  • It’s actually:

    80 seconds

    44.444 seconds (80/2/0.9)

    33.333 seconds (80/3/0.8)

    28.57 seconds (80/4/0.7)

I suggested before to change it to:

    90 seconds

    45 seconds (90*1/2)

    33.75 seconds (45*3/4)

    28.125 seconds (33.75*5/6)

Then just throw in some solo buffs to make repairing with teammates more feasible. Like you get an alert if a teammate has touched a particular generator.

  • Imagine the 4 survivors you’re vs’ing are:

    A gen rusher

    A looper

    A hook rusher

    An immersed one

Then make traps in mind for all of them.

So you just want an equivalent perk for killers? Distressing could be seen as such. On its own it harms almost every killer in exchange for more points, unless (like No Mither) you combo it with other perks for a gimmicky build. The downside isn't as big sure, but the design is kinda the same thing.

Killers also have the 'Speed Limiter' type of addon, where it actively hinders their power in exchange for more points (see Billy, Leatherface, Trapper, Wraith, Freddy). Survivors don't have addons that hinder them.

Idk I just don't see the problem with any of these things. To me it's just like fun customisation.

Those killer perks/add-ons give bloodpoint bonus’s and no mither can never be given that... imagine playing survivor in soloque, seeing 3 teammates with no mither, wglf, prove thyself and dead hard.

It’s not as bad on killer because it’s the killers own choice...

As for no mither it could be stronger without making it meta... It should make you immune to killer status effects perks/add-ons and not drop blood for oni is something atleast. Losing dead hard from perks/add-ons really sucks if you run no mither.

  • Just take botony knowledge if you’re a survivor... balances BT at last atleast for one killer.

  • I’d rather they kept it but nerfed BT/DS... I’m all in favour of mind-game battles at the hook rather than playing top trumps with perks.

Okay, so here’s what I think of these changes.

The Vanity Mirror is a welcome change in my book. I’ve personally never used this add-on before, but I think losing Tier 3 is a big enough drawback to it.

Dying Light...? All that really does is let you gain two extra tokens, and killing the obsession still makes you lose all your tokens anyway unless you toss the obsession mechanic out the window, which doesn’t work well with Myers’ teachables.

Deerstalker doesn’t need to be changed. It does its job, and that’s all it needs. Slowing down how fast someone recovers while downed doesn’t make a difference, since healing speed remains the same. You might as well just run Sloppy Butcher or Coulrophobia.

Remember Me should revert back to its original state in my opinion, but there’s no need to make it so complicated. Just make it so that it’s the way it was on release, but if the Killer closes the hatch, it won’t apply. (Or use the current version.)

Monstrous Shrine IS Thanatophobia, in your remake at least. The values are the same, and the way it triggers is the same. Yeah, it works with dead Survivors too, but that’s hardly an improvement. If this were in the game, Thanatophobia would be better in this case because it works with Survivors that are injured, dying, AND hooked.

I honestly feel bad for Unrelenting, because its abilities were robbed by STBFL when Halloween came out. Your change... could work? But you might as well just use Enduring.

Your change to Nemesis violates the rules of the obsession mechanic. The point of Nemesis to so that the obsession is constantly moving to another Survivor. It also specifically states the Killer can “only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.” It seems like the only purpose of this change is to nerf the Leatherface build, which isn’t a step in the right direction. And by the way, ANYONE can use that build. Not just Leatherface. It just happens to be his “best” build today.

I thought of a build where this Monstrous Shrine would trump thanatophobia:

Dying Light + Monstrous Shrine would trump Dying Light + Thanatophobia

Since Dying Light gives the obsession +33% heal speed this would reduce the hit and run tactic potential which is primary used with Thanatophobia...

So if you take Monstrous Shrine + Dying Light you can play for more end-game constant hooks as you’ll get to keep percentages for killing survivors (stacking with DL) which Thanatophobia wouldn’t offer.

You can basically choose either combo: Monstrous Shrine + Dying Light or Thanatophobia + Sloppy Butcher catered to how you want to play... and all 4 perks together don’t have immense synergy since the obsession heal speed which keeps any very heavy slow down build in check.

  • @SageRL said:

Afrer the oni nerf I called it in another forum that nemesis would be nerfed too it seems the devs are too scared of anything synergizing and working well together which is a shame cus those are usually pretty fun builds.

