Unfortunately no. It's just bugged at the moment with Neas head.

Damn that's one of my favorite hairstyles right now. Really channels the Buffy vibe. ;(

Yeah that makes sense. I'm just saying we'll never get a true one piece dress, as these set cosmetics are still always split into pieces, even if we don't have the option to change them.

Even if something looks like a traditional dress, behind the scenes, it's still divided into pieces. It's unfortunate but it is what it is.

If they made sets a separate category then it wouldn't show in either the tops or bottoms and possibly wouldn't be split up. I'd hate to be running around in a dress and having the textures stretch where the skirt meets the top. Butttt with that being said if they can somehow make it tuck in but blend perfectly while keeping them as two separate mixable pieces that would be much better.

When worn together, the two pieces could appear to blend together as a dress. When just wearing the top, they could add a hem to the bottom and the same thing on the skirt they could add a belt when worn separately. That might be a little complex but for the price we pay for these cosmetics its not too farfetched

Wait a dirty lil min... can this also be done with Cheryl's head on her green rarity set? Are there steps on YT or reddit... o_O

These sets are still always split. They each have their own icon and description. The game just doesn't allow you to change them. Here is an example for Aleesa's dress:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7P3KXUMDMF54/screenshot-20200704-233208-samsung-internet.jpg

As you can see, even though we can't split it, the dev's still create them as individual pieces. And the same will be done for Jane's dress. It will be split at the waist, but we just can't change it ourselves.

Yep I know that's why I'm saying I would only understand the reasoning behind it for one piece dresses or similarly complex cosmetics.

    Not defending the current sets.

Yeah, but from what they've shown so far it hasn't shown at all why they need to be linked, not even Jane's or Cheryl's dresses need to be linked, they could be easily split. Maybe if they do something like a wedding dress, but even then making an excuse for a linked set would have to be something REALLY crazy.

When I think of a one piece dress I picture something where the skirt blends seamlessly with the top (no tucking in, no belt separating the skirt, no overlays of the top like Feng's dress). That'd be cool but I still think in that event only the top/legs should be locked and the head should be interchangeable. Dresses that tuck into the skirt or are met with a belt could be split into the standard top and legs like we have seen.

IMO the sets should be a separate category and should only be for complex cosmetics that can't be mixed with others. So for example if you select a one piece dress it will lock the top/legs but you can choose the heads like mentioned above. If you select a complex top that, for some reason, is locked with the head due to the design then the legs should be mixable, etc.

Hell I'm a major fan of customization and not gonna lie for the longest time I've been hoping that they'd make the shoes a separate category so we can mix and match with the legs. But I'm just dreaming at that point

And yet Feng's overly long day off wrap exists and it works fine with her cosmetics, literally none of Cheryl's cosmetics have an excuse for it. Not to mention none of these cosmetic sets look like they benefit at ALL from being forced into linked sets. They all can be separated easily and SHOULD be separated.

Yeah i dunno hopefully this doesn't become a common pattern. Either way, I only find it acceptable if its a ONE PIECE dress or a similarly complex outfit that wouldn't make sense to separate. Either way, whatever pieces that aren't linked within the head/top/legs should remain interchangeable.

XDD. If you want to know how to do this just PM me or something. Its not a cheat or something just a glitch/bug.

I left a comment on your page. Share the dirty deets!! :P

  • If they begin creating one piece dresses and other more complex outfits, I think that's awesome. Although it would still be nice to customize the parts that won't create clipping issues.

Let's consider the possibility that Cheryl's green rarity cosmetics weren't Konami's call to be made into a set and it was done to avoid clipping issues with the long vest and her green skirt. When selecting the vest, make it lockable to the jeans and not compatible with the skirt. However, when selecting the head or legs make them mix-and-matchable with her other cosmetics.

Just saying cause I'm definitely looking forward to the ladies getting some cute dresses. But I certainly hope we get to at least be able to mix and match the heads.....

