You can't wait it out if it's in a loop. And yes, sometimes you can pressure them into a bad side but good survivors know where dead zones are and won't go there. If you try and bait it mid loop they get the window or pallet either way, don't pretend like you can.
"You can bait dead hard in a loop" is as realistic as " do 5 totems"
That was my point. DH can be unreasonable to deal with sometimes in the same way as NOED is.

Okay, so I guess we have to be literal with you, since it seems you can only focus on the word unplayable. When I say it, not gonna speak for everyone, but when I say it, it means you can still play, if you are ok with missing on swings right in front of you, cant mind game cause you lag and teleport to places you didnt intend to go, players get free dead hards cause when I go to swing it stops for 3-5 seconds for me but not the other player I am chasing. When I do get to swing and hit someone they get their burst but I am stuck standing still cause theres that pesky 3-5 issue again. These simple tasks such as hooking, interrupting, grabbing, picking up, and just running in general are bugged in a serious way right now for most console players. Does this make the game impossible to play, no, but to play in the fashion I could just a month ago it is. I am also not a level 1 killer nor a 15, I generally hover between 4-6. So I know how to play and what should normally happen. I also do not believe there is an overnight fix either, however nobody is speaking up and explaining anything or offering any type of assurance that this is going to be fixed. So I feel I have been clear and fairly concise, do you now understand what we feel is unplayable?
The only point I was making is to not call in unplayable because it's not. You shouldn't be exaggerating when you're talking about the state of the game because it seems like you're trying to make it seem worse than it is. I understand that a lot of people on console are having problems but it is nowhere near unplayable. I have a lot of friends who play religiously on console and they are all doing it perfectly fine. If you think the game is "unplayable" then don't play it, simple as that. There's a fix for your problem.

DH doesn't require skill, and DH for distance in a loop has no counterplay.
DS doesn't require skill (if you miss that skill shot your either new to the game, bad or drunk. Idc which. Maybe a mixture). And has little counterplay (you often give up pressure because of it).
Now onto the main points of this post.
1 way to counter noed and other totems reliably. Bring a map. End game comes round and you have probably passed all the totems. There you ######### go. All totems in sight, just go round checking them. Takes 30s. Literally not impossible or unpractical.
There, it can be disabled and doesnt take forever.
1 way to counter DH reliably. Wait it out. You can just assume most survivors use it and if you wait it out or pressure them into an area with no resources you'll never have to worry about it.

Where are they?? People keep saying this but I havent seen or heard from one yet. Please have some console players come in and prove that they see none of these issues cause I dont believe the "plenty are having no issues" line.
Almost every killer I play with is on console. If it was unplayable nobody on console would be playing it.
-
I'm one of the few people who think that DH is okay but if it did get nerfed I could see why. Honestly though even if it did get nerfed the new meta would just be Sprint Burst and in some ways that's even stronger than DH. I don't think a nerf to DH would change much honestly.
-
You can already kind of tell when they have Bloody Coil because it takes longer to disarm a trap. So when you're disarming and the progress bar is red it's an indication that they most likely have it. It doesn't always mean it though because there is another add-on that takes longer to disable but as a general rule you probably shouldn't disarm a red trap.
-
yeah I agree. There lots of other perks that caused exposed that are just way better. Starstruck can be used many many times in one game.

Oh yes, ha ha.
It's figurative.
When the game runs at 25 FPS but freezes whenever:
Someone enters chase
Someone screws up a skill check
A new status effect appears
Someone uses an Exhaustion perk
Bloodlust kicks in
A pallet is dropped
A gen is completed
A vault occurs
A gate is opened
That's not what I would call playable, but I'm not going to argue with you.
You've already demonstrated that you aren't up for a logical discussion and based off of your other opinions, I have no interest in further wasting either of our times.
Lol "aren't up for logical discussion"? I see that people here really just label anybody who mainly plays survivor as unfit for discussion.

I don't disagree with him and i play on console.
I play survivor because it's the only way I can bare to play right now. Killer is unplayable because the slightest bit of lag will cause you to lose a survivor in chase. Also using any killer power will cause lag, etc, etc.
Don't claim to speak for all console players if you don't actually represent how we feel.
So then why is almost every killer I get matched with on console? Because it's unplayable? Of course not, they're playing the game and they can do it damn well.

Except the perk can be turned off before it every turns on. And this game is not 'competitive', not by a long shot, rofl.
NoED is fine. Survivors have more come from behind perks than they can equip, but Killers have ONE come from behind perk and suddenly Survivors are up in arms. Almost like they feel entitled to win.
It doesn't have reasonable counterplay. Of course you CAN disable it but it's extremely unreasonable to have to cleanse 5 dull totems just to disable 1 hex perk. They literally nerfed Undying because it was unreasonable to have to cleanse up to 4 totems to disable 1 hex perk. NOED's power only functions off of the survivor's abilities to do totems, it has nothing to do with the skill of the killer. They also nerfed Ruin a long time ago because it was based solely off of the survivor's abilities to hit great skill checks, a killer's skill had nothing to do with it. NOED falls under the same philosophy as both of those original perks because it...
A. relies on the skill of the survivors to cleanse totems, not the killer
B. It is unreasonable to have to cleanse 5 totems for 1 hex perk, like old Undying.
No survivor is ever entitled to win, they just want perks that require skill and reasonable counterplay. NOED is neither of those and I don't even want NOED to fundamentally change as a perk, it just needs to have better counterplay. We just want a fair game.
-
I know for a fact that killer is not unplayable on console because there are plenty of Twins mains that are playing just fine on console right now. Stop trying to call the game unplayable because every person that is playing on console right now would disagree with you.
-
The only thing that anybody thought could be legitimately annoying were the add-ons. Some of the busted ones should have been changed like with Huntress, but nobody thought that his base power should have been nerfed. It is very strange that they actually went through with that change.

