Except it's a kliler's job to kill. If they were the same speed as survivors the survivor could just run in a straight line forever and never get caught, specially in maps like the hospital and school. A survivor demanding the game gives him a win because he was the first one to die (because he sucks) is ridiculous and not comparable at all.

And btw, Nurse has the same speed.

Except it's a survivors job to escape. And a killer demanding the game gives him a win because he can't catch people at the same speed (because he sucks) is ridiculous...

See how it's still the same argument the only difference is that you main killer instead of survivor. And if what you said is true either every nurse match would end with survivors running in strait lines all match on maps like hospital which spoiler alert it doesn't.

Don't forget with killer abilities they can catch survivors without the easy ability to outrun them. Which is why I laugh a little when killer mainsbsay just don't get caught. If you are up against a killer of similar skill you will 100 get caught because the killer is faster and gets faster as the chase goes on. There's nothing wrong with this it's part of thengame, but it does make arguments along the lines of Don't ever get caughtvincredibly stupid

Hide, win the chase, not get caught? You want points for staying afk on the hook?

Survivors are so entitled they just wanna stay afk doing nothing and still be given a win, it's hilarious.

I mean by the same way you could argue killers should be the same speed as survivors so they don't get easy hits in chasrd and any killer who says they need to be faster instead of outsmarting or outmaneuvering survivors is just entitled cause they want easy points

In situations when gens are done a bit too fast its optimal to camp someone out of the game. A 3v1 will always be better odds for the killer than a 4v1, if you don't choose to camp or tunnel that's great for you but it is necessary at times.

By that argument isn't it always optimal to camp?

I mean if survivors are doing gens fast and camping stops them quickly then camping would also stop survivors when they are slow on gens.

Unless you have some argument where slow survivors are somehow immune to the effects of camping in a way fast ones are not

ah I see well idk. But I guess that's the way it is. BHVR wants to keep it seperate. Money, experience, success in games separate

Sorry but success in games? the shards are based virtually entirely on playtime not how well you do

They signed a contract wit people to let them use these movie characters, and they in turn want hard cash for allowing DBD to use these characters. And the only way they getting hard cash is with the cells.

If you can pay for these characters with shards that turn into cells. That's not real money.

OK I think you misunderstood me in not trying to trade irridecent shards to gold cells I'm trying to trade cells for shards.

  • @twocansofbean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244983/irridecent-shards

is there a reason? yep, Since the "gold" or auric cells cost money. It helps keep the way to buy Licensed and DHVR made characters seperated. Licensed like Scream, Freddy kuger, micheal myers, The saw lady pig

I'm not following you here, some characters must be bought sure, but every character that can be bought with irridecent shards can also be bought with money so how does it keep them separate to not alow the purchase of shards.

Unless I missed something is there anything that can only be bought with shards?

  • I don't think argument for removing or lessening keys from chests make sense to me.

If the devs think the keys are unfair/unbalanced/terrible item then they should fix the item not just lessen its appearance

On the other hand if they don't think the keys are unfair etc then why would they lessen them atal.

I'm not weighing in on keys fairness I'm just saying the argument should be either fix keys or remove them altogether not just lower their appearance in chests

Wouldn't you get tired of doing that? This is a game, and like most games, is meant to be fun. Fun is NOT doing the something every time just to win. Plus, it is lazy game play. A 6 year old child can hook and then sit in front of the hook waiting for others to come. If you have that childlike "win or I will take my ball and go home" type mentality then good on ya. But hey whatever gets you off that's cool with me because I win a large majority of the games where Bubba's do this.

I would very much get bored of it but it seems that the majority your running into don't. You seem to think I'm wrong and I'm not an expect on Bubba so I could very well be. if you don't think they do it for the easy win why do you think they do it?

  • @sesawyer3127 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244973/bubba-and-face-camping

I think Bubba's, more than any other killer, face camp and I still to this day have yet to find one player give me a reason as to why?? I have only been playing for a few months but I play a few hours every night and can say with no exaggeration that Bubba's are always the one's who face camp consistently from the start. I see trickster do it but most of them camp at the end game which is understandable. But Bubba's do it from the get up and if your on the hook it sucks. The only thing you can do is struggle for as long as you can and take up so much of the killers time that the other survivors are almost out the gate before he can get to the 2nd survivor. Maybe,,,, just maybe when this happens on a wide enough scale the 6 year children who play these types of Bubba's will get the hint and play the game straight up.

