Honestly cannot fathom how we are two killers in since her release and they've not touched her.

medkits are weak I dodge lobbies with 4 toolboxes not medkits, injured meta exist for a reason it's a chore to heal now, sloppy butcher is top 2 most popular killer perk because it's broken, OP is right healing for solos is a joke I just equip resilience and go rush gens, way better
This is the sad truth... but then it leads to a call for further nerfs to perks and toolboxes which just makes the game even worse.
Looking back I can see how OP CoH + medpack was and I don't even mind the nerf to only get one heal out of a medpack. But the nerf to heal time is what makes healing now especially laborious. Especially, as you say, most killers now run sloppy so it's never a standard 24s. It's way more and if you get interrupted, which is often the case as killers now have more time to find you, then wave goodbye to any use out of your item.
Maybe medkits don't need a change and Sloppy needs a nerf. But something needs to change.

I have played 6 games today, and in every single game the killer proxy camped and forced trades. The new killer anti-camping mechanic would have done nothing in every single one of these situations.
BHVR implementing a mechanic that does nothing to achieve what they want it to? No. I simply won't believe it.

I get it if there are 2 survivors left and the killer slugs me because the other survivor is around and got found close to me. I have absolutely 0 issues with that. What sucks is when I'm downed and the other survivor is nowhere close to us but the Killer decides to slug me to find the other survivor searching the whole map. Such a waste of time.
Unfortunately, this is the most common occurance of 'slugging' we see and why so many complain about it. The mentality of ' just lie there till I want to come back for you' that most killers seem to see as acceptable really is an issue and its one of the biggest things I'd like to see changed moving forward.
-
Because you actually should have to work for your abilities to have impact ... in a nutshell.

My feelings towards the game constantly changes. If I had to answer once a week, it would range from anywhere from 1/10 to 10/10. At the moment I'd say my feelings are a 5/10.
I'm the same. Haven't played since last weekend but when I did, the game had settled down again from the initial post Alien release discustingness.
There's still way too much tunneling and camping at 5 gens making the game quite unpleasant far too often.
Some maps aren't in a great place at the moment and some perk reworks haven't been great in my opinion.
All in all I'd give it about a 6/10 just because if the overall turbulent nature of the game at the moment. Its too up and too down for me to truly enjoy it and since TCM came out when l do come back to it I just find it way too much of a chore.
-
The issue with OG Eruption was the block that it put on you and the effect that had when combined with other regression perks. This would take us right back there. It's a hard no from me.
-
Survivor sided? With the amount of wide open space for killers to see you from miles away and half the map always being a dead zone for gens with sheer amounts of nothingness all round the edge? Come on now. Yes it's a terrible map, but it's not survivor sided in the slightest.

IMO I didn't have problem with them on PTB and I thought they aren't big of a deal.
Now playing few games with him allready, they are getting kinda annoying. Not as bad as Singularity EMP's but not far from them either.
First, the hitbox is strange and doesn't register sometimes the hit. I am close to a turret, hit M1 and nothing happends, I got out of my power, then I hit again M1 without moving and now the turret is destroyed. The Tail attack can't even hit them half the time since they are far away from you and the Tail just can't deal with them unless you are half range into the firing range.
On top of all, you get VERY quickly out of your power. It takes like second or second a bit to react or reach the turret.
I've been in a few matches with him now and there have been multiple times the turret has hit him and not knocked him out of his power. Honestly they seem like a massive waste of time with no value from a survivor point of view. I won't be bothering with them moving forward.. at least taking time to get an EMP for singularity has a Good level of value.

Neither of you three has understood OPs first sentence.
"Has anyone seen the blood point bonus switch to the survivor side lately?"
Aka it apparently has been on killer permanently for OP for some time. Therefore they talk about killer as an "endangered species".
I see it on survivor regularly.
-
Surely the bloodpoint bonus on survivor is to encourage people to play survivor which would mean there are enough killers but not enough survivors. They're probably all on TCM.
-
"I loopped for two minutes".
Did the "gens pop/fly" too? With all due respect this is a mistake I see a lot of killers make and then blame the game for it. Never commit even half of this long to a chase. It's an instant downfall. Don't chase survivors who are better are looping you than you are at catching them unless you HAVE to (I.e. they're the only one left) and don't chase survivors who want to be chased. They're trying to waste your time.

