Sorry but Billy does have to learn the game like the "Rest of them"? He doesn't ignore loops, in fact he probably has to respect them the most out of any killer apart from maybe Wraith and other killers that have weak chase powers. You're not playing a different game like hag or spirit, you're playing the same way as every normal killer, the only difference is you go fast and kill dumb people who make mistakes faster. Idk how much hexy you had to watch to get that idea but geez.
Yeah, Hexy has some pretty wack opinions for someone who has been around for as long as he has. Like Nurse being low tier and clown being high.
-
The version before that hotfix that increased the overheat never actually made me overheat. Since that 'fix' you can easily overheat just using your chainsaw for mobility.
It feels like they're kneecapping high tiers with good mobility with this and the Nurse change. That said the Nurse one definitely had less effect.
-
I think it would have to be a docked ship with a open dock area. We've seen time and time again that dbd isn't balanced for small corridors. The killer needs the opportunity to cut off a survivor which they don't have on indoors maps. Not to mention Trapper is basically a eunech right now with all the maps that directly counter him.

I'm not ignoring the 99% of games, just pointing out how the 1% is unbalanced for tournament play. And yes, there is interest in this game becoming an e-sport, otherwise there wouldn't be $15.000 raised for a prize pool. I don't have a solution for the balance, I'm just pointing out how the game isn't balanced
This game needs an absolutely signifcant overhaul at a base level to be even remotely e-sports viable. DbD as an esport is laughable.
-
The truth of the matter is that no matter how good a killer is, if the survivors spread out properly and focus gens there isn't much the killer can do. '''THAT SAID''' very few people outside of tourneys play this way as its incredibly dull for both sides. You do get SWF sweat squads that play this way on occasion but they make up maybe 2% of actual survivors. And I mean proper sweat squads. Let teammates die to focus gens sweat squads. No game should ever balance around the top 5% of players.

I've reported a SWF group two months (!) ago which was able to trigger the Endgame Collapse by illegal means merely half a minute into the trial. I made sure to send a support ticket explaining the circumstances as well as a screencap of the postgame-chat as additional evidence to secure their punishment.
TWO MONTHS later I received the notification that nothing was done about the issue simply because I didn't have a recording tool running as an ordinary pc player. Doesn't BHVR keep records of matches on their servers? How can you explain this blatant injustice?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8OA2NYGDT5IL/seriously.png
I reported a no mither nea that instantly revived upon down and even flew around the map at one point. Played with her 3 days later.

I totally agree with the devs. Clown absolutely is underrated. Once it’s properly understood HOW to use bottles to control the chase and shut down loops (rather than mindlessly always throwing them at survivors and wasting them), Clown ends chases ridiculously fast.
Clown is for players that already have really good tracking ability, able to quickly find survivors after successfully ending a recent chase.
Quickly downing one survivor after another by severely limiting a survivors mobility and escape options is where Clowns pressure lays.
I see this thrown around a lot and would consider myself pretty good at herding and zoning the survivors as Clown. He sucks. Ending the chase fast doesn't mean much with the slow base reload and total lack of mobility or pressure. The fastest down a base clown could get (which would require the survivor to be a literal potato) is still longer than Leatherface or Billy.

You can be sure that the reason, why Jason is not in the game yet is NOT because the Devs dont want him.
It's because the character and IP as a whole are locked in a constant legal battle. Jasons the pipe dream. It'll never happen.

I love Clown but being able to force early pallet drops is pretty much all he can do. No mobility. No real map pressure. Safe pallets are that are dropped pretty much counter him because chances are he used all his bottles already anyway.

Demos fun but not too effective. Freddys very dull to play but very strong. Pyramid head is fun too. Ghostface is decent but inconsistent due to his buggy shroud.

These spirits are pretty bad ngl. That last one. Oof.
Also comms are allowed so this tournament shouldn't even be taken seriously.

