    Don't get me wrong,

but if the developers want to change the meta further, they need to adapt this perk.

It's time for this perk to get a cooldown.

    Change my mind

fine… if it’s time to change Corrupt Intervention and give that a cool down too. I see it way more than WOO.

  • I posted earlier about the Hatch now working differently to normal- it closes when you jump in and the doors power. It does make me think there’s something going on in the background. An update like this shouldn’t cause such a bug which has a basis in an old mechanic. To me it has to be further experimentation that’s crept in.

  • I’ve got major concerns over the anti face camps and anti regression features - I don’t think they actually work as well as they should (I’ve never actually seen the anti regression feature work despite a few matches where it definitely should have). I think it’s all to make it look like somethings being done.

And the answer to "why" is so simple, because it's literally free and so easy to pull off

If giving up is far easier than actually playing the game, of course people will give up, just make it difficult is ACTUALLY enough to stop everyone from acting like that, exactly like DC penalty

if you want to tell yourself that then fine, but that attitude is a massive part of the issue. I get this forum is massively killer sided, but you can’t just fix one side. Killers have been eating so well for the past 12 months and unfortunately the survivor side is suffering for it.

As a survivor main I see WAY more people eat the DC timer than do this since the bots came in anyway.

  • I want a dance animation so we can all party in the exit gate are - killer too.

That was one aspect of F13 I preferred over DBD lol

We definitely see the frustration it causes and have shared it with the team, and we agree that it doesn't feel great to have teammates abandon you. I'm afraid I don't have anything more concrete to reveal at the moment, but I'd like to be open about it regardless.

It's a tricky problem to tackle since even if the option was removed, there are other ways to quickly get out of the match, such as running to the Killer after being unhooked. Ultimately if someone refuses to play the rest of the match, we can't force them (in a literal sense, they could walk away from their system and still leave the team one player down).

That's not to say that it can't help, of course - making it more inconvenient can be the nudge some people need to finish out the match - though it wouldn't get rid of it entirely.

Hopefully this sheds a little light on it, and please by all means keep the suggestions coming!

surely the point of having bots implemented was to allow a continued member of the team if someone chooses to self sacrifice.

Really, I’d rather The Team examine ‘why’ so many survivors are choosing to end matches so early and not just go down a ‘right let’s stop you doing that’ approach.

Maybe swf could been shown if lobby dodging gives penalty then as well like in tcm. But at least in endgame screen they could been shown.

I don’t play killer, but imo there’s nothing wrong with Lobby dodging. If you don’t want to play a match you don’t have to and I’d rather have it done at the match making stage than to go through the rigmarole of loading in only to have a DC a few mins in.

I’d rather take it one step further and be able to see what killer you’re going against too.

  • This is why we can’t have nice things.

Any time the devs don't do exactly what people want, they get a bunch of feedback that consists of sulking and bitterness, inarticulately screamed at them by a bunch of kids. It genuinely must suck to have to wade through so much garbage trying to find feedback that is actually useful.

it would help if they did things that were actually in tune with what their player base asks for and not the direct opposite. DBD is quite a rare beast in that the feedback from survivors is quite consistent as is it from killers. Unsafe loops have been complained about for some time now, so for BHVR to double down on them is absurd.

    1. Plague - can't stand the vomiting and there is no downside to her power (cleanse and she gets a one hit down -don't cleanse and she gets a one hit down).

    2. Huntress. Used to really like going against huntress killers. They seemed fair and down for a good time. Now they're always sweaty and proxy campers. It's draining.

    3. Legion - get hit, heal for an eternity. Repeat. Get nothing done for 30 minutes. Boring.

    Honourable mentions:

Wraith - tunnelers, proxy campers and body blockers

    Dredge - can't stand nightfall. It's obnoxious.

  • I think a lack of willingness to address the over reliance on Lethal Pursuer also has a hand in this. It’s one of the most common perks I see used by killers and having someone going down with the first 20 seconds of the match is really disheartening. I don’t DC like but I see a lot of others do it.

  • I can’t really take the people saying she’s not a good fit seriously. TR has always had horror elements too it and that was ramped up in 2013 which is the game her appearance is based on.

She’s also been toted as ‘survivor Lara’ through that trilogy. So yeah to me she fits a lot better than the likes of Nicholas Cage, Singularity , skill merchant, Jonah, Renato etc.

