  • Depends on player's playstyle. Some newbies are super toxic for no reason with literally 0 skill in the pocket. I don't know where they took it from, probably some youtubers, but i'm always for make them suffer.
But if new player is just trying his best, i left him to endgame and will start to meme around with him. If he meme with me, i let him go, if not, he will be on hook. In this way, I want to remind new survivors that you should not take game too seriously.

  • @SoGo said:

It working only twice per game was too much of a nerf. Why even leave it as exhaustion perk then?

Maybe because it's still game changing perk? Maybe because Lithe after health state on button is stupid even on paper?

  • Honestly, on killer's side, it's sometimes a faster way to end the game because of... 4%. Someone jumps off the hook, picks up others and game stretches for another 5-7 minutes for no reason. But i'm not against bleed out option, but only in 2v1 situations and when all survivors are in dying state.

  • There is no Demo adept. It was changed to other achievement, where you need to kill all survivors with 3 common perks.

  • You guys acting like Nurse and Blight are the same, but they aren't. Blight is storng, but counterable. He doesn't ignore windows and pallets and your own skill means a lot against him. While against good Nurse there is literally nothing you can do, only hope she will do a mistake.

Nurse? No. But Blight is orienteer, yes. Strong and counterable chase power, good map pressure, good addon variety. So yeah, every killer should be like Blight.

  • Any Mean E tier? Kekw

  • I had a cheater that held game hostage and in post game chat he invited other survivors to join him "to make killers dc and suffer, because they deserve it". So many poor children in this community were traumatized badly by simply playing a game, lol.

    1. Most of players in this game have very low skill level and poor understanding of balance. Instead of actually learning something they want game to be balanced around them, instead of really getting better at their knowledge and skills. It amazes me that people with 3-6k hours can be so unaware of what they're playing at. I met killers who don't know how to mindgame with 5k hours, I met survivors who don't know how to watch at killer at chase with 5k hours and it shouldn't be like that.
It amazes me that some members here with thousands of posts ask to bring most unhealthy things back just because it was "fun" for them.
    2. Survivors are spoiled too much by previous state of the game and want bring back ez mode. Killers are spoiled by current state of the game and want ez mode by leaning game in killer side further. And this, unfortunately, is a consequence of first point.
    3. Game is in the best place it have ever been. Most stupid things on both sides are gone, both sides have a lot of help (and soloq got a bunch of very useful stuff, no matter how hard you try to turn a blind eye to it) to have enjoyable matches. Skill finally matters something in this game on both sides and i absolutely love it. Yeah, of course there is still a lot of work should be done further.

If we go about kill rates, then why don't we buff Nurse? Or why did we ever nerf her? Her kill rate is usually not that impressive compared to all other killers, yet so many of us seem to believe that Nurse is actually pretty good. Weird.

Kill rates do not paint a full picture. They only show that MMR, players, perks, maps and killer powers in combination resulted in certain numbers. Especially MMR is important here. Because MMR won't allow you to get anywhere where you lose all the time. Meaning, it's possible for a terribly weak killer (let's say Nurse without blinks) to still have a decent kill rate because they will only play against survivors that are on a level they can actually compete with. And let's be honest, Nurse without a power would definitely not be balanced.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3692607#Comment_3692607

That's a funny question. Would you believe me, if I said I had a 40% kill rate with Freddy? Would you believe me, if I said I had a 80% kill rate with Freddy? In order to answer your question sufficiently, we would need to provide proof, or else your bias (or own for that matter) would mean, that the answer could be discredited. And even then, that proof could easily be argued to be insufficient. No answer to your question would please you, unless it affirms your bias.

My response above also applies to you. Kill rates cannot really be used as a measure of balance anymore. Especially not with MMR because the matchmaking will correct anything out of the ordinary in due time. However because the individual killer MMR of a player is not completely unrelated to their MMR on different killers, we can sometimes make an educated guess that people struggle with the difficulty of a killer (when the numbers are way lower than they should be). That is not the case for Freddy though.

Anyone could play him and they wouldn't be confused with his power or waste time figuring it out. He is a very basic killer with not much depth and a rather straight forward power for the one playing him (not so much for the ones playing against him). So if you were a Clown main for example and you would switch to Freddy for the first time, chances are you'd perform pretty well because both share a lot basic mechanics. If you were to switch to Nurse however, you would probably struggle a lot because she is a completely different kind of killer.