Right you saw it coming, doesn’t that give a slight tell in itself that it might be abit too strong?

And if you read my nerf what really changes for 66% or so of the match? Nothing... then there are still answers to keep the synergy.

The combo’s where your teammates can just feed the killer without you knowing are just cheesy. Plus the teammates at first had no clue they were feeding the killer ontop. It’s fine if these combos aren’t over the top... but the nemesis+pwyf essentially makes it impossible for survivors to work around.

She’s still terrible on dedicated. In fact, there is a new bug that prevents you from using any blinks until you recharge both of them.

That was last patch too - edit nvm: haven’t seen that but there’s been a bug where you try to use the second blink and zero response.

There’s a lot of slowdown perks in the game actually, as well as add-ons that do so such as Freddy’s. I like how you think when it comes to slowing down the game, but I think people would like it more if you were more creative with these changes. I made a similar post a while ago, so I understand what you’re going through.

Back to this again, Deerstalker is an aura perk. Its purpose isn’t to be powerful, rather an information perk. The reason it is “underused” is because people quickly learn how to locate dying Survivors by listening for their grunts, therefore Deerstalker isn’t needed. Maybe Mangled could slow down recovery speed, but not Deerstalker...

In my post, I made a similar change to Remember Me where the change is reverted, but doesn’t affect doors if all Survivors are dead except one.

Monstrous Shrine is definitely getting a rework, but we won’t know until it happens.

Unrelenting should also get a rework, but I don’t know how nor when. When a perk is reworked, it should be GOOD, not just for memes.

As for Leatherface and Nemesis, there are plenty of other Killers with instadowns that can even utilize this build BETTER than Leatherface, such as Hillbilly, Myers, Ghostface, Oni, and anyone else that has an instadown ability. It’s a good build that looks balanced enough for me, because you have to work in order to get it to do its job. As a Survivor, if you know that the Killer is running this build, take it upon yourself to save pallets and/or toss them down early to avoid stunning. There’s some counterplay right there. No need to change Nemesis for it.

Actually, NOED and Adrenaline activate when the exit gates are available. Rancor only activates when the last generator is completed. Those are two different conditions. Though, I wouldn’t mind Rancor activating when the hatch is closed.

There’s barely any viable slow-down perks... just thanato/sloppy/ruin and knockout. If anything the devs have been nerfing slow-down add-ons quite consistently so killers are less add-on reliant... freddy’s was the latest. Huntresses Mangled add-ons got nerfed before.

Edit: There is corrupt intervention but not everyone owns it... I don’t happen to. Some of the general perks need some more bonus’s. They don’t need to be super special... would think that’s better for DLC.

And if deerstalker’s purpose is easily made void just by sound that justifies a buff.

You don’t really know if something’s good unless people experiment with them. The idea I have for Unrelenting could actually be okay sometimes against open-field deadhards for example... the quick recovery can get the odd down.

Billy has a punishment built in for travelling the map... when he stops he takes ages to be back in M1 mode. Bubba’s just traversing accurately around obstacles at 130%m/s... I’m happy for my main to be strong just not skill-less which the combo does make him abit... the reason why he wasn’t so easy was that his chainsaw took some navigation and timing... now he’s abit like old Billy Insta-saw with how he gets kills.

Also if the combo is kept as it is: it means the devs can not actually buff Bubba’s basekit... rather he worked in many builds than just 1.

Rancor in the 1v1 would remove the balance just as noed/adren already do.

Glad vanity mirror is seen like this, I’ve thought of builds then saw the downside and yeah it’s a tad too much to be slower than even a 110% killer.

Dying Light: none of the perks I’m listing really need dramatic buffs... sloppy/thanato are clearly the go to slow down game perks and aren’t op though... the more slow down game perks the less need for ruin which would mean less frustration to have other options. Also if you could get stacks from hooking the obsession... there is less reason to avoid them so adds convenience.

Deerstalker does a job but so does unbreakable... and unbreakable gets a bonus... I’m not sure what’s wrong with deerstalker getting the same as it’s underused and yeah healing would counter the negative which is why it’s not bad. Just like unbreakable’s boost can be countered by a teammate healing them. :P

Remember Me - this kinda is a revert for the most part... except in 1v1 it’s 15 second doors rather than 30 seconds.

