yes but you never know when they are unless you do it by accident (or waste time by waiting in the doors) the without counterplay means the free usage of the doors when your in a chase
Or you track survivor movement through in game hints and predict when they use it or not.
That's how I get head pops with Pig and condemned moris as Sadako.
Sure, it takes a good amount of concentration, but the reward is worth it.
I would honestly even go so far and say, that using the doors as a survivor is more risk than reward.
Oh, and btw, the doors are there at the beginning of the trial and cant be disabled. Just wanted to say that. Demo, you know, has to set them down, does not get an insta down when he comes out and a survivor works on them and can be cleansed.
I'd say Springtraps doors are in a very good spot.

A sub par mobility and a mobility that can easily be used against you without counterplay
Without counterplay? Can you not enter the room while someone is in there to get an instant grab?

Not really, because springtraps mobility can be prerrunned very easily, meaning perks like sprintburst absolutelly kill any value his mobility offers.
While huntress can counter prerunning by shooting long range shots, springtrap cannot do this.
Furthermore, now that people know the very obvious tell that he is using the tp, its very easy for players of any skill level (if they play with audio on) to prerun, so its not like there is a skillfloor to completely countering the mobility.
I think you misunderstood what I meant. Map mobility is the ability to move around the map quickly. Not specifically to get very fast hits in / start the next chase extremely quickly.
Sprintrap has great mobility as he can tp to almost every gen at will, making him strong at defending gens. This means, perks like pop work amazing on him, as it does on any other high mobility killer.Huntress has really low mobility as shes a 110 killer with no dash or anything else that can give her more speed. That means that she struggles with defending gems that are far from each other. This is a big weakness, for that her design tries to makke up with very high lethality whenever she arrives.
-
@SpringMyTrap said:
he's fine, just needs small buffs.
he's weaker than huntress at snowballing or getting quick downs, but he makes up for that with more versatile kit with no major weaknesses.
The major difference between the two is, that Springtrap has better mobility while Huntress has more lethality. A fair trade imo.

Yh there is no exposed perk in the game right now that needs a nerf.
I personally think that devour hope could use a rework personally, but that wouldnt be a nerf. It would be more of a side-grade.
- Devour hope now only activates (totem becomes cleansable) once it hits 3 stacks. Devour hope does not go beyond 3 stacks anymore.
That would make it more consistent but also not a "win more" - perk.

Kinda on some obsession builds. But more to switch and find the obsession for example pwyf and not for the exposed effect.
Lockers are an easy counter.
I usually dont get any value out of the exposed when im not playing a killer with very high mobility. So the only thing it gives is obsession change and maybe an aura reveal.
Doesnt seem like a perk that needs to be nerfed imo.

I mean they were tweaking numbers with no testing to get it in for Live. I can see how the full consequences might fly under the radar.
And you think, after recent releases like Ghoul, that nobody thought: "hey, maybe we should not make the same mistake again after what happened not too long ago?"

I don't think cashing in making a quick buck and then nerfing the character is something they actually want to do. If people are constantly worried that a character will be wildly different shortly after release then people are going to stop buying DLCs. There needs to be some element of trust that things will stay relatively untouched.
What I think happened with Krasue is they thought "people said that these elements of the killer were too weak, we'll just do a few number buffs" without realising how strong that'd actually make the killer. Good thing about that, though, is that tweaking the numbers once again will probably put her back in a balanced state.
It also didn't help that the anti-tunnel/slug changes kind of overshadowed any killer-specific feedback, as the state of the game was so Survivor favoured that it wasn't really possible to get proper feedback on the Killer's strength.
You cannot tell me, that they didnt see this coming. I refuse to accept that anyone in the developement team saw all these changes and thought: "Eh, seems fine".
Ive defended their practice for years, but after the last couple of months I simply cant defent this anymore. Im deeply sorry, but this happens, when trust is broken. -
Obviously I dont know for certain whether it was the intention behind the buffs for the release version, but im gonna say this:
Releasing a character in an obviously overtuned state, knowing that it will create a miserable experience for all players (survivors while the killer is overtuned / killer when the character is eventually nerfed) is not consumer friendly practice.
It reaks of making a quick buck and this is not what should be accepted by the consumer.
I really hope im wrong with this assumption.

