Strength-wise Billy is fine. He does not need any Buffs to enhance his strength.

But QoL-Updates would be nice. The animations and the FoV should really be fixed. It is bearable with Shadowborn, but you should not have to run a Perk to have a good feeling when playing Billy. His Chainsaw-Hitbox also can be smaller, this would make it a bit harder to get Chainsaw-Hits (since you actually have to aim properly), but would help with not bumping into things just because his Chainsaw-Hitbox is massive.

Im sorry. I can smell from your comment that you're definitely a new player or just a bad survivor. There is a reason why people don't play hillbilly anymore

  • lmao the point of this post is to tell ppl do however u would like to play the game. idk why people are reading too much into my post. tbagging or tunneling is valid game strategy and don't give a damn about dbd's rulebook lol

Calling someone “cheap” implies you actually do blame them for something you consider unsportsmanlike. And then you act shocked when they act insulted.

lmao I mean cheap strategy is called cheap regardless of whether I blame it or not because it gives u a guaranteed win lol. I didn't say I am against it what r u talking about?

"If you do good and win, it's a guaranteed win"

Yeah, with that logic, every one of victory is cheap.

Like, if you play with SWF, it's guaranteed win and thus it's a cheap way.

Like I said, you do you and I don't blame it. lol that was the whole point of this post.

How is switching targets to the people doing the gens "cheap"?

(not sure why my previous comment has been removed) If you target for newbie survivors and tunnel to get them out of your game, it's a guaranteed win. If you get one kill by 3 gens, it's a guaranteed win. That's why I call it cheap way to win. so I like running 4 man squad (each >= 2000 hours of playtime) because killer is forced to commit to chase after good survivors :-)

How is switching targets to the people doing the gens "cheap"?

If they keep going after and tunneling newbie survivors to get them out of the game, it's almost a guaranteed win. If you get 1 kill by 3 gens, it's almost a guaranteed win. That's why I call it cheap way to win. That's why I like to run 4 man swfs (>= 2000 hours each) because going after someone else wouldn't make any difference

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858508#Comment_2858508

Sure but the killers that chase you for 5 gens are ones you'd beat anyway regardless. The good ones aren't impacted strategically by a teabag.

Yup. killers with brain cells who went after me usually dropped chase and went for weaker ones. It's cheap way to win but you do you for whatever it takes to win the game. I don't blame yall :-)

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858617#Comment_2858617

No, bubba IS the killer used by people who want to facecamp, not the other way around.

If you match bubba, you will be camped, doesn't matter what you do.

Oh I get your point. But that's why I love bubbas

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858598#Comment_2858598

matching a bubba and believing anything you have done had any impact on his gameplay? Hmm...

Obviously? They decided to facecamp me instead of pressuring gens? All other survivors escaped so my sacrifice was totally worth it. I am glad others got out

You said 'it's about winning by any means necessary'.

    I'm saying you're wrong.

There are plenty of restrictions on what you can and can't do to win in this game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858508#Comment_2858508

I think you vastly overestimate how much this works on people.

For me, all it does is irritate me, and I'll go from my usual chill 'yeah these were fun survivors, I'll probably give the last one or two hatch or gate' to 'okay, you all die now'.

I'll wait till I catch you in a better spot, whittling down your team in the meanwhile. Then I'll down you, hook you, probably proxy and then tunnel you out of the game. If I can, I'll probably bleed you out too.

And best of all, I'll remember you - so the next time I see you, you're getting the strongest addons and offerings I have.

Then you'll make a post on the forums complaining about being tunneled and camped and using it as a weaselly justification for continuing to be obnoxious ingame. Much as you did in this thread.

Oh trust me. It works all the time. Just played the last two games with bubba and nurse and they facecamped me on the first hook

    No, no it isn't.

    You can't hack.

    You can't use stretched res.

    You can't DDOS.

    You can't use exploits.

Hell, even if you want to keep it based on language, you can't make threats or use slurs to rattle another player.

BHVR limits what you can do in the game for the good of the game, because the internet has evolved considerably since the 90s.

If there was one phrase that I wish the current generation would delete from their lexicon, it would be 'by any means necessary'. Anyone using that phrase isn't someone to be given the benefit of the doubt.

I am sorry, what? How did we end up talking about hacks and bug exploits from t-bag/emoting?

