Lol No, I've been on nda mia for a bit. But it can't be worse than what Sluzzy posts, can it?

    On par with sluzzy

I was just using an example. Literally any group with similiar experience. Rookie killer vs rookie survivors. The survivors will smoke the killer. No one is suggesting insane increases. 15 seconds would be plenty. That adds up to 1 minute and 15 seconds. I like the concept of having to get parts to repair a generator..But that would take longer for the survivors then just increasing gen times

As far as slugging etc. Something like a 15 second increase wouldn't really change the outcome of slugging people

do you remember being a rank 20 killer going against rank 20s, killers will destroy survivors most of the time killer has a more forgiving skill curve then survivors when you are first starting out. I also like the idea of survivors having to get parts but that's because sitting on a gen is boring not because the gen times are bad.

  • Light burn is a pretty outdated mechanic and should be removed

  • He's still pretty good but his nerf definitely hit him and other killers have also gotten stronger since, so i'd say he's probably better the average but not top tier, the bigger nerf in my opinion was that hes not as fun anymore.

Don't worry next patch you'll have iron will and lucky break then you'll have that for over a minute and a half

I mean. People love to parrot their favorite streamers. So if you want to go that route. Tru3 who has 6k hours knows gens fly by to fast. There's also a reason killers slug and hook camp, and tunnel someone out of game ASAP. Because it slows the game down to a manageable level. There is no possible way you're getting 12 hooks before 5 gens are done in any situation. Without slugging, tunneling, hook camping to try and force a 1 for 1

If a killer of let's say 5k hours goes up against a group of 5k hour survivors who know how to loop and play optimally. Guess what happens ? The killer will get dunked on unless they're spirit or nurse

So then if they do slow down gens what are survivors supposed to do when killers do start to slug wouldnt gens times be too slow then? and yes the game is survivor sided in many situations being against a 4 man swf who are equally skilled as you is one of those situations and unless they make solo equivalent to SWF then balancing around such a scenario, which is very rare, would make killers insanely OP against anything other then a 4 man, which means that the issue isnt gen speeds but the difference between SWF and solo.

There are also situations where one side will have an edge purely because of RNG, also not a problem of gen speeds.

All I am saying is the more people who get angry with him the more he will do it. I agree its stupid and I see where you are coming from I too would have been on the bandwagon of going off on him then but then I found how everyone else was responding and thought about it people like this won't stop even if we go off now if people start to believe him, go off I'll commend you but no one believes Tony it's kind of like having that one kid in you're class who always "know something" about what you're talking about everyone just says "good for you" and moves on actually having a conversation. Now if he says something really outlandish that may very well not be a joke, get'em go for it my man i'll even back you but still most of his stuff is obvious baits. And I don't really have a problem with how you say it you just came off a little whats the word violent for everyone just brings if for at most comic relief know what im sayin' at least thats how I see it. Any who If you have not complaints from what i've said then I daresay good day to you.

The problem with just leaving him alone or responding in a dismissive manor is that people who are new the to game and forums may see that persons posts and trust their opinion for whatever reason

  • Okay again thats an optimization problem not a crossplay problem and PCs will get 144 fps in all those games so I dont see your point

  • Hopefully you'll get one, I'm always game for more events as long as they're worth playing, but I wouldn't get your hopes up I believe the devs have stated and correct me if I'm wrong cause I think I just heard this on a QnA stream awhile back but they are focusing more on less but bigger events going forward, which hopefully is the case cause the last 3 events kind of sucked. Last decent one was the 4th year anniversary.

Hey man not need to be like that. Some people have fun on the forums in different ways this is his way no need to give him crap for it, yeah if he believes the stuff he is saying then thats bad but just ignore him most of the people who do this kind of stuff just want attention and to start an argument so if you don't feed him as you are doing now he may eventually stop think of him as a tier one Myres that you're teabagging at the pallet and he is just staring at you, you think you're insulting him but he is just getting stronger off of you. ( I am still waiting on a battle between Lord_Tony and Sluzzy btw ).

Look I'm call out stupid when I see stupid, I see no harm in that. If you more have a problem with the way I said it sure that's a fine complaint one I'll ignore admittedly but fair. If you are more saying that he should be allowed to say as much ignorant things as he wants without anybody correcting him cause he gets a kick out of it then I'd have to hard disagree.

Stuttering, freezing constantly, FPS under 20, crashing ect.

