Yeah doc is about timing shocks well to catch survivors out during chase.
Try running a gen killer build on him, distressing, unnerving presence, overcharge and whatever else you like for 4th. Huntress lullaby, BBQ, Pop, Brutal strength to get the gen kicks off quickly and apply overcharge or chase perks like STBFL.
Experienced teams will hit the skill checks but some games, even at high ranks, can be a gen blasting bonanza. The survivors will regress gens more than you kicking them. Just get ready for some salt when that happens.
Chuck on a Calm and a king or discipline and baboom you got map coverage shock, any small indoor map is bread and butter with this build.
I typically wouldn't use M&A on Doc (the irony it being his perk), I'd use it on Hag to get close, so I can herd the prey into my traps for easier take down.
-
One of the big kickers when it comes to dulling down the scare factor, is things that make the killer scary, insta downs, jump scares, good stealth or ability to shutdown player's attempts to evade them, get complained about more than anything else.
When I play survivor, I like facing the killers than can pop out of nowhere, shut down loops quickly and generally make me sweat it makes the game scary.
The principle argument about these things are they are boring to play against or there is no counter play.
People don't seem to want scary, they want generic... and any horror survival scenario will suffer in the scare factor as a result.
-
Its not really about them being easy but given the complexity of mindgames etc when it comes to player interaction, the bots would probably be an easier kill. Its not like you can't bottleneck a corridore in SWBF and just kill each bot as they try to run through. I get the feeling it would be easy to predict bots in DBD, so it would get dull eventually.
Also playing an offline solo survivor game would likely be really dull unless the killer was programmed to preference you over the survivor bots.
Even so if it was a bit of a crummy evening interaction wise I could get my fix against a few bots and call it a night. I don't think it would ever replace the online game it would be a nice alternative to indulge in.
Some kind of solo play campaign would be interesting. Its a huge investment to write and plot out a workable story though, I'd settle for purely a custom game using bots kind of scenario.
-
I hope its back soon, I found a much more balanced game as killer when they rolled it out the first time. Not easy wins but no facestomp losses either. Most games felt like it was anyone's game rather than 2 min snowball in either direction.

Check the definition of headcanon you've misspelled it here. I agree slugging is not toxic but over slugging is. Just like a couple taunts or notifications from a survivor is playful but spamming them is toxic. Funny how you think I'm being aggressive when all that's happening is I'm clearly stating my intentions and logic. Sorry if that offends you bud.
I'm not offended I just offered some messaging advice. The spelling doesn't concern me either, headcanon is the creation of self styalized fiction as it relates to the story in a fictional world, a subject that is completely irrelevent here and nothing to do with what this particular post in the foum is talking about.
"Sorry if that offends you bud" <- that's called passive aggression. Again I'm not offended but you may have less escalating posts if you refrain from using it. Just a suggestion I'm not here to police your behaviour do or don't it doesn't really matter to me.
I'm glad we are in agreement on slugging not being toxic, I'm not sure what "over slugging" is, I guess you mean repeatedly downing the same person again and again for no reason, or slugging everyone and waiting for the bleed timer to run out rather than just hooking folks once all are down, then yeah this is an example of abusing a mechanic for more obnoxious ends. If the intention is to ruin someone elses game in doing so then that is toxic. But slugging has its place and is a totally viable strategy if used well.

Okay but maybe adress my point. This behavior will lead to players quitting and is therefore toxic by definition. I didn't say anything about how you're a bad person for spamming noise or letting everyone sit on the ground, I'm just letting you all know the definition and that your little head canon can't change it.
Ok, I did but I can address it more directly, it doesn't harm the player base unless the player lets it. Teabagging can't hurt you, unless you let it. Slugging at worst is 4mins of your time, it can't really upset you unless you let it. If you quit because it exists, then again that is more of a you problem than an overall game problem, as these behaviours I find are in the minority for most games (At least that's my experience).
So why should someone quit because someone else is a jerk, when you can queue again and play with different people. Add folks to your ignore list and dodge lobbies filled with names you recognize as 'bad' players, by bad I mean unpleasant attitude not game inexperience. If there comes a tipping point where every game feels bad then by all means find another game.
If you want to talk about how game mechanics might be abused or changed with respect to toxic behaviour then great but that's a different discussion.
This was about is slugging toxic and no its one way the killer can apply pressure.
Toxic behaviour implies an intention to ruin someone's game, you can slug as a means of pressure with no intent to ruin someone's game. They can be picked up, they can still hatch out and escape, they can run perks to avoid it, there is a timer to prevent it going on forever. Its really not abusive. This isn't "headcannon" this is my point.
Also I realise that tone is absent from text, but your post comes off as a little unnecessarily aggressive. Check the definition of headcannon you've misused it here.