  • @Jacoby2041 said:

Actually teabagging and clicking slows you down and you're not doing gens so it's not a valid strategy (or at least, not a good one)

While you're following me around furiously slapping the ground with your ass and doing minigun impressions I'm killing all your teammates and those gens aren't getting any less dusty

I've had an astonishing amount of people throw the game trying to get the killer's attention, and by the time they get it they realize they don't want it

    Ditto. Check my previous comment

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858013#Comment_2858013

Highest MMR killers aren't strategically impacted by survivors teabagging them. If anything, when a survivor is aggressively trying to get a killer to chase them the good killers take that as a sign that they should ignore that survivor since they're not doing anything useful and chase others instead. That way the killer is keeping two survivors busy with a single chase.

Also this notion that most survivors are using teabagging as a "strategy" is really farfetched. It's almost all showboating, that's it, like doing touchdown dances after scoring a point. Plus it's typically a waste of time against a good killer, the survivor is either using their time inefficiently and not gaining distance or they're jerking around too much off the gens and a killer can capitalize on it. "But bad killers will follow me if I teabag" is a lousy strategy - you don't need to use much strategy at all to beat bad killers and it's detrimental to your chances of winning against good ones.

As you said I don't waste my time walking up to killer t-bag to get their attention. I only tbag if the killer happens to chase me and I pallet stun the killer or killer misses hit while I'm vaulting a window. Some killers end up losing it and chasing me for 5 gens XD

Technically, Mario Party can be played PvP. Is that not, by its very name, a party game?

As if anyone would care about winning the Mario party game.

  • @Satelit said:

Annoying the enemy is gonna be a valid strat as long as PvP games are a thing so yeah you're right.

haha I laugh at people who are saying DBD is a chill, casual party game lol. PVP was never meant to be party game

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857971#Comment_2857971

So you're not interested or invested at all in what you're playing? How could you just not care?

Sportsmanship is always relevant when you get to the competitive level of a multiplayer game. If you're not there, party game away. But at this level of skill and experience, we expect good old respect by default, not disrespect.

hahaha if you play in the highest mmr no one cares gives a damn about the so-called sportsmanship. it's about winning by any means necessary

  • @danielmaster87 said:

It's toxicity promoted as strategy. Point tech at the exits, I get. But what's tbagging, clicking, and pointing mid-chase doing, other than to annoy the killer? It's like calling killer hitting someone on hook a strategy. I'm sure spiking the football and victory dancing to show off against the other football team makes them angry and makes them play worse too, but it's not celebrated nor justified as a strategy. It's called being unsportsmanlike.

what do you mean unsportsmanlike? This is just a mere video game lol

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/314931/tbagging-emoting-is-a-valid-game-strategy

Yes, trying to annoy someone IRL to put them on tilt a videogame can certainly work.

That isn't the question at hand. All sorts of things 'work' to give you an advantage in a game.

The question is - why would we want to encourage this, and is it healthy for the game as a whole?

I mean I get tunneled and camped a lot even if I don't BM anyway so why not do it?

  • Also billy is just a harder killer to play because there are a lot of indoor maps (when I started playing dbd it was just Games and Lery's). Also autohaven and macmillan rework made it harder to curve around the tiles.

  • @Pig_Is_Pog said:

doom/death engravings should also have a heat reduction whilst revving, you overheat too quickly with double engravings due to extra charge time - another billy main

I second this. With engravings you shouldn't be penalized with overheat. Extra charge time alone is already good enough. Billy is one of the most high-risk, low-reward killers in the game. I also wish they'd remove his roar and revert his animation.

  • @legacycolt said:

Even if he was stronger, his strength was not the point of the rework. The rework happened because it was frustrating to play for both sides.

why both sides? playing freddy before re-work was a lot of fun. Now he's like clown and the counter is u have to drop pallets early which is pretty boring.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

    definetely not that strong.

why? class photo basically gave u wall hack, and pill bottle was barely counterable

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Rotten Fields hands down is the number 1.

Then I would say Indoor maps (not including The Game).

    Then Ormon

    Then maybe Swamp(?)

rotten field and swamp map. in rotten field blight is like a killer with no abilities. Swamp map sucks because u will slide off of objects or tiles in the map when you try to bump into them.

  • The Tank in Left 4 Dead. It would be cool if his main ability is to break through walls. Or alien and predator

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think the perk is fine. Because it improves your ability to find survivors. That's a good perk

But why do I have to use a perk to increase FOV? That's stupid.

  • I think I can agree why people can find it boring and takes away skills. But people are not mindful of the fact that dbd is 1 vs. 4. In competitive match, you can't constantly win mindgame against the optimal team and the best you can do is to get rid of resources in the map and zone survivors into dead zone. In casual game bamboozle is not needed

  • @gendoss said:

I mean I could see how people would think it's boring. You're kind of taking away one of the only 2 options a survivor can use against a killer, but it's definitely not overpowered and not even that good of a perk. People should not be complaining.

people have been saying "because it's a boring perk killer shouldn't use it". That sounds pretty preposterous tbh. "taking away one of the only 2 options a survivor can use against a killer" I mean that's exactly the reason why u use bamboozle.

