Don't worry, they will not kill the game this time but given that post it feels they don't understand the main issue.
It's not even about the difficulty or the impossible task winning with handcuffs, ball and chain.
It's about forcing players to play in an unnatural way AND about how ridiculous it looked like in game.
Give them time, they'll tweak it, somehow will get less complain and will still hurt the game: the whole idea is wrong.
This may be interesting for whomever is interested by balance.
i saw it and it's a good vid along with jcglitchmasters similar vid

As killer, if you think (after waiting an ungodly amount of time in the queue) that the skill of the survivors that you face, and your performance against them, is in ANY WAY related to your MMR or skill level… then you don't understand how several things work.
what i was saying was if you faced survivors who at least knew how to rush gens you were screwed not even good loopers since survivors objective and killers aren't the same
add on more pallet density on top of regression as a whole getting nerfed for a garbage version of pop (pop has been garbage since 6.1.0) second chance perks elusive and the fact that anti tunnel changes along with the anti slug changed (if survivors have basekit unbreakable they won't bother picking each other up since they can pick themselves up meaning survivors don't need to get off gens)
it's an auto lose for killer unless the survivors are so bad their new

I guess the joke wasnt very clear, but Ghost Face wasnt released in this patch. Its just they accidently released the dev build which had a prototype version of him lol
But yeah I will always say PTB Ghost Face was the worst killer in the game. Extremely sensitive reveal which you only needed to look at him for .5 second anywhere on your screen. He made a mapwide audio cue when entering and exiting stealth, cooldown was 30 seconds, stalk built up slower, marked only lasted 20 seconds, Undetectable wasnt a thing so his aura could still be revealed, and finally he had a sort of "lullaby" which sounded like distorted sirens. (hot take, they should bring it back but reduce the range and how loud it is)
you could also hear his cape fluttering in the wind from a good distance so he couldn't sneak up on people either
-
@Shroompy said:
ah yes... 2.7.0... the introduction of Ghost Face- I mean the Endgame Collapse.
I wouldnt mind it, but I feel like theres a lot of things at this point that are still fairly modern. I would say 1.9.3 or 2.0.0 would be better picks since theres a lot of things from those patches that simply arent in the game anymore.
oh i remember when ghostface originally dropped he was really bad

i'll be honest. i don't care about the lore it literally doesn't matter the design, power, and overall strength is way more important than the lore

So I might have a small brain or something but I don't know why people are upset about it. The idea is just saying "hey don't be sweaty and try to spread hooks around" I have played both killer and survivor and I will say I have tunneled once or twice when I was having a bad day. But I don't understand why people are upset about it when basically it's just learn your not gonna get a 4k all the time and a 3k is still technically a win 1k or 0 is a lose and 2 is a tie. So I might be missing something in all this but I really don't understand why so many people are upset with it.
the reason why people are complaining is because of gen speeds being too fast when going against competent survivors since survivors have a lot of resources at the start of the chase they can generally waste them and by the time you down them and hook (not including flashlight/pallet saves) 1-3 gens can pop and the killer cannot catch up without camping and tunneling or using an s tier and that's how it works on live now

Balance also isn't constantly chasing the Survivor who just got off the hook and is still injured and vulnerable, and the Killer has an unfair advantage.
what about the fast gen speeds that make killers tunnel? by the time you finish a chase 1-3 gens pop and you only have 1 hook
how is the killer reasonably supposed to come back outside of using the high tier killers?

Like I said biased and imposible to get into survivors thick skull.
This patch effectively kills Sadako, Trapper, and basically every weak killer out there. (Who represent 90% of the whole killer roster). The patch destroys lore, playstyle and any reward for actually playing well as killer.
Us as players and killer mains, after thousands of hours playing the game (unlike BH) we developed as a community a way to handle the current balance of the game, we realized that a tactic is to slug, a tactic is to tunnel a player. Why? Is not because we want to be evil or annoy survivors, it’s because otherwise there is no competition and no thrill and no progress. We need to aspire to win and be efficient, not just mess around and play around as a npc to entertain survivors, assuring they escape every game.
How many second chances exist right now? How many pallets are there? Perks that allow you to stand up, not get tunneled, healing faster or just repair at an incredible speed. It’s posible now to heal a survivor fully in 5 seconds.
Btw, in competitive killers are not “banned” because they are strong, it’s because in some formats teams pick and decide which they playing. For example Nurse is not handicapped in any way, just allows survivors to use any perk and item. Namely a normal match.I don’t even care anymore, there’s not a single example of something implemented by BH and being well received or even viable. They need to hire real players and actually learn to listen. I’m shocked that after finally sponsoring competitive and seeing how those matches go, they didn’t get at least a bit deterred from all these changes.
Im out. Keep saying to yourself this is a healthy move. Duh
funny part in these normal comp matches the nurse still tunnels and slugs because they can't really win otherwise

So Killer has 1 hook, with only 2 gens left. How are you going to comeback from this? You can't kill anyone before 6 hooks, otherwise your opponent gets buff.
So basically the first chase determines the whole match?

