That's one of the beauties of maining Bubba.

On another note, I'm saddened by the fact that pre-endgame you can have two survivors on hooks in the same room, but you CAN'T camp them because of anti-camp. 😥 *sad Bubba noises* 😢

Your our lord and saviour! Keep defending! Stay strong in these facecamp - less times.

    Killer Mains!

Of all choices you have, what single perk is the one that synergises perfectly for you and your Killer's play style? The one perk you can't live without?

Can be meta for hard stomping SWFs, can be some mad cap BS perk for goofing about, or could be the perk you use for roleplaying... whatever your goal is for DBD, what's the one perk you prioritise more than any other?

    For reference in you need:

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Killer_Perks

    For me:

    Main: Pig

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/E2ZDB7MMWVE8/vinz-el-tabanas-bs-saw02-template.jpg

Perk: Monitor & Abuse. There are honourable mentions for Deadlock and Hex: Face the Darkness for power synergy, and I really like Spirit Fury or Brutal Strength to help chew through pallets and get a timely down... but the one perk that I always have fun building around and running is M&A.

The ability to get that little bit closer before survivors react and run to safety can make a huge difference to wasting pallets early on and scoring quick hits, especially when you don't have time to crouch and sneak. M&A also allows you to stay upright more often and keep an eye out for scratchies and pre-runners. It ofc also helps ensure you dont watse too much time crouching up to gens, as you can get in range to listen much quicker, just everything you do is just sped up that little bit... for me M&A feels really nice on Pig... and makes me feel like Im a little faster paced and spoopy 😁

What is your go to perk you can't live without? 🤘

    Piggy 🐽

  • Really fun to play killer, that can actually keep up with modern loop design and stronger coordinated groups.

Voice lines are amazing and I find myself laughing a lot due to random line drops.

Power is easy to get into but hard to master. As it should be.

Stealth is a fum part of the game for me, so it's right up my alley.

Playing against him is also a fun experience in my opinion. I know that he is able to get a hit at most tiles and structure is the game, so I feel less safe when looping him. THAT'S GOOD!

Dodging slice and dice feels rewarding and due to his long cooldown wastes a lot of time.

3rd person fov feels nice to play as as killer.

Overall: great killer that I tend to play once or twice every session. Good job!

If it were really like that, we would encounter the Twins more often, wouldn't we?

    They are strong, no joke.

They are just extremely unpleasant to play. You HAVE to slug, you get kicked in the face and you HAVE to use toy sword.

That's it. Are they a strong killer? Yes.

Are they a fun killer? For some yes, for others no.

Are they plagued by horrendous bugs and mechanics that make most people not want to play them? Absolutely yes.

  • @BasementKing said:

"Not fun" is a subjective concept; for some, it's enjoyable to walk around the map and set up drones, for others to vomit on generators and for others to sh*tting traps in shack. But I agree that their mechanics can be tedious

I don't like waiting 7 seconds after I hit someone to do anything again.

  • @LordGlint said:

I'm currently lvling twins to P1 and get their perks and... I'm seeing a pattern. Is this the usual for twins or something? I've only had 3 games so far, so... maybe it's just a fluke, I dunno.

Literally just played a match of twins 5min ago.

    Had slugging, bming and bugs!

    The usual.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

I had two matches last night when one Survivor would constantly vault windows to distract me. That is literally all they do, just try to get you to chase them.

I couldn't catch Feng Min and lost because of it.

The David messed up in chase and I downed him and threw him in the basement where he killed himself in hook.

Should I engage with these people?

The constant explosion sounds really are so annoying.

You should engage then if you are certain that you can.

    Either because:

    - you play to chase.

    - you know that they are all bark and no bite.

    - you play a really strong chase killer.

Otherwise your ears have to simple endure it.

Survivor spamming stuff is nothing that can be interrupted. It's annoying but you have to deal with it. As bad as it sounds.

