Myers is the main reason I play this game.
He’s not weak but it can be harder against a coordinated team. But that’s true for every killer.

If you peel off from the loop correctly, he can’t hit you. It’s a mindgame. Whoever makes the right read wins that attempt. If you think he’ll go for bump logic, position yourself to make it difficult for where you think he’ll come from. If you think he’s going for a slide, peel away from the loop at correct place/angle to prevent him from being in range with a swing. Also recognizing what’s able to be slid on and what isn’t, and positioning yourself in locations where sliding wouldn’t reach you. There’s lots of videos online you can look up to see how good players play against Blight and mindgame him back successfully.
That requires focus, practice and decision making all the things we are trying to avoid here. What we want is the same looping to work against everything all the time. When anything might change that it needs to be nerfed so we don’t have to think, plan or change it up.

yep.
my view on it is "it's not camping if the whole swf is running straight at the hook".
I also think facecamping is morally ok for a couple of seconds to secure a second hook state if the team leaves someone until the last second before hitting stage 2.
It’s also just as legit to stand there and stare at someone for five gens though. It’s not particularly interactive or interesting but it’s not the great moral dilemma people make it out to be.
It’s not the end of the world, the problem isn’t camping it’s all the butt hurt take this ######### to seriously bad gamers who tantrum about it that are the problem.
When I get face camped at first hook I just switch off for a bit it’s no big deal. I say first hook and not 5 gens because if you aren’t popping 2-3 gens in the first chase then your team is already dropping the ball.

No. Don't do this. Continue to crowd the hook and continue unhooking in my face. I love nothing more as a Killer than not having to go look for survivors, since they literally follow me carrying the downed survivor. I love it. Please don't stop.
You know what I agree. I’m tired of chasing survivors I’d rather they just come to me. If I’m going to get called camper and tunneler after every game no matter what I do I might as well legitimise those accusations.
Its like the grumpy lady down the street who yells at me about picking up my dogs poop. I always clean up after my dog but she yells at me anyway. So now if the dog poops on her lawn I leave it so her efforts aren’t wasted and her complaint legitimate. Everybody wins.
I hate to see wasted effort.

What’s do you even mean by bias toward these perks.
You are railing at the idea that they rework a perk that involves direct interaction with each killer and their power and somehow doing this properly is a form of perk “bias” to the detriment of the game?
If you don’t like DH/NOED, just say I don’t like DH/NOED… here’s why.
That’s far more constructive than framing it in some convoluted nonsense.
-
you get back filled into higher ranked match ups to cut down the survivor queue times, Try skipping the first couple of lobbies you might dodge those bad match ups.

The problem is the fact they are literally on safe spot killers can't do anything at.
yeah but that's the problematic part the pants filling is secondary.
They have removed a lot of infinites so its moving in the right direction.

It seems lately that when people don't like certain things they come to the forums and say that it's "boring". I have to guess that they think if the devs read that something is boring they are more likely to change it.
"...you never feel safe"
As a survivor you aren't supposed to feel safe. Every killer should make you feel unsafe. The game is flawed if you feel safe around any killer. I would say feeling safe playing against a supposedly terrifying serial killer would be "boring".
This is my favourite line too, you never feel safe.
I hate it when I get brutally chased and murdered by a mask wearing knife wielding maniac in an unsafe manner.
I want to feel safe as survivor oh my god, my favourite horror movies are also the ones where nothing scary happens and no one gets killed.
Pleasant dreams on elm street
Halloween… candy
Texas chainsaw tuning, maintenance and sales
Laugh (which I thought was way better than scream)
Laugh 2

oh man you’re the guy in the store yelling at staff that you’ll take your business elsewhere aren’t you?
We’ll start a Kickstarter so you can get your own personal server in your living room.

Look infinites and really safe pallets are problematic but not because of "tea bagging"
Lets call it what it really is button mashing, someone mashes buttons on their gear and I'm meant to feel bad... good luck with that.
Tea bagging can't hurt you unless you let it, just look at it this way the other player isn't taunting you, they are pooping themselves in fear and can't run just yet.
In fact maybe tea bagging should be called pants filling.
I had a bunch of survivors pants filling themselves at the exit gates someone get them a diaper.
If you are easily offended you are easily manipulated don't let the pants filler goad you into chasing them, find their weak buddy instead and tunnel him into oblivion once its 3 v 1 the genuine pants filling can begin.
Its not personal just business is my moto.

