DBD has been playing safe with development since release 7 years ago. The gameplay loop is still the same and changes have not been monumental but rather smaller and incremental (like totems , endgame collapse etc).
So since I doubt that devs would dare risk it and add a major feature like a new game mode or something big, what would you wish that they add to the game without changing things too much ? What new feature could add more depth to dbd gameplay during the trial ? Maybe some random events that could give either side a chance and make both sides adapt to it ?
Post your ideas below.
Replace the generators with different types of objectives that each require some sort of item/cooperation to complete 5 of the many different objectives to open the exits. The objectifies and what the exits look like would be different per map. EX:2 buttons that require 2 different survivors to hold at the same time for 30 seconds to complete that objective, an exit being some sort of underground tunnel that is an exit
basically make survivor objectives more then hold M1 on the same copy paste generator model and exit gates to make each match feel different

So I have not recently played much dbd due to playing tcm instead and now I came back to play and used cake as reward killer instantly camped me and teammates didn't even try to save... Well it will be last time I use cake for a while. I use them once a week typically but now probably not in months. I still have about 3000 cakes from previous two anniversary.
Welcome back

I play killer because survivor is boring to me. Holding mouse 1 all game is not exiting

Ah yes. I, too, can't wait until yet more player agency is removed from Killers to appease Survivors!
Give it another two years, and Killers would be expected to get all 12 hooks; be unable to camp, tunnel, or slug at all; and they will be forced to let the 4th Survivor go. Because, as Survivors are fond of screaming at me: "Be happy with the 3K".
Funnily enough; Survivors are never expected to "Be happy with the 3E." THEY are expected to try to win. But Killers trying to win is 'sweaty' and 'toxic' and 'tryhard' and 'Why don't you just play to have fun instead of win?'. 🙃

Ok guys. I have played about 600 hours of dead by daylight. I want to discuss a common problem in this game...and ik before i even start i might receive some salt for this one. I absolutely love this game through its ups and downs. Ive been here through the rpd updates, through knight and skull merchant. Ive played a lot of survivor and killer alike and want it known i have no bias towards either side. Everyone needs to stop complaining about the other side. Everyone just play the game to win and have fun while doing it. And dont get me wrong, i understand the skull merchant 3 gen and getting plowed by a blight or nurse...and at the same time i understand facing bully squads and gen rushing teams. What im trying to say is that there is a counter to everything. This game is about a power struggle between killers and survivors. If u are playing survivor then its requires a lot of practice. Its hard because everyone feels like they are facing nothing but sweaty killers with bad solo qeueu teammates. However we must push on, be the one to save ur team or just keep trying. After u do this enough u will learn how to counter evil killers. Then be the bigger person and show ur teammates what they should be doing. Stop yelling at everyone for everything that happens wrong in ur match. Instead of complaining find a solution and be the change. Be the one to lead ur fellow survivors out of the fog. Ok...killers....no u shouldnt have to follow specific rules and u should just play to win. However do remember to attempt to let the survivors have some fun too. Personally i love a tight chase 10x more then downing all 4 survivors in the matter of minutes. Yes...survivors will use flashlights and will juke u but u cannot allow it to get under ur skin. Allow the matches to be competitive and fun. Please everyone...this games biggest problem is the community. We need to remember that it is a game with real people playing that have real feeling and emotions. Respect ur fellow gamers. And while speaking of it...i thought we were gamers.... I thought that meant we like a challenge. So if that killer tunnels u...make em fight for it. If the survivors bully u...dont let them live for it. But most important is to never give up and never give in. I know how it feels to either die instantly or watch all 4 survivors escape. Let it go, correct your strategy, learn some tricks, and when u enter your next trial give it your all. Show them who you are...whether ur a killer or survivor. Take my words into mind and make this community a nicer place to be.
Welp time to go run another meme build

I think many people call it "it's too weak" when its not designed to make you immune to camping. It's designet to prevent heavy face camps where the killer just stands there next to you and does nothing. If someone proxi above the basement, you shouldn't be just allowed to free out of jail card. At that point you could remove basement alltogether since it's like dungeon, dangerous place that is designed to favor Killers. If you get down near basement, it's on you anyway.
As I stated in one discussion about this already. This isint going to be much of a problem for anyone who isint bubba camping

