My poor Nan-chan, gone so soon๐ญ๐
I never knew consoles could be hacked.
Probably a bug more so than a hack, but hey I don't know, there were hack packs for the atari 2600 and NES, SNES and 64 too. Don't own a next gen console.
-
Not really but I get where you are coming from. I really enjoyed playing old bubba, but I enjoy new bubba more.
-
Hey if you enjoy the grind there is nothing wrong with it, I just don't, so I look for more tangible benefits to it, so far I haven't really found any to justify the effort.
-
Outside of the cosmetics the purpose it seems is to create the completionist mentality to keep playing.
Some people got nuts for the grind to get everything completed and if they want to do that good for them, but some feel compelled and its this kind of thinking that mmo's and online games tend to build on. It keeps people coming back. Hence the grind.
I got prestige 2 on doc for the bloody coat as it seemed thematically appropriate but I'm done grinding.
-
I don't wanna live!
In all seriousness though that looks pretty sus. He appears behind you and then walks to pick you up so I could see lag perhaps but, the fact you went from healthy to down with no exposed draws some serious attention to that.

There was no overreaction. There you go, blowing it out if proportion and being dramatic. Again.
Bullying a killer cause he brings a Mori isn't childish. Its called getting even. If a killer has the intent of taking me out of the game early then fine, that's toxic but he can do that. Just like how I can bully him and get my deserved bloodpoints. You clearly have an issue with that cause you think it's childish when it literally isn't. I'm using what's provided to me in this game. You think I'm aggressive so you clearly get tilted at things easily if you think I'm aggressive. I'm just laying down the facts about it and you can't handle that. You did it on my post and you do it here.
"Its called getting even", "I can bully him and get my deserved bloodpoints". This is what I'm talking about. Your inability to see that is what I mean by lack of insight. Your post here isn't an argument against my point, its an argument for it, hence poor debate.
You need to chill out, there is no need to 'get even' or 'get what your deserved' just play the game.
-
I find I get better traction from discordance than corrupt.
Unless survivors split up continually which can happen.
Sloppy, thana, pop, discordance is a generic slowdown build I find often takes the pressure off.
Typically I throw in BBQ because I like blood points and a couple of chase perks rather than the mentioned build and just try my best to be constantly pressuring people off gens. Most games are ok some games are a write off.

The rant posts on here are understandable, I haven't made one(yet) but the intent is fine. Some people have their ways of blowing off steam. Some will mori or bully killers, others come on here to share their experience. The rant one is healthier as it prevents toxic play and has the added bonus of people with good heart, though that may be rare, coming to support the affected.
True I neglected the cathartic element of it. (Heck I've done it). We're all a little bit guilty and even for all my "don't take it seriously" there are some times when I say to myself phew log off you are getting antsy.

Except I did give you a coherent argument but you refused to listen. I was "aggressive" cause you immediately started calling me immature when you don't even know me. Name-calling isn't an argument. You lost your debate and then started saying the same thing over and over again. The debate was also faulty cause you made no points and assumed everything, pulling random ######### from your ass.
But as you said, that's not the reason of this post so don't reply to me anymore if you're gonna act immature like how you love to say about me. Don't attack people or assume things about people and not expect them to fire back. That's childish. Grow thicker skin and stop being so offended by everything. Bye.
All I said was your overreaction to being mori'd was silly, and maybe a childish response to a computer game mechanic. I still stand by that assessment given your behaviour since.
None of this offends me, this is a you problem that I pointed out, not very delicately, its not me that needs a thicker skin mate. I'm not phased by what happens in a game or on a forum I just commented on something I thought was a bit childish of a response. If you can't handle a comment like that about it, it then why post it?
I really should have left it, dead horse and all, but your lack of insight baffles me. But this is becoming tit for tat and there are no winners there so nuff' said.

I don't like losing because its my favorite game. But I don't resort to toxicity unless the killer camps or tunnels.
But even if killers camp or tunnel there is still no point to being toxic about it just move on.
-
Hey its a bad match up it happens to everyone. Sometimes you get a string of them. DC don't DC doesn't matter, you chose to opt out and by the reaction from the survivors you made the right choice, why play with negative people.
That said though you are gonna get a lot of these games till mmr gets fixed (and possibly even after its "fixed") So the role with the punches advice isn't bad, take it less seriously and it'l be fun no matter what happens.
-
This game is fun and you have the right idea. The less serious you take it the more fun you have.
Careful suggesting this to people though they get very upset at the idea of not taking it seriously and having fun.
-
We all have that one person we know, who we don't want at board game night because they are sore losers and bad winners. Making it negative overall. With random online gaming that choice is made for you, so you get to play with the people you wouldn't normally game with at any other time.
The forums are a little similar just look at all the "I had a bad game", "I overreact to game mechanics or outcomes" rant posts.
We all need to just chill out and play the game, killers and survivors alike. A fun game where everyone has a laugh at the end regardless of outcome is the best game.

