  • I don't agree with your explanation of the Nurse encounter. (But it's about 2:30 AM, I'm not entirely awake, I hope I got it right.)

360 are very efficient against a Nurse, especially if they are timed right. (Good mechanical skills required.)

Placing oneself right behind the blink landing and turning with the Nurse works pretty well too. (Requires good mechanical skills though). Remember that one of the changes of the Nurse was that survivors see the Nurse landing before the killer does.

The way I see it, a Nurse playing survivor has high survival chance against any Nurse less skilled/experienced than he is.

That's how I explain I survive most of the Nurses I verse and that was in a nutshell how survivors I couldn't catch explained it to me.

(I have a far lower survival rate against any other killer.)

For example, since you know how the Nurse thinks and how she is trying to influence your moves, you can fake falling for it and doing something she would never expect.

Pretty much the exact same from my experience. I haven’t lost yet as killer though even with a very bad duo. I have an insane amount of hours on Huntress and she definitely cooks in this mode so I can hard carry most of the time. I did have a tie twice though because two of my killers were AFK.

That's pretty good. When grouping with a beginner (a friend) we've never managed to get more than 3 kills.

  • There has been one to two healers in all my games.

So, if I'm ready this correctly, if balance is represented as a neutral smell, roses represent a skilled killer and a bag of farts represents an unskilled killer, combining the roses with a bag of farts results in a balanced match?

If by unskilled you mean newbie level, I'd say no. Anything with a newbie is a loss.

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

It’s mainly survivors goofing around being the reason they lost. I win 7 matches in a row all 6-8 man outs, lost one game where only two of us got out thru hatch and then won 3 or 4 more in a row 5-8 man outs. All of the killers were in the thousands of hours range. Except a few I couldn’t check. It’s really much easier to win in 2V8 vs 1v4 imo.

You are not wrong. I've switched to survivor and if I escape about 2/3 of the matches, most of the ones I die is because about half the team is … how shall I put it … not exactly stellar.

    As in …

    • Missing skill checks
    • Not healing after rescuing
    • Never taking a protection hit

    …

Whereas all the games I've survived the players had at least the basics right.

But on another hand, I've won every killer match where both killers were at least decent and lost every killer match where one killer was a beginner. We are far from the about 66/33% of my survivor experience.

I've versed all killers now and the most terrifying one is Huntress IMHO. Trapper is pretty dangerous too.

I've loved the killer team work btw. Getting downed by a running Billy who intercepted me at the end of my hit-sprint was beautiful.

There were several Nurse but none experienced enough to get me. (As a Nurse main, I tend to know how to break a chase)

A bit too bright for me, but great too.

  • You lose in 5 minutes? That's kind of a feat.

I've yet to lose a match as killer and I've only played with randoms so far.

In my experience, matches last about 10 minutes.

I've found the best way to deal with nurse is to have a scout constantly follow them so that every survivor starts running well before she gets in range. Even as a solo, once I started doing this I noticed my teammates stopped getting hit as she teleports onto a gen.

It is not perfect, but most nurses if they don't see anyone immediately they will rotate to another gen rather than hanging about.

I confirm this could work against my Nurse.

However they need to be far enough from the gen when I kick it otherwise I'll chase.

I've played so much killer I don't remember anybody I chase there's so many of you like ants I genuinely can't keep track who's who

    Exactly.

Ergo : tunneling isn't happening, only bad luck.

  • Survivor sided?

I've won (as in : 7k or 8k) every single killer game I've played (even with Trapper) and I'm not even playing well at the moment (got a cold).

  • It's worse than too long.

45 minutes ago I went into a lobby after a 15 minutes wait, then I got disconnected from the lobby.

I've yet to join another lobby and I won't as I've just lost my patience.

Tunneling does happen in this mode as well. I’ve seen it happen multiple times to my teammates. It’s not exactly the best strategy but it does still happen from time to time.

Tunneling means that the killer has tunnel vision on a survivor.

When tunneling, a killer will only chase one chosen survivor and that survivor only until he's dead. He'll ignore every other survivor until the chosen one is out of the game.

It is simply not possible in this mode.

Yes, I understand, I was agreeing with you.

Yeah, Slugging for a little bit to get a couple of hits off of nearby Survivors is fine. However, Slugging people for over a minute at a time has no real benefit apart from annoying people. Allowing people to pick themselves up without a speed increase would allow the first, but prevent the second. It takes a pretty long time to recover to full.