Problem identified "I hate NOED and can't deal emotionally with losing to it making me call for unnecessary nerfs"
Simple solutions...
Run anti-totem perks,
Bring a map,
Don't cleanse all totems you see but rather exercise memory and if confronted by NOED return to those totems to see if lit and then cleanse.
Play less bold and more cautious when it procs
If NOED is up and you have no idea where to cleanse it, understand that its a strong perk and will make endgame hook saves much harder to get.
So weigh the hard choice of leaving someone and escaping against going for a risky save. Realise other people will likely be weighing this choice when you are on the hook during NOED so you may not get saved if they don't want to risk it... and that's fine.
Realise that 5 gens complete and 0 killer hooks does not mean you have won, it just means you have done really well avoiding hooks while repairing gens, there are many factors that may casue this don't let your ego make you think its your uber skills alone or an undeserving killer player.
Additionally a killer with 0 hooks isn't doing well and you have more than enough hook struggle time for people to stealth around the map and find NOED and cleanse it.
If the killer hooked right next to NOED and can camp both the hook and NOED at the same time you either need a really great coordinated play or accept you have lost that person and leave accordingly rather than feed 4 kills to the killer.
Learn to enjoy the high risk tension a perk like NOED brings to the game especially as high stakes finale, after all why are you fleeing from the big scary killer if there is no threat of death?
Lastly and I can't stress this enough don't be a sore loser, because being angry about NOED and lashing out at someone for playing it is nothing more than sore loserism, nobody likes sore loser guy so don't be him.
-
No its not really...
But the internet is an easily lead and fickle beast, and once it starts circulating that it might be dead or dying, and that grows and gets echoed, then folks start to believe it and it grows more and becomes its own self-fulfilling prophecy.
Its a downward spiral that all online games try to avoid and one that DBD is potentially flirting with, if not on the precipice of, if they aren't careful.
Contrary to the doomsayers, we are probably a long way off from the apocalypse though.

It says, and I quote, "From the original story". People took that to mean the books when it meaning "not the American one" is also just as valid.
I'd say this is a more likely explanation.
"Original story" as to mean the original Japanese interpretation rather than the American remake.
The number of people who enjoy the films without even knowing it was a book to begin with probably outnumber the fans of the book. So it makes sense to lean heavily in that direction, you also have a visual to build the model off of as part of the license.
Its true of so many films based on books.
(not that there is anything wrong with this, nothing worse than the "well I've read the book" elitist douche conversation). I've never read the Ring novels but I enjoyed the films.

Also something about being big baddy but mocked and powerless at times. Like you are an abomination that "normal" people gang up on. Etc.
It is individual ofc. People can attack me for being soft idc. I am just being honest like always.
I feel more comfortable playing survivor because frustration is better than frustration+anxiety. It is not always like that but it happens. And I don't torture myself like others, I switch roles. Or game.
Its not soft at all though because it gets tiresome gaming with really obnoxious people who like to drive home the point that they are better than you at a game.
Sure its a game it doesn't really matter but at the same time you are forced to play with these people you wouldn't want to play with under any other circumstances.
We all know that person we don't want at boardgame night because playing with them is just a terrible experience win or lose. Well you roll the dice of being paired up with that person, or a group of them, every time you queue solo for DBD and killer is the solo role so you get it far more often as killer.
It doesn't make killer worse than survivor, but it can be the more tiresome role when this typically negative social element is a very common part of PUG gaming.

Exactly this.
Unpredictable, scary killers make the game interesting.
Every killer being countered by just running around the same rock or holding W and running in a straight line is the most lazy, brain dead, idiotic design one could want for the game.
But post after post there is an "I can't play against this using the same stuff I use for every other killer, nerf it waah, no counter play, its boring."
"No counter play" has become a euphemistic rallying cry for the sore losers to lazy to mix it up one in a while.
EDIT the word dumb to lazy its less confrontational.

