I've been playing only console for 18 years. You think I care about being one of the "cool kids"?
Just gonna sit here playing my video game with a controller in my hands and a cold beer next to me.
My meme was meant to poke some fun at all the PC players swinging their enormous E-peen around lol.

Well the superiority has definitely reached the heights of being called a complex but they are not without a base reason.
Framerates are lower on console than on pc (this will maybe change/be gone with the next gen).
Also you can't always be precise and have optimal Trunspeeds with an analog stick in first person games. Atleast without hundreds to thousands of hours on max sensitivity to adapt muscle memory to obtain the same precision again while being able to 180 instantly.
I myself love to play platformers and 3rd person games (not shooters) with a controller on pc.
But an additional difference is the distance to the screen and the quality of sound without headphones.
I played salt and sanctuary and darks souls together with my best buddy on his console and since I couldn't wait I played both on pc and I have to say it is way easier for me to play with the screen close to me. Headphones don't really matter in this example but I think we all know the difference they make.
It will not be gone with next gen. The problem is not the console as every other game in existence runs better than dbd. The problem is the development of the game.

...I say to myself, expertly urban evading around a rock in the corner of the map, with the precision that only the talents of a pc gamer and a high-end mouse working in perfect harmony can offer. Surely it's not right that they should be playing alongside the likes of us?
I almost feel pity for them...
The killer has barely appeared on my shiny monitor, 50 metres away, but employing my cat-like reflexes to their fullest extent, I press the E key and dead hard into a tree.
Maybe, I play like a rank 15, maybe. Occasionally. But what would the console equivalent be? According to the steam forum calculations, a rank 20 survivor on pc is a rank 5 on console. So I should be a 1, if not higher, one could presume.
These reflexes come into play once more as the killer advances on me, hoping to deliver his final blow. I masterfully hit the exit game button, and I'm gone even before I hit the ground. Taking note of the globe icon next to the killer's name, I let out a shriek of laughter, my monocle falling from my face and plopping delicately into my glass of mountain dew.
Couldn't even hook me once!
As my tears of joy subside, I mark my victory by letting out a truly exquisite, juicy fart. The scent of last night's burrito rushes into my nostrils, accompanied by a subtle yet powerful hint of refried beans. I savour it, wondering if the intestines of a console scrub could produce such finery. I think perhaps not. I wish I'd bottled this one.
I literally laughed out loud sitting at my desk lol. Not enough people wear monocles anymore...good on you lol.
-
I agree that people complain just to complain. But to claim this game does not drop below 30fps on console is completely not true. some maps it never goes above 20 often dropping lower at times. But again, as killer you can adapt and still play. People like to make excuses.

After dozens of games since crossplay is active, i have not faced a console killer yet. Nobody on PS4, Xbox or Switch wants to play killer somehow or am i just very unlucky?
I played killer a good portion of the evening last night. I think what you'll find is console just does not have as many killers as PC. I don't think it's new to crossplay. Killer on console is just frustrating because bhvr can not figure out how to make a game run correctly on console and it affects the killer much more than survivors.
-
I'm not having an issue with it. I played all evening yesterday. The only difference I noticed was what you said in the fact I can't juke/360 pc killers. But I can still loop them and they eat my T-bags just like console killers. I have not faced any survivors on other platforms that were any better than what i face on PS4.
-
Holey freaking entitlement lmao. I don't like it, I can disable it, but everyone else should so I don't have to. I hope you know how ridiculous you sound lol.
-
@xEa said:
How do you know you played against PC?
As far as i know, the Globe means just a different plattform.
From my experience yesterday, noone escaped so far. Both PC and Console.
Because after thousands of hours i'm certain i'm not getting good nurses or huntresses all of the sudden playing on the switch.
-
@Clevite said:
Yeah, we swfed all night and escaped like 95% of the time.
I haven't met the dreaded pc nurse yet tho.
Although I am now of the opinion that the console Billy's are better. So many pc Billy's m1 and camp.
Admittedly small sample size, as it was only 1 night of games.
From what I have seen so far, Pc Nurse, huntress, and slinger are pretty damn good compared to console. Very easy to tell when you're going against one of those killers on PC compared to console. Not unbeatable by any means but definitely better.
-
Agreed. It's been pretty great so far.
-
After a full evening of crossplay, i'm pretty convinced PC players are not the master race you try to make everyone believe you are. You guys eat the T-bags just like console killers lol.

