Killers abandons need to stay under strict conditions until killer bots are added
only due too if the killer abandons the match just ends for all the other survivors even if they wanted to say in.
If the survivors abandon there is at least bots the killer can play around with if they want too or they can leave and go next but its there choice
Only way to open up more abandons oppurtinies for the killer is adding killer bots so then survivors can decide to stay in vs bot or leave. -

Ideally you solve it by bringing solos up to par with SWFs and nerfing survivors as a whole or buffing killers as a whole.
There are also changes i would do to the game that would nerf survivors at a high level while not hurting the lower mmr survivors.
But i never said any of that. My point is simple. If one thing is a problem because of what high skill players can do with it, then whats good for the goose is good for the gander and by DEFINITION you must also believe the other is a problem.
My point is, the same people who complain about blight, which really only matters when going up against a really good blight (or nurse for that matter) also think its fine that high MMR SWFs can dominate the game. You can't want to nerf one without nerfing the other or you are biased.
I agree with overall point as I'm someone who really wants things such as a comm wheel and seeing perks in lobby for better coordination but I think a lot of killer players would dislike the change as survivors would have more coordination overall
I understand your point but I don't have that view and don't think SFW should dominate the game. no side should dominate the game.
And if anything the speed ad ons specifically for blight lower the skill floor for him. don't got to be strategic with bumps because you are just so fast. -
@Reinami said:
The same people who want blight nerfed, are the same people who say that its rare to go against really good SWFs and because they are rare its fine that survivors can be OP at the highest levels.
If you don't think those are a problem, than neither is blight because it is just as rare for you to go against those cracked blight players as well.
Bhvr cannot do anything about SFW as they are using third party clients such as discord, Blight on the other hand is internally in the game and BHVR can fiddle with it way more easier. I play solo q and get a fair amount of double speed ad on blights.
genuinely curious tho what you want done to addresses sfw because they are using comms outside of the game that's hard for bhvr to do anything about.
only thing I can think of is you could show in lobby who is sfw but that would lead to lobby dodging and would only be fair if survivors could do the same then nobody would get into a match. (perfect exapmle is TCSM the game, you could see who was sfw in that game and so often people would lobby dodge. -

Well the Speed of the Gens are the main reason i Tunnel all the time. You just dont get alot of time to spread hooks
The tunneling gone up because the Gen speeds got worse every patch.
If you dont believe me then play Killer and only killer for a week or month straight.
I don't think anything effecting gen speed has been buffed this year. I don't think we have even gotten a new gen perk unless you count one-two-three-four which gives skill checks more often.

I like it when it happens. I didn't even think they still did it until update because we didn't get one with the walking dead map

He could also use some base kit changes but speed ad ons being changed shouldn't be controversial for them to do which is why I'm asking for it. -
I honestly think it was just the vocal minority leading the discourse.
are they annoying? Yeah they can be, so are plenty of killer builds should we nerf them too. -
I've been running shoulder to burden in solo q to try to combat the hard tunnelers atm and its wild to me I've had two killers just ignore me while exposed to go after the person I just unhooked 😂

Some maps are completely lacking of constructions. Some of them build in a way only to be on edges, some inly in middle. And fillers still should be playable, it just should be less of them but with better quality.
I think less people complained on current maps if there were more consistencyYeah that's the main issue I've noticed with the pallets it would be ok if the fillers where weak if we had a fair amount of jungle gyms in the map that where not just in the corners of the map.
Yamaoka Estate Family Residence from what I tested was spawning 4-5 jungle gyms spread over the map which I think is fair
meanwhile Temple of Purgation only had two jungle gyms each in opposite corners of the map when I tested in customs. -
Nowadays her power isn't the thing that makes me not like her its just her design I dislike, nothing to be annoyed in match over but yeah.
I want to verse killers that are scary/ supernatural elements like the majority of the cast. I understand her design in based on a manga her dad made or something but could of been so much cooler then just a chick in a diamond mask. -
I had this glitch today with huntress, every time she would pull up hatches they would make no sound cue like they normally do (steam/PC player)

