Slugging is not an issue that warrants a fix literally ever

The amount that people want to implement "fixes" for alternate playstyles just because they don't find them fun is frankly absurd. Tunneling shouldn't of been fixed, camping shouldn't be fixed.

You know what I don't find fun? Being forced to play the exactly how the opposite team want me to play

ain't nobody forcing nothing on you, you just made that up so you could have something to be mad at

Yh but this is a rule compared to a law, they are not gonna face jail time lol. Yes they broke a rule but I am just making the point that it probably slipped their mind. Regardless of that it does not also erase the fact that this should not be a rule to begin with since what advantage does playing Nicolas cage actually give them? lol

"This rule exists to give people more time to learn new content that is was added."

it's not about having an advantage, it's about letting people have enough time to learn new content, as quoted by the person who originally made this thread. nic cage's perks could suck and he could be the loudest survivor ever for all this rule cares but he's still not allowed in the cup until 2 weeks has passed because that's just... how they do things.

  • Dredge / Clown. At least Skull Merchant doesn't make me ill playing against her, she's just boring, Dredge / Clown are accessibility issues and boring, and I don't particularly care for their perks either, so win/win.

  • i feel the first one wouldn't have been nearly that covered/unnoticeable if it weren't for the GoJ ambience fog, but yeah that second lean is a bit much, i wish it was shown on a different tile than the corner of shack though as normally you're in a chase if you're leaning around shack corner like this with very few exceptions, cosmetics and map definitely matter though, the black and red on coldwind sticks out like a sore thumb for obvious reasons. idk how weird stuff like this even happens. tasty spaghetti code.

  • bro fr really started this thread and ended up mostly complaining about other threads in the replies lmao. you're pushing people away because no one wants to argue or debate or agree with you on completely irrelevant subjects to the thread, mate, they really just wanted to help you have your question answered.

  • no touching shadowborn until fov slider exists. do not bespeak those evils into MY dead by daylight

  • it doesn't surprise me a bubba pfp would write about hook endurance being too long. bait or not this is a funny post i give you that. if you're dead serious.... yeesh.

  • i think it should be 6 stacks total (or whatever the stack difference is now with the basekit hit recover buff), because basekit hit recovery speed was an indirect buff to stfbl because it technically now makes it so you can have 8+ stacks, it didn't need that imho, the change for killer basekit was a good change, i just don't enjoy the fact it made stbfl better. other than that there's not much i could ask for, i don't think stbfl is op or anything, i'm well aware stacks don't just spawn and you have to actually use some brain power to keep decently high stacks (unless obsession is hiding in a corner/you're ignoring them, then that's just a stack cakewalk), but i just think it could use a small tweak that just makes it as it was before, if it doesn't happen i won't be shedding tears because i don't see stbfl enough to care.

    Ackshually she has counterplay

Let's stop for a second and ponder on this proposition. Nurse is a killer in the game, and killer players sometimes want to play her. What happens if we give an option for players to start banning killers they don't want to play against? Nurse queue times skyrocket to an hour.

Learn the counterplay and stop complaining.

last i checked bait was believable

  • nope, it's fair play. it's on him to play around it, not for you to stop doing it, he's just mad that he actually has to think around pallets/windows while playing shadow dance wraith.

It would be a normal game but random perks are forced on all survivors and the killer .

I think it would make games rather random and unpredictable . Might be fun for a change from all that meta stuff.

i don't know about a mode but they should definitely put a perk randomizer into the game, maybe for a bloodpoint incentive, no clue why it's not in main game yet esp since they already have proven they can put randomizers in the game (during anniversary event).

  • It's a dumb rule, but it's on them for not reading the rules properly / thinking they could get away with breaking a rule. I truly cannot comprehend how anyone thinks Eternal are the victims here when all they had to do was not use Nic Cage, it really was that simple. The only thing I can agree with is it should've been a warning/penalty, not a full disqualification, but alas, it's not in my control and I don't care about comp dbd so whatever.

I will agree there is a subjective marker IF they are running those perks. However, an exception doesn't disprove the general rule. In 99% of cases it is objective.

What people find fun is subjective. However that is not what you're describing. The option on hook is, "do nothing". Anything, is objectively more fun than nothing. If there was any "realistic" play making to do on the hook "generally speaking" then I would agree with you.

Just because you don't agree doesn't mean you need to resort to insulting. I focus on the subject matter of the conversation and provide counter arguments, not insulting the other person.

I never insulted you, either. Way to play the victim because I told you your line of argument (which is saying subjective opinions = objective facts because *you* said so) was embarrassing. It's clear to me you have to use outside means of speaking (which is funny and hypocritical) to make me look worse in order to win a forums argument, so you can have your forums win since you want it so bad that you resulted in making things up, I'll just be playing survivor and enjoying being hooked over being slugged in peace and quiet, you genuinely aren't worth my time or effort.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3498071#Comment_3498071

Its not subjective, it’s objective. I gave facts why as well.

