Do you think trapper sack add-on basekit is too strong ? That's what I want honestly, Hag doesn't have to go pick up her traps around the map at the beginning and she has unlimited amount
-
Not a fan of your build, try corrupt-deadlock, maybe pain res and they won't finish all 5 gens so quickly. No way out-noed is strong right now because you will reach endgame against good teams anyway, can't prevent it

The "average dbd player" is not whats in question here. Factually and objectively, when survivors are minimally proficient at their job, the survivors will escape more often than not. Thats the sign of a survivor sided game, and that was the whole point of the "comp dbd" comparison.
Secondly, I'd expect you'd be smart enough to understand that survivor escape streaks are intirely dependent on multiple external factors and often don't show the real picture.
You can lose your escape streak, but the game was a 3 hook game with a 3 man out where the killer stood no chance.
But you're ignoring killer completely in your statement, "minimally efficient survivors will escape more often than not" against what ? against decent Blight/Wesker/Artist/Nurse/Spirit/Plague/oni... mains ? you can find players with massive winrates even with weakest m1s, I think it depends it's not that simple

much less interesting than killer streaks, but they are there
you mean 4 man squad gen rush streaks ? yeah I've seen it it's lame, was talking about solo q streaks

The game is fundamentally survivor sided.
When the game is played even slightly optimally by both sides survivors tend to escape more often than not. This is not something you can argue on since thats what happens in "comp dbd" where both sides are proficient players.
Your whole argument is equivalent to "when survivors dont know what they are doing the game is killer sided"
Killer is very straightforward, chase survivor, down them and hook them , there's not much nuance to it. Hence even a fresh install killer can feel strong against a fresh install survivor but that doesn't mean the game is killer sided.
Interesting you think "comp dbd" is representative of average dbd players, comp dbd is 1% of the playerbase, if you're actually good at killer and you're not playing nicely you can win most games fairly easily, it's everywhere on twitch and youtube killers with hundred of wins in a row
why is no one able to escape more than 10-15 solo q games in a row if game is so survivor sided ? surely you should see massive escape streaks, explain i'm curious. If you're only playing trapper/freddy the game is not killer sided i give you that
-
please give us 4k instantly, when a killer leave everyone get instant 7000 I thought that it was common sense, happened 3-4 times to me and bots can actually loop for a while with their wallhacks it's very boring

Low mmr should never be considered when it comes to balancing purposes.
Low mmr is just 4 survivors that spend 10 minutes looking for a gen and when the killer finds them they don't know looping basics so they last 10 seconds.
Low mmr is not killer sided, its just a hold W race where the guy going 115 is obviously going to win said race.
Game is killer sided even at average level of play, balance is just horribly bad because 3-4 people on voice com is an unfair advantage, if you play solo Q rn your chance of escape is way lower than 50% against decent killers , Idk why people are even arguing with me 500 games is way too small anyway, high mmr or low doesn't matter it's not enough
-
@Alice_pbg said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525278#Comment_3525278
How would you know the mmr?
I said "most likely" it's just common sense, if you send your games and check your stats on nightlight you probably care about Dbd, you're probably not a casual low mmr player, do you realize how small 500 games is
-
It's weird that they don't understand this the amount of bp you get as survivor makes playing feel utterly pointless, especially if you're solo only like me not playing in swf, removing bp from prove thyself was a disgusting change
A solo gen should give 2500 or more, escape should be less than 7000 with more ways to earn survival points, lot of design issues like being chased by a wraith or sadako you're mostly not in chase = 0 points, you're fighting with your team for unhooks... it's really bad overall
-
@Grigerbest said:
Btw guys, if you were paying attention on Nightlight site - Overall kill rate by killers decreased and keep decreasing month by month after chapter 28: End of transmission.
Only 2 killers has increased with killrates tho - Sadako and SM. They have the top killrates there.
Sample size is way too small, take Dredge as example his 56% killrate is based on 495 games, same for Plague, Demo,Trickster, Freddy, Artist, Hag, Twins, less than 500 games... and most likely high mmr games, low mmr is a lot more killer sided
-
Just nerf ftp-buckle up and it's ok really, maybe endurance on made for this is overkill too but other perks like OTR, dead hard, BT are fine
-
I'm not touching solo q even with +100% I still get more BP playing killer, 2x0 is still 0

Oh..you come to the forums, complain how unfair the game is,not your fault...the usual yada yada.
You get applauded and cheered by the killer community, you won't have to worry about a survivor expressing their opinion and calling you out on your lack of skill,as the moderators here will take care of them....or the killer community.
Then in about 2-3 months you'll receive new content, buffs and nice perks while these OP survivors will receive a new skin and some garbage perks...and maybe a nerf.
😂
on topic: Legion and Doctor are great to start imo, you can be awful with them and still farm BP like crazy while learning the game, if you want to learn Blight he's also a BP farmer and strongest killer in the game