Agree so hard. Crouch and Ambush are so painful to use without add-ons. I also think they could take it one step further and rework the ambush slightly so Pig can fast vault mid-ambush. I've seen people suggest giving her ambush the ability to break pallets but Mandy isn't the type of killer to use brute force hence why I think a fast vault mechanic would be better suited.

    Also a nice idea.

I had to hold my breath hard to not laugh really loud right now. Others might come into seriously awkward situations because of your comment.

  • Saying that an interaction, a killer has no counterplay to is balanced because some killers (Myers, Billy, Bubba, Ghosty, Oni and some killers with certain addons) have insta downs is a shaky argument at best.

I main Pig. Do you think that's fair for me?

The rest of your argument is mostly based around soloq, tunneling and camping. Soloq isn't every match. Swf exists and performs pretty well from my personal experience facing them. Tunneling and camping are strategies. The stronger the killer is in chase, the harder it is to beat a tunnler. That has nothing to do with the Perk combination in question. What if 3 people in a 4kan swf use it. What if the killer plays Doctor and loses 2 gens for his first down with the 3rd being at 50%?

The best argument is that someone has to follow the killer around and therefore isn't working on gens. That a valid argument in favour of the existence of this combination that I can get behind.

  • Ok. That's too much cuteness for me...

You are addon dependent and have to prioritize tunneling someone out asap.

Here is the basic gameplay of her :

Spam TV teleports in hope someone gets affected by them and gets like 2 or 3 stacks. Get that guy hooked asap so the condemnation stacks lock up. Repeat until someone gets condemned because he / she got 5 or 6 stacks of condemn locked and can't get rid of them anymore.

Against randoms who just play chill you will dominate most of your games. When it comes to a more organized team - no condemnation chance and you will be a typical M1 killer with bad chase potential, but with a potential to tunnel someone one out if you decide to do so.

To summarize : good and fun on paper but nothing like that in action.

    Disagree.

    She is!

All that said... I do also really like this variation... I tend to use John's medical File and Combat Straps in majority of buiilds just cause it feels so much nicer to play...

With this at base and the longer ambush lunge, we would be able to crouch to mind game quickly, and if we commit to the ambush, the longer lunge would be super helpful at larger tiles and at shack... and we'd still have access to the RBT powahs...

What do you reckon to adding:

    • Ambush scream starts after 60% charge (0.30s).

On your list? The crouch itself is a mind game, and this would strengthen that mind game more, as the survivor has less time to realise you're committing to an ambush (which you can still cancel).

The only sad part is I love the ability to spam roar at survivors, which I find a suprisingly useful communicaiton tool when needed... although my brain tells me its a good idea... my heart does not agree🤔

I have the feeling we have a ton alike in our gameplay. I have medical file and combat straps autolocked on her. They really do make her a lot more fun to play an open up a lot of interesting mindgames and plays in general.

I left the ambush roar out for one reason only: the memes. (You know what i mean)

Otherwise, i absolutely agree! The roar could / should start later. If it where not for the memes it would destroy, i'd even suggest putting the roar on the ambush attack entirely.

After several iterations of this discussion I'm not pretty settled on my Pig changes:

    Buffs to Chase

    • Crouching movement speed +5% (3.60 -> 3.8 m/s)
    • Ambush charges +33% faster (0.75 -> 0.5s).
    • Ambush scream starts after 60% charge (0.30s).
    • Ambush lunge time +20% (2.0 -> 2.5s)

    Nerfs to Reverse Bear Traps

    • Saw traps cannot pop while the survivor is searching Pig Jigsaw boxes.

    Or

    • While searching a Jigsaw Box, each Great Skill pauses the head trap timer for 1.5s. (Jigsaw boxes have an 80% skill chance every 1 second)

This improves the 1 area she really struggles, which is chasing around loops, but gives a little bit of safety to survivors removing their RBTs to compensate.

I feel like i heard these suggestions before somewhere....

