I only bought this one for the Nurse cosmetic, and only after I got far enough in the Rift to unlock it right away after buying it. Now I'm on tier 62 ish, so I basically got my money back minus a dollar, though I expect I could finish the Rift before the next one.

Explain why this can't be a slow vault instead? Killer still gets a hit but now you'd be on the other side of the window. Fair to both players. This is the kind bull ######### I talk about anytime I say I hate Doc.
Now that he moves at 115 all the time and doesn't need to switch stances, this really needs to be changed.
-
I doubt Doc will jump that high on the tier list. I expect him to be mildly better.

It's not a teleport.
It's a phase walk.

I like that, that could work. But I feel they'll eventually catch on and start breaking the portals when they realize where they are...
My friend did this and got it first try (with Demo/this build at least).
-
Demogorgon. Territorial Imperative and Make Your Choice. Hook someone in the basement and set a portal at the top of the stairs. Walk away. When TI procs, set a portal and wait a few seconds before teleporting. Get two in basement. Rinse repeat.
-
This is easiest in SWF.
Get 3 friends. Have then 99 gens and then you finish them. I got it first try doing this.
Of course if you don't have friends you can do what @Edys said to do.
-
Gens regress at 0.25 c/s.
Survivors repair at 1 c/s base with no buffs/debuffs.
So if a gen is 99% it would take (80*0.99)/0.25 = 79.2/0.25 = 316.8 seconds (5 minutes 16.8 seconds) to fully regress.
Basically for every second it takes a survivor to repair a gen, it takes 4 seconds to regress.
-
Don't be nice.
-
Before his rework I would say I mastered old Freddy. I would play him without Ruin or NOED and survivors would tell me I was the best Freddy they played (at rank 1 no less).
After that, Spirit and new Freddy.

Usually saying you’re good at something means you really aren’t.
It’s like that phenomenon where uninformed people believe they are good at something because they don’t understand how much they have yet to learn.
Any player, Killer or Survivor, knows how overpowered the old loop setups (or “infinites”) were. Looping is still possible and very effective. It’s just not impossible to counter now.
I have one of two working theories about you:
- You used to face inexperienced Survivors who didn’t know how to utilize their overpowered infinites. Skewing your perspective of how “Killers still managed to own Survivors.”
- You are a Survivor main who’s having trouble ranking up, and you’re complaining about your (very necessary) nerfs because you won’t get good.
Balance is in a fairly good place right now. Behaviour just has to put a lot more effort into bug fixing and quality of life changes.
EDIT: I just watched your gameplay video. I can see why you want the extra pallets back. You love tossing them down. You and your team had so many sub-optimal plays and yet most of y’all still got out. The Pig played pretty decently too (much fewer mistakes than you).
You know what? You’ve opened my eyes. I can totally see how braindead easy Killer is now. The Pig was an exception. She must’ve been played by a guy named Jonny or something.
The term you are looking for is the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
-
Wait. How can you be 2nd in the world in "survivors killed" but only top 50 in "survivors sacrificed"?
How many mori's are you using?

I’d argue the most the killers you didn’t mention aren’t at a disadvantage OR advantage on this map. It’s actually quite nice.
Well...
Stealth killers are definitely at an advantage.
Killers with some form of teleport are at a clear advantage.
Not a great map for Huntress but then again what is?
Doc can get an easy 3 gen on this map.
Clown with Brutal Strength can eat through all the pallets pretty fast.
Basement is very strong so Bubba can potentially snowball hard.
Who's left? Plague and Legion I guess. Legion gets more benefit from Killer Instinct so it can help. Plague doesn't have to go as far for fountains.
So if we count them 2, Bubba and Huntress, that's only 6 killers out of 18 that are clearly disadvantaged.
-
Before they gutted Balanced Landing, yes. It was definitely a survivor map.
Now... maybe. There are a lot of safe pallets but for a lot of killers this map is really strong. Really the only killers that are disadvantaged on Game are Trapper and Billy.

you dont get it, its about making SWF and Solo more similair in balance, then they can balance the game around that.
SWF can tell eachother what they are doing and if the killer is close to them, that is exactly what Kindrid does and thus would pull these 2 more together, that is the entire point....
No I get it. What you don't get is something called power creep. Google it.

