Keep Iron Will and Lightweight, but replace Premonition with Lightfooted, and also put on Low Profile.
You basically leave zero trace, and if you are in a situation where the killer decides to slug for the 4k, 90 seconds of no scratch marks from Low Profile can really save matches at points, it's a situational but fun build to run that I really enjoy.
Ah yes, indeed. I can see how it can be quite difficult to track. I'll keep that one aside for another match. Thanks. π

try this build β¦ No mither - resilience - weaving spiders - dead hard
if you are in premade, ask for someone bring distortion (it will serve to warn you if the killer has vision perk)
object: a good toolbox + brand new part
offer: Bloodied blueprint OR Torn bluprint (you will need it to find basement immediately)
this combo is SO ILLEGAL π€£
This looks like a powerful build, but a double-edged sword too (one health state only : no many mistakes allowed).

What? I don't talk about 4% escapes in first stage.
And if player gives up on first hook, they would be useless in game anyway. So not really any value in keeping them there. You just risk they will actively try to sabotage their teammates.
The first stage part was about your reply. Forget about the first stage.
That's reportable and bannable.

Replacement with bots is just a hot fix when survivor miss two skill checks in second phase.
I don't think there is better solution.
I understand what you say, but basically it's a "free" attempt at 4% to be replaced by another player (a bot is still a player)
So basically the killer is penalized for the 4% attempt, fail or win.

Why not both? Your fix is for first stage, my fix is second stage give up.
I was only speaking about the suicide-on-hook phase.
That being said, attempting the 4% on the first phase will reduce the wait by 2 minutes so maybe both phases should be disabled.
Honestly I'm not too sure about what solution is best. I only know replacing suicide by bots isn't it. (And I perfectly accept mine isn't either.)

The point is, BHVR is obviously never seeing tunneling as a "miserable" or anything, and the chances are they aren't even thinking it is that common, results in literally no fix coming
The boringnes of tunneling has been stated repeatedly, even from killers too, but BHVR literally has no interest in ACTUALLY "fixing" this problem
Maybe because it's not really a problem. It's not really that common. (Except from the point of view of people who do not understand what tunneling actually is.)

The only way BHVR will care is if survivors start quitting en masse and killer queues go up to 10 minutes. They've made it very clear they want the game to be ez mode for killers.
Usually when people say "killer is ez mode" someone just asks them to play killer, pass the winnings of the baby pool and then see how easy they have it when they go against competent survivors.
For some reason, none of them came back with a winning streak.

@VomitMommy said:
Survivors in general? Not really, I don't have any issue when we play SWF, soloQ on other hand...
We just need soloQ focused changes. Show wiggle meter, show other survivor's perks in the game (not lobby), replace suicide on hook survivors with bot.
Some feature to let you die faster against bleed out could work too.
I don't think current balance killer vs survivor needs any basekit buff/nerfs. It's just QoL features for survivors, specific killer changes and perks.
Disable suicide on hook. Replacing with bot would mean a survivor can attempt a 4% and if he fails, the team still has a bot.
-
I'd not call that "us vs them", I'd call that plain old biased.
It's funny that OoO is extremely strong against the combo but very few people think/know about it.
-
There have been videos about this. The killer had huge trouble catching the survivor as the latter had constant "wall-hacks" on tiles.
Found the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmDLt2S0veI -
Another reason using Distortion is good is that it's a huge advantage against a certain kind of Nurses. (e.g. me)
But it's better if all the team got Distortion because the ones without it may get found and chased more often.
-
Given that most people don't even know what "tunneling" means, yeah, I'd say they are not to be trusted.
Tunneling = killer having a tunnel-vision for one survivor to chase and hook him even if it's at the killer's disadvantage. (e.g. full health and speeding away when another survivor is bleeding right next to the killer)
It seems for a lot of people tunneling means "the killer chased me too often", without any regard for other chases others went through.
-
Tunneling has also a factor of "even if going for another survivor benefits the killer" (tunnel vision)

I don't follow the herd, I make my own decisions, always have and likely always will. I have enough experience to formulate my own thoughts and considering how unpopular some of my takes are, it's rather silly to think otherwise lol.
Also, nice shot at my age, which you don't know and has no relevance to the discussion.
It's not a shot. We spoke about this a few years ago (not many). You were seventeen at the time (if I recall) and I complimented you on how you discussed in an much more mature way than your age back then would suggest.
Have you forgotten?
I don't remember when it was exactly (time flies way too fast for me, at most 3 years) but I expect you are about nineteen give or take.
I'm not eager to browse my post history to find the discussion back. It doesn't really matter in the end.