Look at my thread on Console Optimization if you'd like to see examples.

Yes those are things that you are going to have to deal with as a console player a console is almost never going to beat a PC in performance. So I don't see how complaining about crossplay will help with optimization you're only shooting yourself in the foot.

He is just a baiter no need to take the majority of what he says seriously, he's the killer version of Sluzzy. There are some very VERY few points he has that make sense and or decent but again there are very few like this one.

Well if hes gonna troll he should expect to get some ######### back and if he actually believes all the things he says all the more reason to give him #########.

  • Idk but its the reason I never run hex perks, until they give killers the option of what totem to put it on or rework totem spots again im staying away from them, didnt even use em when undying was busted

  • Sure I dont really mind this but not until the breakdown bug is fixed cause right now going against a full team running breakdown will very easily create a hook deadzone that cant be carried out of, meaning the killer only has 1 option and its to slug everyone out.

    It's a protest.

Until BHVR recognizes the issues Console players face on a daily basis, crossplay stays off.

What does console players have to face on a daily basis that isn't just the inalienable differences between console and PC, the only thing I can think of is cheaters but PC players hate that too and its not like BHVR is ignoring them.

  • @alaenyia said:

No, every player in this game has multiple objectives they have to work on to get an acceptable score and/or pip. So the tired excuse that bad behavior is the product of "killers gotta kill" does nothing to advance the discussion. Survivors don't have to escape to pip, just like killers don't need to kill to pip. So clearly that is not all there is to this game.

When I play killer I am the host of that party, if any survivor in my lobby leaves that match with under 10k I am the failure. Either I did not play the game effectively so that everyone was engaged or they gave up and left. If killers do not wish to voluntarily play with some ethics I have no problem with BHVR stepping in to make it less appealing to killers to play badly.

Your analogy is also lacking, the equivalency to working on a gen is putting a survivor in a hook. Nothing in the game prevents that from happening, so nothing in the game should be throwing survivors off gens. The equivalency of camping survivors to death would be unrelenting flashlight saves so the killer can not get a survivor on a hook, not survivors doing their objective.

Most people don't consider a pip a win including myself, one such reason is as you said survivors don't even need to escape to pip and sometimes even when they do escape they don't pip, and the system as a whole is bugged and inconsistent by the devs own admission(why do you think they are spending so much time working out a different method to determine skill).

There is no clear cut win condition in the game currently as pip system is broken and not a reliable source for it, though if you want to use it as your win condition be my guest, but don't expect others to use the same system as you for the sole reason of "that's how you rank up"

Also how is the survivors doing bad a result of me playing poorly I've games where survivors made consistent mistakes that resulted in them losing very quickly and thusly receiving little points how is it any fault of the killer for that?.

I play pretty fairly, I don't camp, I don't tunnel unless given no other option, I only slug when necessary or when the whole team is right in front of me as it would be stupid not too especially if you know there are flashlights in the game.

    Are you dumb?

I pointed out two killers that I said have annoying design in my opinion. There’s 16 other killers. Again with well thought out replies

Your post isn't well thought and leaves a lot to interpret why should you be expecting well thought replies. You didn't say what you hated about Freddy and doctor and they have very different things that people hate them for. You also didnt give any examples of what killers have good mechanics that change a survivors experience for the better in your opinion.

Lastly you said hopefully trickster is a step in the right direction, have you not gone against a trickster or looked at what other people have said about him because right now it seems people don't like to go against as his counter play is basically the same as Death Slingers but trickster is bad.

The fact that he's been out for over a month now so you not knowing just further leads to you also not thinking this thread out very well.

  • Have you seen this dudes other forum threads?

  • That would kind of ruin it though, at least as a tracking perk. Its already not an amazing tracking perk on killers without mobility I'd rather run thrilling tremors or discordance on someone who can capitalize on the info BBQ gives.

I'd still run it though just because of the BP stacking though I would just be salty about it. Also the intended purpose of the perk is to give killers a good incentive to not camp and or tunnel, with the incentives being a stacking BP% increase for each individual hook as well as a info on survivors far away from the hook to give you a good reason to leave the hook.

BBQ has been in the game for a long time now and has only received a couple small changes and its been awhile since even that so I assume that even with its massive pick rate compared to other perks the devs realize that its not solely because of its function and more because of its BP gains.

I played A LOT after nerf for a distant saw montage.

