Why would a perk designed for a killer that has a INSTA DOWN power only work on basic attacks?

    Franklin's demise says hello.

A good pig is a terror fueled nightmare.

That being said, first pig I encountered I kept on one gen for the entire match cause I would repair the gen and then walk away and she was like "wth?" And mind gamed her long enough for everyone to escape. I got hatch that game.

Last pig I had, however, was a living nightmare. Match lasted maybe 3minutes in total.

Probably me lol. I destroy with her lmao

Please stop complaining about cheaters. So many are chalking up lag and not knowing perks to cheating. I've played almost 300 hours on pc both killer and surv and I've seen like 1 or 2 hackers maybe. Complaining about cheaters is not an excuse for those complaining about crossplay. Its just silly.

I went against one. All gens popped and everyone was instantly killed by egc. That definitely isnt lag lmao.

  • I turned crossplay off bc it made me lag too much to move, but I've encountered one cheater. Basically once the last gen was popped, everyone died instantly. I'm on ps4 btw.

I've never in all my life have had such disappointing games against both sides killer/surv. Im saying its way too easy to win now, rank 1 survivors/killers on anything other than pc are actual babies and weren't/aren't for the big leagues and probably never will be.

Dont say everyone. I'm rank 1 on both sides and am a nurse main on ps4. Dont stereotype, people on pc can be even worse.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I've said this BEFORE and I'll say it again. SWF is a HUGE problem because it causes ripples throughout the game. It is EASILY addressed. There should be the following types of matches:

    1. Solo where you don't come in with a group and you can't see the real ID info of the other Survivors until the end of the match. Thus, no communication OUTSIDE the game itself. There are Perks for that (like Kindred), and gesture animations.
    2. Custom games where you CAN go in and play with your friends and a willing Killer. Everyone is on the same page and understands it is SWF.
    3. SWF League Play, where groups can go earn blood points together as a REGISTERED TEAM, and the Killers know what they are facing and the DEV can do appropriate Buffs or situation alterations to balance the extreme advantage SWF provides.

That's it. It solves the problem. Two out of three of these allow you to play with your friends. It prevents Solo players from being at a disadvantage for Rank as they aren't competing against Teams (they get their own grouping), and Killers don't have to face broken OUT OF GAME knowledge and coordination unless they want to do it and where it has been balanced for them. In addition, Leagues, i.e. teams would add a great new dimension to this game.

It's a good idea, don't get me wrong, but with queue times, this would never work. With 2 modes, it takes 30 minutes. Imagine how bad they would be if this happened.

Why is spirit stridor allowed? Why is hillbilly pop allowed? Why is skill check doc allowed? Why are freddys slowdown add-ons allowed? They are in the game. That's why. Killers have ######### just as broken. Don't play if you are going to complain. Git gud.

  • @BlueFang said:

Freddy and Demogorgon share quite a bit of similarity they both feature a teleportation ability, have multiple facets to their power, and very strong synergy with certain perks. Yet despite their similarities, Freddy is regarded as a top tier Meta killer while Demo is seen as low tier at best and bottom tier at worst. Many players chalk that up to Demo just having bad design and weak add-ons but I believe it is this dramatic deviation that reveals the current problem with DBD’s balancing

Why do players dislike Demogorgon? No matter what the individual complaints it will always boil down to his portal system and the root problems coming out of it. The demo is all about the set-up having portals set up at key points in a map, maintaining pressure and mobility. Despite how much of a time-saver they should be and can be keeping them set up wastes a lot of valuable time. You have to place two portals, go through one to activate the chain and all of this involves extensive backtracking. In a meta that revolves around micro-managing every second and capitalizing on any pressure, you can make this invested time could mean the difference between a win or a loss. So if the investments fail to garner any substantial success, It can be very frustrating.