Absolutely agree! with all of them 🐽

  • I WAS SUMMONED!!!!

Changes for our lady would be:

    • faster crouch movement speed (100% movement speed base)
    • faster crouching and uncrouching (combat straps basekit)
    • longer ambush duration
    • survivors can longer die to a rbt while searching a jigsaw box

The RBTs are extremely oppressive even without addons. You just need to know how to use all the different rng-variations correctly.

  • I played her extensively.

Shes pretty strong if played right.

What people, including me, wanted was a buffed version of old Sadako. This is basicly it. She now provides skillful interaction between survivor and killer again and gets heavily rewarded for hooking survivors.

Interesting, i had no idea. There are even comics/mangas about it.

Yea its true, here (EU) the Franchise is pretty much unknown. I mean, some can remember the movie but thats about it. No where near as big as basically everything on that list.

If the franchise is very imporant in Japan, she should go up a tier higher, i agree. Compared to the playerbase, it would be a bit of a exaggeration to place her in A tho.

I got some of the Mangas myself!

Except here's the thing, you may not see it as anything significant, but that does not change that it is very much objectively a popular and very important horror franchise that has had a big impact on horror, especially with J-horror.

Just to give you an idea of it's impact, here is a bit from a dead meat video talking about just how impactful Ring has been. (From Timestamp to 1:26

    https://youtu.be/9zmLRzdsL44?si=jpgTmmZUv3CXAGA7&t=51

You not finding it anything special or the people you talk with not knowing it does not change the fact that alot of people, and i mean ALOT of people, is familiar in some way or form with the imagery of the long haired ghost girl that crawls out of the TV. That's not an opinion, that is a fact.

Compared to those one tier above. Saw, TCM, Hellraiser, Scream, Resident Evil. Ring is not even close to any of those licences in terms of popularity or impact.

Considering how big it's impact has been, i'd argue Ring is more popular than Hellraiser and has had a bigger impact on horror in general than what SAW, Hellraiser and Scream has had altogether.

The ring was a successful movie and even bigger when we include Ringu, but for me personally, it is just a random horror movie license with not much to it besides the one hit wonder it was. On top of that, it is not very special.

Same argument can be applied to Hellraiser & TCM.

Well said and a great video to give some background knowledge!

    Agree!

  • @Heliosse said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3624850#Comment_3624850

Ring is a very important IP in horror, saying it's just a random movie is crazy. You don't have to say "in your region", Ring is everywhere and everyone who watched a lot of horror movies have watched it or at least knows the "ghost in the tv with long black hair".

Many players in dbd are not familiar with the horror genre and are just gameplay drived which is fine.

Just because the dbd community dislike a killer does not make the IP bad or anything, it's just a failure among their "lives".

Alien (or ring i guess) failed in dbd just like colonial marines failed as a game while Alien Isolation was a masterpiece while IPs like SH or RE did great in dbd.

Just like in anything, some are a hit, some are a miss. In the end Ring (or Alien) are still complete giant, far surpassing this game, that had such an impact on modern horror and creature/abilities power. If Alien did not exist, Demogorgon would probably be very different since the brothers said it was the prime inspiration (it wasn't only Alien of course, but still). Ring is the same.

It's kinda sad seeing theses IP getting trashtalked for being "bad" in dbd, im so happy to even have them but hearing some people, they would be better without it. Halloween was the first IP, replace it with Ring or any others IPand it would have been the same. The insane thing back them was dbd even having a collab woth a big horror IP, not Halloween in particular imo.

    Some respect for Ringu !

I absolutely adore the Ringu - franchise!

After the introduction of Sadako, i researched everything there is about our favourite little ghost. Its amazing what is IP is, how it came into being, and what it spawned.

I found the comment on her lack of importance a bit strange, therefore i wanted to clarify.

Ringu is one of DBDs biggest licenses, representing japanese horror if you ask me. Right up there with Myers, Freddy, Pig, Bubba, Ghostface and Xenomorph.

