  • This seems to have been a change across the board. I noticed you can't use an item if holding onto an F Aid Spray or EMP too.

To be fair to BHVR (yes it does happen occasionally) its the same premise as before but you're just more mobile.

  • The thing I find ironic is that they're all very similar in ways; there are elements of Sadako in Dredge, elements of Knight in Skull Merchant and elements of SM in Singularity- both visually (the map reworked to fit the SM looks a lot like the interiors of Toba Bay for example) and their abilities - tech based etc.

It really feels like they're on a conveyor belt with killers. The focus is quantity not quality. Its been said so many times but at this point they need to stop throwing killers out every three months and focus on improving what's already there. Two new killers and survivors per year is more than enough and would give them time to actually think them through.

How there is no Vampire killer in the game yet, for example, is beyond me and that would lead to some really inventive perks. They need to stop and be reflective.

  • Why don't we just remove the doors and hatch all together? Just make it so survivors have no way to actually win because that's genuinely the vibe of posts like this.

Like seriously, how do these two groups exist in the same game? I am honestly baffled how it's possible.

The first group is people who learned to play her in one plastyle that's now been discouraged.

The second is a group of people who now play her in a different way that's very oppressive to the actual objectives of the game (and also goes against the reason they made the change). This I'm not a play to win survivor, but ive been playing the game since 2017 and am fairly competent. The amount of matches I've gone against her on where you can't even get a gen done is increasing - that's an issue.

That isn’t “taking advantage of”. That’s literally just normal game play. The game is balanced around solo queue, aka not having that info. You act like it’s something nefarious. The entire point of knock out IS to deny info. The fact that it takes extra time away from generators to find the survivor is entirely the point of the perk and slugging, that’s it’s intended job. You make it sound like slugging is toxic or something.

It’s extra annoying on larger maps yes but those larger maps are also the worst maps for killer in general, so an even trade at least.

    I don’t see the issue.

It's an issue when it's done to multiple survivors at the same time (often repearedly) and you're just left to bleed our or cannot get anything done. This type of play is becoming endemic at the moment. It's happening multiple times a day when I'm playing.

To be honest, BHVR need to stop trying to placate killers at the moment because despite every update given to them to discourage scummy behaviour they just play that way more because its easier. The multiple killers who moaned about needing to camp/tunnel because 'dead hard was busted' only to then turn around after the nerf and say 'haha yeah I just did it cause it was easy and I'll continue now that it's even easier' was a massive marker of the beginning of this behaviour and its only got worse.

  • Its less about the condemned for me but more about how much map pressure she has now, despite complaints between being able to teleport between TVs and become invisible she had strong map pressure for me as a survivor. Now every match I play against her we can't get gens done because she's everywhere. I know they changed her to be a condemned or map pressure killer but imo they need to evaluate how much the change has impacted everything.

I don't get BHVRs attitude of throwing it out into live and then leaving it as I dong personally feel a PTB is enirelt representative of live anyway.

  • Windows/Vaults are getting worse lately for me. I'm constantly getting grabbed when I've cleared the window and my feet hit the floor on the other side. This allows the likes of Wesker to get some BS hits in. It's not my Internet cause it isn't every match but it's definitely happening more.

And I'm saying that suggestion would negatively impact those of us who are playing her, but not 3 genning and instead wanting to constantly cover certain traversal areas or strong loop chain areas. For those of us who are trying to use the power proactively, not being able to replace drones just makes an already not great power just feel worse and less useful. Meanwhile we don't have a fallback ability that isn't tied to her drones that she can just use. The way to solve the problem is not by doing what BHVR tends to do which is make a power clunky and annoyingly locked out.

They could just as well solve the issue by altering the drone function rather than just make the power worse. Like for all the discussion that goes on in the forums about Skull Merchant the vast majority don't seem to give a damn about any of the people playing this killer aside from those using her to time out games. Tons of threads with the vast majority of opinions being take from her, make her functionally worse with complete disregard how that effects other players outside of the ones timing out games, calls for her to be outright deleted, and dumb takes from folks like Scott Jund sitting there saying Skull Merchant players deserve to only play against bots.

The fact that she needs a rework isn't something I dispute cause I in fact agree. She needs substantial changes, but they need to be good changes that take into account that people actually play and like things about this killer that are worth preserving or at least not just saddling her with bad feeling mechanical limitations.

I sympathise with you, but you're too few and far between. Big change is needed for her but I don't think its going to please anyone who plays as her unfortunately. She's too fundamentally flawed imo.