It really does suck that people are playing in a way like this. It's an edge case for sure, but one that should be looked at.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3767677#Comment_3767677

If bleed out wasn't intended, it wouldn't exist.

I don't know where you get this idea from, there are plenty of instances where BHVR have made an oversight on something that has then been patched out.

Just because something exists doesn't mean it was intended.

Bleed out exists because otherwise survivors could "hide" forever.

Using it on purpose to kill was probably not intended.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

If they really want to help with killer queue times in 2v8 they should give guaranteed 25k bloodpoints plus 400% BP earned during the trial. 400% of 5k still isn't worth the time as a survivor.

My survivor opponent get more than 20 most matches.

Bar one unfortunate exception, most survivors have a decent life expectancy. (The exception being a survivor who was unfortunate enough to be "unhooked" next to me twice and went from 0 to 3 hooks in 90 seconds or so.

  • I'd win all games with an uncomfortable margin if they had ten gens to do.

Eight gens is almost too much.

  • I haven't lost one game tonight, even as Trapper.

The closest I got to losing was with 1 gen left. I need to say I wasn't even playing that well. (We all have good and bad days : this was a bad day.)

Usually the survivors start strong but once the "hooks" start to pile up, their speed crumble.

Taking into account tactics will improve, 8 gens was a very good choice from the devs.

From the few times I was able to speak with survivors in the chat, everybody is loving the mode, win or lose.

    I'm having a blast.

You said there's a basekit unbreakable. It only applies on the last cage state. Nvm you were talking about reasons to slug.

Never caging anyone doesn't really add any tactical value, it just makes the game miserable. It shouldn't be a thing in this mode. Slugging for a huge amount of time isn't really warranted at all, and since there's no self-pickup boost you'd have to leave them for ages for it to kick in.

Not for a huge amount of time no. I wouldn't dismiss a tactical advantage slugging but it should not matter : it's both easy and fast to hook in this game. The "mass murder" case is the only exception I can think of.

I've played "solo-Q" with about 10 killers tonight and nobody tried that. The only complain I've got for my teammates is that some didn't respect my decision letting the last one go sometimes. (And one was going out of his way to try to "steal" my downs. I've almost lost that game.)

It's a fun mode and it's kind of sad some people play so "sweaty" : I haven't lost a single game tonight, be it as Nurse or as Trapper, and I didn't even play that well.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Only when you're on your last cage state.

These people were deliberately never caging anyone so it'd never be able to come into play.

I don't see what cage state have to do with what I said.

But yes, never caging isn't fun but unless I'm mistaken other survivors can still heal them.

Maybe on the next iteration they'll add a class with unbreakable.

  • As far as I know, it's the highest so far.

There is probably no real limit to what they can give.

They only feel 400% should be a proper incentive to play survivor.

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

Honestly I believe there should be a basekit unbreakable because there is genuinely no reason to slug for more than 20 seconds.

    There is.

When multiple survivors linger around, the best move is to dispense as many hits as possible.

I had several instances where a survivor was slugged more than a minute because of the swarm there was around.

In one of these instances, the survivor ended up being healed.

In all others, his turn being "hooked" eventually came.

Why are people so angry about this mode? This is just chaotic fun. And I've seen more teamplays than ever with randoms.

On another thread somebody is complaining about being "tunneled" (he has no idea what that word means).

Trying to explain being tunneled in this mode is impossible doesn't help 😅

So yes, obviously, some people will complain for no good reason. They can be safely ignored.

  • Shards? I've got more than 250K and have not idea what to spend them on.

Usually I spend them on a new killer or survivor but that's about it.

  • @Rogue11 said:

How can you be tunneled by a mechanic that was copy/pasted from one of the best tunneling killers? In a mode where you'll get "scout mode" teammates urbaning away after uncaging you? In a mode with zero anti-tunnel perks? Yea this will go about as well as lights out mode once killers figure that out.

400% of 5k is still less than an average killer score so I'll stick with that role thanks.

You get downed fast. That's not being tunneled. You are not using that word correctly.

  • @Rogue11 said:

Not having perks makes playing survivor in this mode boring. No DS just means you'll get insta tunneled. Terrible matchmaking so gens won't even get done if you have a good chase while being tunneled. I'll stick to killer for this mode.