An argument could also be made that Freddy attracts more experienced killer players than new players simply because he lacks so much originality. Pretty much everything he does, someone else does in better and his power doesn't have a lot of creative uses, so there is not much reason to play him aside from him being Freddy Krueger. Look at @GeneralV for example, who only mains Freddy because he was his favorite killer before the rework almost 5 years ago (you're a trooper, you know that?). Naturally these people would be pretty good at the game and have a lot of experience to utilise. The survivors they play against however, would not have that same experience because as easy as Freddy is to play as and play against, if you know his strengths and weaknesses, he becomes just as hard to play against when you don't.

I can't even remember the last time I played against a Freddy and I only know so much about his power because I like to play him (I guess some part of me likes to suffer?!). But what about the people that don't play him? They might know what his power does but they are likely to lack the experience to know all of his many weaknesses. Sometimes the threat of a power is stronger than the actual power itself.

We see the opposite on Blight. When you just start playing him, you will struggle with his power because it's quite hard to use (the exact opposite of Freddy) but rather straight forward from the survivor's perspective (again, the exact opposite). So naturally bad Blight players will have a harder time. On top of that, you also see that a lot of survivors, even ones that aren't that good otherwise know how to play against Blight simply because they have a lot of practice against him, due to his high pick rate.

I love how you try to reach someone with a huge texts. But it just seems to me that there is no point in explaining to someone that Earth is not flat. They'll either figure it out themselves sometime or not, but your words won't undermine their belief that Earth is flat. Direct these efforts to a place where they will make at least some sense.

As a guy who enjoys playing Onryo I say she’s perfectly fine as is and doesn’t need any changes as far as Ik. She’s finally in a healthy spot that doesn’t feel brain dead.

her lack of a chase power is perfectly compensated by having insane map mobility and built in slowdown.

Idk where you got the idea where she’s “map dependent” because her TV’s being next to every generator eliminates any Map rng since she can just teleport to every gen or at least close to a generator if the tv is off. The map rng you have to worry about is loops and to that you just play the game and try to outplay the survivor by cutting around loops and mind gaming all of which is just standard m1 stuff that people apparently don’t like to do. Onryo’s mind gaming is arguably better than most killers cause she can just phase in and out when using her manifestation.

I personally like to use her Teleport movement bonus to cut off survivors and end chases hella quick and it’s fun to come up in front of them suddenly slap them from the massive speed boost and while teleporting I also give survivors condemn and they may or may not need to leave gens regardless slowdown is slowdown and if I catch them with a tape then they will end up having stacks that will eventually lead to a condemn kill if their not careful.

Regardless her teleport is fun and manifestation mind games are fun so perhaps the killer is just not your type or you’re just not being creative enough with how you play.

I don't play her too much, but i agree with this.
I feel like she is good against average players, but against good swf… not the best, but not the worst killer either.
I wish take a tap will be more scary thing to do, but average Kate will die from Condemn every game and then come here and act like this killer has no counterplay "nerf she is op".
So yeah, she is nowhere near as awful as current Freddy.

He didn't say anything about 30-40 seconds, lol, it's some intentional lies from OP. No experienced player would make such suggestion in their right mind, even against a Nurse.

With rework of this system, this background was explained in order to reward for the efforts invested in this character before the rework.

Personally, I hate the fact that all characters after Nemesis (if I remember it correctly) don't even have the theoretical possibility of being rewarded for time invested in them.

I believe, reaching P100 also should be rewarded with this background.

  • Took more time to test it all many times.
Blight's C33: thank you. This buff open space for more addon combos and by itself it's not awful now. Should be released at this state. Removing hugtech is big L btw.
Clown: amazing changes. But can we decrease Antidote activation to 1,5s please? It will create so much more situations, where you can express skill and use both bottles to outplay some places. And Pinky Finger just need rework, it is awful now.
Demo: good, but he feels the same. Hope he will get more than this soon. At least addons and portals could see some work with.
Doctor: good changes, but he is kinda in the same place, just less addon dependent.
Hag: still waiting for 4,6 Hag. Still hate her gameplay.
Huntress: great changes! I know you guys read a lot of crying about her, but stay strong. Especially since you didn't buff her m2 movespeed, she is the same killer as before, just slightly smoother. I still heavily believe that speed with hatchet shouldn't be reverted completely and we can see something in between. At least give her Shiny Pin basekit please. Maybe she might have 6 hatchets in basekit instead?
Pig: firstly i thought it's great change, but to be fair, now i think that ambush is almost the same. Crouch > leave loop > repeat. It definately more useable in more loops, but overall it's the same experience. Please consider add 5% speed to ambush, or prolong it slightly further.