Before nerf I used his chaisaw a lot. I used it every time to cover distance even if it's just 10 meters. When I was close to survivor I was always go for m2 even when I clearly should m1. I was trying to m2 even if survivor is so good at dodging that I have to throw the game for downing him. As old Billy you could use m2 only and survivors would have a lot of fun with you even if you make a 4k on 5 gens. Old Billy was perfetly balanced in terms of fun for both sides.

As new Billy you should manage your heat. You don't use chainsaw if it's not really nessessary. When survivor go for window you don't have a luxury to ######### around anymore, you have to m1. You have to walk to save your chainsaw for hit. If you try to act like old billy you will get overheat several times. Survivors probably would have as much fun as before, but for killer overheat is extremely annoying.

Old billy definitely was powerful but in a good way. You required a skill to perform well. That already was making him balanced.

BHVR nerfed him because he was popular. Not because survivors had a hard time against him. Not because he was overpowered. They just once again made a decision based on statistics.

Completely agree that was basically how I played old Billy as well, twas a sin to m1 on Billy for me.

  • As a killer main my favorite is probably coal tower, small map but has strong loops feels like one of if not the most balanced map in the game.

Least favorite is a toss up between new meat plant, Midwich, and Haddonfield, with an honorary mention of Ormond.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    Sure it can.

    Nerf SWF

    or

    Buff killers/solos

it's the only way to make this game balanced once and for all.

Even if you do either the game will never be as balanced as most competitive games, because of what the OP said there is way to much rng in this game for every match to ever be balanced.

  • @fr0sty1223 said:

Why do you guys say gen speeds are too fast yet almost always over commit to chases? In so many of my games I will have a killer chase me for a good 2 minutes before finally downing me and in that time my team will get 2-3 gens done and the killer will then proceed to get super salty after the game saying that gens go too fast. If I’m running you in loops and vaulting or pallet stunning you a lot then just give up the chase and go pressure gens. When I play killer I will typically only chase somone for 30-45 seconds max and if I don’t down them in that amount of time I leave them and go pressure gens.

people who say gens speeds are too fast are noobs or mostly joking, the bigger issue is almost always maps.

  • Same way I always play, slug when necessary and keep pressure on as best as I can.

  • Your takes are usually hot garbage and I wouldn't be surprised if this person who told you this was imaginary but in the even that they are a real person then they don't know what they are talking about.

  • In thought? that would be kind of nuts tbh, on maps with line of sight blockers this perk would give survivors a massive head start

  • They should just have a separate box that just always has BBQ in it tbh. I have it but I feel bad for people who dont.

  • @Verconissp said:

    Just gotta get better luck..

    i didn't get bbq 3 for my bubba from p1 level 50 till p3 level 49..

  • @Sup3rCatTree said:

The killer can literally come back to the hook after you have been unhooked and tunnel you. So if you start working on a gen and the killer comes over to you just after you get unhooked that's to bad because its deactivated now

Then why'd you stay in the area where you were unhooked? go somewhere else where the killer doesnt have exact info of where there were just 2 survivors.

    Just like Bubba got overbuffed.

And I disagree, Billy needed a punishment on zoning survivors. His movementspeed reduction was practically non-existant and he didnt need any perks or addons to get consistent 4k's in red ranks. So yes, Billy needed a nerf in his basekit too.

So what did they do wrong? A lack of variable addons. There are 2 addons that are linked to overheating, and the only good one of those 2 is a brown addon that increases the cap by 20%.

    So what would I alter?

    1. Big Buckle instead of reducing the TR by 8 meter while overheating, making Billy undetectable(he already has 2 addons making him undetectable WITH his power, so why not without his power?)
    2. Black Grease, instead of it's very weird and niche use right now, instead add 5 or 10% movement speed while overheating(which would go nicely with the above Big Buckle AND current Tuned Carburettor)
    3. A brown addon to actually speed up the normal heat dissipation in exchange of slowing down the dissipation massively while overheating(which would improve his basekit AND gives him more use out of the above Buckle and Grease, but would be severely punishing if used improperly).

Essentially, giving Billy a playstyle that can only work if he Overheats, adding an extra layer onto Billy that he now so desperately needs. Old Billy was kinda boring, as there wasnt much mindgaming to do with him. You either reached a window in time, or you were downed. You either dropped a pallet in time, or you were downed. Right now, giving Billy players to 99 their overheat mechanic and actually give them a beneficial situation(being undetectable AND being 120/125% MS for 15 seconds is enough to hit a survivor before they can drop a pallet and gives you enough speed to close the gap before they can reach the next tile, let alone that STBFL would actually do wonders in this situation).