  • I think its coming later this week

  • The new map is amazing and I enjoy playing on it from both sides. Hope they give us similar maps in the future.

  • Maybe they'll release a big booti set for the PHatass

  • I wanted to buy the Alessa skin just for the hair so I can run around looking like a cheap Chloe cosplay from Uncharted. But since we can't mix and match I passed :P

  • They really love their "sets" huh? First outfits, now requiring the purchase of a bundle to obtain a theme.

    >_>

I just want to wear the dark Jean's and hair with one of her crop tops

That's literally the same outfit I had in mind lol

  • It's a bummer. The hairstyle is awesome, would love to mix and match it with a better outfit.

  • I understand the Lisa skin but other than that we should be able to mix and match her outfits. It's the same character model. Would entice me to buy more cosmetics for her.

Not many games care for customization these days and DBD stands out in that area. Hopefully these sets don't become a common thing.

  • @blue4zion said:

I fear they are now going to make way too many outfits a set. Especially unnecessary ones that could easily fit with others, already the variations of Cheryl are a prime example. Can totally understand the Legendary one though.

Same, I hope this doesn't become a common thing. There was no reason for her alt outfits to be made a set when it's the same character model.

  • I dont know if stingy is the right word... they would make more money if we were able to mix and match. Im not enticed to purchase these sets if I can't customize my survivor.

  • This is a bummer. I get the legendary skins that change the model not being able to mix and match, but her other outfits? Such a shame.

  • Oops just saw other topics posted a couple of minutes ago about the same thing. Oh well at least I'm not the only one on this boat.

  • I got half that lol. Well at least it's somethin

Listen....I understand everyone in the LGBT community wants some sorta "Representation" and "Inclusive" in media but this is not the way to do it....

I don't care for a characters race/sexuality whatsoever because it has nothing to do with the gameplay, when I play a video game I play it for the game not just the character.

Listen I support the LGBT Community but this is pandering this also feels like a "Promotional" agenda and for what? the original "Make them how you see" was the best way because it didn't matter canon or not about how fanfic and shipping's were.

This isn't a "RPG" like Fable or Sims this is a Horror themed video game where survival are the goal/motives and not about their "Sexuality"

Now that I am reading from Facebook/Twitter...the LGBT is being toxic toward those who don't agree with their views (opinions) which is why I think leaving them to the "Fans" was the best idea that or allowing "LGBT" Cosmetics would have benefited perfectly for the community but retconning or adding new lore just to pander doesnt sit or feel right to me and others who are LGBT or are supporting the LGBT.

this is just my two cents how does everyone else feel?

Note: Let's be civil and not toxic and attack others known Opinions.

Note 2: Before someone tries to manipulate my statements, I'm stating I am fine with New Original characters getting their "I am [Insert Sexuality]" what I am against is retconning the existing characters, if its someone new wicked.

Um....Movies/TV series all have had alot of LGBTQ+ representation both main/minor character and where Video games shouldn't be a focus for such things.

It's just that. Representation. For those saying "well that shouldn't be in a game" then you need to reevaluate your standpoint. This is never viewed as an issue when straight couples are represented in games or when a character's story is expanded and hints at their sexuality. I didn't see anyone throw a tantrum when David's ex was mentioned in the archives. That was a reason that the DBD team felt the need to voice this, as they have strayed from their original decision to avoid stating or hinting at a character's sexual orientation to allow players to use their own imagination. They're expanding the lore and many relationships have been explored for several characters already whether it's family, friend, colleague, partner, etc. This is to be expected.

    @Flyguy115 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/160495/the-representation-tweet

I somewhat agree with you , I could care less what sexual preference a character has just please dont shove it down my throat .

Tired of hearing the phrase "forcing their agenda" or "forcing their sexuality down our throats" with a finger pointed to the media or the LGBTQ+ community. No one is forcing you to venture out of your house and hit up the gay clubs. No one is evening asking for you to stand by their side and support them. They want to fit in to society just like anyone else and to be spared from such ignorant remarks that ultimately generate more hate.