@cogsturning said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3993034#Comment_3993034
I mean, do you usually have a kill at 2 gens done? Because both my killer and survivor matches don't usually have one until 2 or less gens are left. Hookings, yes, but not kills. Someone dead at one or two gens is a really early death and is what they're trying to prevent.
Again, you don't have to have the 6 hook stages. If you bounce back and forth between two survivors and kill one at 5 hooks that way, you don't get the penalty. Like this:
Hook surv 1
Hook surv 2
Hook surv 1
Hook surv 2
Hook surv 1. Dead on 5th hook. No penalty because it wasn't two in a row. Instead of hard tunneling it'll just be stagger tunneling. You just can't target one person immediately and hound them to death.
no you have to bounce between 2 and hook 2 others since the 6 hook penalty is still a thing

Mangled was buffed five years ago lol. You're bringing up half a decade old buffs as "evidence that killers get buffs all the time!!!!!!1111!!"
And Regression Limits killed Surge and heavily nerfed Eruption. You can't use the two perks together, since the two perks activating once each is 3 regression events for a grand total of 22%, only 7% more than kicking it 3 times. Regression limits absolutely affect which builds I use on most killers.
And whining about losing the ability to stop regression by touching a gen is really showing your bias. The fact that it was ever a thing was a massive oversight by the devs. "The killer has to spend 3 seconds making it regress, but survivors only have to spend a tenth of a second undoing it." And the increase in kick percentage was literally 2.5%. That's literally 2.25 seconds of extra progress a survivor has to do. I'd rather be able to make it regress infinitely than waste 3 seconds to get an extra 2.25 seconds from a survivor.
Killer was at its strongest during the Overbrine Eruption meta. It is absolutely much weaker than it was 2 years ago lol.
that's not taking into the fact that base regression is 1/4 a survivors progress also mangled and hemorrhage was rendered useless when they added a timer

Maybe it's just me but I rarely get too upset at my teammates unless they're very obviously being intentional with their decisions. I assume most of the time they're new to the game (which remember, even 500 hours can be considered new with all there is to learn) or they're on auto-pilot.
i wouldn't be pissed if the hud didn't give you all the information that isn't specific location of survivors and on top of all the base hand holding stuff that's not even this upcoming patch
if people want to drool on themselves or are new they honestly shouldn't have a say at all when it comes to balance but the devs are actively destroying a role to auto carry noobs

@stikyard said:
I am mostly a Survivor player, Solo.
I believe that the general mindset for Killer mains is 4K or bust. 2k and 3k is considered a loss. This never should have been the consistent obtainable goal as Killer with 2k and 3k being average or normal. 4k should have been rare and not easy to achieve but 4k-ing has been common. I would say well over half of my games end in 4k. Some of them aren't even close with 4 gens still in play. Killers adapted the slow-down and tunnel strategy because it worked and they got 4k's. Never mind it perpetuated all of the worst parts of the game, doing gens or the poor soul who is getting tunneled out first.
I believe the upcoming changes are somewhat needed as a casual solo player but I can understand how the balance could shift at high MMR with survivor squads. I'm just not sold that is a majority of play.
All that said, I can see that Killer mains will not take kindly to the changes and I highly doubt all the changes will make it to the actual game as originally posted. I would like to see it improve game health but only consistent 4k's will appease the die hard Killer. The mindset is 4k or bust. Anything less is unacceptable.
as a solo player i can tell you solo is bad because of teammates unless you're going against blight or nurse and even then since gen speeds are way faster than it takes to kill a survivor a blight or nurse can get a down at every loop and it'll still be close

You just described why most of my games are already against top teir Killers with the same builds. Because it delivers 4k. I've maybe put in 100 hours as Killer and about 1500 hours total.
the reason killers have the same builds is because 1 gen speeds are too fast so you're forced to use certain perks and 2 every patch/every other patch killer stuff gets nerfed into the ground and new perks that come with new characters are usually garbage or enhances a meta perk (like compass since scorge hook rng is trash)

It's not uncommon for killer mains to have an average kill rate of 70%. Some even with 80%. The concept of "win streaks" should never be possible in a competitive pvp game with mmr. The game just became an ego boost for killer mains where survivors were just supposed to be punching bags for a killer's enjoyment. Survivors no longer wanted to play and were leaving the game in droves. The devs are finally taking action to level the playing field, and now killers will finally see what their true skill level is. In the long run these changes will make the game more enjoyable for everyone though, except streamers who can't boast about 1k win streaks anymore.