Killer shouldnt camp, simple. No need to handhold camping killers so they can keep abusing it against solo survivors.
If the killer camps you do gens. If you camp against good survivors, SWF or solo, you will lose.

how you cant seem to provide any argument as to why that would be is beyond me.
Because it's pretty obvious that if you give every survivor full aura reads on all other survivors AND the killer that it would be overpowered when you consider that they all have 4 free perks slots.
Like explain to me how it would be balanced. You can't. There is no need for this. If you play solo then either ignore the guy on the hook and finish a gen or take the risk the killer is camping and go for the save.
It's really not hard to know when you should and should not be going for a save. If you are on a gen, and see another survivor take a hit that's usually a cue for you to go save.
Four top tier survivors in a game do not NEED Kindred. Not in the slightest.

If it's gamebreaking, then so is swf. We can't delete swf. So what's left? Kindred basekit, balance the game accordingly (killer buffs). Simple math, it's the only logical way to balance this game
This won't work, you're just ruining the already delicate balance of the game to account for SWF. Yes, SWF is an advantage, but to build that strength into the game would just break the game. You get power creep and eventually everything is so powerful that the game is no longer fun for anyone.
The goal should not be to make solo as good as SWF. The goal should actually be to limit SWF in some capacity such that it's more of a challenge for them. It makes more sense to bring down the strong stuff than to make everything overpowered.
Probably the absolute best way to do this would be to say "only 1 instance of a perk in an SWF". This way you don't get games where everyone runs BT/Adren/DS/DH. Everyone would need their own build and they would have to spread out the powerful stuff. That is a very simple balance solution to SWF, and as a survivor main I would be totally okay with it.
-
Sorry but base kit Kindred would be pretty game breaking. In it's current form (and even previous form) it is actually very powerful. Their reasoning makes sense. How you can't see it would be way too strong is beyond me.
I'm very thankful that none of you are on the dev team.
-
Frame rate hurts her way more than sensitivity. I have no issues turning fast to hit survivors, the problem is that you can barely tell what's going on around you as you blink because the frame rate drops.
If the game ran at a smooth 60fps at all times, you would see more top tier Nurse players on console guaranteed.
-
Remove character specific/perk specific challenges.
Remove challenges that are basically impossible at red ranks (eg. basement 4k challenge).

See I'm sorry that's just as bad. Like...I genuinely go around and help people with their challenges whether I'm a survivor or a killer. I don't then try and screw them all over after getting what I need. if I'm a killer doing challenges I'm happy to let the survivors that help me go and if I'm a survivor doing challenges I'm happy to die afterwards.
Hell I don't even necessarily I want people to help me do my challenges for say I just don't want people to outright make it impossible by like avoiding me (when I'm a survivor) or something like that. You don't want to help that's fine but you don't need to deliberately be a jerk :/ so I'm really sorry that happened to you.
Except that majority of killers play like jerks to get their challenges. Sorry I'm not going to hand you a challenge. Just like I'm not going to hand you an achievement. I'm not going around begging killers to let me get my challenge, I earned them like you're supposed to.
If you are doing the basement challenge you are going to play like a jerk. If I notice you have Iron Grasp and Agi and going for basement all the time, I'm going to stay as far away from the basement as possible. Don't get mad at me for playing to win. Get mad at the devs for making stupid challenges.
No one, and I mean NO ONE at red ranks is going to let you get your challenges. You have to earn them. If the killer is legit nice and messages me before the game to farm I might, but I also might just dodge the lobby.
-
I had a Myers signal us to farm because he wanted his grabs. Dude then gets EW3 and slugs 3 of us to try and get a cheeky 4k. If he wasn't an awful killer he could have just won the game right there but we managed to recover and 4e.
So no I'm not interesting in helping a killer farm for the challenges.
-
What about us console players?
-
Because you are shorter when you crouch.
-
Doesn't Huntress have a thing for little girls? Like she is a psycho murderer but let's little girls live or something?
I'd say Huntress then.
-
I'm actually being pushed to play killer more.
Matchmaking at red ranks takes forever as survivor. Solo or SWF. But as killer I can find a game in less than a minute every time.
With old rank reset I could actually play survivor after a reset. Now I'm stuck in lobby simulator forever.