How can you get tunneled in a game where you spawn in a pod far from the killer?

How can you get tunneled in a game where the killer has so many people to handle he doesn't even remember he hit you?

Seriously, do you know what "tunneled" means? (hint: it's about the tunnel vision of a killer only chasing a single survivor)

I had a match wherein I’d chosen the scout role & was juicing the ######### out of a nurse who was pretty much running the board. She was really good but couldn’t catch me. She wouldn’t drop chase when she saw me though… not until we got down to like 3 gens. lol. Wonder if that was you.

It's unlikely given the size of the player pool, and I'm not the kind to throw a match for a hit. If a survivor takes more than 2 attempts or goes far from the gens, I'm likely to break chase.

That being said : well done. 👍️

Finally got a killer game! Played Trapper, as suggested, and it was a really awesome experience. My teammate was a Huntress and carried the first bit of the match while I was setting up, but like someone else said, nobody was really watching for traps like they would be in a Trapper game and I started getting loads of catches. The end of the game was delightfully cinematic - there were two survivors left, all four players ended up converging, and I took the Dwight while she went after the Mikaela. Ended up getting the downs within two seconds of each other. Caged, and went up to each other and slow nodded as the match ended. Felt great.

The killer experience was much less chaotic than my survivor games have been, working with a single teammate instead of seven, though it might have been the particular match I played (and the competent teammate.) Though I did have to wait ten minutes to get in.

I could have kissed trappers I've grouped with. The number of times I've pushed a survivor in a trap. Hillarious. 😂

nurse huntress is really good in chase but man the mobility on these two killer is something.

I've yet to group with a Billy. (With anything else that Trapper and Huntress really)

I know I would not be able to follow without wasting blinks, he would not benefit much from my proximity (apart having a blinking drone downing his hits) and I would not benefit the insta-downs (as blinks are special attacks).

I'm curious to try and see.

  • I'm a decent Nurse and more than half the players handle the chases correctly.

The "buffs" are next to useless as far as I'm concerned but I believe it can help beginners who otherwise would not stand a chance playing her. (Keep in mind she is often at the bottom of the killer statistics.)

In all my matches, there was no significant difference between my downs and the downs of other killers. I had more, yes, but at the same time I've passed 3.5K hours and I've been grouped with low prestige Trappers and good Huntresses.

  • Fixed (obviously)

  • 10 minutes queues as Nurse p100, Europe.

  • There is an unknown connection issue between Cloudflare and the origin web server. As a result, the web page can not be displayed.

    I can't read a single thread.

  • So, 10 minutes queues for me (Nurse)

The strongest combo I've got so far is Huntress + Nurse : the two range killers of the mode.

There are two takeaways I have so far:

Killers teaming up is a bad idea

Trapper is surprisingly good in this mode as he can quickly snowball more effectively with survivors being less conscious of checking for traps

My queue times as Nurse are about 10 minutes.

  • My second game ended with a server disconnection at 1 survivor left alive … >_>

  • How about not doing that?

Instead of punishing the one survivor mode that works, improve the one that doesn't and buff killers to match.

  • AFAIK the trigger isn't sacrificing survivors.

Survivors can trigger it without any help from the killer.

This is really disappointing, but not surprising. As long as there are plenty of people still willing to play the game (especially killers), then it seems like there's no urgency to fix bugs, even game-breaking ones like the auto gen completion bug. Guess I'm just going to have to play something else for a while.

Every time I've connected to the game this past week, the incentive for killer was 100% and the queue instant.

I feel like many aren't playing. (And I've played very few matches as killer myself.)

  • Remainder to not feed the trolls.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

I'm actually shocked that I've never run into this before. Lord knows this game inspires trolls to do troll things. And this is the trolliest thing of all.

Since 2019 I've only had once a case where two survivors proceeded sandbagging the two other players (one being me) and teaming with the killer.

    Filmed, reported, moved on.

It may have been during my fist year so I don't recall if they were banned.

  • Are you joking or specifically speaking about killers?

I play my killer games on PC with a keyboard (using mostly 4 keys) and a mouse (every other control).

I play most of my survivor games on the PS5. The gamepad is way more efficient to juke a killer.

One of the best, if not the best, survivors I've ever seen (Cope, that's his name "Cope DBD" on youtube) plays with a gamepad.