I don't think this would delete tunneling to be honest. If a survivor plays reckless and makes themself vulnerable to tunneling, then these perks will barely delay the killer.

I agree with that second part though. There isn't a reason to spread hooks other than activating some perks but what if I play without the few perks that do that? Then suddenly I have no reason at all to spread hooks. So either they need to add a base kit incentive or a lot more perks that work like that.

My bad, for some reason I thought that you suggested make survivor untouchable before Cons Actions. With 10 seconds and other points, i agree with that. If there were some basekit incentive for spreading hooks, it might be buffed to 15 seconds even.

  • @Xernoton said:

With the upcoming buff to DS we are going to experience a higher pick rate of this perk. This will also lead to more players using it the way OTR was used right after the buff. We have seen this exact issue before, so this is not a theory but a fact.

There have been arguments about whether or not to fix these issues and how effective the aggressive use of these perks is. However, the existing anti tunneling measures have some flaws as well. So I suggest a fix to both of these:

    1. Base kit BT (maybe the perk too?) grants complete invulnerability to killer powers and attacks but removes the survivor's collision with the killer. This allows that survivor to get away from the killer without getting hit right off the hook and increases the strength of OTR but also removes the cases in which survivors force the killer's hand by bodyblocking.
    2. DS and OTR additionally grant you Bond's effect for as long as they remain active but both deactivate on protection hits, so you can't use either of them for bodyblocks. Some adjustments could be made to the protection hit mechanic to make it more consistent without gutting either DS or OTR. That could also make MoM a slightly more reliable perk.
    3. Flashlights and flashbangs cannot be used until a conspicuous action was performed or the duration of the perks has ended. They don't help against tunneling anyway and this also removes the possibility of survivors trying to use their anti tunnel perks to safely get a flashlight / flashbang save on their team mates.
    4. Anti tunnel perks can only be active on up to 2 survivors at once to ensure that we don't create weird situations in which the killer goes for different survivors but is then punished regardless for playing too well.

This would increase the existing protection against tunneling, make different anti tunneling perks more viable (although OTR could increase the speed with which you are healed by 50% for as long as it remains active to not be overshadowed by DS) and prevent the issue of anti tunneling perks used aggressively.

What do you think of these suggestions?

Yeah, good idea in vacuum, but with deleting tunneling, we will see some astronomical killers buff in few month. Comp DBD will… i don't even know, survivor will play perkless on every tourney?
Spreading hooks should be rewarding strategy first of all, before even DS buff. Hit and run should be viable again, and stupid Magled/Haem nerf should be reverted. And only then we can deal with the consequences.

  • It not extremely common these days, but it was back in the days before 6.1.0. And it was super unfun.
Buff DS without giving killer alternative strategy, especially with the fact all others strategies are killed, and do nothing about weaponizing it – super stupid decision. No doubt it will have backfire few patches after.

Stupid level of oppression in chase isn't anything special or even actually "opressive" in this game, stupid level of movement speeds are.

There is few of killers who are absolutely good at chase, but none is top tier maybe except nurse.

Sadly yes, to have super strong chase power not enough to be strong killer. Clown is extremely oppressive in chase, but he is barely consider as a mediocre killer. Chucky has probably most oppressive chase after Nurse, but he is still nowhere near her level.

I would say map pressure is very important thing in current DBD, and this is biggest DS weakness.

  • 4,6 m/s, Warden Keys and Prison Chain basekit, addons rework. @LatexT did a very good suggestions about his addons.

  • Survivors:
    1. Yun-Jin
    2. Dwight
    3. Yui
    4. Nea
    5. Probably all others

It will be hard with killers, but i will try to be accurate:
    1. Blight
    2. Artist
    3. Oni
    4. Clown
    5. Trickster (back in the days i played him a lot, but i barely touch him last 2 years)
    6. Knight
    7. Bubba
    8. Pyramid Head
    9. Nemesis
    10. Nurse or Plague maybe? It can Demo or Wesker either

As a frequent hag (I'd say probably my 2nd main), please no. She is already in a really, really good place, especially after the buffs. Her killrate sits almost perfectly at bhvr's goal killrate. If it isn't for you it isn't for you (or anyone else), but it is for me and other hag enjoyers and that's okay. In general I'd rather they not 4.6ify all the killers at all tbf, it is a huge balancing task, comes at the cost of the m2 strength, and homogenisation like that just kills identity.