I didn't think you understand this mechanic.
Because even if you're tunneling, you still get free BBQ and pop until that survivor dies.
The only time this mechanic comes into play at all is if there are 6 hooks or less total, and the survivor who dies was also the most recently hooked survivor.
So you can literally trade, hook survivors 1, 1, 2, 1, kill someone off, have zero downsides, and get free buffs at the same time.
Just because you can't turn your brain off and follow the first moving thing you see to death without.. strategy... Doesn't mean this is going to have a big impact.
Every single aspect of this mechanic is completely in the killers control.
lol that goes out the window with current gen speeds it just dumpsters the bottom half of the killer roster and just makes the average survivor gods gift to dbd (which they shouldn't) and killers are going to quit

They will for sure fix this loophole by the time this leaves ptb fully.
Even if not only valid strat is to just let them be down slugged for 90s and rotate and find other surv and come back
first they won't second at that point you might as well quit since the survivor has basekit tenacity and unbreakable and won't be in the same spot and also remember survivors are still doing gens while this happens so it's a lose lose situation

Also, about the BBQ and Chilli, they did not mention if there is a minimum range limit to revealing a survivor. So it might be that it will reveal even the survivors that are close to you, making it useful for low mobility killers.
knowing the devs it'll function like bbq instead of floods to prevent camping so you'll leave the hook

Oh okay fair enough then, i still think they can weaponize it to their advantage especially users at higher mmr that already know how to play around being tunneled.
i also think there should be a gen repair speed debuff upon getting chained unique hooks then for that matter since playing certain killers mainly if you are not using blight at high mmr you wont be getting unique hooks anyways.
I main myers and had to rely on making it a 3v1 as fast as possible.
Mainly due to his speed and mobility.
Any smart person who wants to abuse this will run shoulder vigil and intentionally leave people to 2nd stage and slam gens harder than shoulder and the killer gets punished

bbq base is useless it only helps with killers with mobility since they are the only ones who can capitalize on that information unlike an m1 which takes far longer collision removal also doesn't do that much and is wayyyy worse if you're facing a swf
survivors should have never gotten any buffs they honestly should have been nerfed into the ground and making otr base means they can swap it out for some other perk like when bt was originally made base
1 pop is garbage and has always been since 6.1.0 so having a buff to survivors where if a survivor dies to early you auto lose you do realize that survivors can just pre drop and extend chase right not to mention while all this is happening other survivors are doing gens so if you take to long you lose so you're going to get punished for not playing the high tiers exclusively a
also with this base pop it's probably going to be trash because the 8 kick regression still exists btw and survivors can keep pressuring a gen and you lose on top of these changes
honestly reading this you sound like you're a survivor main or haven't touched high mmr

If you agree, please explain why, and likewise if you disagree…
killer has been harder for years but fnaf made it so that people can't quit as easily and because killer objective takes way longer than the survivor objective killers have to slug tunnel and proxy in order to secure a win because killers don't like losing
with the changes preventing dc's survivors just have to put in slightly more effort than drooling on a keyboard and they win way more games

…Just hook someone else first, and then you can go target them. They're not untouchable, they just can't be your next hook if you want to avoid penalties.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3989962#Comment_3989962
I mean, it could be tunnelling, it depends on if you're chasing them as they're unhooked or not.
Broadly though, the "penalty" is pretty minor if you've actually two-hooked everyone. You don't need gen regression at that point, everyone's already on death hook. You're only even in a close scenario if the last gen pops, otherwise you're completely fine.
I'm not saying everything about this system is fine, we can't say that until we know the numbers, but I think that part's fairly elegant. It's a huge penalty if it happens early, but borderline inconsequential if it happens after two-hooking everyone.
if people actually know how to loop or if you go to pallet town where you can pre drop pallets to waste time and there are so many it doesn't matter extends chase time which is bad for killer since the survivor objective takes less time than the killer objective this would be a different story if they giga buffed every gen regression perk across the board to compensate but they didn't