You said 'Middle finger perk'. Those perks I named are middle fingers to the Killer.
Also; losing all the gens is just a step in the game. The Killer has not lost until the Survivors actually cross the exit line. Why is this so hard for Survivors to understand?
Losing all 5 gens does not mean the Killer has lost, or deserves to lose the rest of the match! This is an arbitrary event Survivors claim to pretend NoED is flawed!
I will keep saying it every time someone brings up that bunk about 'Losing all 5 gens'. Who cares if 5 gens pop? The game is not over. Survivors don't win just because all 5 gens pop. Stop pretending 5 gens popping has any meaning.
It. Means. Nothing.
Losing all the gens is the final step until the survivors escape through the exit gates. Of course the killer has not lost yet but they are in a losing position. In an F1 race you don't give a speed boost to the racer in last place because they deserve to be in last place, they're losing. NOED is the equivalent of a Mario Kart item that you get in last place to boost you up to 3rd or 4th. It doesn't belong in a competitive game and if you've lost all the gens you should have to come back with your own skill, not a single perk that can legitimately grant you a win for free.
-
We know nothing about the feature except for the fact that it exists in a concept. I highly highly doubt that the devs would legitimately make a feature that would automatically ban somebody just for getting reports that weren't even looked into. None of us can claim what it does and we're all freaking out for nothing.
What seems more realistic is that once you get enough reports somebody will then look at those reports and make a decision, it most likely won't automatically ban you.

'I don't want any perks on the survivor side to exist just as a middle finger to the killer'
Dead Hard and Adrenalin come to mind right away...
Dead Hard doesn't grant you a free win lmao if there are no more resources around you it won't work and half the time it doesn't even work because of the servers. You have to actually finish all of the gens for Adrenaline to even work, it rewards you for getting that far into the game. NOED rewards a killer for LOSING all of the gens, if your survivor team never makes it to the end game Adrenaline will never work. Even the worst killer in the world will get value out of NOED because it requires you to lose all of the gens for it to work.
-
Why would you want a middle finger perk in the game at all? I don't want any perks on the survivor side to exist just as a middle finger to the killer because that's unfair and stupid. You are only making more of a case to get NOED significantly reworked.
-
If you want people to stop being toxic in-game posting about how salty you are on the forums is only going to make it worse.
-
You are about to get the hate train, my friend. Buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride. Just know that there are people who agree with you but they will be drowned out by the killer mains.
-
No I hate you and the dbd community. Have a terrible day.
-
Yeah I mean survivors should be running the best stuff in the game in the same way killers should be as well. That's just how competitive games roll.

I'm confused.
"I almost never leave rank 1"
"The only people who use Noed are people who are rank 15"
So if that's the case, why are you so bothered about it?
It's an exaggeration. Of course every once in a while there's a red rank NOED user but it's even known as the noob perk.
-
I agree that furtive chase should be buffed but why are you using furtive chase lol
-
Honestly I really like the idea of being to store 2 heals. You're able to bring any medkit with addons and get 2 really fast heals for free. Why not make Inner Strength be able to store 2 heals? You can theoretically heal 5 times off of it anyway, it wouldn't change it too much.
-
Yeah Oni is pretty rare to see for me.
-
Oh yeah sometimes it feels impossible to play survivor because the killer hits you through everything, even 5 feet away from a window. I'm just really praying for the pallet hit rework to change this up a lot.

Stats are Skewed.
It don't tell us if it has the Dcs in it. they suicide on first hook. Etc
Don't trust the stats when behavior don't factor that in,
Oh and can't forget the afk too,
In my experience those things are extremely rare. I don't like throwing out the statistics because of things like DCs that are uncommon. The stats are for the average game and the average game doesn't have a DC or suicide in it. If it did it would be a really terrible game and nobody would play it.
-

Because the game is survivor sided?
Like. have you See how bad it can be if you get 4 good survivors against a weak killer?
You need Noed to counter gen rushers. even I don't get mad at Noed being used against me. just gotta take it out or leave the teammate, real simple
The stats would like a word with you...
Seriously tho the stats show that the average red rank game is very killer sided. There are some killers like Freddy who even have a 75% kill rate. The majority of killers have a 65% kill rate and above. In the average game it is not survivor sided at all.