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

He was the 2nd best killer more or less. He had high skill, he had counterplay, he was fun to go against and play as but they nerfed him. Now we gotta deal with spirits instead. Every time you are mad at someone for being spiurit remember BHVR nerfed the last killer in that spot

lol 100%. I would rather go against insta saw billy with bamboozle enduring spirit fury billy rather than spirit with stridor. Such a stupid killer.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2081823#Comment_2081823

You stated before his rework. Insta saw, speed addons, and he's stronger now?

A survivor montage of bad billys won't prove anything. You can find videos on survivors juking Nurses.

I mean even if it's called "insta add-ons" it wasn't really an instant saw lol do you even know what instant saw was before tinkerer nerf? IMO carburetor + engraving was stronger. Even with these addons he is easily counter-able.

Obviously the billy in the montage wasn't interested in getting kills and was trying to have fun by playing fancy curves. But I wouldn't say he is a good billy but he isn't bad

  • @Mr_K said:

The number 2 killer was considered trash?!

I'd consider tier ranking useless except for spirit, nurse, and blight since they have no counter plays. The tiers for killers who have counter plays like billy, hag, huntress and so forth can change depend on who are playing against them.

Isn’t that kind of the problem with the game anyway? There’s all these OP perks and stuff to combat tunneling and that’s why killers use it? I never use decisive because I actually want a challenge and I want to get good enough at looping that I don’t need extra help.

Yes. Just get better at game and come to red rank. It'll be slug party :)

and survivors be like: "why are killers so sweaty" (meanwhile running dead hard, borrowed time, decisive strike, unbreakable)

  • I mean if you don't like to get tunnelled or camped, then use decisive strike and borrowed time? BHVR already made ######### tons of anti tunneling perks why are survivors not taking advantage of those? If you are already using it and still crying, then I think u should just quit and move onto the other game

  • I don't really care if the killer tunnels me. If you don't like tunnel, then use DS and unbreakable. Easy. If you had already equipped yourself with anti-tunneling perks and are still bitching about tunneling, then I think you are just being crybaby.

In fact, tunneling is a legitimate strategy in competitive match or tournament. Whether you get a first kill by 2 remaining gen can change the whole mechanics of the game and it decides whether you can get 4k or not. Usually I don't give a ######### about 4k because I just wanna chill and enjoy the fun chase.

  • I personally enjoyed going against old billy. There is easy counter against good billy because their play is so predictable because they usually get greedy for those curves.

  • @MadLordJack said:

If I hold my middle finger up straight and proud, do you get offended? Lol, why? It's just a finger.

how can you not know that finger pointing after a pallet hit may be interpreted as BM? That’s pretty straight forward.

also what do you mean with slapping?

By slapping I mean when you execute "follow me / come here" action but I've seen some twitch streamers doing that to killer after pallet stun and looks like you are "slapping" the killer

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

You reap what you sow. If your standard play involves BM, that makes you a prime target to be treated in kind. Obviously you´re offended by the same kind of stuff, so why do you complain?

The profile reveal seems over the top though, not sure if it´s even allowed.

I mean I am not exactly offended but rather confused about her reaction. And I didn't know pointing fingers or slapping is considered a BM

  • @xenofon13 said:

Very mediocre gameplay from both of them.

I'd say this is good gameplay considering it was back in early-mid 2018. Players in this year was not used to billy curves, and I think the billy in the video is still far better than most mediocre billy players nowadays.

  • @Dzeikor said:

When they nerfed legion, all he needed was to get rid of the moonwalk abuse, they destoryed him.

When nurse was nerfed all she needed was to get rid of her triple blink, they destroyed her.

When billy was nerfed all he needed was to get rid of his insta saw, they destoryed him.

See a patern here?At this point,I think devs purposely want to make old killers obsolete so the players will play the latest ones, especially the licensed killers. Also way to go devs, trying to make a fun killer like Billy not only bad,but unfun to play with frustrating cooldowns.

Give us double engravings back -.-. I don't want to be m1 killer

  • Learn how to play against him.

  • One obvious option: when a bad teammate used up all the god pallets in a single chase but the chase itself lasted less than 20 seconds. Then I get killed because there are no pallets in the map.

"I said DS can punish efficient killers who did NOT tunnel."

If you "did not tunnel" and get hit by DS you were punished for making a mistake. It's pretty simple.