I lose downed people all the time. Sorry to anyone who had to bleed out, its often because I just can't remember where I left you.

Just because the game lets you do it doesn't mean it's not toxic. For example when a survivor sits and teabags at the exit or spams noise notifications for as long as possible. This stuff is allowed but still harmful to the experience, especially if done repeatedly.
Yeah those are examples of obnoxious behaviour and add nothing to the gameplay experience. But slugging has a place in game play its about applying pressure, if you slug all 4 then stand there for 3 mins, then yeah you are now doing a kind of killer equivalent of "teabagging" at the gate. But if you slug three and chase a 4th to down them too is it really 'toxic', now we are in a grey area. There is a false equivalency here between to two activities.
One could also say that taunting a killer at a pallet/window etc leads to tilt and can result in bad plays. I don't do this and it doesn't affect me if others do, its a "hey you do you", kind of thing. Its obnoxious but I'm not gonna get upset about it. The window noise notification can be annoying but I just turn my sound down a bit, besides they are basically applying free pressure to themselves by not doing anything productive why would I run over to stop that, its a gift.
If I'm a survivor and I'm slugged, I move away to hide, recover to maxed and hope for a revive, if everyone else is getting slugged and its not looking good the bleed out timer runs and I die, then I just shrug and queue for another game. Well done killer for getting everybody down before anyone could get picked up. Its not inherently toxic, its not the most interactive game but seriously is three minutes of waiting that detrimental to your fun that its game ruining?
I think people often apply malicious intent to any behaviour because its easier to cope with loss when there is a nemesis to blame for it. We all do it. 9 times out of 10 its just people playing the game, its often not worth getting upset about.

I disagree. I think that, when five people agree to play a friendly game together -- meaning, a game that's not a professional sport or an organized competition -- the most important thing is that they all have a good time. So, if you play in a way that makes it miserable for everyone else because you're more concerned with winning than with the social interaction you're having with the other players, I think you've missed the point.
I get the point you are making its a game its meant to be fun. But there is no agreement between parties that the game is friendly. Unless you are playing with you friends in a KYF custom then sadly you are playing with random people on the internet. Some of these people will be the kind of folk no-one would play with at anytime, we all know at least one person you don't want at game night. Those people are in abundance online. That said...
Some people might play to win, some might play to muck about, some might not care, some might care more than others. Any real pre-game agreement between parties is imagined. You place importance on everyone having a good time, that's great but its a competitive game some people play to win it.
Yes there are behaviours that are more obnoxious than others, but if the play is within the confines of the game rules (without abusing flawed mechanics) then its fair game.
The takeaway point here is that you can play the game anyway you like within the confines of the rules and you should expect people to play the game any way they like, because it's highly unlikely that everyone will play the game in the same manner that you choose to.
Getting upset at the game and crying toxic because of slugging is just silly, same as if you got flashlight blinded multiple times, or tunneled, or camped, or seriously looped, or 'Gen rushed', or body blocked on your way to the hook, or keyed out or 1 hook mori'd. All these things are in the game and you should expect them to happen.
I'm not saying people should do them but neither am I telling people that they shouldn't, I play in a way that I enjoy and hopefully isn't too obnoxious for the other players, but I'm not overly concerned about whether or not they find it "fun" because their definition of fun may be completely different from mine.
The main goal is if you understand how this game can be played and have realistic expectation of what can and might happen, then often you are more pleasantly surprised than annoyed at how things play out, at least I generally am.
Hence my statement that you are not responsible for anyone's fun and neither are they responsible for yours.
-
Not toxic at all, it's just another way to play the game. Remember you are not responsible for anyone's fun and neither are they responsible for yours.
This does not mean you go out of your way to grief and abuse but slugging is part of the game, I've layed there for 3 mins and bled out too and its nothing to get worked up about, if people get upset at you for doing it that's a them problem not a you problem.
-
no its not 'toxic' to bring a mori. Its part of the game, just as the map offering key combo is part of the game. No I'm not saying they are equivalent. The point is they are not toxic.

