  • STBFL is overrated. You recover faster from a hit which can be nice, but it's only going to make a difference in a chase once you get 6 or more tokens. And the fact you have to outright refuse to hit the obsession makes it worse.

Prove Thyself is overrated. With 2 survivors on a gen, no other buffs/debuffs, you save 4 seconds. That's it. All it does is cancel out the very minor debuff you get when you work on a gen with another survivor.

Thanatophobia is very underrated. It only started to become more popular after TrueTalent started using it in his GF and now Wraith builds. But I've been proclaiming the effectiveness of Sloppy/Thana combo for a long time now. Over a year at least. Before the devs updated Thana. It's just really really strong, especially on killers where you can spread damage quickly. I use this combo on Spirit instead of Ruin and it is IMO way better than Ruin, though requires you to actually do stuff before it takes effect.

Spine Chill is underrated. This perk gives you so much information it's crazy. It hard counters pretty much every stealth killer. It helps you to juke Nurse and Spirit. It can tell you when a killer has certain aura perks/add-ons. It let's you know if the killer is headed to the gen you are on or just walking around. It's so useful in almost every situation and it's very difficult to play around as killer.

  • I play with Spine Chill all the time so for me it was just a matter of time to get this one. Wasn't that hard honestly.

They could honestly skip the system and just delete Haddonfield, Ormund, Fractured Cowshed, Thompson House, and Sheltered Woods and have the exact same effect.

I think Ormond would be okay if it were just smaller.

  • Whispers 100%

Helps you find the first and last survivor quickly/easily. Helps you zone survivors into areas you want. Let's you know if you are wasting time searching an area for survivors.

Deerstalker is good for slugging that's about it. And even then, Nurse's Calling is a better option because it can be effective for other things besides slugging.

thats like a even worse second wind its literally bot worth. I can tell ur a killer main.

    No I actually main survivor.

I wouldn't mind being automatically healed while I do a gen or cleanse some totems. That's time I don't have to spend healing through Sloppy, or getting seen with Nurse's Calling.

Anything that gives a free hit is dumb. Old insta-heals were free hits. New Styptic is a free hit. Free hits from pressing a button are dumb.

And you can't compare them to Second Wind. That perk requires you to heal someone, then get hooked. Insta-heals require you to press a button. Not even in the same ballpark.

Asylum is balanced now. Only BL was the problem, the Map is now killer-sided.

    @Topic:

The School is not that crazy. Sure, 4 Pallet Spots where 3 of them are pretty decent (the one in the Hallway is not that good), but you can catch up around the School.

And overall, every Pallet outside of a Building is highly unsafe and playable. If a Survivor decides to stay at one of those Pallets, they will get hit.

(If the Killer thinks it is smart to break every Pallet... Yeah, thats his fault)

Dude you can still loop a killer for an eternity at the ward. You don't need Balanced to do it.

  • @ScottJund said:

There are far worse structures than the school IMO. Someone mentioned the Asylum which is still absurdly brokenly strong, and then there is basically any variant of Fractured Cowshed / Thompson House.

I agree. Asylum is the worst loop in the game now. At least 4 safe pallets and 2 safe windows. Balanced Landing heaven (even though it's not that good now). Lots of places to hide. The loops here are so strong they can beat a Spirit in a chase by just dropping the pallet.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

I mean I'm sad freddy got nerfed. Many loops in the game have little to no mindgame to them and often you are forced to break a lot of pallets, however by the time you actually begin to have gameplay with the killer, the game is over. Freddy wasn't even that great, he still needed chase perks to effective, it sucks that developers changed him because they somehow believed that some weird forever freddy build was Root cause of the problem. What those add-on allowed him to do is not need to slug constantly like other M1 killers to stand a chance at winning. Now he's in same boat as everyone else.

Oni suffered same faith, He had potential to make a lot of loops unsafe with his power and he could break a lot of safe pallets really quickly with his power and he could capitalize on survivors out of position. This would allow him to quickly create a lot of dead zones where he could capitalize on survivor who are out of position, it gave him opportunity to compete against better teams, but the developers went and slammed many changes to make it as hard as possible to snowball with him. I am not sure why but I saw a video on Ohtofu channel that questioned Oni power level on PTB against bad players so I guess they listen to him and he turned out in current state he is in.

It is quite sad that M1 killers are not allowed to have any possible chance to win against better teams and it seems they are changed based off phony statistics related to solo queue and potato survivor gameplay. If this continues to be the case, it will be a major downward spiral. I find the game in its most healthy state when killers are able to capitalize on survivors bad positioning and their game pressure means something towards rank system/outcome of the match. I think last few changes have been very anti-fun for killer and that is not exactly good for the game. I am not exactly opposed to them, but rather disappointed as I think they are step backwards in game health. It is stressful enough to play M1 killers, no need to make the situation worse.