Damn, I do pretige some characters just cause without ever using the skins, hehehe. OCD?
Online games (MMO's especially) have the completionist mentality as a large part of their hook. I gave it up a long time ago and feel better for it.
How many wow dungeons did I grind for gear. Vanilla black rock depths still gives me shivers. Guild master and main tank I got every one of my guildies onyxia keys. Never again will I go down the black hole of internet grind.
-
@Orion said:
Why would I lose all my perks, items, and offerings just for a cosmetic? I hate grinding.
This is why.
I mean if its your thing then great go for it but I personally think its a waste of time. Plenty of other cosmetics are dark and stealthy I don't need to grind up the blood soaked ones purely for that.
The bragging rights are really just, I spent enough time on this to get that, its kind of an everyone gets a trophy level of achievement and nothing to brag about really. Any genuine "prestige" from it is imagined.
It doesn't denote skill it denotes time spent online which isn't that intimidating either.
So the three points for prestige as stated aren't very convincing to me.
As a pragmatist the only reason I see for getting prestige ranks is "I want a particular cosmetic". If you want to put in the time to get the cosmetic then go for it, but that is really the only tangible reason.

Aren't you the one who was pushing a false made-up narrative and pulling things out of your ass to try and prove a point on my post? Yeah your opinion doesn't matter to me and you're the last person who should be talking about being bad at debates.
Yeah and you failed to come up with any coherent counter point in that thread too. The 'false narrative', as you put it, was you were unnecessarily abusive and aggressive and you responded by being unnecessarily abusive and aggressive, very similar to a lot of your posts here.
If you are incapable of responding with a coherent point without resorting to insults and straw man arguments then you aren't very good at debate. I doesn't surprise me that I have to point this out a second time though. Don't worry I won't do it again no point flogging a dead horse as it were.
But this is not the point of the thread and I have no intention of hijacking it. Enough said.

Never specified which side was generalising just an assumption you made.
Point taken, It was an assumption I made given the title.
That said you are always gonna get stupid responses to any topic posted, such as "you just want easy wins" etc etc, and yeah it should be called out.
But its better to ignore that crap and respond to the relevant posts about suggested counter play (given the spirit example you gave), I sometimes feel people don't want to discuss the topic they posted, they are looking for an echo chamber for people to just agree with them.
-
Yeah I really couldn't be bothered to 'prestige' any more characters. I got doc's bloody coat purely because it looks appropriate for the character, that's it. Its to much of a grind and there isn't that much difference in the bloodweb items really.
-
I've always enjoyed killer more than survivor but the latter is growing on me as I've played more to finish the rift. I'd say you get a good mix of games with 'bad' and 'good' survivors. All I want is people who still do objectives while I'm hanging on a hook rather than just hiding in a corner.

Do you even know what entitled means pleb? Lol maybe look it up before trying and failing at coming at me.
You've used that word incorrectly yourself. Glass houses and all. Debate is not your strong point, you should stop.
To the OP a post complaining about killers generalizing all survivors is just a post doing the same to killers. We all need to stop with the constant them and us rhetoric it serves no purpose other than to divide the community and add to forum salt and toxicity.
-
Ok so you guys have a good game evade the killer and they camp the one kill they might get. No big deal its to be expected. You guys powered through gens its your objective, the killer secured one kill its their objective. You all wanted to escape together and didn't get to but that really doesn't matter. Everyone had a full game there should be nothing to complain about.
The behaviour of the killer was unnecessary and kind of obnoxious, but it can only upset you if you let it same as flash light clicking and butt dancing they really have no impact and shouldn't bother anyone.
Before people start throwing around the 'entitled' label, what I'm saying is anything goes until folks escape or are sacrificed. An EGC hook camp play is a good way to secure a single kill and sometimes just what is required after a good survivor snowball. Yes you played a better game and technically won but that doesn't mean you deserve to escape.
So after a full game where everyone got to play your friend got downed hooked, and downed and hooked again and basically tantrum DC'd because of it, right at the end of the game.
I don't see a killer vs survivor issue here I see a group of whiny bad sports who should just suck it up and play the game rather than throwing a tantrum about it, and that goes for both sides in this case.