Also, frankly with the way I play Hag, I have never triggered the 3 gen mechanic despite playing an area (I do whilst playing other killers and playing the entire map though, but that's a tangent rant not related to Hag).

What if they won't touch m2 strength and will make her 4,6?

You don‘t need to attack me!

Then you also agree with me that lightborn shouldn’t give immunity to blinds, otherwise your whole point makes no sense, because it‘s the exact same.

Of course, 100%! Like deny whole killer power is same importance thing as you can't blind killer. If killer can't use his power, it's not that big deal, he still can m1 you, but if survivor can't blind killer, it's insta lose. Like you can't do gens without blinds, can't loop without it, without this interaction survivors are useless.

Let's say it had the potential for depth, but not in the way it was introduced back then. Because in Hags case you really only had to use the flashlight for fractions of a second to remove the trap and perform well in that sense, whereas against Nurse for example you needed to be good with the flashlight to achieve something... I have nothing against killer specific items, but they should be done well and offer some learning experience so you need to learn how to use it properly, like flashlights against Nurse, and not just be a button to disable a killers power.

Yeah, like i said, Nurse flashlight interaction was only fair thing. Because it take a lot of skill and there is no real counterplay to good Nurse. But there were no excuses for every other interaction. Artist was nightmare to play against flashlight. I definitely wouldn't be playing for her now if it stayed. Wraith was nightmare to play against flashlight. And Hag against swf was just funny circus for them.

I think Otzdarva likes Hag actually, don't know often he plays her, but as far as I know he put her up on his tierlist of "like to play as". Then we have Supaalf I think it was(?) who did a chase Hag win streak with the movementspeed addon. And then is this German Hag main Michi I think, no clue if he still plays though.

I watch Otz a lot, but didn't see he played her often. Only after patch.

Supaalf yeah, i watch him as well, but it's chase Hag, and it's different killer tbf.

Disagree, it added some depth to the game and it gave some counterplay against killers, where you had none. In hags case it was better to have lightburn than a basekit counterplay.

Oh, yeah, of course, depth. You know what added depth in the game? Old Eruption. I'm sure you liked it a lot only because it added depth to the game. Who care how broken it is, if it added mythical "depth". Like should someone complain about not able to do anything within 25 seconds because killer bring perk? Of course no, it added depth. Should someone complain about not able to use his power because someone can deny it by clicking on it with flashlight? Of course no, it added depth. Strong argument, you make me change my mind.

(But Nurse interaction should have stayed, no jokes)

I hate when playing her that I have to set up traps all game and then they just get swiped away :(

I actually think she is pretty strong, but I don‘t like placing traps. Bringing back lightburn instead of the swiping of traps would make her better I think. I also don‘t think she needs 4,6m/s, but it would be interesting if they test 4,5m/s.

Flashlight interaction was one of the stupidest things in the game. Hey, killer, i bring flashlight, so your power doesn't exist anymore.

    Nah, never.

  • Why even bother? I had "-rep tunneler" in profile from dude, who died first being 7th hook in the game after two different people were hooked. So many players are just babys, who can't accept the L. Don't even waste your time on this.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/409249/make-hag-4-6-already

People have the 500 sub thing for hag because they hate playing her, not because she is weak... Many people also have that for skull merchant, despite that killer not being weak, they just don't like the playstyle the killer supports, which is fair. I never particularly like playing her or playing against her, but she used to be super easy to win with when I started playing the game, you could even run her perkless, just because nobody had a clue what do do against her, but when you do the same as with trapper, dedicate one person to disarm traps, she is somewhat alright to deal with. It is just that every Hag you will encounter just plays the same boring playstyle as basement trapped.

I'm didn't say people don't play her because she is weak. So many players hate playing her for a reason. SM has some fans, mains, enjoyers, Hag just doesn't exist at this point.

As i said above, with 4,6 and some another buff, i agree. With 50% of her strength in camping (what doesn't work against swf and good players anyway), it won't be enough.

  • Yeah, that's what I said on PTB feedback. Without these addons Pig's dash remains basically same as before.