TBF, MFT is a special kind of annoying because it's so subtle. It's really hard to tell when it's in effect, and yet it's effect ripples into every single interaction... and the only way the Killer can account for it is to delete all existing timings and assume everyone has MFT.
Every loop around a pallet, every mind game, every break off to a new loop, MFT affects everything... Every single other perk you've mentioned there either gives a benefit that the killer can see and react to, or doesn't alter the Killer's gameplan/timings significantly... but MFT is a general paranoia that messes with your timings and makes you question everything that you do, so it's unbelievably hard to learn how to deal with it, because you simply can't tell if it's just someone juicing you with pure skill, or if it's MFT, or both.
The fact is, Killers play Killers that are fun to play, and MFT is a generally annoying perk that killers don't wanna deal with by unlearning their timings to account for it... this paranoia around MFT is a pain in the ass that nobody wants.
So the reason MFT gets the hate it does, is it's a far bigger slap in the face for the Killers that are already not good in chase. A lot people don't bother playing killers weak in chase like Pig, Trapper, Nightmare, etc, because chase and map presense is King in DbD, and instead they just go for your Blights, Spirits, Nurses and Weskers. the fact MFT exists furhter encourages these killers because, unlike their weak chase counterparts, they don't have to care about MFT.
So if you're someone who already doesn't play the big 4, because you like playing other killers, MFT is basically a constant reminder that you should be playing the Killers that don't care about it.... which I don't need to tell you is very frustrating to accept.
I don't disagree but both sides of the coin have to be considered, are you ok with save the best for last or coup de grace, or next alien perk rapid brutality ?
These perks massively mess with distances and timings, if I want MFT deleted and I'm logic with myself then I want these perks deleted too

Does everyone remember when BHVR went to these forums, and was super excited to let us know the super exciting news, of an exciting new feature for survivors, that survivors should be excited about? And there was much joy, and survivors felt like BHVR appreciated them? Survivors got a HUD, a visual terror radius, hook grab removal, an anti-camp project for the future, and an anti-3-gen project for the future, and all of those things are 100% for the benefit of survivors. Even the survivor DC bots are primarily for survivors, because it raises the survival rate.
Does everyone notice that BHVR doesn't ever do this with killers ever? Where is the exciting BHVR announcement for killers, where BHVR rushes to these forums to let us know about an exciting new feature for killers, that should make killers thrilled and excited? We only have an announcement for something related to FoV, with zero previews or teasers, and no one from BHVR rushed in to tell us how excited they were that killers were getting this new feature. Where are the other projects for the benefit for killers? What other new features can killers look forward to?
They nerfed survivor hard in 2022 but ok sure, what if HUD and hook grab removal is an answer to extra high killrates ? MFT is strange because they never release good survivor perks, I think it was a direct answer to high killrates too. Btw next alien chapter is 100% for killers, the survivor is really bland with forgettable perks
killer is already in a good spot it's just not that fun to play, how do you fix that ? They can't buff killers much more without ruining the game for other side

The game hasn't gone downhill. It's when the playerbase decided to move to a more competitive, optimal and meta-absorbed mindset and moved away from just enjoying the game, exploring and having fun.
The strive for having to be known as an amazing player to a point where, if they go through a rough patch, it is everything else which is the problem and not them. The need to follow their favourite YouTuber and only use what they use. The game needs the fun back and, for the most part, the tools are there. Some changes could be made, but I'd put the main reason down to the shift in mentality towards it.
You can't blame playerbase for everything, bhvr said in patchnote that they were "fighting tunneling and camping" then buffed both immediatly after to increase killrates, they also failed with gen rush they are still as fast. It's their fault for focusing on imaginary balance that will never exist in dbd instead of making the game fun for both sides
TCM devs have already said they're focused on fun not balance, that's a smart approach
-
I don't know about basekit but would be nice to delete that stupid massive bubble when someone is hooked, I never use kindred because I can't see killer aura for 3-4 seconds with that thing, it was not like that before
-
Still don't know why a full solo gen gives 1250 BP, 5 solo gens gives 6250 ?! If you're the gen jockey in a game and someone else is tunneled you never get pips, the game punish you for doing objectives
what's the point of removing bp bonus from prove thyself if you let a full gen at 1250 bp ?

