Doesn't second wind deactivate when your already broken. And you become broken from deliverance

Second Wind does work with Deliverance. It just heals you after the broken status wears off

  • The correct answer is We'll Make It and Deliverance. Don't be the first person hooked and you pretty much get a guaranteed free unhook and self heal with Second Wind

Yes, very non-toxic. Now how many times do you think someone has left a salty comment on my profile about DOTA or CS:GO?

No fair. My profile has toxic comments but I only get maybe 1 or 2 per month if I'm lucky. You gotta share the toxicity I want some

"If a killer is trying to win, they have to focus on spreading pressure".

This is completely false. As bad as it is, tunneling one survivors out of the game is the quickest and easiest way to win.

I'm not sure what kind of red ranks you're playing in, but I want to join, because it's a non-existent heaven.

I guess I should preface this by saying I'm a Rank 1 Legion Main that prefers the Ruin/Undying gen slowdown combo. So if you can get a lot of map pressure you can pretty easily reset all the gens to zero. Basically injure a couple people and get a hook and pressure whatever gen you see on BBQ and that's the entire team not doing gens for a solid 30 seconds pretty much. Rinse and repeat. And if they decide to go on a totem hunt... that's also a lot time not spent doing gens

If I'm playing well, my games usually end at 3-4 gens with pretty normal gameplay. Between mending, healing, totem hunting and running across the map for hook saves the Survivors don't have a whole lot of time to sit uninterrupted on gens.

  • It's Legion ironically because looping in Frenzy is most similar to looping as Survivor since you can vault pallets and have a Survivor's vault speed. So they're probably the easiest to learn Killer on as a Survivor main. Plus, the tracking is some of the best in the game so you can find immersion gamers and have better map awareness in general with where everyone is with Killer Instinct.

Also, Legion lets you practice your traditional 115% M1 Killer skills as well because that's how actually they get downs. Basically, if you can play Legion well, you'll have most of the skills needed for every other Killer, but it won't be as punishing as a Killer like Ghost Face to learn. I'm a Rank 1 Survivor and a Rank 1 Killer and I played Legion almost exclusively to hit red ranks, so I'm kinda biased tho

Again, they aren't meant to be seen by everyone. They are meant for survivors to go to them, see they are blocked, and have to go to another gen that isn't. It's meant to slow the game down somewhat. That is the entire point. This is another hand holding that survivors do not need.

Again, I'm not suggesting everyone can see them. Just people with generator aura perks. I think its fine.

And also the point of blocked generators on Corrupt is more to corral the Survivors into a smaller area and than it is to waste their time searching for generators to work on. Ideally, if they only have a limited amount of generators to work on its much easier to patrol them to find your first chases

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632488#Comment_1632488

Doesn't matter. It's meant to waste their time.

Also - detectives hunch and maps are about to become very widely used, with Undying/Ruin being a thing.

Again, it's an unnecessary change. There's information survivors *are not* supposed to have until they actually see it up close. Next you'll want to know Devour exists at it's first stack, making it useless.

I'm not surprised you of all people is asking for more hand holding for survivors, judging by your previous discussions.

Technically, Survivors can already see blocked generators thanks to Cheryl's Perk: Repressed Alliance. So now there's actually contradicting mechanics surrounding entity blocked gens. They're not always unable to be seen by Survivors

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632439#Comment_1632439

    This.

Corrupt would be useless if it didn't waste a little bit of the survivors time.

The only Survivors that would see the Auras are people with Visionary, Deji Vu, Detectives Hunch and Maps.

None of those perks are very commonly used and maps are probably the least used item

  • It's kind of hard to test because the sounds will be the same for Survivors, the Killer would be the only one to notice the difference because they wouldn't hard to from as far away

  • No ED is literally just weaker Rancor.

Guarantees one extra kill in endgame if the other Survivors are smart and leave when they can't find the totem in time.

This is why I like running Open Handed + Visionary + Bond. I could be on a gen that I thought would help create division amongst the remaining gens, only for my perks to highlight that survivors are working on a nearby gen, and if I were to pop my current gen I’d be contributing to a 3 gen. So I can now instead quickly find a different gen.

Also, Kindred is extremely good with Open Handed. Although there is some overlap with Bond it might still be worth it. The range you can see the Killer from gives you loads of information. Plus, it helps make sure you get saved since sometimes solo queue teams can't coordinate very well

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1630916#Comment_1630916

Exactly. Like I said about Visionary, it doesn’t matter how experienced a survivor you are. Being able to quickly find gens, and plan which ones to repair next on Lery’s, Hawkins, Gideon, and Midwich saves HUGE amounts of time.

