Truthfully the only advice I can offer is to keep playing. The more experience you have, naturally the better you'll be at something. While I can't offer many tips for Huntress (I play on console so she's particularly hard for me), I can tell you that Otzdarva on YouTube has a lot of good videos. He's a great killer player and even if you just watch his gameplay to look at things like pathing, mind games, etc. I think you'll pick up on some things. Watching him and playing various killers with various builds has helped me improve pretty dramatically from when I first started the game.

Good thing killers have powers and perks and add ons to deal with that. Game can't always be on easy mode for killer. No fun in that. The chase is the most fun part about dbd.
This is your argument for every issue anybody ever makes about anything related to playing killer.
Please go and actually play the role at high MMR before you try to act like bringing Brutal Strength is the solution here.

Survivors have no pressure in end game either, unless all 4 make it there. But if pallets are gone before all gens pop good luck making it out. The game from the killer's side can be turned around even if he had a bad early game. The opposite cannot be done because survivors can't undo their teammates' death. Killer always makes it to end game.
You're right. I don't disagree.

@Batusalen said:
Yeah, the killers are so overpowered and the game is so killer sided that tonight I spent 2 and a half hours to just play 3 games as survivor. It's so fun to not be able to catch or down anyone with 90% of the killers right now that people have just stop playing it, apparently.
I've been noticing this as well. I could probably play two full games of killer in the time it takes me to find one as survivor.
-
Ah, we've all been there.
One of if not my very first killer game, I chased a guy for five gens (because what did I know?), got teabagged at the exit gates, and then got the fattest "gg ez baby killer" of my life.
Hopefully bro goes through his 80s movie montage moment and gets to whoop them as Nurse some day.
-
@JustAnotherNewbie said:
If you don't do gens from the start you cannot even tie the game. Play survivor and tell me you can win against an average killer by prioritizing chests and totems and then doing gens. The time is gone when survivors could leisurely do all of those things because they had maps that allowed them to do so, that is no longer the case.
I think this is a bit of an over-exaggeration but you're not entirely wrong either. Early game is when killers have no pressure, so losing a gen early hurts.
That said, some killers seem to have negative pressure early on: Trapper, Pig and Clown. It's disheartening to get a first hit and then hear a gen pop on the other side of the map.
-
I think 25% would be a bit excessive, but I also think that raising to 10 wouldn't hurt... maybe 15, even.

Every map has a god pallet maybe break it... You really getting looped for 10 minutes?
It's the principle. The staircases are the perfect distance apart that you can get at least three loops in, more if you're facing a 4.4 killer, and then be totally safe still. Also, that map has at least 3 god pallets.
-
I don't like them for either side. I find them either incredibly boring or so chaotic that the game is annoying. Midwich is miserable as survivor, The Game is miserable for killer (pallet town), Lery's is imo miserable for both sides LOL

@[Deleted User] said:
I like Indoor maps. Alot of people In this forum are pretty killer sided they tend to not like Indoor maps for some reason. I think RPD Is actually one of the best visually and gameplay wise.
Yeah, the fact that a survivor can run around the main staircases for ten minutes and then drop the incredibly safe pallet is awesome!

I mean they could have started to walk since it helps with losing chase and you losing Bloodlust. Some survivors are just incredibly loud still.
And without video evidence it's always very difficult to know what happens. Like if they had Distortion and you have the perk that reveals aura's when they do rushed actions then it would make sense their scratchmarks disappeared cause that's what Distortion does on top of hiding auras.
There's also Dance with me, Parental Guidance, Lucky Break, Self-Preservation and Poised. All but Lucky Break are extremely niche and people forget about Distortion's secondary effect.
Idk if I'm missing any other perks with similar effects.
But it feels like a bug/glitch/whatever because they only stop in spots. It looks as if they ran, stopped for literally a second, and ran again.
It happened in matches where everybody was running meta perks so it wasn't a perk, as far as I could tell.
I don't know. It's weird.

@Grigerbest said:
Agreed, scratchmarks sometimes are soooo chaotic, and sometimes they basically don't exist.
Btw, there is perks that preventing survivors from leaving scratchies, so beware of that.=)
Yeah, I thought maybe I was getting hit by weird, niche perks but that wasn't the case either. I'm not saying there's a bug or anything, but I can't place what else could have caused this, especially since it's happened multiple times over the last few days.

Unfortunately I don't have a screenshots to share how chaotic the scratchies in my matches sometimes...
I do feel like way old (2021-2022) scratchmarks were better and easier to "read" for eyes.
I literally just made a post about this. Glad I'm not the only one experiencing weird stuff.

I'll play if you want! My mic is cheap so if it may sound like I'm talking to you through the McDonalds drive-thru, but hey.