The "facts" you listed were "while on the ground you can crawl, recovery, run multiple anti slug perks and have a second chance at life"

While on hook, you can run perks like Deliverance / Slippery Meat and Up the Ante to get yourself off the hook, whilst also having a second chance at life, and you can do a funny hook dance while on first stage. How is this objectively worse than being slugged? It just .... isn't. Hate to break it to you, but don't decide what other people find fun in this game, no matter how many hours you put into it. I personally find being on hook a lot more fun than being on the ground because that's just my personal opinion, my opinion isn't objective. It's subjective. Just like your opinion isn't objective. Please stop this line of argument. It's embarrassing.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3497957#Comment_3497957

No, it is not objectively sweaty or boring. Please tell me how being slugged is more boring than being on a hook? On the hook you can literally do nothing while on the ground you can crawl, recovery, run multiple anti slug perks and have a second chance at life. Being slugged is actually objectively less boring. The literal only reason someone can prefer being hooked is because they want to remove themselves from the game early, that’s it.

Ignoring/denying an entire aspect of the game? By choosing to hook you we are also ignoring an entire aspect of the game, slugging. Also an aspect of the game is pressuring gens, of which you do more efficiently by slugging.

I don’t get about getting smoke from survivors, I wish we didn’t even have a chat filter as far as that’s concerned so they can say anything they want to me. I’m simply arguing that you haven’t given any rational argument as to why slugging is toxic or boring for that matter.

you can't say being slugged is objectively less boring as it's a subjective opinion :)

  • i think i'd main mikaela if she got a himiko skin that'd be hilarious and adorable

  • i don't agree with the "match doesn't load when someone is above ___ ping threshold" i play with friends who are able to put me to 150-250 ping and i deal with it because i like playing with my friends. y'alls suggestion would just mean i could literally never load into a match with my friends again which is a take and a half. there's better ways to deal with this, i'm sure.

  • i agree, but from the survivor perspective. everyone who plays him either gets destroyed so there's no gameplay other than gens or hard focus tunnels someone out of the game so there's no gameplay other than gens, i have legit not had a fun game against the killer at all and that speaks volumes. the people who say he's in a decent spot right now are huffing massive copium. there's bigger problem killers right now though, plus to bhvr they already gave singularity big buffs so he's fiiiiine!!!! so i don't expect singularity to be touched soon. disastrous killer and the people who play him are the absolute worst.

  • depends on my mood honestly, most games i just take the hook but sometimes i don't, 3v1s are boring and if they don't come back i just want them out of the match so i can end the match sooner and like give the last guy hatch or something.

    What is the issue?

this is under general discussion and no one said there was an issue.

  • i don't think the practice is scummy, but i'm all for a nic only dlc. the only justification i can give them for doing this is they have no say in it and it's a deal with nic, but i'd hope not ..... i feel bad for the people steam sharing dlcs having to pay $10 now if they want to share with people, that's tuff.

  • i lobby dodged earlier today because i got matched again into a newer nea and ace duo when i was playing nurse for my nurse daily, i was playing huntress before when i matchmade them and got 3k plus a gate escape because i didn't patrol gates to let the ace go because i felt bad. i didn't want to give them another boring match especially on a way better killer, so i dodged. i don't want to be force matchmade against people again, that sounds awful. please bhvr do not consider removing lobby dodge for killer, i beg.

  • the last thing we need is more annoying pigs getting more annoying headpops, it's the least fun thing about her kit and buffing it further will only make her feel less enjoyable to go against. give her buffs on her chase potential instead, her dash is mediocre.

  • i think this is the first time i've ever agreed with you. good suggestion and i hope they do it, bp scores should be more generous than they are (especially for killer first hooking survivors, please for the love of GOD encourage unique hooks, and also getting max sacrifice bp is so difficult for no reason other than hooking first survivors is so unrewarding bp wise)

You can be whatever sexual orientation you want, but it doesn't mean you have to put out a memo regarding it. I can see a same sex couple holding hands, and think that's great and good for them, it doesn't mean i need written confirmation of their sexuality.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469723#Comment_3469723

So has Diablo, so has Guldan, so has Nagash in Warhammer and Deckard Cain.

Plenty of fantasy characters have massive amounts of lore, but they don't all include what they got up to in the bedroom.

"You can be whatever sexual orientation you want, but it doesn't mean you have to put out a memo regarding it. I can see a same sex couple holding hands, and think that's great and good for them, it doesn't mean i need written confirmation of their sexuality"

their lore is where we learn about the characters, not them holding hands... because this game is not a game where characters hold hands at any point.

there is no other way other than lore to find this information out. so a "written confirmation" actually holds weight...