Im just done with you because you're trying to act as if you're high and mighty, judging other people's play style and pushing your narrative that has no backbone. Dead by daylight is a competitive game. You are competing against the opposite side. People can take competition games seriously. Doesn't mean that they're not having fun or is upset so what's the point of even playing. No where did I say I was upset, it's just annoying to be instantly taken out of a game I waited to get into and wasted offerings and items for. And so what if I want to be toxic? 8/10 killers I play against use some different forms of toxic behavior to win. Why is it any different if I do it? Or if I do it to have fun? Is tbagging toxic to you? Do you find the spam of the crouch button toxic? Do you lecture the majority of the player base on why that's mean etc? No, you probably don't, so don't try to do it here. I play to have fun and that's exactly what I have. How I have fun is none of your concern or business. The reason I am aggressive in my replies to you is because you instantly come into my post being judged and calling me immature. Don't get passive aggressive with me then cry about my replies being more direct then vague like you.
wow youโre frothing like a rabid animal. Reread that, it makes no sense whatsoever. But sure thing mate whatever you say. I still think you need to chill out.

How does no one understand that injuring a 4man with awesome perks and med kits isn't pressure? And how does no one seem to understand that what they are suggesting is literally impossible.
"Just drop and hit them all" body blocked at a fence, can't get to others. I hit one, dropped, hit another, picked up David as they ran away, they ran back to block and David wiggled out. Stunned they run away leaving the healthy survivor. With me.
"It's free pressure bro" have you played killer? Honestly? With four med kits, maybe three and a toolbox, I can't remember, they can spread out and heal pretty ######### quick, and get on a gen. No pressure exerted. I had surge, nurses, I'm all ears, and Barbeque. All good perks that didn't help much.
I am not asking about advice on how to get out of the bad situation that you are imagining, I am complaining about the bad situation that actually happened to me.
I understand perfectly. The issue is, the answer to the problem is hit the survivors. If they are off healing then they aren't doing gens. This short inetrchange should not cost the game it should only slow down one hook state slightly for free hits on extra survivors. If they run off to heal what has been lost... nothing. With nurses you should be able to find at least one of them healing and that is an easy down.
If it is a problem then run sloppy and thana. The question is if this one event causes such a loss of momentum as to screw up your game what are you doing with the rest of the time?
We offered advice becasue this scenario shouldn't be the game changer you are describing. It can be annoying but if you look at it from an objective progress point of view its actually stacked in your favour as killer. I don't even drop anyone anymore I find I'm better off hitting folks in the way and keep pressing to the hook. Most times I get 2 to 3 hits and still end up hooking the carried survivor.
If they try that in chase then again the solution is smack them. DS, UB and the rest of the often lamented perks are most powerful in the endgame so if you haven't drawn them out early then its a lost cause anyway don't lament it just try and draw those things out earlier which is easier to do if the survivors are jumping into you for free hits.
If you didn't want people to offer up their thoughts why did you make the post? If its just to complain then all I can say is don't sweat it and try and take the game a little less serious.
-
Yeah look at it another way, all four guys on that hook means no gen progression so they paid all that gen time to try and deny 1 hook state. Its the survivors giving you free pressure. Drop the David or not just hit everyone and apply wounded, if you get to the hook great if not you have one health state off everyone for free and maybe one down if you dropped in time.
Shouldn't be to hard to get a second hit on at least one of them and get that down. If they block again its more downs this time.
So now you have 1 hook 3 wounded maybe one extra down. Its a gift.
-
There is a solution to aggressive BT body blocking play, its M1.

Same. I'm a killer main.
Trying to get into Survivor more. Between BP dumping and the Shrine over time, I have the perks for Claudette, David, Meg, Jake, Bill, and Laurie all unlocked.
But I SoloQ, and being Rank 19 it is absolute hell with teammates that don't know their left from their right, or what a Generator looks like.
Yeah the hang on hook while everyone sits in a corner is brutal. That said I'm really crap at looping as survivor so I'm torn about my new rank. It was great in the browns and yellows but in the greens its just well dammit caught again.
So far ts been David and Kate. No survivor unlocks yet, haven't invested the blood points.