Far too many survivors are being extremely hostile, toxic, and rude to killers just trying to play the game. I'm tired of every single game being another cycle of a SWF being on comms or a bunch of people on PC spinning at mach ten and i just can't keep up. And after getting dogged for 10 minuets; After having to kick over 15+ pallets, having to kick gens, trying my best to even sorta pushback, guess what i get? Survivors that would rather sit there at the gate for the ENTIRE ENDGAME BAR, tbagging, pointing, and otherwise humiliated me when these people spent 7 minuets holding 1 button and occaisionally clicking 2 or 3 at any given time. Killer should be the harder role to play, but not the harder role to tolerate playing. This is a game after all. Killer anxiety is a hardcore problem among longtime players. Although if we had a way to ACCURATELY report things that happen throughout the trial, maybe more than just once? and not just the 5 same options we've had since 2016; we could cut back on the immense toxicity ruining the game with, well, y'know, a NORMAL REPORTING SYSTEM. WHERE WE MAY TYPE WORDS. I'm genuinely considering quitting the game for good because not only has the entire fundamentals of the game gotten faster, the survivors are getting more pushed in power, the amount of killer perks that are viable are dwindling, and lest we forget we just gave survivors a way to double sprint burst? I give up. I give. I'm gonna become a blight main.
I'm trying to understand better what you are wanting changed with the reporting system
Are you wanting a reporting system that would allow reporting people that teabag at the exit gates? -

All I hear anymore is entitlement and whining after the update
Should we remind players this is a Competitive game and always has been. Players have the right to play a game how they want mainly if they paid for it.
If Tunneling isn't allowed in a Competitive game then Gen Rushing isn't allowed either. I know players will say Gen Rushing and Tunneling is two different things or Tunneling is easier than Gen Rushing/ Gen Rushing is easier than Tunneling. It doesn't Matter there both Rushing a Objective to get it done faster and are needed strategies to make the game to function like a Competitive game.
Why do you see these strategies in competition games. They use them to win.
These strategies are not as bad as getting told to end urself over a video game. Its not as bad as being harassed for a whole month because you made a player upset.
QOL is supposed to be improving the game for players without making others miserable. Ive known that for years even before I even started DBD.
This game has been split apart long enough by because by the end of the day we are all playing the same game.
If you dont get that. Than this games truly dead after all.

The initial penalty (this 5m one) should only be triggering after I have DC'd three times within the last 20 matches, based on patch notes/statements from BHVR. Was this changed and never stated? did I miss something?
I also know for a fact that it's been well over 20+ games, because I track every game that I play.
Anyone know why this is happening?
Platform is PC Steam. No instructions or the like, its as simple as.
Just happened to myself, I dced because game decided to put us in a server where everyone was 200 ping and got hit with 5 min penalty even tho i haven't dced in well over 20 games.

It's been two days, that'd be kinda quick to hear back from pretty much any developer.
From the dev's perspective they've only barely had time to sift through the responses and evaluate them to see if they're legitimate, I wouldn't expect communication from pretty much any dev until at minimum a week has passed personally.
I don't expect it to be fixed right away but at least something like "Hey we messed up with this live release and plan on fixing it" before trying to announce the next DLC for us to buy.

I do feel like while slugging in general was fine, specifically slugging to deny hatch was absolutely not. If there's two players left, they should get unbreakable to stop people from denying hatch.
I also don't like what they did for tunneling, instead of 15 seconds of endurance that people more often than not just use agressively, they should give you 10 seconds of 50% haste, 5 seconds of endurance, and no scratch marks. That would make actually getting away from hook and healing much more feasible. That honestly sounds like a great change for slugging
because 4 man slugs you can just abandon now.
imo the biggest annoyance in slugging is that slugging for hatch scenario, making it if there is just two people left it works sounds great, with a timer before it activates of course to avoid it being abusable -

On here there was a response from BHVR to a similar question, essentially stating that they are in the "listening stage" right now. I assume that means we're gonna hear about pallets and some of the more disliked changes later down the line. Although, I fear with the recent announcement of Stranger Things 2 that we are not going to hear about fixing the issues of this game until late December or whenever the PTB hits and the devs do a livestream :(
I don't know how they need a listening phase just go back to what we had before they tried to touch pallets this year. They are slack for not getting on top of it now, and announcing stranger things 2 a few days after they released a horrible update seems like they are wanting people to just forget.

