Because they are clearly within the hitbox.
The blue is covering both of them.
The tentacle never touched them, thus they should not be hit. Why would the blue particles around the whip count for the hitbox?
-
In neither of those screenshots did the tentacle touch the survivors. Why do you feel entitled to the hit regardless of the obvious fact that you missed?

From the Killer's PoV the hits are perfectly normal, it doesn't make playing Killer any easier, desync is the issue.
Yes it does. Killer is a whole lot easier currently because survivors are playing way worse from killer POV. If there was no desync they wouldn't take as many loops and would make less risky plays, and therefore would get hit way less. Now even the best survivors are way easier to get because they're used to playing optimal and not using pallets before they absolutely have to. With the current situation playing likes this guarantees getting hit.

You do understand that as killer you're gonna have an easier time the higher your ping is? The reason you cant find the survivors after downing them is because on their screen they're far far away from you and your lag is the only reason you were able to hit them. Lag benefits killers, be it survivors' bad ping or killers' bad ping. That is why some people cheat by VPNing as killer and purposefully getting bad ping.

I mean, I would contest OP, but it's obvious at this point that even my 1k hours with plenty of experience in both sides isn't convincing them.
So I'm not wasting my breath.
We're talking hours now? Spirit requires little skill and is extremely unfun.
-Me with 3k hours and over 5 people I know with 2,5-5k hours.
Like many others have said, as a survivor you simply have to guess her next move. There's nothing more to it. Don't even try to start linking tru3ta1ent's videos, as they don't show anything of value. For reasons why, see Scott's responses to said videos.

No, I just think this picture is obviously fake. Degrading audio and image quality is what fakers do to hide defects in their sloppy work. It's harder to spot defects in an image, audio recording, or video, if the entire thing looks and/or sounds like hammered #########.
Ask yourself: why does the supposed photo looks so terrible in the age of smartphone cameras with auto-focus? Some smartphone cameras can take pictures of the moon that are so clear, you can see individual craters. This looks like someone smeared grease on the camera and had a seizure while taking the photo.
I don't really think this is real, but remember how pig's power got leaked? It was a very very low quality screenshot that was hard to read, but it turned out to be true.

you can ,"walk on it" only if you lunge to it like @bobcat946732 said.
No, you're flat out wrong. Killers and EVEN survivors can walk onto it with no speed boosts. (for survivors it's extremely hard and inconsistent, but doable)
-

It's still there you just have to lunge now; so it's back to the way it used to be.
I think they changed it because it was way too easy to just walk on the hay and make the window useless.
No you can still just walk onto it as killer.

Playing against spirit there are no mindgames. It's still just guessing since the nerf did almost nothing about the real problem.

That's pretty much what he was saying, yeah. He didn't go into detail about why he feels VAC is better than EAC, though - I'll have to ask him about that when I see him tomorrow.
VAC is completely useless against private cheats, as it does not protect the game's memory. EAC is way better, but of course people will find holes in everything. That doesn't mean EAC is bad.

It's my most hated map as killer and as a survivor. Everytime I get hawkin's I just slug all 4 as soon as I can so I can just end the match. It's an incredibly boring map with an insane amount of unsafe pallets, you can practically win every match on it with no power.

Decisive strike - hit the killer causing them to wail in pain and revealing the killer aura to other survivors for 4 seconds. No longer free escape.
Borrowed time - takes you longer to die on hook. You can struggle for 10 more seconds. Boosts struggle points by 100%
Unbreakable - cannot bleed to death and reveals hatch location when downed if it is open. After 10 mins down your aura is revealed to killer
Adrenaline - when gens are done you can heal 100% faster
Dead hard - add more cooldown so no one wants to use it
That brings the perks in line with all the other garbage in the game.
DS - Because the survivors have no idea where the killer is right after he picked up a survivor. (At least I think you mean it would activate after getting picked up)
-
Spirit is pretty much "Press m2 to MInDgaME" and hopefully get a hit. It's low risk high reward.
-
Oh sorry my bad. I misread your post. In that case it could be ok, but maybe a bit too weak if survs only get highlighted over 40m away.
-
That would make the perk too powerful and a camper's best friend.

Did I forget to physically write the IMPLIED "Compared to other killers"?
And yes, I acknowledge curving. Also, no I will not play in red ranks. I am not that sweaty. I am talking about chainsawing someone who is 5m in front of you.
Alright, let's go KYF. I bet you I can juke your point-blank chainsaw more than 50% of the time.

