With how niche a use it has now, yeah, it should have its old stun back. The 5s stun would actually make it THE anti tunnel perk, and really punish killers that do it.
i noticed ever since they nerfed the stun time tunnelling has gotten so much worse

Killer gets looped for 15-30s here's a speed boost
Surivor REEEE NERF BLOOD LUST ITS AN OUTDATED MECHANIC INFINITS DONT EXIST ANYONE SO WHY KEEP IT
Killer breaks a pallet
Entity you shouldn't of done that "removes bloodlust"
Here's how to rework mft if a surivor vaults a pallet or drops one mft deactivates for 15s see how often it bloodlust is actually used against you
you do realise I play both right and bloodlust speeds and made for this speeds is completely different

There are still many, many unbalanced tiles in the game. That’s just fact. It has nothing to do with wanting an easier game, that’s just a way of discrediting anything anyone says that you disagree with. Not really an argument.
I play both sides main survivor tho but I play killer when I get sick of surv and rarely struggle unless it’s a really good swf

That's weird I hear survivors making excuses for things to get nerfed in this game way more than any killers
Dead hard blood rush was a hot topic made for this decisive strike reassurance Sprint burst even windows of opportunity prove thyself hyperfocus scavenger didn’t even make it to live and it wasn’t that good just a worst built to last medkits toolboxes the list goes on and I see basically killer mains crying about everything

Bloodlust doesn't need touched.
Survivors have pallets, perks to help them in chase, vaults, other teammates to take hits. Bloodlust goes away when pallets are broken etc.
This post screams "I play one side and I want you to do what's best for me because I have no experience with the other side"
P62 bubba p100 Cheryl yeah have no experience whatsoever with the other side you caught me out there shucks

Hot take bloodlust is a built in crutch for killersI mean, kinda, yeah, without it a killer who was outmatched would really have no chance against survivors who were clearly superior to them. It's somewhat unfortunate that there is nothing on the survivor side to keep the game interesting when they are getting crushed, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist for killer.
But it also adds other elements to the game. It gives a reason for the killer to stay in a strong loop knowing blood lust will eventually help them out. When they have bloodlust they now face a more critical decision on whether to break a pallet or not.
Yeah but that’s the thing people think that it’s wrong for a killer to load on and get outmatched but is it really I load in to many games where the killer is just simply better and I just have to put up with it

more like "if good setups / god loops gets deleted bloodlust needs gutting"
dont get me wrong I hate MFT but ..that perk only shows how insanely busted survivors can be with just a small amount of speed in order to make "already survivor sided loops" into "god setups with no mindgame"
the most effective way to play with MFT is playing smarter and safer ... pre-drop when you have too , make distance , repeat and abuse the 1 extra loop that the perk gives you pretty much on any tile to reach the maximun value out of the loop you are in , simple.
but i do agree that atleast bloodlust 3 should be removed.
I agree with bloodlust one I didn’t want it removed entirely I do play killer but made for this isn’t busted unless you are really good at looping and even then you can’t balance the game around the best of the best I made good use out of the perk but that’s because I know how to loop killers still eventually get me it might get me a extra loop around a tile maybe two depends if they respect or not

