Old Freddy ain't coming back. They moved away from aura reading in killer powers back in 2018 and basekit megaslowdowns are a total non-starter. What does that leave? Manual entry to the dream world? What's the point?
Plus old Freddy was a giant DC magnet. Everybody hated him at the time, which was why he was reworked in the first place.
That's not to say he doesn't need changes. But they should go forward, not back.
More likely they will give him the ability to switch between snares and pallets, and maybe give him some other toys as well.

Nah I don’t think it should even show the killer. Just other survivors
I mean make the survivor aura component basekit and then buff the remaining killer aura component so the perk is still useful.
-
Yes, obviously. The devs suggested it themselves years ago.
I've lost count of the number of times that the lack of Kindred on my solo teammates has led to horribly inefficient plays and/or gotten everyone killed.
It is absolutely mandatory in solo queue and if you're playing solo without it, don't ever complain about the state of solo queue. You're part of the problem.
Make the perk show only the killer aura, maybe with a bigger range or extend it to work on downed survivors as well.

Remove the "Level X" message that pops up between bloodwebs.
Just go straight to the next bloodweb.
-
Pros: You will probably win.
Cons: Nobody is having fun, probably not even you.
-
I wish they would stop awarding bonus BP for completing event gens. All this does is make survivors focus the gens even harder, which obviously sucks for killers. And worst of all is when:
- You get tunnelled all game while your teammates hoover up all the bonus BP
- You get a gen to 90%, the killer comes and chases you away, somebody else swoops in and takes your bonus BP
-
Probably because they are nothing alike.
-
It kinda sucks that if I run Dramaturgy, I'm basically dropping wallhack beacons all around the map every time I get an item.
-
I'm not going to remember what perks my teammates are running.
Expanding the HUD a little bit to include certain perks would be a help, like they do with perk buffs and debuffs.
Something like this: (eg. this shows when the teammate is on the hook and the perk is active)
-
They should do this for Ripley as well.
Game Ripley is too smol.

In addition to folks pointing out the the non-significance comes from comparing the trend across time points, it also looks pretty similar across region too. So not a lot of difference in perception of tunneling regardless of when or where you play.
But the use of average here is a little misleading. We don't have counts of instances of tunneling, what we have is the average respondent answered in this bracket. So mean is not an entirely appropriate measure of significance here. The last bracket also include the 0 counts which likely overly influences any averages.
If you want to take anything from the graphs as a whole, its that perception of tunneling is skewed toward the lower end, which means players in general, according to the categories of this survey, feel they are being tunneled in less than half of there games, with the greatest representation being tunneled in less than a quarter of their games.
So if a player "on average" experiences tunneling in ~1-2 games out of 5, how big of an impact is it really having?
So if a player "on average" experiences tunneling in ~1-2 games out of 5, how big of an impact is it really having?
1-2 games out of 5 would be extremely concerning and a far cry from the "hardly ever happens" being peddled above.