I think the best maps for Visionary are the ones that have chokes in the middle and most of the gens on either side. Suffocation Pit, Azarov's Resting Place and Sanctum of Wrath.

Knowing the distribution of those gens is crazy important because finishing one side too early in the match can be devastating.

  • @TheClownIsKing

Personally, I think there are better perks for that Aura build than Widows of Opportunity.

Namely, Better Together so teammates can get some information from you to coordinate better. (plus its secondary effect is budget Kindred so you'll get 10 seconds of map wide aura reading when a Survivor goes down).

Or Detective's Hunch because Hexes are becoming much more common since Undying released. And knowing where chests are is always nice.

  • Self-Care is totally fine if you have Botany Knowledge or Desperate Measures. As long as you camp the nearest pallet and try to waste as little time getting the heal off as possible.

But yeah self-care without a combo perk and hiding to use it blows.

  • Desperate Measures is about the same power level as Botany Knowledge (i.e. generally useful but not game-breakingly good)

  • You still need to 4k. 10 hooks alone won’t give you iridescent.

  • The problem is more that Killers have to run one of two specific perks OR hardcore slug and camp to create enough map pressure to keep Survivors off gens.

Perks like Overcharge and Huntress Lullaby probably need to be looked at to provide more viable options for gen regression perks. As well as the Devs looking to make more anti-gen perks in general

  • @Orion said:

Yes, it's wrong to abuse bugs.

It's literally just playing Hag normally and not respecting Decisive. I'm not doing anything to purposely activate the bug... I just know it usually happens on its own

  • They don't want a health chapter because everyone says they'd be fine with it... until it happens and all the new features are super bugged and broken and everyone hates on them for not polishing their game.

Imagine if cross play, hit validation and MMR had all dropped in the same patch instead of a chapter. The game would've been unplayable in so many senses of the word the community would've been fuming

  • @xerav said:

You lost me after reading -> Blood Echo ^^

I'm a man of culture what can I say?

(also red rank Survivors normally don't heal and just gen rush against Legion. Blood Echo is pretty much the only perk in the game can actually scare them into healing)

  • @ZCerebrate

Matchmaking for Killers is kind of all over the place. Once you're a Green Rank, you're in territory for loading into full Red Rank SWFs. Is it fair? Not really, but it happens a lot. My younger brother always complains about it because he's not playing against Survivors at his skill level and still expected to beat them with a whopping one DLC Killer unlocked.

As far tryhards, personally, I'm far past the point where they bother me. As Legion main, I actually like Object Players and Flashlight clickers because they give me easy Frenzy hits to help me find the weak links on the team with Killer Instinct. If someone's really better than you, ignore them, focus the rest of their team and one hook them at the end when everyone else is dead.

  • @dugman said:

I disagree, I think most of being a good killer is just being really good at the fundamentals like being able to do a footchase efficiently, knowing when to break off a chase and switch to a new target versus commit to downing someone, having a sense of what the survivors are probably doing and where they probably are, understanding the value of slugging versus when to hook right away, and so on. Add to that just being generally skilled with whatever specific killer you happen to be playing. (You can be solid in the game in a lot of respects but if you can't aim Deathslinger's rifle or blink accurately with Nurse you'll still lose.)

That's not to say perks make no difference. I think perks are kind of the tie breaker in a sense. If you're in a close match you'll be more likely to win if you have good perks and add-ons then if you just pick random ones. But you can win games with literally no perks or add-ons, streamers do it all the time even on killers who are not top tier, it's just harder to do.

It's maybe 50% perks and 50% skill against coordinated meta perk Survivors. I just did all my Adepts a couple days ago at Red Ranks. The amount of times I lost games because Wraith's perks are literally useless is over 20

  • @mintchapstick said:

You don't need those perks to be good at playing killer. Most of playing killer is learning when to chase/when to cut a chase, who to go after/when and how to predict survivors paths. You only need those kinds of perks once you reach red ranks. I have all of the DLC and I don't use any of those 99% of the time that I play & I've been red ranks.

... the perks i mentioned were Legion specific and don't make tons of sense on other Killers

I can give you a different example for whichever Killer you main. Just let me know

  • @AetherBytes said:

Perhaps a better way would be to remove the cursed warning, so when it gets reapplied people can go "Oh, so since that hex was dismantled and I have it again, undying is in play."