When I suck at something, I blame my teammates too.

"Until DBD runs at a stable 60 fps for Xbox"
My dude - if you wanted stable framerates, let alone a stable 60fps, you shouldn't have went to way of consoles.
It's perfectly doable to have good fps on console. Many developers do it.

Fair enough, I remember SB being notorious for Frame rate for many years. But if more people support crossplay, it will help the Devs see the disparity between platform performance more clearly, and hopefully make it more of a priority than it already should be. I'm mostly discussing balancing differences between platforms, of which I believe is either none to negligible for survivors. All platforms should the ability to PLAY their game, so I understand wholeheartedly if you don't want to opt in while this is not the case with optimisation.
This is not true. The devs see the disparity already. Console has been promised improved optimization for over 2 years now and it has not happened. This will not make it happen either. It's most likely not going to improve their revenue to improve the console experience so they don't really care about it. Either that or they have nobody who knows how to work with console which I don't believe.

People opting out of crossplay hurts the wait time. And all of the "reasons" listed I very much doubt are based in fact. I have been playing CONSTANTLY on PC for like two years and have never seen a hacker or exploiter.
Play killer on ps4...especially after the latest update and come back and tell us that any one of the ps4 killers give a ######### about your wait time.

Because brand new players were being put against players with thousands of hours again and again. That's a sure fire way to make sure your brand new players become ex players. You can't introduce something so incredibly broken and keep telling people to just hang in there as they are getting stomped every single game. Also It seems it only worked for some. Some streamers even who play the game for hours and hours every night were still getting put against babies. It was incredibly broken.

They fixed them?

Yup they are trying to get remix of swf that’s what it looks like to me. If I can’t play with my friends won’t support this game any longer
I can't even play solo.

I'll give it another couple of games but at this point i'm ready to quit. I've been rank 1 survivor and killer for 3 years now. These games are so incredibly boring I can't even stand to play anymore. Killers who obviously just started playing. Survivors who are horrendous. It's not fun in the least and I played probably 10 matches last night. I am honestly feeling like my suspicion all along is correct. That there is no secret mmr and they just turned off any sort of match making requirements in order to speed up que times.
-
Horrible. Some times I can't even see where a teammate is hooked. Not sure how this was ever tested and okayed
-
Update has been out for 4 hours. "it NEVER happens in normal gameplay" Cool story.
-
The swf boogeyman is laughable. Most of them are no better than going against a group of solos. Good solo survivors know where the killer is. It does not require someone on comms telling them. If people would quit taking the trueta1ent approach and screaming SWF every time they have a rough match and just play the game and work on improving they would get a lot better.
-
As long as people get in their feels over it, I will tbag whether you feel i've earned the right to or not. Nothing makes me smile harder than someone throwing an entire game because their ego was hurt.

You made a friendly reminder to let everyone know you have no game sense? Weird flex man.

I think it's fine. Survivor is incredibly easy. I can consistently get mid 20ks bps every match unless i'm face camped or tunneled. Even if i'm tunneled, when I get the chase points, stun points etc. I never die with 8k points so i'm not sure why people are getting so little. But in my region anyway killer que is instant, survivor is 5 to 10 minutes. Survivor is easy to play, I don't feel there needs to be more incentive to playing survivor. If people want more bps, they can play killer and hopefully help the que times in the process.

I will tunnel you and everyone else who brings OoO in to my match. It is too busted perk to not tunnel people using it.
I think most object users understand this. I don't run object because I find doing generators exhilarating.
-
I have to disagree for the main reason of it still remains that on most maps, if survivors split up and focus strictly on gens the game is almost over before the first hook can even take place. This is why people saying "just pressure gens" is silly and why I do think gen rushing is a thing and honestly I hate noed but i'm glad it exists because the threat of it is the only thing that makes some survs do anything other than gens.
As killer you can see the difference in the match and it's staggering. A game that goes super quickly with barely any hooks, the exit gates are powered and as i'm walking around there are multiple totems left, chests left unsearched, the survs came in, banged on gens and left. If that is their main goal "most" killers can't do much about it.
-
Survivor: Head on, quick and quiet, inner strength, object of obsession
Killer....I don't know if this is all meta or not but pyramid head I run ruin, surveillance, i'm all ears, and infectious freight.
-
If done correctly and at the correct time you will more than likely lose them. The good thing is 90 percent of survivors are complete potatoes and do it just because they can and it ends up hurting them more than helping.