Yeah. I got hit round a long loop with a dropped pallet on Midwich by what I'm pretty sure was a VPN billy the other day. Like literally he downed me and spent a good 10 seconds trying to find my before he saw I was on the other side.
And this wasnt a laggy pallet vault hit I was literally on the other side looping round.

@ScienceGirl said:
So first off let me start by saying that I understand that when you play with other people you pose a risk of running into frustrating scenarios; but with that being said, I still have to have this little rant lol.
I always use Botany Knowledge, it’s just something that never leaves my loadout as I love being able to constantly heal my teammates faster and I also love being able to do the same to myself. During each trial I always designate myself as the person who will go for hook saves, pick up slugged teammates and heal people. It’s just how my play style is, I like keeping people alive as long as possible.
The problem I face is that I will go out of my way to make sure people survivor as long as possible but I feel like I don’t get the same love in return. I had a match last night where I wasn’t downed or hooked all game, but I got caught trying to open an exit gate and hooked. The killer didn’t camp me in the slightest but still the entire team stood on the opposite side of the map teabagging with each other; up until I eventually died, keeping in mind that this was my first hook. The killer didn’t go over to them until after I died and at that point they opened the exit gate, taunted the killer inside and then proceeded to leave.
The most frustrating thing is that they all knew nobody was coming to save me as they were all sat together. There was no NOED or anything else to keep them from coming over to at least TRY to save me. Nobody even came to check if the killer was camping. So it’s okay for me to save them all from hooks, pick them up from being slugged, continuously heal them, fix 3 generators (you’re welcome guys) but as soon as I get hooked, it’s okay for me to just be left to die? It just really got under my skin. It wouldn’t bother me as much if this wasn’t a common occurrence, but I feel like it happens way more than it should.
I just can’t stand selfish people and that’s what it comes down to. People are completely fine with being saved but as soon as the shoe is on the other foot they couldn’t give a damn. I suppose this is just one of the many perils of playing in solo lobbies.
I’ve also noticed similar scenarios when I’m playing as killer. I quite often see somebody being left on a hook to die when I’m nowhere near it. I sometimes wish I could take the survivor back off lol.
Sorry for the essay, I just had to vent. 😌
Thats the solo survivor struggle. I had a game against Doc the other week. Did 3 gens, ran him around for a while for them to get another gen, then when he chased me off, my teammates all hopped in the hatch and left me to die.

It's a shame they didn't do the smart option and limit consoles to each other OR PC with a toggle. You can disable it altogether on the main menu options. Thankfully it doesn't seem to lower queue times that much.

They are proving the idea that they are supposed AFK and still all that time. No one cleared bones at all proving the need for NOED changed in debate is otherwise the wrong point. Instead, it's proven by his experience that Survivors dont take the time to do bones at all but cry for NOED to be changed.
I don't believe noed is op but this is a dumb argument. No one who plays dbd for actual gameplay and chases is going to spend more time than necessary in a match with an AFK killer. There's no point in cleansing dulls if the killer is AFK if you're worried about noed because of that very reason. When the killer is active and is wearing your team down with hooks noed could be the difference between escaping with one hook left or dying so it makes sense to cleanse any totems you see (or if you're having trouble finishing gens just memorise their locations. which is honestly way more time safe).
I use small game every match but I still wouldn't bother.
-
@ShrimpTwiggs said:
As much as I agree that survivors should do more totems, I don't blame them for trying to rush out of a boring match.

Anti-loop shouldn't even be a thing. It's the survivors main defense with items and stealth as secondary options. Going into a loop shouldn't be a death sentence as the moment a killer starts chasing you, you're immediately on a timer for how long it takes for them to catch up.
Oh boy have you kicked the hornet nest with that first sentence.

I'm not enjoying having to slam space on the keyboard. I already hated mashing A/X. Is it possible to bind it to mousewheel or something?
-
Why is it only the killer perk meta that ever needs to be shaken up? The meta survivor build literally has not changed since I started at Huntress' release.
-
Also, to add. You're playing an instadown killer so you lose a lot of potential chaser points when getting a one shot down.
-
I mean... they don't have to use their left hand to carry stuff even if they're left handed so...
-
It doesn't apply when a survivor is close enough to the hook or the exit gates are opened (I Think on the second part anyway).