  • He is worse than blight. He has all the mobility and a one hit down too.

Honestly, for me him having no cooldown on his ability is far too OP and it’s resulted in so many miserable matches.

I used to love Billy because he was fun to play against. Lots of billy killers were just there to have a good time and I think the majority of the survivors vibed with that but now every Billy is an easy slug for the 4K sweat box and it’s really going against him.

What is there to do to demonstrate that you don’t enjoy playing against him.? Nothing really so voting with your feet really is the only option. That’s why the Trickster was so poorly chosen - not because he was weak but because everyone used to just give up or DC against him and killers got bored of it and chose others. Sadly, BHVR took this as him needing a buff which just further made him unbearable.

  • Honesty, with how hooks spawn at the moment perks like saboteur, flip flop, buckle up and boil over are completely useless. Adding a hook back in just adds to this - especially if it's a hook a killer has over used for its location or because it's a scourge hook. I think hooks needed a way bigger review but this isn't it.

  • Hooks are so close together now Saboing and perks like boil over are pointless. This doesn't fix the issue with that.

  • Because killers dodging the match before it starts doesn't give the killer a direct in match benefit and handicap 3 survivors.

  • So Distortion is the next perk on the list to be complained about until it gets a change? Distortion does the job its designed for and I refuse to believe killers are consistently going against 4 man SWFs running it (because they don't need to). Not every perk needs to be changed.

If we are talking about annoying perks let's bring Lethal Persuer and Corrupt Intervention into the mix. Inarguably two of the most annoying perks and some of the highest chosen by killers. Yet they won't get majorly changed, despite qualifying under the 'it's too popular so overpowered' rhetoric because they do the job theyre made to do and changing them would fundamentally change what they are.

  • I love a good bit of satire/parody.... Which this surely is.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

Did this mean Legion will finally have a power?

Legion already has a power: they make matches the most boring, repetitive and insufferable ones you have to endure.

  • In addition to what's been mentioned, is like to point out They're in the process of making maps the size of match boxes. Looking at you New-New Haddonfield. Honestly if this is the direction they're going gen speeds are going to become very oppressive.

There is nothing in the game right now that gives survivors equal value to complete gens as there is for killers to slow the process down in my humble opinion.

  • I couldn't imagine anything worse.

I will occasionally message people to say thanks or GG, but most messages I receive are abusive or mocking. End game chat would be abused by the worst of the worst. Let's be honest.

  • @Unimatrix00 said:

    BHVR,

Seriously, you need to do something about survivors being able to take the game hostage by just hiding. It's too easy to avoid the killer, hide in lockers, switch lockers when the killer is checking one, or crouching around the map, moving to another part when they hear the terror radius. Something needs to be done so that killers aren't left wandering the map for 20 minutes trying to find the survivors. Why you haven't fixed this by now is beyond me, but now is the time.

When they address slugging for the 4k this will die out. Let's examine both sides of the coin.

  • @Blueberry said:

Is this saying survivors underestimate how much time hold w wastes or? I'm not sure the point.

No the undertone is clearly asking for a nerf to exhaustion perks because they do the job theyre made to do... Some of the time.

I've long since unequipped lithe because it makes no difference most of the time. The mentality of 'I'm not getting my down quick enough' is not one devs should listen to imo.

  • It hits way more when it feels like it shouldn't in my experience.

Billy an OP is not something that should be said in a single sentence.

I agree, but here we are.

  • Fantastic proof (not that it was needed) that all the perks et. al. Are not the cause of camping and tunnelling because low and behold out of two matches I've played they were full of it.

  • I find it funny killers complain when survivors get perks that double down on things, but it's ok for their side. Why would anyone play Weaker, Blight or Bubba anymore when Billy now combines all of their attributes together into a rediculously overpowered killer?

  • The VAST majority of matches is one of three variants lately:

-Tunnel off the hook at 5 gens often using lethal pursuer.

-just rotate between hooks downing people and hooking them again because due to smaller map sizes/hook placement the killer can down and hook someone before you can unhook and heal them. Often using sloppy.

-camp one side of the map again using sloppy because gens constantly spawn so close to each other you can defend them from the off.

  • @lukeneves said:

Insert a reveal mechanic from survivors that makes them hold a key or button. This will make revealing optional when you are looking at the killer and he is unaware of you. Sometimes you unintentionally start revealing GF immediately revealing your position instead - that doesn't make sense.