You are either unknowing of DBD design history or being willfully ignorant to push an agenda. Let's for the sake of civility say it is the former rather than the latter.
The reason Bloodlust exists is exactly as your were told. In the past this game used to have unconditional infinite loops created by wonky tile design and chaining. The ways these worked was that they prevented the killer from actually ever closing the gap as long as the survivor looped them in the correct manner. Now over time maps have been reworked to remove the most prevalent examples of this and to the devs credit they've done a good job keeping a close eye on potential infinite loops. The reworking of maps helped greatly, but before they came about Bloodlust was introduced as a mechanic to ensure that no matter what eventually the killer would be able to overtake survivors speed wise.
While true infinite loops are basically a thing of the past there are still exceptionally long and power tile chain. Bloodlust's primary function now is still to make sure these are kept manageable for killers, but typically killers aren't really benefitting a great deal from Bloodlust. You can build around it as the only perk that is tied to it is Beast of Prey and if you're constantly finding yourself in anything about tier 1 of bloodlust without a hit you've over committed to a chase and need to stop chasing. Made For This isn't a mechanic that exists to keep the game manageable due to a systemic design issue. It exists in the form it does because it most likely seems like a fun thing for survivors to have, but it does risk pooping on game balance. Nothing is designed around the existence of MFT, but maps are designed with Bloodlust in mind in both ways to mitigate it's usefulness and also support it's usefulness.
Dude I’ve played since 2017 just around mikeys release and been through practically every stage of dead by daylights development and I can’t be bothered to write paragraphs I mean what I said it’s crutch and the games health and loops are much better and I’m not talking about remove it entirely make it so it only goes to bloodlust one or something like that 3 is overkill and you know it

Counter Hot Take:
Bloodlust is a mechanic to allow killers who are not as strong in chase as the top tier chase killers, still have a presence in the game. How many times do you see Blights, Nurses, Onis, Weskers, Spirits enter bloodlust compared to Pigs, Myers, Trapper, Doctors or Hags?
Bloodlust is lost completely whenever a survivor takes a hit, or breaks a pallet, or if you can drop from chase using stuns and successful mind games to make distance.
I would argue that DbD devs expect players to fear killers and for chases to wrap up within a certain time frame more often than not, and any time you buy over that is considered a win. If you manage to loop the killer for 1 minute and 10 seconds for them to reach BL3 twice and down you, you've done an amazing job... you still got caught, but that is a win for you by any metric.
I never said bloodlust is insanely strong I just said it’s more of a crutch than anything and yes it is easy to counter it half of the time but the other half you might be at a weak tile and the killer refuses to break and just bloodlust’s you down my argument is kinda if survivors can’t have haste when injured why should the killer get it for chasing a survivor for too long I don’t want either nerfed but I think one can’t get nerfed without the other in my opinion
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
Neither need changing.
If MFT needs a nerf, it'd be it's secondary endurance effect if anything. I'd be more than fine with that being removed as it proves more frustrating for me than the main effect.
Bloodlust is somewhat outdated, however I don't mind it's presence, especially when certain combos can lead to infinites on specific maps.
I don’t want nothing nerfed but if made for this gets a nerf then bloodlust really should to because it a hard crutch on killer side especially when it goes up to 3

Being injured is hardly a requirement. It's the default state upon being unhooked. It's the state you go into when you get hit by majority of attacks. It's the state you get picked up into.
Being injured is the easiest things for survivors to do.
But then you have to stay injured if you want value from it My guy show me some good survivor gameplay of you staying injured all game and running the killer for multiple gens if you don’t have any gameplay or proof stop complaining saying ohhhh being injured is nothing when yes it really is lol
-
@Blueberry said:
Not really comparable. If the killers is needing bloodlust to get hits he’s already losing the game anyway since he doesn’t have that much time to waste on chases. Bloodlust is also still a bandaid fix for the multitude of extremely safe and unbalanced tiles still existing in the game, so currently still necessary.
It really isn’t tho the tiles aren’t unbalanced killers will say anything is unbalanced to get an easier game lol
-
@Crowman said:
Bloodlust and MFT are not comparable.
MFT has the easiest condition for survivors to meet and is always active.
Bloodlust takes at least 15 seconds to kick in and requires the killer to not use their power or break pallets during that entire time or it resets completely. Killers getting bloodlusted hits is far rarer than survivors using MFT. A killer who is consistently relying on Bloodlust for hits is going to lose to gen speed.
Being injured is a requirement and wow I’m getting rolled so I get free haste to crutch on it is comparable and I don’t think made for this will get nerfed because just shows how pathetic this dev team really is if it does just pander to whiny killers because they will spit their dummy out
-
@TheRealConsent said:
Bloodlust is countered by breaking pallets and hitting survivors.
If a killer has to bloodlust farm to get a hit, you've already outlived the lifespan of that chase. Be glad you lasted that long, and move on.
Dbd is a game where survivors are MEANT to lose chases. It's a matter of how fast you lose them so that your team can finish generators before you're out of hook stages.
You aren’t meant to die this is the killer mentality I find so cringe if the killer hits bloodlust then they are just bad at the game made for this is fine bloodlust tbh isn’t fine and is an built in counter to made for this
-
@Tsulan said:
What makes you think that they are bad?
If a killer has his bloodlust without one single hit that means they are bad bloodlust is a crutch for bad killers but ya know made for this is such a problem killers are babies