I don't actually think there's any delay after cleansing a Hex and it respawning. It's instant.

BUT that could be a nice nerf to the perk. Something like "the hex will transfer to an available dull totem after 10 seconds"

  • @AetherBytes said:

    Its because Undying is... odd.

The aura reveal is technically not tied to the hex, but to the perk itself which becomes deactivated when the hex is broken, whilst the hexes being relit are tied to the hex part of the perk. If that makes sense.

I think the best way to approach it is that once you cleanse a non-undying hex. You got the undying notification and the hex symbol is referring to undying instead of the perk you cleansed still being in effect.

So like your second hex ruin will technically be considered part of undying's hex

  • @CosmicParagon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1626462#Comment_1626462

No Aura reading perks have ever notified the player being revealed, there is no reason to change that now

I'm pretty sure that Hex: Retribution notifies everyone when its cleansed. Unless I'm remembering it wrong since its not an overly common perk

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Hexes only notify you when you're directly under their effects (Retribution's aura doesn't count because it tells you about the oblivious). Since Undying never directly affects a survivor, it affects the totems, there's no notification about the perk.

Best thing to do is to cleanse all dull totems. 2nd best thing to do is keep track of the dulls- if a dull turns into a lit chances are Undying is in play and you can play around it.

It actually does directly effect Survivors because it reveals their Aura while cleansing. It should at least tell you that. There should be a notification about it at some point

  • I'm a Rank 1 Survivor and unless I'm doing a specific build I don't even use items. They're ok, but definitely not needed to win.

If you really want good items just run Plunderers Instinct and save your bloodpoints

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1624806#Comment_1624806

I'm sorry, are you seriously suggesting that the killer who's only power is to turn transparent and Undetectable is not a stealth killer?

Yeah. Think about it. How many surprise hits do you actually get from Wraith? He's pretty telegraphed

Killers like Pig and Ghost Face legitimately jump scare me sometimes, Wraith only does with his Iri Add-on

  • @ShrekTheThird69 said:

    Blight is a better billy

If you have speed limiter, you're not wrong

  • @MadLordJack said:

I sort of see where you are coming from, but Wraith is also a stealth killer. Blight doesn't have that option just because he's so loud. Plus, as you said, Blight is much better in a chase and has much better mobility. I feel like a better comparison would be Demo, Billy, maybe even Oni and Nurse. All have out-of-chase mobility and in-chase power.

Wraith isn't really a stealth Killer. You can see him coming and he has a warning notification. His power is actually just mobility its not really stealth unless you're standing still and camping for the full invisibility or using the iridescent add-on. Otherwise the Survivors will always have a head start on you... which doesn't really scream stealth to me.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The undetectable add-on is trash because of how loud Blight is.

That's not really the point. The point is that Blight can travel the map faster and give them less time to react than ringing a warning bell and assuming they didn't see you coming before that (even though they usually do see you coming)

  • You can play fair as Killer after you're Rank 1 and Pips don't matter so much anymore just bloodpoints

  • I only pick up a Decisive because the game is going fast and I need a kill ASAP. Sometimes the pace of the game is too fast to hook everyone twice before getting a kill, so tunneling is a necessity

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It still baffles me some people discuss if Spirit is better than Nurse. She has a strong 1v1 and mobility, but her cooldown makes her suffer a lot on the 1v4 if survivors are spread out. A Nurse with BBQ and Infectious Fright is still the strongest killer in the game by far.

I'm 100% ok with that because as a Rank 1 Killer, my Nurse is barely serviceable. You've gotta be in like the Top .0001% of players to dominate on Nurse usually I'm happy with a 2k and I'm sweating the entire time

  • It's Spirit... when you know damn well she's just standing still because she's awful at actually using her power

  • Blight has amazing map pressure.... if you're good at hitting rush attacks to get quick downs. Like chases should last 15-30 seconds max if you don't want to get gen rushed. If you're not hitting rushes and being an M1 Killer, then of course he's losing gens

  • You gotta de-rank to Purple so you can afford to have one gold emblem. Perfect iredescents on most Killers is borderline impossible.

  • @StarLost said:

Okay. Verdict seems to be, just end it.

Going with that for now. Simplifies things.

