why do 4 man teams now have the option of infinte unbreakable heal and lucky break with the boon totems its broken and i am done i kick the totem but they legit can just spam it how the ######### is anybody gonna counter this with the ######### killers not only that i need to watch 7 gens 5 totems and 4 surv all at the same time boon totems need nerfs and only needs to benefit the person who has put it up its legit making me uninstall bye bye dbd
I literally uninstalled the game today. Not exaggerating, over 3K hours into the game on console and steam. Lived through all of the "enhancements" the game has introduced and these boons are pathetic. I was on Midwich and each player had CoH and SS and 4 totems going at anyone one time covering both floors. I then when into a haddonfield match with 2 boons and then another haddonfield match and within the first 20 seconds heard a boon turn on. For the first time ever I DC'd as killer and uninstalled. the game has been fun for 5 years but eff this.
I have no idea how BHVR thought this was a good idea and then to follow it up with boon unbreakable. #########?
-
actually, just got on Haddonfield and heard a boon go off in the first 20 seconds. Just uninstalled, going to do something useful with my limited off time than this broken-ass game.
-
I just had 4 boons on Midwich. It was really depressing, couldn't track, couldn't keep anyone hurt. I ended up face camping. Only thing you can do really IMO is face camp and play end game perks for any shot of coming out ahead of any swf team. It's laughable. When the new totem comes out that gives unbreakable, LMFAO, yep, gonna be really balanced then. I've been playing since this game launched and really thinking about calling it quits. like, eff this crap.

Well, the thing is that hooks were spawning as soon as he downed a teammate, then stopped while he was carrying them. Then as soon as the teammate was hooked they started spawning again. I saw that happen at least twice that game. Seemed really odd to me.
He probably downed the person with the Lament and or had franklins. There is about a 5 or 10-second delay when the person with the lament configuration is downed and the chain hunt starts again.
-
He found the cube immediately because he was running Lethal Pursuer, running two addon's that make solving the Lament Configuration take longer are Larry's Remains and Liquified Gore. More than likely they were not cheating.
You will usually know when someone is cheating. I had a killer playing Trickster who came out of the walls, touched generators and 99% them and dropped pallets and broke them himself and also used the Wraith's wailing bell.

Literally had a game against Blight where the first survivor was 3-hooked (technically 4-hooked because of ds) withing the first 2 minutes of the game. Corrupt was still up. Also had several similar games against nurses and spirits during the last couple of days.
But yea, nerf survivors. Gen speed too fast. Circle of healing op...
All killer mains complaining about that while such things exist should play a Solo Q 3 vs 1 at 5 gens all day.
I play both sides now. I am a killer main for a long time and consider myself a decent killer and a very bad survivor. Playing survivor and escaping is much easier than playing the killer in my experience. Let me rephrase that. Playing survivor when there are CoH totems I get out almost every time. If there isn't a boon totem then I would say the playing field is level. CoH has introduced a big balance issue. It takes away all of the killers pressure and snowballing potential. Survivors are going to have to get used to being tunneled and NOED in almost every match. I actually made a post about it when the boon first came out. Sucks but that's how the game is now. I feel bad for both sides.

Except they nerfed Thrill just before releasing this so there's no more notification. Odd timing, that.
Agreed, why did they do that if not to make the totem game even more survivor sided? Survivors have perks that show them where the totems are, detectives hunch and open hand can let someone with a map run around after a gen is done and track every totem. Survivors have the opportunity to know where each totem is and now killers can't have a notification with thrill when someone is on a totem. What's the point of thrill now? Takes longer?
I was playing survivor today and me and another survivor had CoH and SS against the Twins. It came down to one gen left and she had 3 gen'd us. I literally healed myself 20+ times getting that last gen. The twins player should have 4K's us 8-10 minutes into the match but got a 1K instead. I healed at least 20 times, get hit, run out and heal up. The other survivors did the same thing.