Was literally thinking this today. It seems such a stupid option to have no control over. Especially when you're... Just looking at him. I had a situation today where he basement hooked someone so I waited outside for him to come out so I could unhook when he had walked off. Except I couldn't do that because the moment the camera looked at him I started to reveal him, he knew where I was and instantly came for me.

Either that or he doesn't get notified until you fully reveal him.

  • The only further change I feel SQ needs is some sort of option to know if someone is going for the save. Whethet that's a form of basekit kindred that shows the closest survivor within 'x' metres of the hook or an emote like in the mobile version.

  • The last thing this game need right now is more playstyles that are boring and oppressive.

  • I find Bite the Bullet and self care good for losing the killer when injured but not as a a full heal solution.

  • It's being used more because every map now has multiple instances of two generators being a stones throw from each other and literally within sight of each other. If they change that I guarantee you'll see less DV.

  • @Peanits said:

Way back when the game released, the game was much darker, and there were offerings which would make it even darker. Part of the reason the red stain was there was to help you see the Killer at all. The art style has completely changed since then so that's no longer the case, but you can check some footage from 2016 to get a feel for it.

Beyond that, having the red stain on your back was a subtle way to warn a new player that they're at risk of being hit. It can make for a tense moment as they're running to a pallet or window knowing that they're in danger and just barely make it in time. Again, this isn't so much the case anymore since there's loads of powers with unique attacks where the red stain doesn't necessary come into play, and because a lot of people look behind them in a chase.

These days, it's mostly around because it enables mindgames for both sides. You can always turn around to hide your stain, so if you get creative with it, you can use it to your advantage. You can approach a corner backwards to hide it until the last moment, giving the Survivor less time to react (especially on smaller loops). Or you can intentionally let them see it, then turn around to make it seem like you changed directions. This can cause them to run back towards you, leading to a quick and easy hit.

The short version: Removing it would also remove the potential to use it to your advantage, and that's not really something we'd like to do. If your goal is to sneak up on people, I'd recommend one of the stealthy Killers. Any time you're Undetectable, your red stain will be hidden.

Can we go back to the old art style please? I do miss it.

  • Well, blame BHVR for screwing up the maps so much there's always multiple instances of at least two gens within sight of each other now.

  • The game is definitely in a very stale place for survivors right now. Killer mains love to talk about survivors using the same meta perks yet you can guarantee the vast majority of matches you go into will have Corrupt, Sloppy (which wasn't seen much before the healing nerf and has clearly been done to make that even more miserable), plaything and a regression perk. Add to that tunnelling is now rife, camping is now rife (again despite measures to discourage it) and slugging is the go to method if three gens get done too quickly. Slugging imo is personally the thing they need to handle the most. I can cope with being tunnelled as at least you're out the game quickly.

Not to mention the amount of busted changes to some killers such as Sadako and Skull merchant or just generally busted mechanics for killers like Alien, Blight and Nurse. Or that the maps have been changed so there are multiple instances in each match of two gens being virtually right next to each other (I had a match on Hawkins where there were two gens on one walkway). By that I don't just mean two gens being near each other but multiple sets of it happening per match.

The sheer amount of things going on at the moment just make it very oppressive and very unfun. I'm sure killers will have their own list of things though.

  • I personally dislike Toba Landing more. All the maps seem to have some trash layouts ATM but at least Nostromo has a horror vibe to it.

  • If it means the map gets more variety so the gens don't spawn in near enough the exact same places then fine.

Also, can it be made night time again?

  • Sole Survivor. I got accused of letting everyone die and being selfish cause I wanted to escape... Even though unhooked everyone (some more than once) and also had We'll Make It /Bite the Bullet equipped to make healing easier and make it harder for killers to find them straight off the hook.

  • This is honestly my biggest gripe with the game at the moment. I hate it when killers run round the map slugging multiple survivors or slug the 3rd so they can freely go after the 4th for a 4k. To me it takes that player out of the game and holds them hostage as they potentially cannot do anything and just have to sit around waiting to be hooked. A 4k should be the result of a phenomenal play on the killers behalf and this just makes it too easy. Imo BHVR need to look into something to counter this when there are only two players left in the match.

And yet I constantly saw TVs active. I'd point them to my teammates, and they'd completely ignore them and let their stacks fill to max.