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/378143/why-choose-1-5x-bp-over-2x-xp

The 2x multiplier is on daily rituals which means overall you're getting less total bloodpoints and having to go out of your way to play killers/survivors you potentially don't have leveled or don't like playing. The bloodrush gives 1.5x, but it is a consistent multiplier attached to every game you play and stacks with bp offerings. You will always get more bp in a bloodrush setup than a ritual modifier setup in the long run and you don't have to play as many games nor be time gated or challenge gated.

you seem confused, they're not talking about the 2x ritual. they're talking about the 2x player xp

I don't think you can pin the fault of being a motion sick prone person buying the game and then not investigating the game first before purchasing, even more so. Morally or Legally. There is plenty of gameplay material for you to have checked. I understand you want POV to be handled better, me too, but don't try to guilt trip the Developers.

I don't want bHVR to associate the idea of POV options with such a bad argument.

I don't really get your point here. People should investigate before purchasing about... whether or not the fov makes them feel sick when playing, which is an issue only they'll figure out is an issue if they start playing after buying?

you can't just scout out fov motion sickness that easily from yt videos. and even if you could, like the other guy said "why should they be locked from buying a game they want because the devs haven't accommodated their needs?" locking people out of a game because you can't play a few matches without becoming motion sick unless you enjoy wasting a perk slot is utter BS. i'd argue their argument, although it could be worded better, is fairly sound and a good point. keeping the fov so low (especially with no slider) is a bad marketing decision and they're clutching onto dumb beliefs that it's a huge balancing concern when all they're doing is frustrating people because they fail to meet basic accessibility requirements.

  • i only got this challenge because i threw for it and the survivors felt bad for me and gave it to me. i have no clue how to do this challenge when actually playing the game because as the challenge name suggests it's very counterintuitive and you don't want to be doing it in regular gameplay. just hope you get survivors that will help you do the challenge i guess, just keep chucking bottles and praying

  • i don't mind the ping option but like you said your other suggestion is abusable.

  • genuinely no clue why it's not an option. like the skillcheck wiggle too being forced over a/d wiggle. they really love forcing changes on us and giving us no options to turn them off it seems.

  • @Anti051 said:

Yeah, I've never understood the reason why the devs think killer FoV absolutely needs to suck by default. Has anyone from the team ever explained why?

i don't think there's been any reasoning for the base fov to suck. only discussion that making a fov slider gives an advantage and the discussion has been closed and shut from their side, they don't want to change it it seems even though there is no logical reason for the base ~87 unchangeable without a perk fov

  • fr. i desperately want dredge to be reworked. nightfall is an accessibility nightmare and losing chases because you can't see 2 inches in front of you feels like such #########, and i feel for newer players who have no clue where to go because nightfall is so overwhelming to them. nightfall was such a mistake. it's not scary (unlike what other people claim) it's just annoying. the "scare" factor would come if you truly didn't know where dredge is, but you can hear and see him from miles away, so it's not scary. getting downed because you couldn't get to a loop because you couldn't see it isn't scary, it's FRUSTRATING. it's just a bad power that fails at everything it wants to do except ruin new players games because they don't even have a chance of getting to somewhere safe that isn't accidental. nightfall is begging for a rework it's unreal. but everyone's blindsided by how cool dredge's design is and how "scary" dredge is, so bhvr think they put out a good designed killer so people with accessibility issues and newer players now have to suffer because the majority of the playerbase decided a mid killer is the best killer to ever exist. i hate this community

literally we have a killer that's too good against new players and horrible against good players and no one bats an eye because iT's ScArY!

  • sounds horrible. i do not want more people to use knock out bleeding out / slugging builds. knock out does not need further buffs it needs a rework

  • another doomposting thread about a perk that's barely been tested yet so we don't know how strong or how used it'll actually be. dbd forums never ceases to amaze me

  • i mean slinger trickster and huntress aren't 110% m1 killers. unless you cannot aim for the life of you you can still get them with your ranged which'll be a down (well... maybe not for trickster). plus, this will only be during endgame (because you need hope to be active for this) so it's not like you're getting unwinnable chases all match. sure it might sting a bit in endgame if you wanted a kill, but you have to understand this survivor has had 3 perks all match (since hope doesn't activate until endgame) just for this niche scenario that's only good in endgame. i'm sure it doesn't feel good to lose to people who are faster than you, but like... you have to understand it's not like survivors just accidentally slip on getting hope and made for this value. plus all the other matches that these survivors more than likely died before all gens were done, or their perks got completely countered by killers that cover lots of distance like blight, wesker, spirit, nurse make it so the combo is oppressive but risky as it's not consistent through every match.