    @Yamaoka said:

Why exactly do people care about the sexuality of fictional game characters?

That's a good question that we should ask the ones in here opposed to LGBTQ+ representation. Whether a character's sexual orientation comes to light or not, by either gameplay (not in this case but in other games this is relevant) or storytelling, what's the big fuss? A debate never surfaces when it's a straight couple or straight character.

    @MichaelAMyers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1346464#Comment_1346464

There is no "discomfort" and I asked nicely for no toxicity and this is about creating something new, I am fine with new characters being included but I don't prefer if they retconned/rewrote specific characters.

Were you upset when David's ex was mentioned in the archives? She was never mentioned in his original lore. Either way, it's not a matter of rewriting characters. It's a matter of expanding their story and, if by doing so, a past relationship gets mentioned then so be it.

    Boomeranging back to the OP:

Now if one's opinion is based on discrimination, then needless to say it's best not to share it. You're right in saying that there is plenty of toxicity on Facebook and Twitter and I can assure you that toxic posts/tweets will nearly always generate toxic replies. And I saw first-hand on Twitter plenty of bigots who were eager to attack BHVR and the LGBTQ+ fanbase soley due to their own biased ignorance. It was disgusting and I sincerely hope that these individuals get the help they need. People too stubborn to fix this mindset will spawn children and raise them with the same prejudical beliefs that their parents forcefed them.

And also Jake x David (sorry Dweetie)

  • Nice! Fellow PS4 player here too. Is GF your preferred killer?

  • Yes please

How does Kate get a Japanese fashion inspired outfit before Adam, the original DbD character that ACTUALLY LIVES AND WORKS IN JAPAN? Hasn't been like over 200 days since HIS last cosmetic release? He never even got an ugly Christmas sweater.

He did get his ugly xmas sweater but yes he definitely needs some more love.

  • @ABannedCat said:

I like the top. I always wanted Kate with a off-the shoulder croptop.

However that hat hanging down really ruins it for me. It prevents me from seeing Kate's nice scapulae.

I hate it when the developers ruin potential good cosmetics with such accessoires. They did it with the Summer Music Fest headpiece (the orange shades) as well.

I completely agree. That hairstyle is my favorite for Kate, although I'd prefer it much more without the shades. If only they'd give us some variations when each cosmetic set drops... Maybe we'll get lucky and see something like that in future rifts. I'd love her white tanktop without the biker jacket.

    Apology accepted :-)

  • Imagine those suckers swaying around with the old hair dynamics haha

  • @I_Eat_Worms said:

dbd was way better imo when it wasn't a fashion show and an actual somewhat horror game. even though balancing sucked a lot more back then, if you got a good nonsweaty casual match it was pretty tense. there are a few cool skins (mostly killer) now that can make gameplay feel a little different (like ghostface) but this is just stupid be happy with default hair

By fashion show you mean making it to where you can somewhat customize your character? The only cosmetics that take away from the "horror" aspect of the game are the silly ones that are littered with so many accessories or gimmicks that they are borderline Halloween costumes. Either way, her ponytail needs a good fluff. Now if you really don't care, then what's stupid is you coming in here attempting to start an argument.

I mean are we not gonna talk about Nea and Meg's face? Although I think it's unrealistic to have a roster full of models so I'm glad not all the survivors are attractive. Yui included.

Was waiting for Meg's name to come up. If we're talking about unattractive survivors, she definitely makes the top of the list with her silly default expressive and massive Hillbilly wrinkle burrowed into her brow

  • I don't really care much for exclusives although I don't mind them. I would really like more cosmetics you can earn by unlocking through gameplay. The challenges in the archives are on the right path but I'd like more earnable cosmetics. The rift imo doesn't count as it's based on length of time in a game rather than effort.

  • Let's be honest if someone spent a good amount of money and/or got scammed buying a code for an outfit in a video game, that's their issue. I'm more worried about how they make it through life ๐Ÿคท
