I play killer exclusively nowadays (came back after 6 months break) because it has become a walk in the park and is actually more chill than survivor if you're not playing in an experienced 4man on comms.
Dont get me wrong. I agree with you on every word you say, and i think it absolutly should not be the way it is right now, but these are new players and they might be a little bit confused or upset why they always loose, even against other biginner killers. So i think it is a good idea to prepare them for very one-sided matches.