ure comparing 2 different killers with 2 different powers. IF and ONLY IF ure saying to remove the doctors shock slow down for a slow vault that might help BUT if u arent then no thats still a nerf and isnt better ANYWAY. MEANING when the doctor shocks hes slowed down (walk speed), if u wanna remove that. now he cant stop people from throwing down pallets like before.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/932717#Comment_932717
theres nothing wrong with the doctor, people just dont like playing vs him because survivors dont wanna work or change their perk set up to counter his power. which if u didnt know there is alrdy 1 perk that counters his power.
Blocking a pallet drop is fine, I'm talking explicitly about blocking vaults because it's buggy AF and completely latency dependent. This makes it broken. You vault the window, scream and teleport back. That should never happen, especially because of the killer's power. Likewise, this mechanic screws over the killer because you might see you shocked the survivor then they just appear on the other side. If it forced a slow vault then it's 100% going to do that and thus both players can play around it consistently.
The difference between blocking a vault and blocking a pallet drop is that if you see that you dropped the pallet regardless it will be dropped. The pallet doesn't reset after you see yourself drop it. It's not as binary as a window vault, where you are either on this side or that side.
And while he might get slowed while charging, it will only be for about a second. Unlike before where he would have to switch to treatment, shock, then switch back. He's literally gaining an extra 2-3 seconds of 115 movement speed here.

there isnt a better way, and slow vaulting isnt a better way. better for survivors but not killer. nice try tho.
If you can't catch someone moving at 115 and making them slow vault, it's not because the killer is weak.
Case and point, I play Freddy at rank 1 (you could almost say I main him). I can consistently beat survivors at loops using snares to force a slow vault. I don't need to block the window at all to beat them.
So yes, there is a better way and that better way is to force a slow vault. He does not need to block a vault.

Legion did need it, Legion is terrible now, he can't fulfill basic role of keeping everyone injured or punishing co-op actions. Legion is laughable killer now. Who knows, maybe he will find some hope in another universe. Doctor's niche is related to preventing vaulting and pallet droping. It is meant be skill-shot. How hard the skill-shot is to land is debatable. Slowing vaulting is clown and Freddy mechanic and as such, it belongs on them. I'd wait till PTB before freaking out about the changes.
No Doc's niche is inflicting Madness that messes with you in various ways. Blocking a vault is not his niche.
That's like saying Hag's niche is to make your camera jerk when you trigger a trap. Or that Myers niche is extra lunge and faster vaults in EW3.
-
"I believe that with enough matches, anyone can rank up in dead by daylight"
I agree with this to a point. But once you get to purple ranks, this idea kind of goes out the window. Ranking up in purple/red ranks requires you to consistently perform well. At red ranks you basically have to OVER perform to rank up. It might be easy to safety pip at these ranks, but to earn a pip takes effort. This goes for both survivor and killer.
Although, in theory, if you just meet the minimum to not depip consistently you will rank up just because you will get games with potatoes that you can just run over, but the speed at which you do this might not be fast enough to beat rank reset. If you are this player you'd need to play the game a LOT, like several hours every day the entire month, and even then if you are very good it will be a struggle.
With the older systems yea this would be true. Even the old emblem system it would be true. But now that you have to basically get 4 golds to rank up at red ranks I don't see this being a thing unless you just play the game a lot a lot.

They both use cross-hairs.
Zubat last night was even making fun of the fact someone was making fun of Scott, because he used Cross-hairs, and they said "I lost respect for you when you started using cross-hairs. I'm going to watch Zubat's Huntress instead", when he too uses a cross-hair.
Zubat USED to not use one, but he does now.

Dude have you even ever played killer? Do you have any idea what that would do to the killer? As if maps in this game weren't awful enough you want to get rid of his only niche he has.
Yes. I'm rank 1 killer and survivor for the past 18 months at least. Thanks.
Do you play survivor?
I can't believe people defend this kind of BS. "It's all he has" yea that's what a rework is for. To make him better, both for killer AND survivor. You act like he could never get some new tech.
Just the fact he can shock you and hit without losing speed OR needing to change stances just makes this issue even worse. HE DOES NOT NEED IT. Stop saying he does. It's like saying Legion needed a broken Deep Wounds timer from his launch.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Put a cross-hair in the middle of your screen.
No joke. All the good Huntress players do it, and it does help your brain remember "where" the center of your screen is.
Good Huntress players are patient. Don't throw hatchets willy-nilly. Be patient, aim your shots carefully. What I like to do is look forward as I approach the target, and when they try to weave around, I wait until they run into where the hatchet will go in the middle of my screen.
Practice, practice and practice. Huntress is the character with the highest skill ceiling in the game.
"All the good Huntress players do it"
I highly doubt this.
AFAIK both Zubat and Scott don't do this and they are probably two of the best Huntress players out there.