Whoever I have a daily or a rift for, I play killer mostly.
Although survivor is growing on me.

19 comments out of 1000 is 1.9%. So you closed a thread that had 30+ pages over 1000 comments because of 1.9% ? Think about that for a second. Personally, I find it ironic that you closed a very well behaved thread then cobbled together all the rest that are now ACTUALLY bashing the company. Not only that, now we are pointing out bhvr practices in much more public places.
was it worth it?
I don't think they meant 19 in total just 19 in a span of 20 mins after the warnings were issued (correct me if I'm wrong). If a mod pops in and says this is getting out of hand tone it down and the response is crank it up and get more irate then it will probably get closed down. Its not really a big surprise.
That said performance across all platforms should be a priority now given crossplay.

Is not toxic lmfao you're reading so far into this to push a false narrative. What are you? Dbd jesus? Get off your high horse. The only one upset here is you buddy, bully is a term most survivors use when they play as good as they can, making the killer miss, juking them, escaping every time. Its just the term we have use instead of saying outplayed. Its not promoting toxicity, how you turned it into that is beyond me. You clearly haven't been playing this game long enough.
And if you want to talk about moris being fair and in the game (which they're not fair, anyone with a braincell can see that and even the devs see that) then I can make the argument that God looping and juking is also in the game. Hence why I do it to bully killers WHO INSTANTLY WANT TO TAKE ME OUT OF THE GAME. That's not fair to me but oh no, poor killer and his ebony Mori, just let him use it it's in the game. ๐๐๐
Moris aren't fair for survivors just like keys aren't fair for killers, hence why the devs are looking into changing both to work differently. So get out of here with that bs. Yes I did respond aggressively cause you're going to sit there with your entitled self and call me immature for playing a certain way to avoid being moried. Cry me a river.
You've missed my point completely. The fairness of mori's or keys wasn't up for debate. The topic which you started was that you act in a bullyish manner to people who bring a mori.
Now if your use of that term is to mean you play to the best of your ability to avoid being mori'd, good for you.Typically it denotes behaviour with the intent of ruining someone else's experience. If that's your intent, then that is toxic. Your comments can be construed as that latter being your intent as its in response to what you see as an unfair mori. You also kinda confirm it in your replies being very defensive and aggressive.
Looping and juking is just gameplay so I have no idea what you intend on bringing them up as I never mentioned them. It feels like you are fishing for elements in the game that may annoy me in an effort to win what you perceive as an argument. When all I did was point out that if you are drastically switching up your game play in response to moris with bullying being the intent perhaps you should take the game less seriously.
It doesn't bother me when I get mori'd or key escapes, or juked or looped for that matter, that's the game. If it pisses you off so much why do you play?
As for the rest it is just rambling, I made my point twice now and you have confirmed it beautifully with your responses. I stand by my first assessment, grow up.

I meant "extreme proximity" - something like 2-5 meters. it would be difficult to loop a killer ๐ฆ๐น๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ญ๐บ close to the hook - thus it would not be an issue
Yeah maybe but the proximity would have to be really small. Then it may defeat the purpose as the killer could still camp just not 'facecamp' as it were. I see where you are coming from though.
-
The problem with solutions like this is people keep their chases and loops near the hook in order to exploit the benefit. So the onus is on the killer to always hook away from any strong structure or simply ignore any nearby survivors and play sub optimally.
It was before my time but I believe punishments due to hook proximity have been tried and the end result was the same. Its exploited in the other direction for the benefit of survivors.
-
NOED is basically a 'second chance' perk for killers. It can be quickly countered but has the potential to be impactful if survivors didn't cleanse bones or end up in an egc hook trade scenario.
I use it from time to time but given how often I don't get to the end game usually there is at least one gen left at the 3k it doesn't come into play that often and I feel there are better things to take.
There is nothing 'toxic' about it, but it can rob someone of an expected escape which leads to post game upset. So you can see where the bad reaction to it comes from.