They do it because it's s great way to win. If you come for the save your going down and if not it becomes a 3 v1 instead of a 4 v1. Only penalty is the points off for the emblem so Why wouldn't you camp?

  • Yah but unfortunately unless the devs choose to address camping in a way that doesn't alow for easy wins itsngonna keep happening.

See this is the problem with your post/argument. Its biased.

" Seems like another way to say it is necessary to camp if the survivors have progressed to a certain point, or they are doing good. I'm really curious now as to why those same people who say that seem so uncomfortable admitting that they find camping necessary."

You are already under the presumption that camping is some magical instant-win button when it simply isn't. You're clearly refusing to acknowledge that camping is situational and just want to slander everyone who picks option 1 as a villain.

You can't label the option called "Necessary" as "Necessary in all situations, useful in all situations, or useful in some situations" and the other option, "Useless" as simply "Completely pointless in all situations." That's not offering 2 equal and opposite choices to a yes/no question, you're conflating many different viewpoints into one option and assigning only one to the other.

If you're not going to label the choices as they are then you might as well name them red choice and blue choice.

Make a third option next time.

You should check out my earlier post explaining why there are two options. The goal wasn't to find out how many pick option 1, it was to see if anyone picked 2. To see if anyone actually believed that there are no situations where camping is good. Seems there are quite a bit which surprised me.

Personally it does seem weird that so many people would say camping never works, if it didn't I doubt killers would use it as much as they do

  • Funny thing about a number of those saying it depends I've noticed.

The comment seems to go along the lines of there are situations depending on what the survivors do that killers have to camp.

Seems like another way to say it is necessary to camp if the survivors have progressed to a certain point, or they are doing good.

I'm really curious now as to why those same people who say that seem so uncomfortable admitting that they find camping neccesary

  • @yobuddd said:

Some people play to camp. Some people never camp. And then there’s the majority who say “it depends”. In other words, it’s situational. Forcing a firm commitment to “yes” or “no” doesn’t give a clear picture.

Is NOED overpowered or a wasted perk slot? Depends on if the survivors do bones or ever finish all 5 gens.

Is Calm Spirit useful or useless? Depend on if you play against Doctor or not.

Is farming a waste of time? Depends on if you need bloodpoints?

Is camping a way of winning or a way of losing? Yes. Both. Depends on whether survivors feed the camper or not. Depends on if it’s late in the match and the only way to secure a kill. Depends on if the survivors were toxic or normal. It......it depends.

The yes or no was designed to find out if there are killers out there who actually belive camping is a useless strategy that never works.

The question was designed so that only that extreme viewpoint would be selected if they went for option two.

I had a number of killers Mains swearing that any camping was a useless by a killer and effectively a guaranteed loss. This was an excuse that they used to try and avoid addressing camping as an issue essentially their claim was that since it's so bad no killer would use it ever so who cares. Although I expected a couple killers to agree the poll is currently close to 50 50 which surprised me.

if you think that camping is situational then you belong in category one I'm not sure why people seem to want to say that it depends without selecting this option as though it would somehow make them less good or something

"If on the otherhand you think camping is a one way ticket to loosing, that it is a poor strategy then you are in the useless category."

    Because I also believe that.

You've made 4 posts on this already and have, hopefully, gotten the point that people don't like to be forced to pick an option that doesn't accurately reflect their opinions.

Make a 3rd option next time, you'll get a better result.

That's OK if you think using it in certain circumstances is a complete loss, as long as you think it's a complete win in some circumstances then your in category one. See the "if on the otherhand" part you quoted that's why it's there

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2122987#Comment_2122987

If a bad player uses it against bad players, they'll win, making it a good strategy.

If a good player uses it against bad players, they'll win, making it a good strategy.

If a bad player uses it against good players, they'll lose, making it a bad strategy.

If a good player uses it against good players, they'll lose, making it a bad strategy.