You can argue that about whispers. you can't counter that unless you walk out of his 32 meter range,
Noed. like i said. punishes gen rushers. and for those that don't Do totems, well. get whacked,
Not the killer's fault if he had bad rng set up in said map. killers are limited on abilities my dude,
Cept trickster...I can always see Noed on him 100%...
Whispers doesn't expose every single survivor. And what do you mean by "gen rushers"? People who do the objective too quickly...? The killer didn't apply enough pressure to the gens and that's their fault, they shouldn't be rewarded for not applying pressure throughout the game. Survivors only really have 1 objective, to do gens and leave. Why would you want a counter to survivors doing the only objective? Do you expect them to just sit around and do dull totems even tho 99% of the time there is no reason to? That's ridiculous!
-
@Verconissp said:

You want to counter ruin / undying? Go cleanse totems,
Oh look. Devour popped up? Go counter it by cleansing,
Killer has Bbq? counter it by hiding behind a locker / gen / faking going one way and go another etc,
Killer has alot of perks that can be counterplayed...Noed is counterplayed..
The problem is that all of those perks either notify you that they exist or take some skill to use properly. Devour is fine because it actually takes skill to hook survivors and then get away from them. Ruin notifies you that it exists so you know to look for it. BBQ is fine because it's really easy to jump into a locker and most of the time it's stupid to even do that.
NOED requires you to do 5 bones and if you leave even one of them it doesn't even notify you until you've already went down in one hit. It's extremely lame compared to actual good and balanced perks with counter play.

You are not forced to take totem detection perks. But they help, when survivors struggle with finding totems.
You are correct on the nerfing principles, though. Ruin and Undying both were nerfed because of the lack of survivor skill to adapt.
NOED probably doesn't get the same treatment, because it has a special place in the heart of some designers, that constantly use it.
Yes I agree lol. I don't think NOED should be nerfed on a fundamental level. It just needs to be changed like how DS was changed, DS was too powerful.
-
@Verconissp said:
Maybe you can... ya know..
Destroy all 5 totems before you complete the last gen..?
it's to punish gen rushers,
"no reasonable counterplay". Of course you can do all of the totems but no other perk has ever required you to go so far out of your way just to counter it's ability. The only other one is old undying and they nerfed that because... It was too unreasonable of a counterplay!!

NOED doesn't reward bad killers. It punishes lazy survivors that only do gens. There are 5 totems, 4 survivors and 3 totem detection perks. So absolute no reason to complain about it.
Oh and Undying rewarded killers for not tunneling and camping. Since otherwise they wouldn't get any benefit out of Undying Ruin.
Now that Undying is trash, camping and tunneling is on the rise again. Congratulations, survivors played themselves when they wanted that nerf so hard.
But sure, keep asking about the NOED nerf. I'm sure you gonna love what comes when it really gets nerfed as survivors want.
No I am very much ok with the new Undying, I don't care about camping and tunneling at all. What I'm saying is that NOED goes against the principles on why BHVR nerfed previous perks. If they were consistent in their perk changing reasonings, then NOED should be changed. It's based on the survivor's skill in getting every single totem, it has nothing to do with the killer at all. They just passively get rewarded for the survivors being unable to complete an unreasonable objective.
I also don't believe that perks should exist just to counter other perks. It's really bad design in my opinion especially when it comes to RNG on what the killer would actually bring. Oh, I brought 3 totem perks to counter hex perks but the killer brought no hex perks. Now 3 of my perks are useless.
-

I have beat plenty of red ranks before even getting to end game just by focusing on easier survivors. The red ranks usually only get out to hatch or something if they manage it.
That is the problem with any team based game. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. You know?
Um yeah. What does that have to do with NOED lol.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2341058#Comment_2341058
They failed to do a side objective that takes a couple of seconds. How are they good?
What? You mean finding every single dull totem on a giant map with no communication with random survivors that can barely play the game just for the off chance that they run one perk that's so destructive you have to do every single dull totem? It's just not reasonable counter play. Most of my games are so close that there would be no way that we could do every totem. There are many games where Ruin and Undying is enough trouble for us as is. There's a reason they nerfed Undying, because it was unreasonable to have to do up to 4 totems just to get rid of a single perk. The same goes for NOED.
EDIT: They also nerfed Ruin because it was based too much on the survivor's skill in hitting great skill checks. They wanted to make it more based on the killer's skill. The same is going for NOED right now. It's based on the survivor's abilities to do every single totem, not on anything in the killer's power. Does that make sense?
-
Not that I want to speak for a mod but no it is not bannable. The game gives you the ability to customize your resolution so of course it would be fine.
-
This is why I don't prestige. I'm completely fine with keeping a character level 50. I even have a character with every single survivor perk in the game level 3 and that's only because I didn't prestige them lol. I only really prestige the characters if I would actually use their bloody cosmetic like Ash, Tapp, or Quentin.
-
Yo that's not cool. In my like 25 games today I had 2 killer rage quits and 0 survivor DCs. I definitely do not agree with this.

Nobody who uses NOED is worth my time. You also think SWF is unbalanced so you're literally using NOED on only solo queue players lol.