Well people still bring Med Kits althrough many people claimed they are dead after the self healing nerf.
Someone who was sweaty all his DBD carriere won´t swap instant to a new Killer.
My personal hope is the following.
You are a OTP Nurse main. But from time to time it gets boring. So you pick up something new like Ghostface.
Now there are two outcomes:
- You have a fighting chance and you see you don´t need an S+++ tier killer to win a game
- You get completly destoryed, not by your lack of skill but by the game itself telling you "Yeah buddy this killer sucks" and you go back to nurse.
Personally the few times i play Killer i only play the weaker once, since I am unable to do flicks and I am dogshit without a crosshair.
Sweaty people will always play sweaty and maybe you are much higher in your MMR than you think.
I just wish i saw more variety
Last point about MMR may be true only based on team mates. (I dunno how to only quote part of a message)
I seem to get better teammates in soloq then I see most people complain about, its rare to see someone just doing nothing and most of my matches people will be useful while you are in chase, and if there is a bad teammate tends to be just one person on the team. -

Two Legions and Deathslingers was a surprise, I must say. And yeah, two SMs in one day, which is more than I've seen in probaly 300 matches. Not saying it went great for them, but they were present.
Glad others are getting a variety !
Out of last 30 matches (some matches where playing as killer as Billy)

Before you bombard me for the title (I think they will remove it annyway) lest just focus on the pallet issue, there was some tike ago pallet density update that should have fixed map like haddonfield and put there more pallets so there are not so huge dead zones and the map is balanced but they somehow increased the pallet numbers on many maps that were survivor sided or mostly balanced or very little survivor sided but balanced mostly and put there more pallets so zones that were impossible to fail in looping were created. Now they reduced number of pallets and made many loops shorter in new patch 9.3.0 so it seems that devs are treating both killers and survivor equaly or am I wrong about the equal treating part (now this is about pallets not nurse and medkits) ???
I think a more apporaite wording for your post would be centrist rather then feminist with points you are making
-
@Blueberry said:
The loops are in a weird spot. Like how do you make them playable with the pallet up, but still playable with the pallet down? It's hard to do.
Like a lot of these loops right now look too unsafe with the pallet up, but seem fair once the pallets down. If you make them safer with the pallet up, now they're too strong with the pallet down.
Before all these pallet changes the majority were safer with the pallet up still, but that made most pallets just auto breaks once thrown, you weren't playing most of them with the pallet down because they were too safe, that's bad design too.
Is it just a lot of pallets, but they require being thrown to play mostly? I don't really know the solution here.
Also, while many of these loops seem too weak for high tier killers they seem fair for all the weaker m1 killers, which is most the roster. The previous pallet iterations were all unfair to m1's. Idk how we balance for both these groups. If anyone has ideas I'd love to hear them.
The most logical thing i think could be done outside of nerfs to top tiers is they need to base pallets on the killer you are playing, a blight the spawn logic will give you more loops and pallets to work with as a survivor
where as if you are versing a M1 killer the spawn logic on the pallets would be reduced compared to blights so they are not as swamped with pallets.
But with how updates have been going, I don't think it could do correctly and there would probably be odd picks about what killers get high and low spawn logic so don't have hope it could be done correctly -