Shes incredibly important and well known (pun intended).

  • Sadako and Amanda right up there makes me happy. ❤️🐽❤️

Prob already too late but it doesnt build condemned, so as I said tapes represent no risk whatsoever, you should be taking them as much as posible as they have no downside and you turn her tps off, win-win.

    Your wrong.

Wait for my extensive feedback in the Ptb section.

I right now had my 6th match with her.

She's really, really good. Passive condemned is not needed. Trust me. It would be too much.

  • @xEa said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3623952#Comment_3623952

    Okay i can do that:

Myers is in the absolute top, and also alone because he is without a doubt the most important licence we ever got. Without him, there is a good chance, this game would have actually died long time ago. Myers brought DBD back on the map with a big Blast.

A Tier killers have something very significant to them: Demogorgon was the first Netflix / TV series liecence and it is an insanly popular one. Freddy is then 2nd of the great 3 and therefore very important and beloved. PH was the first character from another video game frenchise - and probably one, if not the most iconic we have in horror.

Everything below that are still great characters and good licences, but not nearly as imporant as the others above.

D Tier is for Sadako. If i ask any person, also horror fans what her name is, most would not even know. She is a cool license, like any licence is, but not very big and important overall. Wesker is 2nd Resident Evil character. Nice to have, but really nowhere near as important as the others above. He is easily changeable for many others characters, even from that game.

I guess Sadako is not that important in your region.

In the Japanese community, she's probably right up there with Myers.

    Needs to be tested.

That's what a Ptb is for (hopefully).

Do you think without getting passive condemned from tapes, it will be a bad counter for her?

So people always take tapes and shut down whole areas of the map, because there is no risk.

    There is risk.

The cooldown on TVs is very short and predicting the target TV can mean certain death for the survivor if the team is not playing together.

If course the sadako has to play strategically well and pay attention to taken tapes and TV cooldowns.

Its skillful. Something she desperately needed to return.

If you play her badly, she will not be as strong as right now. If you play her really well, she could even outperform the current version I bet.

    Depends on the addon changes.

My instinct as a player is that it probably should? Otherwise we're still engaging in brain-unnecessary counterplay territory: Are you working on a gen? Take tape, done, work on gen. Given the sheer potential for impact that locking in could have, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with survivors receiving a full stack just from taking a tape, but taking one needs at least some risk-reward aspect.

Weighing in: I'm 110% behind the Sadako changes, to the limited extent I can be without the full changelog. This is everything I wanted to see from a Sadako rework - tweaks to improve her capabilities and make tapes more relevant, not a wild reimagining.

    Agree!

    I'm so happy!

  • @Peanits

Yes, in fact I have played more against old onryo than the new one, it was one of my favourite killers to verse because of the visual heartbeat letting me prerun and waste more of her time. I have versed really good ones, ones that got 4 codemn kills with the old condemn playstyle.

However I must also add that the games lasted around 20+ minutes which consisted of them taking down all resourses in the map until there were only windows and deadzones, because before that looping her was as easy as any m1.

Hence why all of them too had 4 or 3 slowdowns, not only was old onryo boring as any m1 killer, if they were good it was just an endurance match that ended in two ways, first outcome the pallets got destroyed before gens got done because people were bad at looping: sadako wins, people are decent at the game and gens get done before the map is a deadzone: the survivors win.

I was 4th highest on public steam leader boards with sadako and mained her from launch.

I used Stbfl, face the darkness, Discordance and surge. For addons, I only used cabin sign.

Got 2 - 3 condemn moris almost every game. Mostly hooking, rarely slugging.

The rework on the Ptb tomorrow will give her a stronger map pressure (all TVs in a 16m radius will give one stack condemned per tp), stronger chase (reikos watch basekit buff) and strategic thinking (predicting tvs).

Tapes will be very scary and can't be ignored.

She will be a string killer with a strategic skill cieling.