  • I had an ace and Jeff like this on the RPD the other week. It was me and Rebecca with Gunslinger just trying to figure out what was going on. We even tried to get the GS to hook us but they'd made it so he couldn't. Did all but 1 gens instantaneously and kept reverting the final one (atop the stairs) to zero every time we got to 40%.

The ace left early on but the Jeff stayed for ages and held us all hostage. It was bizarre.

    She already can't do that.

The game just flat out locks you out of dropping a drone in a way that makes it overlap an area with a drone in where it is in active mode or search mode.

Now if you're talking about making it so she can't place a drone down in a spot where one was just hacked, that's going to basically mess her up for those of us who are playing her and not 3 genning, but alternate between dropping drones mid chase and dropping drones to get undetectable in specific areas. Please understand that literally her entire character function is in her drones and without being able to freely use them she legit has no power.

I'm talking about the game logging the radius of recently deactivated drones and not allowing a new one to he put up within it for a certain amount of time. That's ultimately the biggest issue.

  • The easiest way to fix her is to ensure she can't put a drone up in an area that overlaps with that of a drone that been deactivated for 'x' seconds. If this cooldown were added it would make her much more bearable and not change how she plays too much for those who like her.

Why do people keep saying they "let the killer have the 3 gen" when people have explained why it doesn't matter what order the gens are completed? How are you arriving at that conclusion?

    Willful ignorance.

  • I think BHVR should take a leaf out of Friday the 13th's book and have a variety of things to do e.g. collecting parts within the level to repair a gen/door switch perhaps even have different ways of escape than just doing gens.

  • I played against an SM on Gas Haven the other day and it took a similar amount of time. The killer played abysmally from the start clearly just protecting three gens in the centre of the map. The annoying thing was they weren't even that close together but through a combination of her drones and her perks (she was packing Overcharge, call of brine, Corrupt intervention and sloppy) she was able to hold the gens at nothing or close to nothing by infinitely kicking them.

If you took a drone down she immediately put another one up, kicked the gen and walked off. Repeat ad infinitum. It took four of us about 50 mins to whittle the gen up through increasingly risky plays (e.g allowing the exposed status effect and trying to get her to chase/hook). We eventually managed to get the last gen done. But it took four of us to and we struggled. She then basement hooked one of us and camped her through two hook states for the most undeserved kill I've ever witnessed.

I do not understand how her kit has not been amended yet. I don't understand how she has seemingly infinite drones Still. I do not understand how there is no cooldown to being able to use them: whether that be a timer until she gets to use a drone again or a geographical block e.g. no drone can be put up within the radius of a deactivated one for 'x' seconds. There's literally no point in deactivating a drone when she can come back, instantly put another one up whilst not even stopping moving and repeat endlessly. Especially as once you're tagged with a drone battery you can't take down another. It's a completely flawed and illogical concept. She really needs tweaking.

  • Yes, but I've also seen a massive surge of matches with Nurses, Skull Merchant and Huntresses running Lethal and Corrupt, so I can't say I blame them really.

  • I haven't played the game in a few weeks and played again last night and today. Honestly, out of about 10 matches I'd say 7 of them has camping and tunnelling and slugging.

    It's getting bad.

  • Every map i play on there are two hooks visible from every one you're on. This really isn't an issue and if it is one consistently for you I think it's an issue of your own making, just as killers say non-early game protected 3 gens are for survivors.

Hooks used to be permanently breakable with a tool box. Be glad that doesn't exist anymore.

Almost all of my games are so easy now. It seems most survivors don't know how to loop well at all and this whole time it was just Dead Hard extending their chases.

DH and healing got gutted and the killer is the power role, all things that the killers specifically asked the dev to do.

This means chases are not worth it. You are either a cracked looper with a really lucky pallet/window spawn or your chase will last 20 seconds.

The moment the first player goes down, it's a race against the clock, as you'll have two players busy with rescuing and healing (the rescuer and the rescued) and a third player in chase, dramatically reducing your gen repair efficency.

What this means is, if you're not close to 1 generator remaining by the first two minutes, the game is essentially lost.

DH allowed some innefficency to slip by, but it's now dead, so everyone is stressed out of their minds to have a sliver of a chance to win, and what you're asking them to do is to ignore the objective and essentially doom themselves.

So... yeah. People asked for this meta.

Pretty much. I also find it odd to see so many claims of 'if you've got 3 gens done by the first hook then it's game over for the killer' argument cause in my experience the amount of matches that skew towards the killer when there are two gens left is actually quite sizeable.