Seems like a 50/50 split to me, using a logical analysis of the basic scenario's. It really wouldn't be difficult to add in a 3rd option.

Hey look you said it is a great strategy in certain circumstances...... hey look at the poll it's says quite clearly that if you think camping is a great strategy in certain circumstances then you are in category 1.

    Let's try logic here then

    If (sometimes) then 1

    Sometimes

    Therefore 1

Why you had so much trouble with that I don't understand

  • @CornHub said:

You're trying to railroad people into either or option. This game isn't black & white, so both are true

  • @Pulsar said:

Both option can not be true. Of you think that you don't understand the language or you don't comprehend basic logic..

If you think camping is nessesary to win in one or more situations you are in category 1. If you don't think camping is ever a good stratbyou are in number 2. How are you having so much trouble with this, if English isn't your first language what do you speak I'll translate it if possible

  • @TripleSteal said:

Why do you only list very extreme answers? Both are wrong quite obviously.

Your definitely the first to go with camping is not a good way to win in any circumstance and not a terrible strategy at the same time. I suppose complete indifference to camping is a fair answer just not a very popular one

  • @landromat said:

It depends. If you hook person in the middle of your 3 gen or there is 2 people in the basement - hell yeah camping is good strategy

Then you are in the first category.

Why do you only list very extreme answers? Both are wrong quite obviously.

Because in the previous discussion I had a number of killers were trying to derail it by one of two ways. One was to say camping was a terrible strategy that only results in loosing so don't fix it. Others said it was the only way for killers to win so don't fix it.

Heh. If only I had that kind of power; your sarcasm is noted. I said you record and report. That is how you stop cheating. It also behooves us not to encourage, justify or try to normalize cheating. That encourages more cheating.

OK so I'm gonna walk you through this.

Telling the guy to just report it isn't helping solve his problem that he keeps running into players who help thenkiller. Similarly saying don't justify or normalize cheating while good advise in general doesn't really pertain to his issue.

Maybe this could be explained better with an analogy. Imagine you have a friend who comes to you and says to your group of friends that everythime he walks home no matter what rout he takes he gets mugged by random people and how he doesn't want to get mugged.

So another of your friend says to him stop walking around with hundred dollar bills sticking out of your hat. Another friend says buy a gun and a third friend recommends he drive.

Then you come in and complain that people are not representing themselves well by coming up with solutions because mugging is against the law and he should just report it and furthermore anything else that might solve his problem is just normalizing or justifying mugging. Can you see how that type of comment is both completely useless in preventing yoh friend getting mugged and alzo derailing a discussion about how he may actually prevent mugging?

  • Check out my first post in this thread.

Although if you have a better one shout it out the goal is to try and help the guy out.

Unless you also think telling him it's already against the rules is good enough then don't bother we've already got one useless guy here

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2107860#Comment_2107860

Again, you are trying to justify cheating; it reflects badly on you. It doesn't matter how subpar your teammates are nor does it matter if you think they are "toxic." There is NO ACCEPTABLE REASON WHATSOEVER for any Survivor working with the Killer. The solution is NOT to do it.

Oh so the solution to his problem was to simply not have other players do it...oh man I feel so silly I mean all that has to happen was for people to not break the rules.

Guess what vervain your problem has been solved. You will never run into the problem again because moindshroud has pointed out its against the rules...

In other news all murders have stopped as murder is against the law, and assault is a thing of the past too...

oh wait no that doesn't work I forgot because simply having something illegal does automatically stop people from doing it...I sure hope that doesn't happen here right moundshroud otherwise your solution of just pointing out itsnagainst the rules would have been a giant waste of time ...

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2107835#Comment_2107835

Working with the Killer for any reason is against the rules and an offense that can/will get you banned if it is recorded and properly reported. Your question to the OP is irrelevant and suspect, because it seems to infer you think there are justifiable reasons when this behavior is acceptable. It is not; it is cheating. You are not representing yourself well here.

I've seen it happen, there are matches when I'm playing a killer and a survivor will run up and wave then when I chase them the lead me to someone whose sitting in a corner near a gen that was done earlier. It's not hard to figure out why they lead me to them.