What? Freddy is top tier dude. He can shut down loops without any chase perks. He can instantly teleport across the map. He is very hard to track for survivors. He has a lot of potential to slow the game. Freddy right now is one of the best killers in the game. If you think he wasn't good in a chase either you don't know how to play Freddy, or you are using dream pallets (which is basically you not knowing how to play Freddy).

Red rank Killer on Xbox NA, can confirm. Instant games for Killer, 15+ minute q's for Survivor.

Yea I can find a game instantly as killer.

Either there is no one playing killer or something is wrong.

  • @Almo said:

    Regarding rank reset update:

One serious problem we had was people who don't play a lot who still want to rank up. Sure, playing a game a month just isn't enough. But when it takes quite a few games to get from 15 to 5 and each month it knocks you right back down, that's not fun, nor is it indicative of how good you are at the game.

Also, the system knocked everyone from 1 down to 10, and then various ranks down to 15 depending on how far from 1 you were. Given how the matchmaking algo works (in order to get queue times down), that meant every single player in the entire pool was a legal target to play with every other player in the pool.

I'm rank 4 solo survivor on Xbox. I apparently can't find a match. Sat in a lobby for 10 minutes and nothing. Played like 3 or 4 games to get to red rank. No red rank killers.

I'd rather be rank 10 if it means I can find a game.

  • Dark Devotion is good on GF if you use a recharge add-on. You cloak, hit the obsession, get Undetectable for 30s, and your power comes back before the timer is up. You can basically get multiple hits in shroud for free.

ur funny “20 seconds” and “40 seconds” whats the POINT u can use a regular or a teammate literally are u okay in the head?

You can literally do other things while you heal. They shouldn't be used mid-chase for a free hit. They should be used to counter anti-heal builds and save you the time of healing yourself.

You use an insta, you can work on a gen and heal while you do the gen.

  • Other than when hit or hooked. No Mither should not leave drops of blood.

With Oni it's more like delaying his power as long as possible, as opposed to not giving it ever like with Plague.

Don't think the two are super comparable.

But once he hits you, you have to heal immediately or you leave blood everywhere.

You can delay it only so long but eventually he will get it.

  • @Not_Tru3 Finished the rift like a month ago. Granted he bought like 7 tiers or something, he plays a lot and would have it all now anyway.

It's doable you just have to play the game A LOT.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

Is it possible for the Oni to never get his power due to not finding and injuring survivors?

Then in that case, isn't it possible for very good survivors to avoid getting hit?

While it's an extreme possibility, this is all I'm talking about.

Against a competent 115 killer, not getting hit at all is impossible unless you literally hide all game. If you get chased there is a 100% chance you will get hit eventually.

  • Surveillance is a tracking perk.

Discordance is an anti-gen rush perk.

They may function similarly but have fundamentally different purposes.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

styptic is still a free hit

    Exactly this.

Needle is fine. Styptic is still kind of dumb.

IMO they should both auto-heal over a certain period. 20s needle and 40s styptic, and they are immune to buffs/debuffs. Shouldn't use up the medkit either, just the add-on like BNP.

That would make them both totally fine. It's more of a "heal while doing something else" boost instead of a free hit.

  • @Oshi said:

T.TV in nickname - console streamer?

These actually already exist, and lots of people stream on console. A good chunk of my friends stream, a few are the top DBD streamers on Mixer (most of the time, except when Ninja plays).

Streaming on Xbox is as easy as having a Mixer account. Its streaming service is built into the platform.

  • I can confirm Oni feels better now on Xbox.

Played a game it was rough to turn or land some hits. When I went back to the lobby game said I needed update. Played another game and it was noticeably better.

  • Jump Rope should be 6%. Outdoor rope should be 3%. Swing Chains is acceptable.

  • @Mr_K said:

The question is it additive or multiplicative.

Additive has the potential of 0 or negative progress.

    Multiplicative would result in this:

    1. 213s
    2. 118s
    3. 79s

    Which makes more sense.

I plugged some numbers into Excel and found that if you increase the percentage over 100 (eg. 20 theoretical stacks of Thana) for either my math or @twistedmonkey you get like -200s. IIRC the devs said they do the math to avoid this so you can never progress at less than or equal to 0, otherwise you can't play. So both of these have to be wrong.

    @Almo @Janick Any feedback?

I think he's going off of 9% in seconds.

Or what I meant is, 9% of 80 seconds.

He is but that's the incorrect formula.

The correct formula is 80/1.09. It increases the speed it does not decrease the time.

I wouldn't discourage them too hard. The devs love to see new ideas on the forums, and they do take the ones they like back to the design team for discussion, and some get implemented into the game. Also, I get the distinct impression that this happens a lot more often than many people realise.

    It doesn't. Trust me.

I'm not trying to discourage him from sharing his ideas. Just trying to make sure he understands the reality of the situation.

  • Adiris because she's not evil and would appreciate being treated with some respect.

Also after she throws up you can threaten to sue the restaurant for serving bad food and probably get the meal comped.

  • Cuz he an angy boi

  • Obsidian color/texture, yes it's cool.