After all the hours wasted trying to nerf killers even further where have they moved the ping page?
Please don't tell me this is some more information BHVR are hiding from us, where is it?
On PC you have to press Tab in a match now, i don't know about other consoles but pc seems to have it remapped
-
I don't see a issue with it.
for one its taking up two perk slots, half of the perks you can bring now stuck on just gen perks
If the killer is a low terror radius killer, (eg Myers Wraith) stake out is not going to see any stacks
and since they are two gen perks, if the killer decides to chase you, or even tunnel you out of the game, those perks see no value.
now compare too deja vu which I see way more commonly , you get the gen speed bonus and information so even if you get chased all game you can use the information given with aura to chase away from 3 gens as well as just working default not dependent on skill checks or the killers terror radius, IMO deja vu is much more useful then this combo when used by the average player -
I've personally played a fair bit this morning checking out the update but its just so bad, they absolutely need to just revert pallets back to before pallet density.
-
@tes said:
It was a bad idea to revert them back, because at that state it still had many problems for both sides.
They fixed survivor issues related to maps in pallet density update. The best decision was just looking at RNG logic and adjust every map in specific way.
But they overkilled it. Because this community tends to be over emotional with anything, while devs still can’t build the way to filter feedback properly. I’m not surprised tho since they did absolutely same absurd with pallet density first time, Legion from 2vs8, SM, anti tunnel/slug and fog vials.Honestly, I feel developers are burn out. Maybe such a terrible quality goes from roots of community never being satisfied, but I just can’t find the reason to give a vote for Labour of Love to somehow motivate them. Pretty sure others as well.
Reverting them would of been so much better then what we have got.
I agree with your take but they should of been reverted until we gotten a PTB to test it before it went to live so they could take time on it and show us before putting it in live
At this stage the game just needs to stop new releases all together, fix already existing things in the game. that's what last 6mth meant to be about but the game is worse imo then start of year. -

I wasn’t saying the pallet density was a good change but god damn BHVR this is overkill there’s barley anything on the map
Killer mains over ran the forums with whining about the pallet update "woe is the m1s" so BHVR has gone overkill.
I agree there needed to be changes but not like this.
get ready to be swamped by ghoul and blight in the majority of matches to cater to killers that you don't even see. -
2. I agree with
1. as another commentor said they cant do much about, the best they could do is allow us to see exact ping in lobbies, if its too inconsistent we can leave the lobby
3. they just need to stop the map weighting, there is no reason why some maps should be more likely then others outside new maps being showcased -
As a previous comment said the exact problem is two ptbs where supposed to be surviour updates but now the update is leaning more on the killer side.
It's a slap in the face to surviour players. If the reversed happened, two PTBS in a row it was promised changes to toolboxes where coming, only to then buff the toolboxes and scrap the other changes that would nerf them it would be complained about all the time but when surviours do it they are bad
That is what has been done with tunneling a update that was supposed to mitigate it is now looking like it will help it (seeing the hook counters on screen, allowing turn brain off gameplay go for whoever has more tick)

The bias is real.
- You didn't mention they increased the hook timer.
- Franklin was gutted for absolutely no reason, the only counter to items.
- Abandon features ONLY benefits Survivor, as they can easily pop out and 'win' by their flawed system.
- Pallet density is only getting reverted in most problematic maps that don't need it at all. (Double pallets, etc.)
- Go next prevention is a BUFF survivors by forcing players to play out the match, not ######### on the first hook, dooming all other survivors.
- Survivor having 5s longer endurance/haste for getting off hook. Anti-camp is still going through.
- Shoulder the Burden, one of the most broken perk when used by SWF.
- Ghostnotes pairs perfectly with Vigil/Sprint burst, a perfect braindead build.
Some of your buffs are not even a thing yet, like healing nerf?
Mb i was genuinlty thinking off top of head but some of your points are not buffs
- hook timer i missed EDIT: hook timers where 2024 after looking it up so not this year)
- Franklins ive also missed
- the abandon feature is not a survivor buff, its a QOL yes but its not a buff that effects gameplay as the match is lost when its active.
- Ok so pallet density is still in small number of maps, wouldn't exactly call that a buff in majority of matches but i will grant that as overlooked
- go net prevention is not a survivor buff as those who want to leave will sandbag or afk regardless, and my point in adding it to surviour nerf is that why isn't there a killer equivalent when they decide to give up and stand at gate? its the double standard
- anti camp is not going through, the only benefit survivors get from it is seeing the anti camp meter granted it is a buff range is being reverted we got longer endurance but best anti tunnel perk was nerfed so its more a trade.
- shoulder to burden was 2024 or would of have more of a list,
- I tried to avoid mentioning perk pairing and stick to just perks in general or buffs or nerfs or else the list would just go on and on for both sides.
so I missed two - three valid points thanks for pointing it out
Edit: yeah decided to complain about medkit nerfs early, seems to work out when killers do it on here cough cough vog vials -
there are wall hacks in the base game its not just a reshade thing, if you play on low settings you can just see red stain through walls its been a bug for a few updates and still happens (very noticeable for me as i play on low settings due to low end pc)

