Honestly i've stopped running bbq recently because everyone knows how to counter it, 80% of the time I hook someone there isn't a single survivor spotted (Hiding behind gens is also a good counter)

Increasingly more difficult skillchecks every other second, starting from about half the circle, would probably be a good solution to this.
It keeps it tense and interactive without being so incredibly obnoxious.
By the end of your bar, the most "difficult" skillcheck could be something close to a DS skillcheck. A bit more challenging but by no means too hard to hit.
I've lost hopes the devs will change struggle soon though. It's been requested since forever and they still haven't done anything about it at all. Probably because it doesn't make them any money.
Problem with that is it will instantly turn new players off, it takes time to get into the swing of the skill checks as a new player and it would likely drive away new players who die constantly on their first hook.
-
Yes please do, heal right under the hook instead so my nurses can pick you up :D
-
I can handle most survivors on most loops (there are still those survivors that seem to be able to read minds and never fall for any mind game)
But there are some loops that, especially as wraith, are more effort than they are worth giving a survivor either a 5 min chase or a free escape (as if they run that loop i usually just walk off)
That said I don't think delaying the start of gens would solve the issue, it's the three gens being worked on at once each with a toolkit that is the issue, if you commit to a chase on one, two gens will be done by the time you down and hook the survivor.
it needs to be something fun/rewarding for the survivors to do, not just some mindless task that is obviously designed to slow them down and nothing else. What that task is, I have no idea.

The level of delusion on this forum is always a wonder to behold

Slugging would be; leaving a survivor on the ground until they bleed out and ignoring them for the rest of the match. Anyone comes for a rescue. Hunt them down, drop them and walk away.
Then go find pallets, generators and look for the hatch. While they stay there until the bleed-out timer completes. If they get up. down them again and leave them until the Skull appears.
I mean hell, your not talking about just slugging, your talking about slugging someone and tunneling them so no one can get them back up and healed. At that point you should have already lost the game as the other survivors should have done all gens.
-
Well, that sure was a fun read, top quality troll posting/
-
Ok. Let me just clear something up because I'm not 100%.
When you say slugging, do you mean slugging a player when everyone else is dead/hooked and just leaving them on the floor till they bleed out?
-
It's funny because from a killer perspective the spawn games are always on the opposite corners of the map, as survivor they are always in spitting distance.
Also i've pretty much stopped running BBQ because past rank 10 i rarely spot anyone because everyone knows to hide behind a gen or in a locker.
as for slugging and leaving you on the floor at the end, never actually seen it, but i guess it's kinda like the survivors standing at the exit gate until the killer either turns up or the EGC is almost 0. Some people just love to waste time.
-
Yeah, it's actually pretty insane that it's brown. But then a lot of addon rarities make little sense.
-
It's the brown "the ghost" addon
The Khugwemuu symbol, representing the spirit world, is finger-drawn out of soot on the body of the Bell.
- After uncloaking, The Wraith's Terror Radius and Red Stain will remain suppressed for 6 seconds'.
Also i run Whispers, Nurses Calling, Franklins or bbq, and pop goes the weasel which seems to work ok at my rank
-
i mean yeah, there is clearly some issues, but to say it's "Unplayable" is just crap. at rank 8-10 on killer and rarely get a swf and when i do it's 2 friends. And the average game for me is a 2k, it's rare as hell to get a 4k unless they ######### up or I'm just on the ball, and every so often i ######### up and they get 4 escape.
So it seem at least at my rank, most solo surivors have decent games.
-
Yeah i think the rank reset seems to ######### both sides over. All but one game yesterday as killer i got groups of 2-4 swf who were clearly much higher skilled. out of about 15 matches i got a single game that a) lastest more than 10 mins and b) i got more than one kill.
In one game they had done a gen before whispers even actived (4 people, 4 toolboxes).
and the worst part is the toxic ######### they say after the match,I mean didn't you just prove you were better by winning the match so utterly, i don't understand the need to spam chat with abuse :/
-
Oh, that is a point. I will sometimes tunnel the guy with a powerful flashlight, after all it fuckes wraith up too much to be left alone.
-
I've only dodged a handful of times, but i've started the dodge any lobby that has more than one surv called "Hex: [something]" as they always seem to be the most toxic people.
-
that sounds like a perfect solution to me, that way hook perks still trigger and the killer has to actually hook/mori them (at least once)
-
I guess i best just avoid playing dbd for a week after reset then, till it evens out again.
-
Also, if you excessivly t-bag. Expect to get camped because it's funny as ######### to watch the rage afterwards
-
Wraith,
Huntress
-
I mean, facecamp is a little extreme but if he knew the other surv would come for you (which as you pointed out he did), it makes sense to stay nearby rather than wander aimlessly around the map.
Also you say he tunneled you, not sure how he could do that as there was only a single other surv to choose from and I'm going to guess you were hurt and he wasn't, that is not tunneling.
-
coal tower
-
Had this happen to me on PC as well, although only once.
-
Just to hook onto this, what do people actually think of hawkins? I've always found that one to be a pain in the ass for both sides, and yesterday i had either a bug or something new where every single large door was squealing constantly.
Also, there seems to be a distinct lack of vaults on the lower floor which i found really odd.
-
I find franklins really useful, i just remember where the item dropped and sometimes loop back and catch them trying to pick it up (Even in a chase).
It's also amusing when you hit someone as they drop a pallet and they turn around as you break it trying to flashlight you because they didn't notice it dropped :D
-
Yeah, playing wraith was 100% a toolbox, must have bugged then. Thanks guys