I've also been a survivor whose seen plenty of time where a fellow unhelpful/toxic player had the killer lead to them. Although I can't say I feel bad for the bad player that was being toxic got the killer sent after them its better for the team just to ignore them because now two survivors aren't helping.

My question was relevant because if his play is resulting in his fellow survivors constantly helping the killer and he doesn't want to play with survivors who rat him out then it seems like there is a solution to his problem other than quitting the game.

Sorry if looking for a solution isn't representing myself well, I suppose showing up and getting mad like you did is much more useful to him and a better representation of a good poster on this forum then?

  • I read somewhere a recommendation that keys should take a couple seconds to open the hatch I think that's s good start

Hi, I joined the forum to express my frustration with the amount of survivors I’ve witnessed working with killers lately. It’s really put me off to the point that I’m no longer interested in the game. Just thought I’d offer some (hopefully) constructive feedback. Best of luck, all.

I've seen survivors help the killer more often when they want the killer to kill a fellow survivor who is either refusing to help and/or being toxic...is it possible your running into them helping the killer so often because your being a bad teammate?

  • @kyogul said:

I think the explanations as to why Dead Hard is such a busted and unfair perk is pretty simply explained, but yet you have some people who don't quite get it and think it's just simple to "bait it out" when that only works on bad players.

The problem with Dead Hard is that it's a ctrl+z command for survivors in an exhaustion perk, and is the only exhaustion perk that is all reward, no risk, and has exploitable i-frames. If you get outplayed at a chase by a killer, all you do as a survivor is press E to deny an instance where you would otherwise get downed and extend a chase for longer than it should have been because you got rewarded for being injured and received a quasi-third health state. In many instances where Dead Hard prevents you from being downed can be swapped with having Endurance from Mettle of Man. And you did nothing of substance or effort to get said Endurance effect either.

Why saying "JuST BaIt oUT DeAd HaRd" is ignorant:

Dead Hard for distance can't be baited out. You can't make someone use Dead Hard, let alone does baiting matter when there's a pallet or a window right in front of them. Baiting only works on ######### players.

    Exploiting of i-frames:

You can Dead Hard to prevent from getting hit by exploiting its i-frames. Examples: Dead Harding through/into Punishment of the Damned (POTD). If you were to use Lithe or Sprint Burst and run into POTD, you'd get injured. If you used DH to get across POTD (or even to launch yourself in the same direction as it), you would prevent from getting hit.

Likewise, if I used Lithe or Sprint Burst and walked into a trap by Trapper or Hag, it would activate. If I Dead Hard over those traps, it would not activate. How is this not a busted perk?

Dead Hard is the only exhaustion perk that is all reward, no risk:

Every other exhaustion perk involves some sort of setup and/or exhaustion management. Dead Hard is available to you whenever you need it and you have no need to put effort into maintaining to get it.

Lithe involves setup. You can be in a dead zone where there is no vault near you, and even then there are times when you need to vault while being looped but fast vaulting in that specific instance would be a waste.

Balanced Landing is very hit or miss as there are many maps where there are not even elevated platforms. Even when you're in a chase you may not be near one, either.

    Head On is...Head On.

Sprint Burst is very much, objectively, the strongest exhaustion perk in the game in terms of effects, but not in actuality because of how you have to maintain it. It's the most tedious exhaustion perk in the game to maintain as it overrides the normal running function. You have to be in constant management of your exhaustion in order to properly have it available when you need it.

Dead Hard is the only perk that involves no setup, no risk, but all reward. You get injured and you get a free third health state on command with no effort to use on your part. Congratulations you can now outplay your opponent because you pressed E on your keyboard.

    Conclusion:

Dead Hard is so problematic because it's such a powerful perk and involves no effort on the survivor's part to use, and it feels cheap that when you outplay your opponent in a chase they instead outplay you not because of skill, but because they tapped a letter on their keyboard. Dead Hard can be compared to old DS in a way; anti-momentum, because many times it wastes so much of your time that you have to leave them alone.