I really enjoy dash based powers that are reliable. For example, if I perfectly aim Blight’s dash, then I get a hit.
Unreliable dash based powers are unenjoyable, even if they include a dash. Because if I perfectly aim a dash, it should guarantee a hit. And if a survivor can dodge a dash on reaction, that means the dash is useless and the killer would be better off doing a M1 lunge instead.
This was the reason why PTB Krause was absolute garbage. Her PTB dash was so unreliable that bots would perfectly dodge it on reaction.
But guaranteed hits are bad as well imo. The survivor experience has to be considered as well and nobody likes to have 0 agency.
The possibility to avoid a hit should be there. Look at demo for example. There are many situations, where the shred can possibly hit the survivor and it comes down to a mindgame whether or not the hit lands. Will the survivor take a step to the right/left? Will they just run straight?
Obviously demo cannot even get a hit in many situations, but that is besides the point im trying to make.
Edit: when did I talk about how good or bad Myers's dash was? My post was about dash based powers in general and how giving every new killer / reworked killer one makes killers overall less unique. -

Would be very interesting to see where they take Myers after all the feedback the community is giving them cause Honestly hopefully they see we don't like Slaughtering Strike and need changes 😭🙏
I dont like the strike. You dont like the strike. There are however people out there, that really enjoy dash-based powers. BHVR has, very obviously, catered to these people for a majority of recents killer powers and reworks, as many of them feature a dash-based mechanic.
Sadly, this gets old fast for me personally. Some killers just dont fit that mold that they try to squeeze them in and i think Myers is one of them. -
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
I think most people agree the slaughtering strike is the main issue with this rework. That and there's too many audio queues for everything Michael does.
Get rid of the dash and replace it with a different, more interesting and especially more faithful ability. I was always a fan of the idea that Myers could traverse the map extremely fast when unseen. Now that we have the option to go stealthy whenever we want, including something like does not seem impossible. We already have a "dont - look at me" - mechanic in the game (unknown).

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/456390/buff-stbfl-and-pwyf
i hope not.
stbfl got nerfed fairly recently and rightfully so. as it put survs in lose lose situations making unhooking impossible. M2 hits also didnt lose stacks and made a lot of killers way too powerful.
pwyf is unhealthy and needs reworked. no one "throws" getting stacks for pwyf.^ in fact, its probably one of the easiest perks to get value from. which is why its so unhealthy. plus the haste is insanely OP.
What killer became too powerful? Piggy? Demo? Lets not forget, that Stbfl is a stack perk as well. You don't start with these stacks. You build them throughout the match by hitting survivors with m1 attacks. Most m2 killers use their power to get hits. If they resort to m1s early in the match, they often lose out on a lot of pressure and chase potential, as they mostly resort to being a simple m1. For most lower tiers, stbfl only becomes relevant mid trial and it's effect can be hindered by the obsession being a bit altruistic from time to time.
Camping with Stbfl is still incredibly strong, so that nerf didn't help much there.
-
Stbfl got a nerf that didn't make much sense in regard to what it should be.
The perk is supposed to help killers that struggle in chase. While it still does that, the reduction in percentage hit those already down while not effecting those that are strong.
The M2 losing stacks is inconsistent amount killers. For examples, Nemesis and Vecna can maintain stacks through zombies and skeletons, while a Pig loses stacks for using her ambush.
Stronger M2 killers usually don't use Stbfl, so this also mostly hurts lower tiers that need help in chase.
Where Stbfl had to get nerfed was camping. A strength it maintains to this day. 8 stacks and camping basement? Good luck getting anyone out of there. Even the obsession is not going to save you if the killer plays the perk correctly.
Gaining stacks should be disabled around hooked survivors. If very close, it the killer could even lose stacks regardless of the role of the survivor if necessary.
Because of this, the nerf mostly didn't address the real issue of the perk and punished killers that already struggle.

You quoted my post so I replied to you yes ? I know incredible…
The doomposts and review bombing are pitiful yeah, most games i'm seeing from PTB still end in 3-4ks, tunneling seems slightly harder it's kinda the point, you can tweak a few numbers but update is mostly good
just because they threw some bones at casual survivors after years of killer dominating doesn't justify the panic and emotional meltdown you can see on reddit/twitter, especially because it will get nerfed before live, sorry but yeah truly pathetic
First off, you said it yourself, casual survivors. Casual survivors are not what im seing in a majority of matches and for these people, this update can create an immense power trip. Just guess why they allowed the changes to be disabled in custom games. Because they know how unfair it would be in a competetive setting. Sadly, thats where base dbd is already going towards. The competetive setting isnt a myth. Its very much real in many public matches. What do comeptetive players enjoy doing? Optimizing everything and this update gives them a LOT to work with.
This update is making things worse. So much worse in fact, that its not going live at all.
You are looking at the changes form a superficial perpsective. Killer cant be generalised, as there are multiple with different levels of strenght.
While your typical nurse or blight wont get damaged much by this, a killer like Trapper does. There are killers that struglle getting their first downs due to pre dropping and the lack of a strong chase power. These killers, pig or sadako for example, tend to make a comeback through their power allowing them an instantly kill a survivor. Now they are supposed to get punished for exactly doing that.Other killers like trapper or hag cant really decide who to go for. They tend to chase whoever interacts with their traps. Survivor got unhooked and stepped into your trap? You know, something THEY did wrong? Well, you cant punish them or you will be punished for punishing their mistake.
I personally disagree with this on a fundamental level.