A 2k is not a win.
That's what BHVR say is a win and it's their game, so yes it is.. 4Ks are meant to be exceptional wins and right now they're not.
...
Anyway the amount of palates that are pointless now is ridiculous. Many if them aren't even worth using now because by the time you've completed the animation the killer is on the other side with you. I will happily take a reduced number of palates if they're more useful..

I can relate to this, they shouldve added more maps, once you learn the maps and max out the survivors it gets a bit repetitive, there's no randomness to the maps. The concept of the game is good and it works I think it's the best player with friends when you want to goof off and chill
My biggest gripe at the moment is more that there is no incentive to attempt the more complex methods of escape. I've tried multiple times to do the basement fuse entrance and the valve pressure entrance and only been successful once. Normally killers can close the fuse entrance by flipping the fuse or just closing the door if they see it open; often it takes so long to get from the fuse to the basement again that this has happened. With the valve entrance If killers see the steam out the pipes they just camp the entrance till it closes again. This just makes it easier and more consistent to try the exists that require simple locpicking half the time. Also, the amount of time it takes to do this can be counterproductive as rhey can get Grandpa to 'nowhere to hide' level too quickly. They really need to address this more than anything.
-
Eh, I've been playing TCM all weekend and it's already in need of some tweaks for it not to get stale/annoying imo. It'll exist in a completely different sphere to DBD though.
-
TCM has already grown a bit stale for me. Not gonna lie. Every match feels way more samey than DBD surprisingly.

How you gone pick a meta character and tunnel? Like, it’s more understandable if your some basic M1 killer, but your literally playing as spirit, at 5 gens already tunneling.
it’s sickening.
'But killers need to tunnel because of... [insert ever changing list of reasons to justify it rather than say its just always going to be the easiest way to play] '.
-
Survivors cannot do anything without someone complaining about it.
Gens are the main objective, but its becoming classed as 'gen rushing' when you do them too soon for the killer's liking - usually when they've overcomitted to a chase.
If they do totems killers complain they're using them even though it wastes time off gens. Or they complain they're losing their hex perk.
If they do chests you get complaints of wasting time or abusing items.
If survivors do what secondary objectives there are killers that have them become 'powerless' and again there are complaints.
You're clearly never going to please everyone and I think we need to remember gens are the main objective.

The reason it is fun right now is because people are still learning the game. Give it a few weeks and the initial novelty factor will subside. Metas will form, people will learn the most efficient paths and the fun will quickly drain away.
I've been playing the game for about 3 hours and this already the case. The most straight forward exits are the ones you go to every time because the other more convoluted ways really aren't worth the time and effort. I'm already escaping some games in less than 5 mins because of this. Killers are either non existent in the match or way strong. It needs quite a bit of tweaking and changes otherwise its going to have very little staying power imo..
-
Sorry about the shortness of that message; I had literally loaded into the match as I was reading your post and wanted to respond.
I've had other farm maps today and this was the first time I've had it today, but I have had it a few times since the rework so definitely nothing wrong with it. Probably just bad map generation - I've had tonnes of Macmillan coal shed today for some reason. Not seen The Game for quite a while.
-
Literally just loaded into it.

where do you play? I just don't see that.
same. Most of my maps are either 4 man escapes or 4 sacrifices and hardly any or even no gens done. Been that way for some months now and its really impacting the game..
-
I much prefer the night versions. Would love a night version of Ormond too.
I've never understood why Dead by Daylight has daytime maps... makes the name redundant.
-
Just get rid of it. Now we have bots (who have played better than some people) I don't see the point in it. It will also solve the issue of hook suicides.
-
It's a one time perk that you need to survive until the end game to use. No, its not a problem. Half the time if the killer is already on you it makes no difference anyway unless you play super well, have other team members to distract or are super lucky.
Killers have perks like NoED and Devour Hope which allow so much clout. Survivors are allowed to have something marginally similar.
Also, I've not yet been in one match where more than two people run adrenaline. I don't know where these 4 stack builds are but my guess is they're probably at high MMR where I never bother trying to reach and by thay point you're probably doing well enough without yet more nerfs to help you get the 4k.
-
Absolutely hate her. Ate a 15 minute ban earlier because the match was just so unpleasant.
I'm not even that serious a player. I don't care about escaping as long as I have fun... but neither happen against her.
-
It's always been like this and one reason I feel he is way too oppressive overall. People say if you wait to be grabbed by three chains then do the box straight after it's fine but really it's the luck of the draw with it.
-
It sounds good on paper, but for long term viability of the match. It doesn't work. ⁸
-
Great. Let's rework CoH again too. That used to be in every load out and isn't anymore. Let's get it back in..