Monsterous Shrine - sure thanato will be better overall... but the purpose was never to make it as good but rather there may be really specific builds to make the new version work... the current monsterous shrine will never be good nor the current buffs even if it worked on every hook... still it’d be another slow down game perk option which there aren’t many. You can’t easily buff a perk well that’s triggers around survivors staying on a hook. It would just buff camping.

Unrelenting will atleast have a memey really fast recovery at the least... essentially when paired with enduring they become “Enduring IX”.

The leatherface build is far different to other killers using it... leatherface has an insta-down (spend 1 token)... say if it’s on wraith he needs to spend 2 tokens for the same effect (which takes a lot of effort) but also needs to build two chases (more effort again). They’d just have to add “De-activates when there’s no living obsession”. Not every mechanic works exactly the same between perks... Just like noed works during hatch close but Rancor doesn’t... even though I don’t really agree with noed/adren working there.

That vid was a huge mess to watch. You chose to not blink so you spent a good minute walking as nurse, you got your first hit but lost them. Luckily found a sneaky claudette and hit them but lost them too. It took you a little over 2 minutes for your first down, which you slugged so you got no use from bbq. And you honestly got them due to them goofing up badly in chases. But you kinda threw the game at the start with how little pressure you inflicted. Not trying to belittle you in the slightest but that was a pretty rough game. The survivors literally had nothing else to do but gens.

You’re very naive to watch a video that got a 4k and say you’d do better xd

I don’t need to hook with a slug build... hooking is just for information when it’s necessary.

I could slug from the start but then the survivors would use separation tactics. Amateur mistake.

I left claudette to force her to the other side of the map.

You actually do not guess right away with nurse trying to catch survivors but pay attention to their movement to work them out for when you do blink. Doing otherwise is how you lose with nurse. I only guessed with Nea and got her right.

Btw I’m not a nurse main, but a survivor main... you don’t have a clue of the extent to play or resources to win with killer with no ruin.

You’re completely depending on survivors making mistakes you set them up for.

And I’m not concerned about the gens... just about slugging. It’s the only way to win with killer without ruin.

edit: tldr you’re not gonna pressure gens against survivors who can complete them in that speed... you have to try to force them together at point in the match... down two and hope you snowball from there assuming they don’t read it. If you play too perfect the survivors will read you. Survivors are simply not playing as well as they potentially could or they’re being nice for the most part or they couldn’t find ruin if you brought ruin.

    gambits exist.

except that's not what your post said you were talking about.

you said ability to use to maximum potential. but i could make that same argument for any killer or survivor. the only thing that differentiates each killer is their power and movement speed.

To get the full potential of aim is much harder than navigating sound - especially when the hatchets have an arc, a wind-up and a movement speed penalty. Yeah the difficulty to get the very full potential is there. It’s not difficult to get the full potential of legion... you push a button hop and window/pallet then hit and go to next aura... getting the most out of huntress hatchets is far harder... way harder.

  • I feel like I gotta post this though if ruin’s ever talked about: this is what games look like when you don’t bring ruin:

    https://youtu.be/aKmOcJUhPYc

Those survivor’s also made mistakes. I did too at the start, at 2:55 I had the M2 bug though where I did click to charge the second blink but nothing.

  • @wydyadoit said:

i'd argue that huntress is super easy to play at max since there's only learning how to her hatchets. she has metaphorically has only 2 lines in her code. aim and restock. other than that she's 100% an m1 killer.

compared to someone like spirit where her ability has about 8 parts to it.

There’s a difference between aim and tracking sound... spirit fundamentally doesn’t do much more than that... and any “mindgames” are so fast to shut down with her speed that you don’t need as great a reaction time to do so.

Huntress takes aim, patience, being in the right place at the right time because she’s slow in order to aim etc. She’s like a nurse that doesn’t get to catch up... Nurse’s downside can be seen as pretty large though compared due to after 1 miss you do have to wait now... but still say huntress is harder... there’s a timing to wind up her hatches etc.

  • Most people are bad at hag... she’s the least played killer... to do well with hag you basically need to be pretty good at survivor (with different playstyles) and use that knowledge with how you play her + she has to use stealth + you have to consider not retrapping the same spots. I was considering putting her at the top tbh but felt she does have a safety net to fall back on (camping).

This isn’t a purely “skill rating” but knowledge comes into it/situational awareness too - to capitalise of.