They made Dead Hard rewarding to use, and they made it so you can't mindlessly hit the "erase my mistake" button or extend a chase that you deserved to lose. Keep practicing or use a different exhaustion perk.
-
I mean... I don't know. The only time I really feel like the PC vs Console debate matters is when it comes to killers with aiming powers (Huntress, Trickster, Slinger).
You could argue Nemesis and Wesker, I guess, but they're not so bad on console.
-
Yes. You can simply look up, look down, or even look side to side if you feel so inclined.
-
It's a tough thing to balance when you have somebody as weak as Trapper and as oppressive as Nurse in the same game.
If you increase it, you'll only hurt M1 killers. If you keep it the same you're leaving the door open for Nurse, Blight, and Spirit to shake it off and keep tunneling.
-
I'm extremely depressed and playing this stupid, awful, wonderful, fantastic video game lets my mind quiet down for a while.
-

I wish you luck with pig
Thanks, man. I hate to admit it, but after a couple of bad games I played a round of Nurse and Spirit to take the pressure off.
I used really bad perks on Spirit and none on Nurse though, so I think it's forgivable.

Average Solos are the reason most killers keep playing in the first place, never forget that.
The new HUD was a good approach. But if your team plays bad, you're not supposed to win.
You can't "fix" bad players. And balancing around THEM (basekit BT, soon Deli) makes SWFs even stronger.
Players need to get better. And they won't or not even need to if there's too much handholding.
...They're making Deliverance base kit?

@Xernoton said:
As @Shroompy said, your grade has no effect on matchmaking. Reaching Iri 1 is only a personal achievement for you, that is rewarded with 1 million BP at grade reset.
I'm not super good with Pig, so I can't give you a detailed guide on her. But I do know a bit about her strengths and weaknesses. The most obvious is that she lacks power in chase. The ambush is not going to help you in many loops. However, in somewhat secluded loops you can be quite lethal, if you play your cards right. For inspiration on how to use the ambush, I recommend you watch some of CMWinter's videos.
She does have another strength in chase as well. Pig is a small and very quiet killer. That means, that a survivor will have a much harder time to keep track of you once they don't have a direct line of sight on you than they would with Oni or Nemesis for example. This makes your mind games a lot harder to predict and more lethal.
Her real strength is in her traps. There is a fixed amount of searches the survivors have to do to get rid of all 4 of them. If you can figure out how many searches that first survivor had, you can predict how the rest will go. This also allows you to adapt and pressure survivors away from the boxes more often, so that they won't only serve as slow down but extra lethality. If you find yourself in a situation where you can trigger the Endurance effect of a survivor with an active trap, do it! The more side objectives that 1 survivor has, the more likely they are to get overwhelmed and die. Do not try to tunnel a survivor that has a trap on. They won't work on gens anyway, so you can focus on the ones that don't have one.
Thanks for the tips, but I'm actually okay with Piggy for the most part. Mainly I brought that up because of the maps I mentioned playing on — Mother's Dwelling isn't terrible despite being huge, but they had solid RNG on their side with a good window open and a decent one across from it, connected tiles, etc.

It's on them for buying microtrasactions for characters they don't actually own and could be taken away at a moment's notice.
Same reasoning why you shouldn't buy DLCs for games you only have through family share too. If the share is revoked, you can't access those DLCs anymore because you don't own the base game.
Also, if you (general you, not 'you' specifically) bought the ST cosmetics in particular, then it's also on you for not buying the discounted DLC in the several weeks timeframe before it got removed.
That said, I get that this is a special case since the DLC isn't being sold anymore, so it's justified to feel upset about it.
Yeah, your last point is the only reason it feels odd. Obviously I'm not going to blame BHVR for the way Steam operates or anything like that, but it's a sucky situation all around.

Five survivors!? Jesus, these buffs are getting out of hand...

All bloodpoint offerings that award 100% to every single player should be, imo. Even party streamers.

Rest now, you've earned it. Perhaps play some games accepting snoot boops and getting 4 man outed.
Would probably lower your MMR back down.
Haha I've been playing her almost exclusively. She's a lot of fun! ...Other than those games when you get 4 people who are all god loopers. Thankfully those don't come often, but man does it feel bad when they do.
I've tried a few times today to get boops and nobody wants to :(

@mizark3 said:
People who are bad need crutches, see Blight/Nurse/Spirit mains. Survivor should get crutches too. That being said it still is overtuned, remove the Endurance and I think its fine for normal matchmaking. You want to troll post ("Discuss."), you get a troll answer.
I'd much rather see the rest of the killers brought in line (or, at least, an attempt to bring them closer) with the Big 3, but it seems they're fine with keeping Trapper a basement-camping simulator so I don't have much faith for Pig or Clown either.
That said, I agree that survivors should have strong perks to counter strong killers. The issue lies in the fact that survivors are essentially forced to have builds designed around facing the best killers in the game, meaning that when they get somebody chilling and playing Wraith, say, the Wraith player is going to get destroyed by the symphony of meta perks, especially if the map is also in favor of the survivors.
The gap between the best and worst killers needs closing ASAP, but the devs just... don't seem to want to do that.

