Survivors should be able to see blocked generators

When a Survivor has a perk or map that can show them generator Auras, they should be able to see which generators are blocked by them being highlighted white just like Killers can. In the current version of the game, you'll see the generator auras all in red even when they're blocked.

It would be a nice buff to Visionary, Deja Vu and Maps because you could soft counter Corrupt Intervention and have an early telltale if the Killer is running perks like Thrilling Tremors and Dead Man's Switch.

  • Yeah, that makes sense. It's a bit wierd we don't get that, since survivors get told almost everything else that's happening even without needing a perk or map.

  • You can see which gens are blocked.

By using your own damn eyes.

    This.

Corrupt would be useless if it didn't waste a little bit of the survivors time.

depends why you use it if you are using it to set up you might get an audience much faster or if you use it to push survivors toward a low speed killer it might be better

The only Survivors that would see the Auras are people with Visionary, Deji Vu, Detectives Hunch and Maps.

None of those perks are very commonly used and maps are probably the least used item

Doesn't matter. It's meant to waste their time.

Also - detectives hunch and maps are about to become very widely used, with Undying/Ruin being a thing.

Again, it's an unnecessary change. There's information survivors *are not* supposed to have until they actually see it up close. Next you'll want to know Devour exists at it's first stack, making it useless.

I'm not surprised you of all people is asking for more hand holding for survivors, judging by your previous discussions.

Technically, Survivors can already see blocked generators thanks to Cheryl's Perk: Repressed Alliance. So now there's actually contradicting mechanics surrounding entity blocked gens. They're not always unable to be seen by Survivors

Again, they aren't meant to be seen by everyone. They are meant for survivors to go to them, see they are blocked, and have to go to another gen that isn't. It's meant to slow the game down somewhat. That is the entire point. This is another hand holding that survivors do not need.

  • I would like to see this implemented.

Again, I'm not suggesting everyone can see them. Just people with generator aura perks. I think its fine.

And also the point of blocked generators on Corrupt is more to corral the Survivors into a smaller area and than it is to waste their time searching for generators to work on. Ideally, if they only have a limited amount of generators to work on its much easier to patrol them to find your first chases

I would say only one perk, the Cheryl perk, should see blocked gens. You don't need x amount of perks to counter one single perk. Just no.

Next you'll be asking for Detectives Hunch to tell you which totems are hex totems.

    LOL.

Why? So you guys can sit at the inactive gen and never interact with the killer? No thanks.

Survivors already have enough power as it is. This past month because of locked in crossplay I get nothing but sweats.

I just want to have a good time playing but I can't anymore with everyone going freaking try hard all the time.

It's getting to the point of quitting and giving DbD a bad review based on it's playerbase, which is ridiculous.

You people should just grow up and think before you just play " the way you want ". Because more often than not, people aren't wanting to be chased - they just want to do gens and leave.

  • Being honest survivor generator aura reveal perks are usually so weak that it would be a nice but situational buff to already under used and in all honesty underpowered perks.

I'm hesitant to give it to maps since they are powerful enough as is; especially the rainbow map.

It's intended. I have gone up against repressed alliance before and you can't see it's active via generator auras.

What’s funny is maps are way more useful than flashlights. Flashlights are actually almost worse than having no item at all because they distract you from the main objective of completing the generators and escaping and the more important secondary objective of cleansing totems to mitigate killer abilities and charge perks and healing to extend chases. Sure you sometimes manage to get a flashlight save, but it’s very inconsistent, especially against savvy killers who know to look at a wall or watch for flashlighters before picking someone up. And blinding at a pallet while the killer breaks it scores you a nice 500 points but doesn’t necessarily help you much since you’re not getting any distance by doing that. As a killer I actually like it when survivors have flashlights since I know they’ll be wasting a lot of their own time trying to use them.

Heck, with Hex: Undying plus Ruin being popular now I wouldn’t be surprised if Maps with the appropriate add-on become used more often to help find totems.

Yes. As a killer main half the time I can't find anyone until multiple gens are done because they all have urban and bnps.

  • I think it would be a nice buff to some aura reading perks.

And it wouldn't change the meta or anything, optimal survivors really won't give up their usual meta perks to be able to see blocked generators

This just makes non meta survivors more viable which is what we all want