I made a thread about using Bloodhound to counter Shadow Step (And to a certain degree, CoH as well).
It looks like it got buried but I'll just mention it here and anywhere else I see people upset over Shadow Step. With Bloodhound, an injured survivor literally cannot hide from you unless they happen to have Lucky Break that is but that's not very common. You can pair this with Sloppy Butcher if you want to make them bleed even more frequently as well as reduce the healing from CoH by, -25% I personally don't use Sloppy with it though.
Alternatively you can use perks and add-ons that insta down / apply Exposed or Broken so that they can't heal. Killers complaining about survivors taking protection hits and then healing nigh instantly.. Use Forced Penance?
I've been experimenting lately with things to directly counter CoH and SS and I always get value from doing so since people bring both boons every single match.
Once you figure out how to play around the boons they become less powerful to survivors since it takes them time to bless and set them up. If I can track someone who thinks they are safe with Shadow Step and catch them, hook them then go snuff their totem they lose SO much there. Once they get unhooked they have to go relight it, that's time that they aren't on a gen, it makes them predictable and they are easy prey.
If boons ever become something that can only be used once per trial nobody will use them and they will become useless perks guaranteed but I guess that's what killers want out of this.
Yes, I want the perks completely gone from the game unless they only affect the survivor that blessed the totem and or once it's stomped out the totem is destroyed, just like a hex. That is exactly what I want.
-
When the game first came out, scratch marks were an integral part of the base game. The game is literally built around part of this. People have stated other perks offer the same thing and that is true. Lucky break offers it, but it's one time and for one survivor. This perk benefits every survivor. Also, the argument people have that it takes 14 seconds to boon a totem and how much time that wastes the survivor when they could be doing a gen. What about the number of people who lose the killer when they are injured and dodge a hook, the survivors that run to that area and heal themselves while others are on gens. You have to fill out the whole equation to get the result the boon totems are very strong. They are too strong. There isn't an argument that can be made the way they are implemented today that can suggest otherwise.
People suggesting good killers don't need scratch marks is bull. When a killer loses a line of sight how do they find out the general direction of the survivor? Remember, the base game was built around this concept. The best killers can't read survivors' minds 100% of the time. They look at crows, scratch marks and grass, and a general whereabouts the survivor may have gone. Not being able to see aura's and scratch marks is so game-breaking. I don't know if people that are supporting it saying it's not strong or git good are being disingenuous or baiting, its objectively game-breaking.

Legendary Boon: Decisivesprintburstadrenalinecareforever
You are fuelled by the number of subscribers on your Twitch.tv channel.
Press and hold the Active Ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes ring out within a radius of 280 metres.
Survivors inside the Boon Totem's range benefit from the following effects:
- When grabbed by the killer succeed a tremendously easy Skill Check to automatically escape the Killer's grasp and stun them for 30/60/90 seconds, breaking into a sprint at 150% your normal running speed for 10/15/20 seconds. Also heals you instantly for one Health State. Also, you can heal yourself at 100/150/200% the normal healing speed for 5 minutes.
- If the Survivor is using a Legendary cosmetic a second tremendously easy Skill Check will appear, enabling the survivor to kick the Killer in the crotch and stun them for an additional 30/60/90 seconds.
- Grants a stackable 100% bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 300/400/500%.
- Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will result in the Killer being stunned anyway because you are the ones who pay for this game.

Right, but that just means that CoH is the same as the survivor bringing a medkit, which they're freely able to do at any given time. This is where CoH is basically just any other healing perk; it's no stronger than other methods of self-heal in the game, save for when you misuse Self Care on its own lmao
CoH is only worrisomely strong when it's used by teammates with coordination who are utilising the speed buff properly, not when some rando decides to use the free medkit.
You understand no one needs to bring in a med-kit now. right? this lends to everyone bringing in flashlights, toolboxes, maps whatever. This also stacks with other perks light We'll make it, med kit speeds and add-ons. I'm not sure if people are being disingenuous or really don't see the issue here. Admittingly, it is fun being the survivor playing these perks when the killer gets 2 or 3 "hooks" a game and then teabag at the exit and then BM the killer in chat about how he tunneled and made the game un-fun and they are like, "#########, I didn't even sacrifice anyone" and then tell them you're going to report them for not validating your feelings. It will get old and at some point and no one is going to play the killer. It's really taken a broken game and set fire to it.
-
@EQWashu said:
I'm sorry you had to deal with that. The ACMs do receive a great deal of reports on a daily basis, and go through and review them as soon as they can. But to answer your question, yes, people are indeed punished for Communications Abuse (which can range up to a permanent ban, as noted here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/141-game-ban-escalation ). There is no exact response time I can give you, but they will respond to you as soon as possible; but I wish to add, please avoid sending multiple support tickets, as it will bump you back at the end of the queue.
Interesting, i have sent several of people telling me to die, they are going to find out where I live and burn my house down etc. never have received a response from anyone and this was about a year ago. I just stopped reporting abuse because it never seems to help.

Boones can come back and once a hex is gone, it's gone. As long as survivors do not destroy the totems all 5 can be re-ignited endlessly

No, it takes 14 seconds for a dull, 24 seconds for a hex. Please stop spreading false information.
Ty... i was going to reluctantly respond then saw this. Ironically, IMO it should take 28 seconds to replace the hex. Putting your boon and taking the hex off. 14+14 = 24 ... somehow.