I didn't mean for EACH hook, just the first hook counts.
So 3, 6, 9 and then 15% once all 4 are hooked for the first time. Not for every hook.
Who cares ? People will always choose easy free wins and a quick 3v1, killer incentive doesn't work especially a minor one like "15% repair speed". Only way is to make anti tunnel perks scary again, I don't even know how DS is still at 3 seconds 1 year later devs are really clueless
-
OTR/DS are both useless perks so why not ? Tunneling is free atm nothing can stop it
-

I see tunnelling in my survivor games 1 in every 10-12 games, and majority of those games are a survivor loss. Most of the killers I face seem to have no issue winning without tunnelling.
that's low mmr gameplay tbh, if you win enough on killer you will get teams that finish all 5 gens very quickly, even with decent short chases you literally cannot win if you're not tunneling, only exception is blight he can play for 12 hooks

That would also be a bad idea, imo. What you want from using the drones in chase is to set them up ahead of time and chase survivors into them, the whole "shut down loops by pressing a button" thing is the biggest problem with Knight and Artist right now. I don't think we should make more killers that can do that.
Her counter would be holding W or if she's out of drones same than artist yeah, I take that over a 50 min 3 gen game. It's subjective really maybe just rework her completely not many people care at this point
-
She's too strong they can delete either exposed or haste effect, then make her drones more instant they have a weird delay atm and they don't go where you want them to go, make drones more useful to shut down loops and less useful on gens
-
"if you disagree you're bad at the game"... okay strong argument, he just called Otz bad but at least his 20 min video had some explanations, not just "you bad lol"
-
It's overrated WoO is way stronger than mft, BHVR will nerf it and it's not going to change anything. You will get lobbies with 4 lithe/SB and gen efficient teams will still win easily
Idk why people are so focused on mft instead of gen speed, clown bottles and freddy snares are -15% it's not even good, average survivor get zero value from that perk they try to greed a pallet and die
-
If you're new Legion is fun, Clown and Wraith are good too, easy/effective
-
You're right I play exclusively solo and I feel the same way, solo Q is unfair and killer vs 3-4 people on voice com is unfair too, if you're solo it's lose-lose in this game
-
He's probably like trapper still has decent winrate because he's 4.6ms and you can play him without using power much. Remember last killrate stats Pig, Freddy and Sadako were top 5 at 60+% killrate and Nurse was lowest so it doesn't say much

You can turn your head down or up and problem solved. Even with best addons you can't get longer blindness then 6s.
Actually chain blinds are very important in case of flash save - without it, survivor will not get much distance and will probably go down again within a few seconds. But with chain blind (while animation-locked), it's possible to basically reset chase, or sometimes even make killer swap targets. That's one of the last defenses against hardcore at 5 gens tunnelers...
I don't see the link with tunneling, maybe just make actual anti tunnel perk useful like DS, chain blind has nothing to do with it
-
anyone else think chain blinds are not necessary ? with duration add-ons it's so obnoxious, like just one blind is enough imo, blind screen for 10 seconds is pointless ..they can start by deleting that before lightborn nerfs
-
He just thinks perks that mess with distances are unhealthy and I agree, if complaining about MFT is normal then it's reasonable to complain about coup de grace, you can't do anything and you go down it's not particularly fun
-
He has good add-ons to counter turrets, ripley's watch automatically destroy turrets (common grey add-on), some yellow add-ons decrease flame distance, increase resistance to stagerring and increase respawn timer for turrets. Even then you can still get m1 hits most of the time because you're steathly, singularity is far worse
-
Multiple streamers/youtubers have 500+ winstreaks but yeah game is survivor sided... You can still lose a lot as killer if you play nicely but if you really try hard, use perks like no way out/NOED and tunnel hard winning is easy, not to mention average survivor is not that good, killer is easy against average teams it's a fact
-
I don't see why sadako can ignore pallets it's so skilless and stupid, Wraith has no instant mori at 0 hooks or TP every 10 seconds yet he's stunned by pallets when invisible, let her being stunned like everyone else thanks
-
I don't think so some of us play solo q for hours, they don't know what it's like to endure all the bs. Average play session is annoying as hell. New sadako with slug builds, skull merchant, 5 blight/wesker in a row, boring facecamp killer every few games, legion/plague with 4 slowdowns, hard tunneling meta...but can't complain about anything because it's vAliD StrAtegiEs
I hope tcm game steal some players and force them to improve, it looks bad but maybe it could compete for a while
-
They're really obvious you can't catch up even when they're healthy, I had one teleporting everytime I downed her. Just dodge p100 Neas hackers love that character for some reason
-
Yeah tunneling has never been stronger, OTR is useless against actual hard tunneling because it's disabled with same hit than basekit BT, then you got DS but it's just very sad, I've never seen someone use it and live more than 5 seconds

