I'm going into my SIXTH year with the game.
It's rather upsetting, but I really can't play the game casually with my work schedule. I don't have six hours to devote to get a good match.
It's why I've been playing stuff like TCM or Lies of P.
Other games has been a big part of that too. My free time is becoming a bit more limited and I have a big ol backlog of games I'm going through as I have money now but less time :D
I also think you're onto something that getting a good match seems harder and harder. I find that most of my matches now involve someone getting stomped. Sometimes I am the stomper as I'm playing against (or with as a Solo Queue player) barely sentient potatoes or I am playing against (or with) God's Gift to Gaming Kind and the opponent puts up the fight of a dead hamster. While the "Win or Lose by the Skin of my Teeth" games do happen, they're the exception now rather than the rule.
I imagine I'll always play DBD in some form until it all goes belly up but there are so many damn good games out there to play and so little time...

That would be cool if DBD did some Halloween costumes. The only one I think I've ever seen (not personally, just online) is the DBD Ghostface mask (the red devil looking one).

I still play but my amount of play has significantly cut back
Part of that is due to...well...life but part of it is that the game is just not quite the same. I can't even really put my finger on why but my interest in the game lately has been dropping. Maybe the issues with the game are finally catching up to me or maybe after 3+ years of playing, it's bound to feel samey and repetitive eventually but my interest is slowly but surely dropping.

I was born with my achilles tendons too short. So for most of my childhood, I would walk/run up on my tiptoes. When I played soccer in Middle School, the kids were not very nice to child Tippy and called me Tippy (derogatory) as a way to make fun of me.
A few years later, my family moves and I'm starting in high school. I'm not 100% sure why he even started doing it but my stepbrother started calling me Tippy there. However, this time we took Tippy back and it became my nickname as a high schooler rather than a way to make fun of me. At some point online, I started adding the 2k2 just because it was always kind of hit or miss if "Tippy" by itself would be available. So now I add 2k2 to my name on everything rather than gamble on just Tippy being available.
Most of my friends now know/refer to me as Tippy rather than my actual name. I am also Uncle Tippy to my nieces and nephews.

I try my best not to tunnel but if it happens, it happens. I'm not going to throw the game just because I happen to find the same survivor three times in a row.

If something weird happens and I end up right on them again (like the person who unhooked them in my face then threw them under the bus by using a pallet or window or something), I'll just leave them alone.
I don't expect killers to do that but I've been a survivor thrown under the bus by my team way too many times so I get how much that sucks.

Bugs being bannable feels like it's always been wildly inconsistent
This seems like a situation where this bug would be bannable (you're never going to accidentally do this bug) but we can only guess as BHVR works in mysterious ways

I doubt it's AI as a template is very different than AI writing but I hope BHVR is listening to the feedback that the boring templates are...well...really boring.
It's not the biggest concern in the game but how hard can it be to write a paragraph for a mini story on a piece of clothing? They've done it plenty of times before so I don't know why they want to fix what isn't broken.

The plus side of having cats is that they have no real opportunity to nest or anything. They found two freaking mice, both of which I was able to extract with mild fuss.

I don't recall if I posted this (I don't think I did but maybe!) but a cat was hiding in my bushes a few times. I'm not sure if they've posted up in my bushes permanently but I started putting food and water out. They're way too friendly to be a stray. I tried to catch him today but I don't want to force the issue and spook them
With how they want pets, I think I could get them into Holly's crate and get them to the vet to scan for a chip

There is no game without the player base. So if the player base is filled with a bunch of Toxic Jerks, the Game is going to be viewed as toxic.
Now whether the game is nearly as toxic as some say is debatable...

I think I'd lean Nic just cause he's been in so many movies I loved and he seems kind of insane so I bet he'd be fun to hang with.
If we're REALLY stretching the definition of horror actor, I'd want to meet Keanu Reeves. He'd be my #1 with a bullet for actor/actress I want to meet.

The only lore accurate Michael that matters in dbd is the one from the first movie since that's the movie the dlc is based after.
I'd say for as strong as he is along with superhuman endurance, Michael is in the end still only human and wouldn't stand a chance against more powerful characters.
That would be a fair assessment if it were Halloween 1 Michael
He'd probably take out the Singularity and...that's about it from that list. I think he'd have a chance against Wesker the same way I'd have a chance in a fight against Mike Tyson; technically correct buuuut...

The problem with Lore Accurate Michael Myers is it depends on which lore you're talking about
He's an immortal unstoppable killing machine that you can put down but can never actually take out or just a really big dude with a knife and just about everything in-between.
Cause like...being immortal would make him really hard to kill. Being a big dude with a knife would make him relatively easy to kill.

The problem with that is it's not really a 4 v 1 game. It's a 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 V 1 game
and it's always going to be a problem in this game just by its very design but unfortunately, I have zero idea how you'd go about fixing it. If you make every killer be something one survivor can run for half the game, SWFs become so stupidly powerful that a killer might as well not even boot up the game but it would allow solo survivors to actually thrive and survive but if you make it where you HAVE to rely on your teammates to have a defense against something (like...say placing a flame turret in spots where it'll actually do something useful because you're too busy trying not to get stabbed in the butt by a razor sharp tail), SWFs become good but Solo Queue becomes a bit of a living hell.
With the newer killers, the game does seem to be focusing more on the 4 v 1 game rather than the 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 V 1 game and I think a lot of players don't like that because a lot of players are solo queue players (hence the complaints).

I usually will try my best at first but once it's clear that we're not going to have a chance, I'll sit on a gen and just not get off of it when the killer shows up. Grab me off or leave me alone, your call Killer

I've given it a few days and I very much want to stop going up against The Xenomorph at this point. The only way to combat Xeno's power are these flame turrets, which are super limited in number and downright useless in all but the most perfect circumstances for them.
It also doesn't help that the majority of Xeno players I'm going up against hook you, leave, then teleport themselves right back to you to tunnel the hell out of the wounded player. Granted that can be a problem with any killer but it's always an especially irksome problem against a killer that can leave the area and put pressure other places and be right back in your grill the second you get unhooked, no matter where they're at on the map.
Along with Nightcrawler Sadako or 3 Gen Merchant, this is one of the few killers that make me instantly just want to disconnect now as soon as I see them.
EDIT: Alright, I finally got video of it out in the open too because I was told in another thread that I just suck at placing them. YOU CAN'T PLACE THEM BY WALLS STUPID!!!!

So we can't put it around corners or anything cause it can't fire soon enough so put it out in the open but if you put it out in the open so the Xenomorph sees it, they can break it before it finishes the job. So I need to hide it super well but have nothing in the way while simultaneously hidden so that Xenomorph can't see it and destroy it?
I think the opinion I made in the first 24 hours was spot on. These turrets are virtually useless.

I still enjoy the game
I'm in a much much much better place mentally when I kind of felt addicted to the game and would play no matter how miserable it was making me. If I start having bad matches or not enjoying my time, I have no problems just switching to something else.
One day this might mean I'll turn DBD off and just never turn it back on again but at least for the time being, I still enjoy the game plenty enough to keep playing.

Confused the hell out of me when I was using Blast Mine earlier. I was able to figure that out but thought it was a really dumb change. Good to know that it's not a change, it's an oopsy and will be fixed...eventually 😅