I do enjoy chases don’t get me wrong it’s just the repetitive nature of looping that bores me
in regards to what keeps me playing that is partially because of game lore and partially because i do still enjoy most of the game i just find looping tedious
I found games only felt repetitive at higher ranks. There are strong loops and players with more experience tend to hyperfocus on those loops as their main destination. So every chase starts to get predictable and often you make the decision to drop chase based on how close you are to the standard play loop. The double window in the asylum main building comes to mind.
Not to say they can't be played around or don't have counters but the predictability of it all makes for dull games. I found survivors mix it up a lot more in the mid ranks, making mistakes or running tiles sub optimally, allowing me to run tiles suboptimally and generally sweat less and get more creative on the mindgames.
The standard optimal tile runs are so well known now that common mindgames are almost formulaic at this point. Also a mistake in the mindgame genreally costs the killer more than the survivor so as killer your sweat factor goes up quite a bit when you game with folks who can run tiles optimally consistently.
I prefer the dreaded game of cat and mouse over ring-a-ring a rosey as both survivor and killer.
-
Running to spent hooks is survivor strategy. As killer the goal is to herd survivors away from such areas.
As killer I like to have an idea of where I'm going to hook someone before I down them and try and plan accordingly. I play a lot of set-up killer though Trapper and Hag so I like to hook folks among traps I'd placed earlier, than a new hook with new traps. Not everything goes to plan though.
I can see how it might be an 'outdated' mechanic but at the same time I think it adds an extra element to think about and makes the game more interesting overall. The map evolves as the game progresses, killers get pallets out of the way, survivors can leverage areas where hooks are out of the way.
-
I didn't realize that, time to give it another go. No more insta-sprint burst off the gen.

I think you missed the point again. I was mocking you for what you had written (unecessary but hey its the internet). Reread some of it, objectively.
The DC isn't about ego, as stated its about abusing a mechanic to end the game early because you get upset at the idea of being slugged and bleeding out. The "waste of your time" as you put it. Nothing to do with ego.
The ego comes from your posts since that, I especially like the one where you talk about how no-one DC's in your games basically because of how awesome you are when you play. Do you see why I mocked this one its almost Trump like in its delusion.
Lets recap your points so far...
- That I was going to cry about how frustrating killer is, but nope
- Pulled out the entitled to kills trope which I never said
- Stated how killer mains don't understand survivor frustration at being slugged, a classic
- Given an example about Huntress to try and justify your point, as a reply to more than my post, hence my searching for forum validation comment
- Made the point that you paid for the DC with bloodpoints which is kind of like saying I paid to speed with my speeding ticket, its just silly.
- Stated that your intention is to deny a 4 kill by DC because you are annoyed
- Stated that you don't have any ruleset to play by but go on to call slugging etc nooby, scummy play that you will DC when it happens also anyone who defends those tactics "is a joke" (your words), sounds like you have an idea of how the game should be played
- You keep saying you were "evening the playing field" with your DC when you were really just quitting because you didn't want to wait (another attempt to justify yourself)
- Wrote a paragraph about how you never get DC's because you play in a way that is fun for all
- Stated your belief that I am an offender of these tactics that you don't approve of, another assumption and how's that rulebook coming along?
- Stated your belief that I get mad and cry when I don't get a 4k, another assumption.
- You've also stated a few times how many years you have been playing the game for, which is probably an attempt to generate some percieved authority on the matter but I can't make an assessment from that alone
Can you see how someone reading that would think "boy there is some ego here."
You are either making assumptions about me to support your view, humans do that in the absence of facts its a psychological defence mechanism we all do it, you're assuming my emotional state too by saying I'm upset but I'm purely objective in my assessment, free of emotion, responding solely to the points you've made. Yet again all of these points still fail to come back to the original statement.
"DC'ing for the hatch is abusing a mechanic to end the game early and could be considered scummy". None of what you have said has countered this point that I first made.
You've made some perjorative assumptions about me to undermine my point but this is basically a 'strawman' method of argument. Tried hard to justify your behaviour with examples and then went on to talk about how long you've been playing and how great you are at the game. Again none of this is counter to the point. I'm not sure what your goal was.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it (unecessary passive aggression but hey its the internet). If you don't read it no biggie, it doesn't matter either way.