You're aware the charge time doesn't have anything to do with how to actually chainsaw, right? It literally just makes it so survivors need to keep their distance. It doesn't help with steering, it doesn't help with anything other than close range hits.
And I assume you're aware good billies would prefer engravings anyway. They offer highly skillful gameplay as they allow curving and crossmaps. They also have plenty of counterplay, so I actually love engravings, but hate instasaw, coming from a billy & surv main.
-
@ReallyBigShoe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1012820#Comment_1012820
It's not "sort of" possible to juke. It's extremely possible, unless you're caught out of position. In any case, insta saw isn't insta saw. It died with tinkerer.
It's just a faster saw.
It was never "instant", even with tinkerer. It was still "possible to juke". Doesn't change the fact that both the old and current instasaw are for billies who aren't good with their chainsaw.
-
@ReallyBigShoe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1011675#Comment_1011675
Instasaw hasn't existed since tinkerer was changed.
It's literally not a thing anymore.
I call instasaw double charge addons, because the charge time is ridiculously low. It's sort of possible to juke, but wayyy harder than normal, and way too inconsistent. Also, it's very very easy to use.
-
Billy does not need any nerfs other than instasaw. His chainsaw is not easy to use and very plausible to juke. His current chainsaw also allows very interesting gameplay such as curving loops.

Potential changes;
Lower his movement speed while revving the chainsaw. Prevents him keeping pace with survivors without losing ground for as long as he likes while he keeps the chainsaw ready to drop.
Add a chainsaw cooldown, proportional to duration. You use it quickly in a chase, you might get a 5 second cooldown. You charge across the entire map and land 5 meters from someone? You can't immediately rev that ######### on their ass for an easy down.
110 speed. Billy mains LOVE to talk about how highly skilled they are. Well if you're such a god with a chainsaw, then being slower otherwise really shouldn't affect you at all. Simple.
No, the most fun billies are the ones who mostly use the chainsaw at loops and try to curve them. If you were to nerf billies movement speed while revving it would make mindgaming loops with the chainsaw nearly impossible.
Billy's chainsaw can be juked close-range, even the most skilled billies can miss them if you play unpredictably and move well. You can hear his chainsaw from afar so that's an early warning he's coming. At loops if he tries to curve just stop hugging the loop and he'll most likely miss you. The only thing I'd nerf about him is carborator tuning guide and primer bulb.
And yes this is my honest opinion, I don't even watch streamers and I'm in joy every time I go against a skilled billy. I'd be more than happy to verse you or any of your billy friends in KYF to demonstrate the counterplay he has.

Survivors complain about him quite a bit, actually, now they're just too busy taking a dump on the nurse's grave, that's all.
Just search the forum for the keywords "hillbilly+op+no+skill".
With that said, he still gets looped, he still gets ran around the shack/the preschool/Myers' house, he still suffers from DS. And the new maps, wich are a clusterfuck of ultrasafe pallets, god windows, and general clutter that prevents him from using his mobility, are certainly of no help. He is not balanced. He is underpowered. If the survivors are bad, he wins. If the survivors are good, he gets rushed and looped, just like every other killer.
Nope! Me and lots of my friends think that billy is the most balanced killer and easily the most fun to play against.
Also, what are these safe pallets you talk of in any new maps? Most badham pallets aren't too good, hawkin's pallets are really unsafe. Billy also has lot's of counterplay to shack and even jungle gyms, as he can mindgame and curve them.
Only thing that I would change about billy is charge speed addons, since they take lot's of the skill out from both sides. I enjoy going against a curving engraving billy way more, as that requires skill to play as and to go against.

It's pretty simple.. If she's chasing you shes still gonna be following you. Use Spine Chill to tell if she's staring at you while phasing and just keep running her out until she gives up.
Plus since her prayer beads are now global instead of silent most likely people will know to be careful and when she's getting out of phase.
A perk never has and never will be counterplay. And a good spirit can even use spine chill to her advantage, which to be fair is really difficult.
Anyway you didn't answer my question. Just because she's following me doesn't allow me to know her pathing.

Stop pretending to know what's going on behind the scenes. You don't, and neither do I. Also, if you don't realize why spirit was and still will be a problem after the nerf then explain to me how do you know when she is phasing or where she is. And if you can't you're admitting that the only way to "counter" her is to either not get chased or to blindly guess.

Freddy Definitely needs some tweaking, Like you get put to sleep extremely easily and his hit boxes are through the roof! Billy needs a charging up consequence so he doesn't just spam the charge at 99% all the time (same as Leatherface)...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/866076#Comment_866076
Like I would understand her addon changes and adding a slight speed debuff. But the no collision doesn't make any sense. If she was able to collide with another survivor then that's that survivor's fault for not being aware. Heck you don't need collision to be a good Spirit. I just feel like she didn't need a change to her collision in phase.
Plus they nerfed Myers with the undetectable effect cause now anyone with spine chill can hide 100% quicker now than his previous patch.
(Also the only way to counter Spine chill with myers is to have an addon that charges up your stalk fast as heck and have the boyfriends memo so you can lunge)
So in my opinion, They are literally nerfing every killer who doesn't really need a nerf. Especially if they don't need a nerf to their base kit.
@Micheal_Myers "If she was able to collide with another survivor then that's that survivor's fault for not being aware." How is that the survivors fault?? Tell me, how can you be aware of where she is? You still can't tell when she's phasing and you don't have a clue where she is so the core issue is still not fixed with these nerfs

in this scenario even if he wants to slug you to death you just have to wait for EGC to kill you.
If you don't want to wait a couple of minutes for that, you can just wait the ban time ^^.
But you don't even get a timeout if you leave at the end of the match.