@Carth said:
Okay let's apply the same line of thinking along the inverse.
Yeah maybe buffing all of the low tier killers will hurt solo queue without any other changes, but who cares. Most killers aren't facing a 4 team made up entirely of solo queue, there's at least some level of swf in terms of duo, trio, or quad. Based on that the calls to help solo queue survivor are reasonable but honestly we should just buff the low tier killers and THEN buff solo queue to match. I'm assuming that sounds like a terrible idea though, right?doing it the way I wanted killers will still have potential, they just wont have top tier levels of potential such as blight and ghoul. They may have to adjust standards, but you will still be able to win the majority of matches if you play good and have a good build.
Doing it that way solo q survivors will still have to suffer under top tiers swamping matches and survivors wont be able to just change the killer they are playing because survivors are one thing with multiple skins -

Nightlight data is trash and has been for a while. It also currently shows The Game as being the fifth most deadly map or fourth most deadly since one of the maps shown isn't actually available outside of custom matches (badham 3, another great example of how bad the data here is). Are you going to agree with it that The Game is a killer sided map?
https://nightlight.gg/maps/viewer?sort=kill&shown=pick%7Ckill%7Cdist&start_days=28
On the actual topic at hand, the highest tier and lowest tier killers need the most focus, they need the most balancing. One of the best things we can do to nerf the high tiers is to nerf tunneling. If you get tunneled out by a trapper that is a skill issue on the survivor, if you can't tunnel out someone as blight/nurse, that is a skill issue on the killer. The argument that we need to keep tunneling for the sake of low tier killers makes no sense to me.100% agree with the point "if you get tunneled by trapper its a skill issue but if its blight or nurse its a killer skill issue.
I just wish we could address S tiers and survivors complaints without having to soften it for low tiers, I saw it so much in the anti tunneling thread -
@Brimp said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4031201#Comment_4031201
So top tiers get nerfed then what. Even more of the roster becomes miserable to play as against competent survivors. You can get 4ks yes but is it fun? No because as most of the roster you only ever get to do well when survivors allow for it by making mistakes rather than you actually outplaying them.
In the perfect world I think every killer should hover around the same place in terms of power level/ potential, If survivors where given proper communications such as comm wheel and seeing others perks as you load into a match we could look at things at slower base gen speed and speeding up killer interactions, toolbox adjustments of worst add ons, but without all the killers being around the same level giving blanket nerfs too survivor just makes them more miserable against top tiers.
I do understand its harder for killers like ghost face but that should lead to him getting individual buffs, not working around the lowest killers because its harder for them in there current state. -
@Brimp said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4031196#Comment_4031196
Top tiers right now are unironically a necessary evil. Until survivors receive nerfs there NEEDS to be top tiers in their current states. And no this isn't a "1% of the playerbase" type take its more of a "Survivors can do extremely well against most of the roster if they have a functioning brain" type take.
They cant with the current communication the game offers (discord don't count) , if they had a comm wheel with pre made message like mobile had I would agree but until survivors receive that buff ( which i don't think devs will add) top tiers need to be nerfed
-
@Brimp said:
OR we can start nerfing stuff on the survivor side when low tiers are in play. You know maybe an earning requirement for exhaustion, gen progression being disabled etc. Because you don't really NEED multiple uses of exhaustion perks vs low tiers or even faster gens to begin with.
So we can nerf top tiers? or is this just a "oh no think of the low tiers" while ignoring the elephant in the room ( Top Tiers)
Because nerfing exhaustion and gens disabling against S tiers would be stupid unless you nerf them. -
Its absurd, they are nerfing a top tier ad on (in color not power) to be worse then some brown and yellows. can use a yellow and brown ad on and get same effect as a purple.
EDIT
even when you compare to purple flashlight ad ons purple is still gaining more then running a brown and yellow -
I think now we can objectively say the game is killer sided with this years changes.
- Fog vials complained about until basically useless
- The Ghoul is unchanged even with numerous complains about how unfun he is to verse
- anti slugging and tunneling changes not coming to the game meanwhile killers keep buffs from it like seeing hook counter
- Healing nerf coming again
- off the record nerfs (even tho we not getting anti tunnel)
- Slow down buffs to killer (Grim , Ruin)
- go next prevention (not allowing survivors to attempt on hook and go next that only effect the survivor side, not if for example killer gives up and afks )
What buffs have survivors got in 2025?
- pallet density that is being reverted but just wanted to mention it as its the main one I see complained about on here
- Abandon feature that only works when you have lost (as it should but its not really a buff just a get out of match faster)
- I Think faster sabo speeds but cant find a source if it was this year or older change
- (adding this even tho its just a new good perk) Conviction the perk
- nothing else that I can think of. -
This Glitch is still in the game, Pinhead is able to disable item usage until a survivor is downed or hooked after being caught in chains

