”you reward bad survivor play and give them perks with no drawbacks or skill”
killers perks that reward bad gameplay
;-infamous noed-coup de grace-tinkerer-enduring-lightborn-hubris-rancor-brutal strength
all of these are abilities that work directly against good survivor plays, and are much more powerful than any 3% boost that may of got “an extra loop”and in some cases ONE of these perks can change a whole game.
but wait!
”no drawbacks or no skill”
Almost every killer perk in the whole entire game is earned passively through just doing assignments. so ur argument against that doesnt even make sense.
as for skill-wise tho, killers have;
-nowhere to hide,deadlock,starstuck,corrupt intervention,banboozle,trail of torment,iron grasp,discordance,im all ears,
and by the way, mft, hope, and resilence have requirements to activate. But the perks i said are not only 4x stronger (so stronger than a whole lobby if they had it equipped) but also have no requirements AT ALL, or even worse actives upon a bad play.
did i forget to mention that these arent even all the perks i could of mentioned? But to make it clear and concise i made sure to only include ones you couldnt argue away
P.S- after healing nerfs, it was pure gen rushing which resulted in no heals entirely and focusing on gens rather than interacting with the killer or healing/ alturism. The game at that point was at a low point for awhile with no side having fun and the games being either 4ks or 4 mans escape purely because of how fast survivors could do gens, or how fast killers could apply pressure due to lack of alturism.
The NOED one I'll give you — fundamentally, the perk is unhealthy for the game and it's a miracle to me that it still hasn't been changed.
But using coup of all things as an example? Unless you're playing Nurse or Blight, the chances of having a game where the survivors can't finish a single generator is extremely low.
Also, anti-loop perks are strong (some of them, anyway) but like... that's at least one perk that the killer isn't using to slowdown gens or healing.
Also, MFT does not have a prerequisite to activate the speed boost, as far as I can tell. It just... happens. Sure, you can argue that the endurance is the killers fault for slugging or letting an injured survivor get away, but then if the killer doesn't split pressure and loses 3 gens in the first chase you'll say that they should have created more pressure.
Made For This is fundamentally unhealthy for the game because, like Mettle of Man before it, the only killers it really effects are killers who already suck. Try playing Trapper against a SWF using MFT, FtP and Buckle Up. It's a great time, I assure you! /s

I haven't experienced this particular bug (?) but I sure as heck have been grabbed when Wesker is on the opposite side of a window or downed pallet. Feels fantastic when that happens.
-
Wouldn't it make more sense to give an RE skin to Wesker or Nemi?

The low player count prevents match making from being better. If they implemented good match making the people at the top would have 1 hour queues. There just isn't enough players to split people up to make things more fair.
Genuine question here: I thought the player count now was higher than ever?
-
I actually just came back from a year or so break and after a week of playing a few hours a night I'm already thinking of having another.
The devs have done some great things for balance/overall health of the game, but playing killer right now is miserable.
I faced three different 4-man squads in a row about an hour ago, all three of them using some combination of MFT, Buckle Up, For the People, and Unbreakable.
Couple that with the amount of strong items appearing lately, bad maps (or even maps that I don't know yet, which isn't anybody's fault), and the absolute absurdity that is fast vaulting these days (I don't care — it's either overtuned or something else is going on; I should not miss a hit when I swing while the survivor is still on my side of the window because they get launched across the map) playing most killers is just not fun.
-
Doing this would only make slugging builds even less viable than they currently are.

Oh no, you only got a 3k because of the hatch. I hope you can recover from such a brutal defeat.
Most players are so bad that pretty much every killer can win even against "impossible" odds like this. This is what your screenshot is showing us.
If you 3k 3/5 games that should be considered normal, but I guess some people are only happy if they 4k 5/5 games against survivors running exclusively no mither and no items because they don't have to sweat for their win.
This is a 1/5 result for Trapper lol
-
New Buckle Up + For the People combo is just a repeat of original borrowed time. I think the devs are doing some pretty decent changes for the better overall, but sometimes it really feels like we're moving backwards.

Essentially, the Killer client gets priority over Survivor client in some cases.
Killer sees the hit connect, Survivor doesn't see it hit, server checks it and sides with the Killer and awards a hit.
Then... what's the point of having the servers if the serves themselves don't make the calls?