I think you don't get the point. You are NOT supposed to leave no matter what. You consider slugging toxic? Ok but there are people who do not view it like that. It is part of the game. DCing however is not intended to be used and exploited to gain any advantage which is why there should harsh punishments for leavers. If you don't like, then maybe another game might be a better option for you.
Also using a good played like Tofu does not make your argument valid in any kind of way. He is good and does not slug. Does that mean I'm not allowed to slug? No. Does it mean slugging is "toxic"? No. It only shows that really good players do not need it and nothing more.
Sadly not everyone does amazing as him or you every match and I'm sure you would not like the idea of 9 out of 10 matches being 4ks.
Btw a killer's objective is to kill the survivors and slugging is a legimate strategy to reach that goal. That means they are playing the game and not wasting time even if it appears to be that way to you.
It's clear he doesn't get the point, I tried and failed and now he's just defensive and falling back on tired insults.

Once lost a slugged suvivor and they crawled across the map and hatched out. Kudos where kudos are due, that is a true survivor.

I didn't ask for anyones approval. You're just assuming I did for whatever reason. Ive been playing for 4 years, I don't need anyone's approval.
So it's okay to slug for a 4k but I can't kill myself voluntarily? I'm giving the killer his kill, but I'm not wasting any time with it. There is no skill required in slugging for a 4k thus it shouldn't be respected. If you're going to slug me and make me bleed out without having any intention to pick me up either for a 4k or for using me as bait, I will dc. I'm not having my time wasted and I'm not being used to help you get easy kills. I don't respect people like that.
Did I say I expect people to play by some made up rules. No. I didn't, so stop with the forum coin terms. I am taking myself out of the game, that isn't making anyone play by my rules. If anything, you seem to be the only one wanting to force people to play with your play style.
I never experience players dc'ing in my matches when I'm killer. I don't tunnel. I don't slug. I don't camp. I play in a way that is fun for not only myself but others as well. Everyone in the match including myself gets a ton of bloodpoints and almost always pips. I usually get 4ks but I will every other match get a 3k cause a survivor got to the hatch before me. I'm constantly getting better because I don't rely on scummy unfun tactics that only rank 20s should be using. If you can only get a 4k by slugging, I simply don't respect you enough to give you the easy 4k. I'll accept a defeat when I get outplayed or even if I make a mistake. But not if you do cheap nooby plays that literally have 0 counterplay.
Oh my god man, pat yourself on the back much, your whole post is trying to justify your DC, it's kinda sad.
If only we all played so benevolently, you raise us up to a better standard by being so awesome. Check your bullshit and come back to earth with the rest of us.
"I simply do not respect you enough to give you the easy 4K" That's gotta be one of the most pretentious loads of crap I ever read on the forums. I see this is a lost cause your ego is so big its clouded your judgement.
All I see here is a guy who gets pissy when he's slugged and DC's out because of it. Do that if you like, but don't pretend its anything else but a rage quit. Sorry to waste your valuable time. Just wow.
-
Ok I see what you mean by 'paid' for your DC now. If you want to justify your DC by saying you payed in blood points and are ok with it, then go for it you don't need the forum's approval to DC.
There is a reason they penalize you for DC though, you're not supposed to do it.
Slugging for the 4k isn't toxic. I'm sorry you feel it is but frankly its not, its more scummy to exploit the DC for the hatch than it is to slug for a 4k.
Also if you decide to DC because you are annoyed isn't that kind of a rage quit? or maybe an annoyance quit if we are splitting hairs.
I'd hate to say it to but the killer is not responsible for your fun just as you are not responsible for theirs.
Yes there are obnoxious behaviors on both sides but its hardly worth getting annoyed at and you can't just assume that another player is toxic because they don't play to your personal set of game rules.
I'm afraid if you are purposefully DC'ing with the intent of robbing someone of a 4k because you are annoyed by them, then that is a great example of toxic behaviour.