Removing the cheating that was stretch res will increase kill rates... I love it.
These poor cheaters will have to learn how to play and the game will slide into a killer biased apocalypse. 💥
They came to this game just like the rest of us, with a dream of abusing the system to guarantee wins and who could blame them?! Persecuted by loss after loss the way they were... it breaks my heart. 💔

I play killer sometimes I just enjoy survivor gameplay more. All I want is a balanced game and we're allowed to have discussions about the balance.
Yeah but you can count the number of constructive discussions on one hand, most times its just sore losers ranting and accusing each other of bias, toxicity, entitlement etc etc. Heck its an online forum let the masses loose, it just always amuses me when people publicly display their ignorance or stupidity and then get all uppity when someone says hey that's kinda stupid. But that's the vitriolic mix of anonymity and ego that make up the online world. Previously you had to look stupid in public and confrontation was direct but those days are over thanks to online forums.
You are never going to have balance in this set up, what you are going to get is oscillating swings between survivor and killer as perks/mechanics get introduced or changed. If folks are running around saying "killer isn't fun" then play some survivor and vice versa.
I play way more killer than survivor, very few games let you be the bad guy so its fun to play antagonist. I'm not a fan a number of new changes and mechanics but I'll give my feedback, attenuate my expectations and finally realize its only a game and in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter.
Thicc I dig, I've usually only got a few survivor games in me before I get bored of it and go back to killer too. I've definitely sunk less cost into survivor. Kudos getting the game for free but time investment is another sunk cost might as well play both sides if you are gonna sink the time. Switching it up can keep the game fresh especially when you start having that, "man it sucks to play X" feeling.

And that's still a change in the meta if it changes the way people play.
Good point.
Was it a good change though or a substantial mix up? not really.
Healthy changes should broaden the available play styles not narrow them, that's what makes stale meta a narrow selection of viable play options.
-
There is a really simple solution to this complaint... play killer!
If you feel killers are over buffed and its no fun/boring to play survivor then... play killer.
I don't get why people don't play both sides, you paid for the game why commit to only 50% of it?
Look at all the its killer sided/ its survivor sided, tit-for-tat bias posts in just this thread alone, let alone the forums as a whole.
My advice is play both sides you dumbasses.

@burt0r said:
It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with perks and stuff in the first place.
The basic principle of this game with its asymmetrical nature in itself is build for a more demanding/stressful time for killers.
The killer is in action 100% of the time and has to keep the state of 7 gens, 4 survivor with their 16 perks, 5 totems (in case of hexes or boons) and (in late game) 2 gates in mind.
Ok the other hand only one survivor can be in chase at once. So given a averaged action (chase) time of 25%, interrupting streaks of boredom holding M1 on gens and maybe rescuing others from hooks.
Also the pace of the game is initially set by the survivors. Given no interference, survivor can end a trial in less 4 minutes. The killer is only trying to prolong that into infinity (aka 4k).
But that itself is a result of the age of this game and it's changes over the years itself.
In the beginning survivor had more broken tools but killer had a way higher lethality with old Mori's for example. Getting caught by the killer could mean an immediate death sentence. Therefore immersed playstyles without getting caught by the killer were more popular.
But over the years it becamd more and more standard for survivor to be hooked for all 3 hookstates and without camping they had to be chased again and again for each.
Combined with the improved efficiency in playstyles that develops in any game over time playing killer became more and more stressful despite survivor losing most of their broken tools while killer also became less lethal.
I think you hit the nail on the head with this.
Killers were definitely more lethal and gameplay more immersive, but this has given way to an era of super bold survivor play and a state of constant chase.
1-2 chases as survivor is fun, but 8-12 chases as killer kinda gets exhausting after a bit, the level of invested effort is in no way equivalent.
People want 50/50 chance of escape gameplay but the effort to get that is actually 25/100 from a survivor/killer effort ratio.
It can make killer games feel more like a chore than a fun game sometimes and I can see why people are always saying they find killer less fun to play. Its not really harder it just requires a ######### tonne more invested effort to get something out of it.
I'd much rather play immersive against a really lethal killer than bold against a mediocre killer. The latter however seems to be the game's direction, which is a shame.
-
He can still wreck face at high MMR he just needs a slight power tweak so that it doesn't max out.
Survivors should slowly regain stalk after hitting max, nothing worse than stalking someone dry then getting the down on someone else who's fresh only to have them die on first hook and be denied a great deal of your power. Its clunky and the main thing that needs a change.
Otherwise he should stay as he is, his power is unique, fits his character well, and has addons that change up how he works entirely so any game with him or against him can be fresh. Its a good design overall.
He also has a lot of threat potential with some really good iri addons that make him very threatening as iri addons should.
-
maybe its just too hard to fix the older killers at this point so they don't bother.
Its disheartening to see comments like "just aim for four BBQ stacks, that's how I have fun".
Its like they want it to be some kind of everyone gets a trophy day set up, the killer gets 4xBBQ stacks and all the survivors escape and everyone gets that little ribbon that says participant award so noone feels left out.