So.... basically you want to make addon-less Doc have no power whatsoever besides tracking?
No he can make you slow vault. The fact he doesn't need to change his stance means he can shock you, force a slow vault, and still easily land the hit.
This is my exact problem with this discussion. It always becomes a "oh so you want Doc to be total ass killer". NO. Stop putting words into my mouth. I'm fine with him being stronger in other areas, but when he shocks you and you ######### teleport back across the vault, that is complete BS. No excuse for that and if you defend it you are just defending a broken latency dependent mechanic. PERIOD.
-
I've been a rank 1 survivor for a while and I find Doc seriously annoying to play against. Keyword ANNOYING. He's not hard to play against. I want to make that clear. But just because I can escape from Doc doesn't mean I find him in any way fun to play against.
IMO these changes are welcome. The only other thing I'd like to see is that they remove the vault stopping power of his ability since he no longer needs to change his stance AND he is always moving at 115 speed. Honestly the most annoying thing to deal with against Doc. Just make it a slow vault. It would be so much better.
Also you shouldn't be blocked from healing a survivor off the ground. It gives him free slugs and it's super annoying to deal with. Normal healing sure, but healing off the ground hell no. Also also Mend should take priority over Snap Out.
Do these things and make his add-ons stronger and I'd have no problem with Doc moving forward.

@humanbeing1704 said:
It should be removed but then what would the perk be different each tier then
Well that's why I say maybe don't remove it entirely just make it time based instead. Then the time is what separates the tiers.
Or you could add some sort of BP bonus to protection hits. 50/100/150% something like that.
-
Tell him it's because he is playing with rank 20's and that if he plays with your group it will be different than solo.
Or tell him to try killer.
Also mention to him the survivors are not a team. He's not obligated to make sure they escape. Tell him to worry about himself and only help others if it's conducive to his escape. If it's too much of a risk just let them die. His problem is he looks at this like a team game like COD when it's not a team game. Survivors all have the same goal (escape) but you're not a team.

by the time you find and injure all 4 survivors you've probably lost a gen or two.. hit someone 2 times and get a 25% regression w/Pop or find everyone and make 4 hits for 16%, which 1 or 2 people can heal themselves by the time you catch and down the 4th person. It's a placebo perk
Yea you will probably lose a gen. But once all 4 are injured the game slows down considerably. To the point that they will be frantically trying to heal or avoid getting hit again to do another gen. Most survivors will try to heal which is a waste of time because Sloppy.
Trust me dude, I use this combo on several killers and it works. You don't have early game pressure, but your mid to late game pressure is immense.
Regarding Pop, this requires you to get a hook and then kick a gen. That's a time sink, and it's only 1 gen. Thana is all gens. It forces survivors to group up to do a gen which means it's easier to get more hits for Thana.
I play Spirit at rank 1 with Thana, Sloppy, Stridor, and Dying Light. I change targets frequently and unpredictably. I slug like crazy. Yea, they will get a gen or two done but once I get 2 hooks healing is no longer and option, and once I get 4 the gens just STOP getting done. It's such a hard thing to recover from as survivor. Once you get into that downward spiral there is no coming back.

Spine chill isn’t really underrated anymore, a lot of people use it and find it very useful.
What I mean is that it is easily top 5 perks in the game. But most people wouldn't rate it that high. They claim it has no use against non-stealth killers which is false. It has use against everyone in almost every situation. A good example is Doc. If you are in Madness 2 and he has Calm add-ons, you can use Spine Chill to determine if it's a fake heartbeat or not.
It's more that people don't want to acknowledge it's true potential that makes it underrated.
-
@Hopesfall said:
Thanataphobia
4% of 80 seconds for a gen is a whopping extra 3.2 seconds per person injured.. inconsequential.
The thing is if you run it with Sloppy you put survivors in a catch 22.
Spend ages healing and never do gens.
Or do gens slower and stay injured all game.
If they refuse to heal it means 4 injured survivors pretty much all the time, which is an extra 15 seconds on the gens (80/0.84=95.2, because we are dealing with a scaling percent it's not just 3.2 seconds per survivor). When literally 2 seconds can make the difference between finishing the gen and not finishing it, that's a big deal. The reason you aren't finding value in Thana is because you're not injuring survivors enough. If you are the type to find a survivor and chase them until you catch them, Thana is not good. You need to have 2 or more injured at all times, hence why it works best with Sloppy or on killers like Legion/Plague that discourage survivors from healing in the first place. Spread the damage and use Sloppy, you will see how strong this perk actually is.