Lmao did I bully you? When I see someone bring a Mori, I expect it to be the worst, as anyone who's been playing long enough should. I'm done with getting Moried at the begining of every match. I'm not going to just lie there and accept it. You're so entitled it's disgusting. And you don't know me so you have no ground to judge my maturity. YOU clearly can't handle competitive games if you get upset about someone outplaying you and denying you your Mori. Maybe make it worth my time and get an epic cosmetic so it'll at least look cool.
When I say bully, I mean I'll purposefully god loop them, I'll be extra and make sure I stun them with a pallet, I'll make it so hard to get me because if I'm getting Moried, might as well get a ton of bloodpoints before I go. So get out of here with that bs cause you clearly are the immature one here mate.
No I don't need to be bullied by you to point out your bad behaviour here. In fact I'm largely immune to it because its a game and I don't take it very seriously. But what I do see a lot of is very childish responses to something a trivial as a MORi. I'm judging your level of maturity by your poor reaction to a mori, moreso now by the rather abusive and aggressive response to my point.
You admit with very narrow description, specifically 'bullying', going out of your way to play in a manner you perceive as impactful and negative as possible for someone else purely because they brought an item allowed by the game. You do this with the intent of 'bullying' them.
Can't you see how this is a very childish mindset, your stated goal is to bully someone because you get upset about mori's. If they upset you so much maybe you should look at how seriously you take the game.
If your intent is to try your best to escape the killer because they have a mori, then great give it your all, but that's not how you put it. You can't get upset when someone calls you out for promoting a toxic attitude, its the first line of your original post.
-
@BabyDweetMain said:
So when I see that a killer brings a Mori, I always bully them due to how many times I used to be insta Moried at the begining of the game. But...I've found that if a killer has a cool cosmetic, I don't mind being moried... Like especially if the cosmetic is new, I'd actually love to see it in a Mori. For example. I had two games. Both killers were Oni. Both brought a Mori. One had default skin, one had the Minotaur skin. I was mad that I got Moried with the default skin and literally crawled to make it so a barrel was blocking the whole Mori. But with the Minotaur one, I love the skin so much that I intentionally went down in a dead zone so I could also clearly see the Mori. It was sick and I didn't even mind it. I left that round thinking of how cool that skin is and how nice it looked in the Mori.
Is that wrong of me?
So someone brings a mori and you want to engage in a toxic manner, but its ok if they have a cosmetic because you like them. This has got to be one of the silliest posts I've ever read. You shouldn't mind being mori'd regardless and if you do, you are probably not mature enough to play competitive games. Grow up.
-
Hag is countered by common sense and caution. That's all it is.
-
Sorry OP but this little "experiment" of yours proves absolutely nothing. In the realm of meta analysis that would tell you if an outcome was more expected or not your whole experiment would amount to one data point. Without any adequate control to base your findings around.
Your experience would be conjecture applicable to yourself alone. For example. When I first started I leveled LF first to unlock BBQ and chilli. Leveling him to 50 in roughly 2 weeks given how much I play and I went to purple ranks in that time. So therefore going from 20 to level 6 in two weeks of play means what, over powered, under powered, fair play, scummy play? It is completely subjective.
I did a lot poorer with hillbilly as I find his mechanic clunky, so by that analysis hillbilly is weaker than pre-change LF. Completely subjective.
You want to track win/loss ratio across all your killers for a period of several months tracking opponent rank, score, escapes, kills, time of day, survivor items and perks, and any other relevant factors that may influence outcome and you will get some insight into how well you preform with each killer. For experimental balance you would need to run the same perks and no addons for each killer making the only real variance their differing powers. It would be more robust if all survivors ran the same perks but that is out of your control.
Again this would only give you your performance with each killer. If we combined a set of data from a large base of players with the same controls we could then pick patterns and look at trends which might identify predictable outcomes based on killers and then we could say this may be overpowered. I'm sure Behaviour already collect this win/loss data, they are running the servers.
I'm a scientist, I do this ######### for a living on massive data sets across many months, it pisses me off no end when people confuse opinion for data.
-
I like em both but I seem to get crazy frame drop on lerys lately. Every game is really stutters on that map.
-
The "small pp" title is just a phrase used by sore losers and bad winners to compensate for an opponent bringing strong combinations of perks.
Its very use as an insult says more about the user than the target.
-
Sigh the whole guessing game argument comes from people who don't understand that every aspect of this game is guessing. Its just that there is a typical playstyle that is easier to predict and the go to counter is to loop for most killers.
Well spirit is harder to predict and the go to loop isn't as effective. But rather than try something else and switching up gameplay people just scream nerf because apparently its no fun to be unable to play the game in the exact same way every game against every killer.
People have suggested plenty of counters to spirit just read through the posts all have a chance of success, why don't you try switching up your gameplay when facing her, get more unpredictable in your movements and enjoy the more high stakes game against her.
Spirit is not overpowered its just people are too lazy to switch up how they play. You got good at looping killers, good for you, now get better at avoiding the spirit by not camping pallets or relying on the one rock or fence to buy you 30 secs of chase.
I've run the spirit for 2 gens on more than one occasion and I'm a potato, if I can do it so can you.