Eh.... I'm nervous about reworking MoM. It's pretty hard to get protection hits right now as the detection can be iffy.
The prevalence of than and sloppy nowadays disincentivise it further. but I feel like unhooks might make it too strong.
Seriously, launch MoM was AWFUL to play against as killer. I stopped playing killer until it was nerfed after the first week.

Again, I think we would all be better off if we deleted the word "toxic" from our mutual vocabularies. It is a meaningless word. Right now people use it to describe WHATEVER behavior they happen to personally dislike. Nothing we do in the game, within the rules, should ever get shamed or complained about. The only behavior in the game that is worthy of mention or reporting is hacking, using a lag switch, or perhaps abusing a bug. Play style is up to the Killer and Survivors. They should do them. People in glass houses you know? Bad behavior before or after the game is the only thing that really qualifies as bad for the community. It in includes passive-aggressive Salt, profanity, threats, insults, and really creepy comments about hoping people (their family or pets) die. Shaming the Player's behavior in the game (when it is perfectly legal) also falls under this heading. All of this should be reported, without exception.
So, I don't care if someone clicks their damn flashlights at me for the entire match. It might be annoying, but it isn't worth reporting and isn't a violation. It isn't "toxic" in the least. Tea-bagging is extremely annoying, disrespectful and shows the person to be a bad sport (particularly when the game has animations already for us to call each other out) but it isn't "toxic," worthy of a report, or a violation. It is something that happens inside the game and you can respond to it inside the game. What happens in the game stays in the game. Think about it this way, in Norse Mythology, worthy warriors are transported to Valhalla. They spend their nights feasting and partying, and their days going out to battle one another to the death. It is no holds barred, painful, full contact fights which result in them being cut to pieces. After the battles, they get put back together, laugh about it, and go to eat and party. That should ALWAYS be us. Play HARD. Give it all you got every time in. But when we leave the game, we are friends who share a mutual hobby. Humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
This. I've even seen streamers/youtubers say stuff like "oh hes going to loop shack now that so toxic". It's become a go to word for "thing I dont like".

I feel like every other game as Killer I get flashlight clicked at, t bagged at pallets, and bullied in end chat by a SWF group telling me to die of cancer. I don't get as many toxic people as survivor, but why are people like this? This community can be so toxic and I don't get why. Entitlement? Maybe. Even when people get what they want I get insulted relentlessly. The community gets a bad rep from people like this. Idk, maybe its just me. Just tired of people feeling the need to be mean as hell. Every game has toxic people, but I see it especially here.
The only toxic thing here is the post game salt. Disable the chat its an awful feature. Flashlight clicking and teabagging is annoying but if its tilts you and baits you into a chase its working exactly as intended.

If you read anyone's advice on how to run from Spirit, not one of them says "do random #########". Not one.
You shouldn't be doing random things. You she be doing things that counter what you know to be her only valid options. In most cases that is 1) she is behind you or 2) she went around to the other side to cut you off.
Run tiles. Use windows. Don't ever run back to the husk. Break LOS to force phase. Those are the basics to beat her. Nothing random, no guessing, if you know what she is and is not capable of you can counter play her. It doesn't matter if she knows where you are if she can never hit you coming out of phase anyway.
None of these tactics work on me when I play spirit. The LOS one is usually countered by simply pretending to phase and they'll double back because there's a 9/10 chance you are trying to cut them off or short phasing for a second or two. Using pallets on anything but the safest pallets in the entire game like the basement ones on The Game or the badham basement isnt viable if your visible before phase and vaults are easy to hear. If its a short loop you can even just stand mid length around the pallet and phase in place and you'll get a free hit 9/10 as they try to predict which side to end up on.