Now after all this criticism you might be wondering why I said he wasn't bad earlier. You see it is because the Demo IS a strong killer his Shred has a huge skill-ceiling both in mind gaming and mechanical skill and knowhow. His portal system is also a strong system that when built up grants him a huge mobility advantage. Because you see the fault lies not with Demo but the current gameplay sandbox and meta for both sides. Demo's kit is balanced around a sandbox where the game goes slower where there are breaks in the pacing for both sides to gather, refocus, and assess the current situation. But in this current sandbox, the killer player is always forced to be on the move, not waste any unnecessary time and capitalize on any pressure available a Demo spending time on setting up his portal network could watch several generators pop into life before he's even finished and when he leaves he's very likely to hear one or more of his active portals disappear before he's finished his current chase. In a slower-paced sandbox, a portal would serve as intended as both valuable mobility and a stalling option, a way of locating survivors, and not feel like a chore to set up. And it is despite all of his compatibility issues with this sandbox that I see Demo in a different light

But now let's take a look at Demo's cousin if you will, Freddy

Freddy is the Swiss Army Knife of killers, combining the strengths of multiple killer archetypes yet having none of their weaknesses. He's partially a trap killer but unlike Trapper and Hag he gets all his traps immediately, doesn't have to enter animation to deploy them, he's also a chase killer in the lieu of Clown but he doesn't slow down when using his power and doesn't have to reload his Snares are completely and utterly disposable and can be stacked on top of each other, yet he also possesses high mobility with his generator teleport that gets stronger as the game gets into the later stages. The only caveat is that there is a signal that shows when you are teleporting but when factoring in gen tech teleport its more often than not, a benefit. Did I also mention he can completely counter Borrowed Time, has additional funkiness in regards to sleep and awake states, a funky TR, the second smallest killer in the game, survivors face drawbacks for waking up too much, and a whole bunch more?

The survivors can rip Demo's portals up all day long but every time they wake up against Freddy it gets harder and harder to wake up requires them to reveal their presence and can regress generators/healing by default. And it is partially a reason why the sandbox has gotten so out of hand. BHVR has been at work changing the totem systems, introducing and reworking new maps that often have a feature of being partially killer-sided, pallet quantity nerfs, perk nerfs, item and addon nerfs. Despite how necessary and beneficial many of these changes have been when you add all this together with killers such as Freddy, Oni, Spirit, it has done nothing but force survivors to end the game quicker

Back in the day when survivors had access to strong and forgiving perks, add-ons, and pallets they could afford to waste time. 1 or 2 survivors could hard-carry their team with their looping skills but now things are quite different. There's very little room for error now on both sides if the killer gets a snowball together survivor teams can quickly fall apart as the chasers can no longer buy those extra few seconds and the weaker links no longer have that extra forgiveness. Likewise, if the survivors get that early gen pressure going, spread out, and keep the killer off-balance its incredibly difficult for him to recover and gain pressure over the game when the generators are popping left and right. They no longer have that extra forgiveness from survivors healing, looting, or being interested in a chase. Both sides are now in a complete TIME-CRUNCH Meta where one can rarely waste time anymore. Because of this balanced and set-up killers such as Demogorgon suffer because they are in a sandbox which is anything but briskly paced and balanced.

My Conclusion: Its no longer just a Killer or Survivor balancing issue only it's now a fundamental flaw equally shared between both sides. Killer designs such as Freddy are a large part of the problem because survivors can no longer risk assuming the killer they are facing isn't going to be playing the meta, and killers can't assume survivors aren't either. For every Demo that gets wrecked by a meta time-crunch squad, there's a sweaty time-crunch Mori Oni wrecking a survivor squad at the same time. There is no easy answer to the problem at hand, unfortunately (from my current perspective at least)

Increasing the generator times and pace of the game would result in killers such as Freddy running rampant and utterly breaking the game for survivors, yet under this current system killers such as Demo are being more and more forced out by the current time restrictions. What's worse is this flaw is starting to crack the foundation of the game, the game has always been about the chase but now it's becoming about time-crunch. Survivors and killers no longer have the time to enjoy the chase, because they have to go right back into it immediately. There are no pauses, no lasting victory there's none of it until either the killer or survivors win. DBD must strike a balance between game pace, killer and survivor balancing, oppressive killer kits, pallet and loop strength, as well as the current shifts we've seen in kits on both sides