Yeah rotate zone out gens and locate survivors.
Yes i have read the rest of update as it includes bbq baseline and such.
Im still under impression that im supposed to just not touch the person that got unhooked at all until i got 4 unique hooks?
Am i missing the point or what since its written that if tunnel aka go for 2nd hook state on same survivor that was unhook all survivors get repair speed perma bonus
Do i have to let them go or what?
Like generally speaking only thing i can do is let them be slugged now on ground until i managed to find and hook a 2nd unique survivor and let them bleed on ground while i do that under 90 seconds or else they get up?
Same goes if they go afk and purposly camp hook.
Its a bit confusing changes that have plotholes
slugging does nothing because basekit tenacity and unbreakable

Imagine your last hook was Jake, and you're out looking for someone else. Jake comes off the hook, and he's now on death hook, if he's hooked again he's dead.
If you return to Jake and hook him without hooking anyone else in between, you're locked out of regressing and blocking generators.
That's how I interpret it, anyway.
so basically people on death hook can slam gens with no downside. so now you can run a gen rush build and specifically leave them on hook to 2nd stage and the killer cannot hook them again or their screwed also pair this with shoulder + vigil to do it again you can just enforce a toxic playstyle
-
@Jay_K said:
- If a Survivor dies before 6 total hook states, all remaining Survivors gain a repair speed bonus for the rest of the Trial.
- If the Survivor that was last hooked is Sacrificed or Killed, generators cannot be regressed or blocked.
These 2 things are going to ruin the game for killersBefore anyone wants to comment "just don't tunnel" think about it. Killers are now FORCED to play by the survivor handbook and hand free wins effectively to them.
If you kill a survivor too fast then boom free gen progression for everyone. This means your damned if you do and damned if you don't. you kill someone because its the optimal play at the time then woo you got a kill but now all gens are gonna fly a little faster on top of whatever buffs it already has.
Then the way this reads sais that every time you kill a survivor and you find a gen near by thats nearly complete then uh uh uh you can't regress that gen to hopefully stop it popping meaning you have to just sit and wait for whatever timer BHVR decides to put on this (because in classic form no figures are released) and while your waiting other gens are flying.
Now im not saying that tunneling is fine and i agree with the masses that any killer who goes into a game and hardcore tunnels a survivor needs to maybe find another game to play because clearly this isn't the game for them but i can tell you from experience that sometimes you end up tunneling someone just because its the person you find. Not because you have gone out of your way to hunt them down or because you have gone back to hook to tunnel them. Its just the natural way that game has gone..
On top of this killers can no longer see the hook state of the survivors. So if your not taking notes you could end up tunneling without realizing. Even now I will hook someone and think Damn how are they dead what happened. not realizing i had multi hooked them because im just chasing whoever is around.
So please behaviour you need to do 2 things.Firstly you need to give more information because right now assumptions have to be made, and they are made based on previous changes made
secondly more thought needs to go into anti tunnel because based on the dev update these will really harm killers who don't tunnel intentionally and suffer from survivor induced tunneling.wait time out i think i'm illiterate with that last part
>if the survivor that was last hooked is sacrificed or killed generators can't be regressed or blocked
what does this mean? it's vague

That's not adapting, that's spending a perk slot on a guess that something is going to happen.
I'm not opining on the perks or anything, just the thinking that anything that requires clairvoyance can be considered counterplay.
the killer has to do the same thing against more people with the same amount of slots x4 also it is adapting actually because if people are slugging and it's a known problem to counteract this you put on a perk that counters it

That’s genuinely shocking to hear, because this bug enables infinite item usage in a game where resource management is core to balance. Healing, repairing, and sabotage without limits absolutely breaks the core gameplay loop. If this doesn’t meet the criteria, what does? We’ve seen perks and characters kill-switched for minor or purely visual bugs in the past, but a perk that:
- Removes the need to bring charges or efficiency perks
- Turns every item into a permanent power tool
- Has been abused for over a week
...is somehow not game-breaking?
If this same exploit were on the killer side, would the decision be the same?
We’re not asking for bans. We’re asking for temporary action that matches how you’ve handled other broken mechanics in the past. Just be consistent. That’s all the community wants.
These standards are inconsistent and absolutely pathetic for a game studio this large, you go ahead and kill switch Nemesis for because of his Zombies, kill switch The Twins when they had issues, kill switched Dramaturgy when it was causing causing game crashes or unfair movement, but a bug causing infinite items? Nope, that's okay, continue on using it. "The team is aware, it's being monitored, but it is not breaking the game.", sounds like laziness, oh we'll act on it eventually, if we feel like it, meanwhile you have players actively abusing this, for over a week, without any consequence, remove the Kill Switch at this point, it's a pointless feature which you can't even use.
if it was the killer side it would've been kill switched hours into the game when people found out