End Transmission came out June 13th
The stats are from April 27th to August 5th.
Made For This likely isn't showing up, because it wasn't around for half the time the data was collected.
Surely it's not as large a part of the reason, but the perk is also locked behind a pay wall (real money or shards) so not as many people will have it, I feel.
-
I appreciate you getting right to the point, but I feel like we need at least a little bit more information.
What's wrong with it, in your opinion? How could they make it better?

They still had enough charges to flashlight blind me multiple times despite me using overwhelming presence. I would rather use lightborn to trick them into thinking that I have no lightborn or use franklin's to drop their item.

facts and still they did buff some weaker perks such as hex crowd control and claustrophobia. There is at least hope for perks like overwhelming presence
Sure, but like... what exactly can they do for it?
I don't like to sh*t on the devs or anything, but it already feels like they're running out of perk ideas. I'm curious to see what the heck they'll do for Xenomorph.

Otz Win 50 games in a row as trapper "GG well deserved", Otz struggle againt a 3% haste effect, omaigad survivor are overpowered please nerfff
Otzdarva also has hundreds if not thousands of hours on Trapper alone. If there's anybody who can do something like that, it's him.
Also, I mentioned him specifically because he's usually pretty good about being objective with his opinions despite playing killer more than survivor.
-
Exaggeration, confirmation bias, and vocal minority.
-
I mean... yeah. It's the same issue as most other problems with the game, which you nailed: the only ones who are really affected by it are the killers who already struggle even without it.
But knowing how the devs balance perks, it'll be four years before it gets nerfed or toned down.
-
I remember Otzdarva recently saying that playing Singularity feels like getting cheated every possible moment you can be cheated.
I don't have the killer yet, but it seems like even the really good players feel like he's weak or, at the very least, difficult to consistently do well with.
-
Truthfully? I've been going through a really bad depressive spell the last few weeks and DBD helps take my mind off of things.
I'm struggling to do other things I enjoy, like reading or writing, so it's nice to just shut my brain off for a couple of hours.
-
I just watched Otzdarva play a match against a 4 man SWF on The Game where all 4 of them were running MFT and it was painful even to watch, much less play against.
But it's okay! Seeing the general track record, we can expect a nerf in 4-5 years :)
-
The generation of event offerings in bloodwebs does seem... weird.
I leveled my Bubba up from 1-14 (ish) and got one of them, and then I got 3 in a single bloodweb on Legion.
-
What's the point of 80% of the perks in the game? Variety is great and all, but the top perks are so much better than everything else that you could legitimately remove probably 40 perks and nobody would even notice, much less care.
-
I don't care what they do to buff maps so long as they finally remove the fact that you can track bear traps.
-
Never, hopefully.
Reasoning: I am afraid of sharks.
I will not accept criticism at this time.

It's most efficient strategy that significantly increases the chance to win, simple as that.
I mean... which killers do you play though? If you tunnel on Trapper and Clown, sure, I understand. But if you're playing Spirit and Wesker every game and still "have" to tunnel then uh... well...

I don’t agree with adding a 4th gen, but making generators take two minutes by default would kill the game.
Agreed, but that's where the "if..." comes into play.
-
Otzdarva also got 50 wins in a row as both Trapper and Clown, using only one add-on (brown gloves on Trapper) out of four slots.
Is it frustrating sometimes, sure. But killers have just as many things that can make it frustrating for survivors as well.

@Blueberry said:
We can start by making both his ultra rares base kit as they each fix core problems with his design which are terrible time efficiency and a survivor just following you around disarming everything.
Next either start with all his traps on him, have them spawn much more central on the map, or have them spawn at pallets and windows so even if they’re far they’re in useful spots.
Traps darkened at base as well.
As a general note I also feel like they should be putting way more grass on maps than they currently are.
If he was to get all this however, I would increase the distance that he is unable to place a trap near a hook. Since these are large buffs to fix a lot of his really bad design flaws we need to weaken his hook camping simultaneously so he’s not just piling traps at a hook.
These buffs may sound really extreme but I feel like that should really get across how complete trash he is and how much help he really needs to be competitive. Small buffs or tweaks are not fixing how bad he is.
At this point, I wouldn't be against trying any or all of these. He needs something.