Boons should be permanently removed once snuffed once, like Hexes
This is where they messed up. If this happens, which I completely agree with if they aren't removed altogether but if you remove it once its blessed it keeps other survivors from blessing it if they bring in the perk, and then there will be complaints of that.

I would suggest looking for bloodpools if a survivor is injured and you can't see scratch marks. Also, you can try and listen for footsteps. Yeah the TR music may be blasting, but if you listen closely with a good pair of headphones, you can hear grass moving, breathing, and survivors running.
I do listen to footsteps and breathing and it is definitely another way to find survivors. Not having scratch marks is definitely harder than not having scratch marks and looking for pools of blood is going to be a lot harder. Can use bloodhound and sort but if a survivor can heal in 16 seconds by themselves with no med-kits and faster with other perks and items, following blood trails is going to be difficult as well. Plus you have to be able to find the survivor to get a blood trail too.

@jesterkind said:
Shadow Step isn't really that strong, though? Removing scratch marks is only a moderately good effect for the survivor side unless you're in an indoor map, and removing auras is good but pretty easily played around in the long run by just not leaning on aura reading perks as your sole source of tracking.
Circle of Healing is strong, but worst case scenario there is just that instadown and Broken are going to be more popular, or killers will just commit to a down instead of hit-and-run. It's definitely strong and might need tuning down, but it's hardly apocalyptic.
You are free to your opinion. I still stand by mine. Call me a noob killer but I absolutely look to scratch marks at least 50% of the game to see the direction a survivor takes. If they going for an unhook or you get sidestepped at a jungle gym. Scratch marks are huge and so is disabling aura reading perks and add-ons in the boon area. I feel its "game-breaking"

Unironically chasing survivors is slowly becoming a way to LOSE the game. Like I said, I can somewhat get behind Pallet Hit Validation, even though it made it easier to loop pallets safely.
Now they enabled the Healing Boon again, on top of this....I'm going to start letting people bleed out on the floor or basement camp.
I except a HUGE killer rework soon or this game will be a joke. If I'm being honest, give every killer 5% added to their movement speed. It will make the game more interesting instead of Survivors just greeding DH because of Hit Validation, and greeding Pallets because....once again, Hit Validation.
Sadly, the game is, as of today, a huge joke. I don't know about you but I have been playing since the game out. This is the update that killed the game. The pallet validations, the dead hard and the boons. LOL. My god, I have no idea what they were thinking.

@Beaburd said:
Take no perks, go in the basement's far corner (next to a locker), face the corner (with your head slightly toward the middle of the wall), and put the volume on your headphones up high.
Your absence in the game will confuse them, your terror radius will lure them, and you facing away from the survivors will intrigue them. This is especially true if one of them has a flashlight, since they'll see if there's enough of angle to blind you for points by heading to the middle of the wall. At the very least, they'll try to poke your butt.
Once you hear their footsteps behind you, or they try for the blind, turn around and kill them.
Once hooked, go back to your corner and crank up the volume for more footsteps.
After you assert your dominance, spam M1 on their hanging soon-to-be corpses, to warn others what will happen if they poke your butt.
Easy.
---
Edit: Not that I've done this, but if I did, this is what I would do.
Maybe Distressing, Monstrous, Overwhelming Presence, and Mad Grit if I really wanted to take perks though.
I love the mindset. Thanks for the insight <3 I am loving my basement bubba. I have played killer since release and have not had this much fun.

I don't have all the perks so far, but getting decent t results with what I have. Thanks for the advice!

monstrous, bamboozle, agitation and iron grasp
monstrous because true basement bubbas run monstrous (don't even bother with insidious, be overt)
bamboozle to secure a down asap and break a lot of chainsaw-denying loops for people
agitation+iron grasp to extend your pickup range to basement as far as possible to get you going on your way
and for extra funtimes in the likely event they try to save at some point (lot easier if you proxy the basement than truly camp with insidious) is that red addon that resets charges on hit, can easily chase down someone with bt with that even after tagging the unhooker
I think I like the proxy camp. I may try blood favor too. I like the be overt and no insidious. I just camped a match, its pretty fun.

Don't you think there's a pretty significant difference between devoting 4 perks for 1 survivor to be able to heal quickly vs 1 survivor bringing 1 perk to allow the entire team to heal quickly? That's 15 more perk slots and 4 item slots freed up for second chances, exhaustion, aura perks, toolboxes, etc.
The infinite use of it and insane healing speed buff with no way to permanently counter it makes it a problem. Good luck ever holding a 3 gen against this perk vs a semi decent team.
Rogue11 has my thoughts in mind. The introduction to these perks "will" drastically change this game and I fear for the worse. When killers can't track nor keep anyone injured and no one has to come off their gen to heal someone..... man. Going to be really tough being a killer
-
@Bangarang said:

I understand your point, self care takes up a perk slot and effects one person. Boon totem heals will affect everyone and only 1 person has to have it equipped.