I could see spirit being lower.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    Another buff legion thread...

It’s difficulty to use not how weak they are :P

    But yeah legion needs something.

  • Solo survivor can be really stressful but you kind of take breaks since the killer switches target... but overall killer is more stressful as they’re constantly tied into the match.

  • Buff it but make it not work on trappers traps. There’s millions of hooks now.

  • That wraith build is strong tbh... and it doesn’t need a nerf.

It’s definitely got more merit than many other lower tier killer combos for how fast you can pick it up and the playstyle is simple to follow.

I had thought of a combo with myers with that build but after looking at vanity mirror’s movement speed decrease it’s not worth...

my idea was: Vanity Mirror + Dead Rabbit...

Thanato, Sloppy, Ruin, M&A (instead of nurses because vanity mirror can do the job).

That was assuming Vanity mirror‘s movement penalty was only 5% not 7%...

If that build didn’t work from the 110% killer pov then sloppy, ruin, nemesis and PWYF and same add-ons. (12 meter TR still isn’t bad).

But vanity mirror needs a buff... bring that movement penalty down a tad :P.

Myers might not have wraith’s speed but the idea was trading that for wall-hacks and the faster vaulting.

Bah, according to Peanits, you can do FINE without ruin. You have his permission to not run it.

If we still had the kill 2.25 ranking system... I think it is fine... for the best killers (like nurse)... a lot of killer perks need a buff... you need ruin or knock out on a high mobility killer. There’s basically no other way.

I showed the devs my controller settings (on PC) and that could help console... if the dev’s take them serious abit... I was playing R6S for 3 months... hit plat 3 for the 2nd time... the devs there basically responded with nerfing the guns I use (heavily harsh on me) despite being able to prove I was using the hardest guns in the game... the rest are brain dead easy to use and yeah... they don’t really see the potential of cross-play actually being plausible... plat 3 is like coming to the end of the line of solo-que... plat 1 probably being the very last mark for it. With the DS5 and new xbox controller generation which will have better analogues it’s probably enough to tighten the gap enough.

I basically slaved over making comfortable/competitive settings as best as I could.

    Now your making me laugh.

At most the Wraith is at low B tier, not even a top 3 killer. Heck even Micheal Myers, Huntress, Ghostface, Demogorgon, and Hag are better than him.

Also he can be easily spotted because of that simmer he makes, along with the sounds he makes while cloaked.

His best build just makes him more playable.

I think you under-estimate the power of the demogorgon.

I agree. That's why I don't see the exit gate aura reveals being an issue.

If the survivor’s aura can be revealed for opening an exit gate, the killer would get an early sign of this happening in the 1v1 and rush right over giving the survivor absolutely no time to open the gate and lose.

  • @Blueberry said:

Remove the cooldown on her blinks and lower the lunge she has coming out of a blink.

This removes the non fun element they added while adding much more counter play to her blinks because now she has to be much more accurate with her blinks and they are easier to dodge if the nurse isn't as good. She will have to be much more precise with her aiming.

This’d kill nurse against the best survivors tbh. It gets pretty clutch at a certain level.

That doesn't effect hatch though, just exit gates. And as I stated before, if you're the last survivor and have to rely on hatch or a 1 man escape after the hatch is closed, it simply means your team lost. But this would be situational, just like most perks are. Not every killer runs BW, just like every survivor doesn't run Unbreakable.

If the killer closed the hatch then it’s gg the survivor can’t open a door. I don’t even find it fair Noed/Adren work in the hatch game :P.

  • @Jholla31 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/913323#Comment_913323

How so? I don't see how any of the changes I suggested could effect the hatch game. But I could be overlooking something.

If they try to open an exit gate their aura’s revealed if I read the post right.

  • One main issue is it’s quite a free win in the hatch game.

  • Wouldn’t mind this but I’m dying to see pick-rate and win-rate of perks... the devs released this once before ages ago.

Maybe if possible have Rank 1 and SWF as additional categories. :P

  • The problem with shortening time on the hatch is that solos get cucked but swf do not... I think if a survivor uses a key on the hatch it should automatically shut behind them and broken keys should work after a certain amount of time of M1’ing it to give them a use.

Making them work on pig would be pretty unfair on her, she could always dodge keys also so that doesn’t really accomplish much but adds dodging and she just needs a buff tbh... just make her traps work during the endgame (and dies on exit) BUT if a survivor is trapped then the endgame timer slows down like the survivor is hooked/downed.