But if the las survivor is truely the last survivor they can't 4%.
It's a sequence: he 4% right before the slug dies.
This was a rethorical question anyway.

How would you even hook the last Survivor twice, doesn't make sense.
Just because you're ashamed of tunneling doesn't mean my definition isn't valid.
Not my job to convince you though.
e.g. He 4%, a slug dies, he's chased and hooked again.
And I'm not a kid, in case you don't remember, I'm not "ashamed" of any play or move.
I believe you aren't a kid anymore either (even if not for long) so I expect you should start getting the concept of not caring about following the herd.

It is still tunneling.
Deserved? Sure.
Same thing as camping in this scenario.
You hook someone and see two people near the hook. Obviously, you aren't gonna leave and let them have a free unhook. Are you camping? Yes. Is it a bad thing in this scenario? No.
No, it's not. π
Let's be serious.
If the survivor forces the killer's hand, the "focusing on one survivor against one's own benefit" factor is clearly missing.
"Tunnel vision": it's a pretty simple concept really.
Next time you'll say going against the last and only survivor twice in a row is tunneling π€£
Anyway β¦
-
Just a reminder.
Tunneling implies tunnel vision, as in "working to kill a survivor out of the game against the killer's own interest". (e.g. ignoring a closer survivor and wasting time to find the "obsession")
If a survivor body-blocks I make a point showing him the errors of his way. Usually once is enough.
That's not tunneling, not even a little.

I mean survivors bleeding out because they moved away and don't get found quickly enough is not your fault, it's their own fault because no one can stand up and there's not really a reason to make the killer lose you otherwise. Slugging at itself is perfectly fine as long as you at least plan to hook them (swfs that send you on badham are their own case, they want you to suffer so they shall be suffering too).
Yes, unless some specific situation prevents it, there is never any good reason not to hook slugged survivors.
I believe BHVR is working on a way to fix this corner case. Either by automatically giving the win to the killer, either by allowing survivors to concede. (And who knows, maybe also to allow the killer to concede.)
-
Well done! π
I'd suggest you do a better job at hiding that name though.
- The first name is obvious.
- The last name can be guessed among a small subset quite easily.
The "smudge" function of the program called "Gimp" usually does the job for me.

Yes the chances are high, there aren't a lot of killers that could 4 man slug with 5 gens on midwich xD
That indeed looks like one of my typical (Nurse) plays on Midwich. Sometimes survivors are together and linger around while I'm downing them one by one.
Obviously, the correct play for them would be to run as far away as possible instead of waiting for their turn.
I blame the matchmaking, really.
While I'm slugging, some are moving away and by the time I've finished, I only know where the last slug is.
At that point I'd hook the one though.
There is no reason not to.

Yeah, those stats that have no evidence to back them up, that basically just say "the game is balanced and the devs are doing a pretty good job so far", the stats that don't align with actual experience of any killer player, sure, those stats are an argument.
Do you understand the concept of statistics?
They are accurate, they represent an average of all players.
You, your friends, even everybody on this forum, aren't representative of the whole community.
As far as I'm concerned, I'll slug and bleed out, sometimes even the whole team, if it's necessary.
I don't feel the need to justify what I do though. Survivors have lots of ways to prevent hooking and often try to hide. (I often slug to go after whoever else is present.)
It doesn't happen too often though.
Sometimes I even immortalize the moment with a screenshot for Steam with a comment like "That survivor made sure she couldn't be hooked : she won.", with her limp body at my feet. π
-
It just occurred to me. Are you sure the gens were regressing?
It's not uncommon for a killer (especially a beginner) to not fully kick a gen by incorrectly relying on the animation instead of the sparks.
-
If you are right then it's a bug.
When I kick the gens too many times (8?) I can't kick them anymore afterward.
-
During the event, I've tried to let live as many survivors as there are >100% BP offerings.
They don't always make it easy though. Sometime they die despite my best efforts. (When they don't rage-quit with their first hook.)
-
I'd remove self-unhooks : no more easy giving-up.
-
Pro: it's a winning tactic.
Con: none
I don't tunnel unless gens are done in parallel but let's be serious: there is nothing weighting against doing it.
The only reason I usually don't do it is to challenge myself I like hooking survivors after each other.
-
What I usually have is half good/half bad survivors but there are several kinds of bad.
During the event I try to play (too) nice, but good survivors often die because the bad ones aren't doing their jobs (e.g. unhooking)
That annoys me enough to kill these bad players.
Thankfully there are also bad players who will unhook when they should try to stay alive. I try to be pretty lenient with these ones.
-