Essentially, I agree with the reasons of his nerf and also agree with the concept of current Billy. I dont agree with the endresult. They need to fix his cam, and give him more variety in addons to make him fun to play again.

I mean you could say that Billy can get consistent 4ks without perks or add-ons but I'd argue most people couldn't do that some very good killer players could but they probably also do it with significantly weaker killers, bottom of the line is that if someone has more hours and practice then you they should win all the major content creators for dbd have thousands of hours in the game and as such should win the majority of their games even with handicaps.

  • @lagosta said:

I usually like his content but Scott is talking out of his ass there.

He only has access to one bit of info that was opened by the devs and tries to use that as a valid counter-argument. Not to say there were ulterior motives to the nerf of Hillbilly, but that video is garbage.

its the only info the devs gave us what else is he supposed to go on, the general community from what I saw was confusion as to why they would make the change and they even seem to contradict themselves with their own reasonings. It felt like 2 completely different people wrote those patch notes and 1 wasnt aware they were making changes to his base kit.

They said h was overperforming when he's only a little higher then most killers and around the same as killers like Myers. So I'd say its pretty fair to say its a pretty baffling decision to change his base kit.

  • @Pr0p3r9 said:

I think that it's possible that the devs didn't add overheat because they thought that Billy needed it, but instead to standardize the design of killer powers. It's occurred to me that the last killer to not have an overheat-like mechanic of any kind was Pig (or arguably Clown and Slinger), and that includes all the reworked killers.

Trickster charges up Main Event, Blight and Bubba recover Rush tokens, PH has a trail bar, rework Nurse has Blink charges, Slinger has a reload (arguable, I know, but look at the rest of this list), rework Doctor has Blast cooldown, Oni has a blood bar, rework Freddy has projection cooldown, Demo has portal cooldown, Ghost has Shroud recovery, Plague has Corrupt Purge, Legion has Frenzy duration, and Spirit has Haunting duration.

(I suppose you could argue that Wraith is an exception, but he didn't even get a full add-on pass rework. He did get buffs and a new mechanic, but he received very little changes compared to any other killer the devs have changed. He even had to share his slot with Clown, who did receive a lot of changes.)

If it's given that reloading on Slinger or Clown is comparable to a power recharge in a token system, then the last killer to be released or reworked with no charge bar of any kind was Pig. Look deeper at PH, Demo, Trickster, and Nurse. All of them having charge bars is a strange design decision. Demo's only really serves to annoy you if a survivor performs an unhook immediately after you portal away, otherwise the bar has no impact on gameplay. PH's bar doesn't actually do anything to stop him, because he only needs a sliver of charge to PotD. Main Event isn't worth it to use a lot of the time, and it feels like the ult is there to check a box off that says "has an ult/charge bar." Nurse's bar isn't much different than if they just made her fatigue last longer, but they went for a convoluted token system instead. Billy also follows this group of nearly pointless cooldowns.

Looking at this evidence, it makes sense to me that sometime around Pig's release, someone on the team decided that it would be the pinnacle of game design if every killer had either a power cooldown bar or a power spike bar in their kit. As they've made the game, that means shoving in cooldowns and power bars all over the place where they wouldn't otherwise be.

Thats probably the reason I just hate it, such a boring design philosophy

  • Because the bloodweb is dumb and its stupid and I hate it, and it hates me.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

He needs to be reviewed again. Addons need to feel like they are providing a benefit and at least many of the old ones were actually worth running. The only ones left that are fun are the ('Monto') Drift King addons.

They nerfed the hitting obstacles addons ('Bumper Billy'). Like these were not even popular or considered abused and were nerfed. No ones noticed because they are not popular.

They kept two chainsaw charge time reduction addons but penalize them into useless-ness.

Engravings feel terrible to use because of the overheat mechanic.

Just remove all these negatives/drawbacks to all his addons. It's not like there's an addon to increase his movement speed or counteract the other drawbacks.

What do you mean you dont think an add-on that cools your chainsaw only when having a flashlight shine on you isnt worth running.

I didn’t say he was broken also wraiths downside is he can’t attack

Then Billy's downside is he can barely turn, and if he bumps into something he gets stunned

  • It's the same as before, when it first came out I thought it was worse but its not, I watched some old clips of blight and he's still just sliding off all the same things as before and getting stuck in all the same ways as before and he still has pretty much all the same bugs as before.