This argument bugs me because saying "it's all guesses" implies it's literally random, there's no strategy to it. But humans aren't random events like coin flips and dice rolls, you can both make educated guesses about what people will do based on their behavior to date and psychological intuition and you can entice opponents into behaving in a particular way by conditioning them to react one way in a prior encounter or two and doing something else the next. Bluffing and making psychological reads on opponents is a skill, if anything it's probably an even more interesting dynamic under the hood than simply reacting to a visual attack cue that you can dodge.
This is exactly the point I try and make time and again on these forums. Even mind gaming at its best involves an educated guess. One could say the slinger faking the aim to bait out a bad juke is his most basic mindgame.
The killers with the most intuitive depth are the ones folks often scream nerf for. Spirit is a great example. A lot of the information you would base your educated guess on is removed creating the highest stakes mindgame there is. I can't just choose which direction to run around this loop based on killer facing I have to predict where she might be based on my previous interactions with her. There is little randomness in this and those who think there is don't really understand true randomness.

Alright sure you can technically stealth do write movement to evade slinger. Stealth is not the most interactive gameplay to do. Weird movement is pure luck sure it kinda throws off the slingers aim but a good one will shoot you regardless.
You say that running the same tiles in the same manner gets stale hut for some reason people kept coming back and I still come back and enjoy looping killers on the tiles we have.
We definitely need more to add variety but i like it alot of the playerbase does as well.
No I mean running the same tiles in the same manner can't be the silver bullet. There is an optimal way to run them and mindgaming and killer powers will shut this down, some better than others.
To cry no counter play because the optimal loop isn't the be all end end all of success is the silver bullet fallacy.
Why did they remove infinite loops, because they truely had no counter play. You could run around and around the same thing and never be hit. It was a genuine silver bullet and removed for the sake of interactive game play, as in to avoid the game becoming dull.
There are still powerful loops and if you get to them you can run the slinger like any other killer, but you'll have to be stealthy or janky to get there.

It takes deathslinger like 5-10 frames to aim and like another 5-10 frames for the spear to travel. That's like 1/4-1/3 of a second to react. Around 100 ping that's about 1/10 second of delay from latency leaving you around 200 miliseconds to react. Consider average human reaction time about 250 miliseconds with extremely fast times being closer 200 miliseconds, it is mathmatically impossible to avoid a deathslinger spear. The only thing you can do is try to break line of sight at all times, but that is practically impossible. It's pretty much the definition of no counterplay.
Bad deathslingers are what make people think he has counterplay because the deathslinger misses their shot when the survivor jukes but it's literally just guessing, there is no cooldown or slowdown to faking shooting so you just have to guess when he'll shoot and even then a good enough aim can hit anyways. Your brain isn't a supercomputer that can analyze the situation and guess when a skilled deathslinger is going to fake or shoot with relatively high accuracy.
And even in the event you do manage to play in some way that prevents him from shooting you, it's either doing 1 of 2 things. 1) just endlessly blocking line of sight on 1 object and eating m1 hits (not effective) or 2) Throwing pallets extremely early so the deathslinger has no chance to use his power as anti looping (boring for both players)
No counterplay in this case does not mean unbeatable, a team doing their gens fast enough and using strategy 2 can easily beat a deathslinger, but it's not about win or lose. It's about how fun it is to play against him, and simple fact of the matter is that it isn't fun.
You are trying to avoid the shot before its fired not as its fired. Yes quick scoping is the most effective way to play the slinger, hence why janky movement is key in avoiding it, if you're close enough that janky movement loses you effective distance then I don't need to shoot at you when a lunge will do.

UB/DS does have counter play though. It's ironic you present a valid point about how "no counterplay" is treated then kinda of just go off and say something has no counterplay.
Slugging early can help beat this combo. You force them to use Unbreakable early. Alternatively if you get the chance to eat DS at 4 or 5 gens I take it because now I don't have to slug that person anymore. In fact if I catch them again I can camp/tunnel and not worry about it.
That's what you have to do. Make them burn their perks early. I rarely see a survivor escape a game if they DS the killer super early like that.
Exactly the counter-play to DS/UB is to try and draw it out early. This combo is most powerful in the endgame when it can carry you out the gate. Slug early and draw it out, grab an obsession to eat that DS at 5 gens still up. Then remember who used it.
It funny that people tout DS as an anti tunnel perk but one of the best counter plays to it is to quickly down the survivor again and draw it out early.