I was watching a moderately well-known streamer the other day who was saying that Kindred should always be in your survivor build unless you’re a 4-man team on comms. The argument is that it’s so much better than any other perk you could bring because of the information it gives you.
I’ve always considered it to be a “noob” perk and really haven’t used it at all since I was newer player, but thinking about it more, I think he has a good point but with the caveat that it’s really only valuable if your solo q teammates are running it as well and they’re experienced enough to know what to do with the information that the perk gives them.
Curious to know if anyone strongly disagrees with this and if so, why. Convince me that it shouldn’t be in my builds from now on 😉A side note - I would really like to see Kindred become base kit but also some adjustments made to Killer side to compensate if kill rates dropped too much because of it. I think that would go a long ways in bringing solo queue up to the same level as SWF in terms of information advantage.
i use kindred since survivors don't know how to read a hud but once in a while i get that special bunch of survivors that are incompetent even with kindred

Well honestly i dont really consider Dead Hard an anti tunnel perk. It just happens to activate while wounded but it doesn't relate to being tunneled…
i do because when it's successful it extends the chase when q survivor would normally go down

I don't really understand why survivors are able to weaponize OTR by getting in front of the killer when healed and being able to tank 2 hits?
If you are healed to full, you are definetly not being tunneled. I could argue it should be the same for DS.
It is not that easy as "just hit the survivor", as now is not enough to hit them once but twice. Hell if they have DS they can still tank a 3rd hit, knowing that being down will not be a problem at all, while their mate and the original target can keep chaining loops forever.
Its a lose-lose situation for the killer. Also yes the survivor weaponizing the perk is not doing gens, but probably their two mates are. If you keep with the chase it will last a hell tons of time. If you decide to leave the chase then you have already lost time in it and leading into nothing just because the survivor could tank an extra hit that he shouldn't be able to.
The worst part is that im not even trying to tunnel, i am actively trying to get the other survivor but i am being punished by one of the "anti-tunneling" perks.
otr ds dead hard and other perks that activate when hooked should be deactivated when fully healed. i agree with you

And because they can't heal as easily and waste a lot of time compared to SFW's, which is why Behaviour is forced to keep killers weaker than they have to be against SWF's, to balance the books.
bull. we're in a healing meta since healing across the board got buffed and usually people use resurgence which cuts down healing drastically
survivors can't read a hud or they'd be more efficient since it gives swf lvl of information since it tells you
who's in chase
who's healing whether it's self or another survivor
who's doing totems/chests
who's doing gens
the only thing it doesn't tell you is
the exact location of the killer/survivors which survivors can bring aura perks
also if survivors just rushed gens and read the hud the killer can't do anything about it especially since it's a 4v1 they can only chase 1 person at a time (besides nem)

Which is perfect, because both killers and survivors are getting stronger from this update, and it sets a healthier floor for game balancing after as solo's won't be as near at a disadvantage anymore compared to swfs
all you did was give killers a worse corrupt and give survivors big buffs with aura reading
solos are only bad because they don't do gens and can't read a hud to save their lives(literally in this case)

1v1s could be a good way for new players to practice the game.
You get some experience as Survivor and some experience as Killer, both roles. With a heavy emphasis on chase times, you ignore objectives entirely and just focus on lasting as long as you can within a chase.
Honestly, I like the idea.
if new players want to practice they can use customs.

pig back i think in 2017 or 2018?

Name 1 thing you absolutely love about this game! <3
Now…Name one thing that frustrates the heck out of you. (Be constructive for feedback purposes please, do NOT be negative)
- I LOVE the variety when it comes content such as chapters, perk choices on builds, new killers.
- I get really frustrated with bugs. VERY. Especially when they get fixed only to return. They not only take the fun out of whatever you are doing but dampen the experience.
if i get tired of a killer i have a myrad of other killers to choose from
survivors are really strong and the only reason they lose is because they don't do gens which means the game is dictated on survivors throwing