People don't want to risk being downed with one and giving everyone else a ton of condemned stacks. There is also the issue of trying to find a TV to get rid of your tape with which can also be problematic. I'm not denying players dont touch tapes. But there is also a very valid other side to the story.

  • @ChaosWam said:

Going against slug condemned Sadako recently, I'm shocked that nobody still touches tapes. At all.

I did 2 gens by myself and never went past 5 stacks because, playing Sadako myself, I know how to best manage the tapes to avoid that. Yet survivors refuse to touch their tapes, never split up, and ONLY touch tapes when they're max condemned and Sadako is beelining for them.

I fear for whatever change is coming this month.

When she is spamming the teleport there aren't enough tapes for everyone to keep the condemned down. Its honestly that simple.

It's not that I like it, it's that its horror atmosphere is pretty obvious. It's meant to look like TCM, which is pretty much the pinnacle of horror atmosphere. I'm not even saying anyone has to like it or prefer it to the old one, but the specific complaint that it lacks in horror atmosphere is just off the mark.

A separate game mode would be fine too, of course, I'm mostly only objecting to the idea of adding variants to the map pool. Though, when it comes to custom games, I'm also of the opinion that this game would benefit from a proper custom-game directory like Overwatch has, with some robust tools for curating the experience.

After all, the separate game mode would be dependant on people actually queuing in it, which might take long enough that it spurs people not to bother. The custom game directory entry would have at least a chance of filling quicker, in my opinion.

With all due respect, even the TCM game has night time variations of the maps and still deliver of the feel of trying to tie in with the movie.

Whilst the maps are now evocative of TCM and Billy clearly being 'their' Leatherface at the time, it was inititially included as a night time map so I don't think this reasoning is entirely credible. Yes they could keep a daytime variant to tie in more with the official Leatherface and TCM vibe, but I still would prefer nighttime variants of this and Ormond to exist. It's even more annoying that there's a nighttime variant in the Chucky announcement and not one in game.

Ultimately, the game is called Dead by Daylight. It makes it a bit antithetical to the entire premise to have daytime maps..

Personally if like to see all maps start off as night time maps and gradually get lighter as matches go on to reach an end point , but they'd have to put a timer on trials for that which theyd never do.

  • I find there's a lot of seemingly unfair plays with vaults and stuns at the moment. Window vaults still getting a hit I can cope with, but getting hit when I'm on the far side of a pallet vault or through a pallet stun is absolute BS.

  • Another week another one of these threads and another chance for me to mention how awful a choice it would be. You don't resolve slugging by making it easier to do.

  • They didn't change him to be less miserable for survivor players. They changed him to be less miserable for killer players because he's not chosen often.

Except in their rationale which has led to their execution, they seem to have completely bypassed a major reason behind killers not choosing him is because there was a massive spate of survivors just giving up or DCing when they got him. So it got to the point where one chose him. That former is still the case from matches I've played against him. I expect the latter to be so too.

  • ... Because we want to try and get as many of us out as possible. Normally I don't mind taking the risk as long as it's well coordinated but it's trying to find out who is going to do what with no Comms etc.

I understand it less when someone just stands in the exit gates and doesn't leave when I'm on death hook. What are you expecting me to do? Just go.

  • @Xernoton said:

    I agree with @Firellius.

DBD is not a RE entry. If I wanted more RE content, then I'd play RE.

It's kinda ironic that Capcom have flogged the online co op games for years now to no success but DBD has been quite successful in it's RE content. Bet they're kicking themselves.

  • @Krazzik said:

As I've said in other threads, I do think it's needs to be a little slower to regain stacks. As it currently stands you almost never actually run out of stacks, even against a killer using multiple aura reading perks/addons.

It defeats the point in even having stacks when it's basically just a permanent buff in nearly every game.

You can argue the same of stealth killers who nullify all survivor aura reading perks though. Ultimately, it's a gamble to be worthwhile. You have to waste a perk slot and take a chance that the killer is using one or more aura reading perks to get the use out of it. To nerf it would be antithetical to what it actually exists for imo. Just as it would be to nerf killer aura reading perks. It's not like every playerz every game is running it. In fact, I hardly ever see it player load outs.

  • I really don't understand how people feel this way. The thing that let her hold a three gen before was that you got the exposed status effect when you were in the radius of the scan for too long. That's not a thing anymore. Can she still put too many drones out too close together? Yes, but I feel she's definitely not the 3 gen god she was before.