    Also side note:

Also to the people who say Dead Hard isn't a strong perk because "eXhaUsTed oN thE GRoUnD" and whatever other non sense, then why is it arguably one of the most used exhaustion perks in the game, and more specifically the most used exhaustion perk in red ranks (or in other words, the highest rank in the game) ? Why is it always included in meta builds? Do you think people run DS/Unbreakable/Borrowed Time but put on a "#########" exhaustion perk, or an inferior one compared to something else stronger they can use for shites and giggles?

Isn't the set up for dead hard getting wounded?

  • Again more posts about some killers who says camping is the only way to win and some killers saying no camping is terrible and unwinnable as a strategy.

Personally I go with the its a good way to win because if it wasn't killers would stop doing it....

Anyway you camping killers why don't you start a new thread about how good camping is so we can get back to the purpose of this discussion, how the devs could stop camping effectively if they wanted to. To put that a different way, how they could shift the game in such a way that every killer agrees camping is not a good strategy and therefore stops doing it

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

As I said before we type again if you learn to read, which you proven again you can't.

Cause you only read what you want to read.

You are correct where i said that I love to get tunneled.

But that is only because that was what you wanted to read, if you read it fully om the start you would have seen what I said exactly before that.

But here's what I typed exactly for you.

"Yup tunneling and camping isn't fun for the person who is affected by it, tho i love getting tunnelled, but these are strategies and punishes over altruistic survivors"

There you go, you see that i said that it isn't fun for the person affected by it? 😉

Now move along to specsavers sluzzy.

    For your other post.

I wasn't there to test it, but i wouldn't be surprised if they haven't tried it.

But i can think of 1 problem with that.

They only have to lose sight of the survivor they chase which is pretty fast and easy to do, and they're not in a chase anymore which will stop the timer again.

Keep doing that and unhook as soon as the last gen pops and its gg game over.

And if you face a real hard facecamper, he would just abuse it by letting you run in front of his face and let the timer go down.

So there are definitely serious flaws about a hook timer being stopped and restarting while in chase.

Pretty sure there will be some others which I can't think of atm.

But these 2 are just from the top of my head (or however you want to call it).

Best thing to do against it is what I said earlier and that is just rush gens.

Sure it ain't fun for the hooked person but better then the killer get the 4k from just camping.

Been in the same situation and I always want the others to rush the gens and get out

I read your comments about loving getting tunneled to mean you loved getting tunneled. If your intention wasn't to try and say how great being tunneled was and how much you enjoyed it maybe don't put that in...

Anyway since your finnaly contributing to the purpose of the discussion I'm going to let it go.

But just to confirm your point about the chase, if I understand mechanic properly in order for a chase to end the survivor has to do more than break line of site momentarily, I believe it takes a few seconds to exit the chase, so I'm not quite sure how this could be abused by either side? I'm trying to picture a survivor that leads the killer to the hooked survivor while being chased which would not stop the hook timer (as they are in a chase) then stop the chase by breaking line of site for a few seconds and escaping, which would start the hook timer if the killer doesn't then leave the hook area.

But then what? If the killer leaves to restart the chase against the survivor then that's good no camping. If the killer stays to camp then the timer stops so that's good too.

I guess maybe if the survivor keeps leading the killer back to the hook then escaping somehow over and over there could be a second or two that it would take the killer to leave the hook raidus that could maybe be abused for a couple of chases before the survivor dies on hook? maybe put a second or two delay on the hook pause to alow the killer to leave the area before it kicks in? I think that would be a fine solution to the issue you raised. Assuming what I outlined was what you were talking about.

I guess you could be talking about survivors keeping the killer around the hooked survivor while not chasing anyone, but im sorry I'm having trouble seeing how a survivor could simultaneously keep the killer in a chase around the hooked survivor and not in a chase at the same time to stop the hook timer. If there's something I'm missing let me know

Opps quoted your post twice sorry.

I've seen a couple posts about how the attempt to pause hook timer when the killer nearby resulted in survivors running around the hook.

I asked before but why wouldn't restarting the timer if the killer is in a chase fix this? Any one else see a way for survivors to abuse it?

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239836/anti-tunneling-camping

    1. It aren't only killer mains who do it, it's also killers who play both sides who do it.

    2. Easy counter to camping, don't try the rescue just rush gens and get out.

If there are survivor within 16m of the hooked survivor and the camping killer, then the killer don't lose points.