Because while this sandbox won't kill the game by any means. The longer this sandbox continues the greater the divide and toxicity within the killer and survivor population will become. As well as the chance of the current sand-box and its design decisions becoming semi-permanent

TLDR: Freddy is an over-tweaked beefy killer who along with Oni and Spirit are part of the reason the Time-Crunch meta has become so overwhelming for both sides. While Demo is an example of a good killer that rarely gets to shine due to a severe lack of time available in a match for setting up along with other facets. The Time-Crunch meta must be addressed from the perspective of both Killer and Survivor

I agree with all of this except saying oni is a meta killer. Although he has a strong power, he has a weak early game and needs to charge up his power to use it. He is the definition of balanced.

I agree with everything you said except that "nurse has no counterplay". Like iron will + urban, lockers, q&q, deadhard, buildings, indoor maps isnt a thing. I will say that I think most people dont know how to play against her is because they've rarely ever played against a good nurse and they expect the nurse they see to be bad.

I forgot dh existed, actually. I run stridor a lot. I've never actually had someone sneak by me. Lockers aren't reliable unless the nurse is stupid. And I got my adept on midwich. Good nurses have one counterplay, and it's dead hard. A one time use perk. Her counterplay isn't even good considering how bad dead hard is at avoiding hits. The rest are dependant on the nurse being bad. At least you didn't say run at her when shes blinking lmao

as I said I'm a nurse main. Ez 4k. Or go against a good nurse as survivor. Gg we lost. I have never seen any counterplay to her. Dh just makes it take around 5 more seconds to down you. But that's fine. Learning her means having to deal with bully survivors, and depip every match.

The ONLY way I see BT used is to facilitate unsafe unhooks. That needs to end.

BT should be distance and time based. If a Killer is within 20 meters for over 15 seconds without there being a Survivor within that distance, only then can BT activate.

It still punishes campers, but it will not facilitate unsafe unhooks.

    This.

    Of course!

To begin, Nurse technically has zero counters (except rushing gens to end the game as fast as possible, and a good Nurse can snowball easily and stop that). There are no perks that actually counter Nurse, unlike Spine Chill and Iron Will to counter Spirit. Dead Hard really isn't even a counter to Nurse, because it only buys you a little bit more time, or none at all (Nurse can wait after a blink and lunge-attack further than Dead Hard's range).

So, while Nurse can go through pallets, windows AND floors (Saloon, The Game, Hawkins), Spirit already loses in that aspect. She still has to mind windows, pallets, and can't teleport though floors or obstacles. Spirit is also hard-countered by Iron Will, since she mostly relies on hearing to catch Survivors with her power, and Spine Chill also lets you know if Spirit is heading in your direction while she's phasing. And yes, Stridor works well with Spirit, but it still is hard to play against Iron Wills with Stridor.

Also, Nurse's power only takes 3 seconds per blink to recharge (1.5 seconds with double recharge addons!), while Spirit's power takes a whopping 15 seconds to recharge (and if I calculated correctly, it can only be lowered to 10.7 seconds with double recharge addons). Also, Spirit's power can only be used once the meter is full, while Nurse doesn't have to have both blinks ready to use her power.

And finally, map pressure. Nurse is a 3.85 speed Killer, but can take range + recharge speed addons to help her traverse maps more efficiently (I myself don't use range addons but I can see how they would help), while Spirit is a 4.4 speed Killer with a power that can help her traverse the map, but takes forever to recharge... unlike Nurse's blinks. Not to mention that Spirit's power gives audio cues throughout her phasing, letting you know how close she is to you. Nurse does give audio cues when she blinks, but it doesn't matter too much when she just blinks on top of your location. Plus, Nurse always has vision when using her power, and Spirit does not.

The reason that people say Nurse is not as powerful as Spirit is because most Nurse players are bad. The times that I've played against good Nurses have been brutal, and they wipe my entire team in minutes. I played against a red rank Nurse on Fractured Cowshed who decimated my team with ease, using a recharge addon and range addon, and all of the tricks that people claim to work had no effect. Run towards her? She'd just cut the blink short and hit you anyway. Make distance? She'd use one blink for positioning and then the second blink to land on top of you. There was no counterplay possible. I also played against a decent Nurse on the Chapel, and even though she wasn't great at Nurse, she was using double recharge addons and was able to catch you just by spam blinking.