Because there are situations where the survivors give you every reason to camp someone out. If I hook someone and all 3 survivors swarm me around the hook, then guess what I'll do?
I'm not going to run across the map and wait for them to reset and remove any pressure I have on them. The same is true when even 1 survivor is obviously near the hook. 2 survivors are not progressing faster than I am in that situation. When all survivors are injured and I have someone on a hook, then why wouldn't I camp them? Before they can even attempt to get an exchange they will need to heal.
By nerfing tunneling and camping you also make the survivor role more forgiving for mistakes because you take away any possibility for the killer to capitalise on their mistakes, which incentivises them to play even more reckless. This is already a problem. I've seen a lot more Deliverances over the past couple days. Why could that be? Surely it's not because they can simply rush the hook, get an unhook because I can no longer stop them and get their Deliverance for free, is it?
The funny thing about tunneling is that right now it's stronger than it has ever been. Because instead of healing, they'll rush gens with Resilience, which also takes away the possibilities of a safe bodyblock. Instead of running DS and OTR there are a lot MFTs and WoOs. Basically survivors try to progress their own objective as fast as possible and completely ignore any defenses they might need. 1 year ago before 6.1.0 killers actually had a risk when tunneling someone. That risk is no longer there. And that is to a degree on the survivors themselves, that make it so easy and so much more necessary.
Okay fair enough, everyone is proxy camping/tunneling anyway it's the meta, I was talking more about actual facecamping like staying in 5m radius of the hook with oneshot characters, just played right now against a pinky finger clown facecamping you can't even trade it's a bit cringe, imo even if they do nothing against camping they can at least deactivate chainsaws and exposed effects
-

I don't know why they're rewarding killers for playing as scummy as possible, I play against facecamping noobs they still get 3-4ks sometimes, equip deadlock-no way out- noed ou you'll get 2k+ guaranteed if you have half a brain
how can you play this rn and think "yeah it's fun and balanced we did a good job, survivors are still a bit too strong tho they only die 70% of the time, nerf mft"

Blight mains... please change my mind in a custom or something. All these addons, slide/collision techs... Meh, Blight is still Mid tier .
Solo survivors will get wrecked naturally, but even Trapper can do that.
"Mid tier at best" lol, he's stronger than nurse after her add ons nerfs, not always but more consistent for sure, he's the only one that can reliably 12 hook everyone and still win games with his mobility and short chases. Tunneling with him is free win, easily best killer in the game

If the player feels like their time is being wasted they can just give up and go next.
All the killer is doing is playing the game. But people put arbitrary lines in the sand where you are only allowed to wanna win "this much" "more than that and you are weird", just let people have their fun...
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3516371#Comment_3516371
To avoid a single survivor hiding in the corners for 20 minutes.
Also why egc exists.
So playing the game normally is obnoxious to you?
You are also not gonna die if you just let the killer get you... but you want the escape. The killer wants the kill. Same thing.
It's on everyone involved in the game if you think that's cringe, not just the killer.
I'm happy if I get 3k it's a win, unless last one is in front of me when I down 3rd why would I care ? you're playing a video game it's not that serious especially dbd, if you're ready to slug and waste 5min+ to find last one you're just obnoxious yeah
if someone do it I just assume they got rekt hard previous game, desperation is a good word

The biggest problem is matchmaking IMO. There's too many cases of survivors being in lobbies they have no business in. An insane survivor is very hard to tunnel since they will bring nothing but chase oriented perks and be very good at looping to begin with. I just watched a 4000 hour clown hard tunnel a survivor with 600 hours at five gens in a game that wasn't even close. What I want is for Behavior to tighten up the matchmaking and stop catering to sweaty killers who want easy games. People who play like their life is on the line should only be getting matched with SWFs. They shouldn't be able to terrorize the general population who stands no chance against this type of playstyle. Sweats should play against other sweats exclusively and nothing can convince me otherwise.
Anti tunnel exists and it's not useless. People just refuse to bring the perks for whatever reason. I've caused countless proxy camping tunnelers to lose games just by having OTR in my loadout. People who I see being tunneled rarely have it equipped. In most cases it would greatly extend the chase unless the killer is literally facecamping.
Matchmaking is bad yes but I don't think OTR makes a huge difference against average blight, wesker, nurse... If we're talking about actual hard tunneling your OTR will be gone with basekit BT so having it or not is literally the same thing, then you can run DS on top of it but current version doesn't do anything
yeah you can make a trapper waste more time if he tries to tunnel you but that's it, average survivor(even decent ones tbh) will not last very long against stronger killers
-

I mean it'll still happen but it will lessen it. And how would you mechanically change the game to discourage it? Co ordinated swfs already have a pretty easy time of things right now, if you speed up gens the problem gets worse and it will cause more tunneling/face camping. If you drop gen speeds then solo q and lower mmr survs will have an even worse time of it.
Basekit DS or make them a ghost after unhook if really serious about fighting tunneling, then slowdown gens and balance it for more hooks, it's just ideas but you can do many things, I take a simple DS buff too because current one is just useless
-
Even killer mains in this forum were saying the same thing after 6.1, only thing needed was to make it 6 stack max or 8 stacks x4%