I'm not abusing anything. I'm not going to be left on the ground for three minutes till I bleed out cause they can't find that fourth survivor. That's wasting my time and preventing me from moving on and joining a new game.
Killers aren't entitled a 4k just cause they think they did good, just as survivors aren't entitled to survive every match. If you're going to leave me on the ground, I'm leaving the match.
And before you cry that I don't understand how frustrating playing killer is, I also play killer and have no issue getting 4ks without slugging. Most of my games end when there are 2 or 1 gens left, so hatch has spawned and I mostly came across it already in a chase. Even if I didn't, it gives the survivor an equal chance to escape, just like how I have an equal chance to find them or hatch first. And if I get a 3k, then it's the same if I get a 4k, gg wp glnr.
Killer mains truly don't understand how annoying and frustrating it is to just sit there, slowly dying because they don't believe in their own abilities to find the last person. They deny themselves the challenge of the final race at the end.
That huntress I said I dc'ed for was literally using me as bait and it got 2 of my teammates killed because of it. You know how crappy that makes me feel, that I was used as bait and I played a part in getting my team killed because they chose to be nice and try to save me? It makes me feel awful. The last guy, Felix, got me up but huntress was ofc right there and literally shook her camera no at me cause she knew I was too far away from any hook so I'd wiggle free, so she downed me and left me there again and went after Felix. I just had enough and left, and a second later he had gotten hatch. I paid for dc'ing, forfeiting all the bloodpoints I earned, running killer around for 3 gens, unhooking and healing all my teammates, doing 3 totems including a hex totem, and doing 2 gens and a half. But I'm fine with that because I let my teammate have an equal chance to win.
Sigh... I never said that the killer was entitled to 4k or anything else. I only asked what you propose as an alternative if they go for the 4k, which is part of the game and anyone can go for. I also am not about to cry about how frustrating killer is, but nice attempt to counter my point with irrelevant clichés. Also I like the way you go into the "killer's don't understand how survivors feel" trope though right after accusing me of going to do the same for killers.
Yes I mainly play killer but I also play both sides and I don't DC when I'm slugged because its part of the game, you may get picked up you may not, but DC'ing is abusing a mechanic to force an earlier game end.
If you don't want to lie there, fine play how you want to play but you can't get stroppy when someone calls you out for it.
I don't know why you feel so awful for your team mates getting killed because one killer used you as bait on the ground... that's the game we all signed up to play, kudos for the killer for being able to leverage a wounded individual for extra kills.
"You paid to DC" no you CHOSE to DC.
Yes the killer was being a bit obnoxious but it sounds like you had a full game given all you listed you did, but then couldn't stand the few mins on the ground at the end so you DC and rage out. Can't you see how that's kind of a you problem.

Also, don’t know if you play Survivor but its impossible for a Blendette to hide in a bush the entire game, crows exist. Either way, a Killer has to have a 3K for that Blendette to even have a chance at hatch, which is a W for me as Killer, don’t know about you. A mori requires the Killer to tunnel off hook, press R2/RT/M1 and remove a whole Survivor out of match. Thats not even close to genwork, especially if you’re playing against Survivors who potato/are bad at looping.
Mori doesn't require you to tunnel off hook. I just requires a hook, when a mori gets used is up to the killer and unless its a survivor sided snowball requiring a quick take down, then its more blood points to re hook than to 1 hook mori.
-
How else do you propose they go for the 4k?
Its odd that you would abuse a mechanic just to deprive another player of going for a perfectly acceptable goal in game.

Most definetly a skill-less one if so
I get it may not be the most fun to be tunneled, but how is it skill-less or not strategic?
Chases require the same elements regardless.
Now if its about spreading pressure effectively then tunneling ain't great if you have only one injured and everyone healthy, but that's just a bad play. Now if you have good pressure across multiple wounded survivors and some on death hook. The choice to tunnel one out becomes very advantageous.
You may also tunnel someone down when you get the hit on a healthy rescuer, to have them speed burst into a very strong loop leaving the recently unhooked out of position in a relatively dead zone. It is now kinda stupid of you to continue to chase the rescuer when you can reset the pressure you just had by downing the unhooked quickly and slugging or re-hooking them. The decision to do this is a tactical one based on where current survivors are positioned post unhook.
Are you sure tunneling requires no skill or strategy or is it more a case of "I got tunneled and it pissed me off so I'm gonna rant about it,"

Shrug - on the internet, all feedback is crying, unless you personally agree with it.
Keys are just frustrating, much in the same way higher tier Moris are. And forget Franklins, I can't think of the last time someone used a key and didn't pick it at the final millisecond.
If I see one, I'll dodge. If you cheat and pick it at the last second (ditto triple toolbox) and I'm playing one of my weaker killers, I'll just duck the match. No harm, no foul, you can find another killer.
Yeah I duck that crap too.