Comp players like this are why dbd is in such an unfun state. Meta perks come and go maybe chill out. It's supposed to be a fun party game. Let's try and get back to the fun. This perk was only created because of how comp killer side of dbd has become.
It's really not a "fun party game" though. It halfway is and halfway is a comp game. The devs need to figure out which they want it to be and adjust/design perks accordingly.

I'm genuinely confused as to what the point of this post is. Did they revert the eruption changes and I missed it? What are you trying to say?

I'm really basic when it comes to my food, so I'll say pizza (I mean, who doesn't love pizza?) and barbecued foods/foods associated with barbecuing (corn, green beans/green bean casserole, cornbread, etc)
-
All the weak killers just need some upgrades imo.
Trapper - make traps spawn much closer to the centers of the map, slight speed buff to picking up and setting traps (make brown gloves basekit, slightly nerf setting speed add-ons if necessary) and let traps become camouflaged to each map.
Pig - make ambush... not suck? That's the only thing she really needs, I think.
Clown - uh... I don't know. Give him a machine gun idk.

Garden of Pain, Borgo, and Eyrie are all miserable to play M1 killers on. They're all large maps and (not Borgo, but the other two) have insanely strong main buildings. The killer can make main on Eyrie weaker with the breakable walls, but it's still pretty easy to have a long chase on it with the connecting windows and tiles.

"Maybe a competitive mode for swf and casual mode for solo players."
I'd love a competitive queue and a casual queue, but would it work? Good killers who do not care about true competition and just want wins would abuse the casual queue to destroy teams.
I would like to be matched with survivors that have similar prestige levels. Prestige does not necessarily translate into skill, but it does mean that they have been playing longer. It is the inexperienced survivors that tend to mess up solo queue games.
Even if it ended up not fixing anything, this might be worth trying out.
But then again, it seems to me that a large percentage of the hardcore camping and tunneling comes from new players, so that might make the accessibility factor even lower.

What refund? People who used steam family share didn't really pay for that content themselves in the first place, so they're not really owed anything. There's nothing really shady about it, it's definitely frustrating sure, but it's not shady.
Shady would be if someone bought a character by themselves, but then lost that character that bhvr wouldn't issue any form of compensation to the player for the loss of content they themselves had spent money on to begin with.
Sorry, I should have specified that I was talking about cosmetics. If they bought cosmetics and then lost access to the character that the cosmetics belong to.

His kill rates might be high. Trapper sits above 50%. Most players don't play a style that approaches optimal at most MMRs. I genuinely think he's one of the weakest killers on the entire roster. I feel like I'm going crazy when I see Singularity ranked in B or A tier. He has many of the exact same problems as Trapper. High set up time with easy counterplay and low payoff. Singularity doesn't have map pressure if the survivors are trying to win the game. You tag someone across the map and an EMP immediately goes off. You just went AFK for 15 seconds, but you didn't apply map pressure.
I'm genuinely curious about the Trapper kill rate. Take away his ability to trap [X] meters around basement and I bet you it would be cut at least in half.
-
It's kind of shady to me that they won't offer refunds to anybody who lost access to specific characters. I get that it's not their fault, but like... I don't know. Odd situation.

Now that CoH is nerfed, they really could increase the range on the boons to make them more useful. Shadow Step could finally be useful. I'd be down for Shattered Hope becoming basekit, but I'd remove the boon sound so it's harder to find and destroy.

Yeah I understand your point but it's kinda weird to balance the game around MFT. I feel like he specifically made this Coup De Grace statement because he also made an argument saying we should know when MFT is active. If MFT causes issues it should be dealt with separately we shouldn't re-design the whole game over a perk.
I agree. I'm not saying anything like that. I'm saying that having perks like MFT and Coup in the game is a dumb idea LOL
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The map is obnoxious, not denying that. But I don't understand why people are playing M1s without Bamboozle. You're banking on the survivors being bad. The vault up top on GOJ isn't too bad. You can drop down as killer. The two down below suck, but you can Bam them to not lose as much distance.
Of course, Bam won't help with the ridiculous pallet spacing on that map and every tile connecting. Like I said, the map is ridiculous. But Bamboozle helps mitigate main a bit.
It's a waste of a perk slot imo. Sure, it may help in a situation or two, but you can get the same effect from mind gaming in every 9/10 windows in the game. You'll get more value running like 10 perks other than bamboozle.
-
@Venusa said:
Why do we have to know each other's perks at all times? Why does everything have to have an outplay or counter?
Can't we just get hit by Coup De Grace and say "OMG they had that niche perk and they got me!" instead of "Ugh I didn't know he had that perk and my looping is invalid now this is so unfair and unfun!"
I feel like it's just a thought he had at that moment that isn't worth having a discussion about LOL.
To me, it's the same issue as MFT. Things like lunge distance, action speeds and walking/running speeds are the building blocks that this game is made of. Changing these things almost makes whichever side have to play a different game. It's not OP or broken, it's just kinda... lame?

I hated release MoM as killer and still abused the h*ck out of it as a survivor. I'm terrible :/