I do think the devs realise that it's strong and needs to be nerfed, but also don't want to completely gut the perk as it's a fresh change to the meta, so from seeing it get nerfed a tad bit recently, if I had to take a guess it'll receive further changes soon. They're just taking it in small steps.
It didn't really change the meta though. Everyone still runs the same 1v1 chase perks and one just subs in a COH for uber team healing.
All it did was invalidate hit and run playstyle thus upping the value of tunneling and camping further, two strats that people bemoan constantly.

The comparison was made because of the outcry comp players are throwing over it being removed those same people will throw a fit once the comp strat is dead no it's not a bad comparison it just involves people understanding the context and not reaching but as per usual people have to make something outta nothing and try to derail a post. That's a big issue on this forum ngl people jump ship without understanding the full story and start trying to make claims that aren't valid. If I was gonna discuss cheating I'd be discussing why Behavior needs to drop EAC as fast as possible and seek a better anti cheat.
I think you missed the point. Even with he context you propose the premise is flawed.
You are decrying people for complaining about stretch res removal then saying there will be a similar outcry over camping next, but one thing really has nothing to do with the other. Why didn't you pick dead hard, boons or any other of the bajillion things people cry about on this forum.
Is it because you don't like camping and want to complain about people who camp in a passive aggressive swipe about how they'll cry when camping gets removed, as if its somehow equivalent to the removal of strecth res? Because that's kinda how it sounds, which is kinda more you just indirectly whining about camping.
I get what you were trying to do, you just didn't do it very well.
If you want to go for a snide swipe knock yourself out, but you can't get pissy if someone points out it wasn't a very good one.
-
I think they are both kinda meh ideas.
Scourge hooks are kinda underwhelming and heavily RNG dependent they have their uses but its not meta changing.
Boons are just survivor undying with up to 4x the effect rolled into it which is a stupid design. Also its not really meta changing because everyone just runs the same 1v1 perks still and then adds in COH.
-
Its a bad comparison though.
Stretch res was basically cheating as it invalidated mindgames at structures.
facecamping is just game play doesn't matter how many gens are up.
Its not the most interactive gameplay but it is gameplay none the less, sometimes its the best thing you can do at the time game wise.
Complaining about strecth res was legit, complaining about camping is just whiny BS.
Go for a hook save and get some exchanges happening, get in the killers face, mix it up, some of the best games I've had as survivor and killer have been played around the basement. Usually against a bubba its thrilling.
-
One thing I often find when you have matching duos is its likely someone trying to protect their less exp buddy.
I mean one jake loops like a king and the other runs headlong into walls. You often always find them together and one really tries to grab the aggro from the other during chase.
Can't say I dodge much based matched sets but sometimes. 4x clones with tool boxes and near matching names, I'll pass on that ######### storm thanks. Often its a really obnoxious game and I prefer an immersive one over an obnoxious one.

So should behavior make noed be a reward like devour hope is.
If the killer had no hooks at gates powered then you as a team had plenty of time to do bones throughout.
This one is on you for not avoiding an insta down.
Until you walk out the door escape is not guarenteed, no matter what happened during the game.
Nerfing NOED simply so people can guarentee escapes is a bad design choice that caters to the sore losers of the world.
NOED is one of the few perks that make the endgame exciting. Lets keep it that way.
-
Funny I've had a trollish vengence evening myself.
No addons myers don't pop out of tier 1 till about half way through the game. Whiff some hits, kick a lot of gens and generally play like a new player.
Survors who continue to play it out get the escape
Survivors who stop playing at one gen and try to farm me for points or get in my face go on the hook, really obnoxious survivors get the tier 3 all down bleed out.
Dropped into 8 games
3 x fun crew, good end chases GG's all round and one bill who sacc'ed himself in endgame for a pity kill, what a sweetheart 😘
1x early DC, started a lil body block and hook sabo but nothing malicious just good gaming, let everyone go once on death hook because they earned it with some great play even with a first hook DC at game start, stealth grabbed him off a gen and boom he was gone.
4 x Obnoxious flashlight clickers and noise spammers. Now nothing wrong with this but when players stop at one gen to try and harass what they perceive less skilled player it kinda irks me.
First was obnoxious from the start I played normally and got a 3k. Again its not toxic but just really cocky in your face survivors it was a close really sweaty game but they set the sweaty tone from game start, I wanted it so brought it from the get go.
Three were survivors getting cockier as the game progressed lots of BM, clicky, noise spam and 2x stopped at 1 gen to really get in my face.
One was 1k, what can I say I screwed up, lots of endgame abuse about how trash I was, bummed me out a bit I didn't get them but its only a game, shame that there are people with such a trash attitude playing though.
Other two was the same thing but got em all, 4k on hook next was 1 sacc 3x bleed out for the other they were really abusive.
So 3x good games, 1x ok game, 4x ######### games with crap people. Yes a 4k can be a ######### game if you are stuck playing with crap people.
-
You haven't played when its turned off and every second game is a DC on first down, first hook, first chase, mori, grab, killer they don't like, I heard the killer terror radius first DC, or the my totem destroyed at game start DC, pallet stunned and blinded once DC etc etc?
The penalty exists because the community can't be trusted to act like adults and just play the game they signed up for.
Yes there will be ######### games that aren't fun, which you just have to wade through, yes you will get penalized for a legit disconnect due to loss of internet etc, but that's the cost of playing amongst cry babies and the punitive measures designed to dissuade them.