I said the difference between times of day is mostly insignificant, not the actual rate of reported tunneling.
What I mean is that if tunneling is only happening 20% of the time, that's still kind of a lot.
And the stats show the average is always above 20% no matter the time of day.
It's certainly a lot more common than facecamping, which was addressed (sort of).
-
Maybe I'm missing something but how is an average of 21-40% insignificant?
-
-
If you are already struggling, I don't understand why you would ever want to cheese wins with scummy, boring tactics just to be rewarded with even harder games in the future.
It just makes the game a worse place for everyone, including you.
-
Three streamers, one of which was a year ago, another will actually keep playing the game anyway.
Truly a crisis for DBD.
-
I'll still milk new chapters and events(Temporarily) -
None of the perks are unhealthy on their own.
The problem is when they are stacked together, which is sadly very common.
-
I got lucky with this and went against a Spirit who was swinging like Babe Ruth at every pallet, so I just kept running around three times.
I later realised that she had Hubris and wanted me to stun her and then panic run so she could zoom up behind me for the insta-down. But I got my challenge so I didn't care.
So yeah, just go against that specific Spirit and you'll be fine 👍️
Alternatively, you can bait hits while the killer is carrying a teammate. Take Breakout for extra value.
-
Survivor perk variety is the best it's ever been.
Killer perk variety cured my insomnia.
-
It is becoming increasingly clear that stacked regression perks are unhealthy for the game, no matter how well-designed or balanced they might be individually.
I propose a global cooldown, much like how Exhaustion was introduced to prevent survivors from stacking those perks together.
ie. After any major regression event (defined as damaging any generator(s) for a value higher than the basekit 5%), the killer is affected by a new status effect which lasts for 45 seconds, preventing any other major regression events from procing during that time.
Something needs to be done at any rate. Survivor is depressing at the moment.
-
Terrifier sucked tho.
-
Nobody wants to reward scumbag killers that tunnel you out at 5 gens with no points.
-
Anybody playing solo queue without Kindred is simply part of the problem.
The fact that it still isn't basekit is mindboggling at this point.
-
Wiggling gives a bunch of points, too.
-
Nobody wants to bring a BPS only to get tunneled out with no points while the killer gets double their usual huge BP amount.
That's just the state of the game right now.
-
Do you have Discord running?
Because I think it's from that.
Try disabling and re-enabling the overlay.
-
*opinions
-
Just because a whole bunch of noobs are keeping his killrate down, doesn't mean he's weak.
A good Singularity is one of the most oppressive things in the game.
-
He's just a bit bland, but nowhere near the bottom of the list in terms of fun to play against.
Certainly better than old Freddy, though.
-
Survivor
Trying to single-handedly power through 7-8 gens against four slowdowns while your teammates get tunneled out or do their archives aint much fun.
Killer is an absolute breeze by comparison.
-
Add Grandpa, make him spawn randomly on the map. He would act as a secondary ability.
Survivor actions (or maybe each hook) contribute to Grandpa's awareness. Each level up gives Bubba a temporary or maybe permanent buff to his power (faster charge, longer sweep, faster tantrum recovery).
You know, like in the TCM game.
-
Only one time, because the killer had to go afk shortly after hooking me because he had some emergency to deal with.
-
Just a few ideas:
- Faster way to set traps, like he just tosses them down onto the floor while he's walking
- Unlimited carrying capacity
- Survivors are Hindered for 30 seconds after escaping a trap
- Traps spawn already armed
You might say, "But with unlimited carrying capacity he will be able to lock down shack harder than ever".
As a Trapper main, it really saddens me to see so many useless killers doing this when there is so much more to his gameplay.
The solution is simple. Either make all doorways wider so survivors can still squeeze past, or make it so they cannot be trapped at all. Basement Trapper needs to go, end of story.
-
Blocking all the way. If the gen is blocked, I can cleanse/bless a totem, heal a teammate (or myself), do a chest, go for a flashlight save, etc...
If the gen is regressed, there is no time for anything other than more mind-numbing, soul-destroying M1.
I wish that Pain Res worked more like Deadlock and simply blocked the most progressed gen.

He was changed for bad reason. People called him weak and there was a lot posts to buff him.
BHVR needed to give him some buffs and some QoL, not full rework.
He was reworked because everybody hated to play against him and because newer players struggled against him.
His basekit slowdown hit solo players much harder because they couldn't coordinate nearly as well as SWF.
His basekit aura reading also goes against the devs design philosophy from 2018 onwards. Legion was originally going to have aura-reading but they didn't like killers having such a precise tracking ability as part of their kit, which was why Killer Instinct was implemented. They also said that going forward, they wouldn't be using aura-reading for killer powers, hence why it was missing from his rework 6 months later.
He was absolutely miserable to play against and a total DC magnet.
No way in hell he is coming back.
-
Rework? Sure.
Old Freddy? Absolutely not. He was changed with good reason.
-
It wasn't just nostalgia.
The map is great and has a lot of unique gameplay.
-
Epic Games doesn't have an equivalent to Steam's beta branch feature, so releasing PTBs there would be impossible. Ditto most other platforms too.
As for your other question, I'm pretty sure turning crossplay on does match all PC platforms as well as the consoles. If you're on Steam and you see somebody with a globe icon typing in chat, they will be on Epic or MS store. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean?
-
The original version of Pale Rose.
I never really found its size to be too much of a problem, but everybody complained about it back in the day.
These days, I would say playing against Trickster. Everybody seems to hate him but I enjoy it.
-
There is definitely an issue with the servers. I'm getting 200 ping every game and pushed to main menu after every game with a disconnection error.
-
Kinda lame that I have to buy Alan Wake to do that Nea challenge.
-
Orange glyphs are the only ones that I hate.
Purple glyphs are kinda funny, especially when killers break off chase to get it like:
-
Post-processing set to 0 is a must. The godawful bloom effect makes my eyes bleed, especially on bright maps like Eyrie.
-
During the Hellraiser NFT fiasco.
It was hilarious.
-
This has always been the case, but in the past the slowdowns weren't quite so boring to play against.
At least with Ruin & Undying, you could look around for the totems and maybe interact with the killer in doing so.
Now it's just endure a ton of extra M1 every game. Survivor has become a tedious slog.
For the first time in 7 years, I'm taking toolboxes into games.
This really sucks.
-
Pickup lines? I'll stick with Self Care.
-
Niko Bellic from GTA4
Mid-chase your phone rings:
"Hey cousin, you wanna go bowling?"
"Not now Roman."
Etc...
-
It's only 4 maps, people will get bored of it pretty quickly.