  • Just remove some suction passing large objects (to the point she can actually navigate the Demogorgon map), fix the M2 bug that can happen and fix deadzones on the new map then she’s set imo.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

It wasn't sarcastic. I too mostly play survivor and this game is very stale on our side.

The scale of the issue with gen-speed is too high to be ignored, if the devs can be let to fix it in peace... they could give us nice things in return (more fun perks to work with etc)... that’s how stuff works... shrugging off the idea to solve current problems isn’t the answer.

As for solo survivor that mostly sucks because like-wise many killers try to shrug off them getting buffed to SWF level. Both sides are being entitled kids.

  • I have like 3k hours in dbd and also stopped playing for like 3 months about a week ago... I main survivor... maybe you haven’t played as much as me but there needs to be changes to the game and being sarcastic at people’s comments you don’t like is only because you don’t understand the game enough.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/111929/one-change-to-slightly-nerf-genspeeds-at-red-rank

Players deserve to be rewarded for hitting great skill checks with a slight boost. It's one of the few things survivors can actually strive to get good at while holding M1 forever.

Regardless, killers don't run ruin to deny the 2% progress lol. It does that, sure, but they're trying to capitalize on players missing the greats. I personally think ruin just discourages new players from playing the game at all and it's not good for the game, but that's a different topic entirely.

It should be tied into “this is not happening” for them to appear tbh. If you want great skill-checks run a perk for them honestly.

  • I had an SWF complain I was slugging while they were being an SWF telling each other where they got “Knocked Out”... yeah I know what you mean... can’t use mechanics in the game without them policing the one’s they can’t beat as the game would normally intend.

If anyone has a screenshot of what you saw during the basement bug I’d love to see it... everytime an SWF player gets knocked down or hooked it should be what they see tbh.

  • Have you tried knife fights on R6S? Or tried to use sledge’s hammer to kill? There’s no “auto-aim” (which would mean adjusting your camera onto target) or “AoE lock point” (the weapon will connect within a certain zone and I believe dbd does this rather than auto-aim) on that game.

With DBDs mechanics it’d be pretty stupidly easy to 360 killers alone and also to make survivors hitbox smaller (which’d also mean nerfing tonnes of stuff on the killer’s end and also mean survivors loop faster).

I have to pitch in on mentioning these things... can the current mechanics be improved? Possibly but the benefit goes both ways currently... there’d be a real lack of counters against nurse since you’re meant to use solid objects to sway her for example... so a survivor nerf if she can’t be countered like this aswell as other killers hitting stuff... but also there’d be a killer nerf since sometimes they hit when they didn’t aim at the survivor fully.

  • i’mma pitch in to BVHR and say make his 90 degree turn normal and if he’s “overperforming” don’t change the flick but the lunge of the his basic attack in fury (Otherwise then obvs he’s just fine)... honestly seems fine for the killer to get a 90 degree flick... makes him unique.

I doubt they’d change anything with the perk... it’d get swapped with DS/BT which sounds better? It’s like a B tier perk since getting 99’ed can prompt a skill-check and ruin everything. Rather they did something to Thanatophobia like more time on the ground slugged or smaller skill-checks per percentage. I also think Deer-stalker should mirror unbreakable better by Deer-stalker increasing downed recovery by 20/22.5/25%.

Resilience doesn’t directly mirror Thana with the vault speed but that’s partially due to Bamboozle having a whooping 15% increased vault speed and Thanto does generally get more value than resilience if directly mirrored...

The killer will generally always occupy atleast one survivor (chase) so they aren’t getting an increased value at all times.

I also think Dying Light needs something more... like the Obsession’s heal speed bonus lowered to 8% from 33%... it’d be a third of the maximum 24% the killer gets which’d make it more fair imo. I kinda get why the obsession is immune after some thought since only they could counter the killer’s high% in certain situations.

  • He’d be a lot more fun with the flick but no myers lunge surely? And more unique at the same time...

Nothing listed about the dead zones being fixed. 😢

I checked and nothings fixed. Trying to get red rank (stuck at 5 for ages) is hard when survivors just DC when you do win. Got denied a kill which I was 1 off from pipping. SWF too and I had no ruin.

They DC’ed because I didn’t give them DS btw... I waited it out.