Tbh I wouldn't be all that surprised if they just forgot to add the hit detection fix to the update and that version of the game is still just sitting in some devs hardrive.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

he Said can someone tell him why they nerfed Billy. I know the reason why, this is not a joke it has nothing to do with devs being bad at the game or stats it was that Billy had everything for free with no downside. Example

Oni needs to collect his power to have map pressure and insta down- Billy has it from the beginning and is faster.

Myers needs to stalk people to get his instadown- Billy has it from the beginning along with getting across the map with mobility which Myers doesn’t have.

Basically the point I’m trying to make is that Billy had all of this from the beginning he didn’t need to build up his power and he had no cooldowns he could just spam his power forever so he was nerfed so other killers can be played so people won’t say why play him when I can play Billy.

So wraith should get a cooldown and only be able to stay in his stealth for a certain amount of time then, he has his power at the start of the match and for free even. Just because he didn't have a resource bar to watch doesn't mean there weren't downsides to using his power. His downsides were a power that while powerful in its speed and lethality was difficult to hit comparative to most powers and is a lot more punishing to miss then just an m1.

Plus just because he "gets it for free" doesn't mean he was broken in any fashion.

He is honestly just repeating what was said when Billy got nerfed. I mean, I could care less, for me, they can remove the Overheat, I dont have any problem with it either way, the onyl time I overheated since the Nerf was, when I got matched against Rank 20s during the very first MMR-Test (which was quite common for Billy, Tofu had the same problem) and just went for long-range Chainsaws with the Steering Add Ons, trying to snipe people from across the Map.

Other than that, as long as you dont try for every Chainsaw, even if they are impossible to land, you wont overheat.

Yeah that's kind of the problem though I loved going for saws even if they seemed impossible sometimes I'd get them sometimes I wouldn't now Ill just go for saws on back revs or the tiles I know I can curve around. One of my favorite things about old Billy is that you never really needed to m1 ever, there were certainly situations were it was better to m1 but that's boring.

He cant even do drift king anymore which was the only time I used add-ons and all I got out of his change were a bunch of stacking annoyances that completely killed my love for him as a killer and I only play him for dailies now, sometimes I'll even skip his challenge.

  • I think we should all acknowledge that BHVR doesnt listen to almost anybody but themselves and shareholders. The only time they listen to the community is when something is universally agreed upon that they probably thought it themselves already anyways, like trickster bad.

  • depends on the situation but for the most part no I don't count it as a loss in my head more of a draw since most times a key escape is the result of them having no other option and getting lucky or using an offering. Does it bug me a little, feels like a cheap way to end the match and never feels good. I certainly never feel outplayed by a key escape.

  • Fractured cowshed

    Haddonfield

    The game

I'd still say Ormond is pretty bad though not quite as bad as it used to be(ill admit this one may just be some bias because of how much I hated the old version)

and with some honorable mentions of mothers dwelling for most killers though if your a high mobility killer its not too bad, and I also find Yamaoka family estate to be pretty dreadful.

One last note of any Badham map aint fun, not necessarily always survivor sided but it will be most of the time.

  • Anyone who says wraith is the new Freddy needs to meet me outside the Walmart for a talk, don't get me wrong current wraith isn't exactly rocket science but Freddy was never the easiest killer in the game anyways, he's just always been the easiest to do well with due to a bloated kit and annoying add-ons Freddy has too many different aspects in his kit, he has an anti loop, teleport, even a kind of stealth and with add-ons he even has free game delay.

Wraith on the other hand just does one thing and he does it fairly well, he's good at sneaking up to survivors in bad positions and getting a free hit anything after that he's basically just machete man. Sure you can use his powers at some short to maybe medium sized loops but even then it can be countered with quick reactions, certainly not Freddy's snares or even his dream pallets

  • right now thats a horrible idea for one reason, the breakdown bug, unfortunately if a full team runs it especially with the right offerings they can fairly easily create a complete dead zone of hooks that leaves the killer with no other option then to just slug them till they die, with your changes this would be even more abusable then it already is.

Once the bug is fixed sure I wouldn't mind the change would very rarely ever impact my games and at worst would result in someone getting hatch that i was probably gonna give them anyways for slugging them that long.

1 … 33 34 35 36 37 … 40