What do you guys think about bodyblocking with BT after an unhook for both sides?
I've seen survivors using BT to defend the unhooker by preventing the killer from moving, and on the flip side I've also seen killers bodyblock survivors to wait out those 10 seconds in a funny back and forth scenario, especially at basement when survivor movement options are limited to the stairs.
Personally I'm for removing collision of survivors to the killer during the base-kit BT time to remove the awkwardness of a survivor and killer staring at each other, but I do see the viability of keeping collision with each other to mess up either side's playing field.
I think if they want to body block with bt then they want me to hook them again, so i grant their wish and hook them

I just wanted to put out a thank you to all the survivors who desperately want the killers attention. As a killer you are my mvp. Personally I love when a survivor wants my attention so bad that they keep following me, spam vaulting, etc. I just ignore them as, I'll be honest, about 70% of them are good loopers and time wasters. However by ignoring them they're actively being a detriment to their team and it makes the games usually a clean sweep. Does anyone else find this as hilarious as I do?

Ever since Garden of Joy came out, all of the maps that have been released or reworked have been miserable.
Garden of Joy has an almost infinite in its main building. I also forgot to mention the pain car around the back.
Borgo in its current state is absurdly red.
Red Forest rework made this thing called "seing" impossible.
Rancid abbitor has so few pallets that it feels like they don't exist.
Toba Landing is so much color spam that it actually hurts to look at. Oh also wesker can't bound on the main building stairs, thats fun.
PTB Borgo feels like a 2017 map.
PTB macmillan maps are also terrible.
I'm sure theres more terrible maps that recently came out, but my brain already hurts from these.
Does BHVR even have a map balancing team anymore? Or do they just randomly add god pallets and delete others based on whim?
You forgot the game

I still don't see how it is "abusable" by swf? They want to prevent camping? So now camping is worse overall? You won't have any issues if you don't face camp, and if you proxy camp you're still out of range of the thing.
Yes a perk exists, so what? Is the perk only accessable to SWF or what is the point of that?
The effective range seems to be like 16-20 m or something like that at most? And as soon as the survivor runs in you can follow, since he is inside the radius and the progress stops anyway. Where exactly is the issue here?
The issue here is the same issue I addressed in the original argument, that if a survivor is within the 16 meter radius then it shouldn’t progress the self unhook timer, all that does it make rushing the hooks more effective by forcing the killer to either let the survivors unhook or allow them to unhook themselves, a lose lose for killers
-
it will be fixed
(Give it like a year)

So you have 3 people doing nothing? While one person dies on hook? (The person dying on hook included) There is apparently a certain range at which the unhook meter does progress, but so slow that you won't get the unhook before reaching 2nd stage anyway, at this range you can basically proxy it, if survivors are close to the hook the progress stops anyway. So tell me again how this is a problem? Because this just looks like a free win for the killer and the whole team not understanding the mechanic properly, you included.
If the killers far enough away they can just unhook
and as soon as they get unhooked the team goes back to doing gens while 1 person gets chased
also reassurance exists

How exactly would you be able to abuse this? Gimme an example.
2 teammates rush the hook forcing the killer to stay near resulting in a forced self unhook. Repeated until only 1 survivor is left
the last teammate would be Jen jockeying the whole game

Agreed. Billy will never return to his glory days. He was good because survivors in general were pretty bad at the game and for a long time didn't know how to play against him (and some ridiculous addons). Maps don't help either. The last "new" maps that were somewhat good for Billy were the Coldwinds. And they got worse than before their rework. Since then, every map they released was a kick in his face.
But of course this isn't enough. BHVR have to go out of their way and change the last few spots with generous collisions too. Remember the tables on Ormond? Well, you can now throw a hatchet over them but you can't curve them too well anymore. I tested it out and I kid you not, they added a hitbox about 2 metres above the ground that you bump on. The actual table doesn't have a hitbox. And this change happened somewhat recently.
GoJ, Eyrie, Borgo, RPD, Red Forest (god, I hate them), Toba Landing, Nostromo and Haddonfield are all terrible to play on with this killer. The most infuriating thing is that they said they changed some collisions on Eyrie in patch 7.2.1 to help killers with chainsaws. I tested it very thoroughly and from what I can tell, nothing actually changed for the better. You still bump on every twig.
Instead of looking at what makes Billy so terrible on most maps, they completely ignore the issue and add more maps with a bunch of clutter, a pallet count that basically deletes his chase power, loops that are impossible to curve due to their shapes and collisions and interconnecting windows. Apart from all the main buildings.
At this point the overheat doesn't make any difference anymore and I'm starting to think that Billy is a lost cause. No amount of buffs is going to restore his former power, when maps are the main reason he has fallen so low. Well, that and of course his worst nightmare. Survivors that know how to counter him with the press of a key (and it isn't E).
Ofc we have the famous trees that stop your sprint because the LEAVES have hit boxes