Yup. That's the buff BHVR gave survivors. Immunity frames during vaulting. That's why everyone is so upset.
After months of killers swinging for hits that land when the animation is meters away from your character model I think they can cope.
-
I dont think we will due to the nature of the game. As a member of the LGBT+ community, I'm not too bothered if we don't personally. Characters pesonal lives don't come into DBD at all for the most part. Ive been playing DBD aince 2017 and ive never really bothered with any of the in depth character lore because it just isnt necessary to play the game. AFAIK Felix is the only one who has a wife and child in Canon. There's nothing stopping your Vittorio being gay or your Jane being lesbian or your Nea being non binary - especially with all the cosmetics available. If DBD were a narrative focused game then I'd be more enthusiastic about it. But you're largely running around a trial with no story to it.
-
I agree with a lot of this. I've tried the 'just take a tape' counterplay suggested and it's honestly too inefficient. She Still seems to teleport round way too quickly. No gens get done because you're spending too much time worrying about tapes.
In the event you can get to gens, the game seems to become unwinnable as she teleports, chases you off, kicks (combined with regression) and repeats over and over again. It's honestly just the skull merchant over again with extra annoyance. She really does need to be changed... again.

My personal biggest issue with hooks spawns is how basement can completely screw you over as killer. No nearby hokks due to basement but realistically you cannot get the survivor in there. A good example of this is when it spawns in main building on eyrie. Hooks are usually alright otherwise though.
But I will say for us console killers you don't always get to choose which hook you go for. The wiggle effects feel harder for us to counter so I can't always risk walking to the hook I'd like to just in case I get stuck on a doorway or random piece of scenery.
Imo they just need to get rid if basement all together at this point. Its a redundant feature now. No killers apart from camping insidious Bubbas use it anymore. It's a relic from when they basement hooks were the only ones you couldn't permanently destroy. Now all hooks respawn its a pointless area.
I cannot get on board with sacrificed hooks respawning though. With how prominent camping and tunnelling is and how often killers will gravitate round the same hook (because despite what many say carrying a survivor across the map without them getting off is not on the whole that difficult) and use it endlessly. We have seen a massive increase in killers using their 'most efficient playstyle' lately which has resulted in making matches stale and we don't need to add another factor like that in.
-
How about we have more servers AND leave the Vaults the way they are considering they've been fixed, not buffed AND fix palates? Both have had BS validation for a long time. 5 times yesterday I managed to stun a killer with a palate and Still got hit. One should register, not both.
-
I see Lethal and Corrupt in WAY too many matches for me to believe they're that far down the list.
-
I've been running bond recently and the amount of people just running off to a corner to use it or doing it to troll you (let you come in for the heal then pop up and run off so the killer goes after you) is quite surprising. It's quite a selfish perk which I did not anticipate.

That’s weird because hooks spawn within 20 meters of each other every time I play.
I can legit see 2 other hooks from every hook I'm on in most matches these days.
-
They just need to make all hooks work like cages of atonement. Survivor is hooked - hook moves to a random place on the map.
Killer cannot instantly camp as they have to travel across the map to get to the hook.
Survivors can also not just just hand around the hook swapping each other out and cannot rescue in the killers face (a premise I don't understand anyway).
Cage of Atonement itself should be buffed to compensate.

For those of you that've been here for a while and know me, I play the game, take month-breaks, come back... etc.
So I've decided to return after D4 kind of disappointed me and I'm waiting for BG3 to release.
I met a couple of new killers which I find to be the same in terms of gameplay.
Lady Wolverine does nothing but camp gens with her drones, making it extremely boring and forcing people to DC because there is no game progression after a while.
Robocop installs cameras everywhere, mostly camping gens, and shoots robocop portals at your back. Ending up in the same boring scenario as you do for Lady Wolverine.
Will Alien also lay eggs next to gens and shoot little aliens at you to prevent you from repairing as well?
Is this BHVR's new way to playstyle? It's boring, let me tell you. It induces no fear, it just feels like a chore. Having to run back and forth to print those EMP weapons is A-NNOYING as it is having to run to a drone to do a Mortal Kombat combo on them to deactivate them. And all of this is temporary. You need to go about it a hundred times, while avoiding the killer.
Please, do not make this the new play style for the game. You're not only forcing hook camping but also gen camping.
Given generators stared consistently spawning with 2/3 within sight of each other on near enough every map variation earlier this year and the type of killers they've launched I'll never not be convinced that they intended for this boring 3 gen play style as a choice. I'm glad it's getting so much backlash because it's an absolutely abysmal choice..