Tbh most survivor think a Killer HAS to obey these rules (which is wrong: we do it cuz we are nice players or want to challenge ourself).
Tunneling / Camping (talkin about makin sure a survivor dies after he reached second hook not face camping from the start) is doing your objective a efficient way (and this is a fact).
Some salty survivor are super offended by Killers abusing their weakness when they do the same by doing gens as fast as possible (you could do it slower when you see the killer is struggling but will you slow down?).
Noed: Its just a revenge perk after you lost the game a good Killer will bring perks to help win the Game. Nothing wrong with it cuz they can just do bones to counter it and even if they die to noed they still had a full game of making bloodpoints.
Mori: Pure Bullshit (similar to Keys). Being able to speed up Killing is not very good for the Game (they should only work after 2 hooks).
So in the end play as you wish (just dont use moris unless the devs force you with dailys and challenges).
I typically bring a mori for the last couple of games of the night. Its just a bit of fun. When they get used is often dictated by how much its snowballing for or against me in the match. If its 2-3 gens and I'm on 1-2 hooks then if I find a hooked guy he's probably getting mori'd, nothing personal just business.

I find tactical camping to be an invaluable tool. Not standing next to someone and waiting for them to die, but trying to bait survivors into engaging away from areas that they are strong.
I'm still very much an intermediate killer, but wow - has this been useful, especially against SWF teams who tend to be overly altruistic at times.
It can be. Its just part of the game.
Like knowing when to drop a chase because the guy your on is in strong spot and will likely loop you for several gens. At no point does the looping guy stop and say we've looped this enough lets run toi the next thing for more fun. You as killer have to force them off the loop, just as a coordinated team can bait a killer away from a hook.
It's not the most effecient tactic but it has its place like everything else. Especially against overly alturistic teams.
Best game today was a three basement hook killer shack lockdown with trapper.

Camping
This one is simple.
If you camp, you pressure one guy.
You might get the kill (though between BT, DS, and Bodyblocks who knows), but the 120 seconds it takes somebody to die on hook translates to 360 man-seconds of work that can be done on generators, out of 400 that are required to power the exit gates.
You also lose rank and get next to no points for it.
Tunneling
The killer should tunnel if given the opportunity.
Thing is, DS exists, so that opportunity rarely arises.
Always go for the easiest target.
Mori
It's boring.
You get no points.
You lose rank.
They're expensive in the bloodweb.
NoED
Because the perk just isn't very good.
Especially with Undying in the mix it's pretty common to see people run Detective's Hunch now, so NoED likely won't survive to endgame.
Even if it does, this has all the weaknesses of a Tier 3 Myers. If you catch everybody clumped together on the same gen and get a 4-man Slug in the endgame to turn it around, GREAT. That's almost never gonna happen though. You're still pretty easy to loop, and most of the time you're probably gonna get one down (if that), and there's a decent chance they're already injured anyways.
Why run NoED to maybe clutch the endgame when you can run Haunted Ground for the same number of downs, but at a point in the game where you can still snowball off of them?
These are all good reasons not to do some of the things on the list and when to do some of them, but none of them are reasons to tell someone else not to do them. Like I said play how you want to play. There is no rule book anything goes until death or escape.
-
Yeah can't say I care about keys, I might bring franklin's or a mori if I see one just to try and counter it, but if all four key out I can queue again for another game and forget all about the last game. That's the great thing about it being a game.
I think its a shame that you don't bring keys anymore because of the forums, it means the cry babies are having an effect on the gaming community and that is never good.
-
Everyone should just play as they want to play. I've played 10 survivor games today and have been tunneled 4x, face camped 2x and mori'd 4x although 2 of those 4 tunnel and mori overlap as I was tunneled off hook into a mori and you know what... I don't care.
I had fun, I ran around, I did some gens, I escaped a few times even after an attempted tunnel and if I got mori'd (even after 1 hook) I watched the animation because some of them a really sick, I love em. Then I queued again and still didn't care, thats the best part about this, its a game and it doesn't matter. I de-piped a couple of times, pipped up a couple of times, black pipped and am a level higher than I was when I started but again who cares.
I've played about 10 killer games one serious hook sabo grief squad that really powered through the gens but with it going south I switched to tunneling out one guy and camping the other in the egc for a very salty 2-2. My response gg wp. I got destroyed tonight for about 6 games and finished out with 3 great games on Hag Trapper and Doc, completeing a few rift challenges. People t-bagged, clickity clicked, pointed, post game chat abused me but again I don't care its a game. At least 6-8 people have keyed out an escape on me tonight and I don't care. I've also had some great post game chuckles with good people who can game like adults, people like that make the game better.
I also burned 4 moris, one useless netting me only one kill, (they were very good), one totally destroying everyone de-pips single hook mori run with legion for a daily, and the rest I played em if I felt like it. I'm one rank lower today than I was yesterday and I DON'T CARE.
Its a game its fun, we all need to stop the whining, the moaning, the no counter play, delete mori's/keys cry baby overeactions and just play the game.
Beacuse its meant to be fun, if its not why play?
(Numbers are estimates I really don't keep track of this #########, I have a real job to work at this is supposed to be just for fun).

