BUFF DECISIVE STRIKE

if a perk can only get used once disabled in endgame which hot take I don’t agree with at all sometimes it’s where you needed it most but I get how it could be frustrating why is ds been made one of the most useless perks in the game and a waste of a perk slot a shadow of what it once was and basically very depressing to use now how have the devs not noticed tunnelling is a big issue and everyone complains about it but nobody uses decisive why because the 3 second stun is just bad we need a buff and a good counter to tunnelling DS had a high pick rate because the perk did it’s job

  • Its reward is also getting free out of a grab and starts a new chase, that can easily cost the killer 30 seconds when pallets are used.

+ the reduction in stun duration was because people abused it together with Head on the stun the Killer for many seconds.

DS is still a good perk and I uses it often as a contingency against tunneling. The nerf hardly changed the Survivability.

the 4% usage rate says different the fact Nerf ds is a meme now shows how bad it is it’s laughably and it wasn’t nerfed because it’s synergy with head on it was down to pick rate

Ok and with 125 Survivor Perks, if all Perks were equal in strength the pick rate should be average 1.25% which means DS is still being picked 3.2 times more than the average. This means it has a pretty good pick rate for the amount of perks there are.

Idk why bHVR has said in their posts about the reasons for DS, but I recall a few posts about the stun length being abused.

I doubt pick rate was the sole reason for all the changes to DS.

1, every survivor is picking 4 perks instead of 1, so your math does not check out.

2, there are still people out there, that use it out of habbit - because it was meta for a long time

3, it actually hints more about how bad/nonexistent anti-tunnel perks actually are. The tactics is used in majority of games (can't say exact %, but I can say with clear conscience - that it's majority). People want to bring perk that would help against it, but are left with OTR that helps only against soft tunnelers or this sorry-state DS.

4, the perk does nothing against stronger killers - those are the ones that actually do tunnel more, because they tryhard on strongest killer (like DS against me if I am playing nurse usually buys survivors 8 extra seconds - that counts whole stun duration, charge duration, lounge duration, hit CD and pickup time - a 1-time perk that can potentially help you by whooping 8s and 0s if killer does not tunnel). The perk that should help exactly in this situation is ill-suited to get it's job done. That's exactly what I call bad design.

  • People stopped using it because OTR is better, not bs DS is trash. You can easily extend a chase an extra 30s with the ds proc. it just doesnt automatically guarantee chasing you is waste of time, which I think is better game design. Sometimes tunneling is fair and just the right play and old ds made it near impossible in those scenarios. At least with otr you just slap em and its gone. plus otr is literally just ds but way better.

OTR: 80s timer that prevents the killer from hooking you from hitting you while injured, along with iron will and distortion

DS: That but less long and less distance gained and without the extra benefits

though they can be devastating when used together.