Streamer hivemind moment. I think Made for This is much more problematic than Scavenger.

this tbh. made for this will more consistently get value than scavenger and i think the scavenger hating (for lack of a better word) is supremely overturned, i don't like perks that do gens faster either but i think everyone needs to take some deep breaths on this one

Bamboozle is a band-aid on a terrible map design. On some maps even bamboozle doesn't allow to counter some braindead RNG, window in front of window nearby window. So yeah, you can just say "I want to abuse all broken things on maps, but this perk prevents me." instead of "It doesn’t feel like it promotes healthy interaction".

ah, the classic response of saying that they just "want to abuse broken things on maps" when this was never ever mentioned and you just made it up in your head because you already came to the conclusion in your own head that this person is unreasonable for disliking going against bamboozle. i can tell this thread is going to continue to get a lot of emotional reactions from killer players, and i'm going to go get my popcorn.

  • it should not be because you're still camping. it should be greatly slowed though

  • killers really took this one hard, huh. the only argument i'll allow you guys to have is for multi level maps. this will be tested on ptb and either it'll be scrapped entirely because they couldn't implement the fixes or it'll be fixed for multi level maps. stop acting like this is the end of the world bffr

  • I hella agree with you on the medkit bp addons. They took the bp bonus away and didn't even give anything that helped with general bp gains at all, they literally just nerfed it for the sake of nerfing the addon in some capacity. It wasn't op, it just gave extra bp (only when you hit greats, might i add) and apparently that's a bad thing according to this company. So irritating. Even with BBQ and WGLF getting their stacks removed they didn't help with us getting more bp they literally just made it so we'd have too much bp and we'd get bored spending it until auto bloodwebs came. Exhausting company. They know damn well they could've just removed the speed and kept the bp bonus on greats but they chose not to. Little changes like these annoy me more than big changes because it's just like

    WHY

like genuinely I cannot get behind their reasoning. it was so flimsy. why purposefully ruin perfectly fine addons when so many busted addons exist? i don't get it! like damn! y'all are petty as hell!

  • yeah mine does that too. i just reselect it again to make sure it's selected. surprised this bug keeps on showing up, i hope they fix it again.

  • yep. depipping in iri for survivor is so punishing. i only got to iri 2 because i duo queued with a buddy of mine because i got so exhausted of losing pips every match when i was 1 pip away from going up in grade. you're punished for the killer being a camping bubba so you don't get enough chaser and altruism emblems. you're punished for it being a slugging nurse who just lets you bleed out. i know these are unlikely scenarios, but the fact the KILLER'S PLAYSTYLE decides if you're going to depip or not more than your actions is obnoxious as hell. i feel removing depipping is honestly the best option, i don't even want to bother telling them to make a better system because i don't trust these people.

  • i hope they don't give an option to hide character prestiges because i want to know how much bp the survivors i'm going against as killer have put into their survivor. it gives more likeliness that i'm going against BNPs and other fun stuff the higher their prestige is, because of just how much strong stuff you get just from filling out bloodwebs over hundreds and hundreds of times. someone else can take those matches for me when i dodge, i'd hate for that to get removed. yeah it sucks for the people who just wanna chill on their high prestige survivor but i think it's a necessary evil imho.

The thing is, it is only considered griefing when you are doing it for a long period of time to the same person. And probably when you do it to everyone involved, you might also get banned, but this would only be a thing if random people would report Killers who grief them.

Because if it happens once to you that you are griefed by something like written in OPs post, you probably wont report it. If the same Killer player does it multiple times, you will more likely report it, because you know them. But if it is a random Killer and they do it to 100 people in 100 games, you can be sure that only a small amount of people would actually report this, because they dont know that this specific player is doing it all the time and reports for just one-time griefing are just a waste for time for everyone.

    @Topic:

There should be a surrender-option, but only in the case that no Survivor has any chance to get up again. E.g. all Survivors slugged, nobody has Unbreakable. This would at least eliminate the cases where a Killer bleeds out the Survivors just out of spite.

However, as long as one Survivor would be able to pick someone or themselves up, the option to concede should not appear. While I dislike slugging for the 4K, it should not be the case that the slugged Survivor can concede earlier to deny a 4K.

"While I dislike slugging for the 4K, it should not be the case that the slugged Survivor can concede earlier to deny a 4K"

i feel it should be the opposite actually. If you've left the survivor on the ground for 1-2 minutes (like the original post said) they should have the option to go next / give the last person hatch.

I don't see why the survivor should have to stay in the game on the ground specifically until they're picked up again

or they bleed out because the killer wants their 4k and wants to waste the survivors time while doing by leaving them on the ground instead of killing them because they're unconfident they'll win the hatch game...slugging because people are scared of hatch game should be a thing of the past, same with slugging to bm