Yeah, really good that faking the Power is actually better than using the power. Great design.
This is honestly my only problem with his power. I think the rest of his design is very well done. The fact that faking out the projectile is stronger than the projectile itself. Same with Deathslinger is some situations. Very weird. You don't even have to commit to dropping the sword for the slight slowdown, just clap and drop it.

Literally.
Always 4 survivors running copy pasted builds, and gen rushing like CRAZY DUDE. Are you guys ok earning 15k bloodpoints or even 10k or less per match lol?
It's insane the amount of sweatiness. They just don't play this game for fun, they play this game to win and feed their ego, in case they are the typical cocky ones. Because yes, I face a lot of this type, going berserk on end game chat trying say all kinds of things (and nope, I'm not whining about end game chat, that's the least of my problems).
I just swear to god that If my games keep going on like this every day, I'm going to dump 1M points on freddy and spirit everytime, and I'll just play them. Because you just can't have fun with survivors who just mindlessly want a quick win-win in every single game.
Just throw on corrupt if you're having that much trouble with gens. If you're a good killer getting a first hook to get the ball rolling before or around the first gen is all you need. The vast majority of red rank survivors are quite awful as a lot are carried by SWF comms.

Pyramid head needs definitely nerf. How this this made to live servers like seriously. He can spam hiss ability without any fatigue 24/7 and can bait it without any cooldown. I think this is really stupid because huntress at least needs to pull out her axe and if she wants to take it back it takes another second at least. pyramid head can spam it like totally no brain #########. Trying to run him on loop with pallet is impossible cause it doesnt matter how hard u try he will keep spamming his ability until u re down. Just give him fatigue or some cooldown for anything he does cause pulling out his power to bait without any cooldown is just bullshit.
Pyramid heads forced a choice. Either take the status effect and continue looping him but risk getting sent to a cage (and potentially tunneled off of it because no DS).
OR
Avoid the trails and run from tile to tile trying to waste as much time as possible, this can actually frustrate some PHs when they see you aren't falling for it/wasting their time when they keep laying trails and I've had many give up and leave to find someone on a gen.
I actually like that aspect of his power quite a lot.

People confuse competitive with e-sports all the time for some reason. DBD is a competitive game because players compete against eachother to win. That does not by any means mean its an e-sports/ready designed game. Blows my mind that people still confuse the two.
Mario Party is another competitive game. See the distincition?

And I have to say, that it starts to gets annoying.. and boring to play against the same killer perks again and again. I am very happy to know that the devs track the perk ususage of all perks in the game (surv + killer) and that they might notice the overusuage of Corrupt Intervention in the near future.
I don't care about anyones opinion about genspeed. Because depending on which side you stand (surv, killer, both), you mostly will not argue rational, but rather shout out what you think.
I really hope that the devs react faster in the future when it comes to over but also underusuage of perks. We have so many different perks, but the most of them never get picked. That's sad.
Kind of have to if you're a killer that requires any sort of set up. Maps are too big right now with gens often being completed before the killer can even reach the other side of the map if 2 or more survivors spawn together. 2 survivors with one prove thyself can complete a gen in 40 seconds flat without toolboxes or other buffs.
Killers run slowdown/regression perks because outside of the top tiers they kind of have to. They reworked Ruin without fixing the problem that Ruin was helping with, so obviously it would be replaced.