Obsidian as in the rock, not really only because it's not believable. Obsidian is like glass, and you can't really make a weapon out of it. I've seen images of knives and stuff but they are more for show than for use because the moment you use them it would flake or shatter. The only type of weapon you can make with obsidian rock is a club with obsidian shards embedded in the edge. It's called a macuahuitl, and it's more of a club type weapon than a slashing one. It's similar to Oni's Kanabo, or a baseball bat with nails in it.

  • Generators require 80 charges to repair completely.

Base repair speed is 1 charge per second.

Resilience increases repair speed by 9% at tier 3.

The formula would be 80/1.09 = 73.4 seconds.

    @ASpazNamedSteve said:

    72.8 seconds

    This is incorrect. Sorry.

  • @Fibijean gave you the spots to go, but I'd like to give you some advice.

    Don't get your hopes up.

It's great that you want to present your ideas but the chances any developer would take them is very very low. Like below a fraction of a percent. It's only if your idea is both incredibly novel and easy to implement would they even consider it.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to keep your expectations in check. Share your ideas but be realistic about it. Otherwise you may be seriously disappointed.

  • Huntresses with the cat mask.

    Baby Nurses.

    Memey Ghostfaces.

  • I know you said 1 but these kinda go together...

Predator - Increases the sound of footsteps by 20/30/40%. Decreases the volume of chase music by 25%.

Lightweight - Decreases sound of footsteps by 20/30/40%. Delays scratch marks by 1 second.

  • I got accused of camping my totem when I had Ruin and TOTH, and the dude kept running to one of them right in front of me. Like why would I let you take out my totem? Especially if you are going to get on it when I'm right around the corner? LOL

  • Yes. M/Kb support is native on Xbox, developers just need to enable it. If you can plug in any Dell m/kb then there is no advantage. This besides the fact that you won't see much of a difference except with Huntress and Nurse, and even then you still have to deal with less the optimal frame rates.

  • YOU. ARE. NOT. SUPPOSED. TO. KNOW. WHEN. SHE. IS. PHASE. WALKING.

Amulet was "makes everything MUCH better without any form of downside." Anything is going to feel worse by comparison.

(Fingers crossed for Carby Guide next.)

All they needed to do was reduce numbers though. The old version was a combination of her 3 yellow add-ons. Just cut down the numbers so it's like her 3 brown add-ons instead. That would have been just fine. What they did is make it almost completely useless, because taking a reduction to speed is the absolute last thing you want as Spirit. The added duration means nothing because she loses the ability to use her power effectively in a chase.

I think it is a bug but I’m pretty use to it already, if it is a bug however I do hope they fix it.

I hope so. If it is a bug then I'm fine with the changes besides Amulet.

  • They need to revert the post-phase speed curve changes. It feels like you hit a brick wall and just come to a full STOP coming out of phase. However I think this might be a bug on Xbox, because watching TrueTalent's recent Spirit video he seemed to have a normal-ish speed curve post-phase, and he did not have Saya or Tsuba either.

If it is a bug they need to fix it.

Alternatively, revert the base kit change completely and then make Saya/Tsuba have a new effect. Something like a combined baby Unrelenting and baby STBFL for post-phase attacks.

Amulet change I don't like. The add-on feels worthless.

Everything else I'm fine with really. Doesn't hurt her much if at all.

  • IIRC the devs said they would never do something like this. Sorry.

  • AFAIK you can still disarm these traps. If you couldn't I would maybe say that it's an exploit.

  • Hag because I refuse to crouch walk.

  • Possibly.

I know for a fact that med-kit charge add-ons are bugged. I had a green med-kit with +12 and +8 add-ons. I should have been able to fully heal myself twice with 4 charges to spar. Killer had Frankie's and knocked it out of my hand. I got away and went to recover my med-kit, healed and was only able to heal myself about 95%, then the med-kit was used up and vanished.

I haven't used toolboxes, but if what you say is correct about flashlight batteries that could mean ALL charge add-ons are bugged. I might try a toolbox with some scrap later to see.

  • @Peanits said:

Well that's simple. One was an easy fix, the other was not. If we can quickly find what's causing the problem, we're going to fix it as soon as we can. If we can't find what's causing it, we can't fix it.

    @Mr_K said:

Well the basement bug was literally game breaking. The perk bugs, while really bad, did not prevent the game from being played.

What I'm sure both of us want is more hotfixes between chapter updates. I for one don't like waiting 45 days for a patch to broken elements in the game just to have more things break in their place.

    This and this.

We're lucky the basement bug was an easy fix. Else it wouldn't have had a hotfix so soon.

And the priority of the bug is important. Basement bug literally makes the game unplayable. Wake Up/SB bugs are balance breaking, but don't actually stop someone from playing the game.

Also FYI to anyone that might still experience the bug; if you tap the rescue as if going for a fake it will reset the hooked survivor's camera and undo the bug. So tap them, then make the save.