@Wiccamanplays said:
This is personal. I don't like being gaslit by a perk. I don't like not being certain why some hits don't connect when they would have normally, and having to consider whether it's latency, cheating or this perk. I don't understand why being injured in DBD should be a condition that makes you better at everything than an uninjured person: Made for This discourages survivors from healing, provides a long-lasting and incredibly powerful buff for literally making a mistake or 'losing' a chase as a Survivor– giving the Killer a hit. What's more, Made for This has unhealthy synergies with a bunch of other perks, especially endgame ones, which effectively punish the Killer for not tunnelling Survivors out of the game before gens are complete. Adrenaline is already a slap in the face for a Killer that didn't do this, but coupled with MfT it's like a slap in the face and a kick in the shins. All the Killer perks which increase movement speed are highly conditional: they either require a lot of work to activate (kick 2 different gens and have the 2nd one be finished before you kick a 3rd; break something while chasing the Obsession without hitting them or losing chase etc.) or are relatively easily lost (cleanse a totem, hit a survivor etc.), and rightly so: messing with movement speed messes with the core structure of the game's pacing and map geometry.
And all this is not even considering the second effect of MfT: giving a Survivor Endurance for completing a healing action. There's already so many sources of Endurance in the game– like OTR, WGLF, Buckle Up, Dead Hard (yes people still run that perk) and the proliferation of syringes you see in medkits thanks to Bloodweb changes– that I don't think another perk should give Survivors a free additional health state for doing something that would otherwise be the bare minimum if MfT weren't incentivising remaining injured.
The worst part about all of this is that Made for This isn't even a big deal if you're playing a top 3 Killer: if you can teleport or move at 180% speed then 3% means nothing against you. It's all the weaker Killers who already struggle to keep up that get victimised by the perk's horribly annoying feature.
I would remove one of the effects of Made for This, perhaps giving it to a weaker or reworked perks elsehwere and probably nerf the one that remains. The speed boost should have a limited duration after being injured, like Overcome (e.g. your movement speed increases by 3% when you are injured for 20/30/40 seconds). Instead of Endurance, maybe some other kind of benefit could be applied for healing another Survivor, though I'm not sure what wouldn't end up being useless like Better than New is.
I'd also consider more broadly how speed perks synergise: perhaps only the highest speed buff should apply at a given time, rather than having each of them stack multiplicatively. Using Hope and MfT to be as fast as some killers in the Endgame is just gross, and it shouldn't be possible. I'd say Adrenaline should also be nerfed into the ground for how well it works with this perk, but that's a separate post.
Nerf bloodlust then you lose because they outplayed you not because of made for this you guys are such cry babies honestly if made for this gets nerfed I’m already p100 so when texas chainsaw comes out this game will honestly be dead to me killer mains go on so pathetic it’s ridiculous
-
@Emeal said:
Its reward is also getting free out of a grab and starts a new chase, that can easily cost the killer 30 seconds when pallets are used.
+ the reduction in stun duration was because people abused it together with Head on the stun the Killer for many seconds.
DS is still a good perk and I uses it often as a contingency against tunneling. The nerf hardly changed the Survivability.
the 4% usage rate says different the fact Nerf ds is a meme now shows how bad it is it’s laughably and it wasn’t nerfed because it’s synergy with head on it was down to pick rate
-
We honestly need to fight for this buff ever since decisive strike has been nerfed into oblivion tunnelling is Uncounterable and killer mains will say use off the record when basekit bt is there and you get hit through that anyways I hope the devs listen