If you just slug and turbo camp to end the game quickly, the best you're getting is brutal killer and the Survivors are de-ranking. So at least soft farm give them some chases and unhooks, maybe even make them feel like they're doing well so the eventual loss doesn't hurt them so bad. If you play it right you might even get ruthless or merciless Killer

If a Survivor DCs early, I basically just take off my tryhard pants and try to win as "fair" as possible. Being an ######### when there's a DC is just awful to play against and no one really wins.

  • The only issue is when Killers decide they don’t like people even if they’re not being toxic.

Like yeah I pallet stunned you five times in a row and chasing me basically threw the game because it took so long... but I didn’t BM or anything so why the facecamp?

  • @VSchmitt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1619570#Comment_1619570

Just lower to a smaller CD. No cd would be bad too (GF and Meyers could abuse it, as well as nurse, since most of the time you're getting downs really quick). OR, if the CD is kept, make the regression be a little bit higher? 10% ? 15 maybe?

Honestly, its hard to abuse even with no cooldown. Because Surge doesn’t apply to generators that are already regressing so it would only hit a generator multiple times if someone was working on a gen within 32m and continued working on it when another person went down

  • @[Deleted User] said:

At this point i'd give up on playing for the day....

You seem to be truly unlucky.

Nah. I'm just gonna play my level 35 blight and have fun with the new Killer instead of forcing myself to play an outdated Killer just because I have bloodpoint cakes to burn

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1619002#Comment_1619002

I like Wraith, I play him from time to time, one my favorite killers.

I'm more than able to play at red ranks with him so I come with my own builds, tactics and synergies.

I just wish he'd be 10-15% faster by default without relying so much on addons... I spend way too much BPs on Wraith's addons which is a turn-off for me.

Tried the build... it did nothing. I got midwhich (map offerering) with object players that body blocked hooks and abused the fact I was an M1 Killer with no chase power. They didn't fall for my tricks and just dropped everything the second I uncloaked

Lost Rank 1. I think wraith is just ass and not meant to be played in this game

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1618959#Comment_1618959

So run Spirit Fury + Enduring

I guess you also run BBQ + Pop / Ruin

So use an addon that helps you break things faster and the serpent addon to follow up, or use a movement speed addon. Up to you.

Honestly, I like your advice. I have all those perks so I'll probably put something together and see if it's easier to play

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1618941#Comment_1618941

Ever thought of running the addons that increase breaking speeds + Serpent brown addon that uncloaks you when you break a gen / pallet?

It's a very nice combination. Otherwise I'd use brutal Strength + serpent addon if you want to use a speed addon to move faster.

Super nice with zoning surviors or catching them off-guard.

Its probably like Spirit Fury and Enduring. It works once and then they play around it.

They don't drop a pallet until you uncloak and you get too close to the pallet they just stun you. That being said it might help with my early game chase so ill still try it

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1618919#Comment_1618919

Are u facing Tournament SWF or something? Otherwise I can't understand how all 4 survivors in the match play the same and they're all on gens.

What killer were you playing and what rank, i'm also curious about this.

Rank 1 on Wraith. Does that answer your question? I have cakes on him I have to use and its painful to play

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Alternatively, I see the survivor at the beginning of the game dropping all the pallets as myself investing in my future kills. Sure, it took me two minutes to take out the survivor cause I kept having to stop to kick pallets but when there are 2 gens left, survivors no longer have anything to drop on me. The tables will turn and they will turn fast as long as you're keeping your cool.

The ironic part is that if you take two minutes to down a Survivor, you'll be on two generators automatically. And something tells me that you haven't broken enough pallets to matter that much in that time

  • @HamletEagle yeah its an issue. if the game was balanced, the Survivors would run out of resources before the generators popped unless they looped their pallets well.

you really shouldn't be able to throw pallets early and not be punished because the game goes too quickly if the Killer can't get an early down

  • As a Rank 1 Survivor and Killer, Bloodlust is fine because it takes so long to kick in. If a Killer needs Tier 3 Bloodlust, it takes 45 seconds at least. Any chase that's over 45 seconds long is probably a sign that there's a massive Rank/Skill difference between the Survivor and Killer ngl

  • @Heartbound said:

I really appreciate Visionary's info a lot more than I thought I would. It lets you triangulate the killer since you know they're going to be on gen defense at the latter part of the game. It's definitely one of the more comfy ones.

Yeah. I've been liking Visionary a lot too. The game becomes a lot more predictable with that perk equipped.

1 … 19 20 21 22 23 … 32