Sure... because him racing you to prevent a window vault is the same thing as a sure fired lost chase.
There is no 'race'. Killers are naturally faster than survivors. Wraith is faster than some killers when cloaked. It's not even blocking window Vaults it's literally running with/into you no matter where you try and go, and sometimes even forcing you into walls/holding you at gens where you can't move etc as he unloaks to hit you. It's a busted mechanic and the one thing that makes him such a bore to play against because it feels cheap.

People used to play until the match was over.
Now, they quit for absolutely everything. Weak killer, strong killer, good map, bad map. There's no reasaonable logic to it.
What's happening, and what can be done to reduce it?
You just know some matches are going to be a write off tbh.

Not sure if anyone paid attention or looked at the Bug Fix Patch Notes, but Fast Vaults got a massive change.
- "Fixed an issue that caused the fast Vaults to have the same vaulting distance as the Slow and Medium Vaults." (Bug Fixes - Characters - 1st Bullet Point - https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/401).
This one change also has a side effect, the hitbox of your Survivors moves faster through the window and does not linger as long. This makes it harder to be hit at a window while Fast Vaulting. This can be further modified with a perk like Resilience.
Ive noticed that, as Killer, I am getting far less hits at windows and, as Survivor, I am getting hit far less at windows.
I originally thought Fast Vaults were bugged and that's why they felt so fast and smooth but when checking the Patch Notes I noticed this was an intentional change by BHVR. Im posting this to bring more attention to this since some people are probably confused from seeing this ingame.
That's the point.
What's the point in vaulting if the killer still hits you 95% of the time? They've felt unfair from a survivor angle for a LONG time.
-
I often feel bad if a killer loses a 4K and has few hooks; ill normally give them a hook. Unless it's blight, wraith or Legion.

That's basically the best (and only) thing his power can do for chases though. Taking that away removes the 1 thing for chases that separates him from a trapless trapper.
I might as well just stand still and let him hit me then. Make it easier for everyone involved.

Honestly don't know how they haven't implemented cage of torments premise as standard yet.
-
The only thing I don't like about him is how he can, and most do, body block you. He shouldn't have collision when cloaked.
In general, Nurse, Dredge, Spirit, Cenobite and skull merchant are all way more unpleasant.

You are correct in that this is the majority of the complaints, but you need look at it critically and view it in context.
People spam the teleport because it is the most effective way to build condemn now. As a result, people complain about the spam because the condemn can be oppressive. However the ability to spam teleport is significantly reduced compared to before. For example, before there was no cooldown on it, now there is a 10 second cooldown. As a result, her mobility is weaker than before. If BHVR adjusts her to make condemn not a threat, then Onryo will absolutely be a worse off killer than she was previously because they have in fact nerfed key parts of her kit, aside from condemn which they have buffed.
I don't personally think the cooldown is much of a hindrance based on the Sadakos ive seen. Come out a TV, have a quick look round, smack a survivor or chase them off a gen - your cooldown is done and you teleport. That conbined with the shorter down time for TVs allows her Repeat this ad infinitum so no one can get anything done - this tends to be how it's going at the moment.
The update, as far as I'm aware, was meant to be a choice of build condemned or have map pressure but right now players are cheesing the system to have both... but just taking an extortionate amount of time to do so.

@Skitten56 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3495169#Comment_3495169
Exactly. They made the entire rework about global condemn and nerfed her mobility to try and balanace it. When you make her mobility weaker to an already weak killer in order to make everything about condemn, it is no surprise people are going to start playing her with a focus on condemn as well. Nerfing her mobility is what made her good and fun to play. To buff condemn at the expense of her mobility was a horrible idea. It just incentivizes people even more to do broken condemn strategies instead of playing her as a map pressure mobility killer.
They need to revert most of the changes and remove global condemn which is deeply flawed and hard to balance, and instead focus more on her mobility factor.
Yet ironically the majority of complaints I'm seeing are about her spam teleporting and having too much map pressure.