Then here is another suggestion as for the hook issue:
Traps within 8 meters of a hooked survivor do not cause the camera to swing.
Learning to play around stuff is always the go to, but some things are more on the side of there's nothing that can be done.
There were 2 gens left, two hooked people in second stage and another 2 hooks guy that was injured. A save was necessary, but straight up impossible. With 5 traps on both survivors, getting close was just impossible.
I agree that Hag's camera swing is useful when used in loops, but in the case of hook trap spamming it is just a Bubba 2.0.
Potentially but you then hit the problem of multi level maps with hooks above and below affect traps due to distance. Loops and vaults near hooks that become unviable trap locations, its not a bad suggestion but probably impractical to implement.
That scenario is a problematic one for the survivors, that's a losing scenario already and it takes some serious game to turn that around.
I'd have prioritized healing and the last two gens even if it cost one of those hooked team mates. Your either going to have to heal and then draw her away and other player gets a cautious crouch save while the hag is in chase. Or you smash out the last two gens and flee. If that hag is running back and forth checking hooks as they should at that point then you want to crouch your way in from a blind angle if available. (EDIT Armchair general here I wasn't there but from what you describe the options are limited, but that scenario isn't the fault of hags traps).
That was already a losing scenario before we consider hag's trap set up and then its an example of hags traps doing that they should keeping the pressure on the survivors and forcing a tough choice to save or escape, you can't always have both.

Make Monstrous Shrine a scourge hook that rewards leaving the hook. Maybe it could accelerate the sacrifice timer by 25% as long as you remain 32 meters or further away?
I actually think Territorial Imperative is neat as a niche perk, I would probably just remove the distance requirement and cool down.
I had this exact same thought reading the title.
Basement scourge hook with reduced timer if you are a distance from the basement. Defending a basement hook is very advantageous but there is an incentive to leave if running monstrous. Is it enough to make people use it though, that's the question.

I like when people don't even read the post then comment.
Did I complain about looping Hag? No, I complained that, while in a chase the camera swing DOES bring a skill based advantage, when it comes to hook camping they are just straight up broken. You cannot do anything for the hooked guy if the hag is near. Your camera will go crazy anyway.
Also, learn to play against it is a bit of a stretch considering it's a hag. I've faced a maximum of 30 in my 5 year "career".
And once more I have to bring up people ignoring your comments then replying with "git gud". I have said I don't know how many times that I DON'T want a nerf, I want a counter buff to make up for the fixing of that ######### mechanic.
Yes there is one specific scenario that is your prime complaint but the camera switch is part of her power, you are asking for its removal
Now (here's the context for you to show you not only did I read you post but I also comprehended its flow on effects) its removal impacts more than just the single scenario you provided. It greatly limits her trap use for curtailing loops and windows, anyone who knows how to play hag knows how to counter fast vaults with a trap redirect.
Also getting caught in what you described that is kinda your fault, because frankly its not that hard to play around.
You do want it nerfed because you want that aspect of her mechanic removed. This has been pointed out before (I know this I read the other posts too).
" I don't ask for NERFS, I ask for removing unfun mechanics and COUNTER BUFF the character so they aren't nerfed". The counter buffs you propose aren't really "counter buffs" One puts limiter on her power the other is the same power as other killers have. So both aren't really good suggestions variation wise and one of them is just a slightly reduced nerf from the proposed removal nerf.
You are asking for a nerf to avoid the scenario you describe when the solution to the scenario you describe is cautious play, good decision making and team work.
A hag with two hooks next to each other is gonna proxy those because its the best move to make in that scenario. You should expect it to have the ######### trapped out of it and play very cautiously.
If you don't see hag often enough to learn how then play Hag for a bit and you'll see how it works.
Lastly this isn't "git gud" its take some time to reflect on your gameplay and maybe try something different in that scenario or create it yourself in a hag game and see where its weak. Improve on your gameplay before trying to break out the nerf bat.
If you wish to interpret this as "git gud" then that's up to you but there is no snide malice in my suggestion in fact its what any good gamer would do if they found a weakness and wanted to get better.
Sadly most of this forum isn't people doing that its just people screaming NERF! That dilutes the horror element of the game.