Once you have played this game enough hours, it becomes obvious when someone is "subtle hacking". Probably in say 5-10% of my matches, i run into a survivor that moves JUST a LITTLE bit faster than i they should. Or Vaults just a LITTLE bit faster than normal. And when you go to look you see no perks in play for that kind of thing. So it just becomes super apparent sometimes.
Its possible the person mistaked you for someone else, you said it was solo queue, so whose to say someone else in the game wasn't cheating? Maybe that someone else was making it look like YOU were cheating (hackers can modify all kinds of stuff)
they called me out specifically (the character I was playing) but wouldn't say what she thought was hacking. my solo q teammate even tried to ask what the spirit thought was hacking and got accused of being in SWF with a hacker.
I honestly just think Spirit assumed fixated was hacking. -

First you didn´t know what the Spirit went through in earlier games and don´t know what she saw. (Thats the reason why a reply would be amazing btw)
I had some Killers called me cheater too. I remember one play over all. Running away from a Killer. Running into shack but have some distance. Stoped running and walked into the locker. Killer charges in. looks at the door if I am crouchinig there and dcs. Called me cheater because I just disappeared in his face.
Till this day i am proud of that play because this killer called my "good" play cheater.
You should really try to not take it with salt but with proud that you played well.
I just wish she explained what she thought was hacking rather then coming off so hard, I was trying to ask her why she thought that and she just kept going off, a random team mate also asked and got caught in crossfire. I do understand tho not every survivor lobby EGC may be as nice.
If it was just I was duking her during phase by walking i would of just explained about fixated.
Thank you for comment -
The only way balancing can be done more in a fair way is if either the top tiers are nerfed, or the game treats them differently to the lower tier killers
EG. top tiers do not get incentives meanwhile the lower tiers can get stronger and powerful incentives because we don't got to worry about the top tiers abusing the incentives. -
She's still too good because her Third person fov is insane, I remember when people where saying its ok on chucky because of his speed and the fov in third person was balanced due to his size. meanwhile Krasue can have a more busted third person fov and have speed and a pretty easy down power.

Their comment was hyperbolic but they are on the right track. As someone who only plays solo I thought it was a game changer when it was introduced. It has improved my games.
The amount of people I watch play that never really pay any attention to the hud drives me crazy. It can give you so much information and help make smart decisions. People just sleep on it.
yes but adding something like pre made communication to the game will help bridge the gap between solo q and swf more.
yes some people don't use the hud correctly, that does not take away from how comms like pre made messages and seeing perks would help soloq players and fill in the gaps where the hud is not helpful / giving information a SFW would already have.
even if you think the true power of SWF isnt comms, there shouldn't be a issue adding it. -

you already have a hud that gives swf levels of information can we just say survivors are terrible and can't read a hud
That's just false and if you've played the game for more then a few minutes in soloq you would know that. it don't tell us if someone is afk, it don't tell us if a killer is proxy camping a hook, it don't tell us things like "don't come for save i have deliverance" making certain perks more useful in swf then solo q.
the hud was a good minimum change that was needed but they need something like a comm wheel with pre made messages.
