The same reason the game is still unchanged with its millions of pallets, why garden of joy still has car loop house of pain and dark room, and why badham is still badham
-
They just need to fix through floor activation and completely stop the progress when a survivor is in the 16m radius. People are already abusing both

His power is very fun and well designed... in theory. In practice, there simply isn't enough time in a match to complete everything he needs to benefit. There's not enough time to be constantly tagging, tp'ing, and getting overclock value to consistently win. Add in EMPs and he is very very inconsistent. Not bad, but inconsistent.
Exact issue with another game I play, the role can change games very quickly, but in the squeal the games move way to fast and the role just lost all its power. The same applies here singularity like trapper needs set up time and emps are just way to oppressive with them being infinite. The real issue with trapping killers nowadays is just how quick games go by, maybe back when the game was new and survivors tried to be stealthy they were viable, but they just aren’t anymore.
Now his power by default as some have mentioned before is actually pretty well designed and fun to use (usually)

Another "Camper Anonymous" post to cry about hard life of killer? Both hands for anti-tunneling mechanic. Maybe majority of killer-players start to play the game and not weep "omg, i was doing 4K everytime by just standing near hook, now I'm at high MMR and its haaaaaaaaaaardddddd"
Place your bets people who’s gonna come out on top of this showdown of the century?

I just played in trio today, we were matched with 200 hours player, then with comp player with 8k hours, then with 2k hours player (our level), then with literally baby with level 1 perks from console. Same with killers we went against.
I'll say it again: I don't think MMR exists in this game at all. And if it does exist, then it absolutely can be recorded in the world's records book as absolutely the worst that has ever been in any game. No jokes.

There are worse things SWF can do and still doesn't work on basement.
i mean I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody say that SWF COULDNT abuse mechanics in this game, except maybe sluz

That's a perk, not base mechanic. It also doesn't work against basement.
Reassurance is basically Unbreakable level. Doesn't always work, but it's worth it when it does.
I don't really have issue with that perk.
I was talking about SWF abuse and through floor usage
-
Ok I’m done doing this one at a time, we can’t just keep giving soloQ little buffs one at a time, either give solo voice chat or remove SWF
Please can we just close the gap already I’m tired of every other thread being about SWF vs Solo

Basement is completely useless because of this for example, which is kinda big deal. You can't hook more than one survivor there, you can't defend it either.
Midwitch is going to be hell too.
This system basically remove a lot of snowball potencial for most killers. Even when survivors screw it and get downed next to hooked survivor, there is not much killer can do with it.
Only option killer is going to have is tunnel when this system triggers, because it removed a lot of pressure he had and tunnel is best way how to get it back.
Any survivor who used Deliverance knows how big deal this is.
Didn’t this exact same scenario happen in the project W chapter with reassurance 🤔
guess they didn’t learn their lesson

Why is there even a batlle pass in a paid game with paid characters and perks that you can either spend real money on or grind for hundreds of hours to earn them is my question

Curious Question among the playerbase, on what to do with nerfing Gen Speeds or create passive slowdown to the pace of the game.
I hear complaints that increase generator repair time is "lazy change and it make fixing Genators more boring then normal". I want to know what you do to make the game pace more engaging yet fair for killers to have a fair amount of time to have a change to win; if I am making any sense. If it was up to me, I could go for number of alternatives routes such as making survivors move slower then normal so that killer can end chase in less then 60 seconds instead of taking a long time waste. They could rework maps and have a fair balance of dead zones and pallets zones in between, to make chases easy. They could instead, gives Survivors more objectives stuff to do, such as finding specific Generators parts from across the map in order to complete a generator or find a special key to unlock the exit gate switch. There is a lot of ideas that can be done, so that killers don't necessarily need to camp and tunnel to win, and more incentives to chase more for a chance to win better and have more fun.
Survivors don't like camping and tunnelling, so does killers not liking Genrushing! There might be a way that makes it fair for both sides.
Play pig for passive slowdown before she gets nerfed 🗿

I think the all or nothing style or randomly spawning hexes is very unhealthy for the game
just the fact that they can outright take away an entire perk really isint a very good perk design, especially considering hexes nowadays aren’t very good exept for devour hope (in the majority of scenarios some can be good but only if u center a build around them or get really lucky)
I think turning them into weaker non hex versions of their current effects or for some of them making them scourge hooks (like devour hope for example) would make the perks much more consistent

Any perks in mind that you would like to be reworked or buffed?
Left behind could have a buff as its use nowadays is a lot worse than when it came out. The perk gets worse as people get better at the game because they no longer need it or get into a hatch position very often, it’s original use was to complete gens, I think an overall smallish speed buff to all actions could be better

I will never understand why people say "Killer" instead of Killer X, Y or Z. The differences between the 32 killers is far too big to just say "the killers".
+1
if I face 3 good players and one weak link as trapper and as nurse I will have significantly different games
-
80% of the perks in this game could use a buff
the other 20% are broken
welcome to dbd

The only real way I could see this working is if the killer got some sort of setup phase where the survivors hadn’t spawned yet. Otherwise ur not gonna have time because killer games are constant action (most of the time)

Is there really any scenario where this addon actually does anything? 30 seconds of Broken is basically nothing, especially when you need to hit them directly. It should be 60 seconds at least IMO.