IDK why this is an issue. Sometimes, you have to be the sacrifice. It sucks, but IDK why it's not satisfying for other people *even if I'm the one to get face camped at 5 gens* to see the killer only get 1k and 4k bp after the game. It's like a giant middle finger. Why do people prefer a potential 4k to that?
Exactly this, its a game where you die sometimes, but somehow dying in this game is the greatest insult to people in the history of gaming.
Some of the best games I've played ended with me on hook or getting mori'd. One of the best was the camera angle for the mori showed only my feet sticking out from behind a barrel on Hawkins while the hag cut me to bits.
You could see blood splatter, the hag arms flailing but only my feet, it was a great thematic scene and the best death yet after a really fun game.
Sigh don't take it personally if you get left on hook. Also realize sometimes its best just to leave. Its a game after all it doesn't matter. If you are gonna die then let it be a glorious death if possible.

1. Not necessary at all. This game isn't horror nor should it try to be anymore.
2. As I suggest, add a small hindred status to a survivor activating it or a small cooldown between each camera swing. It's really an over kill when 5 traps mess up my camera and I can't get the unhook within 2 hits.
The trap is meant to do that its part of her power.
I'm sorry you can't brain dead loop every killer in the exact same way all the time but different killers should have different powers that make you play differently.
Learn to play around it rather than just scream for nerfs.
Yes its a horror game, just sore loserism is killing that aspect off because people won't adjust their play, and so constantly scream for nerfs rather than getting better.

Jokes aside, they were just good and you need to learn how to handle these kind of situations.
Omg they had meta perks? So what? That was your decision to go into the game with meme perks, it does not give you the right to complain about their perks.
Flashlight macro? Oh no, you poor guy, I start to cry immediately...
The match lasted ages? Well it was also because of you probably, you were playing as sweaty as them.
You are correct in that meta perks, flashlights, being better at the game than someone else is not toxic.
When survivors stop doing the last gen to just try and get as many blinds and farm the killer for as many points as possible it can get a little tiresome though.
A post like this is no different to people complaining about camping and tunneling, none of it is toxic but it can be unfun to face it in back to back games.
I usually have 1-2 really obnoxious opponent games in me till I think yeah that’s enough dbd today. Regardless of outcome.
Sometimes winning isn’t enough if its a ######### game experience. I’d rather everyone escape from a fun game than I 4K a ######### game.
My definition of fun is different from some else’s though so it’s just blind luck if you get fun games or not in random pvp.

It’s the weekend there are a lot of kids on.
played two games this weekend. Both Myers.
First game is dead dawg offering and survivors tried the saloon locker tech all game. Fortunately light born. It was a typical body block boil over, flashlight spam affair.
Now none of that is toxic
It does set a rather obnoxious tone to the game though. Fortunately NOED gets me 1 hook and three downs in the endgame. It’s a hook at the very corner of the map near the gate and the three downed all crawl into the corner hoping boil over will save them. Well they bled out because there was nothing else I could do.
The toxic part is the post game abuse where I get called all manner of things for running NOED and bleeding them out. I don’t bother engaging because it’s not worth it. I say gg rate the game 1 star and move on.
Second game is a repeat of the first but on auto haven.
Again outside of the endgame abuse none of this is toxic. It isn’t the most fun to play against though and after two games of it, well that’s me done today.
I would have played more if there were custom mode bots instead of just pvp.
Replaying Tyranny with a scarlet chorus run through instead, haven’t done that before.