If you just do gens the killer lose points and will definitely depip.

If you want to go for the rescue then do it after the gens and with BT.

    3. If you're a good looper then the killer will have a hard time when tunneling you.

If you're not then throw pallets earlier but don't run away immediately, run when he breaks the pallet.

Yup tunneling and camping isn't fun for the person who is affected by it, tho i love getting tunnelled, but these are strategies and punishes over altruistic survivors

You clearly missed the comment saying they've tried your suggestion before in a PTB where it was abused by survivors looping the killer near the hook so the timer paused while the other two pounded out gens. If you're not gonna contribute yourself and give other suggestions for people to consider they're gonna continue talking about things in the direction of conversation this thread has gone in.

And in all fairness you can't really discuss ways to discourage camping without also discussing why it happens, it's effectiveness or lack thereof, EGC vs. early game camping, strat vs. laziness, etc.

hey look the post I made just after talking about how to address that very issue. Weird how you missed it was just underneath. Clearly you can't read very well so I'm helping you out

See thay sounds like a big problem which would also be easily solved by simply not having it take effect while in a chase. Much like mending yourself only becomes necessary when not being chased. Easy fix. Also for the guy posting about it being in the rules with all caps because he was very serious. I was referring to how they want to discourage the practice not ban it. So I am spelling out a way that it can be done without the issues of ds because ds was made to limit camping and tunneling but it was bad because it didn't directly address the problem and was/is abused

My point was about how they could discourage camping and tunneling without causing extra problems if that's what they wanted to do. Which it seems to be because of perks like ds and the emblems sort of publishing the killer a little

Funny how you call me a camping killer despite you not knowing anything about me whatsoever.

Cause if you did, then we would have met before or you have watched some vids of me, but then you would know I play both sides and I don't camp when I play killer.

So cut salty attitude because you got camped by someone and go rage somewhere else maybe.

About something for the devs to implement about it?

They tried as many have already told you.

And as I told you, if someone is being camped then stay away and let the killer lose points and the game

You came into a discussion about how devs could effectively deal with camping and started posting about hiw camping is totally not a good strategy and actually it's fun to be camped when your the survivor in an attempt to derail the conversation like a camping killer who doesn't want camping to be taken away.

If you don't want me to call you a duck then don't dress up like one, walk around like one, and quack a bunch next time

    @gazzy_g said:

Unfortunately, until they implement some sort of gen repair speed nerf the higher your rank, tunneling is a viable and fair (for the killer) strategy for most killers.

A good number of killers don't have the mobility or the power against better survivors to down fast enough and keep people off gens enough to get a spread of hooks before the gates pop. You NEED to have someone taken out ASAP so you have a chance at actually stopping the genrush and balance things out. Unfortunate for that person being tunneled, but that's how the game is set up at the moment.

A fair killer should gauge by the first or second hook what sort of team they're up against. No gens have popped? Spread the hooks. Obvious new person moves? Spread the hooks. 2 gens popped by 1st hook? Sorry, someone needs tunneling out.

Spirit/Nurse/possibly Freddy no excuse for tunneling though really if you know your stuff.

Facecamping, except at EGC, isn't fair though... However if they do it just do gens for god's sake! Punish them or they'll keep doing it!

Can you camping killers make up your minds, is camping some easily avoidable thing that survivors can easily beat or something necessary for killers as the only way to win. It can't be both.

And then stop whatever you decide dont post jt here because this discussion isn't about that. Ots about how the devs can change the mechanics

All whining about "camp/tunnel" is a thing of inexperienced players. Moreover, thing of inexperienced survivor-only players who use those imagined unlogical statements.

L2P is the only advice I can give. Also you can try to play killer, especially if vs SWF.

Hilarious to see the foam from the mouth and the complainings after the match for those stuff even if the killer didn't do it.

When you left 3 gens nearby in the triangle to the killer and in the centre of it have a hooked survivor... Do you offer me to go to the edge of the map and just give you ez win?

Or maybe when you do the unsafety unhook saving just in a front of my eyes? Should I chase the saver or the injured man who will be on the next hook phase if I down him?