Yes, but I'm guessing that's not what OP means by the term. Also, it's in all caps, so maybe it's an acronym?
Outside of the other definitions of POG given, I think maybe they meant PONG, the classic Atari game given the alchemists power

How is it terrible? Seems pretty accurate. Pain got many faces.
Not really, you're comparing a literal physical interaction with real consequences to a fantasy interaction with little to no real consequence. The motivation may be similar, to ruin some else's day, but that doesn't mean its an equivalent analogy.
Given the rather consequence free environment of the internet, bad, childish, salty, trolling, abusive etc etc players can only really ruin your time if you let them. Yes they are crappy people, yes I'd rather not game with them, but the last thing I'd do is get upset about it, its a game. It was a crappy evening last night online and I though "well that's enough of that" and played boardgames instead.
I'm not saying toughen up or anything like that we all get ######### at things, and emotional pain is just as valid as physical pain, but sometimes you gotta put it in perspective, it's hardly akin to a punch in the face and really shouldn't be.

Rubberband I noticed when they increased the tick rate. It happens the most at pallets when I stun a killer. If I drop pallet on same side as killer and killer hits me I can watch the killer teleport to other side of pallet. Alot of times I'm downed at the pallet when this happens, can tell killer is confused because they look for my body before either kicking or going around pallet to get back to me.
I've had this happen as killer. You pop through the pallet and have to turn around and break it to pick up the survivor behind you, really threw me the first time as from my perspective I got the hit and then stunned with the survivor going down ahead of me across the pallet.
Getting some serious stuttering during chase too, makes landing the juke hits hard and often extends chases beyond what they should have been.

Generally less enjoyable as killer in the red ranks. Harder (as you'd expect) I mean 4x meta perk builds every match, 3-4x tool boxes or medkits every match, keys up the wazoo but that's just game mechanics you can't really lament that. You definitely have to sweat and slug more, but I'm toxic if do so and moreso if I bring a mori no matter after which hook or how many times I use it.
By less fun I mean all the predictable play, rank 1 and red ranks in general is about milking every mechanic you can for advantage so the game is usually a very predictable loopy loop around the same un-mindgamable piece of crap till the pallet drops. People always seem to run to the exact same places again and again and while that's easy to predict it gets dull fast. Makes playing trapper at red ranks easier as seriously rank ones get caught in the same trap time and again every game.
The kicker is the salt, the never ending salt, you get into the reds and people cherish their rank like its their baby, god forbid someone de-pips in the red ranks after a game get ready for the salt. Just take your loss, say GG and move on (same goes for bad winners). Not every game is negative but I feel a greater proportion are in the reds.
The sweet spot is the greens to mid purps, I don't have to sweat, I run silly builds, games are all over the place making them less predictable and generally more fun as a result and typically everyone has a laugh. Casual gaming is a gem.

I am dead serious about this being a hex.
Nurse's calling you have to hide and be far away to heal to counter it.
Bitter murmur requires you to finish a generator for the killer to see you.
Making BBQ and chili a hex or a scream silhouette would make the perk more fair.
Having finished hooking a survivor you can easily just walk to where you saw the survivor (How does that require skill?)
It's sad that killers need so many aura reading abilities to find survivors when you can easily just listen for whining from them or scratch marks from them running.
It literally takes no skill to be a killer.
We can all listen to the whining coming from them ahaha, but in all seriousness there are plenty of counters to BBQ and Chilli, Hex perks should be far more powerful than what BBQ offers given how easy it is to counter them.

I've been banging that drum since I arrived. Guess people prefer whiny partisanship.