Server lag used to be rather killer sided. So it’s just the corrective swing of validation back to survivor.
I just wish it didn’t keep giving false hits where you get the blood, the scream, the cool-down, the stun and no loss of health state.
I get that it is validation working as intended but it still doesn’t really work. It just shifted the ugh 😩 from one side to the other.
Personally I’m of the school that anything that makes survivor less scary to play isn’t a great change. It’s too easy to avoid hits at pallets these days.
-
It just feels less consistent. I mean under the old system there was plenty of problems but I managed to sit at a rank that was comfortable and generally fun for me.
Games could still swing wildly and you’d get poorly matched but it felt more consistent than the new mmr. The new mmr seems to swing wildly between stupidly easy and impossibly hard. Makes the game less fun overall.

Firstly there isn’t any real “debate” here it’s mostly people throwing in their opinions without reading any other posts. Online forums are basically echo chambers rather than forums and that’s why most people are here.
The online nature also means half the participants are either too young, too stupid, or too incapable of coherent communication to understand what they themselves are saying before they even try and understand what someone else is saying.
Lastly the goal of debate is not to convince your opponent but rather the wider audience that your point is correct or more valid. Your opponent’s opinion at the end of a debate is irrelevant because what they think is not your goal. The people who don’t realise this get caught up in personal argument instead of debate.
“I’m not here to convince you the opponent, I’m here to convince them the audience” is the winning debate mindset.
There is no real debate on this forum it’s largely venting and arguing which is why you see the same topics circling around and everyone just sledging each other. Pointless really. It’s just another form of train wreck entertainment. It’s painful to see yet you can’t look away.
There is enough of a cool-down between shocks to time an unhook.

why bother even running from the killer then?
Ask yourself when is DBD actually thrilling to play? Its the times when you have to escape. the chase where you are on death hook sort of thing, under threat of mori, insta down. Scary killers make for great games.
The most exciting chase you'll have is the one where you life is on the line. How many times do you actually get that in a game I'd say 1 in 10.
Most games of DBD go like regular clock work, split up on gens, if not found first then sit on gens, if found first have chase and either get camped to death or get unhooked and go back to sitting on gens. Walk out exit once gens are done, queue again and hope for better game.
The only real excitment is death hook, insta down power, mori or NOED.
People who complain about NOED are the don't want an exciting game crowd they just want to escape and they BOO HOO when they don't. Get killed once in a while its half the fun.
Scary killers make the game good, they make the game exciting the rest is just ego idiocy of people who want to feel more powerful than the killer and always escape and that's a yawn fest.
If they ever nerf NOED all that will happen is this game will get more boring than it currently is. Its almost survive by daylight at this point.
Why not just give the killer a wiffle bat so everyone can always live all the time and then they all get cupcakes at the end and no one ever dies... will you be happy then?
I stand by my sore loser assesment of NOED complainers.
-
Also MMR will throw you under the bus if experienced survivors with 100's+ of hours have been waiting in queue too long.
It only further lessens the game experience of new players.
When you add grind, paywalls, poor mmr, and social pressure to be as toxic as possible with no option to opt out of these things given its PVP only, then its a recipe for a really bad new player experience.
-
Nothing.
The only thing driving the opinion its unfair is "whaaa I wanted to escape but didn't waahh" sore loserism.
I wish NOED was basekit, the endgame would be terrifying then. Every game would be a desperate fight to get out the door. That would be exciting.
Although un-counterable basekit NOED is probably a lil too over the top, one can dream though one can dream.

I'd significantly rather play MacMillan maps over and over then to ever play an rcpd. I'm not rooting for every map to eventually get taken out but frankly if the map is fun then I dont mind getting it more often I'm gonna get burnt out on the game regardless and frankly I already am and a large part of that is hating like half the map pool.
Sure others might like it and that's fine, I'm not saying that's bad thing but likewise I hate it and if could not get those maps ever again I'd 100% hit that button.
Fair enough.
I still say I'd rather see maps tweaked and reworked than removed.
Think about what it is about Macmillan that makes it more enjoyable and see if you can apply those suggestions to other maps.
I really dislike RPD but its the vault and wall layout that make it bad. There are so many safe vaults that require you to circle around long walls, corridors that line up straight into safe vaults and choke points that can be body blocked by either side so easily.
Its almost like it was a map designed by griefers for griefers. No surprise all the boil over abuse involves RPD and 3 hook offerings its the bad game grief map.
I get they wanted a confined kind of layout but its a bit too confined, compare it to lery's hawkins, midwich, the game, they are indoors and generally more confined but there is still enough space to accommodate chases, alternate pathways (less so on midwich), ok mix of safe and dead zones (less so on the game), RPD just feels like a maze of walls and vaults that get in the way of gameplay rather than benefit it.
Its like the office area on lerys, its confined with some pretty safe pallets and windows, it helps the survivors a lot but if the basement is there good luck getting out with how confined it is so the killer can utilize it too in some set ups. Its only one small piece of that map though, while RPD is just one giant Lery's office without any balanced iterations. Its a bad design.
I don't want to see resident evil content deleted but I'd like to see RPD tweaked.