@jeffkillsyou96 said:
They’re more than likely never reworking trapper there’s yt videos on this topic but basically they can’t because
- trapper is supposed to be a beginner killer and there’s nothing the devs can do to buff his power without making him more complicated which defeats the purpose
- it’s financial suicide for BHVR to look at killers that are free to play seeing how they need to keep a cash flow to please their license overlords
I don't think he even needs a full rework, just some more quality of life changes.
Trap spawns should be centralized rather than spread across the entire map, injured survivors should be downed when freeing themselves from a trap, the Trapper himself should pick up traps faster, and the traps should blend in to the terrain of the maps at least a little bit.
These changes wouldn't suddenly make him S-tier (or really elevate him much at all) but it would at least be a start.
-
I think this is a good idea, at least enough so to test it out. Things like these, ideas that hurt the strongest killers but not the ones already suffering, are what we need more of.

lol lmao even.
sadako is nerfed
coldwind is easily ignored
perks are mediocre noone will use it
Sadako is a certified pub-stomper now, brother. I don't know what game it is you're playing...
Edit: To be fair, I say we do have to wait a month or two to fully judge her. Once survivors adapt to her new play-style it might be a different story.
-
It's very unfun to play against. That's the whole issue.
However, a fair number of killers are essentially forced into it because of how weak they are.
For example, I'd put money on it that if you played ten clown games where you rotated and 3-hooked each survivor and ten games where you juggle two survivors and leave the others for last, the results for the latter could be interpreted to suggest that clown isn't desperately weak.
Bad map design and killers lacking map pressure ending up weak go hand-in-hand. IMO you can't fix one without addressing the other.

@DragonMasterDarren said:
Skill Issue, old Dead Hard was a mistake of game design and should have never been in the game in the first place
I agree, but I do think we need to continue pointing out how long fixes take. Old DH was in the game for, what... 6 years? It took them six rotations around the sun to fix this one perk.
Heck, Myers's tombstone add-ons, relics of a DBD that hasn't existed for at least three or four years, are still unchanged.
I'm not arguing that people complain mindlessly, but the devs also aren't making important changes nearly as fast as they should be.
-
No shade being thrown here by any means, but I find it funny that a large majority of the survivor main community (i.e. people who play survivor significantly more than they play killer, if they play killer at all) complain about the discrepancy between survivor and killer BP earnings but then turn around and also complain when they're given opportunities to earn more BP....

The whole "s3xual nature" thing doesn't make sense to me either, especially considering Spirit has a skin where her whole booty-ass is just hangin' out.
Obviously there's a difference between a butt and some kind of sadomasochistic BDSM torture labyrinth, but still.
-
Doesn't she also give survivors exposed if they stand in her drone areas for a certain amount of time?
She has basically everything to make a strong killer but every good thing she has, she has in the most annoying way.
-
I legit couldn't find a TV anywhere and ended up getting mori-d after first chase lmao
It's like tombstone Myers but somehow even more braindead.
-
My guy, Trapper is perhaps the worst killer in the game right now.
Between the fact that strong items are being used left and right these days (thus speeding up an already fast game and making it less and less viable to take time to set up good traps) and the fact that they, for some reason, decided to rework every map to have paper thin grass, what else do you expect?
It's either play around trapped pallets or sit in the basement with a trap at every entrance of the shack.
Buff Trapper please :(
-
It does feel like the devs don't know exactly what they want out of their own game, and that's coming from someone who plays both sides more or less equally.
Gen speed nerfs, slugging nerfs, half of the perks offering endurance (exaggeration, in case that wasn't clear), gen regression nerfs, etc.
Seems like they can't make up their minds.
-
Truthfully, I don't mind MFT as much as I mind having to play against 3 purple toolboxes and a syringe every game. Strong items have been used a lot more recently, it feels like.

Seriously, how do you expect people to be altruistic in solo survivor? Nerfing healing into oblivion for solo survivors was a horrible decision, make it 50% or a lil higher bc right now it's in a horrible spot
Why not just run Inner Healing and heal for free? Sure, you might not find every totem every game but surely you can find one or two?