As I said before, I'm a red rank Nurse main and I actually play Nurse just to have an easy game, because Survivors really can't do anything when you use Nurse's blinks properly. I used to pick Nurse against SWF teams just so I couldn't be bullied! I've also played quite a bit of Spirit in red rank, and, honestly, the only reason that Survivors die so easily to Spirit is because they're extremely predictable. They don't use structures and windows, they run out in the open for no reason, and they don't even try to mindgame when Spirit is using her power. I think that if more people would actually dedicate the time to learning how to play against a Spirit, they would have better games against her.

I would also like to mention that you can hear Spirit's footsteps while she's phasing, and they're loud as heck... 😛

Sorry for the wall of text, but I really did want to elaborate as to how Spirit has more counterplay!

This. I play nurse just bc I like going against her and assume other people do too. I usually feel guilty for playing her like I used to tho- infectious slugging and one hook everyone to death. Now I just use recharge and wooden horse.(for some reason my weapon loves trees lmao) but yeah, a good nurse has no counterplay, and that's ok. Shes the hardest killer to play and she absolutely SHOULD be the strongest. I say spirits the second strongest, but that isn't ok. She isnt hard to learn at all. I don't think thats very fair.

Exactly, she really isn't busted like people make her out to be... and at least she has COUNTERPLAY (unlike Nurse)... not to mention that Spine Chill and Iron Will are great counters to Spirit.

I think if more people played against good Nurses, there would be far more complaints against her than Spirit. I myself am a red rank Nurse main, and I know how helpless one feels when playing against a good Nurse.

This. Also I'm a nurse main as well.

What would you recommend to level up after bbq? and any tips on how to make leveling comfortable?

I got the the Shrine the following Perks already: Brutal Strength, Pop Goes the Weasel, Thrilling Tremors and Ruin.

    Thank you in advance

If you haven't, level up nurse. Nurses calling is amazing on any killer and then thanat on legion and stridor spirit. Then possibly billy and spirit for enduring and spirit fury.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

First would be Bubba for BBQ so you can earn BP faster. Franklin's is also really good now as a counter to keys.

Next do Clown for Pop Goes The Weasel. Bambo is also not bad.

Last I would say level up Plague. All her perks are good. You mainly want Corrupt and Infectious, both top tier, but Dark Devotion is good for certain builds or killers.

    After that go nuts.

What is dark devotion good on? Ive been experimenting with nurse.

Killer mains also try to troll survivor mains, you aren't all innocent. And while I'm talking about mains, I'm a killer main btw.

  • @ClaudetteQLF said:

I'm mostly asking killers main here, how do you deal with toxic survivors during a game ?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a main survivor (rank 1) and I really do prefer this role. However, I started playing as the killer lately because I always loved to see people playing the pig or the plague so I wanted to try it myself. I'm a rank 16 though, so basically, I'm a baby killer. I'm not tunneling or camping and I refuse to play with NOED as I really want to learn how to be better as a killer.

The thing is, most of the time I'm facing a red rank team with the flashlight/toolbox combo. I would understand if I was actually camping or tunneling someone but I don't. They t-bag me whenever I miss a hit, they "click-click" me with their flashlights so I can chase them because they know how to loop and I still don't know how to handle it (even though I'm a main survivor, I'm still pretty average).

I literally stopped playing as the killer because of that. It's really discouraging when people realize that the killer is a yellow rank so they can do whatever they want. I absolutely hate this behavior and when this happens to me (when I play as a survivor and I notice that the killer is a baby killer) I'm just trying to end the game as fast as I can because I actually feel bad for him.

My question is, how do you deal with toxic survivors ? How do you still wanna play the killer side when this happens the whole day?

I commit and when I down them, I walk right over their body and slug them to death. Toxocity is not a good way to play against a petty ######### like me.