Meh, I just hate Spirit because she's too easy to play for how much power she gets.
Same reason I hated the CCS in Dark Souls 3 back when it was braindead powerful with pretty much no downsides. At least in DKS3 (and fighting games like you're saying here), I could also choose to pull a CCS (or Estoc turtle) out of my ass if I faced someone that was using one. Or just legitimately outplay them because they were the worse player and we have to work around parallel mechanics.
Yeah sure whatever you can hypothetically (not theoretically, there is no theory here, make no mistake there is no evidence that you can consistently outplay a good Spirit player) make a Spirit miss here and there in a match. But she's still going to kill your solo queue team because not everyone's going to be able to do that and gens aren't necessarily going to be done in time. Certainly not when resources are used up or if you get a map that just doesn't have that many resources to begin with.
Well, she's going to kill everyone unless she's dumb or overthinks her phasing or can't track properly. See Otz. Like the guy, but he isn't that great at some basic killer things if I'm being honest. Overthinks waaaaaaaaay too much sometimes, or is just blind/deaf in crucial moments.
That's the issue. People just suck, and people like you OP conflate sucking with counterplay.
I think that's part of my reasoning aswell. I've gotten flak for it but I've said I'm fine with Wraith staying meh for example until they increase his skill ceiling. Freddy is a similar case. Extremely basic to play and lacking in any sort of skill ceiling at all, but so strong that 4 equal skilled solos to a skilled freddy will pretty much always lose.
It says a lot that him and Spirit are considered the go-to "turn your brain off" killer for grinding bloodpoints or pips.
Deathslinger, for how much I complain about the chase and find him pretty dull to face. Is skill based but has pretty major penalties to misplaying or lacking skill. As do Nurse and Huntress.
I find it hard to dictate wether Spirit as a mid level skill ceiling or a high one. There's a lot you can do with her power especially with the speed add ons. But it never really comes into play because the survivor will lack the feedback to get into a situation where the killer needs to use that skill.
Her power also charges way too fast if she does misplay, there's basically no punishment.
At the end of the day I still play her occasionally because I find her extremely fun. But, and this may be hypocritical, I'm at the point a year or more later where I hear the phase at the start of the match and struggle to motivate myself to continue playing. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't DCed against a Spirit or two in recent months due to just not being in the mood. I usually pride myself on not DCing unless someone else quits early or 2 survivors go down at the basement a minute in. But at this point its just not fun to face her anymore. I get no satisfaction from "outplaying" a Spirit because I know I DIDN'T outplay her, I just got lucky. There was no skill involved from my side. Whereas if it did happen, its because she lacked skill and outplayed herself.
I consider doing the same with Legion and Deathslinger sometimes even though 95% of games against them are free wins so "le you just le mad you cant le loop her xD" is a cop-out excuse. I still love playing against Billy, Hag, Huntress, Micheal and Pig. Even Oni, who is mysteriously never mentioned by the "you're mad you can't loop arguers". It's just boring. "Oh, I think shes phasing I'll tr- Oh im dead good play yep lots of fun. Oh shes on me again how about I fake a double back and then vau-Oh Im dead because she heard me because STRIDORLOL"

That said I don't use it myself. No space.

I think Blood Wardens kinds of ok against overly altruistic survivors in the egc.
Remember be though honestly used to be one of my most used perks but the obsession change that allowed players to basically choose who becomes the new obsession combined with the timer nerf on it killed the perk for me. I'd like to see a change.

"Learn how to counter her". This is a stupid response. There is NO counter to a Spirit with Stridor. Trying to be random wont work because they ahve all the info they need/
Thats the problem. Base spirit with no add ons? Potentially if they aren't a high tier killer you can outplay them. Iron will? Free win (which is stupid as hell anyway). Stridor? Even if you have iron will you're just making it easier for her. There's no "picknig the right option" against her when she has that much info. Its a flawed arguament by people who cant underrstand how unhealthy her design is from a long term game health perspective.
Old freddy was ######### trash but he was unhealthy. Thats why we hated him. LEgion is trash but extremely boring to play against hence the DCs. Spirit is strong, yes. And that MAY be why some poeple hate her or want her changed. But the truth of the matter is that Spirit is extremely unengaging to play against? You think I want to loop killers? hell no its boring as #########.
But you cant take away counterplay without adding some new form in response.
And "just be unpredictable" isnt counterplay because she has all the cards with the sound she hears. This is the equivalent of a Tekken game where that enemy Yoshimitsu can see your buttons before you input them. This aint mordhau. Unpredicatbility doesn't work.