Honestly, that buff has its merits and demerits, and Hag's downfall in the first place was because the traps could now be erased by the survivor at will, so unless something is done to change that, she will remain the same as she was before.

And by the uninformed, Hag has been made into a poster child for camping and tunnel loving killers. As long as these beginners make up the majority of the playing population, it is best not to expect significant buffs from dev.

I don't think removing traps is a reason for this.

And i even agree to remove ability to trap hook in 10 meters if she will get some serious buffs on other hand.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/409114/eruption-update-suggestion

Year, Eruption is in a weird spot in my opinion because you have to give two genregressiontokens and to take the little risk (not a huge) that you won't get the regression because the survivor pop the generator faster than you thought/a down takes longer or the survivor forgot the generator and Eruption does nothing. You also have to make the choice if apling Eruption is really worth/you have the time.

Don't get me wrong, Eruption is still a good perk, especially on mobility killers that also get downs quickly like Nurse, Wraith, or Xenomorph, but it would be great if it would do more regression. I agree with @fussy idea of how to buff Eruption:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3684065#Comment_3684065

The issue with your idea @jesterkind is that the missing 5% from the normal kick could make the different between getting Eruption value or not.

In general, I kinda miss the old genkickingperks in CoB and CO (but not old Eruption that was so stupid). Their nerf back than was good, especially when looking at old-Skull Merchant, but now with the 3Gen-Mechanic, I think these perks could get back their old power and would be healthy. Same with Hex: Ruin it would be better if it's deactivate when one survivor is dead but does 175%regression instead of 100%). They could also open more diversity in case of gencontrolperks for killers. But this is off topic and just random thoughts from me.

Yeah, that's what i'm about. Eruption is risky, because it's easy not to get value at all from it, especially on a hot gen. Just remove 5% will make it even more risky, and at least it should be rewarded more.

  • I hope it's not another cool thing which available only for devs

    @fussy You getting your wish

I appreciate that, but I don't have much to say. Of course, I can write a long text about how much and why I love her, but I don't have much experience against her, because I've met 2 good Bird Ladys in last year (and 4-5 overall). It is extremely small amount to have strong opinion.

  • I really hope they will change at least EMPs. I really want to play this killer, but every match there are all biopods always disabled, you need slipstream survivor 2,3 and sometimes 4 times per chase, and even if they just get rid of slipstreams, in 10 seconds they ALREADY have another EMP in their hands. It's just miserable to play as, like half of the match you're just trying to be able to have power.

  • I had thought just to make it 15% since it eat 2 regression events per 1 use. Removing 5% from kicking will make this risky perk even more risky and i doubt someone will bring it. Imo, or it should be 20% with your suggestion, or just buff it to 15%.

  • It's okay, back in the days i was sure Doctor is op and strongest killer in the game. You will learn.

  • No, i don't. I can say what addons he has almost always just by seeing him rushing few times. Both Iri are extremely easy to recognize. Double speed now noticeable from the both side only after 3rd-4th rush. Alc Ring? Well, you need duration so rarely that you can not notice this addon for half of the game easily. Adren? Garbage addon, doubt you will see it without C33 at least.

And i don't think he has S tier addons. Iri are strong, no doubt, but there is no window to make them weaker. Make Iri Tag 10% and it will be almost not noticeable, nobody will run it. With C33 i don't even see a problem at all. It could help you land a hit sometimes, but only 3 tokens is a huge downside also, which steal your hits also. Thanks g they buff it, this addon was awful with 2 tokens.

And variety of addons is good, not bad. Every killer should have big pool of good addons, what sadly is not the case most of the times.

But it's not facts. Most people find her oppressive and very unfun. She should be changed.

She is fine and even week whe you don't ignore her counterplay - fact.

People exaggerate about her more than she deserve it, because of biases from past they don't want to refuse - fact.

She is not that hard in the chase, there are at least 10 killers, who is more annoying and leave way less counterplay - fact.

Be honest with yourself and accept that exactly this killer will be "fine and fun" only when you can completely ignore her counterplay and won't be punished for it, and in chase she will be Trapper level.

Ohtufu is only one person. He said an opinion that aligns with killers where the game is only fun for one person. He said no facts.

And that's why he saying it after match AGAINST her? Opinion based on many matches AGAINST her? At least biased comments like this make me laugh, even if there is 0 sense in them.