This is too much work for BHVR to ever do. I think a couple of simpler mechanics (that are already in the game so should be easy to implement) are:
Fix face camping:
- Make it so when a killer is camping (can use the same criteria as the chaser emblem) that all other survivors receive a 50% bonus to their repair speeds. Can tweak the number, but basically, make it so if the killer facecamps, that all gens can get done before the survivor dies, giving the team a chance to even save that survivor. Right now if survivors stay on gens they can finish 4.5 gens before the survivor dies (does not include time between each gen). But if they had 50% more speed then they could finish 9 gens in that time, almost assuring that they get all the gens done.
- Make kindred base kit
Fix Tunneling and proxy camping:
- Make is so when a survivor is rescued from a hook they go into a new state called "ethereal" which behaves exactly like spirits power for the survivor. They become invisible, they have no collision, they move at like double speed, they leave no scratch marks, and they make no sound, they can see the killer's aura, they can see other survivors and other survivors can see them. This effect lasts for 20 seconds (same as BT) or until they get healed, or start repairing a gen, or basically do any action other than run.
- After that you need to rework BT and a few other perks like We'll make it to make them more viable for that scenario.
After that, you need to buff killers a bit, especially in the early game. I'd suggest to do something like, make it so generator speeds are halved until the first chase starts (similar to Scott Jund's trial warmup) or some other mechanism to change the early game.
- Sadly things like this have been trialed, it results in survivor teams staying near hooks for the buff and generally exploiting the mechanic, so it doesn't really work.
- This basically creates an unsafe hook farming bonanza.
- There are perks to counter these elements of the game and it just takes some coordination to work around but its not impossible.
-
They are complaining about a game. That’s the saddest thing of all. 🙁
-
I’d say for gen regression, clown, plague or doc.
I use pop goes the weasel a lot so I’d say clown. He’s also fun to play.
I like all of plague’s perks but I struggle to do well with her so I’m biased there but the perks are good.
gen killer doc is great to play and monitor and overcharge aren’t bad on some killers. But it’s really one build.
I’d say clown.

I main hag and trapper :)
She requires forethought and caution.
Playing her you want set up a web of traps but don't go too overboard in a confined area of they can be popped really easily. The strategic set up mid game pay off is what I enjoy most about her. It's also better to hook someone near a trap you placed earlier than it is to trap a hook after the fact. Don't drop ten traps around a single hook that is easily countered.
When going against her, It jst takes a bit more time and care, crouch more, anticipate that high traffic areas where survivors always run are usually trapped so a standrad loop you might run to may need to be played differently. You gotta mix it up a bit.
Charge through her traps around a hook and pop em all while running off, she'll either waste time replacing them or be unable to port to you with any real conseqence. One the traps are gone she is slow. No good hag will chase you where there are no traps but she'll trap loops in chase that you are trying mindgame around so be wary.
Crouch up to gens and hooks and crouch out.
Different killers with varied mechanics keep the game ineteresting.

Its an interesting idea but, while the coordination between swf on coms can really tilt a game, this nerf seems overly punishing.
Also the killers being able to see swf teams would result in a lot of lobby dodging and increased queue times I don't think it would improve much. Not to mention the self justification of negative play because its swf.
-
Eh I just ignore the salt and obnoxious in game behaviour. We all know that one person who is no fun to game with, well you get them from time to time in online games. This includes the salt tantrum sore loser crowd and the gg ez bad winner crowd, these people are typically one and the same. Often it makes me laugh more than anything else because after all its only a game.

Hatch is fine. It prevents the single survivor hostage scenario.
plus it creates a high stakes moment at the endgame with a real time limited cat and mouse kind of play.
I like that element I don’t want to be wandering around looking for kill 4 for 20 mins. I never bother to slug for the 4K these days. If the players have to hatch out you’ve won. If you get to the hatch then there is only one of two places you need to be once it’s closed.
if you want to be benevolent and give someone the hatch you can still win that chase for the bps and carry them to it.
-
I like a nice quiet lobby. 😌
-
Can’t say I’m too concerned about it. Those who last minute switch scream and die the same as those who don’t.
-
I like the high stakes hatch hunt. Bit of tension at the end of the game.

I like the way you framed this question. Not saying all survivors or killers X, but rather when people rant about this what is their intent?
I think the real issue is even they don't know. Basically people have a bad game and come to the forum to rant about it.
Its rarely constructive and is often asking for something so ludicrous that when you really stand back and look at it objectively it makes no sense.
"Delete camping" for example, I mean... what does that even mean?
I think the same goes for the DS, UB rants.
I'm not saying all posts about these topics are rants, but a large proportion of them are rarely objective and often just opinionated or plain ludicrous or even toxic.
When someone does say something objective or informative typically the OP jumps down their throat purely for being rational. As the goal isn't to discuss the issue the goal is simply to complain about it and recieve expected comiserations.
You can't frame a post like that in "they need to alter the game because I had a bad one" because that's a bad reason to alter the game.
On a side note I'd love to play against bots instead then the onus is solely on me to play as I like without regard for anyone. Not that I hold much regard for folks who take online gaming to seriously anyway.