And I made the comparison to NOED because you could literally take your arguments about DS and apply them to NOED. It is seriously hypocritical to complain about DS but then turn around and say NOED is fine.

Either they are both fine or neither are fine. Take your pick.

"If you "did not tunnel" and get hit by DS you were punished for making a mistake"

I don't follow your logic bud. What do you mean by mistake? Killers are making mistakes by being good at the game? And your comparison from NOED to DS doesn't make any sense either. You didn't even bother reading my post. I said NOED is a perk that counters survivor's perk (adrenaline) - both are end game perks. DS is a perk that counters tunneling. This IS a significant difference. And punishing killers by DS who are not even tunneling is not even fair.

  • This is pretty funny because the majority of solo survivors I play with are stupid regardless of whether they have bt or ds

  • @thesuicidefox said:

"The reason why current NOED is problematic is that it punishes survivors who are being efficient and quick at finishing gens without 3 genning themselves."

I'm sure you can see the problem with this statement. Now look at your own statement.

It doesn't punish killers for being efficient, it punishes them for not changing their tactics.

NOED is a perk that counters survivor's perk adrenaline and gives a chance to low-tier killers (trapper, crown, etc) to snowball during the end game. The word "punish" is not a right word to use. More precisely, it punishes survivors for not cleansing the totems - it has nothing to do with gen speed.

I said DS can punish efficient killers who did NOT tunnel. It's not about tactic. The DS should be reworked in a way that if a killer goes after another survivor and hooks him/her, the DS timer should be deactivated (for the survivor who was unhooked previously), because the killer was not obviously tunneling.

Imagine complaining about NOED lol. NOED is not a perk that "punishes" survivors. It is meant to counter the survivor's perk Adrenaline and gives a chance for low-tier killers (like trapper, wraith, crown, etc) to snowball during the end game. The word "punish" is not a right word to use.

"It doesn't punish killers for being efficient, it punishes them for not changing their tactic"

What are you talking about? I said DS can still punish efficient killers who are NOT tunneling. What the heck is killer supposed to do?

  • I think the best killers to get the most out of this perk is myers (depends on add-ons), plague, and bubba. Especially 3 stacks of play with food on bubba adds immense pressure during chase, forcing survivors to drop pallets early and create a lot of dead zones. Don't break the pallet with chainsaw since it consumes a token. For myers, it's very good if you use either mirror or tombstone piece add-on. For plague, her power doesn't consume token so it is also good on her.

  • @Shocktober said:

What's wrong with making the survivors depip? I feel like in plenty of my killer games the survivors would not bat an eye if I depipped.

I would say at least a fourth of my games have someone teabagging or clicking a flashlight at me, and I will hear footsteps of people following me as I bring someone to the hook.

I don't mind getting brutal killer or even depipping, I feel like tombstone myers is the most hilarious way to 3-4k depip in the game. I have played from rank 8 killer to rank 1 killer recently and...the matchmaking is exactly the same. Even at rank 8 you will still hit full rank 1 survivor lobbies. So the rank is nothing but a flex honestly.

The pip system is also arbitrary. Sometimes I feel like I did super well and get brutal killer, other times I feel like I did nothing and got a pip. 5 hooks camping the basement with trapper in purple ranks was enough for a pip. 10 hooks with deathslinger at red ranks was a brutal killer.

I honestly don't mind making survivors depip if they don't deserve to stay in red rank. I miss old purple/red ranks before the rank system change. Nowadays, you can be ######### at the game and still become a red rank player.

Im honestly sick and tired of seeing the complaints about DS. I'm a 6k hour killer main with 16.5k kills yes i know this matter little. Ds does NOT affect my games in the least. sure... there are situations when i get dsd in the gate and they escape BUT.... It VERY rarely gets to endgame. i'm not trying to say i'm the greatest killer in the world but the only time it gets to endgame is when im facing that 0.5% 4 stack on comms with metas. it really isn't the perk that's a problem its your strat and swf breaks the game if the survivors are really good at the game. SLug em it's still map pressure not as good as a hook, but still pressure. just play the game guys you win you win you lose you lose. it is that simple

    GGS

The reason why current DS is problematic is that it punishes killers who are being efficient and quick at downing survivors without tunneling. Second chance perks such as deadhard, DS, BT, for the people, unbreakable are not "strategy". They are literally perks that give you second chance that let you escape for free, not requiring any skills at all. Same for killer's perk. Imo enduring + spirit fury combo is a bullshit combo that gives you a free down. I don't think fury should exist.

  • I mean if you get slugged at 5 gen, that's on you and your teammates for being bad :-).