LOL, that sucks but that is really funny

When more people get the "feel" for Nemesis tentacle strike he will move up to A tier IMO. He has decent pressure with zombies though it's a bit RNG, and he can hit through pallets and vaults and is good on most loops. The survivor cant see where the tentacle is going to strike either like PH's punishment of the damned.

We know the deck is stacked against you even more with this patch.
Some new fun things killers have to deal with:
Unstompable boon totem locations on maps that are still in circulation such as lerys.
Hackers running no hit detection or lag switching mods.
Some addons for killers not working correctly (or yay the pig nerf) .
All the reasons playing killer are stressful🤣( the usual gen rushing, map sizes, bad rng with looping tiles (especially the farm).
Long mmr lobbies (which hopefully are better right now with so many mikaelas playing).
Just wanted to convey thanks for a thankless role.
Any other positive messages people want to add?
Edit: please play both sides of dbd...you make yourself a better player and can get some perspective from both viewpoints.
Also, add the killer can see the light orange gens and color blind killers cant distinguish between light orange and yellow and Discordance is basically useless.

I am not debating if NOED is ok or not. I am saying with the current state of the game and when the healing totems hit and killers cant track anyone down and they go heal without a med kit or another survivor to help. The killer will have no choice but to keep after one person, and use NOED to get kills at the end.

Came here after a match where I assumed this was how it worked. It would be such a cooler add-on and wouldn't even be strong, obviously just for the laughs. If they felt like it might actually be too strong they could say for every 2 zombies you kill they appear at the exit gates or something. Would be such a cooler moment for survivors if you open it to a wave of zombies (perhaps with a max?).
Agreed, it would be funny and fun. But you get the aimless wondering zombie that stands there while the survivors run out without even raising their arms :)

I don't understand why people are saying "if you needed this to play Killer you suck" or whatever, it's completely not what the problem is about.
THE PROBLEM, is that as Killer you are playing with the feedback GIVEN to you from the game, so if I am IN REACH for a hit and I LAND that hit successfully, and the game even gives me the feedback that I was in range, successful, survivor screams, etc etc.. then WHAT else could I have done to make sure that the game doesn't now REJECT my hit??
Like, I'm literally just playing the game normally, on my screen I am landing the hits, and they are getting rejected, constantly, now LUNGES as well not just Pallet hits... what am I supposed to do? How is this fair ?
I have been playing DBD for 4 years and as you wrote in your message about losing interest, after playing 2 days of Killer since the update I finally think I may have lost interest in playing DBD for good... at least on the Killer side, I might still play SWF... but Killer feels HORRIBLE to play now... it is exactly as the OP said, you are literally being "robbed" hits.
It doesn't matter if the server says otherwise, YOU as a player see that you are landing the hit, and THEN afterwards it gets rejected. How is that fun or fair?
It legitimately feels buggy as hell.
As I mentioned before, AT LEAST FOR SURVIVORS, before the update the Pallet would STILL Stun the Killer.. so they knew that they landed the stun successfully, which would still end up wasting some of the killers time, being stunned by the pallet and often kicking and breaking the pallet before picking the Survivor up.. the Survivors got something out of it at least - it WAS more fair..
Now it's literally just completely Unfair for Killers and Survivor Sided pretty much 100% of the time, maybe I don't have good ping when I play despite paying for the fastest internet speeds that COX has to offer in downtown san diego, because I play at around 100-120ms ping on average usually, but so far Survivor has been favored 100% of the time since this update they just seem to loop like gods and abuse the changes.
Its pure crap. I am with you. I have a long time invested in this game and this is it. I won't be playing killer at all in the near future or possibly ever. It's a big punch in the gut and completely unfair. I hate it.
-
@vacaman said:
In a single match i've got a hit through a pallet 3 times and saw the survivor down but the game decides that nah, let's give him another chance. I don't know what hit validation have they changed in this patch but AT LEAST don't show on my screen that i have downed the survivor for instants later have him be up again not only making me frustrated but losing chase distance because i thought he was down. Now you don't only get robbed of grabs, you apparently get robbed of hits too.
This was the final straw for me. If you’re not ranged and play meta perks you can’t win. I get hit with pallets when I’m literally feet away from them. Love playing ghost face or Myers and hit someone exposed at a pallet or vault and they scream and keep running. I’ve been trying to reduce my play time since I play 5+ hours a day and this update 110% made me lose interest.
-
i have over 2K hours in the game and seen a lot of changes and this is probably the worst. So much is wrong. The pallet change is horrendous and so is Tricksters lullaby.