Yet people still take pride in their ability to play one, and complain about the other side. It's absolute insanity. Also, before you try and say it, I play mostly survivor.
Nah it’s not really when you play solo queue 4 man swf yes but solo is totally different in my opinion playing in a 4 man is stress free when solo is more stressful than any killer match I have ever played

Bro I’ve played since the Halloween release I have more fun running a nurse than the knight there is an actual counter break line of sight and do weird pathing and you should be good the knight is awful and boring the nurse actually requires skill so I can respect a good nurse

i think the knight would be more interesting if the banner was actually more reasonable to get in chase. of course that would make him much weaker but i feel he would be at least more engaging.
I agree and the clown was just more of like yeah he’s alright not the worst to go against it’s not really fun gameplay but definitely not the worst my opinion is either his guards should not have down potential or a really big cool down if you want to set them on survivors I think guards should be just used for map pressure tbh

skull merchant place up a drone- sorry u can't loop here!
dredge put down a remnant- u most likely cant loop here
clown throw 2 to 3 bottles- u most likely can't loop here.
knight just another in the long list

Why do you change the subject??
changing the subject the counter play is holding W are you reading what you’re writing holding W isn’t counter play when the killer is faster than you you are just running away and hoping you don’t get zoned that isn’t counter play

-
@RaSavage42 said:
If they did do that then we will be back to DS and Unbreakable
So on one hand it'll help out with all of the Tunneling but screw over the Killers that don't want to or accidentally do it
Not to mention that bodyblocking with basekit BT is already a thing and it will be amplified by DS
DS is there for a purpose I agree some people may have abused it but other than that it’s there to help you either way 3 seconds isn’t worth a perk slot and basekit Bt helps you a little bit it’s easily waited out

If any changes were to be implemented I'd day maybe move it to 5 second stun but even that doesn't seem needed to me. People used DS in ways it wasn't intended before (mostly as a weapon against the killer rather than a defensive option to prevent tunneling). Thing seeing used in ways not for their original purpose is why nerfs like DS needed to happen. I honestly think the built in BT is also not good because the unhooked person bodyblocks the unhooker when really its designed to be an option to prevent the unhooked person from being tunneled. I'd like that to be changed up a bit to discourage it being qeaponized against the killer and more encourage protection from tunneling like its intended
And body blocking with basekit bt is just asking to get tunnelled

I agree that it's not a very strong perk, but I don't think it ought to be because before it was used on every single survivor and there were situations where you didn't tunnel a survivor but they still got DS. You would just be forced to slug survivors and it just wasn't fun for either side. High mmr survivor is not stressful. You sometimes have to accept your team will sandbag you unfortunately
High mmr solo queue is stressful i play both usually iri 1 killer and survivor and I know that doesn’t mean much now a days but it shows I play both sides a lot and killer is not stressful at all because if you lose that is a skill issue and they were better now tell me how Hard tunnelling someone relentlessly all game makes you better no it doesn’t survivor is full of Bs that makes it unbearable at times and The simple fact is don’t tunnel and you won’t eat DS if you want to tunnel you eat the DS it’s that simple
-

But 3 seconds with the 2 second animation doesn’t work and really Dstrike with five seconds isn’t gonna hurt the killer that much and if it does then that’s their problem really if you tunnel and you eat a DS you can’t sit and cry about it if you play in higher mmr survivor you would know current Dstrike does nothing like when killers complained about dead hard I doubt a single killer main would be able to go into a survivor game and get good use out of dead hard it’s one of them where killers think the role of survivor is easier when it’s just as hard maybe not in a swf but solo is more stressful than playing killer coming from someone who plays both