  • I'd say Haddonfield when it was first reworked, but they've started to change it up again now so not too bothered about it anymore. I still don't like how you can see all ends of the map just by standing the middle of the street though.

I can't complain about red forest. It's just so atmospheric and what I want all maps to be visually. It really feels like the early maps prettied up.

  • @FearlessHunter said:

Everyone complains about how wonky huntresses hatchet hitbox is but personally I think nurse is way more inconsistent. I've had times where she's either just out of arms reach or even a mile away after she blinks and yet somehow still manages to hit me.

And no, it's nothing to do with ping. I have under 40 ms and to see if it was anything to do with ping I tested it out with a friend who also had extremely good internet connection. Half the hits looked fine but the other half looked like she was swatting away a fly and somehow hitting me.

    Anyone else feel the same?

It's not just nurse, it's most short weapon killers. Ghost face and Legion always seem to make hits that are nowhere near. I think the hit boxes accommodate for long range weapon killers like Knight and Oni regardless of who you play as.

  • Stand still and let killers hook them? I refuse to believe this is even a real thread.

    *Survivors do gens*

Killers: gens are popping, survivors need to stop gen rushing (even though 95% of matches that's not a thing and killers over commit to people better than them).

    *Survivors don't do gens*

Killers: omg, these totems are too much, the survivors just endlessly heal each other, they shouldn't want to be chased cause I'm the power role, I should be able to down them quicker.

All real complains I've seen on this forum.

  • They've brought some good stuff over from the mobile version: theyll probably come later than sooner.

  • "Survivors can play as selfishly or as altruistically as they like'

    - BHVR.

    ...

I'll accept it being removed when we accept killers being able to slug everyone and leave them down needs to go too.

  • @_Demidrol said:

Repeatedly SWF use tactics where one disconnects and the last one escapes into the hatch. Is it fair? I understand if you forcing yourself die on hook, but just disconnecting is not sporting. Therefore, the idea: the hatch does not appear if one of the last two disconnects. What do you think?

Repeatedly killer slugs people and goes after the last survivor so no one gets hatch. Is it fair?

It's not sporting for you, but it is for the final survivor. I very rarely see anyone DC on the hook so the last survivor gets hatch: only when they're left to bleed out. If you don't want that to happen, don't slug and run. Comit to hooking. Then last survivor already has so much stacked against them: they shouldn't suffer for their team mate's decision. If you got a 3k you already won.

It has been reviewed and the thing people want, basekit unbreakable, was even tested. The devs didn't seem to see the results they were looking for. The goal has never been to make it impossible just mitigate its overall strength which they have via perks and considering the overall scale of the game doesn't seem to be a truly widespread issue

They've said they're not finished trying to address it yet, fortunately.

  • I think Freddy given his innate ability to already control a realm of his own.

  • Slugging should be reviewed in general imo. It'll be an unpopular opinion amongst killers I know, but the exact ones who moan about 'free escapes' and 'unfair second chance perks' are often the ones who play like this, which is wholly ironic.

  • I think it's funny.

Guarantee the amount of tunneling plays a part in it. It's pretty much a 50/50 these days as to whether or not the first person down will be ruthlessly tunneled out. Most average players can't deal with that.

I agree. Camping and tunneling had seen a massive increase since the update whether killers want to admit it or not. First it was because of dead hard, then it was because of Eruption nerf, now its because regression has been 'gutted' basically there will always be an excuse to mask the real reason; it's easy. But just like the increase in camping and tunnelling had a direct correlation to the increased use of DH, there is a correlation here also, whether killers want to be introspective about it or not. Its undeniable. One side's behaviour impacts the other.

  • @playhard said:

lol why so many survivor attempt to rescue from hooks and force exit the game.

2/ why do trap radii give the exhausted status effect? When she can cover virtually the entire map in them with minimal areas not covered between them, it seems very unbalanced to render all exhaustion perks null and void.

    That's an add-on, not basekit.

With all due respect. It shouldn't be.

She already gets the oblivious (or blindness - I mix the two up) effect as base kit and exposed if you stay in the radius too long, which is almost a guarantee when running through the inevitable multiple lined up drones, giving her a one hit down . The drone radius is powerful enough as it is. It didn't need add ons. Add ons should be reworked to allow her to use more drones (with the base number she can use decreased, increase the amount of time you can wait before deactivating the drone, the amount of time it takes to lose the tag etc). At the moment she is just far too oppressive.