Hmm dont you find it odd hes been out for months and nobody has found clear counterplay to him?
This is called the silver bullet fallacy.
The idea that a particular tactic will ultimately be the magical counter to a problem.
You can jank, early pallet drop, play around LOS blockers, stealth out all these things will aid you in avoiding a rifle shot/hit. All are counterplay in some way to every killer. Traditional looping isn't as effective so you mix up your play-style. Not every killer is gong to be hard countered by running tiles in the same manner. That would be truly stale for game play.

In a game that actively revolves around chases and killer/player interaction, saying that the counterplay to spirit is avoiding the killer entirely is admitting that the way it is designed isn't suitable for the purpose devs made the game for. Same for deathslinger: janky movements are not outplaying, they revolve on the same rng based luck that you have when spirit ######### up her phase and doesn't find you. It's not about who's the best mind gamer between the killer and survivor, it's about how often the killer ######### up.
But interaction between killer and survivor is only one aspect and playing stealthy against killers that have good chase shutdown potential is one type of counter play.
Just as janky movement to draw out misses is counter play against any killer. How is it not? Why are you choosing to move erratically... to draw out misses more likely to succeed at range against a shooting/hatchet killer. Oh the slinger had good aim predicted my movements and still hit me I guess there is no counter play. Its completely ridiculous.
Janking a miss from a slinger is no different to faking a window vault for a missed hit and extended chase. If the killer predicts you are going to fake it and holds off that attack then you get hit shortly after.
Most mindgames are about who out guesses who, there is always a luck element to it. You can completely jank and out mind game spirit. The play just isn't as predictable as the typical when to moonwalk 101 textbook.
Every single one of these interactions involved prediction and guesswork, the basis of success and failure in this game.

For whatever reason, people I'm getting matched with in purple ranks just won't touch gens until corrupt intervention is gone. I've even found people hiding near my corrupt gens which is hilarious to me. I just walk around setting up traps inside the grass at loops for the first couple minutes of the game and they barely touch gens, it's great.
This happens to me a lot too, I often find I take up a whole perk slot for maybe two hooks as survivors just stealth out till corrupt is gone. Its why I stopped using it I find I get better use out of pop.

less obvious traps are key, trap the far side of the loop not the pallet side. A grassy patch in a common throughfare that survivors will use when not in chase. Trap near a hook then hang a survivor there not the other way around.
Don't set to many at the start. I used to lose a lot of time trying to lay out a web of traps kinda like hag. But now I put probably two at most in spots I typically have success with and then start hunting. Try and keep a trap handy for chases, just faking a placement is often enough for a survivor to abandon a strong loop and get you a hit.
If you get a basement in the shack don't break the god pallet straight away, that sucker will let you lock the basement down in a way that totally bones any rescuers. You'll get a lot of salt but basement trapper is a beast once that pallet goes down and you trap the vault.
I used to run corruption but I don't much anymore (not to say its bad). These days I run thana, sloppy, bbq and pop.
That way even if you drop a random trap on the other side of the map and can't get back to it in time you get thana value out of wounding someone with it.
I usually smack a survivor to apply sloppy rather than pick them up from a trap.
Common mistakes I used to make was trapping to close to windows so that the vault animation cleared the trap. Trapping the middle of pallets, you want to trap just near the edge of it if possible.
You'd be surprised how many survivors step in the same trap over and over again. Typically its better to just reset a trap or move it slightly than pick up and try a new area. Also you can't step in your own traps till you walk off them so reset the trap before picking up that survivor you'll be fine and waste less time. Works great when folks run up behind for the flashlight save and get trapped :)

ugh it happens, either by bad play or bad luck just take the loss like an adult and move on. Its a game.

posts like this help nobody, stop with the console vs pc crap. We don't need to make another partisan group of whiny babies who are at each others throats. There are good and crap players on both platforms just deal with it and stop trying to make it something its not.
If you feel that strongly about it then turn off crossplay problem solved. Stop wasting everyone's time trying to create a new argument among the community.
Just play the game.