With all the crying and doomposting they are obviously going to nerf or remove the 6 hook states thing and blocked gens, it's not going live so yeah why should I care ?
I love everything else in this update, they are getting review bombed so hard the next 3 updates are going to be major killer buffs, community is pitiful
Why do we care? Because these changes are proposed the way they are to begin with.
I feel like a broken record, but they should know better.
Tunneling is a problem so deeply engrained in dbds core gameplay, that it can't simply be solved by giving a bunch of perks basekit. The core mechanics and objectives have to change for people to want to stop doing the strategy. Forcing them by lowering their agency won't fix it. Just make the issue more apparent and create new ones on top of it.
Just a personal note, you cared enough to reply to my post. Why? To call us all pitiful? Who's pitiful?

It's not what all I can think of. It's all I saw in multiplayer games with a compeititve element in it.
Then you might be very unlucky ro you constantly look at the wrong places. When playing with the Pig crew, we never try to "ego over" each other or the killer. We are just trying to have a good time. Dying? Happens. Surviving longer / shorter than the others? Happens.

I love how survivors are always losing and dead in these clips, if you're trying to prove survivors are op you're doing a really poor job…
of course Otz hates it, his job is literally doing killer winstreaks on Dbd
You don't really seem to get the point. It's that your disincentivized to do something against a survivor doing something in your face. We had the same thing before with old ds unbreakable. Yes we also won these games. However, this is unhealthy for the game.
We are teaching players to just not care because there are systems to back up their bad and careless decisions. The one that gets punished is the one that actively tries to punish that careless behaviour.
Don't get me wrong, I'm against tunneling and camping as the next guy, but this isn't the way to go. Both are sometimes necessary evils to punish reckless / too efficient survivor gameplay.
This update doesn't address that. For a long list of killer to say the least.
@AmpersandUnderscore said:

He doesn't have to "let the person finish the gen", there are options: he can slug if it's really that critical, or just hook. There's one gen left, so up until maybe a week ago when this was announced this was everyone telling us "you have to secure a kill because the game is over".
Given that he went with the hooking option and then won the game, this isn't really making your case that it's a problem. You seem upset that he didn't "win harder" here.
It's not about winning. It's about the mentality that it thought to the players.
Survivors can do stuff in the killers face because they know THEY will get punished for it. The killer just has to chose his punishment.
We literally had the same issue years ago in perk form. Now it's basekit.
Tunneling and slugging are bad. But this isn't the way to address them. It needs more work.

That's just the 3 of you then. When people say 40min queue, I think they aren't lying. I also don't think that you are lying either.

God damn it!
-Remove zombies (unlikely because Capcom forced them to be part of Nemesis's power to concede the licence).
-Give him a dash like Vecna's (to just traverse the map/not able to injure survs).
-Remove the ability to drag the tentacle sideways to compensate (this is tech/bug exploitation, so this will probably be removed regardless).
DONE.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3988870#Comment_3988870
Dracula was unable to cast Hellfire through the shack's pallet since his release and today OUT OF NOWHERE they fixed it.
Fingers crossed they will fix them and give him an add-on pass like they did to Pyramid. Would be awesome if instead of the zombies you could have one Licker. Please not another dash-slop killer.
We really have enough of them. I like the zombies, I really do. They come in handy more often than not. Especially when compared to how they worked, or not worked, back then.
BHVR has to look at specific instances, where the Ai becomes stuck like the one you showed and tweak it.

Gee, could it be that a factor of que times being long is that its a limited time mode where killers can play with their friends and murder survivors?… ya know…just a thought.
It's not as simple as that. @Foggyguy does have a good point here.
Queue times have, as far as I know, never been this horrible in 2v8. According to your statement, you would think that those would be worst when the game mode released, as it was when the option was the freshest for every player.
It's not fresh anymore. It's blatantly obvious that survivors don't want to play 2v8. Now this has multiple reasons obviously with no new classes being one of them.
It is undeniably though, that a killer combo that feels incredibly out of place and has proven to be a bad idea is one reason as well.
It's a game. If people don't want to play because it isn't fun for them, a sentiment I can wholeheartedly understand in regard to facing Legion + oni (or legion + a variety of killers), they will simply not engage in that game mode. They will either not play the game mode or not play the game at all, looking for something else that pays more respect to their time.
Adding Legion this early into the game mode was simply put a mistake.

I mean, they straight up did what we asked, and they're going to refine the kill switch criteria to use it more often when there's an exploit regarding the perks, and not just when they're "entirely" gamebreaking, whatever the definition for that was.
Obviously we won't be able to see what that'll look like until another perk exploit rolls around, but I think this is a win in general. When another Streetwise situation happens then it seems like they're going to be far more proactive in using the killswitch.
And right now, it feels like the only thing getting killswitched… is us.
That's corny asf man I can't lie.
My only issue is: Why does it have to be us. Why do they not see the issues themselves. After so many years, you would think they get tired of their reputation. Situations like these fully support this reputation though.

They have a place in the game. While the tombstone itself has proven to he fine over and over again, the tombstone piece was always problematic.
I think toning it down (maybe 1 mori and then a different effect like smaller tr in t3) with compensatory buffs could work.