what made billy good was his addons ngl
False
what made billy good was the reward for leaning how to play him allowed for fun gameplay for both sides

question: does the survivor still get the self unhook progress if there is another survivor near the hook? Aka their team is rushing for a save, would it stop them from getting a self unhook just because im trying to stop them from rushing to save them? If it stops it then it shouldn’t be top much of a problem mechanic depending on the range (i could see range being an issue for gen guarding or multi floor maps). However if it dosent then i see a future of this mechanic being abused to ######### by SWF

I do it for fun. I've been playing forever, if I just played normally, I'd have lost interest. I don't ever just play a normal game unless a challenge is making me. I always have an alternate goal, I always bring or try something impractical. Now that flashlights are killswitched, I'm bringing Lightbourne just so survivors that notice will be like #########.
There are survivors that are oblivious. If I'm crushing a team for half the game, then I disappear completely or stop hooking at 8, I didn't get amnesia, I'm letting you out because I wanna. If they teabag at the end, they're showing how clueless they are. I don't care. If I had to prove something to them, I would have.
If you read my old posts, I wasn't a fan of friendliness among killers, felt it made the game boring. Then it was my own boredom that made me start doing goofier and goofier things. Convincing survivors you're not up to something is a huge challenge once you've beat on them a lot. Especially as Bubba. Now-I'm-Friendly Bubba is harder than Adept Bubba.
But it's not about fairness. There's nothing unfair about tunneling, keeping the team alive is the team's responsibility, not the killers. Someone should be taking aggro during an unhook, survivors forgot once they started using perks instead, now it's a lost art. Not the killer's job to ignore basics just because the survivors do. The person being unhooked SHOULD NOT be the one that blocks the killer, someone else should. Play like you want to win if you want to win.
I always play fair, I was raised by parents that had high standards, to cheat is to admit I had to cheat. I'd rather lose than play unfairly, because I was taught dignity is more important than any game. Needing or seeking an advantage is for weak people.
That being said, my habit of cycling people through hooks is a flex. It started because I wanted to force myself to pay more attention to which survivor is which, just something I wanted to improve on, who was on death hook, who had which perk, etc. Started going for 8 hooks before killing to learn to keep track, now I do it just to show that I can. Showing survivors I decided who and when, the survivors that get it will get it. I like the idea that it's over some player's heads. I've been eating a sandwich and it still took them this long, and now they're teabagging? Heh.
I play fairly because I would be ashamed not to. Everyone should play fair. Cheating to win doesn't make you smart, it means you know you're likely to lose otherwise.
But I'm sometimes nice because it's often fun. I don't get any joy out of showing new players I'm better than them, it would be sad if I weren't. I love to scare them, but it's often a lot of fun to later welcome them all, show them veteran killers remember how hard it was. Hook them, and then hook them up... with some points and an escape at a time when that might be rare for them.
It seems to make them super-happy, too. Often that makes me feel more powerful than a 4K against new players would. I never cared when mad survivors tried to hurt my feelings in after-chat, but when they shower me with thanks and talk about how amazing I am, turns out I like that pretty good.
People like me in real life, but nobody tells me I'm amazing.
Now this is the kind of player i need in my games

You will get tbagged at exit gates if you do that. You think Survivors care you played nice? Nope, eat that Mr Killer! Haha noob ezi match.
But then you don't play fair and you play Seriously and some Survivors just give up on hooks and cry in chat how cruel you are and how bad of a person you are.
Then what should you do then?

hes just not good in modern dbd. maps have crazy amounts of clutter, loops are tighter and have dumb hitboxes, and outside of extrememly specific and risky curves, anything less then a god level billy player will just have no chase power with inconsistent map mobility. Thats excluding overheat.
Just because it wont bring him back to his glory days doesn't mean we shouldnt remove it

Pinching the flashlight + the space bar at the cabinet allows us to pass through the cabinet, making ourselves absolutely invulnerable to most killers
flashlights have been disabled, but they can still be found in chests, which means! the more chests, the greater the chance to get flashlights and take advantage of the bug.
How in the hell does something like this just not get noticed by the devs xd