@DerFan said:
the better way is always to down the hooked guy and then down the rescuer.
this gives the survivors some kind of fair play (you dont hook him again) and also gives you more time cause 1 is down, 1 has to come for the pick up and one is in chase. if your good, you down the recuer before the pick up and you will be in a very good position with alot of pressure.
u wrote, that u were standing around the corner... so you camped. if they just push gens, you would lose the game by that. just saying.
Sorry i think you misunderstood what i meant there. I had moved across the map and kicked a gen (yeah, i run pgtw...) and then continued on my gen patrol and spotted them healing with nurses. What i mean by "around the corner" is that i moved upto them out of line of sight and then destealthed as i moved around the corner (so that they get no warning i'm coming) using the speed burst and attacked.
I never camp a hook because it's a quick way to lose the match. Tho i do get called a camper because the person i chase runs to the hook, but that is another story.
-
It's always entertaining reading these threads and seeing the bullshit survivor and killer mains post, depending on who is posting the game is 100% 4ks or 100% full escapes, there is no middle ground.
It's no wonder the devs ignore the forums when it's full of such diverse bullshit
-
Only had that happen once, and i must fully admit i just dc'ed. I was a rank ######### 16 vs rank 4/5 and they pulling that #########, i was so done haha.
-
Actually i imagine the windows store version is quite popular as it's now free to play with the xbox game pass.
-
I must admit having just started playing him even using the bone clapper and coming up out of LOS to gen, when i de-stealth round the corner the survivors have already run off like they know i'm near them, and yet others stay on their gens.
I realised after a while i was the footsteps they could hear, making playing him as a stealth killer a real challenge.
-
I've started playing him recently at rank 8-9 and the vast majority of players always seem to hear me.
-
swf groups (2-4) with 3-4 toolboxes. I just don't know how to deal with the speed gens pop
-
I have no idea why there even is a post game chat, seems kinda pointless as I've only ever seen it used to complain or abuse
-
Also, the number of surv that will sprint to a hook from across the map. I always try and move away from the hook and go back to gen looping, but if i cross a fresh set of scratch marks you damn right i'm going to follow it even if it goes towards the hook. Tho i also try and aim for the farmer rather then the rescued.
-
Yeah, if you have two survivors on the hook and the hatch nearby and there is only one guy left. you KNOW he is going to go for the hooks, there is no other objective for you on the map. It's not "camping" at that point imo.
I go out of my way to walk away from hooks usually to find someone else not just because it's a crappy thing to do to the survivor, but because it makes the most sense tactically to keep pressure on the gens. But i'm not about to intentianlly lose the match to avoid "camping"
-
Ah of course. I forgot the gates don't activate till after the hatch is closed. I've always instantly closed it (when i can actually find the damn thing).
-
Wait i'm a little confused, if the killer is sitting on the open hatch camping. Why not open a door?
-
Honestly. i've been running franklins because every team now has 2-3 toolboxes, I assume for the event.
-
@justarandy said:
I mean it worked. Tea bagging is some kind if tactic to tilt you (tilt = more mistakes) and/or to get your full attention. And you chased her for 4 gens in total.
I do that by myself. Call me toxic or whatever, but it's the only chance for my team to survive. I usually get full potatoes which get downed within 30 seconds of the game by a wraith, so I HAVE to get chased for several minutes.
Dosn't always work. The number of times someone has stood 10 feet from me t-bagging and clicking flashlights and my first thought it "What do they want to distract me from" and a quick glance round shows someone crouch next to me in a corner. and a number of times i've checked the nearest cab and found someone inside. If they had just kept running i would never have found their team mate.