Really guy, are u seriously asking me to MAKE YOUR GAME EASIER and surrender?

Do you even understand what you ask about? There is so weird to discuss. I have no idea what to say.

Maybe you will come to the killer and make him a gift of your self-sacrifice in the start of the game? Why not?

Sounds like the players who invented the "camp/tunnel" blaming just escaped from the asylum.

    I'm done.

Man what is it with killer mains who like to camp having trouble reading what this discussion is about.

Apparently reading the first post is too hard for them and they must just be reading the title and jumping to conclusions. To clarify for them again this discussion is how how devs could remedy camping/tunneling if they wanted to. This is not about if the game allows camping or how to play against campers or if you shouldbjust give up when your camped. None of that.

This is about how they could change the mechanics in such a way that killers no longer choose to camp without giving giving survivors the ability to abuse the system.

I Even changed the post title so the camping killers out there can have an easier time following along. I wonder if there's a relation between how much a killer relys on camping compared to their ability to comprehend what they are reading

  • @youngjun said:

It is one of strategy. Just do gen.

What is a strategy? Are you talking about camping being a strategy because if you are the entire discussion here went over your head. Try reading the begging that may help

This is not a discussion on if camping is good or bad. This is a discussion on how the devs, if they want to target camping effectively, could go about it

If youre new then you won't know this, but you can't pip at red ranks through camping. In fact, against good survivors you'll only get 1 kill if you camp.

Yes... I know that you will get your emblems penalized as a killer if you camping, almost like the devs were trying to reduce camping or something... oh wait I see you quoted the part where I said the killer emblems penalize camping, so not sure why you think I didn't know about it.

Is that a thing, referring to someone's post then pretending they didn't just write it? Hey kenpachi you may not know this but killer emblems are being effected by camping...

I don't see the appeal, just seems stupid

  • @BSVben said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2078576#Comment_2078576

What makes you think the Devs have any intention to address camping?

Perks they have added which seem to be trying to penalize camping or rewarding killersbfor not camping. Killer emblems specifically penalizing camping. Someone above mentioned that they have been trying builds to address camping that survivors took advantage of.....a better question may be why did you think they weren't trying to address it?

  • Yah when you read it's part of the game what he's really saying is I like to camp so leave it alone.

Again to spell it out very slowly if the devs want to have camping theb fine. My point is about how to fix camping if they want to which it seems they do. They just ho about it poorly. And can someone walk me through how having the hook timer not go down didn't stop the camping if it was tried in the past?

  • @plzleavemealone said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239836/anti-tunneling-camping

For tunneling you still have DS its not because the dev remove the 1 minute invulnerability after each hook you need to ditch the perk.

Bt and cammaraderie are there for the camper the dev create perk to help the player in those situation just like killer who equip corrupt intervention because they dont like seeing 2 gen done in the first minute of the match

Yes ds was implemented to stop tunneling and camping....which was what I said. At first it seemed like you were just repeating what I said but then you seemed to end with since ds addresses tunneling there is already a perk to address it so don't change anything.

Unfortubatly ds (and any other perk created similar to it in the future) is a problem becuase people abused it, so the devs had to try and tweak it to stop thr abuse which. This has everyone complaining on both sides that it both stops the anit tunneling effectiveness , and was necessary to stop abuse (and although I didn't mention it earlier I've also seen plenty saying it doesn't go far enough)

Now follow closely here because this is the key point I was making. Rather than a perk that is related to the problem (ds is about getting picked up after a hook which is related to but is not the camping/tunneling problem) the devs should target the problem directly.

also against a decent camper borrowed time results in a chase where the killer follows and counts to 15 before swinging. Also doesn't work on stealth killers. Also really bad against any killer with an instant down who slug the rescuer and then count to 15

Fun Fact: This was tested awhile back on the PTB and survivors abused the hell out of it by looping the killer near the hook so the timer never went down and the other 2 survivors pounded gens. There you go :D

See thay sounds like a big problem which would also be easily solved by simply not having it take effect while in a chase. Much like mending yourself only becomes necessary when not being chased. • Am I the only one with this issue

  • You need 10 hooks and 4 sacrifices to get iridescent

  • I take it this is a feature then?