  • @LiveBritishReaction said:

People still think this killer is even remotely capable of 3 gen strats?

People still think its not entirely her raison d'etre? Especially now the maps consistently spawn 2 gens within sight of each other?

  • There are four things that bug me about her and I don't get how they went live:

1/Why does she get seemingly infinite drones? Far more than any other trap based killer. Trapper and Hag don't get this many so what makes her special?

2/ why do trap radii give the exhausted status effect? When she can cover virtually the entire map in them with minimal areas not covered between them, it seems very unbalanced to render all exhaustion perks null and void.

3/ why is there no cooldown on using drones in the same area? Whilst the survivor is tagged with the drone they have deactivated the SM shouldn't be allowed to put one back up in that area unless the survivor has been downed. Whats the point in even deactivating when she can immadiately put one up in th3 exact same area? Also, Given you cannot deactivate the drone for a set amount of time it makes doing gens, especially in the late game, a massive annoyance. Especially given the ability to reset them goes back into cooldown when she walks through the radius.

    4. Why can the 'search light' section of the drone see you through obstacles when the beam visibly gets blocked. SM mains are very quickly learning areas of maps where you cannot get to the drones before the beam gets you. Regardless of whether you are in the radius of effectiveness or not the beam should not be able to see you if it's line of sight is obscured.

If they fix some of these things then she would be much more bearable.

  • Medkit nerfs are fine

For me CoH should have been changed to:

-One self heal per ignition to bring it in line with the type of nerfs seen for med kits

    - only one CoH can be in play at any time. There have been times when 2 thirds of the map have been covered by 3 CoH boons and that's far too unfair.

-Cooldown for reignited the boon once snuffed

  • @ButterFlee13 said:

"Survivors can play as altruistically or as selfishly as they like" -BHVR.

  • The funny thing is the perfect anticamp mechanic already exists in the game in the form of the Cages of Atomement which could be tweaked and repurposed.

  • I think they went OTT with the Haddonfield rework. The old one definitely had more atmosphere to it and like others have said the street is now way too wide .

Also, I can't believe they still haven't addressed the persistent two gen of there ALWAYS being a gen outside the myers house and one ALWAYS in the living room. It's too easy to hold even with some killers going across the map and coming back. I'd appreciate some more upstairs gens too. Most houses with upstairs are just wasted space.

  • Blight. He has for too much going on. Nightfall is abhorrent.

It’s a known bug that has been around for awhile now. For those that don’t know if you miss a skill check it decreases the gen to nearly 10% even if you had it at 98% which is around when the merciless storm perk kicks in. Essentially you have to do the gen twice from the bottom up. I’ve also heard you don’t even need to miss the skill check and that it will just count as a miss regardless but I’m not comfortable saying it’s never been my fault ever.

Anyone know why or when this will be fixed?

Saw MS twice yesterday and this didn't happen. Dropped to the expected 80ish percent.

  • A more severe rework of her blinking would be ideal: it doesn't feel like anything has changed about this and it's her most oppressive element. She now has more blinks than before too which seems like they haven't listened to peoples issues with her. She is supposed to need to return to her original position, but I'm seeing a lot of Nurses that can blink 4 times and continue to follow you around a map blinking without going back. Something feels off.

I don't care that her attacks counted as special attacks. This is the thing that they actually did nerf and to me it was completely incredulous to do so as no one, from what I've seen, really had an issue with this. Revert her so her attacks go back to how they were pre-nerf so they're not all basic attacks and address her mobility. It's the only way, really. Every other killer who has some sort of teleport/speed element is way better balanced. Including Blight.

  • I said this in another thread but the nerfs to Nurse from a survivor perspective feel non existent. She's still as miserable to go against as she was before. If I hasn't been told she had been nerfed I wouldn't have even known. There definitely seems to be something off too based on what Mandy has said above cause I've seen plenty of Nurses blinking 4 times in chase and they haven't returned to their original position. I had one hound me all over dead dog the other day blinking all the while starting from the bar, over and through the shacks to the right and ending up by the pallet by the two mindmill things with the palate in between. Maybe she was hacking, I dunno.

  • I don't mind blight, you can have some really fun edge of your seat matches with him.

But Nurse continues to be horrendously unfun to go against. The recent nerf, from a survior perspective, made absolutely no difference to her in terms of making her less miserable go against. If I hadn't read up on what the nerfs were I wouldn't even have known any happened it was so poorly handled.