Also while we're at it, can we make this addon apply on any Slipstream teleport and not just ones from Biopods?
Around 70% of this games addons are borderline useless

First of all, the intention of this post is to explore and gain insights into this phenomenon that I am interested in. I ask you to share your experiences and give constructive feedback. Please be respectful to everyone <3
So, as we all are aware, I'm sure, female survivors in DBD are not just more popular than male survivors, but much more popular. I know that this is not a phenomenon exclusive to DBD, it exists in many other games as well. However, with this post I would like to gain an understanding on why that is so in DBD specifically. Cosmetics play a big role in this, so I would like us to take them into consideration, as well.
As far as I can think, these are the reasons that people might be preferring either male or female survivors:
- who they can identify with, relate to, or connect with better
- who they find more attractive, and therefore want to see on the screen
- who has more interesting (beautiful, quirky, etc.) cosmetics available, as well as more cosmetics in the sense of quantity
- who has gameplay advantage - in this case it's the female survivors, due to them being shorter and therefore having better potential for stealth, evading the killer, and (flashlight) saves on their teammates
Based on my experience of watching streamers, as well as other people I'm acquainted with, it seems that a person's gender identity and romantic/sexual interests don't play a major role in this, since any group of people tends to play as female characters.
I am a gay guy, and prefer playing as male characters, because I can both relate to them better, and also prefer seeing them on the screen. However it seems that most gay men prefer playing as female characters. This is what confuses me.
I would like to ask you readers, to give your perspective and understandings on this, on why female characters are that more popular than male ones. Both female and male characters are awesome and deserve love and popularity. And in order for me to able to promote male characters more, and accentuate their value, I need to understand what is causing this disproportional pick rate.
Thank you for reading! I hope that we can have a really nice discussion on this.
Short answer: Testosterone

My thoughts are, that most people play what they think is either attractive to look at, or unique.
Nowadays there are still more male people playing I guess, and I can just imagine that more male people play female, than female people playing male characters.
On my side, I am female straight and I play Jeff because of attractiveness, or Jane because of uniqueness because she is the only Survivor being chubby, which sticks out to me, in a positive way of variety. (Which is in the eye of the beholder, of course - that's just my point of view).
Kate for example is a Surv which I don't like to look at on my screen, because she looks just plain and simple to me, like every girls face on Instagram :-P
Those are my Jane and Jeff. Haven't bought cosmetics for years, have to get a look on what's new ^^

I did consider the idea of a charge like thing myself to be fair, but I can't think of many instances where Jason ever "charged". There has been some debate about teleporting around the character from F13p8, but I consider that bad writing rather than being a cannon ability.
I did kinda borrow a little from Wesker myself with my suggestion, but the main mechanics I see Jason as focusing on DBD is:
- Grabs (he regular wrestles people into chokes, snaps necks, slams faces, machete hits, etc, etc.)
- Trial Interactables (Pallets, Lockers, Generators etc in the trial)
My main thought for Jason is being able to slam a pallet down on a survivor... sadly I don't think that's enough to build an entire power around :D
tbh that could be a special game mode where he can grasp and insta kill survivors at things like lockers and pallets with animations but there’s like 12 survivors

I don't really think they need to be adjusted further, but I was really only responding to your comment that "the least they could do" is make things less expensive because... they did do that. They did make things less expensive. It's pretty unfair to pretend they didn't because you'd prefer more of a reduction, y'know?
I would like to request we move on from this subject (I forfeit)

They did do that? They did both of those things. After removing the BP bonus from BBQ and WGLF, they adjusted bloodpoint caps in match, started offering more ways of earning bloodpoints via role queue incentives and other sources, and make things considerably cheaper within the bloodweb.
The Prestige changes also stopped the grind from getting exponentially worse with each new character. They did actually fix these problems.
i mostly meant stuff like killer and survivor add ons, they were adjusted but the majority of them are still expense especially considering some of them are very weak and some downright useless except for very specific situations (cough septic agent cough)
besides, we have more important things than BP and if we really want to talk about money spending we should talk about them having a battle pass in a paid game

BBQ&Chilli had the BP bonus removed, but that’s all I can think of off the top of my head. Funny how it was removed and no one complained about it prior to removal, it actually encouraged going for different survivors.
No idea why they removed it. Should have kept the bonus on it and on the survivor perk that had it. WGLF?
They wanted to remove incentives that made people use certain perks for only BP
but they least they could have done was give us more base kit BP or made things less expensive, the grind nowadays is worse than ever and it only gets worse with each new character added

The whole issue is this....solo survivor underpowered....SWF or higher level Survivors Killer underpowered. The mistake is that Behavior keeps giving Survivors more and taking away from Killers to help the solos, but the real issue is that it overbuffs the hell out of SWF and solid Survivor groups. They have to separate the two. SWF should give the Killer some benefit. Reduce the amount of hooks needed to 2, survivors can't have more than one tool in the group so one flashlight, one toolbox, etc. Hell even give Killers Shadowborn and Play with Your Food as the base build.
SWF and Solo are two totally different situations and you can't buff one without the other being ridiculously overpowered. When 2 or more players are SWF there needs to be a change in the game to balance it. When its solo que continue to seek balance by helping survivors.
easy solution: allow for killer to chose if they want to face SWF or not, if they turn it off SWF cannot get in their lobby

Watch them somehow make the main building even stronger, make the shack window connect into a maze tile and increase the number of bushes by 5000, while adding more pallets to the street.
A good start for a rework would be to call it the "Garden of Misery". Joy is the last thing I experience when I load in on that map.
After looking at garden of joy we have decided that it is best to do absolutely nothing and duplicate the map 5 times (badham moment)