This is exactly why people hate Spirit. No warning whether she's standing still or vaulting a window.
I mean not to be a dick or anything, but this thread is litrally about how you can get a warning if she is vaulting or not. :/
-
Yeah i can support the option to bleed out faster, i mean you can suicide on a hook, why not on the floor
-
My signature move it hitting a god like hatchet throw across the map at a surviror followed by missing three of the easiest hatchet hits in the world against a basically afk survivor and turning around and walking away in shame.
-
I don't run ruin on my killer because i don't have it, but i've played against it hundreds of times and it has never been more than a mild annoyance. Maybe it changes at higher ranks but i seriously doubt that.
I mean you could even run Detective's Hunch if you really need the help finding them
-
What gets me is the need, almost like a compulsion of survivors to wait at the exit gate and t-bag and flashlight click no matter how the game as gone, it's the same as those who will wait until you spot them at the hatch before jumping in, I'll never understand the need to waste your own time like that.
I've taken to standing near the exit gate and going "afk" the number of survivors who come back out to run around you is insane and every so often one of them ######### up and i get an extra kill.
also nothing better than having that survivor vault and start t-bagging forgetting your a huntress :D
-
Yes please, it why i've not bothered to learn a second killer yet.
-
id say 50% of my games i get called a tunneler or camper even tho i do neither. I make a point of avoiding the hook unless another survivor i'm chasing runs me to it, it is happens to be near one of the final gens while i patrol them.
Hell i get called a camper for defending the last 3 gens rather than aimlessly chasing the teabagging, flashlight clicking moron in the distance, apparently killers are supposed to walk to the empty side of the map and afk until the final gen is done so the survivor can have their teabag party at the exit
-
I mean we don't need to even mention that last vid as its clearly a lag issue, however in the second vid the medium vault, you can see that the player model snaps back into another position after landing. Not sure if that's a lag issue or an animation issue but it's really obvious in the slow mo
-
I know it's because i'm new, but the one i REALLY hate is doctor. so much ######### going on that keeps you distracted, not a fun match when it's doctor
-
Thanks for the replies guys, I said earlier that I likely do mistake a 2-3 man SWF for a four man, but i certainly get some as they confirm it in chat after (Often the 4 man swf are far more polite and helpful actually)
I'm starting to learn a little, my friend just got me cannibal so i can get Barbecue & Chilli which i'm sure will help, although i also played a handful of games as him and actually really enjoy him.
As for camping, tunneling etc. I will go out of my way to avoid the hook after hooking someone unless the survivors are stupid/cocky enough to rush in, I've literally had survivors standing next to me as I hook who when i down them complain about hook camping.
I have on occasion actually camped tho, who I face a group of survivors who are clearly much better than me and they start to t-bag and such I usually camp the hook, 9 times out of 10 they will refuse to let it go and will turn a 4 man escape into a 3 kill just because they refuse to accept a single loss.
-
I mean.. i can't take this seriously. You really want someone to lose their job and livelyhood just because you can't play an event for a little bit?
######### happens.