Base kit Myers can be hard to master.
Its about 99'ing your tier 2 and popping tier 3 at the opportune moment.
The two big fixes I would go for are
- survivors not running out of stalk as you basically lose your power if the game runs long. That said you don't want to be able to just milk one survivor for a tier 3 tombstone so they have to run out but maybe start to slowly accumulate again. Once they hit max red if you stop stalking for a bit they slowly turn white again.
- He's over reliant on mind games to get those hits and they are becoming less and less viable in the current 1v1 meta, he needs maybe more of a speed and lunge boost to be really deadly in tier 3 if not timed perfectly.
I often do the Myers challenge, stay in tier 1 till at least a couple of good jumpscares/grabs or till survivors think you are scratched mirror and start getting cocky then you pop the tier two and get a few standard chases while timing your Tier 3 for a brutal endgame.
If you get even one person down in the endgame you should have enough stalk available on remaining survivors to pop tier 3 for the unhook and get at least 3 in not 4 downs and kills. Its like NOED without the perk slot and often catches people off guard.
He is definitely not as good as some killers and has little mobility so can suffer a lot against a coordinated team, but when played well he's a lot of fun to face and play.
He also has some powerful addons and any tweaking of basekit will probably involve tweaking addons and I'd hate for them to change stuff and ######### him up the way they have some other killers, that would be the last nail in DBD's coffin for me.
I'd say he's the most fun killer because of how much the game can change when facing him, but he is easily countered if you know what you are doing and I reckon that can be fixed by not capping his stalk.

Killers want easy 4ks. Going back to the emblem system will give them the 100 4k streaks they've been addicted to for years. Getting a guaranteed level 20 in every match with the old emblem system guaranteed 1k in the first 30 seconds.
I really think Killers would be happier with 4 AI survivor bots that somewhat played the game than having a challenge. Because lets face it, every argument about the MMR system is that it's "too hard" for killers and that killers should be the "power role". Basically meaning killers should have easy 4ks.
I'm sorry but this is just a poor argument. Players on both sides will call for easy kills and easy escapes, trying to demonize one half of the player base is unhelpful.
I think the key problem with SBMM from the casual perspective is that it does a pretty good job of matching competent survivors together, you watch even some of those great streamers and they are often exploiting the weak survivor to gain a foothold.
That is becoming less of scenario so games eventually get sweatier and sweatier, the viability of chases generally goes down and you get a increase in playstyles that people don't like camping/tunneling/slugging etc because they become more efficient/rewarding than the typical spread damage and hooks playstyle.
There's this real culture in DBD of while its ok for survivor players to split up on gens and smash them out asap for maximum pressure, its not ok for a killer player to remove someone early to gain the same kind of pressure. Yet that's exactly what you should be focusing on if you want to secure a 4k.
Just as there is nothing wrong with people smashing out gens there is nothing wrong with people wanting the 4k, its their goal after all.

The old emblem system had its failings but it did kind of take contribution into account.
Surely its possible to rank up and down based on escape/kills but adjust the total according to contribution.
The value shifts up and down based on escape/death but is then bracketed in how much it shifts by your emblem outcome.
Its possible to die and lose but contribute a lot so you only go down slightly, whereas its possible to do nothing all game and escape and then you only rank up slightly.
-
Ok the issue here isn't that you need lithe to be basekit, its that you are getting baited and losing vault mind games.
So what your asking for is an effect where even if you misjudge the vault and lose the mindgame you can still escape from the killer and you want that to be built in.
A vault isn't a catapult auto escape for a survivor, if it was then mindgames become even more useless and irrelevant than they are becoming now.
Exhaustion perks are strong and can save your butt in a pinch but that's exactly why they shouldn't be basekit, it costs a perk slot to have strong perks as it should.