I'm really glad they finally listened and gave her the changes she deserves.

What your describing is basicly every m1 killer with 4 slowdowns. Sadako was better with other stuff. Mostly info. I do t think you played against GOOD Sadakos. At least from what your describing. Sorry.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Perk did not even nerfed that badly lol.

It still same value pre 6.1.0 which perk was fine.

And now m2 killer won't abuse it. If m1 killer is losing stacks for hitting obsession, i don't see reason why m2 killers should not?

Too bad; Wesker, Xeno, Chucky, Demo, Nemmy players who was using this perk will need to learn to use power now.

Pig and Trapper sure needed that nerf right?

She will still need old iri tape to really be able to perform, that addon was just way too good to pass up on really wish they would give like 2 or 3 tvs base kit.

As a Sadako main and basically 1 trick im very very glad they are reverting most of her and basically giving her some qol changes, but i think she will need more.

We will see what happens to her on ptr though.

I don't think she will need a form of iri tape. Cooldowns on tvs are extremely short.

This on top condemned around all tvs is enough for crazy map pressure that CAN'T be ignored.

    She's good. Really good.

this is old sadako and if they don't bring old iri tape back her condemn mechanic will go back to being irrelevant and non existent once again. we'll see

Not entirely. Look at what @Peanits told us above. Condemned is inflicted around ALL tvs in a 16m radius. It can't be ignored. Tvs are around gens. 7 tp are enough to condemn and it has no cooldown.

    She's a scary killer.

I am glad that you got your desired killer back but I must say that I agree with the previous poster, there is no risk anymore against onryo,I can count in one hand the times the demanifest flicker worked against me in chase, because ya know checkspots and safe corners exist so thats something. Also who on earth gets down by an onryo in less than 60 s ? is an m1 cmon at least a gen should be done per chase if not more if you are decent at looping.

And how are tales scary?, I take one go get rid of codemn even if she is chasing me as getting hit doesnt punish me, get the tape off in her face same as old onryo and lmao. Yes she can interrupt you putting the tape with a tp, I will give you that however a good team should have multiple people putting tapes and disabling tvs.

My honest opinion she will no longer be a pubstomper, still since the average player is awful at the game she will still hold a decent killrate, but against any team that is not actually horrible at the game, much like any m1 killer thats not singularity she will get clapped.

Did you play against old onryo?

    A good old onryo?

    Crying good? I'm guessing good...

Seems to me her weak chase is supplemented by a strong "ignore it at your peril" slow down. Gives her a lot of reward for guessing TVs correctly as she can now lock in condemned... but guessing wrong doesn't completely kill all of her pressure, and converting chases is a Biiiig deal.

I like the idea that ignoring condemned becomes a "get off the damned gens" slowdown... though a high level Sadako knowing where I grabbed my tape and working out my TV... 😱😱😱😱

NGL... all changes here sound fricking awesome...

3 gen kicking/breaking got shafted, but so did gen tapping... so that was actually a very solid pair of changes.

Hillbilly with 100% chainsaw turn on Hillbilly basekit! Rewards for being a chainsaw nutcase!! More zoom zoom!!! Just... put it on a damned cracker for me 🤘😁🤘

Blight changes all look reasonable, but I'll wait for a more experienced hand to rate them.

Perk changes are all great... love Shadowborn being an alternative to Lightborn as an anti flashlight perk to catch those filthy pallet break flashlighters (I am one of said filthy pallet break flashlighters).

    Im so happy my friend.

I feel the spamming is even stronger now? No? Survivors will always be near Gens, which TVs are nearby, she can start teleport at the beginning at the match without cooldown to both denying On TV and inflict the stack even more. I dont play Sadako, I just tell what I understand.

This is done to make people use tapes. You can't ignore her anymore.

If she spamms, TVs will be on cooldown, denying any chase pressure.

If you spam, you can't interrupt a survivor inserting a tape.

It has a lot of downsides if you spam.