You'll have that. Another thing they can't fathom is when you're playing the event for points and are trying to clown on you because the last one got the hatch.
I had this once. Thankfully it's extremely rare.
-
Insidious is wonderful to give jump-scares.
Just wait in a corner next to a gen and see them panic when they run into you.
-
Play her a bit more.
Soon enough you'll find survivors quite easily able to deny your power.
-
β¦ have an unbiased and rational discussion about such or such aspect of the game.
/S π€
-
As killer, I always say "gg", win or lose.
If my opponents have displayed any kind of skill, I'll add a "wp" for good measure.
And if more than one of them showed skill, I'll top it with an "all".
If anybody doesn't like it, he's free to close the chat and should probably endeavor to toughen up.
When I play survivor I seldom say "gg" as I tend to die early and I'm not about to wait for several minutes to salute my teammates and my opponent.
-
It occurred to me β¦ can Nurse walk on Trapper's traps?
She is supposed to be floating.
How "exposed" work? Is it per killer or for both killers?
-
Nurse and Doctor because Doctor helps locating survivors so Nurse can down them.
-
If you can't laugh it off, you'll have trouble.
These tactics are completely fine.
The only tactic that's considered wrong is to block somebody "forever".
Sandbagging another survivor is usually clumsiness. If it's clearly on purpose it's reportable (with video).
-
The game has often been dubbed "Pallet City", so I guess you aren't the only one.
M1 killers really struggle on that map.
-
Yesterday, had a few cases where a survivor turn a corner and suddenly : no noise, no blood, no scratch marks.
I've managed to kill them in the end so I don't think they were cheating. I'm guessing that's what the "quiet mode" does.
It's bloody stupid.

You could do that to any survivor in any game, regardless if they are running a perk you don't like or not, it's your choice
Just don't blame survivor for being too OP when you lose a game
Blame? Who's blaming? I'm not blaming anybody. Do you blame your opponents for their play style? That would be weird.
And I didn't lose a single match tonight. I always have Lethal Pursuer so I knew right from start of the trial. It didn't took me more than a couple of seconds to decide what to do : chill off.
These Distortion survivors were playing pretty immersive. So instead of hooking the team round-robin style, like I always do, I've killed anyone I could see immediately. It was weird to have the first kill at 4 gens but, hey, I'm not in this game for hide-and-seek.
I suspect this sudden surge of Distortion happened because of that Otzdarva video. It used to be pretty rare so far.
My point was : survivors can use anything they want : Distortion, four of the biggest toolboxes, an awful map β¦
There is always a proper counter.
-
I went against Distortion in every single match today.
I even had a team will four Distortions.
From now on, when I find a survivor with Distortion, I ensure he dies fast.
-
I'd do the same if it wasn't for a small problem.
I'm horribly competitive.
I play chill but if the survivors are playing sweaty, I can't help but answer to their challenge.
-
-
Funny. I've played a bit as killer yesterday.
I was pretty chill but I found survivors to play extremely sweaty.
Obviously, I answered in kind and kept playing hard for the next two hours.

Agreed, zero fun for survivors and the killer. I have 1,000+ because they are so lame.
I've got a bunch too.
I've used them once and I felt ashamed of myself.
-
Take the one mechanic that worked in VHS:
If the killer and the survivors aren't interacting for too long (say 5 minutes) their auras are revealed to each-other to remedy the problem.
-
Iridescent Hatchet.
-
It's what usually happens to every new killer, usually after about two weeks.
By now, everyone buying a killer on release should expect the bait & switch.
-
About 1 every 10 games suicide on hook.
And maybe another 1 every 10 games gives up early, usually in a situation like 4 hooks with 5 gens left.
-
I don't think it's true.
I've never ever encountered a player behaving like a bot. (Bot have a very obvious tell.)
Like an idiot, yes, but that's not the same.
-
I wonder how many of these people also attribute their wins to someone being busy deranking?
Not many I bet.