  • @JesterClown said:

Here come all the survivors that will tell you to not tunnel and that swfs arent common and that map offering should be standard and then they will call you a bad killer cause you considered playing moris.

My advice is its going to be frustrating, but if you can draw out an early DS and eat it, its extremely favorable for you. If you really are confident its a DS, then slug them, but keep an eye out for their unbreakable by staying near them. If they are just blasting gens, its gunna suck and your just gunna have to let the person and their crutch perks go free, because situations such as these are just so heavily in a survivors favor. The best thing is to try to get them to waste those perks.

Just saying, swf isn't as common as you think. Not saying theres not a problem with it, but sweat builds are just as common in solos. Ive been called a swf abuser since we all had flashlights, maps, or boxes. I usually don't run into them, but thats probably just where I live.

  • @CornHub said:

In short I keep coming across a ds Unbreakable sfw, with at least one of them running soul guard. They'll usually bring the Ormond map offering or a badham map. I don't wanna lobby dodge bcuz I can't improve if don't play difficult matches, and they dodge if I bring a Mori or any secret offering. I play every killer except Billy and Hag if the solution is either if them.

Ive never had a problem with that, but I am a nurse main, so theres that. Id recommend only playing nurse, spirit or freddy.

Yeah because killers are more important. Survivors have it so incredibly easy in the game, and SWF makes it even more jokingly strong. Killers need so much work still.

They aren't. Although survivor is easier than killer, it should be that way. You have three teammates. You are only 25 percent of your team. The killer is 100 percent of theirs. Therefore, killer's mistakes are 75 percent more punishing than a survivors. I do agree swf is unfair, though. Although killer is hard, survivor isn't exactly a cakewalk. You rely on three other teammates who are unreliable at best. They make your game, not you. That being said, bad randoms make the game impossible to win. Killer is not more important than survivor, and survivor is not more important than killer. Saying otherwise is just entitled. No one is more important than ANYONE else.

    Whataboutism.

  • I hate it. I don't bring keys or toolboxes or medkits, I bring flashlights and maps. I dont get many in the bloodweb, and new franklins means I can't have any. Ive lost 50 flashlights, and 80 something maps. Its not fair. It still isn't good but it wastes my bps, which pisses me off.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

NOED is for bad killers. If you rely on NOED to get kills you don't deserve to be high ranked.

If you have to stack second chance perks on top of second chance perks (like the infamous Smol PP Build^tm) then you're not a good survivor. If you rely on those perks every game you don't deserve to be high ranked.

Both sides have their issues. DS by itself is fine, and unbreakable by itself is fine. They need anti-synergy together and suddenly there's no issue with either perk.

BT is counterable by chasing the unhooker. I'd prefer it to deactivate during endgame but oh well.

    Dead hard is counterable.

As a nurse main, I always use noed. Although its usually not ever going to activate as I'm a good nurse, I use it to handicap myself. Am I the only one who does this?

Lol it's hard to take this "league" seriously, it's kinda pathetic how people try to make DbD competitive.

Never have gotten a stack off a cage rescue, only from when they're hooked.

I get it from "safe cage rescue" maybe you just get it on ps4.

I play both sides of the game (mainly surv) and can indeed say that gen rushing is a real problem in the game.

The generators pop way to fast especially when there are 2,3,4 people on them at a time. If spawns are good enough 3 or 4 players can get on a gen and pop it before the killer can even get to the opposite side of the map (which will be where survs are likely to spawn).

Gen rushing is just the equivalent of tunneling and camping though so no one can complain about one if they do the other because they’re just as bad

This but survivors will usually spawn near you. Like one time, as nurse, someone spawned in my Los. They got downed in seconds.

Is that intended or a bug? I get no token for saving someone from PH cage while using WGLF.

It does for me. Idk why it doesnt for you.

When will people realise that Nurse BREAKS THE DAMNED GAME. She literally ignores everything survivors can do and has arguably the best traversal ability in the game. No shite she's hard AF to play, and if you are wondering why... Well, I guess you never played survivor before her nerf.

    This.