Still not a good enough excuse to DC.
How so? If the killer has already closed the hatch and is just standing on top of you for no reason IMO it would be a completely valid time to dc.
-
@White_Owl said:
That's how hit detection works. When the survivor was above/below you were looking at them when starting the attack, that means they were in the "attack cone". When on the stairs instead the chainsaw makes you look above, so the survivor stays outside the cone.
Not saying it doesn't look wonky, but it seems working as intended.
Even if it is intended, I feel like something should be done about it.

I think it's worth it to wait out the extra couple minutes for the BP, ritual progress and emblems. I just go afk so they see the crows and don't get any satisfaction out of it.
If you just want to play the game, I don't see why you should have to wait 4 minutes on the ground doing nothing. Especially if you're playing with friends as you'll make them wait too.

Slugging is no reason to dc. And yes it applies to all players.
What about when you're the last person alive and got slugged and the killer refuses to pick you up? I also think the penalty only applies in the beginning of the match.

Why? Instasaw Billy is a weak billy.
It takes lots of the skill out of the equation. I'd much rather play against engraving billy who is arguably stronger, but offers new kind of counterplay. And besides carborator tuning guide is and addon that makes pretty much everything better, making it fit for pretty much every addon combo.
-
The only thing that needs changing about hillbilly is carborator tuning guide and primer bulb. (and even that isn't incredibly gamebreaking) Other than instasaw billy is the most balanced killer in the game with loads of counterplay and counterplay to counterplay.

I've seen grass move at least.
But if she's standing still, she won't be looking down, since she wants to see where survivors are... and you can blind her then.
I do that consistently.
Well I know plenty of spirits who look down on purpose. As for the grass, there's no point eve arguing this. Go in a KYF and try it for yourself. It does not move.
-
@Raven014 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/811144#Comment_811144
That is just factually incorrect. She does move grass and Corn when phasing. I've seen it whenever I'm on a corn map.
Crows are spooked by her phase. I've had many approaches ruined by them.
It's noticeable when you're at a loop, which is what people complain about.
Flashlights are better on PC than console, admittedly, which is the platform I use.
Most people I've noticed don't try to do this.
And I said that perk is unreliable myself. I list it as a possible counter. But then, a perk shouldn't negate a killer's power at all.
No, grass and corn do NOT move when she phases. This is such a common myth.
And spirit can just look down when she starts phasing so she can't be blinded.
And I bet you that you wouldn't be able to detect spirit starting to phase by her animations restarting more than maybe 50% of the time.

Accidentally hit quote twice sorry and 0 feedback lol k den cause the sound she makes is 0 feedback, she gets 0 feedback by your saying so still very balanced, use your damn ears, she has to guess just as much
Her footsteps are negligible, because you can only hear them after she's too close to you and can already hit you. If you're talking about the whooshing sound well you don't hear that while in terror radius, making it useless in chase. And even when you do hear it, all you know is that she's coming, and then you have to make a guess and go somewhere hoping she won't get you.

I have to disagree extremely, she is awesome to play both against and with, how is she not fun? So far the replies I hear are just bad survivor tears, such as "I don't know when she is coming" like pig, ghost face, T1 shape, wraith "looping is hard to do" git gud, she is loopable, easily, just not the same way as other killers "power too strong" she can't even see you, if injured, it's the same as other stealth killers, they will find you, heal up, in a chase it's the same difficulty as any killer "gen grabs" firstly, open your ears she makes sounds in the phase realm and grass etc still makes sounds when being walked through, secondly, it's a guess for her as too which side you're on, thirdly, stealth killers can do the same but more effectively or do something even better such as exposed.
The main reason survivors are saying it's unfun is because of how rare she gets played and therefore not as easy to adapt as your set ways are stuck to you, she has many counters without perks and many more with, that also help with many killers, she is a mix of everything but not as powerful in each killer type, she can be aggressive, stealthy and controlling but not as effective as trapper in aggression, pig in stealth or legion in controlling
No. Majority of survivors don't like her because the get ZERO feedback on what she's doing, so they're not reacting to anything. They're just making a guess. There's nothing to adapt to, there's nothing to learn.
Scott puts it well, even though I disagree with his proposed change. I suggest you watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZyG29POXJw