I'm not claiming it's the best but my build for him has been BBQ, Corrupt, Surge, and pop. I usually do well with him at rank 1.
-
I have to say I never, ever would have thought people would be complaining about deathslinger being op. It really does show that people just like to complain.
-
In all honesty how much time does a killer dodging your lobby add to your search for a game? When it happens to me it takes about 5 seconds to find another killer. I'm not sure why this has you so upset.
-
How would not seeing your names and profiles have changed the outcome of the killer leaving after seeing you guys play offerings that looks like an attempt to be a toxic sabo squad?

Why did they disable the DC penalty?? Did I miss something?
Hackers were able to give people the DC penalty at will.
-
Spirit with stridor is easily countered just like almost every killer in this game. Stay split up, do gens, leave. End the game before she can snowball. GGEZ
-
consider yourself lucky if it's just today. Ever since they disabled the dc penalty it's been horrible for me. Almost every game now someone will DC. But people will still come on the forum and say there shouldn't be a penalty lol.

So you're telling me that object of obsession is fine? Is it fine that you can see wherever the trapper can place his traps while sitting on a gen? Object is a bane for so many killers and perks. It's so dumb for a survivor to be able to see the exact position of the killer all the time. Nemesis/Freddy and you get wallhacks in loop. The entire perk is clearly busted and easily abused and I find it funny how you think it's not a big deal.
I think it's fine. Freddy does have a gripe. But as rank 1 killer i see it so infrequently that I don't see a reason to complain about it. And when I do see it, it is even more infrequent that the person running it is good and it turns into an easy kill for me since I always know where that person is.

Btw, if you wanna watch a streamer who ACTUALLY plays chill and does extremely well while sharing their thought process and their observations...Watch Fungoose. The guy is an absolute treat and is GREAT at applying pressure and being aware of his surroundings in general. I feel like the whole "playing chill" thing in the video you linked was mostly just being used as an excuse if im being honest...
Heres a video Fungoose put out recently of a Bubba game. Spoiler alert, he was able to apply ALOT of pressure and prevented the survivors from doing much of anything, but still was honest with himself in admitting his own mistakes when he had them.
I agree fungoose is a great streamer. Very informative and very good. I would not classify him as playing chill what so ever. He does what he needs to do to win. If that means he needs to proxy a hook, he does it. If he needs to tunnel, he does it. He explains why he is doing it when he does it but still. I think goose shows more than anyone just how playing chill, is not a viable way to win.

So are you telling me that you get a 4k every game as a trapper against an object user? It's a massive issue and gives too much information to the survivor whenever the survivor pleases and can hide it whenever he wants to. I dont see how you think it's not a big issue to face.
Like I've said before..in a 1v4 game it is not fair for one survivor with one perk to be able to have information on the 'lone' killer at all times. SWF is broken already and this is just overkill
So if I don't 4k with the trapper every time someone uses a perk...that perk is a problem? I have to disagree.
-
Because it's not as big of a deal to face as most complainers want you to believe it is.

On average, most survivors will get 14-20k, whereas killers will be upper 20s. It's problematic.
Where did you get this data? Not saying you're wrong, but I would like to see this as it would be interesting. If your main concern is the grind in getting bps, and your fix is to equalize survivor and killer bps...wouldn't it just be easier to play killer when you need/want more bps?
-
@derppug said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1448035#Comment_1448035
The fact that BBQ is such an amazing perk that 9/10 a killer will run it, means we're talking abut both. Survivors need to have an easier time hitting the 32k OR WGLF needs a buff. Both of these are preferable, but one of them should be a no-brainer change already.
I disagree. I have no issues scoring as many points as the killer does in my matches and sometimes more. I don't think it needs to be easier for survivors to gain bps. Now comparing wglf and bbq yeah i agree completely. wglf offers no incentive other than bps and is usually not run in favor of perks that will at least do something for you in the game.

For starters, killers get +100% most games. Most survivors don't run WGLF. Regardless of what you do now, the grind is cut in 1/2 for killers.
So we are talking about bbq then and not just the base bps from each side?
